Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

she needed to settle down. she was excited and that was fine, but she didn't want des to think she was going to push him to do something he wasn't ready for. tearing off another piece of her grilled cheese she dipped it into her soup while she gave him time to answer her multiple questions. she nodded at his response."really, that's nice."she told him with a smile.
"well that's a start."she responded after he had told her that they had had lunch before."i didn't mean to rush you into anything. i was just a tad bit too excited."she told him with a laugh. she really hoped it hadn't come off that way. she was the last person to want to pressure her brother into anything. she truly desired his happiness more than anything.

she was glad she wasn't taking someone's spot. how embarrassing would that of been. them showing up and elysia was sitting in there spot. she had gone back to make her own cappuccino and she could feel the stares of her co-workers. the way they looked at her, she knew something was up. though she would have to question them later.
she had returned a little embarrassed with the looks she was receiving, but she decided to ignore them for now. she blew on her beverage to cool it down before taking a sip. it had been a while since she had one. she enjoyed them, because they were not too overly sweet. she had returned, but she wasn't sure what to talk about. she could think of many things to say, but she didn't want to sound like she was questioning him simply to make conversation.
she tore off a piece of her croissant and dipped it into the cappuccino before taking a bite."do you like the muffin?"she asked feeling silly for asking in the first place."i wasn't sure if you were a chocolate person or not."she rambled."i know some don't like it..."she said trailing off."do you come here often? i feel like i've seen you before, then again im only here when im not at school."she told him with a smile. she was probably talking too much. she lifted the cup to her mouth and took another drink.

she smiled at his word of thanks."of course, it's no problem."he had offered her to take a seat and honestly she hadn't thought he would do so. she just assumed that he was waiting for someone."oh, you're not waiting for someone?"she asked him a little embarrassed she had asked."i am on break. let me go get something so im not awkwardly staring at you while you eat. not that i would stare, that's rude."she said with a laugh. she had yet to leave to go get her own beverage when he introduced himself.
she took his hand in her own and shook it."it's nice to meet you too zachary. i'm elysia."she told him."i'll be right back."and with that she had left him for the moment to retrieve her own goodies. she ended up getting a cappuccino just like she had suggested to him, though the pastry she got was just a croissant. she had returned and set her things on the table sitting across from him.

she wasn't asked too often to suggest something. she felt like she was the wrong person to be asking. she wasn't as adventurous as some of the other people that worked here. she was glad that she had managed to come up with something and not let the guy go empty handed. while she waited for his response she looked at the menu on the counter. trying to think of another possible choice. though it seemed like that wouldn't be necessary as he had gone with her third suggestion. she smiled and nodded while she put his order in.
he had thanked her for her suggestion and she nodded."no problem."she told him before returning a few moments later with his french vanilla cappuccino."enjoy."she told him as she handed him his beverage. she might just have to skip her usual coffee and get one as well. she had five minutes till her scheduled break.
she was glad the rush was had slowed. she wouldn't of taken her break had it been super busy. she wondered if the guy had liked his cappuccino. it didn't seem like he had had one before. just in case he didn't she figured she could bring him a pastry. she was craving one herself. she walked over with the plate in hand and stopped at his table."sorry, this goes well with the cappuccino. just in case you didn't like it."she told him as she sat down the the chocolate chip muffin.

while some people took orders she was towards the end cashing people out. from time to time she would rotate with another person. it all depended on who was busy and who could get to the register first. she enjoyed the rush as crazy as that sounded. waiting around and doing nothing made the day go by pretty slowly. the busier they were the faster time went along.
she hated just standing around and not being able to do something. though at the moment she wasn't bored. she smiled at the man who was trying to decide what to get. she laughed softly not sure to what to suggest. she tried to think of what was most popular."well, if you don't want coffee we also have tea and hot chocolate."she told him as she tried to think of one more thing to suggest."oh, the french vanilla cappuccino is also delicious. i get that quite often."she told him with a smile.

a small yawn escaped her lips as she made her way inside. she should have not stayed up so late. winter break was totally messing with her sleep schedule. she of course still had to work, but it wasn't like it was ever day. she was ready for her own cup of coffee. she rarely got anything more than milk and a couple sugars in her coffee. though there would be times she would venture out and try some flavored creamer. though her favorite would have to be the coconut one. the smell of coffee and warm pastries hit her once she stepped inside. she quickly made her way towards the back to put her things away and put on her apron. her hair was tied back into a ponytail to keep her hair away from her face while she worked. she had noticed a couple of people already sitting and sipping their coffees at various tables.
she walked around collecting dishes left behind and refilling regular cups of coffee. eventually she made her way back towards the counter. she had forgotten to get her own cup of coffee ready. though at the moment there was no time as more people searching for caffeine started to walk in. they were pretty simple orders. once they had there to go cup they paid and left. it seemed like she would have to wait a little longer before she could her caffeine fix.

she was happy for him. how long had it been since his last horrible relationship. that guy seemed so nice, but after it was over. her sweet baby brother wasn't clearly not the same. he didn't go into detail and she wouldn't expect him to. there was nothing anyone could do when their hurt got broken. she was so angry with that boy. she didn't care what people did to her, when they hurt her brother that was completely different.
not that she would of done anything extreme, but still. pushing those thoughts away she continued to eat. enjoying the moment, her little victory. she was so excited she had suggested a little romantic dinner here. she was already five steps ahead when he was hesitant."okay okay. we can start out with something small and then work our way to the dinner."she told him with a smile.
she smiled sadly at her brother. she understood his fear. everyone felt it."how long have you been hanging out? i doubt you'd be capable of something so drastic that makes him hate you."she tells him with a nod."but alright, then let's do something small. how about bringing him a lunch where he works? or a movie? a walk in the park?"she continued spouting off ideas. this was going to be harder than she anticipated.
clearly this guy wouldn't get offended super easily. des was nervous and that was understandable. she didn't want to rush them, but a small date wouldn't be so bad would it?

no matter what it was, pulling tricks on her or asking the right questions. he did seem to enjoy teasing her. she maybe be bad at trying to pull her own tricks on him, but she did have a few things up her sleeve, so to speak. it was his own fault for asking about it first. surely he must of known she would retaliate with asking about his love life.
it wasn't to say hers was nonexistent. she's had people she fancied, but that was it. she had too many things to worry about to add on the stress not of a relationship, but the stuff before it. i like them, but do they like me? though she had to admit maybe it was because she was too timid or perhaps hesitant? she hadn't found the right person yet. if it happens it happens. right now she had more important things to finish, like her schooling.
she giggled softly as she saw his reaction."you are! look at how rosy your cheeks are."she said as she poked him one last time before moving back to the table."that's so cute des!"she couldn't contain her little victory. she smiled it had been a bit too long since she'd seen him like this."not yet. im sure he likes you! i mean who wouldn't? he's probably scared you don't like him. should i set up a date? oh maybe i can make you two a lovely dinner!"she continued a bit too excited about setting up this date.
she dished out the soup and started to rip off a piece of her grilled cheese to dunk into her soup. giving her brother time to process everything she had just said.

elysia chuckles softly at her apparent excitement that elysia had agreed to shop with them. she watched as she went off in search of something, giving her time alone with her maid. elysia smiled at her once she introduced herself as kara.
elysia had simply thought colette was just a very excitable girl. kara continued with her explanation and elysia nodded."oh that's terrible."she could sympathize with her. their mother had left them, but she still had her father and he was doing great.
her mouth formed into a frown. it must of been really tough being all on her own. she couldn't imagine having no one to talk to or have someone to confide in. though it seemed like kara could been a stable person in her life."she lucky to have someone care about her as much as you."elysia told her. she was thankful she had desmond.
she returned with a couple of cartons of orange juice and elysia smiled at her. colette quickly too her hand and started to shake. elysia couldn't help, but laugh at her enthusiams."it's nice to meet you too colette."

elysia blushed and shook her head."okay totally missed that. that makes more sense."she said with a laugh of her own."i guess you're right. anyone that wants to take a risk would probably enjoy it."
she smiled at her after saying that elysia wasn't as clumsy as she first appeared. she had her moment and sometimes those moments were pretty out there. like what had just happened a few minutes ago. she blushed once more."don't worry, im sure you'll get another chance to save me."elysia said as she tried to hide her face by turning away."well, im going to go pay for this. i really do hope i see you at the cafe."she said turning to one last time before making her way towards the cashier.

she laughed softly."you say anybody, but i think you're the only person that would move in to catch them."after all that's what elysia had done. she knew that even if she had attempted to catch them she might of dropped a few and really it wasn't worth getting hurt, that would be too embarrassing.
she smiled and shook her head, mostly at herself."see, i told you i wasn't totally clumsy all the time."elysia didn't mind cleaning up her own messes. though she still felt bad for dragging her into this."it's nice to meet you. really it's the least i can do for you."she told her with a nod.
she wasn't sure if yuki was busy and if elysia was keeping her from her search."i'll get out of your way now."she smiled before laughing."this is the only book im getting today. so if you here anymore books falling it was not me."

elysia hummed softly as she flipped each sandwich. she was enjoying being able to cook along side her brother. watching him, whisk the milk and soup. soon the silence had been broken and desmond wanted to know if she had anymore conflicts. she was still embarrassed, not that he had to defend her, but that she was too weak to solve the problem herself. she knew no matter what des would always look out for her and she would do the same for him.
she looked away once her cheeks started to flush."yes, im far to busy with school and work to get wrapped up in silly things like that. i've learned my lesson."she told him with a sigh. once the sandwiches were nice and brown on both sides she turned off the burner and placed a sandwich on eat plate and set them on the table."sandwiches are done."she told him with a smile.
oh, but eylsia had her own questions up her sleeve and would watch him to see a reaction. she smiled softly at him. people in love were so cute. she moved closer to him and attempted to poke his cheek."are you blushing?"she teased him with a smile."only hanging out? no dates. should i call him and give him the hint?"elysia continued before bringing over bowls and spoons to the table.

elysia sighed with relief and nodded at her words."good im glad. im not usually this clumsy."she mentioned with a laugh. in all the chaos she had put the book she wanted to purchase for her father back."okay, watch yourself."she told her with a laugh as elysia held the books back with one hand and grabbed the one she needed with another."in all the commotion i forgot i needed to one."she said with a small laugh.
she nodded at her words of safety."of course. i wouldn't make you catch them twice."she just stood there with book in hand. she didn't want to keep the girl from her book shopping."well, thanks again for your help. im elysia by the way."she said with a smile. there had to be some way to repay her kindness. she started to rummage through her purse until she pulled out a small slip of paper and hand it towards her."here, it's a coupon for a free drink at the cafe i work at."

she was told not to worry about it and elysia simply shook her head. how was she not going to worry about something that she had caused. she sighed softly before responding."alright." she worked as quickly as possible. knowing that the books she was holding onto were more than likely not as light as they could of been.
she smiled and nodded after hearing that she was alright. elysia wasn't the strongest, had she managed to catch the books like the girl had done, there was a probability that she might of ended up with bruised arms."good, im glad. really im sorry. here you are cleaning up my mess."
she had managed to put the last book away and dusted her hands off."thanks again for your help. im alright."she told her with a nod."i managed to move out of the way with my quick reflexes."elysia said with a laugh.

she had hoped she had been by herself with she accidentally knocked down the rest of the books. she moved away so that her toes wouldn't get crushed by some of the heavier tomes. as she backed away someone seemed to appear out of thin air. that probably wasn't the case. she had been a bit focused on her task and had become unaware of those around her.
she simply stood there and watched as they managed to catch every single book without dropping them. clearly elysia wouldn't of been able to do that, hence why she moved out of the way. she came to her sense once they started talking."whoa, good catch."elysia said with a light blush as she quickly grabbed a couple of books out of their arms. she had been surprised to see them there at first."sorry."elysia said as she started to place them back in the empty spot on the shelf."are you alright? i mean i know you caught them and all, but they are pretty heavy."
