Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

she was always doing this. she had thought she had been ahead of schedule, but clearly she had not. she had told herself this year she would get presents for her father and brother early. yet here she was arriving at the mall trying to figure out what she should get them and what store she should start looking in first.
at least she had a variety of choices. though maybe there were too many choices. she sighed softly. she had to think positive, she had at least managed to write down a list of possible things she could get them for christmas. thankfully she already had wrapping paper, bows and tags at home. one less thing to worry about. she looked at her list. desmond would be easy. he seemed content with candy. though she wanted to give him more than just cavities this year.
for now she was headed to the bookstore. for as much as their father worked the man loved to read. she usually avoided picking anything that was in a series. though there have been occasions when she would randomly pick him up the next one in the series. luckily the store wasn't too crowded. she told herself she would be quick since she already knew which book she was going to get. that was clearly a lie, as a couple of books caught her eye. she went to grab a book and accidentally pulled out a couple from alongside it."oh, shoot."she said softly as she moved out of the way. last thing she needed was some heavy books hitting her toes.
Yuki found herself at the bookstore. Though she spent most of her time at the library, she found herself debating on buying the books for herself so that she would forever have a copy. She had slowly walked around the isles, peeking at the different titles of the books. No more than a few minutes had gone by before other people had joined her in this isle, likely knowing which books to buy because they didn't seem to stay very long. Elysia had joined her, though she hadn't paid much attention until the books had slowly started falling out of the shelf. Instead of moving away as Elysia had done, she had moved in front as to attempt to catch the books that were falling as to safe them from the floor.
She was struggling with her grip but not a single one fallen to the floor. Mission complete. She thought to herself, quite pleased as she tried adjusting the books in her arms so that she could slowly put them back in without dropping them. It was hard, having five books in her arms, having had them closed so that the ones in the middle wouldn't fall, making it difficult to move her arms to place the books on the shelf. "Can you.... umm... help me?" She asked, hoping to gain Elysia's attention. She had after all been the reason for the books falling from the shelf in the first place.

she had hoped she had been by herself with she accidentally knocked down the rest of the books. she moved away so that her toes wouldn't get crushed by some of the heavier tomes. as she backed away someone seemed to appear out of thin air. that probably wasn't the case. she had been a bit focused on her task and had become unaware of those around her.
she simply stood there and watched as they managed to catch every single book without dropping them. clearly elysia wouldn't of been able to do that, hence why she moved out of the way. she came to her sense once they started talking."whoa, good catch."elysia said with a light blush as she quickly grabbed a couple of books out of their arms. she had been surprised to see them there at first."sorry."elysia said as she started to place them back in the empty spot on the shelf."are you alright? i mean i know you caught them and all, but they are pretty heavy."
Yuki couldn't help but feel grateful when Elysia had helped her put the books back. Though she had managed to catch them, if she dropped a single one, she would feel bad and if they landed on her feet, would hurt after the amount that were likely to fall after the first. "Don't worry about it." She answered, shuffling the books in her grip so that she could slowly put them back on the shelf as well. As soon as the books were back on the shelf, she rubbed the inside of her elbows before fixing her glasses. "I'm alright." She answered with a small smile, having decided that she would be buying a book or two today. Though she wasn't sure out of the many books that she had read in the past, which ones she wanted to buy. They were all just too good. "Are you alright?" She asked, knowing that the books falling had likely startled Elysia which had been the biggest reason for moving in the first place. She wanted to make sure that she'd be alright by herself if she ended up moving isles because this one didn't have any books that she planned on buying for today.

she was told not to worry about it and elysia simply shook her head. how was she not going to worry about something that she had caused. she sighed softly before responding."alright." she worked as quickly as possible. knowing that the books she was holding onto were more than likely not as light as they could of been.
she smiled and nodded after hearing that she was alright. elysia wasn't the strongest, had she managed to catch the books like the girl had done, there was a probability that she might of ended up with bruised arms."good, im glad. really im sorry. here you are cleaning up my mess."
she had managed to put the last book away and dusted her hands off."thanks again for your help. im alright."she told her with a nod."i managed to move out of the way with my quick reflexes."elysia said with a laugh.
Yuki just smiled at Elysia. "Don't worry about it, it really wasn't any trouble at all." She answered as she checked the books to make sure they weren't going to fall off the shelf. "I'm happy to hear it, just be more careful. I'd hate for one of them to fall again. They aren't as light as they appear." She answered with a small joke, having caught so many she was surprised that her arms weren't sore but because she was used to carrying a pile of books around, it wasn't that difficult to hold. Had it been in her arms any longer and she might have started losing her grip on them.

elysia sighed with relief and nodded at her words."good im glad. im not usually this clumsy."she mentioned with a laugh. in all the chaos she had put the book she wanted to purchase for her father back."okay, watch yourself."she told her with a laugh as elysia held the books back with one hand and grabbed the one she needed with another."in all the commotion i forgot i needed to one."she said with a small laugh.
she nodded at her words of safety."of course. i wouldn't make you catch them twice."she just stood there with book in hand. she didn't want to keep the girl from her book shopping."well, thanks again for your help. im elysia by the way."she said with a smile. there had to be some way to repay her kindness. she started to rummage through her purse until she pulled out a small slip of paper and hand it towards her."here, it's a coupon for a free drink at the cafe i work at."
Yuki nodded her head, "I think anybody would have moved if a bunch of heavy books were falling out." She answered in reply, not being surprised just because they were going to fall on the floor and possibly feet if one wasn't careful. She watched as Elysia placed her hand on the book she wanted and her other hand on the side of the book so that it none would come falling out again. She smiled at Elysia's comment. "Well I'm glad you were able to get one without them falling again." She answered, "Oh that wouldn't have been a problem." It was a lie, she could feel some soreness in the inside of her elbows because the books had been poking her. "Your welcome, I'm Yuki. A pleasure to meet you Elysia." She answered before being surprised by a piece of paper. "That is so sweet of you." She accepted the coupon.

she laughed softly."you say anybody, but i think you're the only person that would move in to catch them."after all that's what elysia had done. she knew that even if she had attempted to catch them she might of dropped a few and really it wasn't worth getting hurt, that would be too embarrassing.
she smiled and shook her head, mostly at herself."see, i told you i wasn't totally clumsy all the time."elysia didn't mind cleaning up her own messes. though she still felt bad for dragging her into this."it's nice to meet you. really it's the least i can do for you."she told her with a nod.
she wasn't sure if yuki was busy and if elysia was keeping her from her search."i'll get out of your way now."she smiled before laughing."this is the only book im getting today. so if you here anymore books falling it was not me."
"I meant to dodge them." Yuki answered back, laughing slightly. "Though I don't agree about being the only person.... I'm sure anybody might have stepped in like me.... just depends on if they are willing to take the chance of dropping them or not." She enjoyed reading books, frankly she was a nerd. She didn't want to flat out say other nerds but more then likely other nerds would have caught the books too. It was as simple as that. She smiled when Elysia mentioned how she wasn't clumsy all the time. "I believe you." She answered her in return. "You aren't in my way." She answered, wanting Elysia not to feel bad, though now she wasn't too sure on if she wanted to buy any books, having to carry them home and all. Of course it wouldn't stop her from looking them over. She chuckled at Elysia's comment. "Bummer and here I thought I could save you again." She teased before looking back towards the shelf. She didn't want to distract Elysia from her day, she was more than likely busy.

elysia blushed and shook her head."okay totally missed that. that makes more sense."she said with a laugh of her own."i guess you're right. anyone that wants to take a risk would probably enjoy it."
she smiled at her after saying that elysia wasn't as clumsy as she first appeared. she had her moment and sometimes those moments were pretty out there. like what had just happened a few minutes ago. she blushed once more."don't worry, im sure you'll get another chance to save me."elysia said as she tried to hide her face by turning away."well, im going to go pay for this. i really do hope i see you at the cafe."she said turning to one last time before making her way towards the cashier.
