Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Closeness to Tristan was a comfort for Nathan as remained in the warmth of the embrace. There was serenity found within the moment as the vampire enjoyed hugging the blond while blankets maintained more warmth. The compliments generated a further attachment, making the hunter feel a necessity in returning those favors with similar truths. Difficult was nonexistent in the matter considering his thoughts about his closest friend and how remarkable he was. Finding flaws in Tristan was simply impossible to the vampire's belief, but should one be discovered he would happily accept it and continue admiring the blond. Although, there was something peculiar about the amount of closeness that Nathan desired with his friend. As the amount of time spent together turned more extensive there were thoughts given towards the enjoyment and how attractive his friend's appearance was.
Those numerous years pushing him away had caused him to ignore the handsome aspects of Tristan's appearance. Even the sickness that was currently plaguing his friend could not tarnish the beauty of his body. Personality and appearance were both perfect to the green-haired teen and merely pondering the concept caused a deep blush to colour Nathan's face. The vividly red flush of his face managed to reach the tips of the vampire's ears as realization began making the pieces fit together. There was an explanation for the skyrocketing heart rate and flustered demeanor, although, the hunter found himself unable to admit to the fact. The thoughts were shoved away as Nathan fixated his attention onto Tristan with desires to allow the bond to continue being created between them. The tightening of grip from the blond was comforting, a sense of safety and comfort transcending over the vampire through the small action.
The words whispered were touching to Nathan since a majority of family and friends did not provide attention for him during the special occasion. Each year, Tristan had been the outstanding exception and despite the wild chases, the vampire mildly appreciated the attentiveness that had been given towards the occasion. Throughout the years of yelling and threats, Tristan even possessed the kindness to still give him a gift.
"You never do... and I really appreciate that," Nathan murmured. "... I have missed a lot of yours I bet... sorry."
Relaxing in the embrace was becoming easier with every passing second, the reasoning behind hugging his friend no longer being to merely assist in the recovery of his illness. There was a craving towards this interaction, in having his arms wrapped around his blond friend. Eventually, his thoughts transitioned to the location that Tristan would be sleeping, praying that perhaps his human friend would consider remaining in his room; the idea of sleeping next to the attractive blond was overwhelmingly pleasant.
"Hey, Tristan... um... by any chance do you just want to stay in the same room as me? We could share the room..." Nathan began. "I-i mean my parents are less likely to come into my room over the guest ones, so you will likely be better off staying here... with me..."
Embarrassment flared upon inquiring, causing Nathan's face to flush a fresh shade of red while he embraced Tristan tightly in order to hide his face again. The desire to shower his friend with affection was growing alongside the anxious emotions that seemed to generate from just thoughts of Tristan. When inquired about his occupation, Nathan's nervousness fled as his face shifted into a serious expression.
"I'm a hunter," he stated bluntly.
No context was given to the statement since it involved the death of his beloved brother and Nathan was concerned over Tristan witnessing him being emotional. Concepts of the handsome man finding him pathetic were strangely frightening which made the vampire moderately self-conscious over displaying the bottled emotions from his brother's death. The necessity to keep the blond in close proximity remained and Nathan was slowly arriving to the conclusion of why.
When the brief explanation about the behaviors of Tristan's father began, Nathan's grip tightened. Listening to the deceptions that his friend stated his father made, which was a truth easily believed. After hearing the attitude the man's voice possessed when addressing the son, the vampire had no doubts in the words Tristan stated about the man. There were the slightest hints of joy in the fact that Nathan found himself capable of motivating his friend to speak further. Although, there sentences being stated were thoughts that concerned him further about the blond's well-being. The concept of his friend's workaholic father pushing him constantly suggested that the man himself gave zero thought towards his son's health. Gradually, as the sentences continued, Nathan found himself hating Tristan's father further and the notions of his own parents being strict did not aid the matter.
As the analyzing shifted towards the hunter's, Nathan's eyes widened as Tristan explained. The beginning described the scenario perfectly, giving the vampire the impression that his blond friend knew him incredibly well. Instantly, Nathan glanced away guiltily at the mentioning of the necessity he created from grief; he had underestimated his friend's knowledge. A vast majority of people believed the change was created as a result of him joining the TRS, but truthfully the disguise was to create solitude. At the mentioning of enjoying Tristan's company, a blush coloured the vampire's cheeks as he hugged his friend tighter to hide his face. Once again, his friend dubbed him a hero which caused the blush to deepen into a vivid red that painted itself across the bridge of his nose. Speech seemed impossible, the compliments that flowed smoothly from Tristan's lips stunning him; they possessed a special type of sweetness because his friend had stated them. There were a few moments of speechlessness until Nathan gained the courage to speak.
"... And you wonder why I think your amazing..." Nathan murmured quietly. A small smile marked the vampire's face. "... I feel you are far too kind to somebody like me, but... I appreciate it. This is what makes you amazing... because you called my bluff... That has never been the real me you could say. Also... I don't think saving you was a flaw... it was more of a blessing."
In a soft voice, the vampire confirmed Tristan's statement towards his sadistic side being a mere mask. Being held close was liberating as his friend's arms acted as a savoir from the torturous thoughts of loss and requiring to maintain appearances. The warmth found in the embrace created a comfortable atmosphere for Nathan as he snuggled in closer; the feeling was irresistible. There was a pause between answering his inquiry about the nightmare, which concerned the vampire immediately as he protectively held Tristan close. Immediately upon hearing the nightmare's topic, Nathan's grip tightened as he stiffened and spared a glance at his friend. The grim countenance alongside the vague explanation was already concerning the vampire, causing him to gently rub the blond's back. When the question reached Nathan's ears, it was ignored as the green-haired teen maintained his tight grip. For a few moments, the hunter remained silent as he kept rubbing Tristan's back and holding him close in hopes of coaxing more information.
A worried expression remained on the vampire's face as he silently hugged his precious friend. More disdain and hatred was being sparked towards Tristan's father as Nathan found himself desiring to inflict some pain on the man, although, he would not admit that.
"Yeah... I guess you can say that," he began, a shrug following. "Mine are just never around, but they definitely think it's alright to miss out on everything... I don't think they have ever been around for a single birthday party, holiday or even special event. Makes me wonder if they really care about me... It just makes me feel alone and find it hard to like them remotely when they aren't around."
There was a hint of surprise on Nathan's face due to his admittance of feelings related to his parents. The entire details were spared, but usually the vampire simply stated that he found them infuriating. His eyes drifted towards Tristan as he realized the amount of security he felt in telling the blond his opinions, almost as allowing him close suddenly transformed into something that could be allowed.
Compliments from Tristan seemed to skyrocket in value to Nathan. They made the vampire feel important and reminded him how sweet his friend could be. When Nathan caught the smirk on Tristan's face caused him to feel nervous. The blond was clearly planning something, and when the statements began there was clarity. Each positive comment that Tristan stated about him resulted in his heart fluttering. The blush on his face increased immensely, consuming his once pale complexion in trade for a deep red one. As compliments ticked by, Nathan's face began feeling warmer in the presence of Tristan. Part of him desires to hide his face, but his yellow-green eyes refused to drift away from his friend. They seemed to observe Tristan's face, noticing the attraction in his facial features alongside the beauty of his eyes. It contributed to the blush, making the colour deeper across Nathan's face.
The insistence towards him being a hero was meaningful to Nathan and caused his heart to continue fluttering. Although, the correction about being himself caused the vampire to flinch a little. There were thoughts taken towards the traits he used to push away everybody after he lost his older brother. In the pit of the hunter's stomach was a seed of guilt over the concept, causing him to hold Tristan tighter for making him witness the mask's social destruction. When the blond continued, stating that he found happiness in being in his company to the degree of feeling at home caused the blush on Nathan's face to deepen again. Those sweet words were significant when said by Tristan, almost as though some magic caused them to become more meaningful because of the speaker. Once again, Nathan found himself holding his friend tighter, a slight smile forming on his face as his confidence was rebuilt. The tightened grip from his friend was reassuring, making the vampire feel comfortable and safe within the embrace.
"... Thank-you, Tristan," he murmured softly. "By the way, I think you are perfect just the way you are. You're nice enough to be sweet to guys like me."
There was a deep desired to return the immense blushing to Tristan, almost as though it was necessity. All those self-conscious emotions that Nathan has possessed had been soothed by the delightfully sweet words of his friend and now it was time to return the favor. The ambiguous response about what occurred in the nightmare alongside the mentioning of Tristan's father caused the vampire to grow concern. His heart skipped a beat and a fresh frown came across the green-haired teen's face as he gazed at his friend. Unfortunately, the coughing interrupted Nathan's response as more worry flooded his mind over the health and safety of Tristan. Patience was taken as Nathan provided his friend with the opportunity to drink some of the water.
"No problem. It's better if you stay here and get better if your dad is going to force you to work," Nathan responded softly. "Also... are you sure you will be alright? You looked so scared and even in pain. Heck, you started crying because of it."
The vampire's eyes remained locked on his friend, concern marking his countenance. As he stared at Tristan, he remembered how his friend stated that he desired to remain here with him. A faint blush coloured Nathan's face as his thoughts lingered on the concept alongside the idea of his parents rarely being home. They obviously would not notice the house guest their son adopted and swearing the servants to secrecy was easy; most of their loyalty was in him anyways. Parental figures never gained the hunter's respect due to the actions of his own parents and already listened to the harsh words of Tristan's father; it fueled his decision.
"... If you want, you can stay here, Tristan. I really don't mind and it isn't like my parents would be home enough to notice anyways," Nathan offered.
Allowing Tristan's father to continue screaming about his son not being at work was not going to be permitted by Nathan. From the compliments exchange and his friend's behavior prior, he did not deserve those ruthless comments or to be yelled at in general. Once again, the vampire wrapped his arms tightly around the blond in hopes of the actions making the offer more desirable for him.
There was little chance in calming the rapid beating caused by Nathan's sudden affliction, although, he was no longer irritated by the notion. The joys in embracing Tristan were conquering the self-conscious feelings surrounding his mind; the comfort it possessed was overwhelming. When it was spoken that they both had their moments, the vampire merely nodded and hugged the blond tighter. It was almost as though by holding his friend close, the green-haired teen hoped to miraculously reverse all those hurtful things he stated. This good fortune could no longer be taken lightly by the hunter, the necessity to make Tristan feel welcomed around him increasing every second, but there were now numerous reasons instead of the meager fainting incident. When the blond was around, everything felt a little better, which was another noticed development that had occurred.
In silence, Nathan kept holding his friend as any desires to release him fled completely; should Tristan attempt to move away, the vampire was bound to cling for a short time. The compliment about being a hero caused a red tint to paint across the green-haired teen's face, his expression shifting from mild calmness to surprise. Nobody considered him a hero and hearing it from somebody who hastily became significant was making his heart flutter. It was impossible for Nathan to comprehend how the blond believed he deserved the prestigious title.
"... You think I am a hero?" Nathan began softly. "But... heroes aren't mean to people... Why would you consider me one? I'm just a jerk who pushes everybody away, who yells at them, torments them with ridicule... How could I possible be a hero in your eyes?"
It was obvious by Nathan higher-pitched voice that guilt remained in the actions he took towards Tristan; there was necessity to hear how it was possible. While the vampire embraced his human friend, his self-conscious thoughts continued to assist against what the blond had openly stated. In Nathan's opinion, there was no possible way that he could ever be considered a hero to anybody; it was a title deserving to the kind, not for those who assaulted people mentally and emotionally. Although, the vampire did not reach the lengths of a villain, he would never consider himself to be anybody's hero with his attitude towards others. The tightening of the embrace on Tristan's end was comforting and caused Nathan's heart rate to elevate from the innocent action. A beat was skipped and a deep blushed painted the vampire's face red when the blond mumbled about desiring to stay with him. Hearing the concept increased the hunter's protective behavior, especially when Tristan started trembling slightly.
In response, Nathan gently rubbed the human's in an attempt to sooth whatever was starting the shaking. The sign of fear was a reminder as the vampire remembered the nightmare that Tristan was unable to inform him about. A concerned countenance shortly crawled onto his face; there was a requirement to know if the nightmare produced the sudden trembling.
"You never told me about the nightmare... Do you still want to talk about it?" Nathan asked softly, tightening his grip around Tristan again.
Shortly, the concern was increased when Tristan started coughing and despite Nathan's desire to hold him tightly, he was forced to loosen his grip. His pale hand reached for the water bottle left on the bedside table, brought due to the vampire's request when the blond had been sleeping. The reaction was instinctive, almost as though his mind already knew the dilemma that caused the sudden coughing. The white cap was twisted off the plastic bottle in a swift and fluent motion before Nathan offered it to Tristan in silence. Worried continued to mark the green-haired teen's face, but the trained hunter inside allowed him to remain calm under the circumstance.
Embracing Tristan was a comfort for Nathan; a reassurance of his friend's safety and well-being. The arms wrapped around his precious friend were tight due to the menacing tones that the blond's father had used. There was no possibility that the vampire would release Tristan, almost as though his grasp could protect him from those harsh words. Somebody screaming at his precious friend caused a heartache accompanied by a fierce protectiveness that kept Nathan latched to Tristan while they laid beside each other. Hints of embarrassment remained evident on the hunter's face, but they failed to dismiss the defensive behavior that had been adopted immediately after the phone call. Quietly, the vampire kept his flushed face hidden and maintained a tight grip. A silence was kept when Tristan spoke, Nathan gently rubbing his friend's back when he stated the reason was unknown.
There was a mild feeling of pity over his friend's parental plight, but the feeling did not drive his actions and emotions. Something deeper was pulling the strings, treating his heart like a puppet as it tugged Nathan closer to the blond and caused the consistent palpitations. The exact name of the affliction remained unbeknownst to the vampire, but the thoughts were shoved away for later pondering. Currently, he felt required to provide his friend company in hopes of comforting him from both the phone call and horrible nightmare. Further, the vampire's confidence was bashed when the human inquired about the accidental compliment. The blush deepened in colour, the red tint attempting to conquer the entirely of Nathan's pale complexion as he remained silent. Despite the comment being unintentional, the hunter was genuine about the opinion stated about Tristan by his furious state.
An extensive period of silence fell as the vampire attempted to sort through his opinion and seek the correct wording to convey the thoughts properly. Naturally, his opinion about Tristan was that the blond was incredible because of his immense devotion and capability to handle his constant threatening. The consideration taken towards being a friend were taken in full-force since nowadays, only a singular person remained the vampire's friend which was the blond he held tightly in his arms. His friend's intellect was admirable, his skills in hacking proving the notion. Being in Tristan's presence caused his heart to catch fire, although, that was a recent development that Nathan remained uncertain about.
"... Of course I do. You're devoted, loyal and despite how horribly I treated you... you remained determined to be my friend... Although, I still don't understand why exactly you think I am worth the time," Nathan murmured gently. "Tristan... why did you never find a different friend? Somebody who did not treat you like dirt?"
The vampire desired to gain the knowledge of Tristan's reasoning for maintaining an intense loyalty to him. Comprehending how the green-haired teen had deserved an remarkable person in his life was already beyond his mind. At the mentioning of meeting the blond's father, an annoyed huff escaped Nathan's lips.
"And I can't promise that I won't instantly yell, punch, kick, scream or generally assault him if that happens," he mumbled. "I'm tempted to not allow you to go home. You do not deserve to be yelled at over being sick! Going to work in your condition could land you in the hospital! Your father is an idiot who doesn't know how to raise a child. He is worse than MY parents and that is saying something."
The tiny broach towards the topic of Tristan's father maintained the protective embrace that Nathan had on him and roused the furious emotions that slumbered after the humiliation of accidentally admitting his emotions. There was a grumpy countenance to the vampire's face while he held the blond as he mentally chastised Tristan's father's parenting skills. Although, the hunter relaxed when the blond melted into his embrace again. It resulted in a small smile lighting up the usually gloomy expression that Nathan kept. Holding Tristan was a privilege that the green-haired teen was contented to have from the comforts it provided for himself; the joy accompanied by the feeling of companionship and trust. With the melting came the fluttering of his heart as it displayed its own enjoyment in holding the blond.
The concern dwelling in Nathan's thoughts when it came to his precious friend felt like vicious stabs towards his mental state. They resulted in the throbbing of his heart and the necessity to keep the blond close. Viewing the entire display of Tristan's countenance during the nightmare had been painful and caused a fierce protectiveness towards his friend to spark. Obtaining the chance to hold Tristan was comforting the vampire, but only to a minor degree. When it was mentioned that the blond thought the nightmare was reality, Nathan's embraced tightened around him in a subtle attempt at comfort; although, the comment about being glad at the vampire's presence caused a heart flutter.
"I wouldn't leave you after seeing your face like that," Nathan began gently. "... You said you wanted me here after all... and... I just feel stupid for trying to push you away now... I'm sorry."
After murmuring the comment, the hunter's embrace became tighter since he lacked the intentions to release Tristan at this moment. There was something pulling him towards the blond and the desire to ignore it was nonexistent. Shortly, Nathan began gently rubbing his friend's back in an attempt to sooth and coax him into informing him about the nightmare; people always stated talking about a horrible dream could insist in calming. Before the information could be relayed, the door opened which caused the vampire to immediately glance back towards the servants at the door. A sigh escaped his mouth, being interrupted at this point was a nuisance. When the phone rang, Nathan's gaze lingered there before trailing back towards Tristan which caused his eyes to widen. The expression on the blond's face made his heart ache since he looked terrified of the phone. Upon witnessing the countenance of Tristan's face, Nathan continued to hug his friend tightly in hopes of warding away the fear.
Silently, the vampire watched as his friend answered the phone and attempted to sound brave; a voice tone Nathan was familiarized with after years of attempting to push him away. In the room's quiet, the hunter was capable of hearing the voice on the other line. There was a furious tone edging on the words of the male who was conversing with Tristan, which made the vampire already feel angry with the stranger. Once his friend claimed to be feeling ill, the hunter thought the fury would cease there, but found himself mistaken when there was an uproar. The man's words made the identity clear since it was his friend's father screaming at his son over being sick; even his parents did not possess that level of insensitivity. Shortly, some pieces clicked as Nathan began to understand why Tristan was incredibly worried about work alongside the wrath of his father; although, he was still unaware of the abuse. For a few moments, the vampire stared softly at his friend while the blond hung up and the phone was given a new temporary home on the floor.
"... What the hell is wrong with him?!" Nathan began, clearly irritated by the attitude of Tristan's father. The embrace was once again tightened. "He has no right to treat you like that! If I ever see him, I am going to kill him! How could he even think about hurting someone as amazing as you?!"
There was a pause as Nathan's face shifted from anger to surprise. The compliment about Tristan being amazing was unintentional, but was already thrown into the conversation. A red tint painted itself across the vampire's face as the embrace was tighten in order to hide his face in his human friend's shoulder. Embarrassment occupied Nathan's thoughts over his own words thrown out in a moment of anger. His heart was pounding in his chest and his face felt immensely hot; almost like it had be roasted in a furnace. Comprehending where the sudden surge of emotions erupted from was an impossible task for the vampire, especially since he was not certain what these emotions were. In response to his own embarrassment, Nathan fell silent for a few moments.
Watching Tristan suffering through this nightmare was horrible to Nathan considering. Rapidly, the vampire's heart was beating out of fear for the blonde man that laid next to him. The concerned expression on the green-haired teens face remained as he continued to gently shake his friend, voice lost as he grew upset with the circumstances. Every second caused Nathan's heart to ache immensely as both begged for Tristan's eyes to flutter open. The entire occurrence was torturous, almost as though somebody was playing some cruel trick. Gradually, the quivering settled in as the fear intensified from watching the pained expression. There was a desire to mend those troubled emotions that the blond was clearly going through currently, alas, the vampire felt helpless since unless he managed to wake Tristan up there was nothing that could be accomplished to sooth his friend.
"Tristan... it's okay. Please, just wake up," the vampire whimpered quietly.
When the tears began forming in Tristan's eyes, the hunter's heart began aching further. Witnessing the formation of tears in the blond's eyes was heart-breaking and caused the concern to increase. The frown on Nathan's lips deepened and his eyes glossed over with sorrow as he regarded his friend; watching was painful. Merely pondering the torment his friend was going through within the realm a dreams caused the vampire to quiver more in horror for his friend. Then when Tristan's eyes opened, there was a slight relief in seeing that his friend was awake now. In silence, Nathan stared with the concerned expression remaining on his face and he ceased shaking Tristan. Softly, the vampire brought his thumb to one of the tears and carefully wiped it away as he listened to the blond's comment.
"Of course I am still here, why would I leave?" Nathan murmured in response. "But... Tristan, what happened? I can tell by your face it wasn't pleasant, but you have to tell me... because seeing you like that... it hurt so damn much..."
The quivering waned, making it only slight while the vampire stared at Tristan for a few more moment. In a careful manner, Nathan reached out to wrapped his arms around his friend again. There was hope that holding the blond close would coax the concept of informing him about the nightmare, but there was also a desire for comfort on Nathan's part. After witnessing that horrible moment of sleep, the green-haired teen felt holding Tristan was a necessity; both needed to become calm after all. Steadily, Nathan heart rate began to sooth over the mere factor of the blond now being awake and safe from the horrible nightmare that had clearly plagued him.
Time seemed to tick slower, each passing second of enjoyment in holding Tristan being felt by Nathan. There was a particular nervousness in embracing the blond this tightly, yet, there were mild tones of relaxation in having Tristan melted in his hug. The illusion of time slowing caused the moment to feel spectacular and spark desires of never releasing his friend. Although, as the vampire held Tristan his heart rate continued to feel accelerated, his face still carried an increased warmth and lastly a reddish pigment remained painted across his cheeks to the bridge of his nose. The typical symptoms that had been plaguing the green-haired teen over this period of time and had appeared suddenly after Tristan has awakened from the fainting incident. Despite dwelling in possibilities of where or how these emotions came into creation, Nathan found himself unable to figure it out.
A slight easing transcended over the vampire when Tristan informed him he was feeling a lot better, although, when his blond friend laid his head upon his chest, Nathan had a mental panic. The action caused his heart to begin pacing and his thoughts became apprehensive over the concept of his friend being capable of hearing his heart beat. For a few moments, the hunter remained panicked as he debated a solution to at least sooth his rapidly beating heart. Eventually, he began slowing his breathing which managed to slightly calm his increased heart rate. Once he felt mildly calmed, his gaze trailed downwards towards where Tristan's head rested and lingered there. Staring at his bond friend caused the corners of Nathan's lips to be tugged up into a smile and his arms to hold Tristan as tight as possible without bringing harm to his human friend.
Releasing Tristan soon transformed into the last thing on Nathan's mind since he was concerned that the blond would refuse to allow him to hold him. The vampire craved it immensely as the comfort in embracing his friend seemed to increase the longer it occurred. As Nathan waited for an answer, his breath was bated until being released when Tristan agree to the concept, although, the heat in his face increased alongside the redness. Despite hating the notion of releasing his friend, the vampire's grip gradually loosened to allow him to escape and settle in the bed. Once Tristan was settled, the green-haired teen slipped under the covers and onto the bed, finding his face flushing at the haste of which the blond wrapped his arms around him. The action caused Nathan to feel flustered, yet, happiness intermingled with the other emotion since the action made the vampire feel wanted. Once settled in Tristan's arms, the hunter drew his around his friend and embraced him back which was a comfort.
Being near Tristan was splendid as Nathan found it difficult to keep his eyes from staring at the blond man wrapped in his arms. Watching him doze off being another blessing since the vampire found himself regarding the human in an endearing manner as he carefully tightened his embrace. As he held his friend, he heard a soft rapping at his bedroom door and the creaking of the door opening. Nathan's gaze shifted to witness a servant standing at the threshold, shocked at the sight, but capable of recovering quickly as he inquired the vampire about whether or not he required anything. A simple request of getting Tristan's things was made alongside perhaps getting a water bottle for when his blond friend awakened. Once it was finished, the servant left and Nathan's gaze returned to Tristan where he found himself unsettled by what he saw.
The countenance of pain crossed his friend's face and he appeared a little sweatier than before. Immediately, Nathan's heart skipped a beat while his face lit up with worry. Gently, the vampire's hands moved to Tristan's shoulders to shake him in hopes the gesture would awaken his friend from his nightmarish slumber.
"Tristan?! Tristan?!" Nathan said in a panicked manner. "Tristan, wake up! PLEASE WAKE UP! IT'S OKAY! I'M RIGHT HERE!"
Witnessing his friend's expression was torturous as Nathan found his concern increasing every second that Tristan was not awake and seemed in a horrible position. There was a desire that the vampire held, which was to embrace the blond man the moment he woke and inquire about what had happened. A protectiveness had settled in Nathan's heart when it came to Tristan since the vampire wanted to assure his friend's safety and wanted to hold him close whenever Tristan was upset. He wanted to calm those terrifying thoughts and make his precious friend feel important and cared for immensely; what exactly had come over him? It felt as though viewing Tristan in this instance of pain was tearing away at his heart and making his own worse nightmare a reality, which was definitely a peculiar emotion for the vampire.
There was a mild concern when Tristan had yet to melt into Nathan's embrace, before he had quickly. Worry leaked onto the vampire's countenance as he found himself pondering over whether or not the blond still planned to head to work. Standing had proven difficult to Tristan currently, considering both attempts had resulted in a lack of balance. The concept of him heading to work in his current condition made the green-haired teen feel uneasy since he was aware Tristan required rest. Thankfully, the vampire could ease when Tristan melted in his hug, it was reassuring. A long breath was released as Nathan tightened his grip around his friend, gently rubbing his back to keep Tristan calm in hopes he would not attempt to escape the embrace.
"Are you feeling any better?" The vampire asked quietly.
There was concern in the tones and Nathan kept a tight, protective grip on his friend; he did not desire to release Tristan. Something about holding the blond was soothing since Nathan could feel Tristan's warmth, which left him assured of his friend's safety. Although, there were the strange brew of symptoms that sparked from the closeness which consisted of an accelerated heart rate, a slight heat in his cheeks (turning them a faint pink) and then the most peculiar of all being the sudden self-conscious thoughts. Usually, the vampire was arrogant and believed his owns skills to be perfection, but in this scenario he found himself feeling insecure. It consisted of petty concepts like appearance, attitude and oddly enough the amount of time Nathan was holding Tristan; was this too long? An drawn-out embrace could result in awkwardness or perhaps make Tristan think he was weird; or at least those were Nathan's beliefs.
Shortly, the concerns about the extensive hugging were calmed when Tristan wrapped his arms around him which caused Nathan's heart to flutter. There was still the requirement to obtain a servant, but for the time being the vampire wanted to remain in this position. Fetching a servant could wait, since the hunter reminded himself that the servants would seek him out due to the amount of time spent within his room; he could ask then. As it currently stood, a majority of the time wanted to be spent enjoying this surprisingly wonderful occasion. Making his friend feel better was Nathan's requirement and Tristan had begged him to remain beside him which gave him justification to stay. The moment Tristan asked about lying in the same bed, Nathan felt his face increase in heat. Blush painted the bridge of his nose and cheeks a vivid red as he remembered his agreement that he desired to fulfill. A few moments were given to allow the vampire to calm and reorganize his thoughts.
"I... I would be honored to..." The vampire responded.
Instantly, the blush increased tenfold due to Nathan's word choice; the invisible strings once again acting, but instead pulling him towards what words to choose. Once calmed slightly, his heart still rapidly beating and face remaining painted red, Nathan pulled away from the hug to lead Tristan towards the bed.
"You lay down first, I don't want you to fall if I leave you standing alone. I promise I will join you shortly," Nathan said, attempting to reassure his friend. "And... umm... Tristan? Is... is it... uh... alright if I hold you while we lay together?"
The final question escaped the vampire's lips in a bashful manner which caused it to sound awkward. Embarrassment came across Nathan's face, perhaps he should have remained quiet, however, the desire to hold Tristan close remained. He craved it more than the blood that kept his powers functional despite the unknown reasoning. Either way, Nathan still planned to slip in beside his friend and lay with him for what he prayed would be hours of bliss.
As it currently stood, Nathan was not quite certain why exactly his emotions seemed in disarray currently. There was a settling nervousness and even excitement mixing in with a hint of happiness. Prior to usual, the vampire even felt a little self conscious well he stood in Tristan’s presence. Perhaps his blond friend was sick and it was extremely contagious? Yet, the mysterious invisible threads insisted against the concept; as though some form of magic knew better. In silence, the hunter awaited for Tristan to answer him and while he waited he strangely felt more anxious than those instances prior to battle against terrors. All he desired as it currently stood was to hold close Tristan again; to feel the man’s warmth as he held him in his arms. That was when he heard the answer to his inquiry which caused the blush to deepen and Nathan’s heart rate to increase; it felt as though his heart may beat right out of his chest.
There was hesitation as the vampire began trying to calm himself and lessen the redness of his face. The last thing Nathan wanted to do was make Tristan uncomfortable by blushing too much. Although, the fact that the blond stated that it would make him happy to have Nathan laying beside him. For a moment, the vampire felt lost in these unfamiliar emotions. He was flustered, making bravery scarce for a few moments longer. Though, shortly his courage was found in the thought of being able to hold Tristan close again; he still craved that. Thus, the vampire turn around and upon hearing the sound of movement his heart skipped a beat. When Tristan stood, Nathan was quick to notice his lack of balance and rushed over before the blond could fall back to the cold, unforgiving floor. Instead of letting Tristan fall, the vampire wrapped his arms around his human friend tightly.
“You shouldn't get out of bed, your body is still exhausted I imagine,” Nathan murmured softly. “I was going to come if that is what you were concerned about.”
While Tristan remained near, Nathan’s embrace tightened around him; the vampire did not want to let go. Having his friend this close was sending his heart into a fit, but he was not bothered by the concept. When Tristan was in his arms, it meant that he was safe. The mention of work and the blond’s father being mad caused Nathan to stiffen and make his hug tighter.
“... You are not going to work, not like this. Tristan, you can barely stand without falling. I don't care if your dad gets mad because you can't go in, you should rest…” Nathan began, his voice dripping with worry. “I’ll get a servant to bring your stuff and you can call him. For now… please don't go…”
A quick squeeze was given to his friend in order to emphasize Nathan’s desire for him to stay. Although, he remained clueless to what Tristan’s father did to his son. He merely thought the man would be annoyed that his son suddenly fell ill. Alas, the vampire had no intentions in letting Tristan leave, not well he remained so ill. There was also the matter of the embrace since Nathan found himself unable to release Tristan.
The tight grip that held the sleeve of Nathan's sweater caused the vampire to softly gaze at his friend. Witnessing how much Tristan desired his attention, desired for him to be near sparked feelings of guilt. During those moments he pushed, he never thought about how his friend felt when he deliberately attempted to scare him away. Tristan had been adamant about remaining near, refusing to be frightened by the threatening manner that Nathan acted. It was impossible for the hunter to comprehend the blond's craving for his friendship and support despite his abrasive attitude that was constantly on display. When Tristan whispered, Nathan heard every word of it found himself feeling the sight heat rising in his cheeks. He remained silent, speechless over the comment that has never been spoken to him since the mask entered the playing field.
As he assisted Tristan in standing and helped settle him back into the bed, no words escaped Nathan's mouth. He was uncertain how to respond to the whispered comment and instead opted to work towards making his friend comfortable. Once he managed to settle Tristan on the bed again, he fetched the blankets and gently drew them over his friend's form, making certain he would be comfortable. When he completed tucking the blond back under the comforters, Nathan found his eyes trail towards Tristan's face and lingered there for a few moments before suddenly glancing away. The vampire's heart fluttered over his own actions, why was he keen on staring? Nathan pulled away from the bed, standing tall and inspecting his work at making the blond comfortable. That was when he heard Tristan speak, causing the vampire's gaze to flit back towards his friend's face.
The initial comment had caused Nathan to be slightly confused until the follow up was spoken. Instantly, the vampire found himself looking away speechlessly. Heat was pooling in his cheeks, painting them a vivid red while his heart rate spiked again from words Tristan said. He found his breathing growing a tad more rapid as his thoughts rushed, trying to find a conclusion on how to answer. The sentence suggested that Tristan wanted him to lay next to him, in the same bed. Some invisible strings seemed to desire the concept, enjoying thoughts pondering over holding the blond close to him again. It caused the green-haired teen's face immensely hot, almost like somebody had sudden lit it ablaze. There was a pause of silence as Nathan began to think about the best method to handle this and reached a conclusion.
"... What... um... would you like me to do about that?" Nathan asked in a fluster. "Do... do... you want me to... uh... lay with... you? Cause if it will make you feel better... I would do it..."
Mysterious emotions began to pull Nathan towards the concept of laying beside Tristan, especially since it gave the chance to wrap his arms around the blond again. The very thought caused the blush spreading across the vampire's face to deepen in redness. Slow breaths were shortly taken in a desperate attempt to sooth these skyrocketing emotions that Nathan could not completely understand at the current moment. All the green-haired teen knew is that he desired to be close to his friend.
Upon noticing the curiosity gleaming in auburn-haired teen's eyes, Nathan raised an eyebrow in wonder. Further, the hunter began observing the stranger's expression, noticing as the gradual smile faded as the vampire explained his reasoning for arriving. Was the shy boy not informed that guards stopped by the home? Once again, the green-haired teen found himself examining the younger man with a mild confusion entering his expression; maybe the boy was indeed a servant? It was probably in Nathan's mind since the boy seemed lost about the concept of there being a guard on scene. There was a desire to release an annoyed sigh, but the vampire manage to stifle it and maintain his composed and professional expression. At least the servants that worked back in his abode were thoroughly trained and were aware of how exactly to handle trivial situations like answering a door.
A thought was given towards his deceased brother as Nathan stood, awaiting possible instruction from the younger teen. Would Donovan had been impressed with his brother being handed meager guard duty, or would a flow of sibling teasing arrive should he still be presence? The vampire would presume the latter since his brother always enjoyed teasing; either that or sagely informing that this was merely apart of working. A sadness glazed over the vampire's eyes, causing his gaze to linger elsewhere to avoid inquiries. Only a few moments later were the thought's shoved away with knowledge that pondering them would cause upset emotions to spark. Quickly, his eyes flitted towards the metal accessory dangling from his neck, scoping out the etched name of his brother before pushing the sad memories aside and focusing on the situation at hand.
Alas, the thoughts still danced around his mind, almost as though they desired his attention. However, Nathan's attentiveness returned when the boy spoke, stating he was the grandson of manor owners. Which meant that the stranger lived on the property and somehow managed to be oblivious to past guards of the TRS arriving. Naturally, Nathan was unaware that the stranger was new around Lorsette and that perhaps his family kept certain business-based affairs unknown. Unfortunately, the thought never occurred to him which caused the vampire to be unimpressed to the point that it was displayed on his face. An active member of the family had failed to be inform, which was rather pathetic considering even Nathan managed to retain knowledge about his parent's occurrences. Perhaps this younger boy somehow hated his grandparents more than the vampire despised his parents? That seemed unlikely, thus the older teen just presumed the auburn-haired stranger was oblivious to the regular happenings.
"... I see, hopefully they arrive soon. I hate to be kept waiting," Nathan responded.
Professionalism remained in his tone, but the vampire found it difficult to resist putting emphasis on the word hate. Never being one for patience made him desire displaying his loathing of waiting. Perhaps it could caused the younger teen to rush off and bring them here. Besides, once they arrived, Nathan could start performing his basic duties as the day's guard instead of standing around incredibly bored. When the hunter managed to notice the apologetic look in the stranger's eyes, his expression softened a degree, melting away some of the unimpressed and bored appearance on his countenance. If the younger teen was going to look at him like that, then at least Nathan could attempt to be nicer; not to mention his superiors essentially informed him to 'play nice'. When the door opened slightly further, it granted the vampire a chance to gaze at the manor's interior which looked lavish.
A few moments were taken to quickly scan what Nathan could view through the slight gap, noting the angel stature that kept a valiant post by the stairs. Witnessing the piece made the vampire feel slightly uncomfortable considering his species was associated with the god Volos, a sworn enemy of Akari and oftentimes the species that originated from her lavish world. Were they going to be opposed to a vampire being around? It was a momentary thought, shortly dismissed as he quickly did a mental rundown of the younger teen's (who introduced himself as Alfonse) reaction to his arrival. Although, he had possessed a sheepishness, it seemed more associated with shyness opposed to negative emotions towards the vampire. Either way, Nathan found himself tensing slightly over the concept.
When the auburn-haired teen gave an apology and explained he could not see them, an inaudible sigh escaped Nathan's mouth. The only evidence of its creation being the small, white puff of smoke that escaped his lips. Thankfully, it did not appear the younger teen held the intent of forcing Nathan to wait outside. The door was opened wider, granting the vampire the chance to walk through the threshold and into the warm embrace of the house interior. Once within the home, the hunter brought his hands in front of him, rubbing away the cold. A thought crossed his mind, Nathan realizing he would probably have to work outside which meant he likely required a temperature regulating charm; he would have to text one of the servants when given the chance.
For a few moments, the vampire's yellow-green eyes trailed across the room in curiosity before he turned back to the boy who granted him entrance. There was a silence maintained by Nathan, although, it was shortly ended as his subconscious insisted on his superiors' wishes for politeness.
"Thank-you, it was rather cold out there," Nathan stated formally.
Mentally, the vampire was bothered by the formal attitude he was required to maintain at the given time. The main reasoning the forced behavior perturbed him was because of the pride his parents would possess over the scenario. Their son's professionalism would be viewed as gentlemanly which was something his strict parents always desired to hammer into him, but the rebellious boy rarely listened to their authority; he simply found it better to upset them considering they never actively involved themselves in his life.
[ no problem~ your writing is so beautiful I had to make a comment. c: with mine I just enjoy mentioning other connections since it allows for a behavioral view of the character; kind of a sneak peek to how they may act. also, I enjoy learning about Alfonse too, especially since shy characters are adorable in my opinion. it also helps me think if there are more characters that may fit with him. :3 also, okay~ sounds like a fun time when they do. c: ]
After the initial knock, it seemed that time began passing agonizingly slow as nobody answered the door quite yet. An annoyed sigh escaped Nathan's lips as he scanned the large front doors of the manor. It was a grand display, the kind that the vampire believed wealthier folk enjoyed showing to outsiders. Should he not belong to wealthy family himself, he may have viewed the door as a sign of mockery over the large accumulation of wealth. Even if the time between answering the door and the knock remained small, the vampire's own impatience made it appear as though it was an eternity. As Nathan stood, he seemed to be reminded of the cold weather as blew through and seemed to pass through his uniform with ease. Uttering a curse under his breath, the vampire withdrew his hands and rubbed his arms to generate some warmth.
Instantly, the vampire began tapping his foot while he awaited an answer from the door, his eyes watching the puff of cloudy exhale dissipate into the air while he waited. The vampire's gaze shortly drifted back towards the expanse of land in front of the manor, watching a gardener work tirelessly in the cold. Despite originating from a wealthy family, Nathan could never comprehend why exactly the rich felt it a requirement to upkeep their lawns to the highest degree during the winter months. The hunter watched the snow spiral down from his current position, noticing the silence of winter as he did so. A majority of people remained tucked away in their homes during their downtime and found the cold unfriendly for menial activities. Some explored their options and found enjoyment in winter based activities, but a majority of the people Nathan knew decided to hide themselves away.
Around this time was when his parents traveled most, rejecting the gift of beauty that came with a Canadian winter. As Nathan looked over at the land beyond where the snow remained untouched, shimmering in the slightest touch of light, it reminded him of the intense quiet his home would receive. Even the servants seemed to grow quiet around these times, an oddity indeed, and perhaps it was similar for the Rosevier Manor. The atmosphere in winter passed slowly, like the gently falling snow from the grey clouds above; almost like people needed a mini hibernation. As the vampire stood over-looking the front yard, he heard the click of the door opening. Immediately, he turned to face the door, arms cross and a grumpy expression on upon his face. It did not matter that the answer came in reasonable time since to the green-haired teen it felt like hours.
As the door opened, Nathan eyes seemed to narrow more with the slightest glimmer of curiosity when a teen who appeared a to be younger than him answered the door. The greeting the vampire was given was sheepish, almost as though the stranger was unfamiliar with answering the door; which was something Nathan found strange given the fact he had responded to knocks at the door once or twice. Although, that was oftentimes on occasions when the servants had their hands full and could not open the threshold for themselves. Before even thinking about responded, the hunter's eyes began analyzing the person who answered his knocking. The boy's auburn hair to the manner of which he was dressed; it suggested the possibility that the boy was not a servant of the manor. At least, Nathan was presuming since his parent's servants usually dressed in formal wear to keep an air of professionalism in the house.
Then again, the vampire lacked information about the Rosevier Manor which could mean a number of possibilities; like maybe this home preferred a more familial sense between servants and masters which freed up wardrobe choices. Shortly, Nathan's eyes returned to the boy's face, noticing the sheepish smile.
"I'm the agent they sent over from the Terror Response Syndicate for guard duty," Nathan explained simply. His voice held an air of boredom and mild annoyance. "I would like to speak with a representative of the house to know if there have been any terror problems in certain locations and know if there are exact locations I need to patrol or watch out for."
The explanation was simple, merely the begins of quick introductory conversation alongside to provide the reasoning to the vampire's arrival. As he spoke, he seemed unperturbed by the concept of being referred to as sir considering multiple people who arrived for company parties or meetings would refer to him as sir at times; not to mention he was on duty. The auburn-haired stranger was regarded with mild annoyance due to Nathan's impatience over the wait time. A moment of thought was taken as the hunter realized he had held the behavior of a disinterested teenager, which was an unacceptable attitude in front of his parents and he could imagine would gain similar responses in the house of wealthy individuals; Nathan had the suspicion that guard duty was going to be particularly painful for his mask considering he would be forced to act formally.
"Also, I am Nathaniel Beckard just so you're aware, but you may refer to me as Nathan. May I ask who I am speaking to?" The vampire inquired with some professionalism.
Shortly, Nathan's position shifted so his arms were folded behind his back to gather a more formal atmosphere for himself after his initial introduction. The posture the green-haired teen had was straightened, shoulders facing towards the stranger to give off the impression of open body language. Business with wealthy people oftentimes went smoother with profession attitudes. Yet, maintaining a professional image was definitely not going to be enjoyable for the unfortunate hunter who was commanded into menial guard duty. If only patrolling a manor to protect the occupants could possess a little more flavor of enjoyment, but Nathan would not outright complain. He desired to fulfill what his brother had left behind, to protect innocent people like Donovan and Teresa who had been victims to the cruel creatures Zeredah spawn. Which meant at least with this monotonous duty would be an improvement to sitting at home accomplishing nothing of importance.
[ thank-you, also, sorry! meant to leave ooc notes before, but I don't have a delegated section in my template so I am prone to forgetting them. the starting post was excellent alongside your current one. I love the manner of which you describe things. ]
White flakes danced down from the clouds above, spiraling in the air as they slowly descended to meet their ground bound brethren. The air was brisk, causing the breaths of those travelling by foot to escape their mouths in cloudy, white wisps. Under foot was the gentle sound of crunching snow as Nathan walked down the sidewalk, dressed in his TRS uniform. There was a lacking in altercations to the uniform, leaving it the regular orange on a dark canvas. The jacket's collar had been tugged up higher than usual, resting just below the vampire's chin. Tucked within the jacket's pockets were his pale hands, hiding from the cold conditions despite the temperature regulating charm that wrapped around his right wrist. Gently bobbing against his chest were the silver dog tags, his brother's name chiseled into them and later painted black to allow visibility.
A minor shiver came over Nathan as he walked, suggesting that the charm he wore was wearing out. He could have easily asked for a driver or driven himself to his current working location, but his parents were home. Having a hatred for his parents had caused the vampire to feel uninvited in his own abode. The consistent verbal dueling between himself and his parents made him desire escape and any reasons to be outside the house for long periods of time. They could not argue with somebody who was not around nor who was answering his phone. It was the reason his phone constantly sat on silent in his pocket was to avoid confrontation with his, in his own opinion, insufferable parents. He had decided to slowly walk towards his mission which was to serve as an excuse to leave early instead of spend a longer time within the house's walls.
In silence, the vampire continued weaving down the roads, his yellow-green eyes noticing as people avoided him during his journey to his destination. It proved he was somebody to be feared, and witnessing their avoidance never bothered him; it was what he desired after all. This solitude, although lonely, was the defense for his sorrow-filled emotions to never surface again. Thus, as people avoided him, he flashed the odd toothy grin with his fangs poking out from his upper lip. It always perturbed people after all, causing them to dislike his company entirely. While he walked, his right hands thumbed the handle of his bowie knife, feeling the smooth and polished wooden handle. He was prepared for his mission; he had gone to incredible lengths to make certain that he had not forgotten anything at home. The last thing the vampire desired was to be forced into running home only to be scolded by his parents for not answering their copious messages.
As Nathan walked up the winding path towards the manor, he gazed up at the building the faced the starlight beach. The Rosevier Manor was what the structure was referred to as and from what the vampire knew, they got protection from the Terror Response Syndicate. Being placed on patrol here meant hours of boring guard duty, but those long hours of boredom were better than the headache that was dealing with his parents. As the vampire approached, he regarded the manner with curiosity glimmering in his yellow-green eyes. His superiors had informed him to attempt to be kind towards the family inside, however, that was unlikely to stop Nathan from pushing them away should they try and get too close. There were only a few selected people who Nathan allowed close proximity, and adding new strangers to that list was not the vampires plan. A long exhale escaped the vampire's breath as he drew closer to the manor. A mental checklist was quickly accomplished, Nathan making certain that his hair was somewhat well-kept for the time being.
Based on the manor's size, these people were on the wealthier side of life similar to his own family. Although, his own family were well known business personnel standing on an empire of fortune from the success of the company's predecessors. Either way, the hunter could easily imagine that the house's occupants would not take kindly to a disheveled teen arriving at their front door explaining that he had been charged with protecting them. Once certain that his appearance was maintained, Nathan began to approach the manner in a swift walk. While he moved, his hands did last minute adjustments to his jacket, assuring that there were few wrinkles and that nothing was out of place. Upon reaching the door, the vampire merely stared at it for a few moments before releasing a sigh. His pale hand reached up, balled in a fist while he gently rapped on the front door before stepping back and awaiting an answer.
As the vampire stood, he mentally prepared for who he presumed he would be meeting at the door; which he guessed would be a servant based on the size and the numerous gardeners attending the outside. Naturally though, this was merely a presumption and Nathan was familiarized with unexpected surprises.
There was still guilt lingering in Nathan's emotions as he remained near his friend. Seeing the hand on Tristan's forehead suggested the concept of injury, which caused the vampire to feel more worried about his precious companion. The unforeseen consequences of Nathan's constant pushing made him desire to accomplish all of his friend's needs and make him well once again. That small amount of care the vampire still possessed allowed his more human side to show and allowed him to still maintain a subconscious. His eyes remained on Tristan, listening while his friend stated that that he thought he was alone. That caused the corners of Nathan's lips to tug down into a deep frown; had he actually pushed his friend away to the point where Tristan thought he would simply leave after causing the blond's fainting episode?
The sad countenance in Nathan's face was shortly replaced with relief when Tristan stated he was fine. It mildly relaxed the vampire to hear his friend say that. At least, according to his friend, he had not obtained any physical harm from the incident; it was better than injuries. To further the vampire's reassurance was when he successfully hugged Tristan, feeling him melt into the embrace. Something about being able to wrap his arms around the blond was comforting, the green haired teen feeling calmed holding his friend close. Nathan could only imagine the oddity that was sudden behavioral change, but the vampire felt no need to explain if the blond was not going to question. Instead, he enjoyed holding his friend and when Tristan slowly wrapped his arms around him, the vampire felt himself grow calmer. Being able to embrace Tristan had an effect on Nathan, allowing him to feel better over the incident.
Although, there was a strange feeling transcending over the vampire while he held his friend close to him. Part of him held the desire to never release Tristan from his arms. Furthermore, his heart rate elevated slightly and the vampire could feel a hint of warmth touching his cheeks. It felt as though something was insisting towards the concept of hugging his blond friend; like some invisible rope coaxed for them to be closer. For a few more moments, the green haired teen kept Tristan in his arms until finally realizing he should pull away. Hesitantly, Nathan released his friend and drew away slightly while remaining close to his friend. The vampire's yellow-green eyes began to analyze his companion, making certain that Tristan was not injured from the fall.
"Let's get you back in bed," Nathan insisted gently.
The moment the vampire went to move away from his friend in order to grant enough room for movement was when he felt a hand catch his sleeve. In reaction, Nathan's eyes widened while he looked at Tristan with a befuddle expression written on his face due to the action. He could not begin to comprehend why somebody would be keen on catching his sleeve, especially since his mask pushed them away. There was a lacking of times when that would grant him attention and furthermore his constant pushing caused people to give up on friendship. When the plea was spoken, the vampire swore he felt his heart skip a beat when Tristan begged him to not leave. For a few moments, Nathan was left speechless at the concept; nobody had ever said that to him.
"... Are you scared to be alone, Tristan?" Nathan began quietly. "I won't leave, not unless you want me to. I want you to feel better, and if staying helps with that, then I will be right here whenever I can."
The entire time, Nathan found himself looking directly at Tristan while he stated his promise. He wanted his friend to feel better and would happily stay by his side should that be a method of bringing wellness. Although, the vampire knew he would still have to leave should Tristan need something, or to find a servant who could bring it. For the time being, however, Nathan planned to remain beside the blond.
"Now, come on, let's get you back into bed," he said quietly.
With that said, the vampire slowly reached for Tristan's arm to assist him off the floor. Afterwards, Nathan planned to guide his friend to the bed. Once that was completed, the green haired teen planned to retrieve the blankets from the floor and make Tristan comfortable so the blond could rest. A determined gleam entered the vampire's eyes, he was adamant about making certain that his friend would get better soon and at any costs.
