Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
There were intentions to shove the male away through criticism and seemingly sadistic concepts at the offering of blood. Unfortunately, the vague implications failed to generate any fright, making Nathan's smile drop slightly; could people not take a hint or at least become scared? There were only a select group of people who would favor the sadistic vampire with a response and Tristan was the only individual who managed to get anywhere with it. Although, the hunter shortly found himself amused when the female hastily cut off the male. The redhead sounded possessive and perhaps short-tempered given the immense amount of yelling that she doing. A smirk crossed the male vampire's lips, his fangs poking out from his upper lip. This stranger was attempting to tell him what he could do and there was no possibility that Nathan would obey her commands.
"It's the truth, I already have my eyes on quite the prize. Not my fault you can't handle it, but it was worth a shot," Nathan stated. "By the way, I SINK MY FANGS WHERE I WANT AS FAR AS YOU'RE CONCERNED! Besides, ain't my fault if your man finds me more attractive. Not that I can blame him."
The green-haired teen favored the female stranger with a smirk while he continued smoothly defending himself against the terror. A single troublemaker remained which was an easy task for the full-fledged hunter. The infuriated response that was received after giving the redhead an ill-fitting nickname caused Nathan to chuckle. While he continued the fight, gradually scoring hits on his opponent, the male vampire managed to catch the woman's true nickname as Demy; what exactly that was short for was unknown. The brutal assault on the troublemaker continued, Nathan's superior speed and strength allowing him to accomplish torturing the creature with a frightening ease. Fatal blows were avoided, the green-haired teen deriving enjoyment from the creature's suffering; IT DESERVED THIS AFTER ITS KIND MURDERED DONOVAN! As the brawl continued, there was a complaint towards Nathan's authority in the situation, which resulted in an annoyed eye roll.
"How about this? YOU LISTEN TO THE PROFESSION! Cause not doing that could get you killed!" The sentence arrived in a snappish tone, the male vampire clearly disapproving of the refusal to listen.
The hunter focused shifted back towards the troublemaker, fixating on the enjoyment sparked from damage infliction. The knife comment made by the woman was ignored entirely. There were several gashes, the creature becoming weaker by the second. Nathan drew away, allowing himself a moment to breath in the situation and to analyze the terror's condition. There was still faint hints of strength in it's eyes despite the incredible amount of cuts that adorned its body. A low growl escaped the creatures throat, eyes glaring in search of the male vampire's weakest points, a desperate countenance marking the shadowy face. The battle would end shortly should there be no delays. Then arrived an unexpected distraction as a rock flew through the air and collided with the troublemaker's arm. Abruptly, the creature's head turned towards the redheaded girl.
The hunter's face shifted to panic as the terror's attention was redirected towards Demy. There was a tiredness lurking in the male vampire's arms; he had stepped away with reason.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Nathan yelled. "ARE YOU ACTUALLY STUPID?!"
There was anger covering his voice while he watched the troublemaker charge. Without hesitation, Nathan activated his enhanced speed, rush forward, although, his speed was waning. The creature found an opportunity, alongside a weaker target in the form of a girl with long red head named Demy.
The world seemed to slow, time drawing out the instant that Nathan caressed Tristan's cheek, feeling the soft flesh against his rather calloused hands. Perfect, it was definitely the word that the vampire would use to describe the wonderful person that was his crush. Blood continued rushing to the hunter's cheeks, keeping them a faint red while he stared at Tristan. Once the vampire realized he had left the blond speechless, the corners of his lips twitched, broadening the smile. Each sentence possessed words that Nathan believed his crush deserved to hear; the man needed to be aware of the significance he held in the vampire's mind. Admitting those emotions felt like weights off of Nathan's shoulders; almost as though the gates keeping him from happiness were suddenly opened. The moment of silence allowed for the vampire to reflect on his crush's wonderful qualities; from the sweetness, understanding and attention-seeking attitudes.
Mere thoughts about it left Nathan smiling giddily since he easily found the marvelous qualities attractive. A mixture of nervousness and happiness transcended over the vampire as he remained uncertain of his actions, although, he desired to display his affection towards Tristan. When his lips met his crush's, Nathan felt his heart begin to pound wildly against his rib cage as his anxiousness generated concerns of not properly kissing Tristan. There was a softness to their lips meeting, emotions peaking in excitement from the action; almost like a million tiny fireworks were shot across the surface of their lips. The return kiss increased the blood flowing to Nathan's cheeks, creating a brighter red blush. The arms that wrapped around him coaxed him to return the embrace, pulling Tristan closer. Hesitantly, the vampire pulled away, his yellow-green eyes staring in amazement at the wonderful blond. For a brief moment, he glanced away bashfully, gaze returning to Tristan after a few moments.
"You're amazing... you know that?" He mumbled nervously.
The unfamiliarity he held with the emotions related to romance left Nathan nervous, making him feel lost with the steps taken towards maintaining Tristan's happiness. Despite feeling lost in a vast maze, the vampire found himself smiling at his crush, his heart still beating rapidly.
The initial comment that Nathan had made held the intentions of quieting the bickering couple, which he thought was obvious. Although, witnessing the smirk on the other man's face accompanied by the spoken words made the vampire's eyes narrow. The wink was bothersome, making the flirtatious intentions obvious, however, Nathan only desired that form of attention from Tristan; if only. Tristan was simply the only person who could capture the hunter's attention from a romantic standpoint. There was a newly created objective for the vampire, which was to snap at this man to avoid any possible relationship; or the chance for somebody to be rude to his precious Tristan! With that, Nathan allowed his fangs to show as he glared at the long-haired man.
"Not interested, I have somebody ten times more attractive than you," he began, before smirking sadistically. "But if you mean a literal bite, that could be arranged."
Once the second troublemaker was forced back, Nathan activated his speed, rushing towards the creature with a tight grip on his bowie knife. Before the creature could properly recover, the vampire slashed out, scoring a deep mark on the troublemaker's throat. The terror staggered back, claws reaching feebly before disappearing into ashy pile on the concrete. On most occasions, Nathan would bring suffering upon terrors, but bystanders and two enemies made him wary; especially when they seemed insistent on helping or staying. With narrowed, the vampire turned to his final opponent and heard the petty comment the girl made towards her dress. An annoyed sigh escaped his mouth, the full-fledged hunter rolling his yellow-green eyes.
"Listen, Prissy Pants, if you didn't want to get messy, don't get involved," Nathan commented bitterly. "Besides, if you're really that aggravated by it, I can just manipulate it out of the clothes!"
Before even giving attention towards the answer, Nathan returning his complete attentiveness to the terror. The creature ran towards him, the skilled vampire using his speed to dodge last minute. He feinted to the left, the knife being slashed wildly to create a series of cuts on the troublemaker's forearm. There was a wail of pain, Nathan smiling sadistically while the creature hastily pulled away. Without hesitation, the hunter lifted the previously used blood, making a series of small needles and firing them towards the troublemaker. The hardened bullets of blood mostly hit their mark, make the creature scream while it attempted to retreat from its assailant, but Nathan would not allow that. Enhanced speed was activated, the hunter launching himself forward the slash at the creature more, merely causing damage. With a single opponent remaining, Nathan knew he could act maliciously towards the troublemaker as long as attention was given to his surroundings.
While Nathan remained uncertain of his worthiness as Tristan's boyfriend, the vampire at least wanted to attempt to make him happy. The peculiar love spell that had transcended him after his friend fainted in the front yard as result of a sickness had never ceased the torrent of romantic afflictions. Heart palpitations, blushing and general excitement being generated by the close proximity he shared with Tristan over the passing days; the pair even shared a bed. They were nearly inseparable with the exception of days where Nathan was required to work alongside washroom breaks. Despite the newly discovered closeness they shared, the vampire's mind remained fixated on the days where he would essentially torment Tristan by trying to push him away. If they were going to start dating, Nathan knew he would have to work endlessly to compensate for the horrible actions.
His eyes remained locked on Tristan, watching as the blond disposed of the tissue, revealing the entirety of his face. There was always an attractive essence to the human's face that caused Nathan's eyes to linger. There was reassurance in the nose bleed ceasing, allowing for the vampire to feel calmed about Tristan's health; the guilt remained though. Then the inquiry towards his happiness came from his crush's lips, causing surprise and confuse to enter Nathan's expression. Why would he not be happy? The guilty countenance of Tristan's face made the hunter's heart ache. Only for a few moments did the vampire's eyes remained locked on him, a softness touching his expression while he pulled away from the sink to dry his hands. Words could never describe the intense feelings of joy that would be provided being with Tristan. Slowly, he closed the distance between himself and his crush, carefully reaching out in an attempt to caress the blond's cheek.
"Why wouldn't I be happy?" He murmured gently. "I'm just worried I won't be good enough for somebody incredible like you. So, if you're happy, I would be too. That's all I want for you, Tristan, is for you to be happy."
A small smile twitched across Nathan's lips while he stared directly into Tristan's eyes while he stated every word. There was a fluttering in the vampire's heart, a faint tint of pink colouring his cheeks from the admittance. Time passed, the hunter taking the opportunity to analyze Tristan's face, his heart making demands towards the next action. Despite the nervousness, Nathan carefully leaned in to hopefully kiss his crush. The desire had lingered since the day he cared Tristan through the doors of his home and assisted in making his precious, blond friend feel better.
Uncompromising citizens were always undesirable during this situations, especially for Nathan. The vampire rolled his eyes towards the nonsensical bickering between both parties who insisted on remaining near the danger. A pair of troublemakers simply would not be a problem for a full-fledged hunter, especially himself considering the amount of times he fought these low level fear eaters. There would be no possibility that Nathan was going to allow a troublemaker to kill him anyways; for Tristan and his own sense of pride. The pair's conversation reminded the hunter of the incessant arguing that some relationships would have. A groan of annoyance escaped his lips, this was probably going to be an interesting evening.
"Listen ladies, your both pretty. Now... SHUT UP!" The hunter snapped, attempting to focus on the current situation.
There was no genuine emotion to the words, especially since the title of most beautiful has already been given away to Tristan. He continued manipulating his blood around the terrors, earning their attention as a potential threat. Sharpening and hardening the blood into points allowed Nathan to inflict damage on the troublemakers, making the creatures cry in pain. A twisted smile crawled onto the vampire's face, his open hand tightening the grip around the knife.
"Don't need help. I have enough skill to dispose of these pathetic creatures, so don't you two worry yourselves," Nathan responded.
There was no possibility he was risking the promised kill that the woman had stated. Eliminating terrors was his occupation and something that he took seriously. After a few moments, the vampire withdrew the attack of blood, allowing his enemies to draw closer to him. The wicked smile remained on Nathan's lips as he suddenly sprinted forward with incredible speed, slamming his body into one of the terrors and carving its side with his bowie knife. The creature was knocked back far, unlikely to rise from the position quickly. There was an opportunity taken after the attack, the other troublemaker reaching out with its sharp claws and grazing Nathan's cheek. In retaliation, the blood that continued trickling down his open palm was invoked, forcing the creature back in a surge of red liquid.
Blood was pooling in Nathan's cheeks, making it feel as though his face had been lit on fire. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach, the nervous emotions making the vampire uncertain. Blush painted itself across the entirety of the hunter's face, making it a vivid red. The love confession that Tristan had provided earlier was still making his heart palpitate joyfully over the idea of being with his crush. However, Nathan found himself pondering how his precious crush deserved somebody better than him. Those numerous occasions where he had treated the blond horribly, pushing him away solely from the bitterness that had built inside. While he stood close to Tristan, his yellow-green eyes scrutinizing the man he cared for immensely. Emotions were mingling as the vampire examined the most significant person to enter his life.
There were those underlying fears of Tristan being killed, bringing memories of previous torment from lost lives that were dearly held. Excitement and joy worked in tandem, generating wonderful days spent alongside the man he fell deeply in love with. The blunt comment that Tristan stated increased the intensity of the blush, the red consuming the vampire's face with ease. Bashfully, Nathan glanced down towards the bathroom tiles as his crush continued explaining some of the reasons why he desired to date him. When the blond asked him to say yes, the hunter's eyes flitted back towards the adorable man. Even with the tissues pressed against his nose, Tristan still remained divinely attractive to him. The vampire's eyes lingered, Nathan remaining silent for a few moments as the uncertainty continued. The heart palpitations were increasing, as though insisting that agreeing to the concept was required, almost as though something was pulling him.
Since the initial day that Tristan had arrived at the manor, there was always a mysterious force tugging him towards his crush, as though already aware of the blond's significance. Being around his crush had reminded him how to obtain happiness again, teaching lessons on how to smile and care for another person. The concepts of joy had been lost since Donovan had died, but Tristan's presence was life altering to the vampire. Slowly, Nathan's gaze lifted, narrowly managing to stare into those beautiful brown eyes that his crush possessed.
"... You act like I could say no," he responded. A smile formed across his lips. "Of course I will be your boyfriend... at least... if that will make you happy..."
Stating the words caused Nathan's heart to flutter joyfully, happiness finally conquering anxieties. The smile broadened as he gazed at Tristan and despite those underlying concerns, the vampire found himself delighted.
Self-consciousness had spiked as a result of the situation that Nathan found himself imprisoned in. Multiple times, he has unintentionally brought harm to Tristan which generated concerns over his crush's health and opinions. The current circumstances could never provide a positive opinion, leaving the vampire incredibly nervous. Continuously, his heart ached with worries over any negative thoughts that the blond could possess. Those pains soothed slightly when his crush gave his blooded hand, causing Nathan's heart to flutter. Immediately, the hunter closed his hand around Tristan's, maintaining a tight grip while remaining cautious to human fragility. Slowly, he led the human towards the washroom while feeling the intense pangs of guilt. While he continuing walking towards the bathroom, he found comfort in being warranted the opportunity to hold Tristan's hand; it felt special, sending flutters throughout his chest.
Blood pooled in his usually pale cheeks, turning them a faint red and creating an uncomfortable heat in his face. The thanks oddly increased the blush, making it vivid against his pale complexion. The concept of his crush thanking him after all those negative occurrences was mildly soothing and he prayed that he would be forgiven for accidentally hurting him. Once they entered the washroom, Nathan brought Tristan towards the sink and stared at him for a few moments with a worried expression. When his crush released his hand, the vampire admittedly felt disappointed from the action. Despite the blond having blood on his hand, the green-haired teen still craved an extensive amount of time holding Tristan's hand. Gradually, his eyes flitted towards the hand that held Tristan's, discovering the traces of blood on his own skin. A gentle sigh escaped his lips while he watched the blond station himself in front of the sink to cleanse his skin.
Once Tristan finished, the vampire grabbed one of the remaining tissue boxes and handed a few to his crush before accessing the water himself. While he began rinsing the blood from his hand, he heard Tristan begin talking which earned his attention. The vampire's eyes flitted towards his crush as he grew attentive towards whatever inquiry he possessed. The initial statement that the blond made about caring cause Nathan's blush to increase, resulting in him fixating on the running water over his already clean hands. As the confession progressed, the green-haired teen's blush enveloped his face, going to lengths to reach the tips of his ears. It felt as though his heart was going a million miles a minute with no hopes of soothing. When the question arrived, Nathan froze, trying to process the incredible question that Tristan had asked him.
"... You... want me to be your boyfriend?" He nervously squeaked while his eyes gradually looked towards Tristan. "... I would love to... but why? I have been causing you trouble all morning... I accidentally hurt you..."
The faucet was turned off, Nathan drying his hands on a nearby towel before closing the distance between himself and his crush. Confusion remained in his yellow-green eyes, mingling with hints of concern and nervousness over the concept of being entrusted with the privilege of being Tristan's boyfriend.
Duty called during the Valentine's Day dance considering the concentration of citizens around the city hall. Cold nipped at Nathan while his night adjusted eyes gazed around the streets, a TRS uniform hugging his slender form. In a scabbard by his hip was where his faithful companion was stationed, his precious military grade bowie knife. The radio buzzed with traces of activity, hunters, scouts and medical staff exchanging words while he wandered idly searching for a terror. Energy was pumping through the male vampire's body as he craved for a brawl, making him lurk around like a predator on the hunt. Eyes narrowed, the distance between himself and the dance closing as Nathan glanced around with a boredom clouding his yellow-green eyes. In complete honesty, he had wanted to spend the special date with his precious friend, Tristan, but unfortunately hunting was his occupation that dragged him away.
As he slowly walked, shoving his hands into the depths of his TRS coat pockets, the radio sparked to life. The voice of an unfamiliar woman came over the line, the voice explaining a situation at city hall concerned him. The hunter assigned city hall had been killed, resulting in terrors generating panic. Immediately, the radio was grabbed with his slender hand, bringing the device to his lips while he mentally mapped out the direction.
"On it, just hold tight and find a safe place," he informed professionally.
Once the radio was secured to his waist again, Nathan activated his enhanced speed and began to run towards the location. While he sprinted forward, his eyes darted around in search of the mentioned terrors. As he drew closer, he noticed the struggle had strayed from city hall, two citizens fighting the creatures. Gunshots cracked through the air, causing Quickly, his hand grabbed the knife from his belt, bringing it towards his pale flesh. The blade was brought down, biting through plush skin and sparking an acute pain in the male vampire. A flinch crossed his countenance, the pain never becoming something the green-haired teen was accustomed to. Without hesitation, he gained control over the reddish liquid that oozed from the cut, dragging out more and surging it forward. Similar to red claws, the blood reached out, the hunter's capability in blood manipulation being shown.
"YOU TWO! GET OUT OF HERE!" Nathan called towards the pair of citizens.
A duo of troublemakers were nothing for a full-fledged hunter, Nathan being aware that he could defeat these creatures. A smirk appeared across his lips as adrenaline began pumping through his veins. Finally, the boredom had vacated and the hunter finally discovered his prey.
Guilt continued ruining Nathan's mood, making his stomach churn with paranoia over Tristan beginning to hate him. Imagining the amount of blood pouring from the blond's nose made the vampire's heart skip several beats in concerned. The imagery occupied his thoughts, causing the green-haired teen to increase his efforts in running faster while maintaining a tight grip onto the bag holding the tissue boxes. Servants gazed upon his panic, lifting eyebrows to the peculiar behavior of their master. Seconds were passing, the vampire hastily drawing closer to his doorway, to his crush who awaited him. Unexpectedly, a familiar shape entered the hall and Nathan attempted to halt his extreme-speed run, but to no avail. The force of stopping through him into the man who entered the hallway, both falling towards the floor in a mess with the vampire on top.
The tissues had tumbled to the floor, sliding across the polished, wooden surface. With panicked clouding his yellow-green eyes, Nathan stared down at Tristan, the individual he crashed into. The guilt increased as the hunter realized what he accomplished and noticed the heavy bleeding of his crush's nose. Despite the grin and words, the vampire immediately felt his heart drop from witnessing the blond's nose bleed caused by him.
"Oh my god... Tristan I am so sorry! I didn't mean to..." He exclaimed, desperately attempting to apologize.
When Tristan mentioned heading to washroom then tissues, Nathan vigorously nodded while moving to allow the human up. Once the vampire returned to his feet, he offered his friend a hand up. There was no concern about getting blood on himself, they were heading to the washroom and he could always manipulate it off of him. An apologetic expression remained on Nathan's face as he stared at Tristan.
"Here, give me your hand and don't worry about the blood, I can wash it off," Nathan stated quietly.
Patiently, the vampire waited for Tristan to hopefully take his hand in order to lead him towards the bathroom. While he awaited for the human's response to the gesture, Nathan was pondering several ways to apology and make retribution for the trouble he caused. The concept appeared to be the correct option and the hunter's primary desire was to make his crush happy.
There had never been an instance that Nathan could recall where he physically harmed Tristan. A strange sensation sparked from wounding his crush, a phantom pain erupting, but ignored in favour of worrying. A tight grip was maintained as the vampire scrutinized his crush's face for any signs of bleeding, however, it was difficult since Tristan was holding his nose. Softness mingled with guilt in Nathan's yellow-green eyes as he stared at the blond. He felt horrible for his instinctive defending. Even when Tristan stated he was alright, the green-haired teen maintained a concern countenance. Heart rate has skyrocketed for the vampire due to his numerous worries over Tristan's health. There was a smile on his crush's face, but it failed to comfort the vampire.
When Tristan lied, Nathan was quick to notice as red dribbled out from his hand. The phantom pain continued, almost to insist that his crush was wounded badly. There was mild relief when the blond asked for the tissues, granting the hunter the privilege to retrieve them.
"Stay here, I will go get some," Nathan stated hastily.
Without waiting for a response, the vampire released Tristan, using his incredible speed to exit the room for tissues. He rounded the corner into the dimly lit corridor, heading in the direction of a small storage closet between the washroom and his bedroom. The door was quickly opened, Nathan nearly slamming it into the innocent hallway wall. There was a plastic bag that possessed 5 tissue boxes and in his rush, the vampire grabbed the entire bag. Once safely in his grasp, the door was slammed shut in a rough manner before the vampire used his superior speed to rush down the hallway and back to his precious Tristan.
Carefully, Nathan's eyes scanned the large, dark room with ease due to his night vision. Currently, the vampire appeared to be the on inhabitant of the room which brought the question of where Tristan had gone. There was mild concern and disappointment in his crush being absent from his room considering his longing to see the beautiful man. The wonderful company that Tristan provided always soothed the hunter while being separated caused anxiousness to spark. A soft sigh escaped Nathan's lips as he began to walk towards the bed, deciding to rest while he waited for his crush's return, although, he was unaware that Tristan was sneaking behind him. As his human crush drew closer, Nathan began to realize that he was not the room's only occupant.
The sudden smack aimed behind him was because of his hunter instincts taking hold of his body. After around a year of hunting, Nathan hated the concept of a terror managed to ambush him which gradually transformed into a paranoia of sorts. Once the damage has been dealt, the vampire swiftly turned to face a presumed assailant only to discover his crush holding his nose. Immediately, Nathan's heart rate spiked as the realization arrived that he had injured Tristan due to his paranoia. The cheerful greeting sparked feelings of nervousness despite the tone; he felt guilty. Wounding an important person definitely did not impress said individual and the vampire was growing concerned that his crush would dislike him for the smack. Hastily, Nathan rushed towards Tristan, gently reaching his hands out to touch his crush's shoulders.
"Tristan?! I AM SO SORRY! I DIDN'T MEAN TO HIT YOU!" The vampire stated rather loudly, his tone making his guilt obvious. "Are you bleeding?! I can get you some tissues if you need! I'm so sorry!"
There was a mild tone of panic in Nathan's voice as he attempted to apologize for accidentally hurting Tristan. Concern marked the vampire's countenance as he tried to check if his crush had a nosebleed. The guilt continued gnawing his mind, the green-haired teen feeling horrible for injuring his precious Tristan.
After the exhausting hardship of a recent mission, Nathan slowly opened the large manor doors to reveal the lavish inside of his home. Slowly, he entered with a duffel bag strapped to his back and a small bandage covering a tiny cut on his right cheek. Behind, the doors closed with the assistance of servants, others hastily approaching their master to take the duffel bag that contained his dirty uniform alongside the knives that required washing. Passively, Nathan allowed them to, feeling joy over having the weight taken away. A black t-shirt covered his torso, his arms being covered by the camouflage hoodie he oftentimes wore. His pants were simply jeans meant to be fitting for the attire he chose; he wanted to make certain his appearance was well-maintained considering his favored house guest.
A lip-tight smile crawled onto the vampire's face as he walked towards the stairs that led up towards the upper floor where the bedrooms were held. The manor gradually grew into a happier place with Tristan around, the servants even appearing more relaxed around the sadistic hunter. With somebody incredible like his blond friend around, Nathan found it easier to enjoy time spent at home and around the man he was crushing on. Focusing on everything bad was difficult when Tristan around, which made the vampire favor the human's company. A week had passed since the fainting incident, days being spent at home to tend to the blond while he was ill; only recently had he returned to work. Hastily, Nathan ascended the stairs towards the upper floor, making a quick effort to make his way towards his room. The familiar door was opened into the dark room, although, the vampire frowned at his discovery.
"Tristan?"
The call was given as Nathan began walking around his room. Immediately, the vampire's eyes wandered the room in search of his crush, hoping to see his beautiful face and hear his wonderful voice.
The probability of releasing Tristan was decreasing the longer Nathan embraced him. Clinginess was growing, the vampire even snuggling his human friend for a few more moments. This close proximity was becoming addicting, the green-haired teen desiring more as time passed. Protecting this precious, wonderful man within his embrace was necessity, although, the vampire was growing concerned over his newly created addiction. The idea of Tristan getting injured or killed was haunting his mind, causing his embrace to tighten and his body to tremble slightly. Anxiety sparked over the concept which furthered his desires to protect Tristan, even from the menacing nightmares that tormented the blond's sleep. Gently, the vampire's hand continued rubbing his friend's back in a soothing rhythm to attempt to quiet those frights that lurked during slumber.
The sign of appreciated displayed in a thank-you caused a blush to faintly touch the vampire's cheeks as he continued hugging his friend. Another soft snuggle was given towards Tristan as Nathan used the opportunity to hide his flushed face from the beautiful eyes of his companion. Mentally, the green-haired teen was admitting his attraction towards his closest friend which increased the blushing. Dots were beginning to connect as the vampire slowly began arriving to the conclusion of his possible crushing on the adorable blond. Every aspect that Tristan possessed seemed to obtain a high quality of attraction to Nathan, going to lengths to be considered perfection. When the coughing started, the vampire peered down towards his crush with a worry glaze in his yellow eyes. Witnessing his friend under the duress of being ill was causing a mild heartache for Nathan which generated more determination in making his friend well.
When Tristan began snuggling him again, the vampire's face transformed into a deep red colour. Instinctively, Nathan found himself nestling up closer in response, his grip around his human friend tightening.
"You sure? If you need anything, you can always ask, Tristan," Nathan murmured softly.
A nod was the vampire's response when Tristan mentioned trying to fall asleep again. A protective embrace was maintained as Nathan quietly awaited for his crush to drift into a slumber with intentions of perhaps joining him. Waking up early was beginning to display its effects, leaving Nathan drowsy as he continued the hug with Tristan. The green-haired teen snuggled Tristan again, finding a comfortable position for sleep should it be warranted and patiently waited for his crush to sleep.
There had never been a moment when Nathan's bed had felt this immensely comfortable to him. Usually it remained the trivial place for the weary teenager to spend hours slumbering until time arrive to be roused, however, now it was transforming into a warm, soothing place with Tristan beside him. Having his closest friend near was alluring and caused the vampire to begin snuggling in even closer. It was almost instinct to nestle up against the blond, he was simply enjoying it. Being safely in imprisoned in Tristan's embrace was delightful and peculiar since people rarely hugged him. It was reasonable for others to avoid embracing him considering the attitude he displayed towards them, but it appeared that his friend had broken through his shell. There were a few thoughts taken towards wondering if he would allow anybody else to capture him in an embrace, but the chances seemed unlikely; Tristan was special.
The gentle squeeze made the vampire, the blush upon his face deepened further since Nathan believed it symbolized that Tristan liked that he was against the notion of separate rooms. The confirmation was given in a whisper, making it obvious to the vampire that he made the blond happy with what he murmured, although, it made his blush and heart beat increase tenfold. There was no possibility that the green-haired teen would desire the concept because his friend was an improvement to his room's atmosphere. Instead of the usual grim ambiance, it shifted into a friendlier and happier environment. Even the silence contained hints of bliss from Tristan's presence; it was heavenly.
The instant that his friend's voice lowered, containing hints of fear, Nathan tightened the embrace again and gently rubbed Tristan's back to comfort him. It became obvious when the blond began shaking that the nightmare's claws continued to keep a firm grip on him. A worried expression entered the vampire's face when he regarded Tristan, his embrace remaining tight.
"It's okay... I promise I will keep you safe," he whispered. "I won't let anything hurt you, Tristan. It will be okay."
There was a soothing tone to Nathan's voice as he spoke softly to his closest friend in an attempt to calm him. Witnessing his friend become frighten from the dream was concerning to the vampire, his fears orbiting around the concept of Tristan putting his health at risk to avoid sleep. Thoughts pondered about how terrifying Tristan's father was to create this fear of falling asleep, but did not linger long. Gently, the green-haired teen rubbed his hand through the blond hair his friend possessed in hopes of maintaining his attention. It became obvious that Tristan's temperature had become higher, which made Nathan frown. The pale hand of the vampire slowly moved towards his friend's forehead for confirmation for the fever.
"Do you want to try eating then? I might ask them to bring you a damp cloth while they are at it," Nathan said.
He continued to softly rub Tristan's back while he waited for a reply with hopes it would relax one of the most important people in his life. Working towards making the blond healthy was a goal gaining more determination with each second. When the coughing started again, Nathan loosened the grip slightly to allow his friend room to cough.
Despite the consistent blushing from Tristan's comments, Nathan remained relaxed in the mutual embrace. The hug possessed felt like a sanction from outside world, allowing the young vampire to actually display his true personality. There was also the contribution of the flattering words that made his heart palpitate whenever the blond teen would state them. Then the sublime view of Tristan's face was already breath taking, making it incredibly difficult to sooth the nervous flutters of his heart or banish the red blush from his face. Perfection was gradually becoming the descriptive word for the current scenario; him laying with Tristan, caught in a heavenly embrace. When Nathan was informed that apologies were not necessary because his company on other occasions was redemption for missing birthdays, the vampire blushed immensely.
"... So sweet..." He murmured quietly on accident.
Resisting the charming blond has already proven difficult, but it was transforming to impossible from spending time with Tristan. The possibility of remaining in the position for infinity was a pleasant thought as Nathan found himself relaxing more with his friend's arms wrapped around him. As the embrace progressed to snuggling, the green-haired teen found himself blushing a vivid shade of red. Despite the flustered emotions it brought, the snuggling brought further comfort in the embrace as Nathan found himself automatically snuggling back. There was an adorable quality to Tristan desiring to proceed with the intimate action and it made the vampire feel cozy beneath the blankets. Shortly, Nathan began nestling up closer to his friend with the intention of maintaining the blissful close proximity. The agreement to share rooms caused blush to deepen in colour on the hunter's face, but a grin remained on his face over the concept.
The statements against being given a separate room, even going lengths to say the option was nonexistent, caused Nathan to blush deeper. Gradually, the red flush on his face managed to reach the tips of his ears, making his fluster more obvious. After a few moments of silence, the vampire eventually recovered enough to regain his voice.
"I'm glad the option doesn't exist," he mumbled softly.
When the words were said, the vampire's face returned to a deep red colour as he realized what he said. Those mysterious strings that appeared to tug him closer to Tristan had returned, insisting on making the comment. With them brought more desires of cuddling the blond through the nights and returning the blushing favor, almost as though those concepts suddenly mattered. Comprehending the emotions still remained immensely difficult for the green-haired man who had never felt his heart dance around or his face reach intense heats because of a plague of red colouring. Once again, Nathan's breathing was slowed as he tightened the embrace which strangely worked as a method to calm the palpitations of his heart. Shortly, his mind returned to the notion of his friend's sickness and the requirement to make him healthy again.
"Hey, Tristan, do you need anything? Like are you hungry or need some rest? You are sick after all," the vampire inquired gently.
Fending off the malicious germs that decided to make his friend ill was the current mission and once completed time could be taken to solve the mysterious brew of emotions. Attentively, Nathan listened for whatever his friend may request and was prepared to summon a servant should it be required.
