Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
[attr="class","ayab-text"]Ziya grinned at the girl's reaction to the joke. Anyone that found her funny had to be her friend. And anyone that didn't find her funny had to learn to find her funny or put up with her because they had to be her friend too! When it came down to it Ziya was determined to make everyone her friend. The more friends the better. After all, friends gave you food when you finished eating your lunch and they didn't want to. And they told jokes with you! There was nothing better than a friend. Except, maybe, teasing her older brother with her endless puns. He absolutely hated them. She didn't understand how; he heard enough of them that he should have developed a tolerance by now. [break][break] Fließend? The word immediately broke her thoughts as she picked it apart, determined to identify it. "That means fluent, right?" she asked, proud of herself for making an at least semi-realistic connection. "Sorry, I just know the important things. Which was that." There was a glib note in her tone, as though just knowing a joke was something to be proud of. And to her it was. She believed humor was the most important thing to be able to translate over other languages. It was the entire reason she liked languages, to see how different words could go together to make a joke. [break][break] But if she knew more of the language she could make more jokes. "Oh but we can change that! You should, like, totally teach me!" she said eagerly. "Please? I'm a fast learner, and we're friends now so you have to help." Maybe she should have felt bad for using friendship as a reason to demand foreign language lessons, but she was more focused on the fact that she'd made a friend and she wanted to be able to communicate better. Plus it would be so much fun! [break][break] "You can teach me German and I can help you with English!" she added, eyes lighting up as the thought occurred to her. She wasn't sure the other girl had said she couldn't speak English - she hadn't been paying enough attention - but she didn't really care. There was always more to be learned about a language. "It'll be fun!"

[attr="class","ayab-text"]Ziya was blissfully unaware of the awkwardness that struck the boy or the fact that she should be cringing at her own boldness. Rather, she saw his smile and in her head she was already celebrating making a new friend. They’d be good friends too. She didn’t know how she knew, but it was as clear to her as the sky was blue. [break][break] She brought herself back to attention, determined to hear out what her new friend had to say as she munched on her pretzels. It would be rude to ignore him. Try as she might to focus, one particular thing he said hooked her mind, drowning out the rest. "You mean it? You'll share?" she asked, eyes lighting up. [break][break] The boy was talking again, starting off with something about food before quite suddenly changing the subject away. Probably smart. Talking about food always seemed to make her hungry. As he talked she finished off the small bag of pretzels and grabbed the next morsel on the tray - a bowl of chopped up carrots. She was sure her dads would be happier with that than most of the other food she had. She had nothing against fruits and vegetables. In fact, most foods were equally appealing to her, save for truly disgusting things like watermelon. It was just that things like fruit snacks were easier to transport than their natural counterparts. They didn't get bruised as easily, and they didn't go bad after a few hours out of the fridge either. Not that most food around her had to last more than a few hours. [break][break] Shib finished his line of speech and Ziya swallowed her bite of food so she could respond."No need to be nervous! Or to thank me! I like making new friends. Friends are fun." she nodded as if to confirm her own point. She had a lot of friends, but they were one of those things you could never have too many of. Before he got a chance to respond, she'd moved on. "Shib Parker. Shiiiib... a Inu!" A grin brightened her face as she chuckled at her own bit of wordplay. "Well, Shiba, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Ziyanda Blane. Most people just call me Ziya, though."
