Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
He has been doing good, but he doesn't seem to like the idea of school or anything like that.
We bought him some, I want to get him more though. I know it isn't much, but I want to get him something that makes him comfortable so maybe it is easier for him to go to school.
Idk. I am just thinking like a lucky sweater or something.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Silently, Orion prayed Elysia failed to notice his rude staring. A conversation was occurring, therefore, perhaps he gained the fortune of the pleasant young woman being fixated on his aunt and mother instead? Throughout Elysia's farewell, Orion struggled to gaze towards her out of concern she would be disturbed by the officer's earlier stares. It was just... there was something special about her soft features and wavy ginger locks... The thoughts were shoved away as Orion's cheeks turned a soft shade of red.
The benevolence she displayed, the grace of her actions and endless amounts of sweetness inside Elysia impressed him. Since the situation with his father, Orion had believed there was nothing positive about supernatural individuals. Everything his father accomplished was for malicious purposes... He crippled his mother and nearly murdered him back in those twisted days. Yet, people like Elysia and Bosco were proving those beliefs should perhaps be spared of heavenly species, at least, if his suspicions on Bosco's species was correct.
As Elysia finished her farewell, Orion's steel-blue eyes returned to her, observing as she left to exit.
"Alright, thanks again," he said in her leave.
When Orion finished telling Elysia goodbye, he returned to the conversation with his aunt and mother. Plans were being formulated accompanied by calls and research in hopes of keeping Bosco safely in the country.

[attr="class","carvetext"]Gratitude over Elysia's offer to assist with Bosco could not be expressed by Orion. Her overwhelming benevolence always amazed him, making him thankful to successfully procure her friendship despite her race. Compared to Hell species, Heaven species always tended to display more amiability in the human's twisted experiences. His demonic father was a malicious beast towards him and his mother, but people similar to Elysia displayed boundless amounts of kindness with their words. Either way, her willingness to help was something that warmed Orion's heart.
The physical reactions he possessed towards the gesture reigned victorious over his body. A rapidly beating, warm heart, redness developing on his cheeks and nose bridge and the heat he discovered in his face. She offered it without hesitation, her smile holding cheerful connotations to her wishes to assist. Fortunately, Orion's mother thanked the ginger-haired woman for his offer, because in his present state, the dark-haired police officer discovered himself incapable. Rather than speak, he admired her, noticing her long eyelashes, brilliance in her eyes and magnificent tresses of hair.
The RCMP officer remained in his trance until muffins were mentioned. Redness furthered as Orion blinked some extra times; how long had he been staring?! Immediately, he glanced away, hoping to avoid any opinions of being creepy.
"Y-yeah, thanks, Elysia... I... will make sure to let you know... Have a safe trip home," he responded in his fluster.
Awkwardness dripped from his voice, the type of embarrassment manifested from one's emotions towards another. Alas, Orion proceeded to fail in giving a name to these feelings. He found himself concerned with the impression his words would make, specifically the nervousness possibly causing negative feelings towards him. Regularly, the officer was not insecure about his actions, but around Elysia, things felt different... an indescribable kind of different.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","carvetext"]Perplexed expressions adorned their faces as Orion's mother and aunt concerned themselves with the additional matters tagged onto the situation. Meanwhile, the police officer was more worried about Bosco's well-being in the current moment. Plenty of stress had burdened the child's shoulders when he discovered the truth in regards to the blond's species. The young boy had endless anxieties weighing down his shoulders, things Orion worried about being Bosco's "brother". Carefully, Orion kept his grip on Bosco, hoping it would keep the young boy comforted.
A glance towards the blond created a realization about what they provided him. They failed to grab the shifter his muffin and hot chocolate. Once again, the dark-haired man adjusted his grip, grabbing a blueberry muffin and passing it to the young shifter. When his former dog grabbed the muffin, Orion adjusted back to his sturdier grip while Bosco enjoyed the delicious treat he deserved. Yet, a flustered destiny awaited him when Orion's ears heard Elysia mention she wanted to assist with the situation.
Redness consumed Orion's face as he glanced away, heart beating rapidly from Elysia's seemingly endless benevolence. Beneath the suffocating embarrassment was an appreciation for Elysia's attitude towards the situation... She was so nice and genuine about helping the problem presented to them. A gentle smile touched his aunt and mother's faces as their eyes landed on Elysia.
"Thank you," she answered, voice soft and appreciative.
The RCMP officer merely nodded in agreement, heart still racing inside his chest. There was always a reaction Orion felt whenever Elysia displayed her sweetness... however... he failed to comprehend the reason behind it... Yet, each time he found himself welcoming the emotions and enjoying her company, as though the flustered reaction was worth more than gold.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","carvetext"]Uncertainty formed in the pits of Orion's stomach as he held little Bosco, refusing to release the young blond. Gradually, the dark-haired man adjusted his grip on Bosco, hoping the former dog would not be bothered. Wide eyes stares were locked on them, bewildered countenances on his aunt and mother. They were not expecting to arrive home to this type of situation. Nobody would have suspected something this peculiar to unexpectedly happen to any family. Only the gods or seers could have predicted this set of circumstances.
These messy situations soon resulted in their confusion crumbling to concern. The number of actions that needed to be taken would become a lengthy process. Beyond doctor's appointments and citizenship, there would also be school registrations and establishing a bedroom for the former dog. If Bosco was a young boy, he required a place to have privacy and enjoy his own space along with a proper bed. Both Erika and Melody wanted to speak, however, words were caught inside their throats as thoughts were organized.
The police officer's eyes locked with the ground, occasionally glancing between his aunt and mother and the kitchen floor. While Bosco was no longer a dog, they could not throw him out...
"But he is still Bosco... I want to help him," Orion quietly commented.
The pair of woman Hollins nodded at Orion's words, a soft sigh soon leaving the lips of his mother.
"Then we should take him to make sure he has Canadian citizenship and get him that if we need to," Erika began. "I imagine some special exceptions can be taken since you are registered as his owner for when he was a dog."
The dark-haired, young adult nodded at his mother's words. The process would be lengthy, but necessary to assure Bosco could remain in Canada. Then there would be piles of other requirements to assure Bosco's stay and his safety. The human's grip tightened on his dog, relief washing over him from being told his aunt and mother wanted Bosco to stay.

[attr="class","carvetext"]Their conclusion of Elysia and Bosco being siblings was forged by the fact they never observed the St. Bernard’s human form. The latest memories of Bosco was the dog lounging in the house with Orion while they were shoved out the door. His mother and aunt were perplexed when Elysia denied a connection with the blond child. Their eyebrows were raised as they looked between Elysia and the young boy. There were hardly any similarities, but they held no other possibilities for the boy’s presence. Then he heard those words from Bosco’s mouth in regards to his desires for blueberry muffins.
Shock cracked onto Erika and Melody’s face as their gazes landed on Orion and Bosco. The dark-haired man flinched from their dumbfounded stares. The situation was difficult to explain given how long they believed the blond boy was a St. Bernard. Whoever heard of these absurdities? An animal was known for several years morphing into their human form suddenly? It was improbable. Dog food hardly tasted delicious, therefore, most would expect a human posing as a dog to only accomplish that goal should they originate from a pampered household... Yet, here the police officer was, holding Bosco in his arms as a human.
"Uh... yeah... This is Bosco," Orion began hesitantly.
A sweet voice gained his focus, the blue-steel eyes of the police officer landing on Elysia. He nodded to the long-haired woman offering to get the consumables Bosco wished for. Awkwardly, Melody glanced between the pair, thoroughly confused by the situation.
"This... boy is Bosco," she murmured slowly.
The dark-haired man nodded. "Elysia and I saw him... he changed into this form..."
Both Melody and Erika's eyes met, confusion mingling with concern. The young blond shifter was Bosco, Orion's precious dog and closest friend. There would be questions and a situation that required sorting, for example, the paperwork declaring Bosco as a Canadian along with doctor's appointments. The circumstances were messy, thus, they needed to organize Bosco's life to assure he could live safely in their household.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","carvetext"]A time would arrive where Orion could dedicate precious minutes teaching Bosco to walk, however, not today. The young blond entered an anxiety-inducing situation and the dark-haired man hoped to ease any tension. Sadly, the circumstances were stressful, especially after the illusion of Bosco being a dog was completely shattered. Their relationship would change, similar to the family dynamic of the Hollins family. There would be another son in the household, at least, Orion assumed given Bosco's age.
A smile curled onto the dark-haired man's face as he nodded at Bosco. Making the struggling shifter walk felt wrong especially when there was plenty more to explain to his mother and aunt. There was only a single prayer, that his mother and aunt would take the peculiar situation well. Nobody would have expected the St. Bernard to suddenly become a young boy. Slowly, the police officer leaned closer to pull Bosco into his arms. Alas, he was forced to pause when he heard Bosco inquire as to why he was required to hold still.
"I'm picking you up. I don't want to drop you," Orion explained quietly.
Afterwards, Orion picked up Bosco, holding the young boy close to assure he would not be dropped. Once his arms were secured around the blond, he carried him out of the room. From there, he heard the shifter's question, causing Orion to pause. If he was no longer Bosco's master, then what were they? Shortly, a smile played onto the dark-haired man's lips as an answer was discovered.
"No, we're brothers. That is something better," the officer assured with a grin.
As they exited, Erika and Melody's eyes turned wide, flitting between Orion, Elysia and the mysterious boy. The trio paused before chuckling, believing the adolescent could be Elysia's brother or something similar. The human listened as Elysia greeted them, the pair smiling at her.
"Hello, are you and your brother heading home?" Orion's mother asked, believing Bosco was a sibling of Elysia's.
The smile on Orion's face broke into a flinch... The situation would not be easily explained, especially with everybody considering Bosco a dog. Silence consumed the young man as he attempted to find the words to explain the peculiar circumstances.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","carvetext"]Coaxing Bosco into walking was proving to have some difficulties from the former dog's fears. It would be a required task because of the conditions and social norms of modern society. Unless somebody was in animal form, they would regularly walk on two legs rather than hands and knees. Then again, how would somebody react discovering Bosco pretended to be a regular St. Bernard for years? There were few cases Orion heard of about animal shifters hiding as their shift. The notion genuinely worried Orion about what would happen to his former dog, however, he first needed to get him out of his room.
Beyond the room, the sounds of rustling bags crept through the door of Orion's room as his mother and aunt brought in a few groceries. They were organizing everything they brought home, meaning they were standing in the kitchen, likely confused by the container of blueberry muffins. There was discussion followed by his aunt calling his name down the hallways. It was probable his aunt and mother desired his assistance unloading groceries, they always did; perhaps it was among his duties as the man of the household.
The dark-haired man's gaze returned to Bosco, listening as the young blond decided he no longer wanted to walk. A frown nearly touched Orion's face until he heard Elysia state the former dog could still try the hot chocolate and have a blueberry muffin.
"You don't have to walk, just hold still," Orion said as he slowly kneeled.
The police officer scooped up the adolescent, his strong frame allowing him an excellent grip on Bosco. When the blond was a St. Bernard, Orion would sometimes pick him up to carefully tease him. A firm grip was attempted before the ravenette stood at his full height with plans to carry his dog out of the bedroom.

[attr="class","carvedesc"]
How long do I have to prove myself for you to finally see that?! I work harder than anybody else, but you just keep dragging me down!
[attr="class","carvenotes"]Zephyr Wolfe & @bosco Orion here to save the daaaaay!
[attr="class","carvetext"]Originally, RCMP Officer Orion Hollins was on duty, patroling the streets and waiting to discover if trouble would strike. Throughout the morning, he worked, responding to calls with his partner and while watching the world around him. Radio static would occasionally reveal a location they needed to investigate. The day was nothing eventful, however, as a law enforcement officer, Orion would not register any complaints about the notion of a slow work day. At one point, the dark-haired, young man and his partner stopped for lunch.
During that time, the radio static was not the call responded to. Rather, the sound of his aunt's ringtone filled the squad car. Without hesitation he answered, providing his aunt with a greeting only to receive upsetting news. While unloading groceries, Bosco had managed to slip out the door and escape. Only moments later did panic ensued and his partner agreed to drop him off at home before contacting the station and asking if anybody else was available. Upon getting home, Orion leaped out of the vehicle, hurrying across the lawn and to the garage.
As he entered, the door between the garage and the house opened, revealing his distraught aunt.
"I'm so sorry, Ori... He slipped right past me," she explained, ashamed over the situation.
The young man quickly grabbed the helmet to his motorcycle, strapping it on. His main concern was finding Bosco before his precious dog got hurt or worse.
"Don't worry, aunt Melody, I will find him. Just look around the neighbourhood, I will try the rest of the city. My partner said they would check while on their way to the station," Orion explained quickly.
The dark-haired officer grabbed the handles of his motorcycle, clicking the button to open the garage. He hoped the sounds of his motorcycle would gain his dog's attention. With that in mind, Orion startled the engine and headed out to try and find Bosco. He did not even change from his police uniform in the hustle to try and find his dog.
------------
Hours were spent attempting to find Bosco but to no avail. The situation was frustrating, but Orion was hopeful after somebody in his squad called and stated he saw the St. Bernard near the TRS building. Thus, the dark-haired man moved quickly, taking the appropriate roads until finally arriving at the infamous Terror Response Syndicate headquarters. The police officer pulled into the parking lot and paused, praying his dog was somewhere nearby. The helmet was slipped off and beneath his arm, meanwhile, his other hand raised.
"Bosco! Come here boy," the dark-haired officer called.
Patiently, he waited, hoping to receive some sign of his dog being in the area. A bark would even suffice given the situation. He just wanted to take his precious friend home before dark. He believed his companion would be hungry, especially since Orion was feeling the discomforts of being hungry; he skipped lunch to come home and find his dog.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
[attr="class","carvetext"]The reality of the situation had entered Orion's mind quickly, prompting his reactions. The young, blond boy was originally his precious St. Bernard he cared through for a majority of his life. While a wariness settled in the pit of the RCMP officer's stomach, he shoved it aside. For years, he despised supernatural species after the brutal injuries his mother was forced to endure. The hellhound father he had was a cruel man, somebody who merely cared about his well-being rather than his young son and devoted wife.
Yet, a new wonder entered Orion's mind as he worked with Elysia to help Bosco. Were only hell species the despicable ones? The ones who committed endless atrocities because of the strength in their abilities? Based on the magic being displayed by Bosco, the young boy was some type of shifter meanwhile he was aware Elysia was a familiar. Then again, undead and other earth species could prove problematic... Furthermore, there were cases of twisted heaven species believing their actions to be divine rather than murderous...
At this moment, Orion's opinions were difficult to state as he watched the young woman who made his heart flutter and the dog he cherished. He listened as she supported Bosco, a sweetness to her voice as she encouraged him to try again. The officer kept hold of the blond's hand while Elysia spoke. A gentle smile crawled onto his lips as he listened.
"It will be okay, buddy. We gotta do this together, alright, Bosco?" He said softly to his former dog.
If Bosco was beyond scared to try walking again, then the law-enforcement officer would pick him up. Chances were, his aunt and mother were wondering where the St. Bernard and his owner were.
