Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Bosco had been laying around in his bed, but when Orion had left this morning he once more found himself alone. Each time, he found himself staring at the door, awaiting for Orion to return back to him. Though it didn't come, he had heard footsteps coming to the door, Orion's aunt had gone to the grocery store. The door had been pushed open and he had crept outside. Normally he was on good terms, going outside when Orion was home to keep an eye on him. Orion's aunt hadn't noticed him go outside and when she was on her way back outside to collect the rest of the groceries he had bolted down the side walk. Screams could be heard upon Orion's aunt realizing that Bosco had escaped from inside the house. He had caught Orion's scent and been headed in his direction. Though it wasn't long before his stomach started to rumble and he paused in his trek for finding Orion to try and find something to eat. There were plenty of options but none were willing to share with him. He was after all only a dog. Slowly he made his way around the city, coming across the TRS HQ.
A few people had gone inside and he had crept behind him until he was inside. Orion's scent seemed to fade and he realized the mistake he had made upon going inside here, though something delicious seemed to be coming down the hall and he headed towards it, unaware it was the cafe. He had gone inside, seeing plenty of people but once more found himself surrounded be people unwilling to share. He had caught the attention of a few people but instead of sticking around to find out what the hell they wanted, he bolted back out of the cafe and down the hall, heading towards the east wing. As he neared, he noticed the strong scent of food, some of which was on a nearby counter. Zephyr was in here, currently looking the opposite direction as him. He crept along the floor, once in reach he would steal the delicious food on the counter, carrying it to a nearby crate he climbed inside before munching on it as he hid from view.
Zephyr was deep in thought, and his nose was running like a kitchen faucet. Why had the dispersal device exploded? He glanced at the ruptured handheld device, designed to spray a scent numbing chemical into the face of terrors, or other scent sensitive threats.
Absently, the Dire Wolf Shifter reached back to where his sandwich, roast beef and swiss on a marbled rye bread, with spicy brown mustard, should have been sitting.
Instead he found only an empty plate. Turning to the empty plate he growled. His eyes tracked left, then right.
"Roland...I swear to Saint Helen one of these days im going to bolt you to a concrete block and drop you into the Marianna Trench."
He then spotted the dog in HIS crate, with HIS food. Of course, normally this elicit a response of anger, but the submissive way the dog held itself did much to cool his head.
"I dunno who let you in here, pup, but this isnt a safe place. Also, thats my food you are eating."
Bosco had snatched his sandwich from off the plate, carrying it in his mouth as he crawled into a crate before slowly setting it down so that he could eat it. He listened as Zephyr started talking, shortly after noticing his sandwich was nowhere to be found. He had heard moment, ignoring it briefly to try and eat more of the sandwich. The words reached his ears and he looked up to see Zephyr was looking right at him. Fear entered his mind, his heart beating faster at the idea that he had just been spotted and Zephyr would capture him. Zephyr's words went in one ear and out the other. His only mindset was not being captured, wanting distance between them to remain. He inched farther back in the crate in that attempt for distance as his breathing increased.
Zephyr noticed the fear and sighed. While he was not a 'peopley' sort of person, he did get along with most animals. Shifting a but more than his usual, going from fully human, to having ears, a tail, and a fine coating of fur on his arms, legs and face, he reached for his Zoopathy.
"Hey, if you're hungry, you just need to ask. I can get you something. I'm not going to hurt you."
Zeph reached into the small countertop fridge he kept on his work bench and pulled out a package of thinly sliced smoked ham, some cheddar cheese slices, and a loaf of bread. He waggled the package of ham, his own special recipe, smoked in his personal smoke shed.
Bosco hadn't planned on coming out, his breathing becoming fast as his fear increased. Though strangely enough, seeing Zephyr shift slightly had slowly started to calm him down. He remained quiet as Zephyr started talking to him once more, watching as he reached into a fridge before pulling out a package of ham, cheddar cheese and a loaf of bread, wagging the package at him. Slowly he crept forward, biting into the sandwich he had placed in the crate, slow to trust Zephyr despite his breathing slowly down. At first he thought Zephyr was terrifying, now he wasn't sure what to think, it would all depend on what he would do next.
Zephyr eyed the dog, carefully slicing the ham and the cheese into smaller bits. He set the smaller pieces into a bowl, which he gave a quick rinse in his shop sink.
Setting the bowl down, he turned to make his own sandwich. Normally he would be getting by with energy drinks and protein shakes...but a certain fox shifter had gotten him suddenly interested in healthier living.
He grabbed another bowl and set it down filling it with water, while he grabbed a pitcher of iced tea from his fridge.
Bosco watched as Zephyr sliced the ham and cheese into small bits before setting the pieces into a bowl before placing it in front of him. He leaned forward to sniff it before slowly taking a bite. Another bowl was placed next to him and he paused to look at it before resuming his eating. Within a few minutes, he paused before sipping some water before resuming to eat more ham and cheese from the food bowl, finding it as delicious. Thoughts of Orion or his family worrying about him had since left his mind as he became contact with his current situation.
Zeph watched the dog eat for a minute, before returning to his project, and his sandwich. Why had the device exploded? He poked about the fragments before he spotted the issue. Corrosion on the upper seal. Hmm.
He picked up the seal, and dropped it into a beaker of the compound he had devised. the compound began to bubble and froth, and the seal began to break down.
"Huh. The compound reacts with the aluminum, oxidizing the metal, breaking the oxidized layer down, and the oxidized layer reacts further with the compound, causing it to convert a gaseous state. So i need a new material for the container."
He tested a few different metals before determining he would have to change the compound itself, as it did the same to every metal. At the very least he had found an interesting way to get past metal locks and bars. Iron in particular broke down rapidly with the compound. Maybe he could even device a grenade using a glass tube, and a thin steel shell. Toss the device, the impact breaks the internal glass, the device explodes into a nose numbing cloud.
Bosco found himself enjoying this place, being around Zephyr even though he had barely just met him. It wasn't long before the small bites of ham and cheese were eaten up and he was licking his lips before sipping some water. Once he had his fill, he laid back down, listening as Zephyr worked but remaining in the crate, not interested in getting too close to him. He was feeling somewhat sleeping even though this wasn't his home. The thoughts that had once left his mind had slowly crept back in and he couldn't help but become home sick without being near them. The only problem was, he didn't know where home was from here even if he wanted too. He whimpered, feeling lonely, wishing Orion knew of his location to take him home.

[attr="class","carvedesc"]
How long do I have to prove myself for you to finally see that?! I work harder than anybody else, but you just keep dragging me down!
[attr="class","carvenotes"]Zephyr Wolfe & @bosco Orion here to save the daaaaay!
[attr="class","carvetext"]Originally, RCMP Officer Orion Hollins was on duty, patroling the streets and waiting to discover if trouble would strike. Throughout the morning, he worked, responding to calls with his partner and while watching the world around him. Radio static would occasionally reveal a location they needed to investigate. The day was nothing eventful, however, as a law enforcement officer, Orion would not register any complaints about the notion of a slow work day. At one point, the dark-haired, young man and his partner stopped for lunch.
During that time, the radio static was not the call responded to. Rather, the sound of his aunt's ringtone filled the squad car. Without hesitation he answered, providing his aunt with a greeting only to receive upsetting news. While unloading groceries, Bosco had managed to slip out the door and escape. Only moments later did panic ensued and his partner agreed to drop him off at home before contacting the station and asking if anybody else was available. Upon getting home, Orion leaped out of the vehicle, hurrying across the lawn and to the garage.
As he entered, the door between the garage and the house opened, revealing his distraught aunt.
"I'm so sorry, Ori... He slipped right past me," she explained, ashamed over the situation.
The young man quickly grabbed the helmet to his motorcycle, strapping it on. His main concern was finding Bosco before his precious dog got hurt or worse.
"Don't worry, aunt Melody, I will find him. Just look around the neighbourhood, I will try the rest of the city. My partner said they would check while on their way to the station," Orion explained quickly.
The dark-haired officer grabbed the handles of his motorcycle, clicking the button to open the garage. He hoped the sounds of his motorcycle would gain his dog's attention. With that in mind, Orion startled the engine and headed out to try and find Bosco. He did not even change from his police uniform in the hustle to try and find his dog.
------------
Hours were spent attempting to find Bosco but to no avail. The situation was frustrating, but Orion was hopeful after somebody in his squad called and stated he saw the St. Bernard near the TRS building. Thus, the dark-haired man moved quickly, taking the appropriate roads until finally arriving at the infamous Terror Response Syndicate headquarters. The police officer pulled into the parking lot and paused, praying his dog was somewhere nearby. The helmet was slipped off and beneath his arm, meanwhile, his other hand raised.
"Bosco! Come here boy," the dark-haired officer called.
Patiently, he waited, hoping to receive some sign of his dog being in the area. A bark would even suffice given the situation. He just wanted to take his precious friend home before dark. He believed his companion would be hungry, especially since Orion was feeling the discomforts of being hungry; he skipped lunch to come home and find his dog.

Bosco heard the call from down the hall, ears twitching as he recalled the familiar voice from his master. Zephyr's voice caught his attention, he barked, nodding his head up and down. Yes, yes that is my name. He thought too himself, moving out the door after Zephyr had opened it. He barked once more, hopeful that Orion would hear him and come too the location his barking had come from. Where are you master? Can you hear me master? I'm here.... Granted I'm not sure where here is... Please find me, master. He thought to himself, slowly creeping down the hall, careful too walk slowly as too avoid possibly ditching Zephyr.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Uniform still wrapped firmly around his body, Orion's eyes scanned the area while he listened to his surroundings. A frown traced the officer's lips as he prayed for something to assure him of Bosco's presence. Finally, he heard a distant bark, Orion's lips gradually curving into a thin-lipped smile. Hastily, the human officer carried his leg over the motorcycle and onto the sidewalk. While his species made it impossible for him to understand the barks, the RCMP officer was under the impression it was his dog.
The peculiar source area of the barking hardly entered his thoughts, rather, he wanted his dog back. The young st. bernard slipping past his aunt in search for him was not unusual. The large dog was quick and when Aunt Melody was walking in with groceries, grabbing his collar was near impossible. Her hands were full and when Bosco searched for him, the young man proved quick. Hastily, he walked up the sidewalk, hope enveloping his heart. Despite his precious canine being in a building, which was strange, Orion hardly cared as long as he found him safely.
"Bosco! I'm coming, boy!" The shout rumbled from his voice as he attempted to find his dog.
The RCMP officer quickly hurried towards the building. A smile gracing his lips as he approached the front door to open it up into the secretary area.
