Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Wolma believed it to be a great idea to attend a blind date event, it would be a way for her to interact with other people that weren't her classmates or rather rude neighbors. Despite not being able to speak the native language of most people here, she relished in the opportunity to see new faces. Unfortunately, she'd never been on a date before, and had no clue what to wear to such an event, so she just decided on a fancy looking dress, which in reality was just a simple green dress with yellow highlights; something to match her naturally yellow eyes. The dress stopped just below her knees and had no sleeves. She also wore no shoes nor jewelry, as both of those things would only restrict her and the plants that made up one of her hands and legs wouldn't quite like it too much. There was only one thing that concerned her: how would others perceive her unnatural look? After all, she did only have one human foot and arm, and was partly covered with living plants. Shaking off the thought, continued onwards.
On her way to the event, she made haste as to not keep whoever was waiting for her waiting long. If possible, her goal was to get there as early as possible. She only knew two things about the event, that there would be food and skating, and she enjoyed both of those things. Arriving at the outdoor rink, she struggled a bit with the person running the front desk. To no one's surprise, they didn't speak German, which was the language she spoke, whenever she could. It was broken German, only being capable of saying one or two words at a time before straining herself, but German none the less. Thankfully, the person behind her acted as a translator, and in no time, she had a neat little nametag with her name on it as well as a note with the name of the person she was paired with. "Chihaya", a name she didn't recognize, which made her all the more excited.
Wolma began to walk around looking for the person named Chihaya close to the entrance. As she wanted, she was fairly early, which meant she could easily locate and find the person she was looking for. Having no better idea to do this, she began to show the name to any and everyone that walked through the entrance. Eventually, in her mind, she would come across Chihaya, and her evening would begin.
Luckily for Wolma, the person she ran into didn't seem to be hurt in any way, in fact it seemed to be quite the opposite. Sprouting a very small smile in response to her apology, she stood up on two feet as to not make the situation any more tense than it had to be. While she had no way to verbally say that the collision was her fault, she could try her best. Before she had a chance to, however, the girl in front of her asked if what she said was of German origin. She nodded with haste, only hoping she knew what Wolma meant. Her hastiness faded as she asked about English. She understood it, but speaking it? A whole different concept altogether. She growled lightly, making it known that speaking English was a no-go, for the most part.
The girl in front of her appeared to be extremely excited to show Wolma her German tongue, and honestly, so was she. It's been years since she heard someone else speak it, and she knew for a fact that there wasn't many who spoke the language in school. After hearing her tell her joke, Wolma couldn't help but burst out in laughter... but no sound came out of her mouth; a silent laugh, one could say, brought to life by her motions.
Her hands were wrapped around her stomach as a few tears began to stream down her face. The pirate joke was extremely cheesy to her, but a joke was a joke, and she liked puns of all kinds. After calming down, she nodded her head in approval. The girl's German wasn't bad, Wolma was impressed she could speak it well enough to make a joke, and hoped that wasn't the extent of her speaking.
"Flie.. ßend?" Wolma asked, wondering if she was a native speaker. It took her time to pronounce each syllable with her damaged vocal cords, but luckily she managed to get the word "fluent" across. Her big yellow eyes stared at her with an unreal amount of interest to see what she would say next, but Wolma didn't forget about class. Moving to the side to see the rest of the hallway, she pouted as she remembered just how lost she was.
It isn’t an uncommon thing to see the curious and easy-going Wolma running around school grounds on all fours, absolutely and hopelessly lost. Class started around half an hour ago and she had no idea what to do. Sprinting past a teen couple that hurled insults and curses at her behavior, she ignored them and kept running, stopping in a hallway slightly out of breath. It was there she decided to rest, sitting as a wolf or similar canine would on the cold tiled ground. As she did, she looked down the hall, twitching slightly. It seemed endless, almost like it was a highway to hell... or in this case, a hallway to hell...
Wolma remembered clearly what she was told just two days ago by her professor, and while the major class project didn’t concern her, meeting her partner for it did. She knew no one that would willingly work with her and put up with her rather overly-attached nature, and this fact disheartened her a bit. Leaning against the wall, the nature friend inspected her clothing, wondering both how she’d find her partner and why the professor paired them up, knowing Wolma couldn’t write or speak the language of the other students.
Shrugging the thought off, she stretched and continued on- still on all fours- down the hall. However kind or cruel her partner was, she was excited to meet them. She didn’t have many friends, nor people to show off to, so any chance at a normal day was one she was of course going to take. The green bundles of plant-magic around her lower body and arm suddenly sprung to life, moving like green waves on her form, and alerting her of the presence of another student.
Skidding to a stop, she put her hands up in defense, barely getting out a shaky “Mir leid!”, roughly ‘sorry’ in the only language she could somewhat speak: German. Wolma remained on the ground, looking at her fellow student, wondering if she was in any way hurt, staring for an excessively long time at them before nodding. She didn’t see anything, but if they were injured, she’d heal them later.
Due to the plant entity apart of her, which is really her gift in physical form, Wolma has a few extra features than an average human, all allowing her to blend in with forest environments. From top the down, Wolma's hair is greyish color that appears dark green during the day and dark blue at night, however the first thing one may notice is her big yellow eyes, one of her only features that stands out anywhere. On the top of her head is a third eye. When closed, it looks like a cross ( + ), and when opened, the third eye is revealed, also yellow in color. When it comes to her body, Wolma is partially covered in a plant substance. Thicker and smarter than normal plant life, they cover up or replace damaged parts of Wolma's body, from her arm to her foot and even vocal cords. Green in color, they also allow her to blend into forests and green flora more easily.
As for clothes, Wolma's not a fan of them. In fact, she'll refuse to wear pants, but does wear shirts that often get torn up extremely quickly, most of her money going to buying new ones. Dresses however are fine, as they don't restrict her or the plant on her. She wears no shoes due to having only one human foot, and no gloves. Wolma does however have a bellybutton piercing. It's unknown how in the world this happened.
Wolma cannot use this ability by herself. Due to Wolma's injuries and trauma, her magic awoken and manifested in physical form on her body (the green, plant like things around her arm and lower body), both giving her unique powers as well as hindering her. Wolma is at her best when with another, and will "attach" herself onto them, usually by climbing on their back.
Wolma is able to copy the nature of any animal, plant, or object she has recently touched and apply it to someone else... however Wolma doesn't gain anything herself. (Example: Copying a frog will allow enhanced jumping to whoever Wolma's attached to.) Wolma must be constantly making physical contact with the person she wants to give the copied nature to at all times and cannot copy Gifts nor Race Abilities.
The copied nature remains in effect until Wolma runs out of magic to sustain it, which is around 10 minutes. Afterward, she must rest, and is completely unable to move. If she takes considerable damage before the ten minutes, Wolma's unable to use any magic/abilities at all for the remainder of the day; the plant life around her will not allow her to.
Nature's Protection "A ward again imminent danger."
The third eye on Wolma acts as a catalyst of power, allowing her to better aid whoever she's currently attached to and increase her six senses, however she has to charge this ability up first.
When Wolma believes she's in an undesirable spot, she's able to channel magic through whoever she's attached to. Their eyes will glow yellow after thirty seconds, signaling enough of her magic is inside them. Afterwards, either the person she's attached to or Wolma herself is able to use Plant Manipulation (control over plant life such as flora and trees; nature) to create shields and walls. Their senses are also enhanced to match Wolma’s.
The longer Wolma channels her magic, the more plant manipulation that can be used. This does however strain her body: the longer this ability's used the more fragile Wolma's body becomes until she's as durable as a leaf.
Natural Love [Weak] "To sustain, unconditionally."
Wolma is able to ease the pain of anyone she's attached to or is touching, and heal them. To do this, Wolma first channels her magic through them, transferring their pain and injuries to herself, where they're then gradually healed by the plants on her body. Wolma cannot heal fatal or lethal wounds (such as vital organ damage, decapitation, missing limbs, etc.), but can ease their pain. This process takes a total of ten minutes or more, depending on the injury. This ability is most effective in the forest or near plant life, where healing times are increased dramatically (less than ten minutes).
backstory
[I.]
Deep in the forests exists a girl of green who lived with the trees and flora. Placed there in her early pre-teen years, she never knew her biological family nor ever met another human or inhuman being. Instead, she was raised by the animals she came across, most of them being wolves, foxes, and other canines. Strangely, they paid her no heed nor tried to harm her. They only treated her like their own.
She learned how to hunt for her food with them, but upon getting her first kill, the sight and scent of blood deterred her from ever willingly harming another living thing just for eating or sport. Instead, she opted to eat berries and fruits… a vegetarian at heart.
One late night, she and a pack of wolves she was traveling with decided to target a nearby camp for food; for the young girl, hopefully, fruits of some kind. Attacking with swiftness, the wolves tore apart anyone near the camp while she snuck in, looking for things to take back with her into the woods. She, unfortunately, wasn’t successful. Unknown to her, the pack she came with was defeated by the more heavily armed persons at camp. They snuck up behind the girl and as she turned, one fired the shotgun they had in hand, blowing her shoulder almost completely off, hanging only by a few strands of flesh and tendons.
Writhed with pain, she let out a scream before passing out completely. This wasn’t the end for her, though… she had a unique gift she didn’t know about and was entirely dormant due to her never being in such grave danger. Her life was saved in her state of unconsciousness by some strange magic in her body preventing her from bleeding out. Coming to her senses, she found herself strung up: both arms were tied tightly to a wooden post in the middle of a clearing. Her feet were tied as well so she couldn’t move an inch. Doing the only thing she could do, she turned her head to check her surroundings. They were still in the forest, to her relief.
Watching as the men and women around her spoke in a language she couldn’t understand, she waited for what was like an eternity until they finally all nodded their heads and turned back towards her. Had her fate been decided? Trying and failing to make out any words she could, she watched again as several pulled out their weapons while the rest approached to cover her eyes. The last thing she saw was the glow of a silver eye before a part of her arm was sawed off, purposefully slowly. The poor girl screamed out over and over to no avail. In the group’s eyes, she had to be punished for supposedly leading a wolf raid against their camp, and the Wilderness was the best place to carry out such a punishment. As they carried on, she collapsed, the pain being too much for her.
~~
When she again opened her eyes, she found herself someplace new, this time in eyeshot was a road, further out more people… she was closer to civilization. Head burning and inspecting herself, she found a green-colored, plant-like substance that took the form of her lost arm. She found more covering her waist and parts of her leg, wrapped around like bandages. Getting to her feet, she also noticed that her entire right foot was also covered in the pant stuff, however, unlike her hand which has some resemblance to a human hand, her new foot had three “toes” and was a bit bigger than her left normal foot. What exactly happened, and what was this stuff on her? She had more questions than answers at this point.
The day turned into a week, and the week turned into a month as she wandered her new home, getting used to her new features and surroundings. She occasionally got herself into trouble with the wildlife: they were no longer friendly to her, instead, they seemed very defensive, and every time one approached with ill intent, she felt an urge inside of her, a feeling that instructed her to survive. Whatever was on her was adamant about protecting her from danger. It took her a few long and painful years to understand it as much as she could. Eventually, it became part of her daily life.
Now fifteen, a few of her facial features changed slightly: her eyes became wider and bigger, her senses increased, her hair grew out and down far past her waist, strange triangles appeared on her face and around her neck, and lastly, she gained quite literally a new, third eye in the center of her face. At first, these new changes terrified her, she didn’t know what she was turning into, but gradually she accepted the change and carried on. It took a few months, but she was inevitably found by another group, but this time they had empathy. Taking her in, they attempted to speak to her to no avail. They spent the remainder of their wilderness trip aiding her in any way they could, always allowing her to go out back into the treeline as to not make her believe she was their prisoner.
Rather quickly, she trusted them enough to follow back into Lorsette.
It was a short journey, but they finally reached the west side of Lorsette, and the group’s first objective was to get her a name. While watching her run around in the forest, they saw how the canines in the area either completely avoided her or ran with her, and so settled on the name Wolma. Afterward, Wolma and her new people spent the next two years teaching her modern English and German, since the group was mostly German. Lastly, she learned ASL upon the discovery that her vocal cords were severely damaged and replaced mostly by the same green stuff around her body, only enabling her to emit growls and other aminal like sounds.
Learning German proved to be extremely useful, as for some reason she couldn’t speak a word of English but could speak simple German words with a bit of difficulty, the plant substance in her throat seeming to allow it.
Wolma was now eighteen, her three years with the group was well spent as she was enrolled in school, but has a poor attendance rate due to her often getting lost. She was given a small two leveled apartment, the entire building bought out by the german group she was with, and that was where she lived when not in school. The group she called family had to return to Germany, but promised her they’d return one day. She was alone again. This proved to be a difficult thing for her, as most of the people she approached fled in fear or mocked her for her animal-like behavior, even when she tried to act “normal”. It definitely didn’t help that she had some sort of living plant entity around parts of her.
Undeterred by any of this in a major way, she continued on, now wandering Lorsette for someone new to call “family”, or even find a significant other to spent time with. All Wolma wants is an easy life and an actual purpose that isn’t school, and she’d continue her life until she achieved that, setbacks like abuse be damned.

- Natur is German for Nature... good job Germany - Wolma dislikes running on two legs, and prefers running on all fours - DO NOT let Wolma drive or do anything similar. She must be accompanied by someone else.
