Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
The instant Jagger had the smallest hint of understanding to Wolma's plight she eased up, smiling ever so slightly. She was happy he understood how concerned she was and happy her hug was returned at the very least. Upon hearing that bruises wouldn't stop him, she nodded. That of course didn't mean she wouldn't get concerned and heal those bruises.
"Haut... ist jetzt... schale," she explained slowly so her words were clear, as clear as they could be with a damaged voice. As she said each foreign word she pointed to the turtle's shell, then motioned to Jagger's skin, hoping he understood. Even if he did not, if he fell again it would be made very clear. Copying the awkwardness of his laugh, she scooted backwards a little on her knees.
Wolma growled happily to no one in particular, the strange noise coming from her mouth being one of content after hearing the genuine apology from Jagger, nodded intensely with a smile. "Du tust weh..." Wolma said quietly, reaching with her plant hand to touch Jagger's hand, "Wolma heal," she finished, placing her more human hand on her chest where her heart was. "Wolma only wogrr!"
Hearing that her last word, "worried", didn't come out as intended made her face flush light red. Often she disliked how difficult it was for her to communicate; often times her new friends left her due to her growling non-words. Nevertheless, she tried again. "Worr...ied. Worried."
Wolma held on with a big smile, enjoying the soft wind hitting her as Jagger sped along and across the rather peaceful Meadow. Much to the sentient flora attached to her, her beloved(?) gift, she wasn't using so much magic that it would attempt to stop their fun, instead it was focusing it's efforts on not dying via falling off his back. The flora pinched Wolma, earning a shrug from the German girl of nature. She was having fun with her new best friend.
She emitted a high pitched growled in approvement at his words of praise, only making her even more adamant that the day didn't end prematurely and they found the treasures they sought. As Jagger shouted with victory, Wolma simply hugged his back, approvingly nuzzling his neck as any canine would do to a member of their pack. Some habits never leave...
But when she looked up again, the sight she saw wasn't a pleasant one any of her eyes. Both she and Jagger hit the ground in a tumble. It wasn't a hard impact, but it was enough for Wolma to go on red alert. The third eye on her forehead opened, it's golden ire staring at the earthbound Jagger with concern. Rolling to her hands and feet, she quickly moved up towards him, her face riddled with sorrow. Was this her doing, did she make him go too fast? Quickly she sprang into action: she instantly saw her friend get to his feet; she with soft hands sharply pulled him back down to the ground, giving him what amounted to a death stare... but in a far more concerning way. She didn't want him moving before she was done, that much was clear.
Wolma then went in for a hug. If she was successful, she would maintain the tight hug, channeling more and more of her magic through him until his injuries appeared on her body, and he was healed. Not only that, she released her grasp on him, found a nearby tortoise, and showed it to Jagger with a nod. Placing it down carefully, she took his hand and held it, again pouring magic through him, giving him the attributes of the tortoise. The impressive shell that was the animal's primary defense was now his own... Wolma made sure to ensure his skin copied the shell's properties to a Tee. Satisfied, Wolma sat down on a soft patch of grass across from Jagger, waiting for any sign of well being.
"Leichtsinnig!" Wolma said, the most clearest she's ever said a word that evening. 'Careless'... in German, yes, but her facial expression and tone made the word's meaning clear. She wasn't too thrilled at her friend being injured but his carefree and friendly attitude about it forced Wolma to hide a mirrored and mutual smile.
That's right, Wanderer's Meadow, a name often forgotten to Wolma but familiar is more ways that weren't words. It was one of the areas in Lorsette where she shined the most; if she didn't want to be found she wouldn't be found, and if she wanted to use Naturfiend to the best of it's ability, here was the perfect place. Flora and Wolma just clicked well, and finding something cool like treasure sounded delightful to her.
A big smile made it's way onto her face, but she covered it with a green hand. Nodding repeatedly, she channeled more magic through to Jagger, increasing his speed. What fun would it be to brush along the tallgrass and leap over fallen trees on a wonderful day like this? Much to the flora attached to her's absolute dismay, Wolma was being her usual clingy, carefree self.
"Will... be fun." She attempted to say to the best of her abilities, trying not to use too much of a different language so he could understand her.
"Naturfiend?" Wolma would repeat in response to the murmur, holding tight as they began their trek to... somewhere fun no doubt, occasionally ducking her head to avoid harmless leaves overhead. Racing through her head were different locations to visit with her new friend, but for now she was content just wandering. It wasn't like they were or going to be lost...
"Where... to?" Wolma asked Jagger through her normal broken stutter, wondering where exactly he wanted to go and itching to use more of her gift Naturfiend; mostly to impress him. It was important to keep the friends you make right?
Wanderer's Meadow, a place she should know very well if the fiend she called a gift was anything to go by, but she smiled away anyway knowing it probably wouldn't help due to it's cautious nature, beaming with energy. A new friend is a family friend, especially in her natural environment. Again she mimicked Jagger and put her hands on her hips, nodding.
Not missing a beat, Wolma sprinted the moment he turned to begin the trek, jumping, aiming to hop on his back and never let go. If she suceeded, she'd feel almost weightless to him.
"Naturfiend," she'd say, as she began to channel her own magic through Jagger (despite there being nothing to heal or transmit), pointing like a child for him to go eagerly. If she failed in her jump, she'd simply land softly on the ground, tilt her head, smile, and point in the direction he was going, ready to go in no general direction.
Wolma growled happily at her new best friend's excitement, bouncing up to her feet and clapping her hands... although it didn't sound like clapping, more so soft leaves rustling in the wind. It wasn't often she had the chance to use the flora on her for it's healing capabilities on other people. Granted, she also didn't quite understand why other people didn't have their own living nature attached to them.
After all, wasn't it common for gifted humans to tragically lose a limb or two and get it replaced with the wildlife around them? Most likely not, but Wolma liked to think so in her head to make it that much easier to find new friends to gravitate towards. For a brief moment, Wolma considered teaching Jagger her unique healing but, after taking a good long look at him, came to the conclusion it wouldn't quite work the same way.
As Jagger dusted himself off, Wolma mimicked his actions to a T, even if she didn't have any clothes to dust off besides her torn crop, she did so anyway with a smile. The fiend of nature then nodded solemnly at Jagger, beginning to walk closer to the angel ready to follow her best friend. "Where...?" Wolma asked slowly, struggling to get the word out and thankful it wasn't just a gurgle or growl or German as usual. She was always ready for traveling! As long as it meant it wasn't traversing the long and twisted halls of a school building.
Wolma nodded yes to the welcome stranger's question, inching closer on three limbs as a tiger would, hand still stretched out. Jagger. A name she could remember with ease, she knew the nature on her body would definitely remember.
Grabbing his hand, her fingers wrapped around his as the green mass of geo that made up her arm came to life. It pulled him closer to Wolma as slowly but surely his injuries seemed to completely disappear. Meanwhile, Wolma herself was busy channeling her magic into Jagger, making him feel waves of easiness as his injures became hers, whatever injuries he had at the time at least. She winced as she felt the brief pain of falling on her palms, but the feeling was temporary as the plant life on her quickly moved to heal her.
It was a unique process, taking one's wounds, putting it on herself, and then healing herself versus outright healing the wounded person. Yes it had it's downsides but it had it's benefits as well. When Wolma was done, she pulled her hand back and smiled, pointing to Jagger's healed hand with her more human finger. Sitting on her knees, she then waited to see what her new friend Jagger thought.
Wolma continued to stare down from her position, stuck in a tree, at the boy that so happened to come by and... fall upon truly seeing her? An expected response, but Wolma with her extra senses immediately sensed that the minor fall wasn't exactly 100% harmless. Using her core muscles, she lifted herself up and undid the wraps of leaves, flora and bark around her human leg, dropping to the ground. The fall, unlike his, didn't hurt her in any way; she landed extremely softly. They were currently in her favorite place to be, a wooded area in a warm season.
She kept her distance as he got himself up, offering a small smile. Communication would be rather difficult, this she know almost immediately, but thankfully she could understand what he was saying... "Wolma..." she muttered out in response to him asking who she was, hoping it was enough to get across her foreign name. She stayed close to the dirt ground like a canine of feline predator would, but her features were clearly visible. Staring at his scraped palms, she offered her unnatural hand out, hoping he'd take it. "He..al?" Wolma growled out through strange noises, wanting to help.
Delighted that she at last found who she was looking for, she smiled, and for a very brief moment a red hue engulfed her face on the compliment. She wasn't used to being complimented for her looks at all, so this was both a really nice surprise as well as a breath of fresh air, and to top it all off not many were staring at her unusual features. To her, Chihiya was the best dressed by far, and she couldn't help but feel a bit underdressed for the occasion.. but there was nothing she could do about it now.
After taking a few more moments to admire their colored eyes, she shook her head with hands raised in defense, signaling she wasn't waiting long before looking around, finally settling on an area where everyone was skating. They had to start somewhere, right? Before anything else, Wolma turned to face her blind date and pointed to her throat before meekly uttering out the word "Wolma". She only hoped that was enough to get the point across that speaking wasn't in her set of skills.
At the sight of her new friend being rammed by some creature, Wolma acted on instinct and the cross pattern on her head opened to reveal a third eye, same color as her normal two. To Wolma, her friend was being attacked and so she'd protect her if the nature would allow her to. She was just about to start charging up magic before she realized she was being offered a ride, and this wasn't some kind of sneak attack. Sighing in relief, Wolma nodded, crawling near the fae dragon and climbing onto it.
As she did, she began to feel the energy and power it emitted. Wolma started to shine herself similar to the fae, smiling. Naturfiend was a handy gift, and one she appreciated. Being able to mimic or copy something else was always something she did once attached to a friend or ally. Wolma then nodded, signaling she was ready to go, even though she now had the same strength of the thing she was riding and could just jump to her destination. She was having fun.
Tilting her head in confusing at first before growling in understanding, Wolma shakily got to her feet, the nature fiend on her not so happy with the sudden movements, but was still calm enough to remain dormant and docile. Her sixth sense told her it was probably a good idea to keep an eye on that. She took a step before falling face first back to the ground, realizing she indeed was injured somehow, most likely a broken bone of some sort on her human leg. Her plant-like leg of course was completely fine.
Opting to just crawl, she made her way closer to the her, ready to go with a nervous smile. It's been awhile since she had to actually use all four three un-broken limbs to move around...
Wolma watched with curiosity as paper and presumably a pen was gathered. Frowning at first, she thought it would take a bit of time before she was able to relay to the kind samaratan that she wasn't the reading type. Blinking back with big eyes, she continued to watch until she was shown a myriad of cards with drawings and words on them. Quickly getting the idea, she nodded and smiled, taking the index cards in her normal hand, looking at the Wolma card a bit longer than she originally planned to.
"Danke!" she mumbled out in what she thought to be a well articulated word; thanks in German. Sorting through the cards after laying them out on the floor, she picked up two cards, the apple and wolma/bandage cards, and showed it to her, overly excited about the new way to communicate.
Jumping and nearly falling over from the sudden but welcome intrusion, Wolma re-gathered herself and looked up at the person who was now speaking to her. She waved meekly, the fiendish green around her seemed not to react with the person being there, which was all the reassurance Wolma needed. Even if she had to leave, she doubted she could right now.
Noticing the foreign language being spoken, her yellow eyes brightened with excitement. It wasn't everyday she met someone that could speak or understand German, it made her life so much easier, especially after recent events. Nodding intensely, she sat cross-crossed on the floor, setting the book aside. Absolutely she was hungry, but injured? Probably not. If she was, she didn't know or the injury came from her lack of proper eating. Pointing to herself with her hand made of green, she tried her best in speaking, her damaged vocal cords making that a difficult talk than it should've been. "Wolma" was all she could growl out, but it got the point across she hoped; that was her name, and she was hoping she made a new friendly contact today.
Wolma frowned as her eyes dropped. Holding her stomach with both hands, she sank to the bottom of a bookcase. She couldn't really read nor speak, so she had no idea how in the world she found herself inside the public library with nothing but a torn shirt and the flora that covered the rest of her barely decently. She hissed in German as the pain in her stomach increased before reaching up to grab a book. As people passed and ignored her she pretended to read the upside down book...
Wolma yawned. It was the middle of the afternoon, and somehow, someway, she had absolutely no idea where she was. She did however know that she was currently hanging upside down from the branch of a thick tree, the flora that made up her petite body making good use of the situation to camouflage them within the leaves. Her arms dangled down as all three of her gleaming yellow eyes stared down, wondering if someone would come wandering through. She highly doubted she would be allowed to just drop down, as a particular sassy piece of nature is savvy on self preservation.
She as usual didn't wear much, much to the plant's satisfaction, merely a tattered blue tee. The sentient plant covered the rest of her body decently enough. Being far more sensitive to nature than others, she was alerted of a presence. She let out a curious growl, that really sounded like gurgling, from her damaged throat, hoping to gain their attention.
