Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Ethan had just gotten back from a bounty, there were a few new listings on his phone. The location was interesting, he already knew who was lurking there and he couldn't help but smirk slightly at the chance to steal from the Dark King. He was a soldier for AP, the danger was thrilling to him. So he accepted the bounty for the guards, that is correct, not just one but three were on the list, hoping that nobody else would be crazy enough to take up the challenge. What could he say? They had a lovely price upon their head and he wanted it all for himself. He already knew the guards species, now it was just a matter of sneaking in and out without being caught. Because knowing the Dark King, he was bound to notice sooner or later. He slowly crept along the outside of the property, slipping inside the gate he grabbed a guard from behind and knocked them out. Of course they weren't the one he was looking for so he continued moving along.
Within a few minutes he had found him, sneaking from behind he wrapped his arm around him, pulled him close, cautions as he held his hand over his mouth to keep him from screaming out before knocking him out. He then proceeded to walk through the gate, hiding him just outside so that he could come back for him later. He would then proceed to go back inside the property before entering the castle to find the next guard. It was interesting how they were all on the list and yet nobody had the nerve to put the Dark King on it. Maybe they weren't as crazy as he had hoped, seeing as if somebody put the Dark King on the bounty list, surely they had a death wish for giving him so much trouble to begin with, right? Down the hall he could hear a noise, so he slipped into a bedroom, being extra quiet as he listened to them get closer before they weren't in hearing range anymore. He carefully closed the door before slipping back out of the room in search of his next victim.
To his grate disappointment, the guard had taken notice of him before he could wrap his arms around him, so he had managed to make a muffle like noise before being knocked out. He quickly wandered down the halls, making his way outside. If that muffle hadn't given him away, somebody would be bound to notice that a few of the guards weren't answering their radios, which he had kindly left where they had been knocked out so that it wouldn't remain with his victims while he tried carrying them out. He set the guard down next to the other one, on his way back in he had been spotted by none other than his next target. Well damn it. He thought to himself as he watched the guard raise the radio to his lips. "Intruder and he seems to have kidnapped a guard.... or wait.... is that?" He was in the middle of speaking in the radio when Ethan had advanced towards him. He couldn't have him giving away his location. Oh no, that would be problematic for him. He was quick to wrap his arms around him, knocking him out easy enough.
He pulled him closer so that he could pick him up, ignoring the thump from the radio smacking the ground because the guard had dropped it. As he carried the guard outside the property more guards had spotted him. "Don't let him get away." One had radioed in. "Hey you, STOP!" Another one had shouted towards Ethan, only to be rewarded with an ice wall. "We need reinforcements right now." Another radioed in before adding, "Near the front gate." He couldn't help but hope that they would be able to find away around this ice wall, because as it stood right now, Ethan had one hell of a get away. He picked up another guard, having him on top of the other guard on his shoulder before picking the last one up and slumping him onto his free shoulder. Well it was nice to kidnap and attack, but it is time for me to go now. He thought to himself, quit pleased that he had managed to capture all three and was already headed back towards HQ to collect his bounty.
Of course he wasn't out of the woods yet, he knew he still had to put up with the Dark King who was known for going out to save his damsel in distress guards.

Thick, dark grey clouds filled the skies above, blocking any sunlight or the beautiful shades of blue which usually stretched across the sky. They swirled through the skies as the wind picked up, howling loudly as the dark clouds suggested the possibility of rain. Evidently, today would become a miserable one, the thick gloominess being a suffocating force for the Dark King's Castle. Servants were seemingly groggy and slow as they shuffled around the castle, lazily going about their daily duties in the name of their king. Ardent behaviours would be entirely absent from the castle walls, a majority of the staff affected by the sorrowful weather. Expectations were high, but they were aware their king would provide leniency considering the horrible weather and tiresome work in a large cleaning the day prior. They would repay their laziness with their endless loyalty to the Dark King, the man who allowed them to find shelter inside his walls when necessary. Inside the castle library sat the king himself, stationed by a cold window, his stone-grey eyes locked on the outside world. Through the window, beyond the courtyard and a small piece of forest sat Aria Village, the small town being rather quietly throughout the day.
[break][break]
A majority of the villagers were quiet, the Assembly members included because of the day's weather, especially considering it suggested the possibility of rain. There was an elbow resting on the armrest of his chair as he observed the outside world for a few moments before a sigh softly escaped his mouth. Adjustments to his position were made, the Dark King, Noah Sullivan, facing forward as he rolled his stiffened shoulders. Hesitance embraced him before he finally stood from the comfort of the simple chair, the katana he used bumping against his thigh. The excellent sword was held in a beautiful, black leather scabbard which hung around a belt beneath a lavish cloak that hugged his shoulders. Black cloth was the primary colour of the cloak with bright red edges on the fringes of his cloak, the back sweeping out behind him as he walked through the shelves. Arms were folded behind him, his posture straight as the navy-haired man continued to walk. His navy-coloured hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, a pair of strands hanging down from the front, straight hair well-maintained and beautiful. Slowly, he made his way to the exit, opening the library door and heading into the hallway.
[break][break]
Footsteps echoed through the hallway, the noise belonging to Noah as he continued to wander. Grey eyes flitted around the hallway, searching as lustful thoughts entered the Dark King's head. Daily flirting with a certain guard was necessary, the man searching for Holden Pérez, the beautiful, purple-haired guard. Those gorgeous long locks and bashfulness towards the notion of libidinous acts were both amusing and attractive. There were prayers he could manage to coax Holden into joining him in the bedroom for some enjoyable fun where he could finally have his prize. Eyes were searching carefully, although, failed to find the guard he craved the attention of, especially considering his familiar was physically attractive and mentally adorable. The radio static filled his ears, Noah pausing in surprise as he overheard the information being provided. Immediately, the Dark King's eyes narrowed, angered by the information coming through. Somebody decided to infiltrate his castle on this gloomy day and most despicable, he was kidnapping the innocent guards who helped protect his castle. The radio was grabbed and brought to the navy-haired man's lips.
[break][break]
"I am on my way, keep me updated," Noah angrily stated into the radio. [break][break]
Front gate, the pair of words resonated in Noah's mind as he rushed towards the closest shadow, his enhanced speed allowing him to rush through the darkness. Quickly, the wraith dived through the darkness, landing outside the castle, his eyes glancing over the ground. The damp dirt provided him with footsteps, the Assembly soldier immediately rushing forward the track down the intruder who was thieving his guards. Each step would carry him closer to the mysterious individual, Noah hurrying, the man knowing time was crucial. As noise reached his ears, the wraith drew his katana, proceeding to pursue the random intruder.
[break][break]
"HALT AND PERHAPS YOU WILL GET MERCY!" The words were shouted as Noah chased the man.
[break][break]
As the Dark King began getting close, his eyes furrowed as he noticed something oddly familiar about the gorgeous long hair of this individual. Blond, straight and well-groomed, it reminded him of somebody who embraced him lovingly and benevolence, yet, he believed this must merely be a random blond stranger, right?
Ethan found himself walking rather slowly, if it wasn't the fact he had three guards he was kidnapping it was the fact he was a dragon in general. It wasn't long before he could hear footsteps advancing in his direction, which meant he would have to act quickly if he wanted to live to tell another day. It hadn't come as a surprise when he heard the Dark King's comment phrase. People had spoken about it so much it wasn't hard to miss, but he hadn't taken this bounty for the sake of sleeping with him, he honestly had done it for the challenge and so far he was losing. He turned to glance towards the man that had been following after him. So that is what the famous Dark King looks like. He thought to himself, unaware that he was meeting his uncle for the first time in his life. "Mercy, is that what you view for your flings?" He asked, mostly curious, he wasn't by any means interested in figuring that one out for himself.
"I'll pass." He answered, unaware of his good choice of words. He honestly just wasn't interested in sleeping around with other people, only interested in his line of work, which paid well and allowed him to donate it later for the sake of giving him purpose until he finally found his uncle to punish him for killing his uncle. He couldn't help but believe without having proof to back it up that his uncle had been the one behind his parents death as well. "It isn't anything personally, I just like the money this job paid and yours was the hardest to accomplish so I opted to dive right in." He added in a mocking tone, knowing that if Noah really planned to fight him, it would be in his best interest to set the guards down and withdraw his own sword, but he didn't want to waste time fighting somebody that had taken notice of him, oh no, he just wanted to collect his bounty and be done with it, if Noah had a problem with that, he could hunt him down and collect them when all was said and done.
Why the hell was he looking at me like that only moments prior? He couldn't help but think to himself, knowing time was of the essences but it was strange, nobody ever looked at him with that look, not unless they knew him and those he knew in return and yet he hadn't ever met this guy before, it was a strange feeling in his gut, telling him that he should know who this guy was and yet no memory was crossing his mind, leaving him to believe without a doubt they hadn't met before. But he didn't have the courage to ask him why the hell he had given him that look before, who the hell he was mistaking him as. Perhaps it was the fact that he wanted to focus on the job at hand instead of worrying about the little things but he felt a strange need to remain curious about it so instead of attempting to flee, he remained in his spot, waiting for the most likely outcome to occur.
As he had done only moments before when somebody had attempted to cease his capture, he had created ice on the ground, attempting to block Noah from advancing towards him.

[attr="class","aodmain"] Years of loyal service from his guard's resulted in Noah's desperate desire to hunt down the individual who kidnapped them and bring forth justice at the blade's end of his katana. The grip on the fabric handle of the katana was tightened as the wraith rapidly approached his blond target. Numerous thoughts were swirling through his head as the Assembly soldier approached with intentions of defeating the mysterious man and possibly locking him away in the dungeon where he could rot for his crimes. Those who thieved his guards were going to suffer, especially if they decided to steal Holden from him. The familiar he bounded himself to was a close friend and an attractive ally he worked hard on persuading to join him in the pleasure-filled haven of his bedroom, unfortunately, Holden always played hard to get. Despite the blushing and evident interest, Noah was always refused by the handsome guard. Immediately, the navy-haired man narrowed his eyes as anger coursed through his veins, the thought of Holden potentially being among the kidnapped guards made his steps a pinch faster. The steps were bringing him closer, the stranger turning around because of his words.
[break][break]
Noah froze. Grey eyes widened as his movements immediately halted, his emotional pain infecting his heart as stared at the individual who was callously burglarizing his guards. Words left the blond's mouth, but they never reached Noah's ears as shock breached his system. A single name echoed in his mind as the wraith struggled to think straight; things were contorted and perplexing as he stared at the familiar face. The man he loved, Carter, was stealing his guards instead of entering the castle to spend personal time with him or even provide a conversation. Everything seemed to stop, Noah's eyes remained locked onto the blond beauty as painful memories surfaced, manifesting confusion as he stared. The tightness in his hands dissipated, his beloved katana falling, landing on the dirt. The first signs of rain arrived, small droplets hurling down from the dark clouds above. They were cold as they began landing on Noah's face, the dark-haired man suddenly falling to his knees as he stared up at the man he assumed was Carter.
[break][break]
"... Carter?" He mumbled, tone softer. "... Y-you're back? Is... is this some cruel joke? You had your soulmate... why return?"
[break][break]
Heat accumulated on Noah's face as he felt tears gather in his grey eyes as his thoughts churned. Did Carter return because of the way he fled all those years ago? Admittedly, the action seemed like something his former lover would avoid considering there would be no return from death in this life. Misery filled the navy-haired man's heart as the tears began rolling down his cheeks, the wraith praying everything unfolding was merely a nightmare and Carter was still happily in the greyscale world with his beloved wife. Emotions were painful as Noah remained on his knees, not hearing a single word which left the blond's lips, he was entranced by those delicate, feminine features and gorgeous hair that everything the man stated prior to the wraith's words was unheard. When the ice wall divided them, Noah remained unphased as the upset emotions consumed him, the man staring at the wavy version of "Carter" through the ice.
Ethan had turned to face Noah, surprised when Noah gave him that look as if they had known each other in the past. It was rather confusing because he couldn't remember meeting him before so he was under the belief it had never happened. Then the sudden sight of seeing his sword dropped before smacking against the ground was noticed by Ethan. Rain starting falling, but he remained in his spot as he looked back at Noah, becoming more confused when Noah had fallen to his knees. The words that had come out of his mouth was surprising but he was quick to shake them off. He was supposed to leave and collect his bounty and yet, he couldn't help but remain curious on this man instead. He had mistaken him as his uncle, which meant only one thing, he was likely Noah Sullivan, his uncle. The person responsible for Carter's death and the one he believed to be behind his parents deaths as well. Noah's question went in one ear and out the other, Ethan debated on if he would just leave him there or if he would handle Noah first.
The face expression Noah showed, saddened him, but it wasn't enough for him to forgive the action of killing his uncle Carter. He had created the ice wall to divide them, deciding that he would leave Noah to his sorrows so that he could collect his bounty, but shortly after turning to walk away, he heard Noah calling out his uncle's name once more and it angered him. Slowly he turned back towards the ice wall, looking at the reflection of Noah, unmoving on the other side of the ice. He carefully set the guard down against the wall in a sitting position before grabbing another guard to seat him down against the ice before setting the third one down next to the other two. He had changed his mind about fleeing, his uncle was calling for his uncle and yet he wasn't him. If he had been, maybe he would have been much more forgiving over the murder. Slowly he walked along the wall, as to walk around it so that he could be on the same side as Noah. His uncle was still unarmed, making him unwilling to attack him but he really badly wanted to kill him for murdering Carter.
"Pick up your sword." He ordered, withdrawing his from his sheath before aiming his blade towards Noah. "Tell me, are you Noah Sullivan? If so, your my uncle and for the murder of Carter, I will kill you." He refused to add onto the death of his parents at this time, wanting to make sure this was his uncle first.

[attr="class","aodmain"] Numbness consumed Noah entirely as he stared through the ice, viewing the blurred face of his beautiful ex-husband who died centuries ago. An aching sensation remained evident in his heart, the intense feelings he held for Carter creating sorrow because of the actions being taken. Between them remained the huge ice wall, blocking from seeing the glorious appearance of his wonderful husband. Thoughts were not processing properly, the wraith unable to realize there were few undead creatures which could return with ice-based abilities, golems being a potential one and pyrruses being another (however, Carter was an electric dragon). However, the shock running strongly through Noah's mind refused for those types of thoughts to churn through his head. For all these years, Noah had been longing for Carter's attention, the beautiful man always being evident in Noah's dreams and nightmares. Rain began falling harder, the sounds of wind rustling the leaves while droplets plummeted from the dark clouds, wetting the ground beneath. The cold claimed his clothes as they became soaked in the rainwater, but the sensation was ignored as warm tears proceeded to crawl down Noah's cheeks. They trickled down to his chin, slowly dropping down to the ground.
[break][break]
When he called Carter's name, the guards were slowly leaned against the wall, Noah watching the action, confusion breaching his expression. The wraith's grey eyes remained locked on the blond form as he walked around the ice wall, sword withdrawn as he rounded the corner. Silently, the Dark King stared, the uncanny resemblance maintaining the sorrow and heartache over the man he mourned over for centuries. There was a demand to grab his sword, however, Noah ignored it, allowing his katana to sit quietly on the ground beside him. All the Assembly soldier could do was stare, tears continuing to fall the longer he looked at "Carter", however, it became apparent there was something wrong with the situation. A brow raised when the individual requested his name, mentioning him to be an uncle, but it came with a painful accusation. Listening to those words which claimed he was the murderer of his precious lover increased the tears, fattening them as they slithered down his face. A mixture of anger and sorrow transcended over him, fists clenching as he quietly sobbed over the loss of his beloved husband. There were no choices, killing Carter was mercy from becoming known as a monster.
[break][break]
"I DIDN'T WANT TO KILL HIM!" He cried out.
[break][break]
Lost in his world of painful sorrow, Noah sat in a knelled position, hunching over as his hands covered his tear-filled eyes. Everything was hurting after being provided with the opportunity to see Carter's face, even if it belonged to a family member of his. Centuries of missing his beloved husband brought forth a tremendous emotional pain, the Assembly soldier being unable to contain himself. Desperately, he attempted to wipe away the tears from his eyes, but they kept flooding, proving the navy-haired man remained broken after the heartbreak; nobody could stay strong forever.
Ethan felt the rain coming down harder, soaking his clothing to his body as he advanced towards Noah. He was unable to see Noah until he had finished walking on the other side of the ice wall that he had created. Though it was possible to demolish the ice wall, it would take too much effort and this way his guards would have something to lean against instead of having to lay flat on the ground. He didn't like being mistaken as his uncle, didn't like how this man knew of Carter when his uncle was dead. He had grown up believing his uncle had killed Carter and was told from a friend that his uncle was the only one alive today that knew of his name and this history. At first it had been a belief but his friend had convinced him that his uncle had in fact angered Carter and then killed him, despite the story being that Carter was angry by other means and his uncle had saved him by showing mercy. He had demanded Noah to pick up his sword, but his uncle remained on the ground, ignoring his demands of picking up his sword.
There was no mistake in believing Noah had loved Carter at one time or another, but he knew that he was facing his uncle's murderer and he wasn't about to hesitate just because there was a little bit of rain. He accused Noah of killing Carter, his uncle continued shedding tears and despite the view appearing sincere, he wasn't about to show mercy. "BUT YOU DID KILL HIM!" He shouted, reminding Noah of how that event unfolded in front of him. "THE WORLD KNOWS HE WAS ANGRY AND TURNED INTO A DRAGON, BUT NOBODY DARED TO SAY BY WHO BUT I KNOW WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS CHANGE." He was angry that Noah was playing the innocent card with him, this man was the Dark King for goodness sake, he needed to pick up his damn sword and defend himself already. It was hard to refrain from shedding his own tears. This man, his uncle, was Carter's murderer and yet he was giving him respect in holding a sword as means to defend himself. Had he really come purely for revenge, surely being armed or not wouldn't matter. The longer he stayed here, the longer his angry had turned into its own sorrow.
I can't do it.... I can't kill him. He is still family and I still don't understand what happened between them for my uncle to become angry enough to change in the first place. He thought to himself as he watched Noah remain on the ground. He couldn't help but feel a great need in encouraging this fight on, just because he couldn't attack Noah until he was armed, didn't mean his uncle couldn't have the first move. "YOU ARE THE REASON CARTER IS DEAD, YOU GOT HIM ANGRY AND WHEN HE CHANGED YOU USED IT AS AN EXCUSE TO KILL HIM." He shouted, upset that despite his accusations, it seemed to him that Noah wasn't going to take his bait in attacking him instead. Tears slowly started falling from his eyes, he wouldn't be able to kill Noah, not if his uncle wasn't even willing to take up arms against him. There was laughter coming from nearby, he could hear it. That person, he knew them from somewhere. He couldn't help but feel confused on why exactly his friend was laughing when this was a serious matter he was handling right this moment. He didn't like being interrupted, not even by an old friend.
Little did he know this was the true murderer behind Carter's death as well as a liar using any means necessary to set him off so that he could attempt to control him after the failed attempts against his parents. It was a struggle to keep his emotions in check, but very easy to feel angrier at the sound of laughter, this conversation wasn't funny so why the hell was he laughing.

[attr="class","aodmain"] Broken, it became an excellent descriptor of how Noah felt when handed a grim reminder of his dearest husband's demise. Tears were flooding his grey eyes, wretched sorrow conquering his mind and body as he was reduced to a sobbing mess because of this stranger's extremely similar appearance to the dragon he was forced to murder in mercy. There was an emptiness in his stomach while hot tears rolled down his cheeks, being wiped away by his hands. Rain proceeded to fall around them, shivers become evident as the wraith dived into the single memory which resulted in the most grief. The beautiful Carter was extremely special to Noah, oftentimes being the only person who completely understood him, the pair talking for hours. Emotional pain smacked into the Dark King hard when the stranger began shouting those truths, he began crying harder. Tears were thick as Noah's breaths became congested, breaths quickly escaping his lips, the navy-haired man unable to handle the depressing memories of being forced to kill Carter. The man was transformed into a ravaging beast because of the cruelness their captain displayed, and his own usefulness as a hostage.
[break][break]
The wraith's heart felt crushed as the Carter look-alike continued to shout those horrible words, Noah leaning forward as tears fell in streams. Sorrow was ravaging Noah's heart the longer he remained knelled in the dirt, rain falling around him. Attacking the blond was impossible, especially considering he possessed the face he loved for years. There were endless tears as Noah hugged himself, unable to handle the words shouted at him.
[break][break]
"I... I never... wanted to..." he mumbled out. "I loved him... oh... oh Carter..."
[break][break]
Denying the allegations was impossible because of the sadness which tormented him endlessly. The memories of the dastardly day where Carter transformed despite his pleas to merely allow the captain to kill him, which unfortunately forced Noah to mercifully kill his husband. Nobody should be forced to remember the incredible soldier as a terrorizing dragon, thus, the man brought the burden to his shoulders to preserve his husband's image. The laughter was difficult to ignore, Noah, stiffening as he recognized it. Tears proceeded to silently drop as he slowly glanced around, hands wiping away the wet from his face as he searched for that monster. The maniacal laughs which exited his mouth after transforming his husband into a full-blown dragon hastily surfaced in the wraith's memory. Evidently, his former captain still roamed Earth, although, Noah was clueless on his motives.
Ethan had heard Noah's comments but found himself distracted by the sudden laughter. He was too busy focusing on it to take notice of Noah stiffening before glancing around. The captain continued laughing, Noah had failed to anger Ethan by the point of slaughtering him and he found it rather amusing, plus he knew it would cause Ethan to become even angrier at the action. "WHAT THE HELL IS SO DAMN FUNNY?" He shouted, finding spotting his supposed friend whom he thought would have never believed such topics to be funny based off of how angry he got over the subject around him. He ignored Noah, unaware of their connection in the past. To him, the captain was a friend from long ago, his father's friend. They had talked about the past, though it was twisted in lines, making it impossible to realize who exactly this man really was to them. When his father died, this friend had come to his mother in dire need and when his mother died once more he came to support him, but by then he had enough of this world and had chosen to freeze himself over, unaware of the plans the captain had in store for him.
"Watching you get angry of course, it is just so damn amusing and look at him, moping as if Carter had died earlier today. You made him so weak in the knees, I should have pointed you to him earlier in life." He answered with a smug grin on his face. "HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT MY UNCLE THAT WAY. HE MAY HAVE DIED BUT YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TO DISRESPECT HIM!" He snapped, furious that his friend was making these remarks. Since when had he become so disrespectful towards him? "AND LEAD ME TO HIM SOONER? YOU KNEW HE WAS ALIVE AND HERE THIS WHOLE TIME?" He snapped, becoming more furious at the idea of his friend knowing the location of Noah. "I may have found out and chose to allow things to play out...." The captain answered in a mocking tone, amused with how Noah was reacting to seeing him once more and with connection to Ethan too. "Besides, the best way to control a dragon is to watch him transform into a dragon. Wouldn't you agree, Ethan?" He continued mocking, knowing it was only a matter of time before Noah would attempt to attack him. The words sank in like daggers. His long time friend was a traitor, saying such stupid things to him. "SHUT UP!" He shouted, feeling a great need to silence him once or for all.
"You know, your parents said that when I got them angry at me too...." He mocked, moving backwards in his retreat. "Now lets see.... what did I say to them? Oh yes.... little Ethan was going to grow up someday and once he does, I'll be here to encourage his shift into a dragon...." He mocked, "I made sure to remind your dad at how much fun I had doing the very same thing to Carter. Seeing as you look exactly like him." Perhaps it was the mockery of the captain going on and on about past history, or the fact that he had killed his family, regardless of the reason, no sooner had the captain finished talking that Ethan had rushed towards him with sword in his hand, clearly furious at the truth being thrown in his face. Noah hadn't killed his family, this monster had and he was going to die by his sword or he was going to die trying. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" He shouted, clearly furious now.

[attr="class","aodmain"] A potent mixture of sorrow and hatred filled Noah’s body, the broken man discovering the horrible individual who angered his precious Carter and forcing his hand. The crazed captain who believed fully transformed dragons could potentially be controlled through possessing the correct materials. While a powerful, gigantic dragon would be extremely useful for an army, the wraith refused to follow because of those inhumane beliefs the horrible man possessed. Dragons were unable to revert once they crossed the edge, thus trapping them in a feral body they never wished upon themselves. Those nights when he snuggled up against Carter and listened to his fears about crossing the line and becoming a beast always haunted Noah’s mind nowadays. He would have been fine if their horrible captain never forced for those actions. Those years of reassuring it the terrible notion would never occur suddenly felt like false statements because Noah was proven wrong. The thunderous sound of Ethan yelling resulted in Noah's eyes flitting towards the blond, locking onto him before returning to where the laughter erupted from. Sight remained blurred from tears, the navy-haired man's hands raising to carefully wipe them away.
[break][break]
A foreboding sensation entered the pits of Noah's stomach, creating an emptiness as he attempted to pull himself together. A single moment managed to drag him deep into emotional despair, the beast grabbing him and forcing a longer than needed stay. Despite the previous tears, there was a hardness evident in Noah's grey eyes as they narrowed slightly from hearing the familiar laugh of a former friend, however, the Dark King knew it belonged to a monster. The monster whose actions heralded Noah's resentment of Heaven and resulted in his wings transforming into an inky black. Trusting the heathen a second time would be impossible, especially considering he cruelly thieved the most important person in the former soldier's life at that time. The pathetic display was evidently witnessed by the captain considering the words he used. A frown invaded Noah's face as his eyes flitted away, locking with the ground as it became soaked with rain. The disrespectful comments from his former captain resulted in the Dark King clenching his fists, teeth grinding together. Offhanded comments from the manipulator of his beloved husband were unnecessary and anger-inducing.
[break][break]
The information the captain became privy to hardly mattered to Noah, especially since it could be used as an excuse to kill the bastard who ruined his life. Security reasons were an ample excuse for the Dark King. The word exchange was listened to, Noah's hand inching closer to his katana with every sentence the vile man threw out. When the transformation of dragons was mentioned, the wraith began shaking with intense anger, tears dissipating as determination. Repeating the experiment was beyond insane, the navy-haired man hastily grabbing the handle of his swords as the situation intensified. HE WOULD NOT ALLOW THIS BASTARD TO REPEAT THE HORRIBLE DAY HE LOST CARTER THROUGH USING ANOTHER DRAGON! The furious words which escaped Ethan's words made it obvious the captain could potentially succeed, and Noah would be damned if he allowed the past to repeat. Suddenly, the Dark King managed to rise inhumanly fast from his fallen position, steps becoming quick as he charged the captain, sword drawn and ready. The enhanced speed he activated carried him quicker than most species, allowing him to get close and attempt to create a series of overwhelmingly fast strikes, although, they lacked an immense force.
[break][break]
"IGNORE THIS BASTARD, ETHAN! HE WANTS TO REPEAT HIS FUCKING EXPERIMENT!" The words were screamed as Noah attacked his arch-nemesis.

Swears were a diction only used when the Assembly soldier was extremely angry, however, the captain enraged the wraith. There was nobody else who could manage to get Noah's blood boiling in a matter of seconds other than the individual who stole Carter from him. Each swing from the katana was calculated, the former soldier of Heaven narrowing his eyes as he attempted to concentrate through the anger in hopes of defeating the monster who resulted in Carter's death. The determination was overwhelming as Noah began only fixating on the captain. The needless death accompanied by years of mourning created a desire to kill the cruel man a second time, the wraith praying he would receive torment in the worst pits of hell; those rumours about where souls of the undead went after a second death were hopefully truthful for this situation.
Ethan hadn't noticed Noah grab his sword before standing up, too busy rushing at the captain who had betrayed him. He proceeded to attempt to slash only for the captain already being prepared with a counter to block with his blood manipulation, shortly after cutting the palm of his hand open with his sword. The words Noah shouted had gone in one ear and out the other, though deep down he was aware his uncle to be correct, if he wasn't careful he was going to end up with the same fate as his relatives. The captain adjusted the blood manipulation so that it would counter Noah's attack that had been launched right at him. Meanwhile, the captain found Ethan's anger rather amusing but seeing as once more Noah was attempting to get into his way, he thought he would have a little bit of fun. It had worked on his mother in the past, so why not attempt it on her son as well. Ethan was about to advance the captain once more but there was a voice in his head and he found himself becoming angry. He wasn't sure why he felt furious towards Noah, seeing as he had saved his uncle and hadn't been behind his transformation.
Becoming furious, having a new target, that is what the captain desired for Ethan and he was struggling to control himself. With his sword in his hand, he found himself rushing towards Noah suddenly. He failed to save my uncle, killing him because it was easier. He thought to himself, knowing these were lies but he just couldn't stop himself. That is right my boy, feed into your anger and change for me. He thought, encouraging Ethan to become even more angry. No.... I won't.... He thought to himself, knowing the captain desired for him to cut Noah down. The struggle to control his thoughts his emotions, it helped remind him that he didn't want to be transformed into a dragon. He didn't want to die in that form. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" He snapped, struggling to kick the captain from controlling his body and encouraging him with words that would only fuel his anger. He sheathed his sword, knowing there would be only one way this would end.
Perhaps the captain had recalled this one, ice started forming from his hands first before going along his body. It was a quick process because he knew it was the only way to shield himself from this possession. The captain wouldn't be able to freeze him so long as he remained conscious, which meant only one action could happen at this point and he prayed that by the time he thawed out this bastard would remain alive for him to gain a second chance to kill him. Seeing Ethan freeze himself over had come as a surprise, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOP IT!" He shouted, knowing that Ethan wasn't listening to his words, he withdrew his own sword to slash towards Noah. He was determined as ever to take this damn dragon with him even if he had to wait for him to thaw out. He already waited so long, what was a few more years?

[attr="class","aodmain"] Infuriated and upset, Noah prepared himself the inevitable combat situation between the lunatic captain. They were enemies because of the monstrous ideals the captain established, his plans on using full-blown dragons for combat was inhuman. Red liquid gushed towards the wraith, making it obvious the captain picked up blood manipulation as a power. Despite the threatening new skill, Noah maintained courage as he tightened the grip on the sword’s handle, the distance between himself and the impending threat closing. The instant there was close proximity, shadows began consolidating themselves into flat disks and a few sharp spikes. The disks worked towards blocking the initial attacks while the spikes were used to cut through the blood. Despite the efforts, Noah quickly dodged right, the wraith hoping his attacks on the blood manipulation would operate as both a distraction and defence. There were attempts to further close the distance, Noah preparing himself to potentially thrust his sword into the captain, however, something in his peripherals caught him off guard. Abruptly, the wraith was forced to backpedal from his initial plan, eyes narrowing as they flitted between the blond, Ethan, who rushed him and his former captain. There was something strange about this situation, especially since the truth surfaced about the captain being the main contributor to Carter’s death.

Immediately, Noah flinched as he was forced to dodge his nephew, the wraith preferring to avoid hurting the man who possessed Ethan’s glory. The shout resulted in the Dark King’s eyes widening with realization, his grey eyes fixating entirely on the captain; this bastard was controlling his nephew. Once again, the grip was tightened around Noah’s katana, his knuckles turning pale. The water soaking his clothes and hair, the droplets rolling down his face as he watched Ethan fight. The cold weather failed to perturb Noah as he rushed towards a shadow, avoiding Ethan to appear on the opposite side of the captain. There were no words as Noah used his enhanced speed, his feet smoothly gliding across the water slicked grass. His increased dexterity allowed the wraith to run without the consequence of potentially losing balance. The sword was brought back, Noah attempting to get close in hopes of swinging the blade towards the captain. Death would be the punishment for the dastardly man who decided to make Carter a monster and possibly similar to Ethan. The wraith would be damned if he failed to succeed in defending his nephew, especially since the loyal family members that remained were the only people Noah had left. Protecting them was the utmost necessity for the Dark King because otherwise he would be trapped in a world of loneliness with only his flings for company.

The navy-haired man prepares for the engagement with the captain, the notion of mercy already being thrown off the table. This despicable man intended to thieve everything away from his family! He would not allow success! Carter was already a massive loss for Noah to bear, the feelings of mourning smacking into him harder than a sledgehammer. As the wraith prepared for the altercation between himself and the captain, Noah managed to peek over at Ethan. Immediately, the Assembly soldier’s eyes widened as he caught a glimpse at what his nephew was accomplishing. Ice was surrounding his nephew, the ice elemental dragon discovering a way to make the captain unable to control. Briefly, the wraith flinched from his concerns over Ethan’s decision, however, he needed to handle the captain first. With the captain around, Ethan freezing himself over was the least of Noah’s concerns.
The captain couldn't help but smirk when Noah had countered with darkness manipulation. At the last second he created darkness as a thick fog as an attempt to hide from Noah and Ethan, making it much more difficult to be attacked. Though it seemed like Noah had figured out where he was at, so he quickly possessed Ethan as a means to distract him and continue on with his plans. Ethan had advanced towards Noah but he knew that he didn't desire to attack him and it was a strange unwelcomed voice commanding him to do so. He couldn't help but have mixed feelings upon Noah dodging his blade, on the one hand he was told to attack and kill, on the other, he didn't want to do this. It was in this same moment that he attempted to fight the control over his brain, shouting at wanting to be set free. He was never a fan of being told what to do, so being forced upon it was a huge no, especially since he had no grudge against his uncle anymore.
In the middle of the fight, the guards that had been behind the ice wall that Ethan had created earlier had crept around it to check for the coast being clear before advancing towards the unconscious guards to slowly carry them back to the safety of the castle. Meanwhile the captain found Noah within reach of attacking him once more. Despite his attempt to continue controlling Ethan, who was currently fighting his possession, he slowly mustered up darkness manipulation as he attempted to back away from him. The captain had noticed Ethan freezing himself over, he was angry over the action because it meant that he wouldn't be able to control him today. Instead he would have to wait for Ethan to unfreeze first and where he was currently, he knew that Noah wasn't about to make that task easy for him. While Noah had peeked towards Ethan, he quickly created a hex with the open wound on his hand. Knowing fully well that Noah wouldn't hesitate to kill him, he once more used darkness manipulation in an effort to hide in it, hoping that if Noah managed to get him that he'd at the very least not be harmed very badly as he made the effort to teleport away from them.
Free from the possession stood a frozen sculpture of Ethan. Sleeping away in his slumber once more. Of course last time, he had located himself in a cold environment to help the ice not melt away as fast, this time, he would argue not nearly as lucky. "My King?" One of the guards called out, waiting to be of some assistance. "Shall we move him into the dungeon?" He asked, seeing as Ethan had kidnapped a few of the guards earlier today. He wasn't aware of how Ethan looked like Carter, Noah's late husband, nor the fact they were related. The only thing he knew was it was his duty to protect and assist his King by any means necessary. A few more guards had come out to join the first, waiting for further orders from their King.

[attr="class","aodmain"] Thick mist enclosed around him during the initial encounter, which has created difficulty in avoiding Ethan while he was under the influence of possession. Trickery appeared to be the captain’s way of handling the situation, Noah believing he was attempting to kill two birds with one stone. Eyes were narrowed as Noah peered through the dark fog, however, he refused to remain in a single location for long. The situation would be difficult to handle, but the Dark King was determined to save his nephew from the hellish results the captain was attempting to coax from him. Reliving the past was not an option, the wraith genuinely fearing the notion of Ethan being transformed into a large beast. Memories from Carter’s demise were already repeating through Noah’s head, increasing his titanium resolve. There was a hardness captured in his grey eyes, pure determination evident as his eyelids remained narrowed and the grip on his sword tight. Attacking Ethan was something the Dark King could never accomplish, thus his reasons for teleporting through a large enough shadow to avoid the situation entirely. He merely dodged and provided himself with a better angle to approach the malicious captain from.
[break][break]
A hasty approach was unfortunately met with a wall of darkness, Noah flinching as he skidded to a halt, narrowly stopping before the wall. Anger coursed through him, a low growl escaping the wraith’s throat as he squeezed the handle of his katana. The darkness manipulation soon thickening, obscuring his view of the captain’s body, which only increased Noah’s vexation.
[break][break]
“WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! YOU COWARDICE BASTARD!” Noah shouted, unable to contain his anger.
[break][break]
With a warrior’s bravery, the wraith rushed into the mist of darkness, katana slashing wildly as the fog suddenly dissipated. Slowly, the world around Noah was revealed, however, there was a severe lacking in a certain individual’s presence. A scowl settled onto the Dark King’s face, his greatest foe escaping into the rainy day without a single trace. Beneath, there were the evident signs of hex usage, traces of blood which seemed to form a circle making Noah privy to the notion. Briefly, the wraith merely stood, staring down as the rain-soaked ground as blood was washed away from a fresh pour. His clothes were completely soaked, clinging to the Assembly soldier’s muscular body. Similarly, his hair held plenty of water and weighed heavy on his head. Once he arrived home, he would need to change clothes and handle the situation revolving around his hair. The familiar voices of his guards resulted in Noah’s gaze glancing over his shoulder at the ice sculpture his nephew became and the guards he attempted to kidnap. There was a small group of his guards, a soft sigh escaping Noah’s lips as he sheathed his katana and turned to face them. He was their king, it was their expectation to receive commands and handle them as needed.
[break][break]
“Did anyone injure him? I would prefer to get him thawed quickly and allow the healer to assess him. We can handle living arrangements once he wakes,” Noah explained simply. “If anybody has teleportation, could you please take him to the healer’s quarters? It would be easier than trying to drag him through a shadow.”
[break][break]
Promptly, Noah organized his guards and explained the outcome he desired. There was faith in the group of individuals, the Dark King knowing thoroughly that they would carry out their orders with excellence. These people were loyal to him, the benevolence he displayed towards their well-being resulting in an equal trade; loyalty for constant assistance. When he assisted the Assembly’s take over of Aria, he allowed the guard’s families to stay inside the castle walls for their safety. Furthermore, weather events oftentimes resulted in Noah offering the castle as a refuge; it was the least he could do.
The guards remained quiet as Noah had turned to face them before inquiring about Ethan's well being. "I don't think so, my King." The guard answered, though it was possible they managed to land a few possible scratches on him, but the only way to find out would be to unfreeze him. The guards nodded when Noah gave the order and one guard stepped forward to touch the ice sculpture before teleporting him into the healer's quarters. "It has been done my King." The guard answered, "Will you be going to your room? Do you need healing too?" The guard asked, concerned for his King. Meanwhile the healer was startled to see an ice sculpture in his quarters but the guard was quick to explain Noah's orders so they made the effort of moving Ethan into a hug tub before filling it up with hot water, as the ice slowly melted away, his sheath was removed as well as his cell phone.
His clothes appeared ripped, hard to say if it had happened during his attempt to kidnap the guards or if it was when the captain had attacked him, but seeing as he needed to be checked for any possible wounds, he was stripped down to his boxers. As soon as the ice was melted, Ethan slowly stirred, unaware of the situation he currently was in. He heard a noise, unaware the healer was in the bathroom waiting for him to wake. Slowly he opened his eyes, noticing the big bathroom had been somewhat of a shock, but not as much as when he noticed the healer and realized he wasn't wearing a shirt and how he at first believed he might have been naked unless he noticed he was still wearing boxers. The healer had turned the water off, seeing as he was awake now. The guard from earlier had remained outside the bathroom unless he needed to be of some assistance to the healer.
Perhaps being outside the bathroom had been a bad thing because once Ethan had figured out where he was located, he had climbed out of the tub quickly and ran out of the bathroom, almost losing his balance but regained it when he caught himself against the wall. "WAIT!" The healer had shouted from behind him. He picked up his radio, "The prisoner has escaped, will somebody bring him back to me. Please." Meanwhile the guard that had teleported him here had started running behind him. If it wasn't for the fact Ethan had attempted to kidnap his comrades he would have found him attractive, worthy of becoming a fling buddy. Ethan knew that his time was short in this escape but he wasn't about to remain Noah's castle, not even if he had to go through the embarrassment of running away in only boxers. Of course that meant his cheeks were pink as he continued down the halls, predicting how long it would take for Noah to figure out he was making his escape.
I don't know why he thawed me.... or what he wants of me, but I need to find that bastard and kill him for betraying me. This whole damn time he was playing me like a puppet so that I would attack my uncle and he hadn't even been the one that was behind Carter's death, nor my parents. He thought to himself rather frustrated. He could hear up ahead what sounded like guards, he sighed before advancing forward, planning on ramming into them.
