Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Ethan had followed Noah to the tables, refusing to go up front for food without him. It didn't bother him when Noah had sighed because he was finding him a table and had to take him up front for food too. He remained silent as he followed after him, being handed a tray as he looked to see the options of the different foods. He made his choice, before following Noah towards the table. He sighed when he heard the radio, to him, it sounded as if the healer was awoke already. The healer paused in his search of supplies when he heard Noah reply back to him. "Yes, My King." He radioed back, sighing in relief when he heard that Ethan was getting something to eat. He listened as Noah claimed he would bring him over upon Ethan finishing his food. "I will be ready, My King." He radioed in, preparing his quarter for Ethan's arrival, no longer having to carry supplies out with him in search of Ethan's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Ethan remained quiet, too stuck in his thoughts to care.
He slowly started eating, using it as an excuse to drift into his thoughts in the appropriate time that he should attempt his escape. He didn't want to leave without his things, which meant, he was required to find them upon leaving, which meant, limited on the time that he had to search before Noah got wind of it. Flings didn't take very long, his uncle wouldn't take very long, not if he got wind that he was attempting to escape. He already proved that when they were stuck in the ice enclosure. Of course failing to escape would only encourage him to keep a closer eye on me, so I can't fail in my attempts to escape. He thought to himself, pausing in his thoughts when he realized he had finished all of his food. This is fine.... just means I can focus on my plans longer on my way to the healer, not that I care to be there.
He thought to himself, preparing to return the tray upfront before following Noah out of the cafeteria, down the hall, towards the healers quarters. "Do you always heal your enemy before locking them up in the dungeon?" He asked, choosing to break the silence, believing that is where Noah would take him after this. Not that it matters, it was far away from Noah's bedroom, so easier in his mind to escape from.

[attr="class","aodmain"] Positioned in front of Noah's lips was the simple, black radio used by all members of the Dark King's castle for easy communication and quick relaying of messages. These tools were essential for allowing the castle itself to operate smoothly, instantly delivered messages keying in everybody and updating them. As a result, the large building ran like clockwork, everything progressing with little incident to delay the continuation of daily jobs. Communication tools were crucial for the Dark Castle, considering the massive size of the structure built decades ago. Composure absorbed Noah as he quietly sat at the table, listening to the words echoing over the radio system. With the healer officially awake after being accidentally injected with the paralyzing medication, everything could progress as planned. The calm expression on Noah's face made it obvious he was not surprised by the healer's early waking. Dragons were weak to poisons and medical drugs, thus it was sensible for the healer to already be awake. An unconscious nod of satisfaction was provided when the healer stated he would be ready for when he inevitably brought his nephew back.

"Thank you. If there are any delays or emergencies, I will be sure to let you know," Noah responded.
[break][break]
After the simple messages way spoken, Noah turned off the microphone portion before hanging the device on his side. The idle buzz of patiently waiting speakers filled his ears, the lack of further action that evening becoming obvious. Rain tapped softly on the large cafeteria windows, Noah glancing towards them, listening to the calming noises. He would be required to wait until Ethan completed his supper before leading him back to the healing quarters. The cafeteria was filled with chatter, guards joyously discussing life details, some joking around and laughing loudly at today's stories. These were the normal occurrences of the castle, the cafeteria usually becoming the most lively location in comparison to other locations. A soft sigh escaped the king's mouth, an arm resting on the table while he stared out into the dreary wilderness. Hiding out there, somewhere, was the captain who transformed his husband... the man who cruelly forced the soldiers of Carter's unit to dispose of him. There were many screams that day, Carter's transformation making him unable to discern an innocent civilian from a dastardly enemy; they needed to kill him to save the village.

The Dark King's attention was completely engrossed in his thoughts until his nephew completed his meal. The recent events were worrying for the navy-haired man, especially since he was aware of the captain's capability. In Heaven, he was considered a powerful soldier and somebody who was well-respected among his peers; until he transformed Carter obviously. There were no doubts in Noah's mind that the villain came prepared to fight. Once Ethan had completed his food, Noah rose from his seat, leading him to the location where the dirty trays would stay. When the tray was placed on the stack, he began leading Ethan back towards the healer's quarters. The inquiry which escaped Ethan's mouth resulted in Noah's brows furrowing.
[break][break]
"You're family, you will receive a proper room in the castle," Noah explained formally. "I will show you the guest rooms after the healer has a look at you. I want to make sure you're not injured."
[break][break]
Smoothly, Noah navigated the many hallways, leading them back to the healer's quarters at a surprisingly quick pace. Many years of living in his large castle allowed the Dark King to become well-acquainted with the many hallways. Studying the layout of his castle had been an important objective which he accomplished shortly after moving in; it was best for his safety after all.
Ethan had finished his food, following Noah to the where the dirty trays went, before he followed him towards the healer's quarters. He had asked Noah a question, surprised with the answer that had returned to him. Well that was uncalled for. I might be closer to his bedroom then I once thought. He thought to himself, trying to figure out how he would out run Noah now, well assuming he gave his uncle enough time to notice his attempts to escape. "How about dungeon........ I hear there might be other prisoners down there, a few guards too....." He answered in return, unable to contain his disappointment in having to get a normal bedroom instead of the dungeon cell. "So, just making sure I understand this correctly. I have to be really bad... to get the dungeon, right?" He asked, unaware of how Noah might react to that question. He just really badly wanted the dungeon cell instead of a bedroom possibly closer to Noah. The closer he was to Noah's bedroom, the harder it would become to escape from the castle. It wasn't anything personal, he was sure if the captain was dead he might be able to make things right with Noah, it was just, the captain was out there and he wanted to work, which meant getting his stuff back.
He followed Noah down the hallway until they reached the healer's quarters, once inside, he was forced to undress down to his boxers so that the healer could see the many small scratches along his body. There were a few severe scars but the ice likely froze it in place, so the only thing needed by this point was disinfection and bandages to avoid them being reopened in the process. "Alright, your all patched up. Take it easy to avoid opening them up." The healer had answered, backing away from him. As if that would ever happen. He thought to himself, remaining quiet. He got dressed back in the clothing Noah's guard had brought for him, wishing for his own clothes. Noah would show him to his bedroom, he would wait for somebody interesting to come by for Noah to want a fling with, then use that chance to escape from the bedroom he didn't desire, to try and find his stuff, then attempt a final escape. It won't be long now. He thought to himself, determined as ever to play along for the sake of escaping later.

[attr="class","aodmain"] The decision to provide Ethan with a proper room was picked because of their family ties. Despite Carter being long deceased, Noah still cared immensely about those who brought him his beloved husband; including future members of the family. There were plenty of lavish guests rooms where his nephew could comfortably stay until everything was properly sorted and the captain disposed of. His nephew’s safety was taking top priority for the wraith, which meant tracking down and murdering the malicious captain. Unfortunately, accomplishing that objective would require patience considering Noah needed to settle his nephew into the castle beforehand. Besides, patrols could scout the area and provide the necessary information once the captain decided to surface. Aimlessly chasing the man would merely be a waste of time, especially if Noah's suspicions were correct and the man transformed into a lich. Teleportation hexes could result in the captain disappearing anywhere, however, Noah nonetheless desired to maintain his alert state and assume the despicable former Heaven soldier still lurked somewhere. The captain showed his cards, making it evident he wished to transform Ethan into a full-blown dragon.
[break][break]
The question about being stationed in the dungeon resulted in Noah's eyes flitting to Ethan, a brow raising in confusion to his peculiar request. He was unable to comprehend why exactly his nephew would prefer the dungeon over a proper room in the castle. The inquiries proceeded, the wraith not amused by his nephew’s profound requirement to get himself access to the dungeon.
[break][break]
“You will get a proper bedroom, and that is that. Why the hell are you so obsessed with the dungeon?” Noah asked, confusion evident in his tone.
[break][break]
Once they reached the healer’s quarters, Noah quietly watched as his nephew entered the room. Quietly, the navy-haired man remained outside the room, leaning against the nearby wall. He waited patiently, his thoughts stuck on the captain and his endless worries about what the villainous man would do. The captain was sneaky and rather tactful, thus Noah knew the maniacal man was already brewing a plan; whether it would be infiltration-based or patient waiting was an entirely different question. A soft sigh escaped the wraiths lips as he pondered these concerns he held. Defending the castle and his family was a top priority, but he could hardly predict what the captain would plan. Thoughts were interrupted when Ethan finally exited the room, evidently in better condition. There was a satisfied nod before Noah gestured for Ethan to follow, taking him into bedroom section. He knew a room beside him was open, the wraith deciding the safest choice was the room closest to him. The Dark King grabbed the doorknob, opening it to reveal the beautiful room, jerking his head for Ethan to enter.
