noah sullivan tell me reality is better than a dream. general info
appearance Being on the taller side, Noah is about 6’ tall with a rather lean and muscular body. These muscles cover the entirety of his body, even going lengths to have abs. Since Noah exercises regularly, his muscles are maintained and he appears to be rather healthy. This muscle mass has also placed Noah heavier on the weight scale, but nothing obsessive. His body has provided him with an attractive appearance, his arms and legs having muscle definition as well. From the beginning, he has possessed a fair complexion, although, his body has various blemishes. Years of training in Heaven’s army and being a soldier for the Assembly has resulted in many scars. These scars condense around his fists, a majority being old training scars. A majority of Noah’s scars appear to be created from sword slashes. He has a flower-like tattoo in black ink on the right side of his chest that also touches his right shoulder. His facial features are well-defined, having a beautiful sharpe face. There is an oval-shape to his face, his jawline leading down into a pointed chin. An average sized nose acts as the center of his face which upturns at the end. Oftentimes, he possesses a stern expression on his face with some exceptions to when he is being flirtatious. He has dark grey eyes, as expected considering his species, although, his eyes are a bit darker than average. His hair is a navy colour that is extremely long. His hair goes down his back, ending just above his waist with his hair being rather straight. He frequently puts a majority of his hair into a ponytail, while two bundles remain down in the front. The ponytail sits high, being rather tight to avoid it coming undone. He refuses to cut his hair unless it is just to snip off some split ends. He keeps his hair well-maintained since he loves his hair. Noah’s clothing varies depending on mood, but he prefers darker colours. He frequently enjoys comfortable clothing, anything loose enough to allow movement to defend himself. Formal clothing is more frequently worn, Noah, enjoying formal clothing the most in a majority of situations. This is mostly because of his self-proclaimed kingliness, making him prone to trying to keep a portion of his image. Occasionally, Noah will make the decision to wear more casual clothing, but these are usually on outings where he wants to blend in. There is a single trait of his clothing choices, which is his sword and scabbard that remains ar his side. personality
abilities Darkness Manipulation (minor) -- Advanced The ability to control darkness in a minor means, allowing for the user to merely create striker attacks and small shield. This is greatly limited compared to regular darkness manipulation. As a result, there are few things that Noah is capable of, but he does use what he can do to his advantage. Since he was formerly a fallen angel, he had plenty of time to learn the ropes on darkness manipulating to a minor degree. He can make many darkness spikes and aim them at an opponent, firing them at frightening speeds. Shields, on the other hand are rather difficult since their size remains rather small. This results in Noah being required to focus and only place a shield where the attack will hit, otherwise he could face damage, however, his shields are rather dense and able to take plenty of damage. Well lit areas can weaken the ability, allowing for fewer spikes to be made and shields to be smaller or less durable than average. Enhanced Speed -- Advanced The ability to access speed beyond that of a regular human, allowing for the user to become incredibly quick on their feet. With this ability, Noah can become extremely fast, even allowing him to run long distances in a matter of minutes. The intense speed he possesses allows for him to react to something very quickly, even reaching lengths to allow him to avoid sudden or quick attacks, although, this has its limits. Other enhanced speed users can overwhelm his speed or complex attacks can result in him failing to properly dodge certain attacks. Due to the nature of this ability, certain types of injuries, particularly movement limiting ones, can result in the ability becoming useless. Energy is another problem with Noah’s enhanced speed, since should he become low on energy, he would be unable to enhance his speed; because of this energy problem, Noah is unable to use this ability in conjunction with his enhanced strength. Enhanced Strength -- Advanced The ability to access strength beyond that of a regular human, allowing for the user to accomplish incredible things. Unlike most people, Noah is extremely strong, allowing for him to overpower others as a result. He is capable of breaking items or bones with his intense strength and using it to withstand powerful hits by blocking with his sword. Hefty objects can be easily lifted by him and even thrown, causing most to be impressed by his strength. It is extremely rare for others to overpower his strength on account of his capability with enhanced strength. By using this ability, Noah risks causing strain on his muscles, increasing the probability to harm them should he become too reckless. This can result in significant damage, such as torn muscles, which would force him to recuperate for days. Furthermore, everything requires energy and enhancing his strength takes plenty of energy, thus Noah is incapable of keeping this ability going for extended periods of time. Since this ability takes an immense amount of energy, Noah cannot use it in conjunction to his enhanced speed. Shadow Teleporting -- Mastered Teleporting through shadows is a gift Noah always fancied on account of the sheer possibilities. A merciless soldier such as himself has discovered a vast variety of ways to use the power. Whether I’d be a method of escape, entrance or to cause confusion in combat, Noah finds the ability to be limitless. He is quick to teleport through the shadows, easily melting into them and appearing at rapid speeds through an entirely different shadow. He is truly a master in the art and uses it heavily for his advantage. Unfortunately, there are some disheartening necessities to the ability itself. In brightly lit areas, Noah can struggle to teleport due to the lack of shadows. The lighter the shadow, the more difficult for Noah to enter and exit from the shadows in the room. While he can chain teleport, Noah is limited to teleporting within a 3-mile radius and can only chain teleport approximately 3 times in a row. Otherwise, he needs brief intermissions, the cooldown for the ability being roughly 2 minutes. When pushing himself to his limits, Noah can chain teleport roughly 5 times, although, he usually needs plenty of energy for this. The shadows that Noah plans to teleport through must be larger than himself and allow for him to walk/run or even crawl through. Shadows of inadequate size cannot be teleported through. Soul Sensory -- Beginner While frequently being a natural for wraiths, Noah finds an odd difficulty in viewing the grayscale spectrum. The power of his soul is overwhelming, blinding to himself and making it impossible for him to view others properly. Should he attempt to use it, the ability may disobey him and not function remotely. Naturals: Enhanced Dexterity backstory Years ago, when Heaven’s gates remained open and the War of Traitors was never a thought between the minds of any, Noah was born. An angel to a perfect family of Heaven dwellers, his luscious white wings a treasure among the people of his city: Atop the fluffy fields of clouds, his city stood as a pinnacle of Heaven, featuring the numerous prestigious creatures. There was nothing better for Noah considering the pristine conditions of Heaven itself. Similar to their son, Noah’s parents were angels and fairly well-known among the inhabitants of Akari’s greatness. They were always fighters, serving their incredible god with vigilance and determination to protect those of Heaven. Expectations were everywhere in Noah’s life: he was expected to grow into a fighter, expected to marry a woman, expected to sire children, expected to be moral under all circumstances and to defend the gates of Heaven from all foes. These were the types of things placed on him when he was merely a boy, his parents starting to go down the list when he was able to lift a wooden sword. Each day, he would train beneath the guidance of his father while his mother would watch. She was always the observing, her training in healing making her presence important for the boy’s well-being. Training occurred for extensive hours, resulting in Noah’s hands being calloused at a youthful age. For a few years, he trained beneath his father, honing his skills in swordsmanship until he could be enlisted into a soldier training program. Everything was different there as a professional air engulfed the entirety of the fields. While Noah was beyond confident, it was a radical difference from the calming backyard where his father taught him. Furthermore, there were commands aplenty being given which was something the youth was displeased. Disobeying resulted in harsh punishment, the officers were quick to deliver. These punishments came in the forms of physical labour and the training program even managed to leave Noah sore, although, something made the entirety of it worth the trouble. There was a certain beauty about him, his blonde hair appearing soft; Noah wanted to run his fingers through it. The body he had was a build of impressive muscles, possessing an attractive leanness. He was tall, dashing and the true definition of a soldier with a divine beauty. There was his sweet personality, his laughs possessing an essence to it that always managing to make him crack a smile or join in the enjoyment. The endearing smile he would flash caused Noah’s heart to flutter madly, almost as though he would suddenly be put under a spell. He was a dragon who possessed an incredible personality and an intense loyalty to Heaven. The soldier’s name was Carter, and the young man was hasty to become among his swooning fans because of his well-defined body. While there were plenty of women who showed conventionally favourable features, Noah only found himself staring at the handsome men in the army, but mostly Carter. As time went on, he would always attempt to get closer to this spectacular man who lit his world up. They spent plenty of time together, Noah submitting to naughtier intentions and occasionally sniping glances of Carter when the time arrived to shower. He simply could not resist how attractive the soldier was, his heart fluttering every instance they were around each other. Unfortunately, expectations resulted in Noah fighting his desires for a homosexual relationship with his closest friend. As the eldest child, he was expected to marry a woman and have children; to raise a “proper” family. This was because he would inherit plenty from his family, essentially being expected to become heir to the head of the house. They wanted the lineage to continue with Noah siring children and raising them. Emotions conflicted regularly, Noah having a difficult time knowing if fulfilling his parents or his own wishes were more important than the others. He struggled, his thoughts were elsewhere because of his uncertainty in the situation and wonders about his own sexuality. It was blatantly obvious he preferred men over women, yet, he was supposed to find interest in the gender he disliked. Since Carter was his closest friend, he noticed quickly that Noah was having troubles and decided they could go have a few drinks. He wanted to take Noah’s mind off of everything, but the actions that transpired were beyond expected. After numerous drinks, the duo had gotten extremely intoxicated, their judgement is clouded to extremes. Instead of returning to camp, they spent the evening in a hotel room where they proceeded to continue their drinking. Eventually, things changed when the pair began participating in the naughtier activities, a drunken Noah even admitting his feelings because of the impairment. The next morning, they were sharing a bed, neither dressed and both snuggling close to one another. They had difficulty parting from one another, both being happy that training was on break to allow soldiers to visit their families. A majority of the day was spent, remaining close to one another as they whispered sweet words. Once everything was talked out, the pair decided to secretly begin dating each other because of their wariness of admitting to their homosexual desires. When they returned from their break, Noah and Carter managed to convince the other soldiers to let them share a cabin which turned into an excellent decision. The pair enjoyed spending a majority of their time together, even going the length to snuggle most evening despite the single person cots; they simple pressed extremely close to one another. Their secret relationship became something of excellence, Noah and Carter spending plenty of time around one another, although, they hesitated coming out over their homsexual relationship. Since their relationship remained secretive, Noah’s parents began pressuring him to marry to keep the family line going. With his brother already married, his parents were being insistent and meddling with Noah’s love life. They would attempt to arrange dates with beautiful woman, but the man disliked them because of his love for men, and most of all Carter. As the days passed, graduation from the soldier academy was arriving, Noah becoming more attached to Carter because of what was occurring. He attempted to avoid his parents, instead spending more time with Carter to allow development on their relationship. When graduation arrived and left, the attempts increasing, frustrating Noah to the extreme both from his sexuality and committed relationship. Only a few months afterwards, did the young soldier find himself getting infuriated by the constant attempts to force him into relationships with women. Instead of providing information to his parents, he asked Carter if perhaps he could move in with him, to which his boyfriend agreed. When Noah’s parents were out of the house, the pair worked together to place all his items in boxes and move them to the small home Carter lived in. Once the hard work was completed, Noah left a note for his parents, stating he was annoyed by their overbearing behaviours and desired escape from them entirely, but continued to keep his relationship a secret. Escaping the meddlesome grasp of his parents was a warranted change, the shackles chaining him to his family disappearing when he began living alongside his beautiful Carter. When they were together, there were no limits to their happiness and despite having their arguments, Noah and Carter loved one another immensely. After another year of being together, the pair gained the bravery to reveal their relationship, not caring about the possibility of being judged for it. The homosexual relationship resulted in Noah’s parents sending a letter, going lengths to state they disowned him for his decision. Unexpectedly, the young man grinned, approaching his dragon lover with a proposition he thought would solve any issues. Nervously, Noah approached his boyfriend, Carter reading near the light of a candle, appearing tranquil; a surprising trait considering his occupation as a soldier. For a moment, Noah could only stare, impressed by the beauty of his lover while his mouth gaped in amazement. At some point, Carter noticed him, beckoning for them to snuggle, which was a usual nightly ritual in their relationship. As they cuddled on their old arm chair, Noah revealed the letter, allowing his boyfriend to read it, the dragon rolling his eyes from the pathetic excuse to disown a child. Time passed, a momentary silence settling as Noah organized his words, preparing to speak and finally mentioning the notion of them getting married. This was a surprise to his boyfriend as he commented on the abrupt nature of his proposal, but the angel began to explain his points. Since his parents disowned him, he no longer possessed a family, therefore, he desired to marry Carter to have family and finally banish the accursed surname of his parents. They continued to discuss the details, the conversation eventually reaching them whispering sweetness and displaying their love. Closer to the end of the evening, Carter agreed to marry Noah. Their wedding day was an interesting spectacle, the pair preferring to be married under the night of a full moon with a limited amount of people attending the occasion. After keeping their relationship hidden for years, there were still cold feet about being completely open about it. They wanted to take it slow and steady, provide people time to accept their relationship into existence instead of shoving it straight into their faces. However, at the end of the day, they cared about spending their days together in bliss. When the wedding was over, they returned home, finding enjoyment with the menial activities in married life; the pair adored seeing one another. There were times they enjoyed the quiet moments, while on some occasions they spared for thrills, excitement and to keep their skills sharp. Throughout the years they were married, they continued to service Heaven as soldiers, protecting the holy gates from invaders. They worked as a pair unit, their teamwork skills proving to be useful. They earned plenty of rewards for their bravery, but the stressed weighed as some affiliates of Heaven desired other means to support the battlefield. There were times where Noah and Carter would lay in bed quietly, allowing the stress to dissipate into nothing. Times were rough, but the married couple worked hard to keep their spirits high and stress low. Nights would be spent enjoying an evening of friends to relax, Noah’s brother remaining beside him despite the disowning. They, alongside, a familiar soldier were all close, the young couple finding relaxation whenever they could forget about the struggles of the world. Although, every morning when they would prepare to fight or defend Heaven, Noah noticed a weighing stress. Whenever they attended work, Carter would temporary disappear and return, stressed and slightly exhausted from what occurred, although, he remained vague despite Noah’s attempts to gain information. Every evening, the young angel would be fretting over his husband and frequently tried to relieve stress through various means. He desired to assist the man he adored, but it was difficult considering his lack of knowledge about the truth. There was a day where a battle instigated between a small settlement of Heaven species on Earth having criminal difficulties, resulting in a small dispatch of soldiers to assist with the situation. The problem appeared more burdensome when they arrived since there proved to be a band of mercenaries reigning havoc on the town. Despite being outnumbered, the soldiers rushed into the village to defend the citizens. They struggled and were forced to retreat due to the intensity of the situation and the size of their group. Time was ticking, winning was possibly off the table and suddenly, Noah felt a pair of hands roughly pull him back and a knife hover above his throat. The leader of their small soldier troop had a plan, a wild grin on his face as he called for Carter’s attention and began taunting him about having his precious lover. The angel struggled, but his leader kept a razor grip and slowly, Carter was being pushed off the edge of dragon powers. He shouted, trying to persuade his beloved Carter to cease the reckless actions, but eventually, he crossed the point of no return. When his husband grew into the beast, Noah was thrown to the ground by his leader while he attempted to control Carter. Everything was laid onto the table, the leader of the small troop stating this was the moment they were waiting for; the moment they could control a fully transformed dragon. The notion angered Noah, the angel grabbing his sword and slowly rising from the mud while Carter terrorized the mercenaries and his allies because of his recent change. With a single thrust, the sword broke through armour, his leaders back and out his front, Noah holding him still while tears slowly dribbled down his eyes. Once the life faded from his eyes, the angel turned his attention onto the larger problem, already mumbling apologized as he rallied the remaining soldiers onto a new attack, an attack to kill Carter. There were no more choices, the dragon was beyond his breaking point and would destroy everything in its path with no hopes of returning to human form. After a hasty strategy was formulated, they struck, many receiving life-threatening or deadly blows until finally the blow was struck and the beast fell to its demise. A handful of soldiers were left on the field, most mercenaries fleeing once Carter transformed. Slowly, Noah walked closer to Carter, eyes gazing over his dragon form while tears welled in them. They tried to comfort him, but he refused to listen, breaking away towards the forest and claiming he would no longer serve Heaven’s army. During the evening, he made a small camp, his wings turning a pitch black because of the murder he committed; he knew he sinned, but he accepted it. In the night, his brother and the familiar he was close with joined him at the small campfire after leaving the army because of the circumstances of Carter’s death. They travelled together across Earth, growing closer as the years ticked on and found others joining them. When the War of Traitors arrived, Noah was quick to convince everybody to join Hell’s cause, thus he returned to be a soldier, but to Heaven’s opposing side. The battles were grueling, Earth being the primary battleground for the feuds between Heaven and Hell. Although, there was a battle along a small ridge that proved to be too much for Noah at the time. They had been fighting for extensive hours, challenger after challenger approaching with a few managing to recognize his face. He fought through every challenge, eventually earning himself a person of high ranking in the Hell army. As time proceeded, he began adopting the alias Dark King for his strategical work and skillful work in battle. For two-hundred years, Noah fought against Heaven, a disgrace to his family and blood filled with rage. In his eyes, Heaven caused Carter’s early death despite reports stating the captain of their unit acted on his own accord. Blindly, the fallen angel condemned anybody who associated with Heaven as bad unless they dropped their weapons to join Hell. He only trusted his familiar friend and his brother because they stuck with him throughout the years, going lengths to decide to fight beside him in Hell’s army. Unfortunately, the War of Traitors eventually closed as Volos was sealed into Hell and Akari sealed to her “corrupted” Heaven. The soldiers were left to their own devices for a moment, a small group following Noah as their commander and the fallen angel desired Heaven’s blood to splatter across the ground. The fight proceeded for a few months, Noah’s small dispatch working towards disposing of any Heaven species not associated with their group, although, the endeavor was costly. When Thanatos began sending out his loyal undeads to slay the significant affiliators in the War of Traitors, Noah was high on his list. Vengeance, that is what arrived with Noah’s death as the soldiers woke to find their king brutally stabbed in his sleep. Blood covered the room, the violent crime having evidence of hatred in each action. There would only be pain for a moment, their leader’s neck likely being slit before the attack continued. The grounds were desperately searched, the group desiring to capture the person who murdered their king. Footsteps were found, but they led nowhere. The murder weapon was nowhere to be found and unfortunately, their king was deceased from the attack. There were interrogations, the group losing members because of Noah’s absence, some believing the members who left to be the murders. Mourning occurred before they lifted Noah’s body, burying it beside where Carter was left. The graves were tended to for month while their king remained absent in Purgatory, on a search through the greyscale realm for somebody special. Death was a time for reconnecting, the dead man already knowing the individual he desired to find. Finding Carter was the primary objective, Noah questioning numerous people about the dragon’s whereabouts until finally finding his beloved Carter. Slowly, he approached the house, grinning as he provided a few hasty knocks to the door. When the door opened, he expected Carter alone, only to find him standing next to a beautiful woman. The greetings were awkward, the dragon promptly requesting the woman to stay inside, addressing her as honey. Merely hearing the word being used for somebody else hurt Noah’s heart, the questions beginning quickly as he stepped closer to his lover. Unfortunately, he was pushed away, Carter apologizing as he explained the woman was his wife and soulmate. Immediately, Noah felt heart broken, already aware he stood no chance against a woman who was also Carter’s soulmate. Tears began to accumulate, Noah silently turning away to leave, shaking the dragon’s grip off when he begged to talk it out. Somewhere, Carter still cared and love Noah, but unfortunately, his former lover refused to allow a conversation to transpire. He hid himself away, allowing Carter to look and shout his name until finally he retreated to his house. Once everything was clear, Noah left, deciding to get directions to Thanatos. He wanted to return to Earth where he would not be forced to watch Carter providing somebody else with love and care. When he approached Thanatos, he was referred to as by name and title, the god making it evident he knew Noah’s identity. A melancholic Noah begged to return to Earth, going lengths to kneel. He explained why being inside of Purgatory was harmful to his mind, pleading to return to Earth where he could find a shred of happiness. The conversation proceeded, a single request being made by the god. Once Noah returned, he could not attempt to proceed with the war, Thanatos going lengths to threaten sending another soldier after him. Grimly, Noah agreed to the promise and abruptly awoke in a colourful and lively forest. His body rested above Carter’s grave, the remaining few who decided to stay to tend to their king’s grave finding him and bringing him inside. His adventure to Purgatory was accounted with his closest friends, his brother and the familiar, who immediately began comforting the heartbroken wraith. A majority of the years were spent as a mercenary, Noah accumulating immense wealth from his soldier status and the mercenary missions. During these years, the wraith became more inclined to invite attractive men home to participate in flings. Meanwhile, his brother and familiar settled down, having families of their own. A few years after Zeredah’s rise, Noah discovered his brother supporting the terrorist group, resulting in a sudden decision. The Dark King suggested returning to Carter’s grave, which was in the Ivory Forest, and perhaps building a castle-like manor nearby. Nobody knew about their affiliation when the construction of the castle began, the stony structure being created large enough to house the two families, guards and servants of the castles. When construction was completed, his brother had a location to live nearby Lorsette where the many Assembly attacks were taking place. The familiar friend was adopted as a personal guard, the tie being broken between his former affiliate to bind to Noah. A tradition started from it, a tournament to decide who would become the next guard to protect their king. Throughout the years, Noah persuaded many to have nights of pleasure with him, even going lengths to leak into the familiar family who stood beside him for so many years. In 1879, the Assembly gathered members to attack Aria Village and capture it. From afar Noah watched, already claiming to be a neutral party in the war between the TRS and Assembly, thus was ignored during the attack. He even went lengths to request the servants and guards to bring their families to the castle to avoid injury. During the brief fright to assert dominance over Aria, Noah’s brother was killed in the struggle. The family of his brother arrived to deliver the upsetting news, the Dark King finding himself hurt by the notion of his brother being gone. There would be nobody to take care of his family which was struggling with the loss. While Noah desired to stay out of the fighting, he knew the family could not simply leave the Assembly without risking death or worse consequences. With determination to preserve the family his brother devoted himself to, Noah joined the Assembly to assist with the efforts, deciding it could be an excellent source of income. Years of familiar competitions remained with similar results, Noah’s best friend still standing by his side, although, he admitted to desiring peace. The man’s family had grown massive, leaving numerous marvellous warriors to replace his position as a personal guard. During a competition which started around 2015, Noah’s best friend bowed out of the competition with his king’s permission. As the wraith watched the proceedings of the fights, he was already certain somebody else would win aside from the guard he received. A move of improper sword use allowed for one of the youngest in the competition to take victory. The motion infuriated the king who was bound to his word, especially since the boy was still a minor. After breaking the contract and suffering the harsh consequences, Noah was bound to Holden who would become his personal guard. As the young boy grew and matured, the king found him growing quite attractive, thus when Holden became 18 the flirting began. Unfortunately, his personal guard refused to his disdain, but the wraith refused to give up easily. A beautiful man like Holden easily captured his attention, although, he found himself growing to like this interesting man. misc - Likes: Sparing, flings, swords, professionalism, alcohol, sweets, dainties, card games, practicing, fights, movies, being around others, being in control, long hair, brushing hair, snuggling/cuddles, being physically close to someone - Dislikes: Loneliness, most Heaven species, gum, bitter tastes, improper sword use, obnoxious people, condescending voices, being injured, others disobeying orders, hot weather, his past, meddling, his parents, expectations - Fears: Gum getting in his hair, losing people he cares about, death, fully transformed dragons - He frowns heavily upon improper sword use since the weapon has saved his life numerous times. - Noah has a personal hatred of Heaven after his demise, he blames the kingdom itself for his friend losing control.
