Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

adually, autumn was transitioning into winter, each passing day resulting in the air became cooler. There was some semblance of thin snow or frost littering the ground every morning, accumulating throughout the evening. Birds were beginning to gather in flocks, evident by the chorus of squawks, escaping the land to avoid the cold grasp of winter with plans to return after the snow and ice melted. Above was the shining sun which provided warmth, diminishing the effects of the dropping temperatures of autumn. There were only a few people outside during the morning hours, most having left for their chosen occupations or school, which was unfortunate for a young informant who wandered the streets. After several hours of their parents nagging them over their current clothing and insisting on warmer articles, Felix had finally escaped their overbearing grasp. They loved their parents immensely, but their overbearing behaviour became suffocating on most occasions; most particularly their mother. The woman's guilty conscious over the blindness her child received made her fretful and a frequent culprit of keeping Felix from their duties.
There were plenty of simple, unnecessary adjustments she felt required to accomplish, fiddling with collars, keeping the zipper high, checking for breaks in the cane and several verbal lectures Felix had heard millions of times. While the blind informant could comprehend her concerns, they could never silence the fretting with their compensation for their lack of sight. At times, Felix wanted them to cease their constant fretting and forced help; they never granted them permission to be independent it seemed. Independence was an intense craving for the young individual since it remained the opportunity to prove their capability without their parents' insistence to help. Their eyes were a malformation, making it impossible to heal the disconnected nerve tissues, but the sight was never an issue. Educational problems were solved with their eidetic memory while their electricity manipulation managed to work as a sensor. Even while they walked down the sidewalks of the coastal area, electric sparks pulsated out, providing Felix with an idea of the shapes, buildings and people around them; they could even read letters if they were indented enough.
Despite their useful method of sight, the cane proceeded to tap against the concrete in a rhythmic motion. The sound echoed around them, resulting in the small handful of people noticing their presence. They could easily imagine how some stares lingered considering there was nobody around to guide them through the coastal region. Those types of services would be wasted on them since they mapped out the city, a mixture of enhanced memory accompanied by electricity manipulation assisting in providing Felix with a general idea of Lorsette. They moved smoothly through the streets, listening to the various conversations of the people around them, although, most appeared to be menial gossip or unnecessary information. The electricity proceeded to sense the world around them, eventually noticing a pair of figures in an alleyway, a single word being noticed by their passing. They were speaking about the Assembly of Phantoms, which was always an interesting topic for a TRS informant.
Silently, Felix walked passed before leaning against the wall closest to the alleyway to listen to the unfolding conversation. A hushed voice spoke about the recent affairs of the Assembly, even referencing the horde which occurred in the summer and resulted in numerous casualties. Afterwards, there had been nervousness prominent in the TRS ranks, most events receiving heightened security to avoid further loses of citizens and agents. The pair proceeded to speak, motions of lighting a cigarette noticed by the electric sensor reaching out to inspect the situation. The informant proceeded to listen, the pair appeared to be merely catching up on recent events as one talked about their son's graduation from the TRS. A soft, inaudible sigh escaped Felix's lips as they straightened from their position and returned to tapping their cane against the concrete.
There were days where no crucial information would be discovered, and Felix hoped today would provide them with hefty clues to the Assembly's following moves. While Assembly movements were rarely discussed inside the borders of Lorsette, the blind informant already knew their parents would never allow for a journey to Aria. Should they even suggest the concept, Felix could imagine being condemned to their room for days without being admitted time to perform their job. The blind informant only desired to assist the cause against the Assembly of Phantoms, but their parents placed limits on what could be done. Travelling to Aria to gather information would be beyond dangerous, the purple-haired informant plenty capable to imagine the appalled expressions of their parents and the lecture to proceed.
Their walk through the coastal area took the young informant far as they passed by the expansive Starlight Beach and proceeded in the direction of the various warehouses and stores functioning near the shores. As they entered the different area, Felix managed to notice the number of people growing thicker. In whispers, people conversed with others about a recent terror attack in the area which caught the informant's attention. Quietly, they tapped their cane, allowing for their electricity manipulation to lead them through the crowd while their ears fixated on listening to the crowd around them. Instead of attempting to join a conversation, the agendered individual decided to spend their time listening, deciding they could interact with the crowd around them once they discovered somebody with an adequate sum of information. Where there was Assembly activity, there could always be witness reports about an Assembly soldier being in the area, allowing for another identity to be recognized by the TRS.
Recognizing the enemy was beyond important, Felix already knowing they could absorb the mass of information and be able to recount everything in incredible detail to the various officers at the TRS headquarters. The only concerned was the possibility of the noise being overwhelming; their eidetic memory left them rather sensitive to noise. Despite the mild concern, Felix found a location to stand, listening to the conversation, being solely the listener in the situation.

❝
The ill-will of the Assembly of Phantoms strikes again, with terror attacks happening almost every time people go about and start their day. Lorsette would be much peaceful without fiends like these, but sadly it was only far off from the truth. TRS Agents are always expected to help out in eradicating the Assembly's forces and trying to regain peace throughout the city; that is their philosophy around here, after all. And now they are assigned a mission to find out what happened to the latest Assembly attack that was being talked about all over the city.
One of the agents who wanted to join the mission was Jason Flanagan, the workaholic apprentice always known for taking missions even though it was past his limits. He had signed up for the mission, and he attended the first meeting to be conducted about it; but it was only then when he entered the meeting room was it announced that he wouldn't be joining the mission for his personal reasons. Everyone seemed to agree to this, but Jason protested, trying to reason with the manager at first. Only then was he greeted with a warning that if he doesn't rest, he'll be fired.
Now Jason did not want that, and even if it was the uttermost bit regrettable on his part, he eventually agreed not to go. Everyone had been patting him on the shoulder and telling him "it was for your own good" and "we don't want to stress yourself out". He could agree with those statements, but still in denial. It was his duty as a TRS agent to go to missions without being asked for, after all! Why wouldn't he go for the job?
But then again, he also still did not want to be fired.
So there he was, walking around and doing nothing but... watch. Keep a look around for any potential danger, but for the most part relaxing himself. Of course, there was also a possibility that he'd accidentally bump into that guy again, and that's one of the few reasons he did not want... it is still a necessity to proceed with caution.
He didn't know why, but after a few hours of walking he found himself in the sea shore, and it was shocking enough since he wasn't dressed to be there. But he simply walked, simply watched, simply listened in to people's conversations which by time started to intrigue him. As expected, the Assembly was the talk of the town; the recent attacks had certainly built up fear in the hearts of the citizens. He could see TRS Agents loitering around, and he did his best to stay quiet; if ever one of them would approach him, and ask him questions, he'd just simply answer that he was simply walking around and nothing more.
And so Jason stopped by a nearby bench and simply sat down, watching the sea, all the while allowing his ears to pick up the conversations being made by the nervous people around him.

ilently, Felix listened to the conversations occurring around them. Dozens of voices, most quietly whispering about Assembly involvement in the spontaneous attack. The terror, now a black dust on the street, was crucial evidence to the involvement of the Assembly, however, information about an involved soldier remained limited. There was a possibility of an Assembly soldier still being in the vicinity, but information of that calibre was limited. A few choice people stated they caught a glimpse of a soldier while others gossiped about the source being discreditable. These reactions piqued the blind informant’s curiosity as they quietly leaned against one of the buildings. A majority of the city was unfamiliar with Felix’s affiliation with the TRS, which granted them chances of difficult to obtain information. When eyes glanced their way, pity and sympathy were frequent reactions, mingling in with confusion; they were blind, people believed it was a weakness. People moved within the crowd, locating neighbouring clusters to share their opinions before law enforcement provided the entire story. Once it happened, some theories and beliefs would be dropped to adhere to the experts. Facts would be relayed, orbiting around the city until months later the news was merely whispers between citizens.
Due to this frequent trend, Felix stationed themself to listen to the raw facts. Information conflicted, the blind informant listening as a single group stated the presence of an Assembly soldier while another stated the terror acted alone. A few foolish individuals went to the length to state Zeredah was present, but already Felix believed that to be merely a myth. The famous leader of the Assembly of Phantoms seldom revealed herself in the public eye, instead appearing to move her pieces along the chess board. After a few moments, Felix pushed away from the wall, wondering about the crowds while their cane idly tapped the pavement below, head facing forward while static electricity felt the world around them. The informant proceeded to wander through the crowd, gathering the crucial information and sorting fact from fiction. There was plenty of work for the purple-haired individual's enhanced memory, although, they remained concerned about the possibility of facing the ill side-effects that arrived with their gift.
There was the subtle throbbing of their head, the commotion sparking noise among the rather large group and once the RCMP arrived to assist the on duty hunters, it became probable the sound would increase further. Loud noises were a frequent enemy to Felix's enhanced memory, the ability bringing fourth nasty migraines because of thunderous and obnoxious sounds. A soft sigh escaped the informant's lips as they slowly weaved towards the edge of the crowd, their immense intelligence providing an approximate time for police arrival. They did not retreat far when their static sight managed to provide them a "vision" of a man who sat on a bench. The man in question leaned more towards the taller side from what Felix's electro-sensing could tell with longer hair. Facial features were fuzzy from their strange version of sight, but the informant noticed the manner of which he appeared to be sitting; he was listening. The man's lack of interaction with the crowd accompanied by locating a convienent place to iddly sit while people discussed the scene around him.
Curious captured Felix's interest, the young individual moving in the direction, although, attempting to appear mostly sightless. The cane continued tapping against the concrete until the subtle thwap against the wooden bench, the blind individual's hand reaching out to grab the back before sitting down, purposefully brushing close to avoid questions in response to them being aware of the other man's presence.
"My apologies," they mumbles neutrally, shuffling over to give room. "Everybody seems to be concerned over the recent attack."
The following comment was designed to be a subtle prompt towards speaking about the desired topic, Felix already devising plans to carry out the objective of gathering information. After accomplishing the task for several years, the blind informant had their methods of gaining data.

Jason listens in, holding his coat close once wind picks up and hits earth, blowing past the citizens with a remarkable soft yet quick breeze. It gets colder and colder, yet people are not afraid of it just for the sake of huddling each other in a crowd and sharing the information they had gathered. Some information Jason considers truth while some are obviously myths, including that statement of which Zeredah supposedly showed up. Zeredah is a woman shrouded in mystery, and would not show up even in the events where her minions had made it most crucial for the city. Other than that, there was nothing more to be said.
It gets noisier and noisier once more and more words are exchanged, but that doesn't distract him from what is happening around him aside the crowd. That's why when he feels a sudden presence beside him, he shivers and almost jumps to the side, only to see a blind man sitting just a few inches from him on the bench. If they were a TRS Agent and would decide to report to the higher-ups that he'd been working again, he'd surely be fired. And as said, Jason didn't want that.
They don't seem to be from the TRS, though. At least, that's what Jason hoped.
First he thought they were a male, but looking at their face now he wasn't sure. So he considered not to question it any further. Staring is rude, so he looks away from them and turns back to staring at the beach, where many are running along the shore. His ears start to pick up the noisy conversations and arguments of the crowds nearby. Jason could probably just leave, he'd be no use around here anyway--
"My apologies, everybody seems to be concerned over the recent attack."
That mere statement brings his attention back to the other, and for a moment he starts to question if the other person was truly talking to a stranger like him. Jason shakes his head and sighs, looking away from him once again and staring at the shadowed leaves looming up above where they are sitting. "...So I've heard." He mutters, loud enough for the other to hear. "Others say there was a lone terror, while others argue there were many of them. Some people even speculate that Zeredah did show up, but that's just likely a myth." He heaves a deep breath before continuing. "Just this morning there have been reports of 30 people killed simultaneously while in a building altogether. Workers in that said building, investigators said."
Suddenly he remembered what his higher-up had said to him, and he jolts up, rubbing a hand against his face. "Argh, dammit. I'm not supposed to be working, but look what I'm doing right now. I can't help it." All this was mostly to himself, but if the other would hear then he would just have to hear what the other would say about all the incidents. But Jason should probably be going home soon.
...Not today, though. There's still a conversation going on.

tatic flowed through the air, allowing the young individual access to their special type of sight. There were few easily detected features on account of Felix’s blurry method of seeing. Facial features were a rough sketch of their company’s face, although, the informant was hesitant to fixate their electricity manipulation to receive a more detailed view. While Felix has doubts about people detecting their powers from focused use, the effects of static were noticeable under most circumstances. The effects unfortunately made it difficult to detail somebody’s face for future recognition without their complete oblivion.
There was an aimless manner to which Felix glanced around, following sound queues as their eyes stared unfocused beyond the tall man they conversed with; a bane of being unable to gaze through them. The mention of the recent attack hastily captured the attention of their companion, the man becoming invested in the notion to provide the varying information Felix had overheard; there was evening a shake of the head according to the individual’s electricity manipulation.
Presumably, it was a natural instinct to make such movements even if under normal circumstances a sightless person could not witness the display. These minor details were always a mild curiosity to Felix, the blind informant remembering how strangers would gesture while they spoke. Unfortunately, there was little time to fixate on the curiosities of instinctively accomplished movements. Further details were provided about the nature of the attack, the stranger managing to establish a count of the deceased, most probably being workers of the building.
There were nods of acknowledgement from Felix, confirming they were listening to every precious word that escaped the stranger's lips. Each motion, word and sound was captured in the endless archive of the blind informant's mind, storing it into their enhanced memory for future access; the ability was truly exquisite. The final comment about not being working piqued Felix's curiosity, the blind informant raising a brow and cocking their head to the side slightly.
"Hmm? Conducting research should be permitted during work and leisure hours in any establishment. Certainly, conveniently being a bystander is not against the regulations of your workplace, correct?" Felix inquired in a neutral, sophisticated tone. "Is there a reason behind this vexing restriction?"
Information was valuable to an informant, thus notions of limiting research on account of leisure hours sounded ridiculous to Felix, although, they possessed little data of the situation. The blind individual reclined against the back of the bench and increased the field of their static to allow for further analysis of their surroundings. Suspicious characters could be lurking around any corner, and Felix was determined to detect anybody who made peculiar movements. The conversations proceeded, the truth gradually rising through the rumours, until suddenly the thunderous boom of speakers as police voices.
Their authority commanded citizens to retreat from the scene as TRS arrived on scene. The abrupt sound of the loudspeakers caused Felix to flinch, the blind informant possessing a sensitivity to loud noises. As the noise continued, the gifted individual pressed a hand against their forehead as their static sensory blurred slightly from lack of focus. Enhanced memory came with the price of headaches arriving hastily.

Everyone around is still noisy, and Jason is not able to focus on one thing because of the conversations going on. They were still mostly about the Terror attacks, something he's heard too much about and is forced to not care about it anymore. He remembers that he has company, however, and as he tells him about the situation he could see understanding nods from the corner of his eye; Jason knows he still has their attention.
He then complains about his own stubborn attitude to come to work even when told not to anymore, prompting his company to ask him why it is so. Jason turns to him with a frown, looking miserable. Explaining the situation to mere strangers would not comfort him in any other way; it would only make him worse, considering he had just relayed what he had found out to a person he doesn't even know. But he is here now, and so Jason sighs, lowering his head and staring at the ground.
"...I work for the TRS." He begins speaking, voice silent but loud enough for his company to hear. "This morning I came to work for the cases, but my boss just suddenly decided it would not be a great idea for me to go to work today. He insisted I not tire myself again, or if I remain persistent to work then I get fired." He chuckled nervously to himself, turning to his company once more. "I mean... I don't look tired, do I? I have bags under my eyes, sure, but that isn't to say I wasn't tired..."
( his body digresses. of course he's tired, he just doesn't want to admit it, as he's too much in love with his work and would not do anything in his power to reject it )
The sound of police sirens and later the voices of officers blaring at the speakers prompts him to turn his head and look on at the situation. More TRS agents start to flock the area, making him flinch in horror from where he was. If he's sighted here, he's going to be fired. Might as well just leave and leave this to his comrades--
He turns to his company and raises an eyebrow once he reaches a hand to touch his forehead, and suddenly this questioning look is replaced with worry. Usually people who react this way are sensitive to loud sounds; like, say, the loud sound of announcements from a speaker. "A-Ah... are you alright?" He asks, standing up from where he is and approaching the stranger. "Do you need help? You seem like you are having a headache..."

here were a few things unsuitable to questions to ask a blind individual about, one being about the subtle features of tiredness. The inquiry resulted in Felix lifting a brow at their companion; he must have not realized the informant was sightless. Fortunately, the strange inquiry was accompanied with further information about the mysterious man, most specifically his occupation. The stranger was a comrade, a fellow affiliated with the Terror Response Syndicate who Felix failed to converse with until this point; however, the informant seldom relayed their information in crowded rooms. They wanted their blind detector to remain off the radar to Assembly members, thus the date Felix collected was oftentimes relayed in quiet, secluded rooms to trusted TRS agents and later spread through the mouths of other agents and through meetings. A faint sigh escaped the blind informant's lips as they faced Jason, staring blankly at the mysterious man they met today.
"I apologize, but I am unable to provide you with those types of opinions," Felix began before carefully pushing up the circular glasses. "I am completely sightless."
The words were stated bluntly, hints of envy crawling into them, although, the tone remained incredibly mechanical. The blind informant was not emotional, resulting in feelings being vaguely conveyed on rare occasion. A grimace became evident on Felix's face when the police arrived on scene to handle the situation. The thunderous noise erupting from the loudspeaker, which wreaked havoc on Felix's mind. Enhanced memory, like various other abilities, arrived with their flaws which the user had to overcome. Unfortunately, for the blind informant, it was the excruciating loud sounds that felt like sledgehammers being swung full-force to their head. After a few moments, Felix covered their ears, attempting to block out the sound until realizing their companion was talking. The stranger was concerned over their health, which was rather reasonable considering the blind informant was in pain because of all the noise. Wordlessly, the informant shook their head at the first question, answering no to confirm they were not alright.
"Noise... is always problematic," they mumbled quietly. "I will be fine."
Slowly, Felix rose from the bench as they attempted to navigate, but already found themself lost from the lack of static. People were being pushed back, the large fray of bodies being nearly impossible for the sightless informant to travel through under any circumstances. The blind individual flinched, but their fierce independence made them hesitant to take their words back and request assistance. There were, unfortunately, certain objectives Felix was unable to accomplish alone because of their blindness. They despised these moments since their craving for independence would be snatched out of their hands because of the nature of the situation and this problem was one they needed help in unless they wanted to desperately try and navigate through alone.

He stays silent for the most time, clearly not interested in listening to the conversations going on at all. His conversation with the stranger beside him keeps him hooked, however, and somehow he is intent on listening to every word this fellow has to say. It was only then does he reveal that he is actually blind after Jason remarks about his fatigue. One second look and he realizes he should have known about that. The big eyeglasses make it obvious enough that this person was a blind man.
"...I... didn't realize that. I'm sorry if I have offended you in any way." He closes his eyes with a sigh, turning to stare at the beach again. "Must've been me not noticing you have eyeglasses to indicate your condition. Tired eyes can miss much sometimes."
The noise of the police loudspeakers disrupts their conversation, and the crowd is taken into a panic, with people running around with distressed looks on their faces. He flinches and turns to where the police are situated; it's unfortunate enough that they are accompanied by TRS agents from different Units. Seeing him here would potentially have him fired from his job.
He doesn't have time to worry about himself, however. His blind company reassures him he will be fine, but Jason knows he is anything but fine. Noise is always disturbing, true. But noise that could potentially lead you to severe headaches is dangerous to one's health and could already potentially lead you to seek medical attention. But at least he's fine when it came to physical state, that is. He can still walk, he can still stand. Jason should be relieved.
...He's not.
As he watches the blind acquaintance waddling unconsciously into the crowd, Jason follows after, realizing he could have been too late to catch up with the other in a distressed crowd as this. He struggles and apologizes a lot of times, before continuing again. The crowd in the beach is thickening and he knows it would be difficult to find the blind one from here. Jason is worried, however. He's blind and he's traversing a sea of people that could potentially cause him harm just by trampling and bumping at him. What were he to do if he were to fall to the ground?
He sees the purple hair in the crowd and rushes to grab them in the arm to support their stance.
"...Let's get you somewhere less crowded." He whispers to the other sincerely, holding his wrist as he would guide him to the spaces the crowd would leave for them to pass through.

Another terror attack, with approximately thirty dead. That annoyed Enigma truly, not some overlay to fit with the Amanda mask. More dead bodies meant less to eat. Honestly, terrorists were so messy. They had no sense of subtly, or of organization; no, they simply made a mess. When she went after sentient beings, she tracked them for weeks and planned and either slipped into their life - which she couldn't, not as Amanda - or made sure they wouldn't be messed.
The whole thing stank of the Phantoms. Which, well, Enigma could understand some of their purposes, but in the end, she would side with the TRS any day. The TRS made it easier to get food - Phantoms were chaos. Chaos was bad when you didn't want people to truly know who you were.
As per usual, people kept out of Amanda's way. There was a subtle shiver in the crowd, a slight sense of unease that had them moving away from her. It was slight enough that it didn't cause chaos, thankfully. Enigma knew the truth, but the mask just chalked it up to being good at her job. So did her partner.
The chaos had them separated, however, and she let out a heavy sigh upon the realization that she was alone. Wherever her partner was, it wasn't here! All the same, she continued with her business, determined to get people out of the way so an investigation could actually happen. She was a detective, not crowd control. She had done her time with that - yes, actually, not just a backstory! You can't just throw yourself into an ideal position, that wasn't how it worked! - and she had earned the ability to go to actual cases and find actual evidence and not have to deal with common criminals.
She nearly ran into someone. That startled her; people usually dodged... But the reason quickly became clear why they did not. There were dark glasses over their eyes, a cane in their hand, a person trying to help guide them. Even Enigma's irritation faded, and the skinwalker let out a heavy sigh.
"You okay there?" she asked, "Sounds like some bad timing on the beach. Heh. Look, why don't you go with your friend - right now it's dangerous with us cops everywhere, right?" She smiled at them, even though they couldn't see it. The person with them would, and even still the smile should help with the unease she usually spread everywhere.
Someone bumped in behind her, and she cussed. "Shit!" Scowling at the other stranger, who had no excuse, she shook her fist at them. "Watch where you're going!" She would call that one names, but she was on duty. She shook her head.
"Looks like all three of us are caught in the crowd. Come on, let's see if we can't make our way out of here. Honestly, people..." She huffed. It would be terrible to draw attention to the stranger's blindness, but really everyone else needed to pay more attention. The last thing anyone wanted was more death count.
"Sure, AP struck again, but let's not be stupid," she muttered, mostly to herself. She wasn't sure if it came from the persona she wore or from herself. Maybe both; she couldn't play Amanda so well if she hadn't truly cultivated those beliefs in reality.

here was something about the stranger presuming them to have sight which amused and reassured Felix. Perhaps they desired hearing their static “sight” could deceive another individual into believing they could see, although, perhaps it was the man’s tiredness. The apology was responded to with a simple wave of the hand, the blind individual being rather indifferent to the callous assumption about their sight. They supposed after years of blindness, they grew use to the offensive words spoke in regards to it. A fierce harbouring for independence fueled Felix’s decision daily, the blind individual despising the notion of relying on others. Frequently, their overbearing parents constant dotting and fretting resulting in them desiring the power to work on their accord. For years, they depended on others, but they strived to act independently with the assistance of their electricity manipulation. The ability to “see” via static allowed Felix a new perspective, which was more insightful than basic human eyes. Under normal circumstances and with proper focus, the radius around them allowed Felix to be “gazing” in each direction.
Unfortunately, the obnoxious noises of loud speakers proceeded to meddle with the blind individual's focus, leaving their vision fuzzy. Sensing the world became blurry, people melding together as small gaps began fading from their sensory. Slight details faded entirely, forcing Felix to gloss over the changes across the ground. These subtle changes were intimidating, but the blind informant held confidence in their enhanced memory and faint static they maintained. As they stood courageously on the edge of the group while people filtered through. Time remained to request assistance, yielding their independence to avoid the possibility of getting trampled amidst the endless throng of moving bodies. Alas, for Felix, the necessity for complete independence was hounded since becoming a teenager and discovering their unique manner of sight; their sight was advanced enough to fool a teacher under some circumstances, certainly they could handle a meagre crowd, right? A deep breath was inhaled, confidence gaining until finally stepping into the fray. Initially, things progressed smoothly until the blind informant was bounced around by the retreating people around them.
The unexpected movements were disoriented, especially considering the thunderous noises proceeded to meddle with the memory process. There was a pounding migraine brimming, until finally sending and sensing the static currents were limited to a small, insignificant radius. Concern narrowly breached Felix's face, although, they promptly returned to their impassive expression. The attempt at steadily walking proceeded, the informant finding themself lost in the crowd. Abruptly, a hand secured itself around Felix's arm, causing the blind individual to stiffen from a sudden rush of fear. The problem with secretly gathering information was detection, which could lead to a variety of negative consequences from the person's folly. When the man whispered, the informant relaxed slightly as they remembered the TRS agent from the bench, although, their expression subtly shifted to shame. The blind individual's eyes remained downcast while a small frown crawled onto their face. Before the leading could proceed, another person arrived, a feminine voice managing to reach Felix's ears. There was only silence from the TRS informant as they became hesitant to speak after their rather reckless decision which ultimately fail.
Independence was a fleeting thing for Felix and never held firm on account of the deteriation in their optic nerve. Sight could merely be a wonder, but never realized because of the defect which plagued them from birth. Instead of fighting the assistance they received, the blind individual silently accepted it with a sigh while wishing for once they could be capable enough to traverse a loud crowd without help.

The crowd doesn't seem to be thinning. Some are screaming out loud, some are not even considering on watching where they are going. It's all the more reason for one to be careful. But his companion had still chosen to go; Jason could not let him go alone with his current condition, however. Crowds are dangerous, especially when they are all in a commotion.
Jason's grip on his blind company is still firm, all the while he looks around for a safe pathway to cross through. No one is making any space for others to exit; all are going one direction, but they aren't stopping, and are travelling in rather dangerous speeds. Jason is about to walk off, having the other with him, but stops once a feminine voice makes herself known. He turns from where he is looking and sees a young woman, possibly wanting to assist.
Jason smiles at her. "Indeed, we are trying to." He states, eyes furrowed as he looks across the crowd again. "The crowd isn't giving us any space to escape at all. Speeds of the traversing crowd are very high; we must exercise caution."
She declares that all three of them are now stuck in the crowd, and Jason nods in agreement. "People are selfish that way." He mutters, almost as if trying to address the crowd at this phrase. There's a philosophy, that some people would always want to be first, even to the point of competing with others just to have their way.
From the corner of his eye he could see a path being formed; over to the right, population is slowly lessening, but Jason is sure that the more time passes, the more people will be there. He turns to his two companions and points to the said pathway with a gloved finger. "Over there. Come on, we have to hurry. Sooner or later more people are going to run in all directions and that path of escape will no longer exist." He speaks, in a rather alarmed tone.
Felix Mellobrook , @enigma ● I AM. LATE. VERY LATE. I'M SORRY. BUT WELCOME, AMANDA! ● 000
To have the sighted man return her smile, Amanda smiled easily back. She rolled her shoulders, eyes scanning the crowds. They had a sightless companion, but two pairs of eyes were still better than just one. And that proved true soon enough: the man soon spotted a free path.
"I'll help clear them out," she said confidently, stepping in front of both of them. She held her arms out, not being afraid to push and shuffle through the crowd.
"Clear out!" she yelled in a loud, strong voice, "This is police business. Let me through!" She was all confidence, refusing to stop or slow. Her determined act, the way she just exuded authority, had people listening to her. In addition to her general unease, it soon meant that people had completely cleared a small path for the three individuals to walk.
Sure enough, they came to the clear area that had been spotted earlier. Amanda took point, her eyes narrowed as she stood between the crowd and the two others.
"My name's Amanda, by the way," she added, turning her head slightly towards them. "Amanda Cauldwell. I was here with my partner... but obviously, we got separated in the crowd." She rolled her eyes. "Go figure. People are so panicky. The AP sucks. Nothing new about either of these things."
She tsked and gave an exaggerated sigh. Quietly, Enigma panicked. That may have been... not Amanda enough. Of course, Amanda would complain, but... she feared she had been using Enigma's words. Her negativity towards life that was not herself was a bad trait for one who had supposedly become a cop to help others. Sure, Enigma found most people... dull and idiotic, when she wasn't chasing their secrets, but Amanda did not. Amanda liked people.
So it was Enigma who took a deep breath, who forced the mask to reposition itself, who smiled comfortingly at Felix and Jason. And then she was back to being Amanda, fierce but not nearly as hateful as the skinwalker beneath.
"Are you both okay? I forgot to ask. I know crowds can get.. bad." Something haunted came to her eyes, the wisdom of an experienced cop. The traumatic experiences that Amanda found terrible. Enigma could pass them over easily; she mostly became irritated with the mess and the need for cleanup. But she was distant from most life, anyway. She was selfish - she would admit that easily - and bitter. Not overly cruel, no, but there were those who would call her evil. She did not think of herself as evil, but having others consider herself such did not bother her any. No, she knew she was a sort of lawful evil in the eyes of most people, and she did not deny what other people pinned her as.
But being lawful evil meant she could play a good character convincingly, and so she relied on that. No-one had yet to suspect that Amanda Cauldwell was anything but Amanda Cauldwell, a human detective, and Enigma wanted to keep it that way.
((I do apologize for the assumption, but I figured it was fairly safe to assume both Jason and Felix would follow Amanda.))
yet, my mind allows for independence and capability.

lindness did not mean helplessness, but it appeared Felix's day enjoyed proving otherwise as the sightless individual proceeded to be assisted by those gifted with marvellous eyesight. The splendours of being able to view the world, a thing which alluded the informant, making them jealous of their guides through the crowd. An expression of displeasure remained on Felix's face, sightless eyes "gazing" at the ground below while the world around them remained fuzzy from the lack of fixation on their electricity manipulation. Detailing the area around them through sensory felt impossible, especially considering the encroaching headache manifested from the consistent use of loudspeakers to drive away the onlooking crowd of citizens from the crime scene. The firm grip maintained on their arm assured there would be no attempts at wandering through the crowd on their own in honour of their extreme requirement for independence. Should Felix ever gain the opportunity to wish for anything, the sight would be the single thing they desired. While they would be forced to witness horrendous scenes, there would be beauty and an opportunity for the endlessly craved independence.
Unfortunately, managing to catch a Djinni would be futile, Felix's research already proving they could merely teleport objects instead of mending the broken nerves. The blind informant remained near the man as he and the officer discussed escaping the crowd, the intellect already accepting their uselessness. The fuzzy static readings would never allow the agendered individual to assist in guiding them through the crowds, especially considering their radius of sight was lowered immensely. Assistance had been forced upon them, and Felix was forced to listen like a sheep being guided by a pair of shepherds. A soft sigh escaped the informant's lips the longer they silently listened to the exchange of words, although, they opted to eavesdrop on the begrudging crowd who complained about leaving. It appeared they were more concerned about before driven away as opposed to the trio motionlessly stationed in the centre. There was a confidence in the woman's voice, easily detected by Felix who could merely rely on listening and the horrendous senses the static they transmitted provided. The authoritative voice provided by the RCMP officer resulted in people stepping aside, showing their submission to the officer.
The firm grip from the male stranger resulted in Felix waiting until the man moved to follow, the blind individual already guessing they would not be released easily on account of their previously demonstrated recklessness when attempting to maintain some shred of independence; instead, they humiliated themself. As they proceeded through the crowd as expected, the purple-haired nonbinary managed to hear the female officer's name, Amanda, although did not answer in return. After displaying a brash act of stupidity, Felix remained entirely silent, refusing to offer opinions or answers on account of embarrassment. Their cane softly tapped against the ground, the sound blurred from thunderous noise of loudspeakers and crowd goers. They were led by Amanda, the daunting authority of an RCMP officer allowing for there to be a little burden when it arrived in transversing the crowd smoothly. The question towards their well-being was ignored by Felix, the blind informant merely moving as instructed, pride wounded by incapability and voice silenced by humility. They craved the comfort of independence, yet, there were a plethora of things Felix's downgraded "sight" could not accomplish, such as reading words scrawled across a page of text.
A soft sigh escaped Felix's lips, the blind individual still refusing to glance towards the faces of their guides. Damaged pride could be difficult to recover from, especially considering the gifted individual's electric manipulation accompanied by their enhanced memory allowed for them to recognize every turn and bend, yet, they failed to navigate a crowd on account of noise-induced migraines. Thus, they remained silent, allowing the guides to move them as needed.
darkness always surrounds me. but i manage to survive.

His grip on his blind acquaintance is still as firm as it had been before, not willing to let go of him should he ever foolishly think of walking alone by himself in a place crowded with panicking people. He looks at the young woman in front of them and watches her as she screams at the crowd. Her obvious figure of authority makes everyone else listen, and soon enough a path is cleared for them to cross. Jason wishes he could be like that today, but he's on a break, as his boss insisted.
She introduces herself, and he smiles back, the name in his mind; Amanda Cauldwell... really one of the most notable names for a police officer. Much like his own name, Jason Flanagan, but much formal, much... authoritative. He nods in response and does a small bow. "Very nice to be your acquaintance, Ms. Cauldwell." He states, then smiles and points to himself. "My name is Jason Flanagan, an agent of the TRS. Although sadly I was forced to quit working today, apparently since I've been overworking myself..." He chuckles nervously and cocks his head to the side, then sighs. "Though I may have just stumbled upon a dire situation, something I simply can't ignore as one of the TRS."
Amanda describes the crowd's condition and he nods as a reply. "It's difficult to disagree with you on that one." He shakes his head, rather disappointed. As he does this, he softly tugs on the blind individual's sleeve and follows Amanda towards the path. For one, Jason is never a fan of crowds. Not only does it remind him of his anxiety to see his older brother in the crowd again, but also because of the noise and the chaos within it. It's never a peaceful feeling, even on the job.
She asks if they are okay and he nods in confirmation. "I am fine, totally. You should be asking that at them, though," He points to his blind companion and turns to him with worry on his face. "You've been quiet lately... are you okay? Do you need rest?" He asks gently, focus entirely on them and no one else for the matter. The last thing he needs is him fainting out of panic and Jason doesn't want that to happen at all.
For a moment he sees something in Amanda's eyes as well, but he blinks and dismisses that as simply a hallucination. "How about you, Amanda? Are you doing fine?" If anything, he did not want all three of them fainting in front of the crowd, or attract negative events. But the concern is unavoidable.
Felix Mellobrook , @enigma ● LATE RESPONSE AGAIN! I AM SO SORRY! ● 000
ilence befell Felix as they proceeded through the crowd, the blind informant refusing to speak on account of their damaged pride. Strives towards the elusive independence had been taken, but ultimately, failure followed behind their reckless actions to walk amidst a crowd while loudspeakers blared and frightened people scurried away with no predictability to their wild movements. An arm remained roped around their's, the cane softly tapping nearby in search of changes in elevation. While the pair conversed, the purple-haired individual merely followed.
Each step was a reminder they failed in becoming independent, the assistance of others being oddly demeaning for the young individual as they followed. Envy flowed through Felix's mind as they jealously listened to them conversing, remembering they would never view the world, while these fortunate few could open their eyes and see it every single day. The soft sounds of anxious crowd members filled Felix's ears, the blind informant raising a brow as they listened to the words being exchanged. Suddenly, the blind individual's step slowed as their eyes widened at the conversation occurring between the citizens around them.
Somebody mentioned a shady individual retreating from the scene, somebody dressed in black, tall with a thin, beard on the bottom section of his chin. The person they mentioned was spindly with long, skinny limbs which resulted in Felix's steps slowing to a stop, the blind informant waiting for more information. The introductions were detected earlier, the purple-haired individual ceasing movement as the question was asked, however, Felix delayed their answer to listen. Carefully, the blind informant tugged slightly to remain close to the description being verbally announced.
Considering the situation, there was a high chance the information was potentially related to an Assembly soldier, Felix turning their head to Jason, the man who claimed to be associated with the TRS.
"I'm plenty fine," they mumbled, inching away a bit more to perform their job.
They tugged away, attempting to proceed in their occupation, eavesdropping on conversations to research potential information which could become crucial to the Terror Response Syndicate. Suddenly, there was a thunderous noise which boomed over the crowd, Felix ceasing movement to cover their ears as their head pounded in protest. Police was commanding people to proceed in leaving in an organized fashion, however, there were hints of panic in their voice. People screamed as they hurried forward, somebody mentioning a terror as they hurried past.
The blind informant was bumped into as they surged forward, people forcing them to bump into Jason, the person originally guiding them. Concern settled on Felix's face, the blind individual never trained to assist in combat on account of their blindness and parent's overprotectiveness.
