Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. season
Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Back straight and posture displaying confidence, Kaitlynn strode ahead of the group, their intense professionalism being evident; it was a common trait of unit two. Lieutenant Sonya drilled the members hard and expectations ran high, the unit itself acting with military-like prestige. Failure was a rarity on account of the merciless training regiments they were expected to endure, thus the angel possessed high expectations of the hunters who followed her; there was no room for cowardice. There was a limited amount of chatter between the groups, the hunters knowing thoroughly that Kaitlynn was less strict than Lieutenant Sonya. Gradually, the formation broke slightly, comfort being provided because of the lack of punishment. Voices remained hush, allowing the soft hum of the radio to be heard; there was always a chance of an emergency occurring.
There was a pause as a smile curved onto the angel's lips as her thoughts returned to the dark uniform with yellow accents. Perhaps somebody was training an apprentice who joined a separate unit or Sonya had forgotten to inform her of the fresh blood entering the unit. The exotic woman hand-picked potential hunters since she desired to maintain unit two's strength.
"You can all talk until we get there. We're going to be entering through the street on the left side unless scouts in the area tell us otherwise," Kaitlynn stated, her authority reigning over the group. "We will comb through our assigned section from there."
Briefly, the woman glanced over her shoulder, purple eyes searching for the apprentice who joined them. The formation was loosely maintained, hunters refusing to stray far as they discussed daily gossip or what could potentially occur on their mission. There were a few discussing details about Assembly members possibly being in the outskirts, which was an excellent evaluation. The outskirts were the easiest place for Zeredah's supporters to hide and avoid TRS interaction. As everybody walked down the planned route, Kaitlynn attempted to traverse the group in hopes of ending up beside the young apprentice which caught her curious eye. There were several inquiries flitting through the brunette's mind, most specifically who the individual's mentor and the unit they were apart of; hopefully, Sonya did not fail to inform her of this recent arrival. Currently, the sergeant believes the young man wearing an apprentice's uniform was supposed to be joining their unit on today's mission; nobody else appeared bothered by his presence after all.
During the early hours of a pleasant spring morning, Kaitlynn rouse from the depths of her slumber. Briefly, the angel snuggled into the depths of the comfortable fabric and drowsily glanced around, her eyes failing to fixate on anything. Beneath the covers, she rolled her shoulders, stretching the muscles to coax her exhausted body to rise from the comfort of the covers. Bleary eyes flitted around the room, blinks becoming prominent as she slowly adjusted herself into a sitting position. Carefully, her hand slipped under her search, scratching her mid-back while her other reached for the skies. There was a deep inhale of breath, the brunette's mouth opening broadly to release a loud yawn. The dark-skinned woman paused momentarily, her arms returning to her sides to carefully slide the blanket off of her before she left the bed.
Once she stood on the carpeted floor, her hand reached for the phone on her bedside table. A soft sigh escaped her mouth when the screen lit, revealing the time; she needed to get ready right this instant. Without hesitation, she stood from the bed she shared with unit two's lieutenant and wandered into the bathroom. Hastily, she groomed herself, narrowly managing a few spare minutes to place on a subtle coat a makeup; she skipped several routines, work always ruined it anyways. Simplicity became key, Kaitlynn mostly assuring her signature purple lipstick coated her lips. A brush quickly ran through her brunette locks tipped with hints of purple. Afterwards, she returned to the bedroom, opening the drawers to grab a fresh TRS uniform which lacked any alterations. There were no moments spent to merely doddle, the sergeant changing from the tank top and shorts she wore to bed in favour of the dark colours and bright accents of her TRS uniform.
Pants were tugged over her legs, a dark long-sleeved shirt covering her torso and finally the jacket which was tugged over her shoulders. The red accents displayed her high-ranking position, the colours popping against the slate of black and dark navy. On one side of her chest was a single, bright red star which shimmered in the light, allowing all to become privy to her status of sergeant. A pair of gauntlets were grabbed from the drawer, specially made for weaponizing Kaitlynn's electric magic in a more controlled manner. The storage system placed into the rather clunky gauntlets was designed for holding massive amounts of electricity which the angel could later use in combat as necessary. She hurried out the door, tying on her combat boots in double-knots before heading out the door. As usual, Sergeant Kaitlynn Harris walked to the TRS headquarters, thus the necessity to assure there was time to commute to work was great.
A single radio was secured to her hip while the woman jogged towards headquarters. Oftentimes, these trips to work were implemented into a regular exercising routine to avoid her body getting out of shape. The spring weather was only mildly enjoyed, the brunette avoiding a leisurely walk to assure she would arrive punctually. Upon arrival, the sergeant placed herself into her regular position of command and organized patrol groups before placing herself into her own. A smile touched her lips once the leadership tasks were completed and she was permitted to join her own patrol group for the morning. These would be the single enjoyable thing she would accomplish before paperwork. Silently, she waited on the ground floor, smiling once the group of hunters arrived who would join her on the lengthy patrol around the city.
As they approached, the hunters of unit two stood tall, each remembering the frightful amount of anger Lieutenant Sonya would display should they fail. Wordlessly, distance was closed, all exiting the building as the sergeant followed, eyes examining and finally noticing accents of yellow. A single brow raised as they exited the headquarters, the angel wondering who decided their apprentice would tag along, however, she never questioned it; these were excellent learning experiences.
"Listen up, we'll be heading out to the outskirts, the Northern portion of it. So everybody, watch your backs, those rumours about terrors lurking out there aren't lies," the angel explained authority. "We'll be carefully combing through the area to make sure there are no threats, understand?"
The woman's voice carried over the group, the experienced hunters automatically saluting and stating Yes, ma'am in response to their sergeant's orders. Professionalism was always well-received by the brunette, especially considering there were times where the outskirts could be extremely dangerous, she just prayed whoever brought their apprentice assured he would be prepared.
[ Just a random Chibi popping into your thread! I hope you don't mind me making the group of hunters unit 2 and under Kaitlynn's rule. I figured it would be more interesting since it will give her motive to investigate William in a way. ]
Concerns over unit two’s future came naturally to Kaitlynn, especially considering joining the TRS was among her best choices. Never would she thought during her childhood she could be strictly trained into an incredible fighter. Those years of being forced into dresses and lectured on etiquette were a far cry from strapping on gauntlets and controlling the reckless nature of electricity. Evidently, her previous life contrasted against her current, the brunette already capable of imagining the gawking expressions of her disappointed parents should they find her. Acceptance would be nonexistent, any open-mindedness being clouded by their beliefs of the old traditions where women should merely be housewives. Comfort was discovered when she learned entered combat training and later enlisted in the TRS ranks; belonging is what she discovered. Thus, the angel always fretted for the well-being of the unit which could accept her reckless behaviour.
Carefully, the cold glass cup was raised to her lips, the sergeant taking a drink of her rum and coke as she listened to Sonya's reasoning. A gentle sigh proceeded, Kaitlynn knowing thoroughly trust was necessary for their survival under the tense circumstances of a terror attack, especially during hordes. Everything became chaotic from the massive influx of terrors, the requirement to eradicate the dangerous creatures outweighing the need to stick together. Reliance on your fellow hunters alongside some quick thinking was truly the only way to escape the clutches of death in those frightening moments. Hunters needed to smoothly work in tandem, defending and fighting off the threats. A soft sigh escaped her lips as her glasses clinked quietly against the counter. Constantly, the angel would fret about the condition of the unit which provided her endless enjoyment and opportunities to be who she desired.
“I know… I wish we could beat some sense into them sometimes. Especially the ones who get scared and only get in the way,” Kaitlynn responded quietly. “At least the ones we do get aren’t bad.”
Gently, Kaitlynn’s hand maintained a grip on the glass which held the precious intoxicating liquid. The more she swallowed, the quicker the brunette would be placed into a state of haze. Thoughts of potentially reaching intoxication quicker were pleasant, thus the sergeant lifted her glass, quickly draining the contents before waving at the bartender for a refill. Momentarily, Kaitlynn pushed the glass closer to the bartender, the man quickly pouring a shot in.
“Make it a double,” Kaitlynn stated, which resulted in a pause before the second shot of rum was poured in.
Afterwards arrived the fizzle of coke, the dark soda being poured in until the glass was filled, then the beverage was returned. Once returned, Kaitlynn took a sip from the fresh glass, small and quickly down her throat. Promptly, Sonya started the discussion about work was finished, the exotic woman deciding to focus on their new adventure. A broad smile touched Kaitlynn’s lips as she spared a glance at her lover. There was a red hue on her cheeks, but it went unnoticed by the angel as her thoughts slowly started getting clouded by alcohol. The size of the brunette's grin increased when the exotic girl mentioned being handsy with her, a soft giggle leaving her mouth. Another sip of her alcoholic beverage was taken before the glass was settled onto the counter.
"I think I'm going to like that very much," Kaitlynn responded in a soft, flirtatious voice. "Plus, I get to return the favour whenever, right honey?"
Laughter escaped Kaitlynn's mouth when Sonya gleefully rejoiced over having somebody to cook meals opposed to relying on herself. The laughter was prolonged for the angel as intoxication infected her mind, making her mind dulled and freeing her from the serious weight of life. These were the few moments the brunette could become fully careless and relax completely without the fretting thoughts of what will occur in the TRS.
Discovering comfort amidst the pleasant scenes of the Golden Crown was easily accomplished by Kaitlynn as she remained settled on the stool, joining her beloved familiar for shots. A clink rang through the angel's ears as her shot glass hit the counter, preparing for another shot of the clear alcohol. The liquid was poured into the small cup, the brunette grinning giddily as she gained excitement over the intoxicating effects. These moments would allow an instant of forgetting the pressure of being a high ranking officer in the TRS. Once her cup was filled, Kaitlynn leaned her head back, bringing the cool glass to her plush lips to swallow the contents in a single gulp. Similarly to the first shot, the angel spent little time admiring the taste of vodka due to her knowledge of Sonya's hatred of alcohol.
The second sip of her favoured alcoholic beverage was taken, Kaitlynn desiring to cleanse her mouth of the vodka, although, it was primarily for her girlfriend's sake. The subtle clinking of ice inside her cup managed to reach her ears through the noise, the angel staring down at the floating cubes as she listened to her lieutenant. A nod of acknowledgement was provided, the sergeant feeling similar about the boredom-inducing ceremonies despite her enjoyment of learning the new members of the TRS.
"Honestly, if they had a better speaker, I couldn't care less about the kids. They will learn this job isn't all sunshine and rainbows," Kaitlynn mumbled. "Heroes don't survive every fight and they 'ought to learn practice is what really makes a TRS agent survive."
There was a pause when Sonya mentioned not picking any of the former apprentices from the new haul alongside the comments of them merely getting weaker. Finally, a soft sigh escaped the angel's lips as she brought her drink to her lips for another sip. While strength was important, newer TRS members would never improve unless given a chance of training with the strong hunters of unit two. They could not keep their gates locked forever, or else unit two would deteriorate and become a mere skeleton army rather than a forceful unit.
"I don't think we should keep denying access to unit 2... I'm starting to think we should consider having a boot camp for even the apprentices who show more potential... If we can make 'em a strong member of the unit, then we have a lot to gain from it," Kaitlynn advised before providing a broad smile. "Besides, gives me an excuse to get some roughhousing done. Imagine their faces when an angel kicks their ass!
Despite the lack of substance in Kaitlynn's stomach, she managed to stay composed. The angel was a reserved drinker, slowly sipping away at her current toxic beverage, although, there was a fogginess breaching her thoughts. Her composure was bound to break as the evening proceeded.
Drinks after a rigorous battle against the Assembly of Phantoms felt like a tradition to Sonya and Kaitlynn, the angel smiling broadly at the prospect. There was always something relaxing about spending extensive periods of time at the bar, enjoying a few rounds of alcohol before hailing a cab and crashing in bed. Those instances was when everything felt alright, the horrible happenings worldwide being forgotten briefly for some reckless fun. Other hunters cleared from the area, the brunette patiently waiting beside her girlfriend while everybody else vacated the premises, heading for the warm comfort of their homes. There were a few farewells before everybody cleared from city hall, prepared to return to their personal lives. Finally, the last members of unit 2 vacated the area, leaving herself and Sonya alone in front of the damaged area.
There was a brief wait after a taxi was dialed and requested, the vehicle eventually driving up to the curb's edge to pick up the pair of women. Under most circumstances, Kaitlynn would walk with Sonya to the coastal area, however, with her beloved injured, a drive became preferred. Once the taxi parked, the pair smoothly answered, the exotic woman providing the driver with directions before they settled in the back seat. A soft laugh escaped the angel's lips at the familiar's remark, a smile settling onto her face.
"I guess you could say that. The speaker this year had such a boring voice. I swear I saw a few people sleeping in that crowd," Kaitlynn stated, smirking.
Escaping the boring hum of the graduation ceremony felt rewarding, especially considering the slow progression of handing out student diplomas and congratulations; there was hope the following year would prove to be better. The fifteen-minute drive brought them to the front door of the Golden Crown, a beautiful and well-known bar in Lorsette. There was a smile on the brunette's face as she exited the taxi, listening to the wheels turn against the street as they approached the front door. Quietly, the angel followed, listening to the loud bang of Sonya kicking the front doors open; it was a miracle she did not break it some days. There was the customary yelling of the bartender's name, the exotic woman automatically making their requests while the pair walked towards their favoured seats.
Once comfortable in her seat, Kaitlynn patiently waited for the drinks, the bartender knowing their faces and quickly providing Sonya's requests alongside the angel's usual; a rum and coke. The pure shot of vodka brought a smile to the brunette's face as she smiled widely at the exotic woman's toast.
"Hell yeah!" Kaitlynn shouted before clinking the shot glasses together.
Afterwards, the vodka was drank in a single large gulp, entering the angel's mouth only for a brief moment before being swallowed. The taste never bothered her, however, Kaitlynn wished to avoid disturbing her precious girlfriend with the taste she disliked. Once the shot was finished, the sergeant sipped on her own drink, a small smile remaining on her face.
There was little need to rush moving in Kaitlynn’s mind considering the angel would be gifted with immortality which would affect Sonya because of their contract. Magic would result in their binding together forever, Kaitlynn believing if the exotic woman desired a break in their contract, she would have already accomplished it. They were always a team, thus a contract manifesting between them sounded expected. The brunette’s purple eyes glanced towards Sonya, noticing the hints of disapproval in her eyes. Witnessing the emotion was sorrowful, however, Kaitlynn would require time to pack her belongings in boxes. Furthermore, Sonya’s injuries made her hesitant in hurrying the process; she wanted to avoid stressing her lover. Time together would only be endless if they did not lose precious seconds to the hospital for wounds or trapped in the depths of a grave.
Since the beginning of her love for Sonya, Kaitlynn found herself perpetually worrying about the lieutenant, both mentally and physically. Thus, she refused to risk manifesting stress or moving items while the exotic woman was in her wounded state; knowing Sonya, she would attempt to assist despite her horrendous injuries. The statement towards the familiar's ruined jacket resulted in a quiet laugh escaping Kaitlynn's lips. There were times the angel felt new uniforms were handed out weekly because of damage being done on the field; new clothing was an inevitability.
"That seems to happen a lot, dear," Kaitlynn commented, a slight teasing nature to her tone.
Gradually, the families were being led from city hall, carefully surrounded by TRS escorts to avoid injury. There were some individuals who still appeared rattled, remaining close to their family members with a slight tremble to their steps. The dangerous reality of this war was something everybody would have to face, no matter their age. For a few moments, the angel's eyes remained locked on the citizen's escort from the scene before returning to Sonya. The mere mention of alcohol resulted in Kaitlynn providing a nod in response; she could use a drink to unwind after this high-stress situation. There was a sharp clank of metal against stone, resulting in the sergeant's attention remaining completely on Sonya as she provided the appraisals to the hardworking members of the unit. They deserved it for their efforts, and Kaitlynn stood tall and stiff as she listened, remaining in a professional stance beside Sonya.
Finally, as the remaining members left for the evening, the beautiful, exotic woman approached her, leaning on her slightly. A broad grin crawled onto Kaitlynn's face at the notion of drinking and something to eat. Extensive use of her electricity manipulation always left pangs of hunger in the angel's stomach; she found it difficult to lose her appetite after a fight.
"Yes, let's," she agreed cheerfully. "The Golden Crown like always, or should we see if there is something closer?"
Anywhere would be adequate for food consumption and indulgence in alcoholic beverages; as long as the establishment was not absolutely filthy. There was a mild ache of hunger in Kaitlynn's belly, her body already demanding food after using her electricity manipulation for the near entirety of her fighting; especially against the brute which she fried.
There were no doubts about Sonya's strength in Kaitlynn's mind, especially considering the woman's impressive physical traits despite any magical abilities based around them. Meanwhile, the angel knew her strengths were built around her capabilities in controlling electricity, the manipulation proving to be a skill she remained adept in. Managing to take a variety of hits or achieve a more physical accomplishment was nearly impossible given her species weaknesses. While not all angels were necessarily dainty, they were not built to take a multitude of hard hits, like her girlfriend had taken when the brute smacked into her. Thus, she despised the notion of Sonya not being strong enough to remain their lieutenant; she proved otherwise every passing day in the brunette's opinion. The exotic woman made it evident she was a force to be reckoned with, from the manner her unit function to her frightful attitude.
Then there was naturally the fighting expertise which initially caught the roughhousing angel's attention. As she pulled Sonya closer, Kaitlynn's brilliant purple eyes fixated on hers. There was hope the clouds in the exotic woman's mind would part to allow for the truth to reign, especially considering the angel believed she deserved every compliment which left her lips. There was the gentle feeling of Sonya's fingers brushing her purple-tipped hair behind her ear, the mere action resulting in a minor heart skip. The teasing caused a brief laugh to escape Kaitlynn's mouth, a grin touching her lips. Finally, she was brought close, feeling the body heat between their intimate closeness as their lips met as though it was mere nature. The softness, passion from the moment drove the angel's heart wild with joy as no thoughts were taken towards potential observers.
There were a few quiet moments, Kaitlynn ignoring any remarks from observers until finally they parted. A broad grin graced Kaitlynn's lips, the slightest hint of pink touching her cheeks. They would be the couple to find an instance to kiss in a location which had been a battlefield a few minutes prior. When the question was asked and Sonya returned to sitting on the steps, the angel followed, sitting down beside her. There was a moment to stretch, the brunette allowed her legs to lay straight across the stairs below, her skin touching the cold tips of the stairs to occasionally breach through her uniform; the cold was chased away by the temperature regulation charm. Another soft laugh left her lips when Sonya spoke about her apartment, informing her of the expected bed sharing and consistent handling of the fiery woman; the angel's laughs ended prematurely when she noticed her partner hold her side.
"I'm pretty sure if I didn't want to see your face every day, I would have said no," Kaitlynn stated before affectionately leaning in to kiss Sonya's cheek. "Honestly, we could look into a small house if we want more space, buuuut, I have been in your apartment enough times to be used to it."
Eventually, Kaitlynn brought her legs up to station her feet on the stair below, arms lazily resting on her upper leg. A momentary glance was provided to the scene, watching as gradually more people were on their feet and casualties were counted; damages appeared rather light. After a few moments, her purple eyes returned to her wounded lover, a small frown crossing her face.
"Maybe we should wait until you are better though. I could move all my stuff myself, but at least if we wait you're all better to enjoy my company," she stated with a smirk. "We could talk about it some more once we get out of here. They're finishing up the ceremony inside, or, the award handed out I suppose. I don't imagine they will take that long."
The angel could guess the "ceremonies" were almost completed, the speeches bound to be reserved for a later date should they truly desire to listen to the monotonous voice proceed. Once the hunters were organized and escorts were created to guide everybody safely to their homes, the angel assumed they would be free to leave; at least she imagined her lover could depart to rest.
There was a worry expression evident on Kaitlynn's face as the distance between herself and Sonya was closed. Ahead, scouts picked the battlefield, finding the living to drag them inside for treatment or to become a chosen magic-based healing over to save their lives. Evidence if struggle littered the area, from blood to the damaged bodies of the unfortunate souls who perished. Hunters filed in, the hardened maintaining a facade of no concern as they returned to their positions. Some attempted to avoid breaking down, the sorrow from fallen comrades or friends obvious on their crestfallen expressions. Rubble was scattered throughout the field, scouts carefully stepping over to assist in locating those who remained alive, albeit, injured. The angel took a few tentative steps forward, although, remained near Sonya as her purple eyes scanned the field.
Once the sergeant felt the familiar shake her hand off, she raised a brow at the peculiar action her girlfriend did. Had she angered the exotic woman by forcing her to sit down and heal? The aggravation of her lover refusing medical treatment resulted in Kaitlynn's actions, especially considering she refused to lose her beloved Sonya. When the familiar proceeded to speak, the angel froze, her eyes lifting to stare directly at her lieutenant. The words she stated infuriated Kaitlynn considering Sonya's strict nature was the reason the hunters of unit 2 grew strong enough to survive these obstacles. While the angel possessed the skill to converse with families and calm a panicked crowd, Sonya held the fiery attitude which could make cowards continue to fight against the odds. When Sonya finished, the brunette's hands settled on her hips for a few moments, her expression making it evident she disliked the manner which the exotic woman depreciated herself.
"If you think like that, I would have to resign too," Kaitlynn began before her body language shifted to more relaxed. "Listen, my dear, you're nowhere near being called a disgrace because you're the reason our unit can be a strong force to be reckoned with! Everybody here, you've trained until they started bleeding and told them to keep pushing afterwards! As for weak, not even close! You came out here and fought off those terrors and kept going through some shattered bones! I should never do that since I don't have near the endurance or durability to handle it."
The beginning the simple as the brunette closed the distance in hopes of softly wrapping her arms around her precious Sonya who appeared to be having a bad evening now. There was a single objective in Kaitlynn's mind, which was to lift the exotic woman out of this stupor.
"You've got the guts for this, lieutenant. That bravery and fire is what keeps us all going because you're willing to be out there and fight despite what your powers say. At the end of the day, who gives a fuck about how powers and whatnot if they can hold their own! You do it every single battle. Besides, if you hadn't stepped in, I could have been clawed by those vicious cats. If you did not command people into their positions, those terrors could have gotten in and killed all those citizens," the angel stated.
While Kaitlynn believed she had the situation handled with the mutants, the procedure of defeating the trio would remain difficult. In that instant, everything depended on the unpredictable moves of her opponents and whether they were wary or willing to viciously attack without forethought. The familiar had saved her, and managed to allow many people to survive despite her powers not necessarily catering to fighting; Sonya was brave and definitely a force to not be taken lightly.
Reckless could become a recipe for death on most occasions, resulting in Kaitlynn fuming from her girlfriend’s persistent need to push forward. She loved Sonya immensely, thus she fretted over losing the beloved snake familiar to the Assembly of Phantoms’ forces. There was always a chance death could occur on the battlefield with the enemy not often inclined to give mercy. While people could be granted a second chance after death, the angel did not desire to think about what could happen afterwards. Those speculations about the hellscapes where people were trapped after dying a second time were perturbing thoughts, especially after being frightened of losing her precious Sonya. Despite the concerned thoughts orbiting her mind, Kaitlynn proceeded forward, her head up high with long strides carrying her towards the hunters inside. There was sheer confidence evident on her face, the angel hiding her fears for Sonya's recklessness.
A leader needed to be levelheaded even when lost amidst the endless torrent of uneasy thoughts; her hunters needed somebody to provide the commands. As a sergeant, she was expected to lead unit two during times when Lieutenant Sonya was absent or unable to do her part. The radio was whisked from her pocket and brought to her purple coloured lips, merely a few centimetres away from the lipstick-covered surface.
“Do your best to dispose of any fleeing terrors. If they get back to wherever they hide them, Zeredah may use them again,” she began, providing the hunters in the field to do their work. “I want half the magic users to stay here. Some of you scouts, if you can help bring the injured in that would be fantastic.”
There was an authoritative tone to her voice as the angel spoke, proceeding to smoothly accomplish the tasks of her position. She was the sergeant and was expected to assume lead should it be required. There were still people huddled together, particularly parents and other citizens awaiting the continuation of the award ceremony; even if it deteriorated into a meagre handing. The recently graduated hunters stood bravely around them, taking pride in their opportunity to display their bravery. The medics kept working as scouts began assisting the injured inside, creating a steady flow. Meanwhile, Kaitlynn observed as she strode towards a pair elites she could enlist the assistance of. The approach of their sergeant proper for them to straighten before giving a grips salute. They stood tall, waiting for the angel to approach and provide them with commands.
On their faces were courageous expressions, each aware of the city plight they were summoned to act on. Temporarily, Sonya could not return to the battlefield, which meant Kaitlynn required assistance to keep everything organized.
“They can keep handing out rewards now, but keep your eyes out. Especially for a certain type of creature which could be around still with the flood of injured. Let everyone posted at the doors know, you can leave two at each to stand watch. I will let you know if we need to lockdown again,” the sergeant explained. "Ask those who are guarding and assisting the medics to stay if they can."
The small group of elites nodded before splitting themselves into the various tasks. They efficient, their experience allowing each to handle problems with smooth ease. There was a pause as Kaitlynn glanced over the people, now being organized to hand out the remaining awards and diplomas. Once everything would be handed out, the sergeant wished to escort everybody to their homes before the Assembly of Phantoms could rally their forces for another attack. She paused to overwatch the occurrences, the speakers dropping their long-winded speeches and opting for quick handouts punctuated with thank-yous. The angel walked away, allowing the elites to handle the oversight of the process; she could trust their capable hands. The brunette wandered down the hallways, going to the back exit to check on the pair of guards.
"Anything come this way?" She inquired after she approached.
The pair were standing straight as they glanced towards Kaitlynn before shaking their heads. They provided a brief synapsis of what occurred near the back entrance, stating there was hardly any terror activity with the acception of some which strayed from the primary attack. The angel nodded, softly touching her chin with her gauntleted hand in thought before allowing a small grin to touch her lips.
"Try to keep it that way, if anything changes, let me know. Once everything inside is finished, we can file the citizens out through the back and work towards getting them home. It would be safer," Kaitlynn explained before turning away to head inside.
The front stairs were broken because of Sonya being slammed into them by a brute, thus the back exit appeared to be the safer area for everybody to file out from. The brunette returned to the main room, her purple eyes surveying the area to notice everything functioning smoothly. A majority of the graduating students assisting the medics were allowed to return to the crowd as more injured were treated for their wounds. The elite hunters watched carefully while some patrolled the small room, making certain disguisers did not lurk amidst the crowd. Finally, the angel's eyes fixated on where the injured were located, discovering the exotic woman's absence. A frown touched her lips as she walked through, softly grabbing somebody's elbow to inquire about Sonya, which they pointed to the front exit.
With a small nod, Kaitlynn walked down the short hallway, exiting through the doors where she saw some hunters reporting back and her beloved Sonya. There was a gentle sigh which escaped her lips as she carefully walked closer, slowly moving around the damaged area in the stairs and avoiding rubble.
"You okay?" The angel asked as she drew closer.
After a few moments, Kaitlynn's hand reached out to touch Sonya's shoulder. There was concern evident on the angel's expression as she glanced towards her girlfriend. While she was still displeased with the exotic woman's reckless nature, her concern from the deep affection she held conquered feelings of anger towards her attitude.
There were moments where Kaitlynn despised Sonya's reckless attitude, particularly when it endangered the familiar's life. The exotic woman was her girlfriend recently, and the brunette refused to have her fall victim to the vicious terrors who plagued their world. She abandoned a majority of her family, her one older brother remaining by her side, thus Kaitlynn did not desire her girlfriend leaving in a permanent sense. Allowing such an atrocity to occur would be a sin in the angel's world, thus she grew determined to drag her beloved Sonya to where the medics were. Should the familiar continue to resist, the brunette would be entirely content with radioing the medics to tranquilize her precious Sonya. From a mere glance, Kaitlynn could easily notice the lieutenant needed plenty of healing after her vicious brawl against the terrors.
The angel's purple eyes analyzed the variety of wounds her lover possessed, finding herself displeased with the cuts, but most particularly the condition of Sonya's shattered arm. Shattered bones were an unpleasant and possibly life-altering wound, thus Kaitlynn could not allow her girlfriend to continue her recklessness. She reached out, successfully grabbing Sonya's collar, and started dragging her towards city hall. There were no responses given to the familiar's insistence about desiring a fight considering the angel merely wanted her beloved Sonya to be healed. Hesitation was lacking as the brunette proceeded to pull Sonya along, but provided no commentary in regards to the exotic woman's statements; she was displeased with the reckless manner her lieutenant and lover endangered herself. Terrors proceeded to flee or be defeated around them, the remainder of unit two evidently having the situation handled. As the sergeant walked, there was firm confidence to her stance, each step being measured as she carried herself closer to city hall.
There was the slightest hint of anger flared in her beautiful violet eyes which caused a majority to skirt away from her path; Kaitlynn rarely got infuriated. A limited amount of actions could result in burning a fire in the angel, but a definite one was the reckless endangerment of her loved ones. The brunette was over-protective when it arrived at those she cared about, resulting in her necessity to immediately get Sonya to a medic. Her pace slowed once she reached the stairs, the angel cautiously stepping around the damages caused by the familiar's harsh landing to head through the large doors. Once inside, she directly walked towards the medical area, providing the hunters left inside information on the finished battle. Cautiously, she set Sonya down near the medics before placing her hands on her hips.
"Can you please heal our lieutenant? Tranq her if you must," Kaitlynn stated before turning a heel to handle the remainder of the situation.
First, she spoke with her fellow hunters, filling them in on the situation and stating the ceremony could finally proceed unless they desired to merely hand out diplomas and allow the frightened citizens to head home. Her hunters worked accordingly to the sergeant's commands, the brunette's radio call promptly going out to allow scouts to survey the area and for the hunters to come inside for assessments in physical health. Unit two was a powerhouse, but unfortunately, the members could be reckless.
Adrenaline flowed thick through Kaitlynn’s veins after killing the brute, a broad grin stretching across her lips; victorious against a terror! There were still plenty of terrors to destroy, but the angel was confident and determined to make the Assembly suffer for hurting her beloved Sonya alongside her fellow hunters. Allowing them to harm their precious unit to the extreme could not be warranted, thus the angel kept herself prepares and primed for fighting. Electricity proceeded to be captured in her specially designed gloves, charging her for the following battles. There were still terrors to handle and the brunette was prepared to fend them off through the force of her skill. The hunters fixated on defeating the brute dispersed, already working towards handling the remaining terrors who refused to flee. There was no time to spare on glancing towards Sonya as the angel promptly entered the fray, using her magic to defend herself from the terrors. There was a trio of them, but the confident sergeant stood tall, prepared to launch into combat. A brief moment was spent sizing up the low-class mutants which circled her, a soft whistle leaving her pursed lips as she observed their formation. These creatures were akin to giant cats, their tails long while their claws were razor sharp.
Their faces were altered, additions being rows of metallic teeth. Patches of fur were missing, instead replaced with sections of plated metal for armour. Her wings remained tight against her back, soon disappearing to avoid becoming a burden in the close combat situation. There were subtle movements, slight twitches of the mechanics and muscles until the one to her right leaped, giant claws aimed to kill. Hastily, Kaitlynn lifted her hand to create a brilliant white shield with a subtle glow, her manipulation defending her successfully as she heard a loud thunk. Immediately after the failed attempt, another leaped towards her, which was answered was answered with a harsh blow of electricity which surged from Kaitlynn’s gauntlets. It fell to the ground, managing back onto its paws, but promptly ran away. There was only a pair remaining, the one behind the shield recovering while another lept towards her. The mutant’s mighty legs launched it forward, but before Kaitlynn could proceed to defend herself and handle the situation accordingly, a blur rushed forward to intercept the creature. A sword thrust into the mutant’s head, forcing it to veer off course from the frightful strength of the wielder. A grimace graced Kaitlynn’s face as she noticed Sonya, severely injured, but too stubborn to cease her fighting. Without choice, Kaitlynn removed the light shield, dodging the giant claws before stabbing the tips of her gauntlets in to give a severe, electrical shock.
The creature promptly fell after the shock, turning to ash beneath her. Afterwards, the angel turned to her beloved familiar, eyes narrowed down into a glare.
“Love, you better go back and get healed, or I will delay moving in with you,” Kaitlynn stated.
With the terrors fleeing, the angel decided to reach for Sonya’s collar to gently drag her back towards the city hall. While Kaitlynn desired to move in with her girlfriend, she needed punishment for being reckless in the first place. She loved Sonya dearly and witnessing her with those types of injuries hurt the angel’s heart.
These were the moments where Kaitlynn’s adrenaline kicked in as her authority shone at the moment. Nobody would conquer unit two on this day and the sergeant was determined to defend everybody to the best of her ability. A smirk graced the angel’s lips once everybody was properly organized inside the hall, any stragglers or runaways captured and led back to the main group by her small dispatch of hunters. They likely desired to assist in defending city hall, but without proper TRS uniforms, Kaitlynn remained hesitant to grant them freedom unless they managed to get overran. Otherwise, their presence on the field would be more of a burden considering most were meagre fledglings compared to the strictly trained hunters of unit two. While they passed their courses, there remained plenty to learn in terms of hunting and handling stressful situations. A quick glance was provided towards the medical staff, similarly shorted and needing some assistance. There were a few hunters flooding in, thankfully none being the exotic lieutenant of the unit. Should Sonya fall, Kaitlynn would be forced to leave the refuge of city hall to command the outer attack. An elite could be left in charge of monitoring the situation, but the outside was wild and ever-changing because of the current situation.
Based on the lack of radio activity, Kaitlynn presumed everything was proceeding as planned outside. The further analysis of the medical situation prompted the angel to rearrange her groupings.
A breath was sucked in, the angel still speaking with her thunderous authority. “Anybody experienced with medical and would like to volunteer to assist our team, raise your hand.”
After a few quiet moments, some hands darted up amidst the crowd. A brief gesture was provided, Kaitlynn’s hunters going in to fetch the healers. The volunteers were gathered and led towards where the medics were stationed, each promptly assisting the injured. A nod of approvement acted as Kaitlynn's response to the scene, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she watched the crowd. Parents calmed children, each reasonably worried considering the situation they were abruptly shoved into on account of the unpredictable actions of the Assembly. There was magic-based healing occurring, evident by faint flashes which happened when some used their abilities to mend the brutally injured. These were the grimly sights of the war between the TRS and AP, each fighting for victory, although, this battle was merely against terrors. There were plenty of Assembly soldiers prepared to brawl against the hunters of the TRS and these fights appeared endless. At times, Kaitlynn worried these skirmishes between the two groups would never cease and instead remain in a stalemate for all eternity; neither side wanted to budge on their beliefs after all.
The familiar voice of her darling lover arrived through the radio. Hastily, the angel descended, gathering the agents currently taking care of the massive crowd; they were thankfully elites.
"Maintain everything inside, the lieutenant needs my help outside," Kaitlynn explained quietly before turning on her heel to leave.
Hastily, the angel ran down out the exit, her wings pressed tight against her back as she entered the chilled breeze of a summer evening. Immediately, the clash of weaponry and magic reached her ears, but these noises became natural after years of service in the TRS. Both mutants and fear eaters littered the field while the TRS worked hard to fight off the terror threat plaguing the roads. Only a moment was taken to observe the scene, the sergeant analyzing to pick the best place to begin until she saw a familiar form being hurtled through the sky. The purple eyes of the angel widened in horror as her beloved girlfriend slammed into the stone stairs of city hall. Several beats skipped in Kaitlynn's heart as her stomach ached with worry, but the brunette attempted to maintain a stern, strong face; somebody needed to lead the troops. A single tear trickled down her face, but instead of breaking into a sob, the angel grabbed her radio and brought it to her lips.
"Lieutenant Sonya has been injured! I need a medic out her immediately, it appears a brute hit her, she is on the stairs of city hall. Make sure everybody remains calm, I will handle the attack as planned," Kaitlynn commanded. As she carefully passed by, she crouched to whisper. "I love you, so you better heal from this. I will make sure the unit wins for you."
Slowly, she rose to her tall height to provide the battlefield with another assessment. There was a moment spared to glance towards her lieutenant, concern obvious in her expression, but unfortunately, unit two needed somebody to command it. Despite her angel origins, she lacked the ability to heal major wounds or possible fractures from being flung into stairs, although, Kaitlynn wished she learned more. When she glanced back, her eyes managed to lock on the brute who decided to harm her precious girlfriend. As the sounds of footsteps rushed out of city hall, the angel spread her large white wings before flapping them to lift herself into the sky. There was no time to waste as she rushed forward, propelling herself towards the brute as electricity zapped between her fingers. One of its slow, large paws attempted to hit her out of the sky, but smoothly the sergeant moved around it, allowing her to get close and plunge the sharp tips of her gauntlet into the creature's back. A hasty light barrier was made to softly push away her fellow before the electrocution began.
Electricity was directly used on the brute, the angel's charged gauntlets allowing for a massive charge to run into the brute. The creature lurched, yowling a complaint from the sudden electrocution before clasping into the street where it turned to ash. Carefully, Kaitlynn rode the massive body down, bailing last minute into a brief glide before the pile of ash was created. There was one threat eliminated, but plenty left to face the wrath of the infuriated angel.
Carefully, Kaitlynn’s eyes scrutinized the interior of the city hall. With the arrival of terrors, the angel was placed on high alert, her purple eyes doing constant sweeps while her radio remained tight in hand. The Assembly of Phantoms would not be successful, the brunette was certain. Unit two proved on several occasions to be a powerhouse because of Sonya’s strict hunter requirements. Training was constant, their organized teamwork allowing their unit to successfully survive numerous scenarios. They would certainly survive their current situation, presumably without reinforcements, but caution never harmed anybody. Should an emergency suddenly arrive, hunters within the immediate area could appear to aid them, allowing for assured survival. While their unit was skillful and capable, possessing a back-up plan would assure the inevitable victory of the TRS forces. There were few moments where people managed to break through the strong defences created by their unit; formation was crucial, making it a respectable word amidst unit two fighters.
The personalities between Kaitlynn and Sonya furthered their ability, with the angel possessing a calmer edge while the familiar handles the aggressive assaults on the enemy. While they possessed plenty of potential alone, together they were an unstoppable fighting duo who smoothly separated to accomplish the task which the other may struggle with. Crowd control was frequently provided to Kaitlynn, allowing her watchful eyes to fixate on a small handful of troops. Each was arranged effortlessly, the angel occasionally providing different duties as required; such as the specific species for disguiser patrols. Those shady creatures could not be warranted time to remain hidden amidst crowds, plotting their attacks with their superior intelligence compared to other terrors. Periodically, disguisers managed to orchestrate interesting plans, creating stressful dilemmas for TRS officials.
They were cunning creatures, designed by Zeredah to replicate human patterns and thoughts, allowing them to speak a countries' language with precision after a meagre few lessons. Tricksters my nature, the intention to cause paranoia amidst the citizens being evident, furthermore, they were skilled in the art. A thin smirk graced Kaitlynn's mouth at Sonya's denial of requiring reinforcements. Somebody had to keep a caution for unit two, and frequently, the angel landed the burden onto her own shoulders; her exotic partner would be unlikely to request reinforcements on most occasions. A chorus of cheering followed Sonya's declaration, making it obvious everybody was excited for the chance to fight.
"Now, now, I never told them to come. I am just preparing for an emergency, dear," Kaitlynn teased lovingly. "Somebody needs to be the over-protective soldier over the unit."
There was a brief pause before Sonya informed the angel about possibly being called to assist. A broad grin stretched across Kaitlynn's lips, the sparks between the fingers of her metal gauntlets buzzing in exhilaration; her electricity was hungry for use.
"If it's one of those metal, animal combinations, you better! I can fry the tech right off the thing," Kaitlynn responded eagerly. "I don't think Zeredah thought about what some electricity can do."
Once the radio chatter ceased, the wraith and shifter hunters returned with their reports, stating they found no disguisers amidst the crowd. Presumably, the attack could have been calculated last minute or the enemy wished to preserve their valuable trickers for more worth while missions. The hunters were provided with a nod, Kaitlynn gesturing for each to take a position on opposite sides of the crowd. While Sonya requested everybody to stay within the building, the angel desired to maintain her caution to avoid mass-casualties should the situation go array. The wings on Kaitlynn's back began flapping until they managed to carry her above the crowd of fearful citizens. She was certain unit two could handle the situation outside, but testing the rookies' formation abilities during a mass panic would definitely be interesting.
"Listen up!" Her voice boomed through city hall. "I want to get this crowd organized in case of a breach, so this is what I want you rookies and your families to do. All regular citizens, I want you to stretch across the back wall, if we get breached, my hunters and I will work towards evacuating you. Any of you young hunters who fight using magic or enhancements, I want you to form a thin line around those who can't defend themselves. You WILL NOT leave city hall unless I tell you to."
Gradually, the crowd began arranging themselves, Kaitlynn pointing towards her other hunters to assist with the organization until finally everything appeared operational; they were prepared for the worst-case scenario. Possible reinforcements were notified, the citizens were prepped for possible evacuation and were kept calm. A glance was taken around the hall, the brunette nodding at the organized manner everything was handled.
Speeches proceeded in lengthy rambles which Kaitlynn only half-listened to; her attention was fixated on detecting disturbances in the peace. These would certainly drag one for a few hours, and after years of attending, the angel learned to ignore the sound and preoccupy herself with her own thoughts. Casual glances were taken towards the crowd, Kaitlynn detecting several familiar faces from the TRS graduation and accessing the future agents once again. The overall impression was rather interesting considering the number of youthful faces mixed in with the occasional older member. There were plenty of members of different ages who decides to join the fight to save Lorsette from possibly falling to the Assembly of Phantoms. Only a moment was left to ponder who they suffered along the way and left service for the afterlife or struggled with a permanent physical injury.
After years of working for TRS, the dark-skinned sergeant became acquainted with a plethora of ugly visuals from time spent on the field. Blood and gore were frequent visitors, resulting in agents needing to adjust to handle the grotesque bodies. As time progressed, Kaitlynn swore those scenes would become worse, each reserving a special place in the young angel's mind. A soft sigh escaped her purple-coloured lips as she proceeded to wander around her patrol route without any interesting sites. The lack of stimulation leaving her to her own thoughts while the monotone voice continued drawling on about accomplishments and journeys. In result, a majority of the crowd appeared as though they would accidentally slip into a state of sleep from the boring, long-winded speeches. The boredom appeared to proceed endlessly, Kaitlynn wondering if it was plausible to fall asleep while she marched down her route.
Suddenly, there was a loud thunk as the blade of a knife embedded itself into the wood of the large podium. Immediately, the speaker's face switched to shock, his voice being cut off from the abrupt and frightening act, however, it was an excellent signal for silence. The angel turned towards the crowd, allowing her gauntlets to power up with electricity the instant she heard about intruders. There were recruits who stiffened, some of the younger ones rising in hopes of being allowed to join the fray to impress their classmates and parents. Panic enveloped the crowd as the situation was explained, Sonya coming to her side a few moments later. The assignment of tasks went smoothly considering they each had skills better suited for specific missions.
As Sonya departed to fight, Kaitlynn cupped her hands and yelled behind her. “Radio me if you have troubles, I am all charged up!”
The shout referred to her gauntlets which proceeded to capture and hold electricity for the angel’s use. They were specially designed to cater to Kaitlynn’s shocking combat style. Once her lover disappeared, light erupted from the angel’s back as she spawned a pair of pure white wings. Their pristine feathers and general shape were already prepared to lift the angel into the air, allowing her to hover above the crowd. A pair of her fingers went into Kaitlynn’s mouth as she produced a shrill whistle to gain the attention of everyone remaining in the room.
“Everybody stay calm! The TRS will be handling this interruption as quickly as possible. Everyone will be alright,” Kaitlynn said with an authoritative tone. After a few moments, her eyes drifted to a group of hunters on duty, her slender finger pointed towards them. “I want you to head to the back exit and protect it! If you see anything let me know, especially if we are at risk of being overrun.”
Each hunter provided a crisp salute before hurrying towards the back door, the one in the back prepping her radio. After they departed, the angel swooped down towards her remaining officer and gestures for the wraith and shifter among them to step forward. She approached slowly, making a tight crowd to murmur her next demands. The sergeant needed to make certain no disguises were hiding amidst the crowd, prepared to cause havoc. Those creatures could not hide from all species, fortunately.
In a hushed voice, she relayed her demands. “Search the crowd for anyone of interest, got it?”
The pair paused before nodding as they understood the meaning of the vague command. Afterwards, the pair departed from the remaining soldiers to walk amidst the crowd, sensed searching. The angel watches them for a few moments before turning towards her remaining handful of soldiers.
“Divide yourself into teams and watch the doors. Let me know if any terror or injured are coming inside. If we need to evacuate, I want to know immediately.”
Once the commands were provided, there were more salutes as the hunters divided themselves into teams. On the inside, everything worked similar to clockwork as the sergeant demonstrated her authority despite the panicked atmosphere; years of work numbed her to it. After a few moments, she grabbed her own radio, a magically charmed machine meant to be immune to the electrical currents running through her gauntlets. The device was ferried to her lips as Kaitlynn inspected the crowd and flicked on to a widespread channel.
“We have been attacked at the city hall and are currently fighting off the terror threat. I or sergeant Sonya will let you know if we require back up,” she stated simply before switching to strictly the unit 2 channel. “I got everything in place, how are things out there?”
While she waited for a response, Kaitlynn scrutinized the city hall, her violet eyes watching the pair of hunters she sent into the crowd. She proceeded to glance around, watching as medical and scouting divisions continued to organize themselves. The medics had already fetched the wounded soldiers which returned inside, their hands moving swiftly. Meanwhile, scouts dispersed themselves to watch and provide information for all TRS agents.
Slowly, Kaitlynn walked around the perimeter of the building while occasionally glancing over the festivities occur. Her purple eyes observed everybody in the room, a majority calmly seated as the everything was handed out to the deserving students. Whispers were exchanged throughout the crowd, the younger children playing quiet games to entertain themselves. Adults sat tall, although, some appeared rather bored being forced to sit and listen to the dragging speeches designed to give the ceremonies some professional lavish. A melancholic voice performed a majority of the speeches, resulting in most of the crowd appearing on the verge of sleeping. These were moments the brunette wished they would have a more energetic speaker on stage or at least somebody who could maintain attention from the crowd; everybody seemed incredibly bored as they watched the presentation. A soft sigh escaped the angel's lip as she watched for a few moments before proceeding.
After a few moments, the angelic sergeant found a section of wall to occupy for a few moments while her eyes inspected the crowd. These were definitely the moments which made her wish to spend the entirety of this long shift walking around with Sonya. The scenario was impossible, but a pleasant thought on account of how boring the occurrences around her were. At least her girlfriend could provide conversation and perhaps whisper some sweet words instead of allowing the melancholic speaker to be the primary noise she heard. The angel was only half-listening to the speaker, but nonetheless found him a bore the longer he spoke; this graduation felt as though it would take hundreds of years. Once she spent a few minutes leaning against the wall, she pushed away to continue walking around and inspecting the crowd.
There were a few individuals who straightened in their seats from her arrival, the actions with the flirtatious teens fresh in their minds. They obviously wished to please her after the, unfortunately, circumstances from a moments ago. The action brought a subtle smirk to the angel's lips, an inaudible chuckle being captured in her throat as she proceeded. There were several glances taken around the area until a lanky man dressed in the TRS hunter uniform, his accents being a simple orange, approached. He managed to complete a sharp salute when he suddenly stopped, although, remained quiet to avoid being too much of a distraction. The sergeant gestured for him to cease the salute, the man hastily listening to avoid possibly annoying his sergeant. Already from their interactions, Kaitlynn could sense somebody who was perhaps self-conscious and concerned about receiving punishment.
"Yes?" She inquired, ignoring formalities.
The brunette crossed her arms, regarding the hunter with curious eyes as she waited for him to relay information from the various hunters in the vicinity. Most scouts were used to inspect the perimeter for terrors or suspicious activities instead of inside the enclosed space.
"It appears everything is safe, ma'am," he stated, attempting to avoid attention. "We've got clear from all men in the area. Is there anything else you need us to do?"
There was a pause as Kaitlynn looked down at the young man. She crossed her arms, resting her hand beneath her chin before a single finger softly touched her lips. After a few minutes of thought, she grinned, her hands resting on her hips.
"Check the doors again. Report the entry of any suspicious individuals in case we get a disguiser in here," Kaitlynn commanded.
A series of hasty nods were her answer, the man quickly turning tale to make his way to the doors. Once he disappeared, the angel proceeded on her walk, eyes searching for anything awry.
