Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

season
Summer 2022
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
With April, an activity check has arrived for members to do! Please post on the AC and tag all your accounts, including WIPs and OOC accounts. Failure to post on this AC will result in your accounts being marked inactive or deleted. Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
Silence dominated the large hallways of the TRS headquarters in the early mornings. The few still working dragging their feet as they desperately tried to finish their shifts. Those arriving still to sleepy to exchange more than a few passing words. A few floors above William found himself begining to wrestle awake. His eyes cracking open to a dim glow. Not from the sunrise, but from the florescent bulbs hanging along the ceiling. His morning starting just like many others sense he had arrived. With a grumble he sat up, briefly taking a look at his bare windowless room. The space devoid of any life beside himself due to safety concerns. After a quick stretch he managed to toss aside his blankets and head toward a small dresser in the corner. It didnt take long for the teen to gather his clothes and a few amenities. Before wrapping a towel around his waist. And heading out of his room and down the hall. His routine almost scripted at this point.
As he made his way into a sort of community shower area he quickly ducked placed his things down and ducked into a stall. Luckily waking up early offered the young man the benefit of having the entire area to himself. So he made no hurry in trying to rush things. After a good twenty minutes he finally shut off the water. As he stepped out he quickly dried himself down and secured the towel around his waist. He returned to his things for just a moment to collect his toothbrush and began to make his way toward the counter. After a quick rinse he stuck the brush into his mouth and glanced up into the mirror. Yet what he saw had the young mans heart pounding. He froze in place as his eyes locked on to the navy blue shape behind him. The color and pattern being quite familiar to the teen. Quickly he spun around confirming his suspicions. As there was a hunter apprentice uniform hanging on a nearby hook.
William's eyes quickly darted back and forth. He hadn't heard anyone else enter, and hadn't seen anyone either. His blood began pumping as he felt a devilish thought begin to overtake him. But he couldn't, he wouldn't.
And yet suddenly he found himself standing back in his room, looking down at the uniform laying on his bed. Unsure of what he was doing. After all it was crazy. He bit his lip as he lifted up the shirt wondering if he should really go through with this. But his hesitation was short lived as he pulled his arm through the sleeve. Quickly dawning the rest immediately afterward. With his plan in motion he ducked out of his room, doing his best not to be spotted. And hurried toward the nearby elevator. As he arrived in the main hall he felt a few eyes dart toward him. Yet only momentarily as they didnt seem to question the supposed hunter. It almost seemed too easy as he made his way out the front door and into the city. Even as he made his way down the street no one attempted to stop the teen. And why was there, after all he was just a hunter out for patrol.
He snickered to himself quietly as he couldn't help but feel like some sort of master of disguise. His happiness short lived as he came to the sudden realization he had no idea what he was actually doing.
During the early hours of a pleasant spring morning, Kaitlynn rouse from the depths of her slumber. Briefly, the angel snuggled into the depths of the comfortable fabric and drowsily glanced around, her eyes failing to fixate on anything. Beneath the covers, she rolled her shoulders, stretching the muscles to coax her exhausted body to rise from the comfort of the covers. Bleary eyes flitted around the room, blinks becoming prominent as she slowly adjusted herself into a sitting position. Carefully, her hand slipped under her search, scratching her mid-back while her other reached for the skies. There was a deep inhale of breath, the brunette's mouth opening broadly to release a loud yawn. The dark-skinned woman paused momentarily, her arms returning to her sides to carefully slide the blanket off of her before she left the bed.
Once she stood on the carpeted floor, her hand reached for the phone on her bedside table. A soft sigh escaped her mouth when the screen lit, revealing the time; she needed to get ready right this instant. Without hesitation, she stood from the bed she shared with unit two's lieutenant and wandered into the bathroom. Hastily, she groomed herself, narrowly managing a few spare minutes to place on a subtle coat a makeup; she skipped several routines, work always ruined it anyways. Simplicity became key, Kaitlynn mostly assuring her signature purple lipstick coated her lips. A brush quickly ran through her brunette locks tipped with hints of purple. Afterwards, she returned to the bedroom, opening the drawers to grab a fresh TRS uniform which lacked any alterations. There were no moments spent to merely doddle, the sergeant changing from the tank top and shorts she wore to bed in favour of the dark colours and bright accents of her TRS uniform.
Pants were tugged over her legs, a dark long-sleeved shirt covering her torso and finally the jacket which was tugged over her shoulders. The red accents displayed her high-ranking position, the colours popping against the slate of black and dark navy. On one side of her chest was a single, bright red star which shimmered in the light, allowing all to become privy to her status of sergeant. A pair of gauntlets were grabbed from the drawer, specially made for weaponizing Kaitlynn's electric magic in a more controlled manner. The storage system placed into the rather clunky gauntlets was designed for holding massive amounts of electricity which the angel could later use in combat as necessary. She hurried out the door, tying on her combat boots in double-knots before heading out the door. As usual, Sergeant Kaitlynn Harris walked to the TRS headquarters, thus the necessity to assure there was time to commute to work was great.
A single radio was secured to her hip while the woman jogged towards headquarters. Oftentimes, these trips to work were implemented into a regular exercising routine to avoid her body getting out of shape. The spring weather was only mildly enjoyed, the brunette avoiding a leisurely walk to assure she would arrive punctually. Upon arrival, the sergeant placed herself into her regular position of command and organized patrol groups before placing herself into her own. A smile touched her lips once the leadership tasks were completed and she was permitted to join her own patrol group for the morning. These would be the single enjoyable thing she would accomplish before paperwork. Silently, she waited on the ground floor, smiling once the group of hunters arrived who would join her on the lengthy patrol around the city.
As they approached, the hunters of unit two stood tall, each remembering the frightful amount of anger Lieutenant Sonya would display should they fail. Wordlessly, distance was closed, all exiting the building as the sergeant followed, eyes examining and finally noticing accents of yellow. A single brow raised as they exited the headquarters, the angel wondering who decided their apprentice would tag along, however, she never questioned it; these were excellent learning experiences.
"Listen up, we'll be heading out to the outskirts, the Northern portion of it. So everybody, watch your backs, those rumours about terrors lurking out there aren't lies," the angel explained authority. "We'll be carefully combing through the area to make sure there are no threats, understand?"
The woman's voice carried over the group, the experienced hunters automatically saluting and stating Yes, ma'am in response to their sergeant's orders. Professionalism was always well-received by the brunette, especially considering there were times where the outskirts could be extremely dangerous, she just prayed whoever brought their apprentice assured he would be prepared.
[ Just a random Chibi popping into your thread! I hope you don't mind me making the group of hunters unit 2 and under Kaitlynn's rule. I figured it would be more interesting since it will give her motive to investigate William in a way. ]
The fresh air outside of the headquarters filled the young mans lungs. He felt accomplished that he had managed to make it outside on his own. Yet he hadn't really planned much further than that. He considered trying to head to the cafe downtown he liked. Or perhaps to see the park in the early morning. Whatever the case the world seemed so open to the teen, a multitude of choices behind each step. He was certain he could manage to make it back to the headquarters before anyone noticed he was missing. And if he didnt, well he would just deal with the consequences when they came. A smile graced his lips as he stared wide eyed at the early morning city. Ready to explore, and thankful to his disguise no one would bother him. Well almost no one.
He had only made it a slight distance from the building before he had stopped. Being to lost in his thoughts to hear the multitude of steps behind him. Too ready to dismiss them as regular folks in the city. And as they began to pass by he finally managed to turn his head. His heart sinking at the sudden sight of so many TRS agents around him. He knew he had been caught, after all why else would they be here. He was about ready for them to slap him in handcuffs as one of the agents stared him down. "What are you doing? Get back in line before the Sargent sees." The man called out as he shrugged toward a woman approaching the group. William felt dumbstruck, before remembering the way he was dressed. "Y-yes sorry." He said nervously falling in step behind several others. A sudden since of dread crept up on the teen as his mind raced, wishing he had ditched the uniform earlier. Or perhaps never taken it from the showers in the first place. But it was too late now.
His eyes scanned the crowd as the woman finally arrived. Trying his best to mimic their actions of standing at attention. Yet standing straight started to become harder and harder as she spoke, due to the nervous shaking of his legs. "Terrors?" He muttered to himself. Clearly he was in over his head by this point. And yet he didnt really have much choice in the matter. He could try to talk his way out of the mission, but knew it would likely fail, or worse yet reveal himself. And running away with so many agents around him clearly wasnt an option either. So he had to follow, regardless of how bad an idea it was. At best he would make it back to the headquarters, at worst their search for terrors would be more bountiful than planned. With a quiet sigh he began to march in step with the other agents, trying his best to act like he belonged. All the while trying to keep his distance from the purple haired woman commanding the group.
Back straight and posture displaying confidence, Kaitlynn strode ahead of the group, their intense professionalism being evident; it was a common trait of unit two. Lieutenant Sonya drilled the members hard and expectations ran high, the unit itself acting with military-like prestige. Failure was a rarity on account of the merciless training regiments they were expected to endure, thus the angel possessed high expectations of the hunters who followed her; there was no room for cowardice. There was a limited amount of chatter between the groups, the hunters knowing thoroughly that Kaitlynn was less strict than Lieutenant Sonya. Gradually, the formation broke slightly, comfort being provided because of the lack of punishment. Voices remained hush, allowing the soft hum of the radio to be heard; there was always a chance of an emergency occurring.
There was a pause as a smile curved onto the angel's lips as her thoughts returned to the dark uniform with yellow accents. Perhaps somebody was training an apprentice who joined a separate unit or Sonya had forgotten to inform her of the fresh blood entering the unit. The exotic woman hand-picked potential hunters since she desired to maintain unit two's strength.
"You can all talk until we get there. We're going to be entering through the street on the left side unless scouts in the area tell us otherwise," Kaitlynn stated, her authority reigning over the group. "We will comb through our assigned section from there."
Briefly, the woman glanced over her shoulder, purple eyes searching for the apprentice who joined them. The formation was loosely maintained, hunters refusing to stray far as they discussed daily gossip or what could potentially occur on their mission. There were a few discussing details about Assembly members possibly being in the outskirts, which was an excellent evaluation. The outskirts were the easiest place for Zeredah's supporters to hide and avoid TRS interaction. As everybody walked down the planned route, Kaitlynn attempted to traverse the group in hopes of ending up beside the young apprentice which caught her curious eye. There were several inquiries flitting through the brunette's mind, most specifically who the individual's mentor and the unit they were apart of; hopefully, Sonya did not fail to inform her of this recent arrival. Currently, the sergeant believes the young man wearing an apprentice's uniform was supposed to be joining their unit on today's mission; nobody else appeared bothered by his presence after all.
Willimon continued to feel on edge as his disguise had perhaps worked a little too well. It had managed to help him exit the headquarters without any questions. But at the same time it had landed him a position on a hunter team. And he had no idea what that meant. His interactions with agents had been largely limited to scouts, and the occasional medic. But hunters were still a mystery to the teen. One small part of him actually felt curious enough to want to find out more. Yet the fear he felt far overrode any such idea. He knew that he would have to slip away somehow. Maybe if they were to split up he would have a chance. That perhaps no one would notice if he was gone. After all he wasnt supposed to be there in the first place.
And as the woman in charge spoke up again he felt like he just may get his chance eventually. At least whenever they reached the supposed outskirts. Sure there would be the problem of finding his way home. Yet he liked those odds much more than being figured out any minute that he was an impostor. Luckily however no one had questioned him up to this point. As no one admitted to being his mentor, so everyone just assumed it must be each other. Yet he did seem out of place in the pack. Eyes locked forward in thought, not chatting as the others were. All the while trying to keep a safe personal distance between himself and others.
He grit his teeth, mind still racing as he pondered his options. Yet a shuffling of movement beside him snapped the young man out of it. Several agents around him seemed to nervously shuffle aside as if making room. Only for the Sargent to step through and position herself right next to him. His eyes grew wide as he tried his best not to look worried. His heart beating so fast he could swear it was going to leap from his chest at any moment. He felt like making a break for it then and there, his chance of escape seeming to diminish each moment. But he knew she would catch him. Her imposing presence almost demanding authority from the young man. So he did something much more stupid, he opened his mouth. "E-excuse me.. but... wouldn't it be better for me to stay behind?"
Apprentices possess a peculiar air of mystery because of their status as new. Oftentimes, this manifested a curiosity inside of Kaitlynn, the young woman focusing her efforts on learning about these new souls. The backgrounds they held were interesting, allowing her to connect with these newer hunters and potential make Sonya privy to new information. Handpicking these apprentices resulted in observant evaluations, and the angel wished to assure she knew all information. Once she managed to place herself beside the mysterious, young man, a thin smile stretched across the brunette’s face. Immediately, she matched the boy’s pace, each step being matched by the angel. The smile remained as Kaitlynn pondered where to begin the questions, however, she heard a question from the mysterious apprentice. The angel raised a brow in response to the inquiry provided by the apprentice.
Quickly, the brunette's purple eyes flitted over to the assumed apprentice, brow still lifted at the notion. Under most circumstances, apprentices were excited for finally heading out on these missions. These were rare allowances, thus the sergeant was surprised the young man desired to stay behind. As her eyes locked onto the man, she noticed the symptoms of anxiety which resulted in her assuming she may have frightened him when explaining the mission. Undoubtedly, the outskirts could become a dangerous place, but the angel always prepared by having a backup ready throughout the encounters,
"Oh, c'mon. Did I scare you with all that garble?" Kaitlynn inquired with a smirk. "Unit two is the toughest in the TRS. I'm certain you will be safe."
Confidence was evident, sounding borderline arrogant because of her extreme faith in unit two and its members. They trained hard to assure victory in the present and future battles. Winning was important considering the circumstances which surrounded loss, thus their training regiments were crucial to avoid any misfortunes.
"Speaking of which, what unit are you in? I have heard there is some cross-unit training," the brunette asked with a smile.
A touch of curiousity reached her words, the sergeant genuinely wondering about the apprentice she discovered. Gradually, they would grow closer to the outskirts, Kaitlynn already timing when she would eventually be required to take control of the unit's movements.
Nervous only barely described the depth of the young mans current feelings. He could feel the Sargents eyes cutting into him, easily seeing through his disguise. And ready to call on the agents to seize him. It was only a moment now as the two walked in pace with one another. Especially after speaking out as he had. His mind suddenly reminding him there was some sort of formality to these things. As many of the agents oftentimes addressed each other by some sort of hierarchy. As he began to mentally kick himself the Sargent spoke up once more. However this time it wasnt quite so imposing.
It was much more calm yet still assertive, not the loud order barking from before. And inquisitive almost innately."Perhaps a little..." It was enough to break him out of his tunnel vision, glancing briefly over to see a... smile? He blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Wondering if perhaps his fears were unfounded. "That's good to know." He said trying to sound as calm as possible. Yet he couldn't help but be slightly shaken by her words. Not only had she blown off his request to leave as a joke. But she also confirmed that any of the other members were fully capable of exposing him as a fraud on their own. However it was calming to know they could likely handle themselves if his magic was to draw anything out.
And then the Sargent essentially tossed a live grenade to the teen. Her question catching him rather off guard. "uhmm well.." He began to say as he pondered his next words wisely. As she had stated before they were clearly in unit two, which meant that wasnt an option. But he had no idea how many units there was, or what the number may signify. So he decided to try his luck once more. "Well I'm not really part of a unit, per-say." He stated, feeling that a half truth was better than a complete lie.
And on top of everything else William felt a slight headache coming on as the group made their way closer to the further reaches of the city.
Constant intimidation was not Sergeant Kaitlynn Harris' style of commanding, the TRS higher up completely alright with mellowing down and engaging in conversation with her teammates. Those were the true methods to create everlasting bonds and endless trust between one another. The fluid manner fought was evident when city hall was attacked during the graduation ceremony. Powerful, confident and courageous were the words frequently associated with the second unit of the Lorsette Branch's Terror Response Syndicate. Alas, they were renown for stricter expectations, courteously of her beautiful Sonya. A soft chuckle escaped the brunette's lips when the supposed apprentice admitted to being slightly nervous. Those were common emotions when dragged along on a first mission, especially considering a majority had never fought terrors of Assembly members until the first time their mentor takes them out for duty.
Attentively, the angel listened to the words the apprentice, a smile remaining on her face when she managed to sooth some of his concerns. The brunette was pleased with her efforts to calm the young apprentice, besides, everybody needed to be prepared for potential threats. Alas, she never thought about taking the man's request seriously, the brunette genuinely believing he was merely anxious about his first mission. Finally, their conversation progressed to being related to the young man's unit, to the sergeant's delight. However, she did not receive the expected answer as the boy danced around the question, stating he was not in a unit. Immediately, Kaitlynn raised a perplexed brow at the strange answer; nobody answered those types of questions like that.
"What do you mean?" She inquired, crossing her arms.
Confusion remained evident in her voice, the sergeant's eyes locked entirely onto the mysterious apprentice claiming her lacked a unit. There were a multitude of questions entering the woman's head, mostly because this boy wore a TRS uniform, and yet, claimed he held no unit. Certainly, the unit would be labelled below his name tag for validation purposes, but requesting it appeared to be a better method of initiating conversation.
With each step further away from the city's center William found himself feeling more odd. The slight headache becoming a soft buzz continually ringing in his ears. It was enough to cause him to raise one hand to gently rub at his temple. Yet as far as he could tell it wasnt any sort of sickness, but something more akin to an anxiousness. As he lost focus for a moment his pace slowed slightly. Bringing the two just slightly apart from the group. He tried his best to push the feeling aside for the time being. At least for the sake of his cover. Yet with each passing moment he could feel his disguise becoming less and less effective.
As evident by the sergeant's inquiry to his statement. As he noticed the puzzled look on her face he felt his chest tighten up. As he realized he clearly chose the wrong answer. "Well.. you see." He said as he tried his best not to panic. He came to a stop, turning slightly to face the woman. "They didn't really... give me.." He could feel his breathing becoming heavy, his thoughts becoming clouded as he searched for an answer. It didnt help that he felt the womans eyes piercing into him like daggers. Trying to figure out whom he was. Yet one thing stuck out that the teen hadn't accounted for at all, something he had overlooked entirely. Standing squarely with the woman his badge was now on display. Clear as day it started he was a member of unit one, and worse yet it was a females badge.
Almost instinctively William felt like something was wrong though. That he had made some kind of mistake. His eyes grew wide as he tried to speak out. But only found his feet scrambling beneath him instead. His body telling him that he had to flee. Luckily however their brief pause had given him an opening, as the other agents were just slightly further up the street from the two. Quickly he darted down the sidewalk. And in an attempt to loose her he quickly turned in between two buildings, skidding up against a brick wall in the process. Yet as he tried to get up he felt his headache return, this time even obscuring his vision. He got back to his feet with a slight wobble. His body suffering from the change in environment. As he had spent so long in the heart of downtown his body didnt have time to acclimate. And something as simple as cleaner air was having quite the effect on him. Still feeling overstimulated he tried his best to take another step, only to stumble once more and have to catch himself on the wall. "Please... not now..." He muttered to himself as he could still feel the woman hot on his trail.
Each step carried them closer to the sparse outskirts, citizens gradually thinning until the troop of unit two hunters. Despite her fixation on the mysterious apprentice, Kaitlynn was completely alert to her surroundings as they moved closer to the outskirts. She listened to the subtle noises around her while her purple eyes glanced around them. Everything was noted the closer they got, especially the body language of her fellow hunters; they were tensing, signifying they were gradually getting closer to their destination. A majority of the conversations were hushed, the angel knowing her capable hunters were preparing to enter the outskirts. While she was forced to divide her attention, it promptly trained entirely on the apprentice when he stated he lacked a unit. A subtle pause graced her movements, the sergeant's eyes flitting towards the blond, fixating on him.
Immediately, her purple eyes located the name tag alongside the unit the young man would have been provided. As they drifted over the identifying features, they widened as they noticed the letters stating 'UNIT ONE' alongside a name tag holding a female name. Before Kaitlynn could reach to grab his wrist, the young man began running, resulting in the sergeants eyes narrowing as she instantly followed.
"GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!" She commanded, earning the attention of her subordinates.
The sounds of footsteps following behind her filled the angel's ears as she pursued the mysterious man; she believed him to potentially be an Assembly spy. The woman's well-trained body carried her smoothly down the sidewalk, her fellow hunters close behind her as they attempted to close the distance. As she turned a corner, the angel paused, her purple eyes searching for the young man.
"Search the area, if my suspicions are right, we need to handle this right now," Kaitlynn stated authoritatively.
Each hunter provided their sergeant with a crisp salute before separating to search the immediate area. Briefly, the brunette watched them, assuring their assignments would be completed. When she turned away, a luminescent, white light engulfed her back, stretching out, forming the familiar shape of wings. Gradually, the light dissipated, revealing a pair of large, feathery, white wings sprouting from her back. Figuring out exactly where the boy disappeared to was nearly impossible considering how powers could easily change circumstances. With that, the woman flapped her large wings, heading into the skies above to essentially watch the streets below while her hunters searched. She remained rather close to the ground with her flight, the brunette completely aware of the difficulty in discerning identities which arrived with being higher up.
With one hand bracing the wall William continued to make his way down the corridor. Each step feeling more labored than the last. As what was once a headache had become a pounding in not only his head, but throughout his entire body. He grit his teeth at the sensation as it continued to bubble underneath his surface. Begging for release. Almost as if he had to vomit, yet somehow from everywhere. Yet he knew what a bad idea dispelling so much magic at once would cause. Without something to channel it through it likely leave him unconscious. And he couldn't risk drawing so much attention as well.
As he tried his best to push on he heard a shouting from the street behind him. As clearly he had caught the attention of more than he had expected. He couldn't help but think of how much easier it would have been if he just ignored the uniform in the first place. He could have been so bored right now, wandering the halls of the headquarters. The thought actually appealing compared to his current situation. After all he would much rather be a boring fae, instead of the alleged worst spy in existence.
As the sounds of shuffling feet drew closer William found a renewed sense of energy. He knew if he stayed in the alley someone would notice him eventually. He had to push on between the buildings. As he reached the end of the corridor he noticed a gap just a couple feet wide, barely enough for him to squeeze through. He didnt care much for tight spaces, but knew he had little other choices. So he quickly ducked inside and began to scurry toward the light on the other side. Yet as he finally slipped through he found himself rather suprised. As he was suddenly standing face to face with what was causing him to feel so odd. Behind the buildings was a stretch of land just slightly smaller than a soccer field. And in a place where a building had once stood remained only various piles of rubble. Now reclaimed by nature.
William stood at the edge where sprouts of grass began to peak between the concrete, and vines traced over fallen red bricks. Suddenly realizing what was happening to him. Yet it was short lived as he began feeling much worse than before. As the sensation inside him had come to a critical point, making him feel like a bomb ready to explode any moment. Feverishly his eyes darted around the area until he noticed a small tree growing near the center. He winced as his legs began to carry him toward it. Though it was small, and not quite as ideal as he would like. It was living, as would offer him some relief. As he got closer he almost tripped into the thing, desperately trying to get his hands on it. As he did so the area underneath his palms started to illuminate, sending a golden light into the surface of the tree. Almost instantly he felt the pressure start to fade, much slower than he would like, but fade none the less. All he had to do now was find his way back to the headquarters without being spotted. That is once he could pull his hand away from the tree.
Spies were not particularly uncommon, the Assembly of Phantoms being renown for their attempts of devious fighting. Sabotage was even a potential goal which crossed Kaitlynn’s mind as she soared above. In the outskirts, terrors or other Assembly members could easily hide, resulting in her belief there could be darker intentions lurking in the boy’s mind. The soft hum of a ready radio filled the angel’s ears, her purple eyes narrowing as she searched the streets below. She conducted a large analysis of the area while her teammates scoured the grounds. Somewhere amidst the outskirts was their potential spy, and Kaitlynn could already imagine how upset Sonya would be if unit 2 failed to track down and capture this man. Naturally, the angel desired to please her beloved girlfriend and assist her fellow hunters in avoiding her condemnatory gaze.
The hum of silence was concerning to the sergeant, her eyes narrowing as determination claimed her. She would find this mysterious man and drag him to the TRS herself. An annoyed groan escaped her lips as she circled the area, smoothly flying through the air and peeking through the gaps in buildings. Occasionally, she managed to notice her fellow hunters, but she ignored them to search for the supposed spy. Suddenly, the subtle golden glow through the cracks of a building captured Kaitlynn's attention, her keen observations paying off. The brunette narrowed her eyes, electricity loading into her specially designed gauntlets; they dubbed her Electra for a reason. Should the situation transform into a full-out brawl, the sergeant would be thoroughly prepared to handle the situation accordingly. Quickly, a button was tapped on her radio, allowing her voice to be heard on the channel.
"Come to my position," she stated quietly, pausing a few moments before sending a bolt of electricity through the air.
Theoretically, this spy possessed access to their radio channel, thus Kaitlynn considered it pointless to keep their position hidden for a mere investigation. Once the signal was sent, the brunette dived down, wings pinned to her back as she entered through a relatively wide hole. Beams of sunlight were filtering through the room, nature reclaiming what originally belonged to it. Vines draped over the walls, grass shot up from where patches of the floor were destroyed and finally a single tree with their spy's hands on it. Upon entering the space, Kaitlynn's wings unfurled, slowing her descent as she dived towards the ground. Promptly, her feet collided with the ground, however, speed made her landing wobbly, a hand requiring usage for a steadier landing.
Relief was the first thing that came to the young man's mind as he clung to the small oak. The light underneath his fingers fluctuating as the tree struggled to absorb the magic being pushed into it. Under normal circumstances William would never do such a thing. As it could potentially damage the nature around him. But currently he had no choice. Not with his head pounding the way it was. And a whole squad of TRS hunters searching for him. He let out a sigh as he wondered if telling the truth would have worked out any better. Yet he felt like telling the Sargent he was a prisoner wouldn't go much better.
His attention turned down toward the source of all of these problems. His gaze resting on the uniform tightly buttoned to his chest. One thing was certain, if he was going to get out of here he needed to ditch it. So he awkwardly began the process of removing it. One hand reaching over unclasping the center buttons as best as possible. And as he went to slide his arm out he found himself in a slight predicament. Having been a female uniform it fit rather snuggly around his arms, and with one one free hand it was rather difficult to remove. He tried his best to shake the thing loose, only managing to free half.
Yet he didn't have time to do much more as he was interrupted by a solid thump coming from a few yards away. His panic almost instantly returned as he prayed it had only been some rubble falling, or possibly a small animal. He turned as best he could, one hand still secured to the tree. Only to find that the Sargent had taken little time in tracking him down. "W-wait!" He said raising up his only free hand with an open palm. The uniform still hanging awkwardly from his forearm. "I'll go back... I swear." He said under the assumption she had already figured out who he was. "But you have to stay back... It isn't safe."
The weight from her large white wings resulted in a requirement for Kaitlynn to kneel upon entering the building, her gauntlet crackling as it hit the ground. Bolts of static discharged into the ground, crackling electricity echoing through the room until the woman lifted her hand. The sergeant remained balanced in a crouching position, purple eyes narrowing as she scanned the deteriorated room. An initial sweep was done before her eyes returned a locked on the blond who attempted to elude them. Quickly, Kaitlynn pushed herself to her feet, white wings pressing against her back as she strode closer. Plans of capturing their alleged spy filled the angel's mind, the young woman being determined to accomplish the abruptly changed goal of her outing. Spies were a dangerous presence, and the brunette would be damned if she allowed one to escape with whatever information he held.
When the man stuttered out the word wait, she paused, raising a brow in confusion. Perhaps this was a bizarre trick? Either way, the sergeant waited, knowing her fellow hunters would diverge on the area, probably making it impossible for the mysterious man to escape these circumstances. The stranger stated he would return to the TRS peacefully, yet, Kaitlynn allowed wariness to flash in her stunning, purple eyes. At the mention of danger, the angel crossed her arms, evidently unaffected by the electrical currents coursing through her specially designed gauntlets.
"If you're telling the truth, tell me right now what the danger is," she called towards him. "I also want your name right this instant, and no pathetic lies. You will also tell me how you obtained that uniform."
Despite danger being mentioned, the huntress was evidently unconcerned with the potential injuries which could be inflicted. Light was filtering through the gaps in the walls, suggesting she could protect herself via light manipulation. While Kaitlynn's ability to manipulate light was mediocre, it still operated as a viable defense in dangerous situations. As a result, the angel summoned the light to her side, several orbs floating around her as she waited for the young man's answers.
William felt backed into a corner. With one hand clinging desperatly to the tree. And the Sargent advancing toward him. Not only had he trapped himself inside the ruined building. He was incapable of moving as well, as removing his hand would cause the nausea to come back. His attention stayed locked on the woman whom had tracked him down. Seeing her in quite a different light than before. Not only because of the plumage extending from her back. But her attitude had changed as well. No longer was she trying to be the encouraging Sargent. Now she had a look of determination in her eyes. Coldly glaring him down.
As he called out he felt a slight bit of relief though. As she had actually halted her persuit for only a moment. Only to snap it away with the crackle of electricity. Then with a demanding tone she called out. Asking for answers. "I.. I.. uh." William's head lowered slightly in shame. Feeling horrible for having caused such a commotion. "My name is William Farris." He said lowering his hand. "I live at the headquarters, really I do. I just found it, I didn't think anyone would notice." He was clearly flustered, evident by his tone becoming more spuratic. "I just wanted to go outside.. then your team found me.. then I ran... And now my magic." He said frantically, too paniced to explain himself clearly.
