Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
osuah didn't stop what he was doing even as his other half openly complained. But he did explain to him why he was creating the hex. "It's a precaution," he revealed, and glanced briefly towards him from behind the couch. "Hanzo has barged in on us once before."
He had drawn the hex so many times in his life that he finished it easily despite the complicated design. And then he was standing to his full height and looking to Brendon Redal.
rendon interrupted him before he was able to speak, and he was surprised that he was so frustrated that he hadn't taken more. It was strange knowing what they were and seeing the way they acted around each other. He didn't know Brendon...but he was happy to be there with him. He made a low noise of strain as his body ached with the want for more and seemed to refuse to take from the necklace to satisfy.
Procubi were supposed to be able to just be within the same vicinity as their soulmates and be able to thrive. But he imagined his lifestyle had hindered his ability to just naturally take. He needed to get comfortable with it...but that would take time.
Hanzo's voice was sadly a much needed distraction and Josuah didn't hesitate to retrieve the radio for Brendon. But the moment he gave it to him, he was rounding the couch and beginning to draw a hex onto the floor.
eeding was so much more than he could have imagined. He had studied it for the sake of knowing, but experiencing it was so different. There was nothing unpleasant about it...and it felt so natural...like it was always meant to be. He would have liked to be emotional about it...to feel at peace.
But years of starvation had taken its toll and a premature energy draw was not enough to fix years of destitute. He shuddered on a breath as he clenched his teeth together and actually moved away from the boy's side.
"I thank you...for what you gave," he struggled to tell him, his fingers clenching against the material of the back of the chair."But we'll still need to be careful...I have gone years without...feeding," Josuah explained and Brendon could see so easily that he wanted more...that his body was fighting him harder now that he had been given a taste.
Just take a little...at a time," he urged and his persistence would be his downfall. His gaze lulled and strained as he unconsciously turned more towards him. "That's right..." he whispered. "Only yours will do..." he muttered and lowered moving to bring his lips to his neck.
He could feel his heat...taste his scent and it was maddening. His mouth watered as his hands rose gripping the sides of his arm roughly, squeezing him in place as he touched his cheek to his neck. The moment they made contact his whole body seized with a burst of energy.
It made him gasp vocally and he couldn't stop his arms from encircling the boy into a tight embrace as the thrum of his energy began to fill his being. It was so peaceful and warm, like nothing he had ever experienced before. But there was also a growing need beginning to rise within him and it was something Brendon could feel too.
Alarm filled him in that moment as rumors of his species made him more sensitive to his own sexuality causing him to jerk back and break contact with the boy. His chest rose and fell as he panted and the color of his skin, hair and eyes shimmered with new life as he was rejuvenated.
"I'm sorry," he told him immediately, still breathing and looking completely jarred by their moment.
sound escaped him when the boy latched onto his arm causing his whole body to became jarred with the sensation. He grew tensed his eyes starring ahead as his breath caught in his throat and his ears burned with Brendon's persistent words.
He wanted to...everything inside of him screamed to accept. But his fear wouldn't lessen. Emerald eyes finally drew down to the male as he gripped him and looked to him imploringly.
"...I'm afraid of hurting you," he admitted honestly and glanced away feeling tense and uncomfortable with the whole situation.
e was so tense that it physically hurt, his eyes were trained on the boy's shoes as he stayed so close, teasing him. But Josuah was still scared...scared of what would happen. He had gone not days, but years without being properly fed and now if they touched...what would become of his other half. His fear was unreasonable considering what they were to each other, but that didn't make it go away.
A forced shudder left him, exposing his desperation the moment Brendon offered himself to him. But Josuah couldn't stand it, he lifted, quickly moving away from the male with wide eyes as his body trembled and his hand tightened against Brendon's artifact.
osuah grew tense when the boy approached, his eyes lifted up to his as he purposely stood right in front of him. His hold against the necklace tightened and he...unconsciously pulled from it.
"I..." he began, feeling the urgency to warn Brendon. "I'm a Procubi..." he whispered lowering his gaze in shame. "My species is supposed to feed on others to live..."
here was no recognition in his eyes and Josuah immediately looked down feeling anger at that reality. He gave a nod when the boy spoke, stating that he didn't have much interaction with his mother. His jaw tightened and stories he had read of soulmates being kept apart on purpose began to flood his mind.
"This necklace belongs to you..." he began, reaching inside to withdraw it, but there was a strain in his speech. "But you never gave it to me did you..." he whispered and felt himself tremble somewhat.
He was happy to have him here now, but things he had held onto for years...were being shattered and it hurt. "I would have died without this..." Josuah revealed quietly.
rendon's smaller form moved forward, his ability to stay away faltering completely. But both of them were interrupted by Hanzo's voice. The evasion of their time irked him but Procubi kept his mouth shut and let the boy handle it.
His lips did twitch slightly into a smile when he saw Brendon's scowl. He had been so confident before about the five minutes, but now it was becoming a burden...as it should.
"Did your mother...ever mention me to you?" He asked quietly, but he felt like in his heart he knew the answer.
rendon's little ears lowered signaling his dismay at the reality of their situation. He was a smart boy, even if he was stubborn. It made him wish that he could comfort him, but he didn't know what would happen if he did.
Josuah watched silently as the boy spoke and revealed to him the fear that came with such a tragic event. "If I had the power...I would take you away from all of this, but all I can do is promise you that I will be relentless in ensuring you live a good life."
There was so much he wanted to tell him...to give to him...but he had to restrain himself. To resist his hunger and take things slow no matter how hard that was.
osuah's gaze strained, his chest feeling heavy with the tears that misted the boy's eyes. He knew this was hard and that what he wanted was what his soul wanted.
"I know," he told him softly, and his eyes were filled with longing...longing to have a peaceful life with him.
"It'll be safer for us both if we aren't together, but I'll do it if it's what you really want." Josuah told him and he was willing to give in...to cave at every corner even if it meant their happiness would be brief. He could be this way because he was starved...starved with the loneliness he had endured for years.
osuah knew what he wanted all along, what Brendon intended on demanding and giving it to him in such a way was so rewarding. His gaze lulled as the boy blushed and tried to compose himself, but it was obvious he had been startled. He was so beautiful with his fawn ears and golden antlers.
A soft shudder left the boy as he fidgeted in place, but he just couldn't withhold his demanding nature. Josuah glanced away from him then, finding a place to sit that wouldn't allow the boy to be beside him.
"...The disguise will help us." He told him slowly, emerald eyes lifted to his, though they held a tiredness to them. “I’ll adopt an alias in my real form and be by your side always… that way no one knows it’s my life they should be targeting. While Josuah Ardel remains locked away… untouchable.”
he interior of the building was as grand as the outside and it shocked the system. He had never been anywhere as beautiful as this and he couldn't stop his eyes from wandering. But Brendon was completely unfazed, seeming more interested in him than anything else. The thought should have been humbling, but he wasn't a fool. He understood that the boy was completely desensitized to his surroundings.
They were from two different worlds it seemed. Brendon drew open a door immediately, letting Josuah be silently astounded by the exquisite reading room next. His throat felt dry then, seeing all of this mastery before him.
It made him feel needy...for attention...to stun the boy into awe once more. And that is what he did, Brendon's words lingered mid sentence as he turned and was immediately jarred by the breaking of his hex. Red light glowed around him flickering shards of magic as everything was disbursed.
Slowly, he drew his hood down, and then his cap and mask, letting the boy once again see his true self.
osuah's mouth drew into a thin line, his gaze darkening and moving away from the two as they spoke. He tried to block them out, but his ears took in every detail of their interaction. He had never been someone prone to jealousy and that made the feeling feel so invasive now.
Only when Brendon called to him as he started up the stairs did the older male bring his gaze to him and begin to follow. But from the look on his face, or rather what Brendon could see of just his eyes...he was angry. Again the two communicated and the radio became a new source of aggravation for the male. He would have liked nothing more than to snatch the device from his hands and burn it to a crisp. But then Hanzo would just come...
If only he was strong enough to...teleport the boy far away so they could have some real privacy.
osuah didn't look directly to Brendon as they road, but his gaze did purposely look to his reflection within the car window. He could see the frustration building as the drive continued and he knew exactly the reason. It would have been easier if he was more forward, if he stepped in place beside the boy and rose to his full power. But he wanted to be careful, to throw off their pursuers. His years of hiding created the perfect alter existence and he could use that to protect them both.
Dark eyes moved towards the boy within the limousine and then his bodyguard Hanzo. The three of them had become entangled in conversation regarding that man's loyalty. He had learned that Hanzo had served his family for years and had been by Brendon's side for three. It stirred jealousy within him that he couldn't contain, but he always tried to reason with himself...
Brendon was not like him, his species was not under the constant threat of feeding from others. The reminder caused him to look away, his features becoming solemn as he thought about the conversation they'd soon have regarding his species.
It was then that his new home came into view and the sight of it was startling. It wasn't a house or a large mansion but rather a castle that stretched as far as the eye could see. A breath left him, his features showcasing the daunting reality of their new lives together. But he was given no real time to react before the vehicle came to a stop. Hanzo was the first to get out, and then Brendon and finally Josuah. The young male kept poising himself as though to appear older or perhaps to showcase that he was in charge. But Josuah didn't feel any form of aggression towards him or the need to dominate the situation...he only ever wanted one thing...to work together.
A slow nod left him when Brendon told him quietly that they'd be able to speak in private soon. He didn't say anything to him out loud because he knew how much the boy disliked the voice of his disguise. He decided to withdraw his phone in order to write a message for him, but the device began to ring on it's own, showing an unknown number.
His brows drew together as he glanced to his soulmate, and then silenced all callers. It was then that Hanzo returned, radio in hand for the boy. Josuah's gaze narrowed on him, not appearing rather friendly as he waited for Brendon to lead the way, despite all of them knowing a tour was just an excuse to be alone.
