Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Begrudgingly, Felix obeyed the wishes of his shield. Wounds were a devastating infliction at times he comprehended, however, the blind man was aware of his condition. The hasty instincts of Bruce's protectiveness allowed the informant to avoid being damaged by the enemy. The TRS informant adjusted his sitting position until comfortable on the uncomfortable examination table. His ears listened to the sounds of movement as Bruce took a few steps closer to the wall and leaned against it. The bodyguard appeared exhausted after the amount of exertion placed on his large shoulders.
The vexed young informant awaited the assistance of the medic. Carefully, his hand reached up, adjusted the rounded black-tinted glasses higher up on the bridge of his nose. Then the softest voice reached his ears, something gentle like a lullaby and calming as the rhythmic waves washing over a beach in idle. The concerns dissipated slightly still existed in his mind but soothed by the comforting tone of the mysterious medic. Few people managed to summon a sense of calmness for the young informant, but no complaints would be registered.
A gentle sigh breezed through the slightly parted lips of Felix's lips. Independence screamed against it, however, the TRS informant understood it was true.
"I suppose you are correct," he agreed quietly.
Silently, Felix allowed the stranger to begin the process of the magical examination. The magic crawled over the informant's skin, noticed by a soft warmth, hardly noticed. Although, a single trait overwhelmed the Felix as suddenly, things changed. Beyond his thought process, something flickered, a slight change from the constant darkness. Vision lightened, something that widened Felix's eyes in confusion as nothing discernible appeared, merely a slight shift in lighting. Then it disappeared, leaving him into the dark.
Words were stated, a distant blur as Felix found himself staring forward, thoughts churning. What happened?! What did this medic manage?! He heard the questions leaving the medic's lips, but his thoughts focused on the peculiar sensation maybe, that filtered through his body. As the questions ended, Felix never answered.
"What did you do, may I ask?" The informant asked quietly.
Confusion struck Felix's mind because of strange magic cast upon him. He needed to know what happened, it was crucial! Something beyond the gifted man's thoughts of possibilities occurred, and he wanted to break this down and make logic of it. A realm of possibilities existed, although, none appeared plausible, leaving Felix stumped. Such a shift in an underused and turned useless sense made sight never a thought. His eyes were incapable, malformed and left to never grant him the illustrious gift of seeing the world for all its beauty.

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Silently, Felix listened to the suffrances inflicted onto his bodyguard. The damaged condition of the brave dragon summoned self discourse in the blind informant. His follies in the recent mission were prevalent with every spoken injury. Every mention of a wound another example on why the plan was disastrous. The craving to prove usefulness outweighed common sense in a foolish instance, leaving the informant stationed on the chair and listening. It left the blind man quietly chastised himself over the reckless choices made in the name of useless information.
Bruce was injured, there was nothing valuable to report and should the information be held carefully under wraps, they would expect further observation. Everything about the mission was decimated, shattered because of his beliefs he could gather what the TRS craved. From beyond Felix's mulling over failure was Bruce, sitting hushedly as the medic treated him kindly. The magic was used to recover the injuries were welcomed, the bodyguard easing as the pain lessened. There was subtle ease to Bruce's breathing from the positive sensations of wounds mending.
A soft appreciation entered the bodyguard's eyes as he listened to the stranger's words. He nodded at the gentle suggestions, listening to the professional's advice.
"Thank you," he answered, a hint of weariness in his voice.
Gradually, Bruce rose from the medical bed, his eyes shifting to his blind charge. Weariness shifted to seriousness as he walked passed the medic and stood before Felix. The informant's eyes noticed the movement through the high-precision static shifts. His eyes locked onto Bruce, making it difficult for people to confirm his medical condition.
"You should get looked at as well," Bruce suggested with a thick sternness to his voice.
The bodyguard knew his charge. Lusting for independence kept him from accepting assistance, therefore, the stern-nature of his voice arrived naturally. A frown displayed itself on Felix's face as he straightened his back, his distaste for the suggestion hidden beneath a phlegmatic mask.
"I was not injured, you defended me," Felix countered.
Neutrally, the informant spoke, words carrying barely audible hints of stubbornness. He was determined to prove his capabilities, alas, he seemed keen on making nothing easy. Was it intention? No, Felix never wanted to hassle Bruce, but the responses were automatic. A soft sigh escaped Bruce's lips as he crossed his arms and stared down the blind man.
"Felix, I implore you to at least get checked over. I refuse to leave here until you at least get a once over," the bodyguard insisted. "The situation was dire and it is best to assure everything is alright. Then we can go give the report."
A gentle sigh breezed through his lips as Felix finally stood from the chair. Arguing with Bruce longer would bring them nowhere, thus, he decided to submit. The blind man leaned the cane against the wall before heading towards the examination table to pull himself up.
"As for the report, there is nothing. Everything we discovered is of minimal value to the TRS, I assure you," Felix informed Bruce. "The most I could provide is the well-educated assumption of no upfront Assembly involvement, but the possibility still existing."
Information from the mission was limited, and Felix despised it. Failure haunted the informant as he sat on the medical table, silent. Glimpses of it were evident in the tense-nature of jaw, as though a nervousness crawled over his shoulders and chilling his spine. He wanted to prove himself youthful, but here he sat, information limited.

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Murphy's Law. The fundamental law meaning anything that could potentially go awry with a plan would happen. A saying established in the 1940s which was believed to possess its origins with members of the armed forces during World War II. Many attempting to prepare for circumstances turning rotten, however, at times these moments could not be halted by the meagre existence of a back plan or on-the-fly strategy. As it stood, Felix discovered himself being escorted down the hallways after a brilliant demonstration of the infamous "Murphy's Law".
Eavesdropping on shady occurrences near a back alleyway in the outskirts, in hindsight, was a dangerous plan. Alas, when people chattered in his ears about the existence of Assembly members in the area associating with the local gangs, things changed... The risk was assessed, weighed and shortly viewed as worthwhile considering the information they could receive. Therefore, Felix lurked alongside Bruce for hours, listening in on some illegal deals. His bodyguard murmured about calling in for assistance, he recklessly insisted they remain silent for now.
In the presence of law enforcement, criminals, including Assembly members, hastily became tight-lipped. Therefore, Felix's sponge-like mind would best discover information overhearing the words of possible felons as opposed to arresting them. An error in judgement resulted in heavy-handed consequences falling atop himself and Bruce. Their location had been tipped off and shortly, the gang gathered to wreak havoc among those attempting to gather their information. The altercation was met with Bruce scooping him up and shielding his client while Felix spouted information over a radio.
To worsen matters, no crucial information in regards to the Assembly were discovered. A false lead, unfortunately, however, the people involved in the assault were promptly arrested and detained. Alas, it left Felix following the escort of those assisting his wounded protector to the medical ward. Low-class diagnostics were accomplished by the escorts as they spoke about a potentially broken nose, gashes across Bruce's back and several large bruises. Sadly, they believed the possibility of more extensive injuries being hidden beneath a stoic facade.
Dragons reserved the ability to suppress painful sensations after all... Silently, the blind man followed, ashamed of his foolish pushing, however, too proud to confess those emotions in front of everybody. Perhaps when he entered a more secluded location with his bodyguard he would apologize for his thoughtless decisions. The entire reason Felix retained zero injuries was because of Bruce's protective instincts. Without the actions of the courageous bodyguard, the informant would have suffered severe consequences for procuring the useless information.
Concerns were exchanged between the escorts as they assisted Bruce through the hallways. Through the high-precision static waves sent from Felix, the gifted man noted the sluggish nature of his guardian's walking. The manner his feet shuffled, the slouching of his back and ultimately the subtle limp to his left leg. Compared to the well-manner, straight-postured protector he familiarized himself with, this was a frightfully stark contrast. Fortunately, the TRS proved willing to provide medical attention seeing as Bruce was considered an asset to their efforts.
Somebody needed to protect the young man capable of remembering a word should it be repeated a single time. The vivid descriptions of a situation Felix could provide accompanied by Bruce's colouring in of the suspects, quite literally, the pair were a powerful team. Their powerful partnership became the foundation of a respectable relationship between Felix and Bruce. Together, they proved more useful, therefore, Felix begrudgingly accepted the dragon's assistance. As much as he craved independence, he could never inform somebody of colours.
Gradually, they reached a vacant room where the escorts stated a medical profession was situated. One opened the door before bringing Bruce into the room and assisting him in a sitting position on the examination table. Words would inevitably be exchanged between the escorts and the medic. Through the conversation, Felix followed, not dissuaded by the possibility of a healer requiring privacy with the patient. If anything, the blind man believed he deserved to listen to the extensive list of injuries caused by his folly as punishment.
Therefore, without hesitation, he discovered a chair in the corner and stationed himself there. He promptly positioned himself, right leg crossing over the left while his hands met atop the cane. It felt proper in Felix's mind to position himself like this, alas, the true judge would be perspective.

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Left, right, left, right. The rock of motion from Bruce’s hefty steps was the only sensation calming Felix. Otherwise, he felt similar to a helpless newborn cradled in his mother’s arms! Despite the despair of dependency, the blind man maintained his silence, unable to argue against it. Nonetheless, an inaudible and annoyed sigh breathed through his lips. Fingers curled tighter around the cane as begrudged thoughts surfaced through the jackhammer headache. Unbeknownst to the blind informant, Bruce’s eyes occasionally fixated on him, assuring his safety.
Should the blind man had discovered this, he would have displayed traits of annoyance. Closer they drew to the haven, the wondrous location where Bruce could be assured of Felix's safety. Eventually, the front doors of the gym came into sight and Felix heard Bruce's soft sigh of relief. They managed to reach the doors of protection, making Bruce's body appear eased because of their location. His charge was successfully preserved of injuries except for a noise-induced headache, but physically he was perfectly fine.
Upon arrival, the scout's ridiculous words resulted in Felix's eyes narrowing as he accomplished an annoyed eye roll. Meanwhile, Bruce managed a smile and nod of appreciation to maintain positive relations.
"Thank you," the large man stated. "Stay safe."
With those words, Bruce turned away, carrying his blind client into the safety of a gymnasium. The man's antics mattered naught considering he managed to assist in the safe transport of the informant.

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Closer, closer and closer. Every step accomplished by Bruce's powerful legs carried them closer to the safe haven known as the gymnasium. They were promised safety inside the walls of the building and Felix found himself praying it was truth. The thunderous noises of battle meddled with his focus, creating difficulties in focusing on the high-precision static that operated as his sight. Pulsating pain echoed through the conclaves of Felix's mind, creating an almost dizzying sensation for the young, blind man.
The silence from the blind man remained as he was ferried further from the primary battle scene. Determination filled the dragon bodyguard carrying him to safety. It was improbable Felix would perish from the aching of his head, however, relieving those painful sensations was something Bruce desired to ease. Alongside Gideon, Bruce proceeded down the field, heading towards the gymnasium where he assumed TRS guards would be perched. The wounded inside required protecting, therefore, it seemed likely hunters would be swarming the location.
When Gideon declared they had almost arrived, visible relief appeared on the bodyguard's face. Soon his client would be safely tucked inside and protected from the malicious people attempting to claim the lives of the TRS.

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Blindness and dependence were linked tightly by high-quality titanium chains. Never breaking, rust-proof and charmed to extra strength to avoid any possibility of shattering. Felix discovered himself trapped in an ill-favouring situation that desired him to ALWAYS depend on everyone. Hatred about his situation surged through the blind man's veins, refusing to cease as people insisted on his helplessness, decided on his disabilities and never once consulted him about capabilities. Cruellness was an indescribable concept when referring to the battles of the bind man.
From the beginning, his suffering started, never viewing the world and he never would. Forever, Felix would be required to depend on others, much to his begrudge. His outburst of woes was designed to express the presumed inability to sympathize with his circumstance. People were rarely born blind and more often discovered their eyes withering from the haunting presence of age. The delt cards were an ill-favouring losing hand against a man with a quadruplet of aces held in his meaty fingers. Unfortunately, Jason disapproved of his response and immediately assumed it was a sleight against this man never suffering from a loss of independence.
Listening to Jason's plights with his angry rant, although, Felix was already not fond of his. There was a complete disregard for the reasons behind his entire complaint! Did this ignorant hunter fail to comprehend how sight hinged on whether he would be independent or not?! The blind man ceased his movement as he listened, eyes narrowing as he heard every word, offended by the man's foolishness. The retort kept Felix silent as the man spoke critically and emotionally about a traumatic incident between his brother and himself; details spared.
Afterwards, he had the gull to deliver an apology and inform him how he was not speaking about his blindness. An infuriated scowl was drawn on Felix's face, a rarity for the regularly expressionless man.
"Ignorant," he mumbled, clenching his cane tighter. "If you speak of my dependency, you automatically involve my blindness. I cannot say I sympathize with your circumstance, but do not pretend you know mine. Never have I or ever will witness the splendid beauties of this world. I never had independence and never will, that is my plight. Forever I will have to depend on people... there is no recovery."
The ending of his words was punctuated with an extensive sigh. The admittance harmed his soul, however, he would never inform the man about those emotions.
"Take me home, preferably with haste," he mumbled. "If you wish to yell at me further, you are welcomed to. However, I stand beside my words."
Steps were taken forward in the assumption of the man's location. Without his high-precision static, Felix lacked a method of sensing the world around him. Silently, he steeled himself for the further chastizing of the tiresome hunter, believing it was an inevitability. The anger disappeared, replaced with disappointment hidden beneath a neutral front he forced upon his countenance.
[ It's all good, just means more fun. <3 I will say, Felix was not as angry as I thought. >.> ]

[attr="class","blindballottalker"]Independence, something almost every individual placed upon this world received as they crossed the necessary thresholds of life. Many enjoyed the pleasantries that arrived with a fresh dosage of independence. The restrictive chains of reliance being removed with the single twist of a kindly key. It was something Felix feared they would never experience because of the overprotective nature of their parents and malicious malformation placed upon their eyes. For them it was elusive, but endlessly craved with every passing day. Alas, what they wanted mattered naught to the world.
Without proper eyesight, reading was impossible and despite their electricity manipulation functioning as a form of “sight” their parents would never dare to relinquish independence. Therefore, in Felix’s opinion, there was more at stake than damaged pride… Should their parents receive word about this dangerous incident, any sense of independence they received would be ripped from their grasp. They were caring parents but to a suffocating degree. Alas, confessing their emotions on the subject to the hunter proved to be an error... for when the man spoke he granted them an ill-favoured answer.
Those words this foolish man stated openly displayed his ignorance over the situation! Everything they fought for could be cast away into the depths of the void, NEVER to be seen again. Every word was listened to, Felix’s hand gripping the cane tight enough to turn knuckles white. The last thing they desired to hear was how dependence was not horrible and, in their perspective, how they should be CONTENT about it. This man beside them never spent his entire life blind, unable to know the sugary taste of complete independence. HE had that opportunity, but them?
Never once given a thorough chance because of overprotective parents and this ACCURSED SIGHTLESSNESS! The blind individual’s eyes narrowed, an annoyed frown touching their face.
“May I be bold enough to say you know nothing of my plight! I have never been given that opportunity no matter what I do! So don’t act as though you know my struggle, because you don’t, plain and simple!” Felix snapped at the man assisting them.
Over the course of years, Felix struggled with their eyes and their lack of proper function. Never would they be capable of witnessing the beauty of the world... or discovering the sense of capability that arrived with that. With those words, the blind individual allowed the silence to fall. They desired the fact to soak into the man's head about the vexing matters of their disability. They had never viewed the world, and they believed they never would.

The sounds of clashing surrounded them, the things Felix picked up on hastily. There was nothing else they could notice except the thunderous, frightful sounds of combat around them. The other men could use their eyes, being granted the gift of complete awareness through the access of all senses. Meanwhile, the blind individual laid cradled in their bodyguard's arm, wondering about the occurrences around them.
They were silent as the men sorted their plan, refusing to speak any further because of the tremendous aching of their head... All Felix wanted to be a quiet location to ease their mind until finally they were released from the painful burden. As the force field open, Bruce sent the projectiles towards the terrors. Several injuries were given to the low-class terrors until they transformed into a fine ash. With the situation handled, the light dragon glanced towards Gideon, nodding at his question about the terrors.
Further agreement was provided in the form of a nod before the pair proceeded to move. The rhythmic bouncing of movement queued Felix about their journey continuing. The blind individual hoped safety would arrive soon, not because of helplessness or fear, but rather to escape the malicious migraine conquering their mind.

Everything in correlation to their mind was pounding from the thunderous noises of alarms mingling with combat. Focus felt impossible and the pain they experienced, indefinite. With their blind eyes squeezed shut, Felix focused on their breathing, praying they could miraculously escape the torturous sensation in their head. They heard words being exchanged between Bruce and Gideon, however, refused to comment because of their mental condition.
The sounds of combat surrounded them, Felix's grip on their cane tightening in a desperate attempt to handle their worsening migraine. The jostling of a faster pace made the situation more ill, the blind individual flinching from the movements being accomplished. Meanwhile, Bruce's fixation was on crossing the field and getting his charge to the safety of the gymnasium beyond. At one point, smaller breed terrors blocked their path, Gideon placed up a forcefield, defending them from the monsters. Without much thought, Bruce created floating points of light to throw towards their enemies.
He glanced over at Gideon. "You can lower it for a moment or make a hole and I can dispose of them."
Should Gideon listen to Bruce words, the light dragon would shortly throw the light needles to remove their opponents and allow for progression.

rapped inside their dark, little world, Felix listened to their surroundings. Combat heavily conquered the cacophonous noises happening around them as people shouted, powers were used and terrors roared. Between those noises were the whimpers and cries of the injured, bodies damaged from the brutal onslaught of attacks fired. The outside world had transformed into a war zone, one worse than the headquarter's interior, alas, one that required facing. While the area was filled with battle, terrors and Assembly members were capable of sneaking through the corridors in the midst of blaring alarms.
A gentle sigh breezed through the blind individual's lips as they remained trapped within Bruce's arms. The movements of the dragon glancing around were noticed by the subtle sway. Plans were being formulated by the bodyguard and the scout he pulled aside. Silently, Felix listened to their words, head soon resting against Bruce's chest. Their head was pounding from the noises, an uncomfortable groan leaving their mouth. The sound prompted the bodyguard to glance down at his client, the man tightening his grip to bring comfort.
"I think your plan is best. However, we best hurry, my charge gets headaches from noise," Bruce murmured. "I can also put up a defence."
With those words, the dragon began moving, starting slowly as he inched into the open. Once they entered, the white-haired dragon began running, his sprint slow from his species. Alas, he needed to maintain Felix's safety, therefore, he was determined to.
I envision Felix preferring lyric-less works and more atmospheric music. They would also favour their fair share of piano music along with some other pieces.
ach step signaled the decrease in distance between them and the gymnasium in a separate building. Alarms continued to blare as they hurried through the corridors, steps soft as they moved through headquarters. As Bruce observed the area around them, Felix silently remained cradled in the muscular man's arms. There was nothing the blind individual specifically looked at, rather, they quietly resigned themselves because of Bruce's statement. The situation was tense, concerns suffocating them as they moved through the headquarters.
Based the reactions being exhibited by Bruce and Gideon, there were no threats in the immediate area. Yet, Felix could notice the tightness in the muscles they settled their head against. Their situation was unpleasant considering the possibility of death or injury lurked around every corner. The actions and noticeable body language displayed by Bruce were natural reactions, yet, still disliked from Felix's fierce independence. They wanted to help others and break free from the boundaries dictated by their blindness and over-protective parents.
As they approached the doorway, any ruckus around them dissipated, perhaps being blocked by the loud alarms. The blind individual remained silent as Gideon provided some directions. Since it appeared to not apply to the informant, they remained silent while the bodyguard nodded in response. As the door was opened for them, Bruce inched closer, eyes searching beyond the threshold as they left the confines of the building. The bodyguard noticed the distant battles between TRS hunters and terrors, hence his pausing to assess the situation.
Felix's safety was a priority for the bodyguard after all.
he present situation made Felix feel similar to a child being carried in the muscular arms of a parent instead of a bodyguard. The blind individual narrowly avoided pouting, their expression staying neutral as Bruce held them. There was nothing which could be accomplished in rebuke against the current situation. The emergency-state of their journey through the TRS headquarters meant they would not be entrusted with walking by themself.
Words escaped the scout’s lips as he stated they arrived at the ground floor. Despite their arrival, Bruce’s grip became tighter, making it clear his release was postponed. A soft sigh of complaint escaped Felix’s lips, however, Bruce refused to heed their sighs. The bodyguard followed Gideon closely, eyes locked on him as they ventured through the dangerous area. There was caution required because of the present situation.
The rhythmic feelings of movements occurred again, Felix unable to escape their bodyguard’s grip. More words were exchanged, Bruce giving Gideon a nod as they moved.
“We should be quiet, it will be safer now,” he suggested quietly.
A grumpy Felix remained settled in the bulky bodyguard’s arm, arms crossed as they held their cane close. The stairs were an excuse to keep them in their bodyguard’s grip and now Felix had no choice.
he rhythmic sways from Bruce's body gently rocked the blind individual as they remained inside his arms. They were descending further into the dangerous realm of the closed-off staircase. Alarms blared through the staircase, maintaining Felix's helpless position and assuring Bruce would refuse to release them. A gentle sigh breezed through the blind indvidual's lips as they remained eased in their current position. The purple-haired individual had wanted to assist the TRS in more methods, but was stuck being an informant opposed to anything more interesting.
Silently, the blind individual listened to Gideon's answer. Clutched in their hands was their black cane, the grip tightening when provided an answer from the scout. Providing satisfactory suggestions in this difficult situation, the concept somewhat frustrating the informant. They wanted to assist where possible, yet, their suggestion was essentially blown off. The joke failed to make them break a smile as they quietly sulked in Bruce's arms. The neutral facial expression was maintained, hiding the possibility of any other emotions.
The pace was increased, the informant uncertain if it was from their suggestion or not. Nonetheless, they found themself feeling useless in the present situation, it was difficult not to when suffering from blindness.
"How close are we to the ground floor?" Bruce inquired as he followed Gideon.
It was a valid question considering how long they were descending. Due to blind individual's enhanced memory still burdened by an insufferable headache, they failed to precisely count the steps taken by Bruce to successfully deduce how many remained before they reached ground level. There was little Felix could accomplish with a painstaking headache and no static particles to sense their way around. The blind informant remained silent, waiting for the scout's answer to the inquiry.
