Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
~~Thump Thump Thump~~ 'H-he said yes?!' Williams hand became like a vice grip around the scouts fingers. His face stuck with an expression of shock and disbelief. 'He actually said yes! T-takumi and I… are a couple?!' He felt like he was about to faint at any moment. Unsure if he was still stuck in some sort of fever dream, still asleep on a park bench somewhere. As a matter of fact the last twenty four hours felt surreal. He almost even felt like pinching himself. 'Ok, now just don't do anything stupid..'
"Y-yes. Yes! YES!" He shouted. His hand unclenched, and he started moving toward the scout once more This time however he didn't seem to be taking everything slowly. And in an instant he was on top of the scout. His hands wrapping around the man's shoulders and embracing him. The grasp sending a small amount of dust scattering. He could feel the heat radiating off Takumi's chest. His own thumping against in rapidly with his heartbeat. His face buried into the other males shoulder.
He knew things would be difficult for the two. Their relationship having to be kept secret. Of course there was the problem of not being able to touch. Yet that came with a secondary issue. Mainly being that the TRS would likely not sanction any sort of relationship with the blond. Even if it was with one of their scouts. The prospect was just too dangerous. Yet William was willing to accept those risks. The blond taking a few deep breaths of the man's collar. The familiar musk bringing a small smile to his face. 'Ok.. that's enough, just.. stop now….' He started to lean up, his hands still on Takumi's shoulders. Yet he stopped just a few moments in, holding still suddenly, eyes locking with the scouts own. 'Don't! Don't!' Though his mind was screaming no the blond didn't seem to listen at all. His arms wrapping around Takumi's neck and pulling himself in closer. And placing his lips on the scouts own.
Takumi blinked and smiled a little at William's excited words at them being a couple. Well, he was certainly happy about that. He lightly shook his hand to get feeling back in it when the blond had released it, though his eyes widened a little when William had decided to place himself on top of him. Oh boy, that wasn't the most ideal places to be. Takumi quickly grabbed the seat lever to push his seat back a bit so the horn on the steering wheel wouldn't be hit. He released a soft breath and raised a hand to gently rub William's back as he was hugged.
Well, he was glad the teen was happy and he supposed that was one of the more important things for the blond - aside from safety that is. He continued to rub William's back as the blond had his face buried into his shoulder, just letting him be there for the time being. He smiled as he gently tilted his head to place it against William's only moving it away when the blond started to lean up with his hands on his shoulders. Though he gave the blond a questioning look when he stopped suddenly, their eyes locking as they looked at one another.
He blinked once as he felt William's arms wrap around his neck and pulled himself closer, soon feeling his lips pressing against his own. Oh, that was unexpected. The scout just kind of sat there in a small stupor for a few moments from the sudden action before he raised the hand that hadn't been on William's back to place it on the back of his head, the hat sitting between the blond's hair and his own gloved hand. He returned the kiss that had been given to him for a couple of minutes before he finally worked up enough willpower to get the both of them to stop for a moment.
"I'm glad you're happy, cutie. Though we probably shouldn't be doing this in the car, anyone could walk by and it's frowned upon when people do stuff like this in cars." He told him, giving him a smile anyway as he looked up at the blond. He gently patted his back and gestured towards the passenger seat with his head a little, shifting slightly from where he was. "Let's get going to our next destination, hm?" He suggested, leaning towards the blond to give him a small and gentle kiss for the moment. "We still have places to see, right?"
It felt like heaven in the man's grasp. The blond leaning in further as the seat rocked backward. Causing him to fall flat against the males chest. And as the two kissed, he felt like puddy in Takumi's hands. His mind only focused on the present. Not caring about the consequences, not caring about being caught. A soft coo rumbling up from his throat as the scout placed a hand on the back of his head, furthering their embrace.
He wanted to rush out of the car. To scream at the top of his lungs how happy he was. He knew that he had to keep it a secret. Something that was much easier said than done for the blond. He just felt so giddy that he wanted to tell someone, anyone. As Takumi began to pull away from the kiss William let out a deep breath. A few sparks of magical energy arcing between their lips as they moved apart. "S-sorry, I don't know what came over me.." He said, blushing deeply.
He was embarrassed, excited, nervous, and happy. All at the same time. It was exhilarating. The thought of Takumi and him, being together, being a couple. He just had become overwhelmed by his emotions. As the scout snuck another small peck William let out a soft embarrassed squeak. Sending the blond retreating back to his own seat for the time being. "Y-yes we should.. go.." He said, diverting his gaze out the window. His hands tucking into his lap rather awkwardly.
Takumi released a light chuckle at William's apology before he darted back over to his own seat. "You've got nothing to be sorry for, just keep it in mind for next time, hm?" He told him, pulling the lever on his seat to get it back up again. "Go ahead and get buckled up, William. Now, which place would you like to see next?" He spoke up, pulling out of his parking spot to beginning driving off. Honestly, he'd just drive around until William saw something he wanted to do, but he'd give the blond the chance to pick something first at least.
"We have until sunset to be out and about, then we'll need to get back to headquarters so you can get back to your room." The scout mentioned as he checked the time for a brief moment. At least the car was warm enough for them to sit in while they explored the city together, and at least they didn't have to walk around in the cold either. He glanced towards the blond for a few moments, smiling rather happily. Yeah, he'd definitely have to keep this relationship of theirs a secret indeed. He had no idea what could possibly happen if someone found out, and he didn't want to risk anyone finding out any time soon.
He had to admit though, the idea of such a forbidden relationship was exciting to say the least. Though, he had grown to care about the young man quite a bit, seeing past the dangers the blond held. Thankfully the scout knew what precautions to take when dealing with the blond as well, so that would possibly work in his favor too. Hopefully.
It didn't take long for the young blond to strap himself into the vehicle. Still remaining just slightly angled away from the scout. The car hummed to life and before long the two were on their way. Taking a cruising pace they began down the road with no real destination in mind. The decision of where to go left entirely up to the young man. His brow raising curiously as he pondered a few ideas. Which turned out to be a rather good distraction for the teen as they drove. A few minutes after returning to his seat and William finally felt his heartbeat beginning to subside.
He honestly had no clue as to where he wanted to go though. Having the entire city opened up to him was a rather daunting thing indeed. After all, before he had been limited largely to wherever he could wander into. Often times it ended up with him being kicked out. But now he had the scout with him, someone with authority, someone who knew the city far better than himself. "Well… perhaps we could see this 'movie' you promised before.." He said, glancing over to the scout. "Or.. Takumi could… show me Takumi's house?" He said in a much more hushed tone. Unsure if he was asking too much of the man.
Takumi glanced towards William at his suggestion of going to see a movie, and then a quieter mention of his home. The scout chuckled and turned his gaze back onto the road as he drove to where the cinema was located at. "How about we go see a movie first? Just remember, we can't speak while the movie plays, at the very least you have to whisper. If you need to go to the bathroom or need to leave the room we're in with other people during the movie it can't be paused, okay?" He informed him, glancing over to the blond once more before he returned his gaze to the road again.
It didn't take too long for them to arrive at the cinema, Takumi pulling into the parking lot to find a place for them to park. Once he had found a spot he turned off the car and unbuckled, glancing towards William. "Okay, let's go get in line and see which movie to watch, hm? I'll pay for us to get inside for that movie and I can buy us some snacks and drinks to go with it, but we don't have to since we just ate breakfast." He told him, giving him a smile as he got out of the car. He waited for William to get out as well before he held out his gloved hand for William to take. "Let's hold hands while we walk up to the cinema, yeah?"
The scout was pretty pleased at being able to take William to visit and do different things in the city. It was fun to say the least and everything that happened earlier that morning had completely vanished from his mind. "After the movie is over I'll take you over to my house, how about that? I'll cook us some lunch while we're there and you can explore the place."
Alright. By this point William was sure he was dreaming. Not one, but both of his requests were given the green light by the scout. And the blond couldn't be happier. A wide grin crossing his lips as he sat there dreamily staring out the window. He didn't know what to expect of this 'cinema'. Though from the pictures Takumi had shown him his expectations were rather high. The place was covered in lights and extravagant posters. All that seemed to vary in their own sort of way. Whether they be fantiful, dramatic,or even morbid in some occasions. He honestly had no clue as to what they all meant.
Though it seemed their little outing came with a few more rules. William let out a small sigh at the effort of keeping track of the growing list of requirements to going out in the city. Keep close, no talking to strangers, no kissing in cars, no talking in movies. It was a bit much to take in at once. But doing it for Takumi's sake make it feel much more barrable. A few more minutes of driving and the two finally arrived at their destination. Leaving William in awe for a few moments as he stared wide eyed at the many lights, and crowds of people shuffling both in and out of the place. Gingerly he stepped out of the car, his eyes darting left and right at everything that seemed to catch his attention.
Yet he wasn't given too much time to be distracted. As Takumi offered him a hand. Clearly to keep the blond from getting lost with all of the other people around. Though the blond took it one step further. After grabbing Takumi's hand William scooted rather close to the man. His other hand reaching up and grabbing onto the scouts sleeve. Pulling himself right up next to the man. As they entered the building it became apparent that the crowds were at least somewhat putting the blond on edge. Luckily however he had Takumi there to cling to for safety.
It didn't take long for the two to finally shuffle through the building along with all of the other movie goers. Eventually the group funneled into a rather odd looking room full of seats. William cautiously looked over to the scout on his side for some sort of approval that everything was fine. The man's rather relaxed attitude about the whole thing setting his mind at ease. They took their seats, William making sure to select two less than ideal chairs near the front. If only to distance himself from all the other people. "Is it always like this?" He said glancing to his side. Yet before he could get an answer.
~BRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT~
The noise seemed to shake the entire room, as if it was coming from the walls itself. And the lights suddenly went dark. "Eep!" William suddenly blurted out. The young man quickly darting back onto Takumi's arm as he looked around trying to figure out what was happening. Yet everyone else seemed calm, oddly so to the young man. 'Did they not hear that? Why isn't anyone else concerned?' He thought, eyes darting around rapidly. Yet after a moment the blond began to realize what was going on. As a bright light suddenly lit up the massive screen in front of them. It caused the blond to blink a few times, his eyes were still adjusting to the change in environment. It didn't take long after that for William to finally realize what was happening. The bright lights and sounds finally coming together to create a massive picture in front of the two. "It's like a giant tele-" He began to say, only pausing as he remembered the scouts words about talking during the movie. So he bit his tongue. Resolving to stay silent until the movie finished. His eyes glued to the screen he didn't even realize how much time was passing.
Takumi allowed William to cling onto his arm as he held the blond's hand and walked to where the cinema was, getting in line and buying them their movie tickets and getting inside. He walked them to the theater room and allowed the blond to pick their seats, to which Takumi should have probably picked them but oh well. He chuckled softly at William's question, glancing towards him with a small nod just as the noise came from the walls to signal the start of the trailers and then movie.
He didn't mind that the blond had darted back onto his arm from what just happened, simply shifting slightly to better let the blond cling onto him a little better. He allowed his own eyes to adjust to the darkness before the giant screen lit up to begin showing stuff. He glanced over at William as he began to speak, smiling as he saw the blond catch himself. He'd tell him more once the movie was over.
~~~~~~
It took about two hours for the movie to be completely over, the lights eventually coming back one once the credits finished rolling. Plenty of people had already left when the credits first started but he figured William would have preferred to wait until people were gone to leave the theater. "How did you enjoy the movie, love?" He asked him, smiling as he stretched a little and stood up as he offered his hand out to William once more. "If you need to use the bathroom right now we can go find one, though it might be a little crowded. Otherwise we can head to my house and you can use mine there while I see about what to make for lunch." He told him, guiding him out of the theater room they were in. He was happy that the blond was enjoying himself, and he was also happy he got to do these things with him as well.
After coming to terms with what was happening William began to feel much more comfortable with the situation. The warmth of Takumi's body and the dark environment almost lulling the blond to sleep. And had it not been for the booming movie in front of him he just might have. With each suspenseful moment William found himself clinging to the scout further. Visibly jumping in his seat at each startle and spook, no matter how obvious they may have been. If it weren't for Takumi being by his side he probably would have even darted out of the room at some point. Yet he stuck it out, the two sitting there in silence as the credits began to roll, and people began to filter out. Yet William stayed seated, eagerly watching the list of names waiting for something else to happen.
That is until Takumi had decided to ask him about the movie. William glanced over, shooting the man a look as if to question why he was breaking his own rule about being quiet. The young man clearly not getting that, in fact, the movie was clearly over. He wasn't given any more time to wait by Takumi, the scout getting up and offering him a hand instead of watching the credits as well. William gave a soft grumble, slightly disappointed that it was over, and he took the scouts hand. "It was amazing!" He stated, getting to his feet and wobbling. His legs slightly asleep from sitting so long. "I think I can make it." He said with a soft smile. Easily being guided along by the man out of the theater.
And before long the two were in the car once more. Shaking off the cold as they hurried to start the vehicle. As William started to buckle himself in he seemed quite happy. He had never considered going on a date before. Yesterday he didn't even know what one was. But he was quite certain he liked them now. "How often do they show the movie?" William said turning in his seat toward the scout. "Do you think we could go again sometime?"
Takumi was pleased with William's response about the movie, soon just hurrying out of the cinema and to his car with him to try and beat the cold. Once in the car he started it up and got the hot air blowing out of the vents, buckling himself up soon after that. At his questions Takumi chuckled and glanced over towards him with a smile. "Well, it'll show that movie along with a few others for maybe a couple of weeks before it is put onto DVD and new movies can be seen at the cinema." He explained to him, tilting his head to the side a little as he scanned his eyes over his face. "As for if we can go again...I don't see why not. It was fun watching the movie with you." He told him, reaching a hand over to ruffle William's head through his hat.
After that he drove off out of the parking lot and towards where the suburbs were located at, driving past some apartment buildings and houses until he eventually came across a single story house that had a nice little porch. He pulled into the driveway before he reached up to press a button near where the lights in the car were to open his garage door, waiting before pulling into the garage to park the car. After that he turned it off and got out, gesturing for William to do the same. "Be careful of the door, I'm going to shut it now." He told him, walking over to where another door was located, which led into his home, and pressed a small button to close his garage.
He waited for the blond to come over to him before he opened the door and allowed him to go in first before he followed in after. "You can go ahead and take your shoes off over here. Just place them on the mat there." He spoke up, closing the door to the garage and moved over to a mat to the left of the door, taking his own shoes off and setting them down there. They were in the spacey kitchen at the moment, the garage connecting to that part of the house, and he walked through it to go take his winter gear off. "You can go ahead and put your winter clothes over on the couch for now. Feel free to explore, okay? I'll be in the kitchen for a bit seeing what to make us for lunch. Just...if you open a door and find stairs leading down, don't go down there by yourself." He informed him, pausing to look at the blond before he smiled and approached him, kissing the top of his head despite the small rise of golden dust. "Make yourself comfortable, okay? Oh, and the bathroom is just down the hall to the left."
Zipping through the city William was happy to hear that this wouldn't be their last time at the movies. And also somewhat surprised to hear that the one they watched was only one of many apparently. He sat there reminiscing over the one they had just watched. Eyes dreamily staring out the window once more. Until the change in scenery began to catch his attention. The buildings started to get smaller, and everything started to open up just a little bit more. There were trees, and presumably even grass underneath the layers of snow.
He had never traveled to this part of the city before. Mostly because he didn't want to drift too far from the TRS. But also because he simply didn't know it existed. Everything about it seemed much more unique than the city. As each building seemed to have its own personal touch that set it apart from the others. And before he knew it, the two were pulling up to a quaint little building. Not much larger than a few rooms back at the headquarters. They drove into the strange tunnel like protrusion on the side, the door seming to open up on its own at their arrival. Unsure William stepped out of the car into the dark space. It smelled of oil and exhaust. His eyes scanning the area as Takumi called out to him. Immediately after the room began to rumble, the door at the far end sliding shut with the noise. Yet with the sound William jumped, quickly turning toward the scout and hurrying after him into the open door.
Yet what he saw when he entered nearly made his jaw drop. As he hadn't expected the man's house to be so large. At least compared to his own arrangements. "This is all yours?!" He said quickly kicking off his shoes and darting into the center of the room. He spun about a few times, taking in the sight of the place before Takumi mentioned for him to remove the things he had brought. He let out a slight sigh of relief at the idea. As he had begun to feel slightly smothered in the layers of winter clothes. One by one he began to strip them off and toss them onto the couch. First the hat, then the jacket. And finally he took off his gloves with a small bit of hesitation.
He felt nervous removing the gloves. He trusted Takumi, sure. But he knew it was just one simple slip up and he would end up dosing the man again. Yet he wasn't given the chance to make the mistake, as Takumi ended up making the first move. The scout wandering up and kissing the top of his head, regardless of the magic. It caused William to blush deeply. His gaze shooting to the floor as the man told him to get comfortable. He nodded softly, doing his best not to act too flustered. As Takumi wandered back into the kitchen William realized he actually needed to relieve himself. The blond glancing around toward the aforementioned hallway. He quickly darted down the hall, opening a few doors until he finally located the bathroom.
Once he exited he began wandering through the house. William couldn't help but be amazed at all of the little things the scout had. From something as mundane as a bookshelf, up to a house plant. Everything seemed to interest the young man. Eventually he peaked around a corner toward Takumi, the young man seemingly awestruck. "Honestly. This can not all be yours. There is just so much… do.. other scouts live here too?" He said curiously.
Takumi had been in the kitchen while William explored his house. He'd settled on making some out of the box mac'n'cheese for the two of them to have. As well as some chips he had stored in his pantry when he felt like pigging out on junk food. When William had returned for the most part, Takumi glanced over his shoulder, having been stirring the ingredients together in the pot with a wooden spoon, as he heard William speak. He laughed lightly at his question, shaking his head.
"No, it's all mine, William. If I get the okay you'll be able to sleep in the basement once I get that all set up for you. Not really ideal but it's safer at night." He told him, turning his attention back to what he was doing. Maybe he'd see if he had any hotdogs in the fridge. "Anything I can get for you?" He asked him as he finished getting the mac'n'cheese all mixed up, pulling the spoon out and knocking the side of it on the edge of the pot to knock off some of the noodles clinging to it before he set that aside to go grab another pot and fill that with some water before he walked over to the fridge to see if he had any of the hotdogs in there. "If you have a question about anything feel free to ask me. Oh, you can go ahead and turn the tv on to watch something if you want as well. Just have to get everything thrown together, shouldn't take too long to boil the hotdogs and for the mac'n'cheese to finish cooking for lunch." He added, glancing back over to the blond with a smile as he shut the fridge with a package of hotdogs in hand.
He went ahead and walked over to the pot of water, putting four in there before he set the burner on high and then put the package away. "I'd let you stay the night here if I could, but again it's not safe right now."
Even though Takumi had denied that anyone else lived there William was still suspicious of the man. After all he had so many things, at least in comparison to Williams own belongings. It just seemed like so much to take care of on one's own. The blonde let out a slight grumble, as if to question the man further. Yet as soon as the thought was formed, it was gone. Instead focused on the other half of what Takumi had said. That perhaps he could actually live in this home, and with Takumi nonetheless. It easily cheered up the young man. His attention swinging away from the scout and back to the home. He seemed to bounce about as he crossed the large room, going from one place to another. Glancing over the various shelf's and small tables. Wondering about the meaning of each of the objects placed around, all that seemed to be in just the right place. It was all just downright fascinating to the teen. So much so that he had to fight his urge to ask about each and every thing. Luckily too, as neither of them had time for such things. And it likely would have taken several minutes alone to simply explain what a coaster was, and why drinks had to be put on it.
After a few more minutes of ogling things and wandering about William found his stomach beginning to call out for attention. His eyes darted over toward where Takumi had been preparing something for a while. The blonds stomach rumbling along with the sound of boiling water. Gingerly he made his way back to the kitchen. Walking up behind Takumi he watched intently as the scout went from one task to another. Making the whole process seem much simpler than it was.
But it was in that moment that something clicked for the blond. A devious, and rather selfish thought. Even though he had returned to the headquarters, they hadn't really let him in. After all it was Takumi that brought him back to his room. Not only that, but no one had checked up on him all night. And with how quickly Takumi had come to see him, he was almost sure the scout hadn't informed anyone either. It was almost as if he was still missing. "M-maybe…" He began. Taking a seat at the table as he spoke. "Maybe I can stay.." His eyes darted away from Takumi as he contemplated finishing his sentence. After all it was rather uncharacteristic of the blond to try and sneak around. But the idea was just too tempting. "It's not like they know where I am.. a-and you have so much space.."
Takumi had just grabbed a couple of plates for them when the food seemed about done. He turned the burners off and grabbed the wooden spoon, stirring up the cheesy goodness before he went to grab some tongs so he could grab the hotdogs out of the boiling water when William spoke up. He paused in what he was doing to turn towards the blond a little so he could listen to what he wanted to say. He gave the blond a sympathetic look before he turned his attention back over to what he was doing, grabbing a bun and opening it a little so he could grab a hotdog and place it in there before setting it down on a plate - two for each one. After that he scooped out some of the mac'n'cheese and plopped that onto each plate as well. He took the plates and walked over to the table that was just past the small bar counter that separated the dining room from the kitchen, setting the plates down there.
"William...I know you want to stay here, and I know I do have space to let you stay." Well not all that much but hey it wasn't like the blond took up much room in the first place. He gestured for William to take a seat before he walked back into the kitchen to grab them both drinks and brought those to the table, soon leaving again to grab condiments for the hotdogs. "William, it's still not safe here. Not really. And I don't have a place all set up for you yet. There has to be special things put in place in order for you to...remain hidden from things at night. I don't have those here. Not yet at least." He told him as he had also come back with a couple of forks for them to use for the mac'n'cheese.
He sat down in his spot and sighed a little, running a hand through his blue hair. "Believe me, I do want you to stay. I want you to be able to feel safe here and feel at home here as well, but I can't do that until I have the proper protections in place. It's a wonder that you managed to be fine while you were missing." He told him, glancing over to the blond once more before he grabbed the bottle of ketchup and squirted some of the red substance over the meat lightly before he set that down and picked it up to take a bite out of it. "Use your hands with the hotdog, don't worry about making a mess. If you get some on your clothes I can get those washed for you and you can wear something of mine." He told him, soon pointing towards the fork a little. "Use that for the other stuff." He added before he went back to eating his food.
He did feel bad about saying no to William staying the night, but...he couldn't risk his safety like that until the protections were indeed put into place. He did want to be selfish and just keep him for the night, but he'd also never forgive himself if something happened to the blond at his very own home. "I'll still show you around, okay?" He assured him, glancing over to William once more as he gave him a small smile.
William stood there in silence as he waited for Takumi to say something, anything. He knew what he was asking for wasn't something that could just be done. He would feel horrible if Takumi got in any more trouble because of him. And here he was basically asking the scout to kidnap him. Yet he had to try. He bit his lip softly, eyes trained on the scouts back as he continued to cook. Then Takumi paused and looked over his shoulder. And the look he gave caused Williams heart to sink.
William tried his best to put on a straight face as Takumi began to speak. Though William already knew what he was going to say. He felt a little disheartened. The fact that Takumi had denied him did make him sad. Yet it wasn't like he was expecting the scout to say yes. He hadn't gotten permission, or made any preparations, Takumi couldn't just let him stay. But that hadn't stopped the blond from at least trying. Slowly William went to take his seat at the table. Tucking both his hands into his lap as he sat down. "I know but…" He began to say as Takumi continued to wander back and forth from the kitchen to the table. Yet he didn't speak further, as the scout continued to explain how he couldn't stay, at least for the time being.
He let out a deep sigh, realizing that Takumi was right. That there was no need to fight the subject any more. So he resolved to just enjoy their time together for now. His eyes glanced down to the odd combination of things in front of him. Bread, filled with a tube. And noodles of gold. His head cocked slightly as Takumi explained the thing to be a hot dog. Though, William could hardly see any resemblance to any sort of k9. "Dogs?" He reached across the table to grab the ketchup, and proceeded to mirror Takumi. Sending a squirt of the red ooze onto his dog. He raised it to his lips somewhat hesitantly. Unsure of what to expect he decided to just take the plunge. Biting into the dog with a satisfying chomp. His eyes lit up. Much like the waffle he had enjoyed earlier in the morning the hot dog was a completely new experience. It was doughy and meaty, and the strange sauce on top was sweet yet tart and acidic. "And what do you call this?" William said as he picked up his fork and prodded at the Mac and cheese. With the hotdog in one hand he scooped up some of the mac with the fork in the other.
He eyed the cheesy noodles, and figured if he was already trying so much, then why not one more. Yet as soon as he placed the fork in his mouth he almost dropped the hotdog. "This one! I like this one." He said, quickly scarfing down a few more bites.
Not long after and William was sitting there satisfied. His belly full. His plate empty. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing at his stomach.
