Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
a little reply for Yves Levora Okay did I mention that Yves is just too cute for this world--
The smirk on her face is inevitable. The young man's confidence in his abilities to prepare food for others and clean, all while she is sick, just to make her feel better was something to applaud for. From her earlier observations of him, he does not seem to have the highest self-esteem that one could have. But his determination to learn, and add the fact his eagerness to make things better and the confidence of doing household chores is highly an exception to this disposition. Zoraya herself has a high level of experience with it, but she would love to take that as a challenge.
Not now, however. "I am very sure you are." She pats the young man on the shoulder with a smile. "I am pretty sure you and my dear friend Kaylie Silas would be partners in crime in terms with that. She's terrific with chores." Terrific is almost said with sarcasm, and she rolls her eyes while saying so. Because of course, she meant that as a joke. Kaylie is horrible at doing chores. Zoraya does all the work.
Her worries are back to trying to calm the young man down from the possible reminders of the past, all for her mistake of asking who his educational assistant was. He is visibly shaking, enough of a sign that he needs to be taken home to calm himself down. But still, she does not have the courage to tell him that; he still wants to learn more. So she stays and watches, eyebrows furrowed with worry. "Yves--"
She is cut short once she notices he finally calms down, and she sighs in relief. "Goodness, Yves." But when he mentions a name, and wishes for them to be here, she does not say another word. Ah, the joys of wishing someone were there to comfort them and calm them whenever they needed it... it's a thing Zoraya could always relate to once upon a time.
She concludes her descriptions of Heaven and Akari's image ruined by the War of Traitors. Yves asks if they could really go to Heaven someday. It strikes a cord, and she turns to him with a rather uncertain look. "I am... not really sure." She sighs, eyes cast upon the ceiling and refusing to look back down. "It's a mystery, really. Hell and Heaven have made sure not to determine when they will open their Gates. But I'm sure that once they do... all will be in peace and Akari and Volos will be in the right terms." She smiles reassuringly at the young man after that.
"Perhaps one day... war will step off and we can all tour around Heaven someday."
There were moments where Yves wondered if accomplishing his daily chores were enough, but the disorganized young man figured it was better to stick with them. Alas, he adored the notion of assisting Zoraya should she suddenly fall victim to illness and required help. While he believed his skills in a variety of fields below average, the wraith could discover the tiniest shred of confidence in his cooking and cleaning; his brother never chastised him over it. Ultimately, the actions were presumably his only method of assisting his family and perhaps his friends. He accomplished his chores daily, and occasionally when they were unnecessary, but Yves was frightened of forgetting a single job for his beloved brother; the man cared for him nowadays after the callous manner his mother shoved him away. When Zoraya mentioned somebody already being around to "clean", the amnesiac failed to notice the sarcasm. He always struggled to notice even the most sarcastic tones somebody could place into their voice. A small grin touched his face, the young wraith believing wholeheartedly that this mysterious Kaylie Silas was excellent with chores similar to him.
[break][break]
"Really? Is she really nice like you?!" Yves inquired, excited over the idea of having a potential cleaning buddy.

Acquiring friends was still difficult for the amnesiac on account of his shyness, but Zoraya's benevolence resulted in Yves being rather hopeful over the notion. He adored the prospect of gaining more people he could speak to; he even wondered if Phoenix or Gabe would be proud of him. They were the two most significant people in the amnesiac's life, thus their opinions were vital. The wraith would become broken should he discover his brother or precious crush possessed negative remarks about his actions or behaviours, although, he wondered if they thought he was too cowardly. Even mere memories or the thunderous sounds of gunshots resulted in Yves suddenly feeling an intense bout of fear overtake him and sometimes, he began bawling. There were rare occasions where he could recover, although, it was usually when his thoughts could be distracted from those haunting memories. Despite being shaken from his thoughts on his death, Yves kept his knees close, hugging them tight while he wished for Phoenix to suddenly materialize; he wanted to embrace him.
[break][break]
Fortunately, notions of Heaven's splendour kept him distracted from the frightening truth. There were hopes that the gates would open, revealing the two locked dimensions for exploration by the willing. While Yves feared the concept of entering Hell, he was curious about the magnificent appearance of the prestigious Heaven. Quietly, he listened to Zoraya's words, eyes proceeding to remain locked with the ceiling.
[break][break]
"... Do you think Akari will let hell species in again? ... Then Phoenix could come see too," Yves murmured.
[break][break]
There was always hope the fights from the past would cease come the future, especially considering thousands of years had passed since the War of Traitors. Certainly, nobody could hold their anger for that long, or at least Yves believed nobody could. The wraith paused, suddenly fishing his phone from his pocket to check the time. Immediately, his eyes widened as a gasp escaped his mouth.
[break][break]
"I better get home! I need to cook supper before my brother gets home," he stated hastily. "Thank-you, Zory!"
[break][break]
Afterwards, he plucked his notebook and pencil from the pew while running his hands into the depths of his pockets; the wraith always feared the possibility of forgetting something. However, he wished to hurry home before his brother managed to arrive home and find the no food on the table.

Awwww, my sweet little Yves will start blushing again. [break] @zory
In all seriousness, Yves' sudden interest in her friend is something to laugh at, though not in a mocking way. Kaylie has always been an interesting girl, ever since her father had found her. So there's no questioning others' interest in her. The girl has more mysteries than anyone can ever meet the eye... there's always room for others to be curious at what she may be thinking in her head, and what she might do next without saying a word.
Before, friendship had been a strange thing. It was a foreign word, something she does not know the definition of before; but now she'd grown up and met new people, before and now. She'd met her lover, who died in one of the Assembly's bullets a few years after they've been together. Then Kaylie came along, and now they were the best of friends. It's strange yet wonderful to say that friendship changes a person, so much so that they become your entire world and nothing else.
Zoraya chuckles, smiling at the young man. She's never met anyone as nice as Kaylie is, so she can certainly agree. "Yes. Yes she is." Her voice is quiet this time, but still more than glad to give that reply; she leans against the bench and looks away from Yves, her eyes gazing at the ceiling with feeling of contemplation. "She's... the very best friend that I could always ask for. I've been there when she needed me, and she was there when I needed her. We're... the best of friends." She closes her eyes and heaves and sighs softly. "Her head is filled with so many sad things, but to others she does not show it. She's an amazing person, maybe more amazing and nicer than I am, Yves."
They return to the notion of Heaven and Hell opening their gates again, and Zoraya could not help but wonder as well. Those two realms, as well as the Undead, have become a mystery as years had passed. That's what she had read in books. No one has ever been able to set foot there, only those who truly know of its splendor are the angels and demons who were left behind and not allowed to come out of it. But it's a topic open for curiosity, for discussion.
Still, she shrugs as a reply. "Maybe someday, Yves. I can really hope so." Her statement is just as hopeful and filled with anticipation, but the knows the true answer to that will reveal itself in the very far future. "Right about now, we're not really sure what Akari and Volos will do. But I do hope that someday, all will be well and we can all be at peace with each other."
Zoraya sees him take out his phone through the corner of her eye, before hearing him tell her he would have to hurry home. Zoraya blinks, then turns to look outside of the window; it was getting dark, indeed. Zoraya wished to stay sooner than later, however. She would wave at him once he would leave, and smile at him once last time.
"Have a safe trip back home, Yves." She reminds him with the sweetest of smiles. "And you're welcome."
She sits on the bench all by herself and closes her eyes, heaving a soft sigh.
