Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Soothing words were always effective on Yves, his naivety and gullible nature causing him to easily believe a stranger who merely stated everything would be alright. Fortunately, this made it easier for others to calm the emotional young man but also left him an easy victim to more sinister intentions. There was comfort sitting beside Zoraya and hearing her soft voice reassure him that everything would be alright. It resulted in the crying dissipating with the exception of the occasionally congested hiccup that escaped his mouth. A series of sniffles proceeded, the wraith continuing the wipe the liquid off his cheeks, leaving small tear stains on the sleeves of his sweater. There was still redness on his cheeks from the amount of crying he performed moments prior, but gradually he recovered. Extensive and slow breaths shakily left Yves' mouth as he attempted to calm himself further, still quietly listening to the words the dark-haired woman provided. The gentle patting on his shoulder, friendly smiles and kind words were soothing to Yves as he calmed from his momentary upset. The statement towards it merely being speculation and fate being against a possible second War of Traitors easily soothed him.
[break][break]
A few small nods acted as Yves' response to the information, a weak smile touching his lips as he attempted to cease Zoraya's worrying about him. Silence arrived a few moments afterwards, the bashful young man frightened to break it. It proceeded for minutes, the wraith wondering if Zoraya no longer desired his company because of his fragile emotional state. Before he could create a hastily made response to leave, a question entered the air, Yves beaming at the offer. The offer was a comforting hug, which was always endearing to the white-haired man, the small smile providing further comfort.
[break][break]
"If... if it is okay with you," he murmured softly.
[break][break]
Afterwards, the wraith inched closer to the dark-haired woman, prepared to be provided with a friendly hug. There were no thoughts taken to possible romantic implications, Yves' naivety never reaching those possible conclusions. Either way, the bashful man enjoyed Zoraya's company on account of her pleasantly kind demeanour and abilities to reassure him. Perhaps if they became friends, he could possibly request advice or simply have days where he left home rather than spending hours slowly doing chores in a desperate attempt to not run out of things to do.

Good! Love the shy boy and he will cling to you! No worries though, he has Phoenix to protect him. <3 [break] @zory
a little reply for Yves Levora Yves, baby, I love you too much okay? PLEASE PROTECT THIS PRECIOUS BEAN <3
Yves' seems to believe her words, and thus he stops crying; which brings relief to Zoraya, yet also worry for the young man. He could easily become victim of lies and threats if he were to act this way; his reaction to what she said about war only acts as proof of this attitude. But Zoraya does not say anything, and she simply smiles back to the young man who does the same to her, albeit weakly. Zoraya could appreciate this small action of bravery, for that matter.
A few minutes of silence passed, before Zoraya asked him if he would like a hug; as anticipated, he actually agreed to it, and soon he was scooting nearer to the young woman to get that expected embrace. She stops for a moment, looking him over, before smiling and finally wrapping her arms around him in comfort. Only then does she actually realize that Yves is much taller than she is, which makes for quite an... embarrassing thing to say. But she still hugs him, patting his back occasionally.
She falls silent for a few moments while having him in her embrace, before a small sigh escapes her lips. "You are strong inside, Yves. Don't let the world's foolishness betray you." She whispers, and it almost seems like those words hadn't even come from her at all. But if they hadn't come from her very own mouth, then who? She remembered similar words from her father before, but that couldn't have been possible; a child could not have remembered such glorious sentences being told to her to be strong.
But then again... maybe she did remember quite a bit for her to say that.
A few moments later and she would withdraw the hug, before looking at Yves and tilting her head curiously. "Now, where else would you like to go, and what else would you like to know?" She asked, a sweet smile on her face as she says this. It's only right for the tour guide to ask what their tourist would want. She is an acting tour guide to Yves, after all.
There was a pause before their arms wrapped around one another, Yves finding comfort in the warm embrace. A friendly hug went miles to encourage a calm atmosphere inside the stone walls of the cathedral. The wraith embraced her tightly, breath slowly soothing from the close proximity and pleasant nature of the hug. There was a sanction in Zoraya's arms, the white-haired man finding purely comfort while he hugged the young woman. It was different from the numerous times Yves managed to gain the nerve to hug Phoenix, the closeness featured in those hugs oftentimes causing his heart to flutter wildly. This moment was a pair of acquaintances sharing hugs to comfort one another from the frightful speculation of the War of Traitors returning, or to Yves' belief at least. There was a mild awkwardness to the hug, the wraith's rather tall height resulting in a somewhat awkward hug, however, these types of embraces were frequent for Yves since Phoenix was shorter than him; after clinging to Phoenix since meeting him, Yves had long grown adjusted to these strange hugs.
[break][break]
A silence settled while they embraced, the young wraith shortly finding comfort. When the quiet was broken by Zoraya, Yves glanced towards her with wide eyes. The supportive nature of the comment surprised the young man, nobody had ever referred to him as a strong individual; most pointed out his naivety as a weakness. The corners of Yves' lips twitched into a smile, the young wraith tightening the friendly embrace. This woman was sweeter than expected, the white-haired man appreciating the compliment, his lips maintaining a lip-tight grin.
[break][break]
"Thank-you, Zoraya," he murmured softly.
[break][break]
A few minutes passed until both parties withdrew from the hug, Yves jovially grinning. Inquiries proceeded, the young wraith glancing around until his eyes passed over the notebook and pencil clutched tightly in his hands. The white-haired man's eyes widened as he flipped open the notepad, his notes lacking from when he held Zoraya's hand throughout their walk. He stared at the white sheet of paper, eyes fixating on the spaces between the lines as he attempted to think of what needed to be written, although, his memory was against him.
[break][break]
"Um... Zoraya? What did you say before about Akari? ... and what she was like," he mumbled softly, ashamed of his forgetful nature.
[break][break]
There were plenty of moments where Yves got distracted and forgot necessary information which resulted in a handful of shameful moments where he struggled to remember exactly what he was doing. He wished he wrote everything he needed to know down in a book...

a little reply for Yves Levora Finally! Replied! <3
It's pitiful to see someone else in such a condition, someone unable to control their fear of such things that they are not able to balance their emotions as well. Zoraya feels like crying at certain situations sometimes, but she is able to control emotions more than anything else. She knows others are not the same. That's why she is there to support. She loves comforting others, telling them it's alright and everything would be fine. She's done this to her best friend, the pessimistic Kaylie who mostly believes nothing good will ever happen to her. Now, today, she is doing it to Yves.
It gives her a peace of mind, and she is satisfied to know she is successful in her task at supporting.
The young man thanks her, and she simply nods, withdrawing from the hug after. Zory finds herself asking if he would like to go somewhere else, as well as other concerns and questions that he may have in mind; she is always happy to attend to him. She's assigned herself as his tour guide, after all. It's a job she's assigned to herself, only just as important as being an agent for the TRS.
Sure enough, Yves asks her what she had said about Akari before, and what she was like. Well, she doesn't expect to repeat herself once more; but she's mostly ashamed at herself for forgetting what she had said. She keeps up a facade, though, and she nods in understanding, looking at Akari with a soft smile.
"Like said... she's the ruler of the Heavens, considered the kindest soul everyone will ever know." Too be honest, she could scoff all day at those words. She's one of the major factors of the War of Traitors, after all. "She's holy, and very well respected, a great leader of the heavenly beings under her rule. She is a woman always bathed with bright light, and nothing, almost absolutely nothing, could stand in the way of her holiness."
The darkened thoughts from an overactive imagination were promptly soothed, allowing for Yves to display a small smile, albeit, sheepish from his forgetfulness. Only a few minutes prior had Zoraya provided information about the goddess, Akari, which could assist in his lessons about prior to the War of Traitors. Gathering knowledge about the gods and managing to remember it was required in these types of situations, especially since it provided Yves with the opportunity to impress his educational assistant. The notion of accomplishing the prestigious task of impressing an intellectual mind was exciting to Yves. While the wraith was not completely ignorant, he still possessed difficulty in learning after his death. Amnesia had set him behind his peers and the settling anxiety of never catching up always worsened the issue. History was fairly simple, fortunately, although, he especially struggled in subjects like math where remembering certain formulas was significant. When Zoraya politely repeated herself, Yves began neatly printing sentences onto the notepad.
[break][break]
Each letter was delicately written, the white-haired man taking additional care to assure his writing was legible. A broad grin touched his lips once everything was written down, the young man pleased with the capability of his printing.
[break][break]
“Thank-you,” he murmured softly.
[break][break]
There was a pause as Yves glanced towards the statue. The divine goddess’ likeness was carved into stone, beautiful and detailed. Carefully, the wraith set his notepad and pencil onto his lap before fishing his phone out of his pocket to take a picture. He took an amateur photo, but nonetheless grinned in delight after bringing up the statue. After a few moments, he glanced around curiously at their location.
[break][break]
“Do most churches to Akari look like this?” Yves inquired.
[break][break]
Never had the young man travelled beyond Lorsette’s borders since his amnesia. At home, he occupied himself with chores and homework and seldom researched anything not related to the topics. It left his mind void of experience, making the young man both naive and impressionable.

a little reply for Yves Levora Finally! Replied! <3
As she shares more of her knowledge to the young man, she notices him writing down on the notepad he brought with him, although admittedly Zoraya almost ignored its very presence until now. She also almost fails to remember that Yves is a student who wants to learn more, particularly about Akari. It's a good technique, Zoraya thinks, taking down notes. She's always done that whenever she needs to remember things, herself. But then again, she also finds his very topic of interest strange. Why learn more about Akari, of all things? Is it a school project? She does not have the right to question him over the matter, however, and instead decided to keep quiet and leave him to his devices.
( and she does leave him to his devices; it's almost funny to imagine her thinking about such thing when it's also perfect timing for Yves to take out his phone after he is done writing to take a picture of Akari; even though it's not allowed, they were the only ones in the room, so it's perfectly fine )
The young man thanks her then, and she nods as a response. "You're welcome, Yves. I'm happy to assist."
Later on, silence almost engulfs the entire cathedral, had it not been for Yves suddenly asking her another question again. She hums thoughtfully, grazing a finger through her chin. "Hmm... I can't remember..." She mumbles to herself, looking at the sitting statue of Akari just a few footsteps nearby. Admittedly, she hasn't gone to other cathedrals dedicated to the goddess before (just this one in Lorsette), but search through images in the internet and you already have the answers to such questions. She doesn't remember much about the information, but there is a gloomy memory in her mind about it.
"Ah. That's right." She finally finds the words, and her memory is back to normal. "Yes, she does look the same in most cathedrals. Admittedly, I've never gone to the other cathedrals around the world except this one here in Lorsette, but she does look the same if you look through the pictures." She suddenly giggles as she remembers the different positions Akari is forced to be in for the statues. "There are different poses, though. And too be honest, some make her look ridiculous."
A broad grin was plastered on Yves’ face as he stared at the carefully etched words written in grey led. There was a limited amount of skills the young wraith possessed after the incident, but fortunately, he was granted with a beautiful writing. Countless times had resulted in a pleasant compliment being provided by his educational assistant, thus the white-haired man felt a hint of pride over his capability. After a few moments, Yves' attention returned to Zoraya, excitement beaming in his red eyes. The dark-haired woman's pleasant attitude made learning enjoyable for the young student keen on impressing his educational assistant. There were a plethora of reputable students Yves met at Lorsette College that insisted impressing the professors to be a significant task, although, the young wraith was merely being provided lessons to progress him to a high school education. The world had developed to require a high school education for a variety of jobs, making it a necessity to obtain or the individual would face future problems.
[break][break]
The final conclusion was left entirely open because of Yves’ sensitivity to notions of war, violence and general gore; he could hardly watch an action movie without suddenly being frightened. Naivety and innocence painted the canvas of how the young wraith believed everything would turn out. He envisioned green fields and a more diplomatic pursuit of peace through conversation rather than the clashing of swords. The corners of Yves’ lips perked up higher at the notion since it meant Phoenix, his brother and everyone else would be safe. The pleasant ‘you’re welcome’ encouraged the white-haired man to proceed with asking questions since Zoraya appeared capable to answer them. There was a bountiful amount of information the dark-haired woman was providing about Akari. After a brief pause, the wraith giving a small frown when Zoraya stayed she could not remember. While Yves was saddened over his friend knowing the misfortune of forgetfulness considering it could be a hefty burden.
[break][break]
After a few moments, the wraith’s expression brightened when Zoraya suddenly claimed she remembered. Gleefully, Yves began carefully taking down the notes as the dark-haired woman provided information about the statues.
[break][break]
“I wonder how many poses she has,” Yves murmured quietly as he wrote.
[break][break]
The young man doubted Zoraya would have a proper answer, which was understandable. Thus, the notion was left as a curious pondering as Yves fantasized over the variety of poses the god had been given.

Yves still seems eager to learn, and she complies, sharing more and more information to the young man as she watches him take notes. Yves is a capable student and it's an undeniable fact; his determination to learn more despite the lack of information that would satisfy his questions is all evident. Even with his rather naive disposition and the dangerous tendency to fall victim for lies and wrong information, this one is still an admirable student to look up to and learn from.
She hears him wonder to himself on how many other poses the statues of Akari may have, and she bites her lower lip to try not to laugh; scavenging through the pictures Google so generously provided for viewing never fails to make her roll down on the floor while letting out hysterical laughter. They were weird that way. No way anyone could ever stand not being able to laugh out loud without so much as sparing the images a look.
"...Yves." She begins with a smirk, before throwing her arms hysterically behind her and staying that way as if she had been chased by a wild animal, a panicked look on her face. She stays like that for a few minutes, before finally ending up laughing at her own portrayal of one of the funniest poses she had seen because of the internet's disgusting craftiness. "Yes, Yves, one time Akari was chased by a giant boar, and she looked exactly like what I did earlier." She giggles and holds her stomach to try to stop herself. But the goddess' panicked expression always makes her crack up; she doesn't even know why she isn't called the goddess of comedy for that.
"Here, here." She pokes the young man, before going back to her sick portrayals. She holds both cheeks tightly with two fingers, forcing her mouth open; she is feeding herself with her other hand, holding an invisible spoon. "Thith, Yveth, ith how she feeths herfelf." She points out, letting go of her mouth and laughing in the process. "Akari loves abusing herself whenever she's eating, that's all I have to say." She lets out the loudest laugh she can this time, unable to control herself any longer.
There was excitement in the personal study Yves conducted in an attempt to impress his educational assistant, albeit, with some alterations to another sobbing incident. Due to his naive and gullible nature, it proceeded to work smoothly as they conversed; the white-haired man was never commended for having expansive intellect. While his problem-solving capabilities were rather average, his forgetfulness made tests difficult; only tasks related to chores truly remained undying in Yves' faulty memory after accomplishing them for endless days. The dark-haired angel's company made the procedure enjoyable for the young wraith. Her seemingly neverending kindness during their initial resulted in Yves discovering comfort. These were the behaviours the amnesiac to place his trust hastily with Zoraya who could hopefully maintain pure intentions. A soft smile remained on Yves' face as he thought about cheerfully informing Phoenix and Gabe about the kindly woman he met in the cathedral. The uttering of his name earned the young wraith's attention, his grey eyes staring through the red contact lenses at Zoraya. When her arms suddenly went into the air as a panicked expression touched her features, Yves gasped.
[break][break]
The gullible young man immediately wondered if perhaps he did something to perturb the benevolent woman, yet, the last sentence stated was a mere pondering. Minutes passed in silence, the wraith watching with a perplexed and slightly fearful expression.
[break][break]
"... Zory? Are you okay?" Yves inquired. "Do you need a doctor?! The hospital in nearby, I can take you there!"
[break][break]
The young wraith hastily flung himself into concern, his thoughts believing an ailment managed to plague Zoraya during their conversation. Before Yves could move to get assistance until the explanation was provided. There was a pause before the corners of his lips twitched up into a smile, a small giggle leaving his throat. The notion of Akari being chased by a boar was an amusing idea. When poked, the wraith glanced back towards his company while she proceeded to make jokes about Akari and her hunting habits. Another series of small giggles escaped Yves' mouth, the white-haired man slightly less amused by the notion.
[break][break]
"Is that one of the poses?" He asked with a giggle.
[break][break]
Should there be a similar pose, the wraith desired to search up the statue for a curious peek. Everything about the idea amused him, thus Yves' curious piqued towards the possibility.

a little reply for Yves Levora Zoraya, behave. Sweet Yves does not need to know more about how crazy you are.
Akari's poses remind her of someone more phenomenal; the man most important to her than anyone she had ever met. She remembered her father getting stuck in the most awkward of poses, and would often make her laugh as a child through them. Maybe she'd gotten her quirky sense of humor from him. Helios Friyar is a remarkable man, and a funny one as well.
At first she thinks Yves had found her weird once she shows him her own version of Akari's various positions. Of course she's weird, why would anyone think her otherwise? But it's only then 'til they exchange expressions once Yves suddenly cries out, frantically asking if she was sick and if she needed a doctor. She blinks multiple times at this, before a laughing smile makes itself evident on her face.
"Goodness! Yves, no! I'm not sick at all!" She manages to explain to him while holding out her laughter, clutching onto her stomach as it proceeds to produce pain. "But those poses make you sick with laughter, don't they?" She giggles along with the now-laughing Yves, and she covers her mouth with a fist. "Akari sure is a funny goddess!"
He asks if the latest pose he had shown her was indeed one of them, and she manages to stifle her laughter with a nod. "Yes it is. There's a statue of it somewhere." She explains, then sighs with relief as she leans against the bench, staring up at the ceiling. "Goodness, looking at those statues is just too much fun."
Then she turns to them with a raised eyebrow. "Does her statues -- funny as they are -- also help in your study?" Too be honest, she's never thought comedy would help in Yves' education, but still, it was worth meeting the funny side of the goddess of the heavens herself.
There were numerous times where Yves' naivety displayed itself over the course of a single day. After losing a plethora of his earliest memories, the amnesiac was vulnerable and gullible, resulting in him easily getting the wrong impression, being tricked or created difficult in basic comprehension on occasion. The ramifications of losing the entirety of his memories left the white-haired wraith confused, frightened and struggling through life, furthermore, the lurking shadow of the war between Zeredah and the TRS brought fears into daily living. Due to the effects of amnesia, Yves' judgement occasionally became cloudy with naive thoughts of unnecessary and misplaced concern. These new connections were important to the wraith, their significance being evident with the intense care he placed for even mere acquaintances. Relief crossed the amnesiac's expression when Zoraya stated everything was alright and she was accomplishing the poses to spark laughter. These were the moments where his fretting went beyond. Sarcasm tended to get similar responses, Yves lacking the ability to detect it unless somebody else managed to point it out.
[break][break]
A soft smile breached the wraith's face when Zoraya began laughing, small giggles escaping his lips. The dark-haired woman was interesting and amusing for the amnesiac.
[break][break]
"Yeah, they are," his quiet voice responded. "I'm glad you aren't sick though."
[break][break]
The explanation provided about the varying poses throughout the churches in the world were definitely interesting to the young wraith. There was a moment to imagine the more humourous alongside the grand statues displaying Akari in all her excellence. In the fictionally shows Yves watched, there were poses captured of great heroes, thus he imagined the Goddess of Heaven displaying those heroic poses. A chivalrous pose as locks of hair fell over her shoulders, the goddess standing tall on a block of stone while her wings stretched out towards the sky. Her face would be stern, her hands softly resting on the pommel of a sword while the tip remained buried into the ground. She would be a gloriously standing above citizens, her pose demanding authority and realistic as though she could suddenly move- the wraith's imagination was interrupted when Zoraya spoke. There was a slight jump when Yves returned to reality, his red eyes glancing towards his company before providing a small, sheepish smile.
[break][break]
"I think so... I am just trying to get ahead in my study," Yves' voice maintained a soft bashfulness. "I want to impress my educational assistant."
[break][break]
The wraith remained unaware of the possible thoughts he could create by mentioning educational assistant in a sentence formulated to make them sound like the teacher. In Yves' eyes, the EA frequently possessed the role of teacher considering they taught the material and worked towards mending his education. They wanted him to remember, or to provide the tools needed to survive in the real world, although, they tended to assist those who struggled with the material. While they would occasionally be seen answering questions around the classroom, another purpose was to fetch students who needed assistance with the material for varying reasons; medical or otherwise.

a little reply for Yves Levora Zoraya, behave. Sweet Yves does not need to know more about how crazy you are.
She had thought it would only be for the laughs. She almost could not believe that such topics are also quite fundamental for one's study of history. But funny as they are, the statues do try to portray most of the stories behind the goddess Akari. Some tell of when she was hunting and was chased down by a boar, some with her teaching and carrying children around, and some portray her as a general with a fleet of angel warriors by her side. Akari is a goddess with more than one occupation: a teacher, a soldier, and a hunter.
...And also a comedian, though Zoraya does not dare mention that.
A chuckle escapes her lips at Yves' assumptions of her condition. "I'm certainly glad I'm not. Otherwise I wouldn't be here right now to guide you around."
But the significance of the statues, whether in any lesson taught to students, still remains a mystery for the angel. What exactly is there to learn? History is important yes, but people do not know much about how Akari exactly lived. There are no documentations for it. If there would have been ancient angels loitering around the world, if they were to be asked, they would either not answer, lie about it, or shrug their shoulders. Sometimes Zoraya could only wonder if stories have been made just to impress historians and teachers. That certainly would not be interesting.
But she manages to still smile and turn her head to the young man. The prominent student. "Ah, is that so. Also, if I may, who is this educational assistant you speak of?" It's certainly a topic that holds much interest, but she respects it if he chooses not to answer. There is privacy in every person and it should always be observed. Of course, she knows she is not the educational assistant he is talking about. She is simply a tour guide who teaches him about the cathedral and Akari under his request, nothing more. Though she liked to imagine it otherwise.
The whole cathedral falls into silence, and she sighs and leans against the church bench. "...Do you ever wonder what really happens up there?" She asks, to no one in particular. Heaven is a mystery. So is Hell and the underworld. But Earth is... just like all of them. Sometimes Zoraya wanted to know more. But she couldn't.
There was an alluring aspect to learning about Akari for Yves, considering the goddess appeared to be rather interesting. She was definitely somebody to research should time arrive for a possible paper analysis on his learning in terms of the War of Traitors. Alas, there were still frightful elements to Akari considering her affiliations, the naive wraith believed if she returned everything would be fine; Zoraya assured him. When he inquired about the possibility of the war proceeding after thousands of years of being dormant, her verdict was no. Naturally, the gullible man refused to question Zoraya’s explanation when she stated Akari and Volos would not go to war. Thus, the white-haired man’s thoughts delved into what Akari would be like considering the stories told about her; the ones Zoraya informed him of. A broad grin stretched across Yves' lips as the dark-haired woman stated she was glad to not have fallen ill. She was among the more pleasant to interact with and considering her willingness to teach him, Yves wished her only positivity.
[break][break]
There was a pause as Yves glanced towards his lap before his grin widened, eyes beaming joyfully as his gaze flitted back to Zoraya. Should she get sick, there was something he could do to repay the kindness she displayed.
[break][break]
"Zory, if you ever get sick, I promise I will come to visit you and make you feel better," he gleefully promised before giggling. "I can bring stories of Akari so you can laugh at some."
[break][break]
The grin remained prominent on Yves' face, the young man swinging his feet while he sat on the pew, making his excitement evident. There was a child-likeness to his actions, the youthful smile alongside the cheerful kicking of his feet; he was obviously enjoying Zoraya's company. These moments were rarely quickly developed, but the woman's benevolence allowed Yves to hastily find comfort around her. The inquiry about his educational assistant caused the wraith's motions to slow until his legs remained still as he thought about the woman who helped him with his studies.
[break][break]
"Mrs. Kordat? She's really nice and helps me with my work... since... the... um..." Suddenly, Yves' voice silenced as subtle quiver engulfed the white-haired man.
[break][break]
There was a bang, then darkness, then monotone, until finally, he breathed again. Those memories, brief and vague always brought pangs of fear in Yves mind. Merely thinking about the loud bang of fire and metal accompanied by a chorus of screams resulted in his hairs standing on end while his hands shook. An extensive breath escaped the wraith's lips as he slowly wrapped his arms around himself, his knees coming up to balance on the edge of the pew. He hated thinking about the thunderous noise of gunfire with those shrill, frightened screams. As sound dissipated and sound enveloped the cathedral, Yves spared the minutes to soothe himself. Quietly, he rubbed the upper portions of his arms while he proceeded taking deep breaths in before slowly releasing them; the method was taught to assist Yves in socially stressful situations. The white-haired man searched the interior, attempting to find something calming to fixate on until Zoraya spoke another question. Briefly, Yves' eyes flitted towards her before his gaze gradually trailed up to the cathedral ceiling.
[break][break]
"... You mean in Heaven?" He inquired quietly. "... Yeah... I wonder what it could look like now and what everyone is like."
[break][break]
The thought was endearing to ponder considering the description of Heaven from the days prior to the War of Traitors. A graceful city in a dimension of clouds and floating islands. The entire place was bathed in light and beauty, some nymphs and shifters claiming Heaven to have gorgeous forests; facts passed down through their family. The descriptions resulted in Yves hoping perhaps one day, he would gain the opportunity to visit Heaven.

Zoraya is not a woman of childishness. Though her current disposition makes this side quite evident, she is still a woman of mature standing, yet with rather young standards of living. But to have herself become stoic in the presence of a rather childish yet intelligent stranger is inappropriate. She chuckles once Yves proposes he will visit her and tell her stories of Akari if ever she gets sick. The angel brushes a hand in front of her in a dismissive manner, but she is still laughing. "That would rarely ever happen to me. But if I do, I'll keep your word on that."
Her question on his educational assistant seems to take a toll on her. At first, he does give an answer, a woman named Mrs. Kordat... if she were to ever meet this woman she would be sure to congratulate her for this young man's standing and intelligence. But suddenly, he falls silent, and Zoraya could see him shivering and his hands shaking. She blinks, almost uncertain with what to do; at the same time, she is confused and worried. Whatever happened to him? "Yves, are you alright?" Is the very first question that comes to mind, and she pats his shoulder to get his attention. Distracting him from possible troubles is better. Zory wished she never brought that up, but it was too late.
They then talk about Heaven; she is the first to wonder what really is up there, and Yves does seem to wonder himself. She turns to him and smiles, then back to staring at the ceiling again. Heaven seemed like a really wonderful place... it's said that the gates are all adorned with jewels and wonderful engravings of gold, and the city above is prosperous and not dying. People are happy to live under Akari's reign. She is viewed as a rightful ruler, someone who cares for her people before herself.
Too bad the War of Traitors had taken a toll on her and her reputation.
Zoraya dares not say that out loud, as she is next to a man who cannot handle such horrifying events again. So she sighs and continues to daydream, all the while, speaking. "They say Heaven is a wonderful place. Could we have an opportunity to go up there?" The question is a fleeting possibility, but is quite impossible to even reach. "The people there loved how they lived. They have very peaceful lives and there is no discrimination. There is only good, only beauty... and in the center of it all, Akari. She made those all possible."
But then, she closes her eyes and sighs, shaking her head. "But the War of Traitors destroyed this prosperity. And it certainly destroyed the good image of Akari."
A soft grin touched Yves' face when Zoraya stated she rarely got sick. Hearing the statement was reassuring to the young wraith considering he hated witnessing his friends or family fall victim to illness. Those were always upsetting circumstances to the white-haired man, although, should they occurred he was determined to place effort into assisting with their healing cycle. This would likely consist of accomplishing daily chores, cooking meals and generally visiting to avoid his sick friend becoming bored; when it arrived at doing benevolent things for a sick individual, Yves oftentimes stuck with the jobs expected of a housewife. He possessed better cooking and cleaning skills as opposed to anything else, even going lengths to enjoy doing the basic chores most people found rather boring. Those were simpler accomplishments which made the life of some individuals plenty easier as a result; it was one less worry on the mind. Furthermore, he consistently did housework in the small house him and his brother lived in to relieve a burden from Gabe's (Percival) shoulders.

"Still, I can come help! I could clean or cook to make you feel better, then you don't have to worry about," Yves stated cheerfully. "I am really good at that."
[break][break]
Despite cleaning being a basic chore taught to a majority of people, Yves possessed a certain pride about his capabilities in it; supposedly, his self-conscious fears of doing something wrong fueled a desire for perfection somewhere. While he was oddly disorganized, he could easily clean and cook for others. There was always a peculiar trance which consumed Yves' consciousness whenever his thoughts drifted towards his ambiguous death years ago. The trembling of his hands proceeded, the loud gunshot repeating consistently in his head on an endless loop as his thoughts reminded him of his last moments. Eventually, it drifted to the morgue where he was trapped in that frightening metal box where cold surrounded him, stinging his freshly awakened body. The question was left unanswered, the amnesiac jumping when Zoraya's hand softly touched his shoulder, a quiet gasp escaping his mouth. His hands balled, coming to his chest as his gaze shifted towards the dark-haired woman he was in the company of, his body relaxing afterwards.

Slowly, his arms lowered as his expression softened to soothed, dropping any notes of fear which touched. These were rare occasions, but nonetheless, Yves struggled to converse over the incident.
[break][break]
"I'm fine," he murmured quietly. "... I wish Phoenix was here..."
[break][break]
He glanced away after providing the few words, eyes locking on the floor of the cathedral. There was a desire for Phoenix's comfort, to hide in his embrace and feel the calming effects of his company. There was silence for a few moments until their conversation about Heaven began, the wraith endlessly curious about the location. The description Zoraya provided of the beautiful dimension resulted in the white-haired man's eyes glancing towards the high-ceiling of the cathedral.
[break][break]
"Zoraya? Can... can we see Heaven one day?" He inquired in a soft tone.
[break][break]
Despite the frightful occurrences of the War of Traitors, Yves still desired to walk the paths of Heavens and explore its marvellous splendour. The wraith hoped that should Heaven open its doors, that they allow Hell species to enter so he could tour around with his precious hellhound friend, Phoenix.
