Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

she was lost in a daze, her focus remained on her phone. she continued to mess with it. it was still on, so that was something. at the moment it didn't seem like she needed to put it in rice or anything of the sort. it was best she put her phone away, lest she stop in the middle of the sidewalk and risk getting bumped into again. she slipped it into her coat pocket and continued to her next destination.
she took a couple more steps before stopping and moving out of the way. the whole cell phone thing really messed her up. she couldn't remember what her plans were going to be. she knew she should of written this down. she figured she would be fine, but yet here she was struggling to come up with something. besides presents and actually finding them was there a certain place she wanted to look?
her thoughts were soon interrupted when she heard her name being called out. she quickly turned around and she would of missed him in the crowd had he not been standing right in front of her. he wasn't who she was expecting. she stared back at him, unable to open her mouth. words were clearly failing her, just as the rest of her body was.
she couldn't believe after all this time, here was her dad. a wave of relief washed over her. he had returned. he always promised he would and here he was. the tears stung her eyes and started to blur her vision. she forced herself to move closer to him to wrap him up into a hug. she wanted to hold on and not let go."dad!"she managed to choke out before she continued to cry.

magnolia had stopped to window shop a few times. she wasn't sure if she should go in just yet. which was silly of her because that was the whole reason she was out here. to do a bit of christmas shopping and of course to take in all the pretty christmas lights and decor. it was better then being stuck at home by herself.
as each day passed, she wished she would of gone with her mother. the business would of been fine without her. it was silly of her to think the only reason she stayed behind was because she was a workaholic. she felt guilty, even more so when she stopped receiving messages from her mom. at any time she could of asked her mother to wait for her. though really what help would she of been? if anything she probably would of held her mother back.
she wished she could be as strong as her mother and her father. wiping at the tears that were forming she continued to walk. this wasn't the time nor the place to cry. as weak as she though herself to be, she was strong enough not to cry in public. her phone buzzed in the pocket of her coat and she quick pulled it out. she sighed softly as she looked at her phone for what seemed like the hundredth time. she was expecting a message from her mother, but every time it wasn't her.
she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, continuing to stare down at her phone. it was only a matter of time before someone would bump into her. what was she expecting to happen. the person seemed to be in a rush, at had at least turned to look at her and shout an apology. she bent down to pick up her phone, in the collision she had accidentally dropped it. she dusted off the snow as she continued to walk. hopefully it wasn't damaged, she hadn't been planning on purchasing a new phone during this outing.

his comments were confusing and why wouldn't they be. after all he knew something that she didn't. it seemed they had arrived to their destination and no wonder he had been so quiet about this. had she known this was were they were headed she would of politely declined. she didn't mind cars, but it wasn't exactly her thing.
she nodded as he spoke. she held the helmet in her hands inspecting it before responding."my turn for what?"clearly it still hadn't clicked. though soon she would get answer to her question. she slipped the helmet on as kai made his way to the track. surely he wasn't expecting her to drive?
she was getting used to his driving, though nothing could of prepared her for this. as soon as the signal was given they were off. she clutched onto the seat, not that it would help. this was way faster then she had imagined. she gasped softly as he slide, closing her eyes. hoping that would help a bit. she didn't dare open them until this was over.
what was only a matter of minutes it felt like an eternity to her. the car slowed to a stop and kai exclaimed it was her turn. he was joking right? she couldn't move from her position. even after he had gotten out and opened the door for her, she remained glued to her stop. she managed to shake her head in response.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she sighed softly as she looked at her phone for what seemed like the hundredth time. it had been a month or so since her mother had left. it had been a bittersweet reunion, when she had first arrived. she wished her mother would of told her sooner, but she didn't blame her. she was just looking out for magnolia. her mother would do whatever she could to protect her. honestly though, what could she have done? gone out and searched for him? she didn't even know where to start looking.
it was an over all frustration situation. she knew the trs were doing whatever they could. she just wished they would of had something to go off. it had been a few weeks after her mother had arrived that she also wanted to set off and go search for her father. she wanted to go along, but she knew she would be no help. if anything she probably would of held her mother back.
she had said their goodbyes and she sadly watched her mother go off on her own. she had promised to keep in contact and she had been. then it just went silent. there wasn't a day that would go by that she wouldn't check her messages. she sent at least one per day. seeing as she hadn't received a response. she tried to remain hopefully. her parents could take care of themselves, but that didn't make her any less worried.
it was kind of depressing. every christmas she would go home and spend it with her family. now this year, it wouldn't be the same. she would be spending it alone. she had at least gone through the motions of decorating and putting the tree up. she had bought a few things for her mother and father. hoping eventually she would be able to give the presents to them in person.
right now she was a home, curled up on the couch. cup of tea in hand, but no matter how much she tried to distract herself. her thoughts kept going back to her parents and how helpless she felt. it was still early enough to go out. perhaps a walk would do her some good? it was better then sitting at home being plagued by her thoughts.
maybe she could do a little bit of shopping too. she placed her tea cup in the kitchen and started getting dressed to bare the cold weather outside. grabbing her keys and her bag, she was off. she wasn't planning on buying anything big. so walking to the shops would be just fine. it was cold out, but at least there was no wind.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

magnolia looked at him curiously trying to think of what it could be. if it wasn't watching movies or dinner? what else did he have planned?"were not going to do some more running are we? i mean at least this time i'm wearing pants, but the shoes...are not made for running."she said with a soft laugh.
"you sure you want me to cook for you? i don't if i'll be as good as a chef, but i'll try my best."she told him with a smile. while she was more skilled with pastries, she wasn't too bad at cooking other kinds of foods. well with that way that kai it, she might have to do any cooking at all. maybe she could do like salad or something.
"we do? you're not going to tell me are you?"he was pretty adamant about saying how it was going to be a surprise."do i get a hint at least?"she asked hopeful. though even if she did get a hint would she be able to guess? she had been a bit distracted by her thoughts to hear him shout."wait you got a head start."she said with a laugh before she started to quicken her pace. of course she really wasn't going that fast in the first place. when she reached he car she slide inside."are you that exicted to get to this surprise?"

magnolia purchased her movies before following kai, not too far behind out of the store. he has asked her what she wanted to do next. she really wasn't sure. were they still going to go to other stores in the mall? though she had suggested watching one of the movies. she thought he had planned the whole day for them. was he quizzing her or something?
it seemed like the movie option was out."oh? what's the surprise?"she asked curiously."no, i don't mind. i'm actually not hungry at the moment and it is a little early for dinner."she laughed softly."you're going to let me cook dinner? i don't mind where we go."it seemed like his disguise had been working so far. so the fear of being followed was less.
she shook her head."no, it's alright. i'm ready to go if you are. okay that's fine. i don't have anywhere else to be."she told him with a nod."sure, why not."she said with a smile. she was curious to see where they were going. she followed him towards the exit. wondering what kind of place this was. she nodded as he spoke a little bit more about it."once a month. you're not going to tell me what this place is are you?"
