Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

she sighed softly as she looked at her phone for what seemed like the hundredth time. it had been a month or so since her mother had left. it had been a bittersweet reunion, when she had first arrived. she wished her mother would of told her sooner, but she didn't blame her. she was just looking out for magnolia. her mother would do whatever she could to protect her. honestly though, what could she have done? gone out and searched for him? she didn't even know where to start looking.
it was an over all frustration situation. she knew the trs were doing whatever they could. she just wished they would of had something to go off. it had been a few weeks after her mother had arrived that she also wanted to set off and go search for her father. she wanted to go along, but she knew she would be no help. if anything she probably would of held her mother back.
she had said their goodbyes and she sadly watched her mother go off on her own. she had promised to keep in contact and she had been. then it just went silent. there wasn't a day that would go by that she wouldn't check her messages. she sent at least one per day. seeing as she hadn't received a response. she tried to remain hopefully. her parents could take care of themselves, but that didn't make her any less worried.
it was kind of depressing. every christmas she would go home and spend it with her family. now this year, it wouldn't be the same. she would be spending it alone. she had at least gone through the motions of decorating and putting the tree up. she had bought a few things for her mother and father. hoping eventually she would be able to give the presents to them in person.
right now she was a home, curled up on the couch. cup of tea in hand, but no matter how much she tried to distract herself. her thoughts kept going back to her parents and how helpless she felt. it was still early enough to go out. perhaps a walk would do her some good? it was better then sitting at home being plagued by her thoughts.
maybe she could do a little bit of shopping too. she placed her tea cup in the kitchen and started getting dressed to bare the cold weather outside. grabbing her keys and her bag, she was off. she wasn't planning on buying anything big. so walking to the shops would be just fine. it was cold out, but at least there was no wind.

[attr="class","macbethbody"]Cruel was the world for the bitterness commited in the frigid norths of the Canadian territories. A particularly grueling fight wore down a tiresome warrior, his body sore and abandoned amidst the fields of snow and ice. Foolish enemies never sought him out. A yeti capable of surviving the crippling colds of a malicious, albeit, gorgeous arctic scene. Then again, the value of spending further time in the harsh, blizzardy conditions would have been equally as foolish. If anything, the hunter renowned as The Glacier and officially monikered as Macbeth Okorie survived because of the turbulent blizzard raging across the battlefield that day.
[break][break]
The contributor to his survival, but furthermore, his delayed return. Through the stinging needles of blowing snow, Macbeth had travelled to discover his home overran with Assembly of Phantoms members and his parents the ultimate victors. In a single day, his home was ripped from his hands, taken with frightful haste. Options became limited and the hunter was forced into a circumstance of travelling while evading Assembly forces. He survived off the land, working towards a goal as memories of family flooded his mind.
[break][break]
Upon the footsteps of age, his daughter had retreated to Lorsette, Newfoundland for her college education. Those memories became a monument, a consistent reminder that not everything was lost. Thus through the snow, he trudged, down the hills and by the coast. He snuck into a travelling vessel and ended up in the province his daughter resided in. Weary from travel and persevering through weather conditions, the travel had continued. A hardened man pushed forward because of his stubborn wish to reunite with his family. When he managed, discerning the location and status of Zera would become easier and allow him to avoid bringing her into the realm of consequence.
[break][break]
If she was a hostage to AP? The haunting thought would be greeted with an iron resolve to join the troops connected to the rescue efforts. However, Macbeth held faith in the woman he married and hoped she retreated to their daughter's stead. The paramount peril in remaining in their home was evident, and the yeti prayed for the best. He travelled on a hope, a prayer that Zera played her cards smart and they would reunite come the future. As the late afternoon of another day arrived, Macbeth's red hues would lay on the shining city where he hoped he would his wife would be alongside their daughter.
[break][break]
Breath escaped his lips in faint whisps as he ventured down from the wilderness. The dark-haired man, exhausted and dressed in his TRS mandated uniform was an odd sight. Compared to the Newfoundland uniforms, Macbeth's held a notable thickness for weather resilience alongside other subtle changes. Though his designated location was shown with a small, provincial pin he kept that clung desperately to his uniform. His shoulders were slumped as he shuffled into Lorsette, lost, alone and weak from his travels.
[break][break]
People noticed him, but Macbeth in his stubbornness pushed by and kept moving. He needed to find Magnolia and Zera... at this rate, it was required. Somewhat lost between the buildings, by accident Macbeth had discovered himself in the shopping district. A ghost covered in snow, red eyes searching for the blue-haired treasures he called family... He needed to find them.

magnolia had stopped to window shop a few times. she wasn't sure if she should go in just yet. which was silly of her because that was the whole reason she was out here. to do a bit of christmas shopping and of course to take in all the pretty christmas lights and decor. it was better then being stuck at home by herself.
as each day passed, she wished she would of gone with her mother. the business would of been fine without her. it was silly of her to think the only reason she stayed behind was because she was a workaholic. she felt guilty, even more so when she stopped receiving messages from her mom. at any time she could of asked her mother to wait for her. though really what help would she of been? if anything she probably would of held her mother back.
she wished she could be as strong as her mother and her father. wiping at the tears that were forming she continued to walk. this wasn't the time nor the place to cry. as weak as she though herself to be, she was strong enough not to cry in public. her phone buzzed in the pocket of her coat and she quick pulled it out. she sighed softly as she looked at her phone for what seemed like the hundredth time. she was expecting a message from her mother, but every time it wasn't her.
she stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, continuing to stare down at her phone. it was only a matter of time before someone would bump into her. what was she expecting to happen. the person seemed to be in a rush, at had at least turned to look at her and shout an apology. she bent down to pick up her phone, in the collision she had accidentally dropped it. she dusted off the snow as she continued to walk. hopefully it wasn't damaged, she hadn't been planning on purchasing a new phone during this outing.

[attr="class","macbethbody"]A dazed glaze entered the dark-haired man's eyes as he marched forth through the suffocating hordes of people. Winter's bite failed to nip at his specially designed flesh, his tolerance of the cold exhibiting itself as he carried on. Months spent surviving in the cruel reality of the wilderness left Macbeth filthy, tired and mildly injured. The TRS uniform he wore on the evening of being left behind. Slow blinking eyes witnessed the horizon of colourful city lights as he gradually engulfed himself into the fray.
[break][break]
Eyes marked him, bearing into him with confusion, concern or worries of sketchy behaviours. Ragged TRS agents were not unusual given the age they lived in. Hunters throughout the days received wounds as the clocks ticked forward until the final sunset arrived. The man's breaths were deep as he carried through, pulling away from anyone who dared reached in worry or stepped before him. The yeti was unyielding to his exhaustion, an autonomous man striving forward in spite of the burdens weighing heftily upon his shoulders.
[break][break]
Wearily, Macbeth's eyes travelled over the waves of unfamiliar faces, praying to witness something, no, anything familiar. His eyes wished for the suburbs and mentally pleaded for the familiarity of Magnolia's abode. He craved the opportunity to see him, it was everything he wanted. Though his wish arrived as a scuffle reached his ears. The man's red hues flitted sideways, catching the fringes of blue hair. Abruptly, the hunter's eyes gained awareness, his fixation changing entirely as he woke.
[break][break]
From behind her gentle shoulders, he witnessed the blue-coloured locks. A breath entered his lungs, being held as he hoped to be correct in his assumption.
[break][break]
"Magnolia?" He called from behind the mysterious woman.
[break][break]
He prayed for a correct verdict... As of present, his calling for a random woman in the streets would not bode well. The opportunity for people to believe him mentally unwell was high... thus it felt he had a single chance to find them tonight under the bustling city lights. [break]

she was lost in a daze, her focus remained on her phone. she continued to mess with it. it was still on, so that was something. at the moment it didn't seem like she needed to put it in rice or anything of the sort. it was best she put her phone away, lest she stop in the middle of the sidewalk and risk getting bumped into again. she slipped it into her coat pocket and continued to her next destination.
she took a couple more steps before stopping and moving out of the way. the whole cell phone thing really messed her up. she couldn't remember what her plans were going to be. she knew she should of written this down. she figured she would be fine, but yet here she was struggling to come up with something. besides presents and actually finding them was there a certain place she wanted to look?
her thoughts were soon interrupted when she heard her name being called out. she quickly turned around and she would of missed him in the crowd had he not been standing right in front of her. he wasn't who she was expecting. she stared back at him, unable to open her mouth. words were clearly failing her, just as the rest of her body was.
she couldn't believe after all this time, here was her dad. a wave of relief washed over her. he had returned. he always promised he would and here he was. the tears stung her eyes and started to blur her vision. she forced herself to move closer to him to wrap him up into a hug. she wanted to hold on and not let go."dad!"she managed to choke out before she continued to cry.

[attr="class","macbethbody"]Trepidation played across Macbeth's shoulders as he prayed his weary eyes detected the familiar traits of his dearest daughter. Months of travelling may have brought him here, on the forefront of warmth, comfort and reconnecting. The man's red eyes blinked heavily as they attempted to fixate, the heft upon his shoulders subtly easing as vague hope entered the dark-haired man. Between the tired gaze of a man who endured the endless turmoil of survival, his eyes managed to recognize her fully. The moment she turned, his red hues gazed upon the delicate countenance of a familiar face.
[break][break]
After months of trudging through the world, picking himself up and surviving in the cruelness of the world... he gained the opportunity to view peace. Relief flooding over Macbeth's expression upon witnessing her face. His eyes traced every feature of the blue-haired woman he searched for. Each step taken had brought him closer and finally, it warranted the opportunity to ease himself. As the warmth of arms around arrived, the dark-haired man's inhale arrived deep as his arms gradually wrapped around the young girl.
[break][break]
His hands rubbed her arms as he kept Magnolia close. Finally, he discovered his daughter, after the struggles of escaping the Assembly and lying low, he found her.
[break][break]
"I'm glad you're alright," he murmured in a breathy tone.
[break][break]
The TRS hunter's eyes closed as he tightened his grip around her, allowing his daughter's tears to stain his snow-covered and torn uniform. Finally, he returned to the pleasant embrace of family. A familiar atmosphere around him arrived to relax the young man. He allowed the silence to fall, caring naught for the scene or concerned citizens. He was finally home.

she couldn't believe it. how she had counted down the days. though she really had no set countdown. if anything she counted how many days it had been since she had last spoken to him. all she had to do was scroll back through their text messages and the date would be there. as soon as she wrapped her arms around him, she knew he wasn't a figment of her imagination. he was real.
she continued to cry, but she was slowly regaining control of her emotions. she hugged him even tighter when he spoke. she had yet to find her words. she didn't know where she would start. her mind full of questions. first thing was first though. she needed to calm down, especially if she was going to speak.
she pulled away slighty, taking a few breaths to calm herself so she could look up at him. even if she couldn't get herself to stop crying just yet, she wanted to try. after a few seconds she tried to speak again. her voice was a little shaky."are you alright?"
[attr="class","macbethoverlap"]BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANYMORE CHOICES!
[attr="class","macbethbody"]Rolled off his shoulders was the intense weight of survival. The heft disappeared the instant Macbeth entered his daughter's embrace. Easement entered the dark-haired man's muscles, allowing him to relax in the young woman's hug. The warmth of his dearest daughtered was a welcomed sensation. Every experience in the precious moment allowed for him to confirm the reality of the circumstance. His arms tightened around Magnolia, his hand retreating to her back to rub her back. He hoped to soothe her, alas, given their situation it was unlikely.
[break][break]
A deep inhale was accomplished as the yeti attempted to completely calm his body. While physically Macbeth calmed, his mind was rushing through everything at millions of miles an hour. The number of recent happenings muddled together inside the hunter's head, twisting together as he struggled to ponder a single topic. There were questions as to where his wife was or if the Assembly of Phantoms was following him down to Lorsette. He wondered if anyone knew he was alive or if they still believed him missing.
[break][break]
The questions outweighed the answers the yeti received. There would be topics that required thought, however, the dark-haired man remained silent. As his daughter's fragile voice infiltrated his ears, his attention returned to her.
[break][break]
"Tired, but alright," the man murmured wearily.
[break][break]
A long sigh escaped his lips as he proceeded to embrace Magnolia. Despite requiring a location to rest, the yeti wished to hold the young woman a few moments longer. The people's staring eyes burning into them mattered naught for he needed a moment to hold her close. After handfuls of seconds passed, the yeti slowly pulled away, his red hues glancing over his daughter. He felt somewhat relaxed because he finally found a member of his family.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she was dreaming? how many times had she wished for this day to come and it finally has and she feels like she's dreaming. like it wasn't real. was her mind so cruel to play tricks on her yet again? how many times had she thought she'd seen her father and even her mother at times? though she knew it wasn't a dream when she felt the weight of his arms around her.
the tears didn't stop, they continued even after she had managed to calm herself down. well to calm herself enough to speak. she could only imagine how she sounded and she didn't want her dad to try to decipher what she was saying. she was taking slow but shaky breaths. she was just a mess and she was glad that he hadn't let her go even as he answered her question.
she knew there were so many things that she wanted to ask him, but that would have to wait. she needed to get him home and out of the cold. she needed to make sure that he wasn't hurt. that he wasn't hiding some sort of injury even though he had just said he was tired but alright."let's go home."she managed to say as she wiped away the tears that kept falling.
[attr="class","macbethoverlap"]BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANYMORE CHOICES!
[attr="class","macbethbody"]Weariness clawed deep into Macbeth's bones as he blinked. Travel had worn down the dark-haired yeti. Frigid temperatures, desperate circumstances and exhaustion were persistent threats as he dragged himself across the country. Miraculously, Macbeth had landed in Lorsette and before his daughter, however, mustering the intense emotions from being in her company was difficult. After the occurrences of his journey, Macbeth barely managed to embrace her. Fortunately, the blue-haired woman appeared understanding of his present circumstance.
[break][break]
Through his exhaustion, he narrowly managed to notice the traits of sorrow. The tears from his daughter's eyes and the concern chimed beneath the strength of her voice. Discussions and comfort could arrive once the dark-haired yeti acquired rest and recovered from his rigorous journey. Yet, a single word stuck out, one that summoned soft confusion summoned from weary thoughts. After the cruel unfoldings at their home, Macbeth lost his original abode, launching him into the questionable situation he existed in.
[break][break]
"Home," he echoed the word in a soft voice. "I'll... follow you on that. I should be able to manage the walk, Magnolia."
[break][break]
A soft, reassuring undertone existed in Macbeth's rougher voice. Despite his exhaustion, the yeti could manage to walk further yet. However, he could sense in his bones that upon settling, he would be unlikely to rouse from his seat or where he laid despite the muck on his uniform. The yeti required rest opposed to cleanliness, and hours of it at that.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .
[attr="class","honey1"]
slowly she was starting to calm down. though she knew that there would be more tears. she was happy to have her father back. it was bittersweet though. her mother wasn't here with them. she had been sick of waiting at home for her father's return and in the end set off to find him.
right now her focus would have to be on him. getting him home and making sure he was alright. he was tired after all. she needed to get him inside so he could rest. of course she could of elaborated on who's home she was taking him too, but he would soon figure it out.
she looked at him doubtful. even though he had managed to make it all this way. would he really be okay to walk home. she let her arms drop so that she could move in a manner that if he needed to he could lean on her."i'll help you if you get more tired."she said with a small smile."i'm sorry i don't have a car. that would of been faster."she apologized as she waited to make sure he was ready to walk. as soon as he was, she would have to turn around and go back the way she came. heading towards her apartment.
[attr="class","macbethoverlap"]BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANYMORE CHOICES!
[attr="class","macbethbody"]Acquainted with the weariness in his bones, Macbeth’s opinion was what would a few more steps do? The heaviness of his eyes hardly mattered given the thick fog of his mind. The exhaustion struggled to allow clarity or deep thought, thus, the yeti quietly followed his tengu daughter. Resting for the time was a nonexistent option for the father. Should he sit somewhere or lay down, undoubtedly his body would cease function and force rest upon him at the moment.
[break][break]
The stiffness, the soreness, Macbeth felt it entirely. His clothes were covered in snow, the thin layers gradually melting into the cloth. Most would have crumbled beneath the chill of the environment, however, the TRS hunter was prepared to handle these dire straits. At the mention of lacking a car, Macbeth provided his daughter a questionable nod. He was not bothered by the circumstance admittedly, he came too far to fade away.
[break][break]
“It’s fine. It’s best I don’t settle somewhere since it’s likely my body would not allow me to continue,” the dark-haired man explained quietly.
[break][break]
The last thing Macbeth desired was to be stuck in a vehicle after a long journey. He learned hastily how extensive movement could diminish the body’s willingness to insight the ridiculous requirements. Thus, perhaps it was best to shuffle behind his daughter on a slow journey to her home.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she wasn't sure what had to be done once she brought him to her apartment. would they have to contact someone? could that wait. clearly he was tired. no he seemed like he beyond exhausted. she needed to give him food and water. who knows how long it had been since he had last eaten. all these thoughts were filling her mind as she started the slow walk home. she wasn't going to rush him. she would help him the best she could, but ultimately she wasn't strong enough to carry him. she nodded at his words. that made sense. she probably wouldn't want to get up after sitting down either. was he currently running on adrenaline? even that would have it's limits right?"i understand."
she's walked her plenty of times and there were shorter paths she could take."i'm right here if you need to lean on me."she offered with a smile. she wanted him to know that she was here and that he wouldn't be alone. she wasn't going to leave his side even if he became too tired to continue. she continued to guide him through the streets at his pace. she counted the landmarks as they neared her apartment. she was thankful she had rented on the ground floor. she wasn't sure if her father would of been able to climb all those stairs. since it was an older building, it didn't have an elevator."we're almost there."she reassured him."we just have to take a right and go up the front steps."
[attr="class","macbethoverlap"]BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANYMORE CHOICES!
[attr="class","macbethbody"]Merely the presence of Magnolia brought easement to the weary father. His muscles ached from days spent roughing it through the wilderness and avoiding the malicious clutches of the Assembly. Chances were, his side of the family searched for him. The ones who cursed him with immortality and the consistent deep memories of times were considered unfortunate. Chances were, his perilous journey would enter the realm of easily recalled tragedies. An unpleasant existence for an immortal, however, one he continued nonetheless without a single complaint.
[break][break]
He nodded at her words, following Magnolia with every step. He kept his mind fixated on the goal, getting to Magnolia's apartment where he could rest and sort everything out. As they approached the stairs, Macbeth nodded again, slowly at her words.
[break][break]
"I'm glad we're almost there," he breathed out the words. "I more than need the rest."
[break][break]
Gradually, he began up the stairs, taking his time and allowing sheer determination to overtake him. Finally, Macbeth was somewhere he could consider safe after days of traversing. As they reached the door of the apartment, an exhaustive sigh left his lips. When they entered, Macbeth's strides slowly as took him inside the warmth of Magnolia's home. The heat touched his cheeks, kissing them gently that welcomed him. For a moment, the dark-haired man closed his eyes, breathing in deep as the comfort and ease drifted over his shoulders similar to a waterfall.
