Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Kai had texted Magnolia for a day out to have some fun. He wanted to do something besides sitting his manor. Sure he could have everything he wanted brought to him, but where was the fun in that? He wanted to go out and do things, have something exciting happen. Meet someone new, go swimming in the fountain, or simply have a fun day out with someone he found interesting. He pulled out his phone walking towards the large garage in his manor. Sending a text to Magnolia that read. "I'm on my way, your whole day is free right?" Kai didn't get much of his time free like this, and choosing it to spend with the girl he met at the park wasn't exactly the first thing on his mind, but she was nice and kind, and a looker too. He couldn't help but want to see her again, especially considering she didn't seem to care about meeting him.
Kai pulled the key fob to the purple Lamborghini off the wall. Yes he was still trying to impress her with cars, plus he had a few surprises laid out for the day. One was going to the track for a little time lap racing, and the other was a secret. Magnolia knew she was heading to the mall at least, he had hoped she took the day off however as he was planning a pretty late night for the most part. He hit the remote ignition switch on the keyfob, the purple Lamborghini roaring to life almost shaking the insides of the garage.
Kai was wearing something very casual. He had on a black shirt, blue jeans, and chose to wear a black ballpark hat to hide his face in public. He knew taking the lambo would give him a lot of attention, but it was his favorite car. Magnolia had stated to pick her up at the Bakery so that's where he was headed. Kai pressed the garage door opener on the shade visor of the Lamborghini, opening the garage door. He revved the engine a few times and headed out on the road.
The top too the car was already down, but thankfully it wasn't very windy today meaning Kai could leave the black hat on without much trouble. It only took him 10-20 minutes but eventually he made his way to the bakery. Driving the purple Lamborghini pretty much right in front of the bakery, but parked on the side of the road, he let the engine run. The thing being pretty loud on it's own.
He pulled out his phone, putting the car in park. "I'm here." He texted her. He went into his phone, pulling up a music streaming app, his phone was paired to the cars speaker, and he was trying to find a good song to play for background music.

she was focused on paper work. though had she been working in the back she might of missed the text message from kai. it took her by surprise. seeing as he was always busy. she set her pen down and picked up her phone to send a reply. she wasn't exactly busy, besides she didn't want to say know if he was already on his way. she quickly texted that she was free for the whole day. she was positive if she told the others they would be pushing her out the door. they did tell her she seemed to live at the bakery.
after all that's where she had told kai to meet her. should she had gone home to change? well, it wasn't like she was dirty from working in the kitchen. even if she had dressed to work in the back. it wasn't anything bad. she had a pair of black pants on with a short sleeved floral top and black flats. she wondered if they would have to do more running. maybe she should of picked different shoes. though honestly she mostly owned flats. it would be fine, she managed to keep up with him just fine.
it would be fine. after all this wasn't a random meeting like last time. he had something planned they were going to the mall, surely paparazzi wouldn't be in the mall, well she hoped not. clearly she was just worrying too much. she set her phone down and started to put the paperwork away. she wasn't sure how long it would be before kai would arrive and the last thing she wanted was to have him wait for her.
after sorting the paper work she popped into the kitchen, letting them know that she would be leaving, but they could call her if they needed anything. by the looks that she received she knew they wouldn't be calling her. she knew they didn't need her and they could handle their own. she popped back into the office to grab her purse, slipping it on and hearing another alert. kai was here. she made her way towards the entrance, spotting his car right way. it was rather hard to miss. she smiled and approached the car."hey there, thanks for coming to get me."she told him as she got in the car.
Kai smiled towards Magnolia as he heard her voice. "Yeah no worries, I get to show off my car." He laughed lightly at his little serious joke. He waited for her to buckle up, but while he was doing so he also flipped through his phone for songs. "I'm having a hard time picking, why don't you make a selection?" He tossed his phone in her lap while focusing his attention on the road. The street wasn't too busy but a few cars were on the road. He put his signal on, the engine revving up as he put the car into drive. He finally got the right of way, and began driving. The sun was out, and it was a clear day. It was perfect for going out, and although it was a little hot at least the Mall was air conditioned.
"So How's it been? It's been a little bit since I've seen you last." The car made it's way down the street towards a pair of stop lights. Kai adjusted his hat and turned to her curiously while holding the brim down to accentuate the hat. "What do you think? It works in the movies right?" Whenever a hero wanted to remain hidden he just had to wear black, and wear a typical ball park hat. Kai was also doing a little mythbusting and seeing if this technique actually worked. He noticed that she wasn't as dressed up as she was when they had first met. This was typical he thought, she did come from work, although he wasn't quite used to woman not being dolled up, at least for his career it seemed to be the case 90% of the time.
The car rolled to a stop at the red light, the sounds of the lamborghini drowning out the rest of the cars.
"I like your outfit." He was looking for a comment on his, as this was the first time she would see him not overly dressed up. He really was thinking of her when he dressed like this, wanting to avoid prying eyes and all. He knew he wouldn't be able to avoid people all day, but he was sure he wouldn't draw a huge crowd like this.
The light turned green and Kai continued heading down the streets towards the Mall.
This car would still draw some people of course. The car passed a few kids on the street, and they all seemed to fixate on the purple Lamborghini. Kai smiled, he clearly enjoyed the attention for the most part, and revved the engine for the kids. The car was loud, especially with the top down. "You know this car is really something" Kai said while rubbing the steering wheel a little bit.
"It's my favorite I think." He laughed while returning to grip the steering wheel normally. "Do you have a favorite car? If you were to pick one, what type of car would you pick?" Kai had half the mind to just go up and buy the car that she liked to show off, but he felt like doing that would get him no where with this woman. He'll just have to keep it mind for a birthday present or something.

she laughed softly."well that's good."she could already tell his car was getting looks. so far the only thing she learned was that it was a very popular car. she was being honest when she mentioned not knowing anything about cars. his phone landed in her lap and she picked it up."are you sure? you might not like what i listen too."she told him with a smile. if he didn't like what she picked he could always change it. she scrolled to see what she could find. of course the only thing that came to mind had no words. she picked the first piano sonata that she recognized."if you don't want to listen to this, feel free to change it."she told him with a smile.
"it's going good. well you are rather busy, so it's alright."she told him with a nod. they stopped at a red light and kai showed off his hat."it looks good, but i feel like your missing something."she told him with a nod."oh, its sunglasses. i think i've seen that done a few times."she told him with a nod.
she laughed softly at his comment."oh, no i just wore this to work. it's nothing special. i think yours is better, we just need to get you some sunglasses to complete the look."
she nodded in agreement, the car was something alright. she enjoyed the color at least and having the top down. though honestly she just liked the feeling the wind in her hair. though currently it was up in a bun. it's how she usually wore it when she would work in the kitchen."wait, do you have more than one car?"was that a silly question to ask?
she shook her head. she never really thought about it. so long as it worked that was good enough for her."uh, not really. though if i had to pick maybe a convertible? or a cute little bug, i think that's what they are called."she said with a laugh.
Kai was caught off guard by Magnolia's choice of music. A Piano Sonata? Kai froze up a little recognizing the tune. Kai had a special relationship with the piano, he was forced to learn it alongside the many skills he needed for acting. He didn't really like playing it in front of others, but the sonata reminded him of all the practice he put in on the instrument. He mainly played the thing for his mother, and now he only played for people he truly trusted. The piano only reminded him of abuse, so naturally he only played when he felt completely comfortable. He had played for Jason once, since he trusted him with so much, he had played this exact song many times before, and found it quite difficult. His mother would scold him for getting it wrong, and his father wouldn't care for it too much, so it became something that only pleased his mother.
The tenseness in Kai could be picked up pretty easily, although he quickly changed his tune not wanting to seem off in anyway. "Interesting choice in music," He wanted to change it, it definitely threw him off a little bit, but he did like the sonata after all. "Yeah I've been pretty busy, I've been setting things up for the movie I'm directing. My first movie as a director, I've told you about this haven't I?" He wasn't quite sure if he had, but it was a good thing to speak about anyways. "It's going to be a horror movie, because those generally perform well on low budgets." He made a right hand turn and intersection.
"It's going to be casting calls in a couple of months, maybe you should try out for a role!" He smiled, not really expecting her to take that up. "My producers are requiring me to be in it, although I don't have to be in it long." He spoke with complete transparency on the thing, even though he probably should keep his mouth shut on some aspects. "I die pretty early in the movie, I think I'll be the first death so I can focus on directing."
When Magnolia mentioned he needed sunglasses Kai nodded. "Your completely right." He dug into the glove box infront of magnolia but couldn't find a pair of sunglasses. "I could have sworn I had one. Oh well we can get a pair at the mall right?" He closed the glovebox still controlling the car rather well despite doing multiple things.
Kai looked at her curiously, the mall in sight now. "Yeah I have a few cars here in Lorsette. Others in my other properties, but I'd say I've been mainly using 3 cars recently. I use the purple beast the most though." He was referring to the Lamborghini of course. "I could see you in a convertible mini cooper, but a bug would suit you as well." Kai pulled into the parking lots of the mall. He had to go slow now to avoid dangerous driving, and people were looking and staring at the car from all over. He pulled into an open parking space, and clicked a button on the dash. The roof coming out of the back and closing over the two of them.
Kai got out of the car, letting the hot air hit him a bit. He was wearing black after all. "Anything you need to pick up Magnolia? Sunglasses are on the list now." Kai looked at the people staring at the car, but kept himself in low profile mode, avoiding waving at the people. Although he did love to show off that car.

she smiled softly."it's okay if you don't like it. i know this type of music seems to put people to sleep."she said with a laugh."i'll find something different."she told him with a nod as she went back to scrolling through song options thinking it was him just being too nice to ask for her to change it. till she found something she recognized. they often played the radio in the kitchen while they worked. she knew not everyone listened to what she did. which was fine, that just meant she could discover new music. she picked a pop song. it had a good beat and lyrics.
she nodded as he told her what was keeping him so busy."that's good. i hope everything goes well. i believe you mentioned it, but not what it was about."she told him with a smile."that sounds exciting."she laughed at his next comment."you're kidding right? i've never acted a day in my life. i'd probably just stand there like that one time with the paparazzi."
even if she wanted to she figured she might not have time as she was busy with the bakery and all. besides being in the spotlight wasn't something she craved. though she couldn't deny it would be interesting to see what went on behind the scenes of a movie production. she nods once more."that's will fun well not the dying part but the directing. you said this would be your first one right?"
kai agreed with her suggestion about needing sunglasses for the finishing touch. though it seemed he didn't have any with him."i'm sure they have to be selling them somewhere in the mall."she nodded. she remembered always seeing them near the accessories. sections of clothing stores.
"oh that's cool."she nods."i was going to say, i figured this one would be your favorite, despite this being the second time i've seen it."she smiled."maybe i'll get one one day, we shall see."
the mall came into view. she couldn't remember the last time she had gone. had it been when she needed to get a few things for her mother's stay."yes, sunglasses. nothing else i can think of at the moment. we can just walk around."she told him with a smile.
He looked at her curiously as she adjusted the music. "No I like it." He simply responded with a small tone, speaking softer than he usually did. He was intrigued when she put on the pop song. He had gotten a few people interested in him trying something similar like pop music, but he was more than content staying an actor, instead of going off to be a musician too. He'd stick to playing when he wanted to play, not being pressured to produce an album, or albums, or at least not hire people to produce songs for him, and then get caught by the fans as not being the actual song writer. He wasn't interested in those deals.
Kai smiled when she laughed at his comment and responded to her. "Acting isn't that hard, at least when your into the rhythm of the scene it actually becomes quite easy." Kai had worked with some musicians who weren't technically actors, but maybe trying to break into the actor scene using their clout as musicians to try and leverage better positions than they normally would achieve. He didn't really like working with them, but with the right director anyone could be a competent actor, he truly believed that.
"Yeah first time Directing my own movie. I hope it performs well, I would be happy if it was at least profitable, and then I could make another one." He was interested in trying to create a fantasy movie, or scifi thriller, but he had to start somewhere at least. When she said maybe she'd get a car Kai simply nodded at her. He thought she would eventually get one if she needed it, but if she didn't need it what was the point really right? After getting out of the car, and locking it up, waiting for Magnolia to step out as well.
He adjusted his hat, and then began walking towards the entrance of the mall. "So what got you into baking? I mean it doesn't seem like the most exciting career. Clearly you enjoy though, so I'm wondering where you picked up your passion for it." He began walking into the mall, figuring Magnolia would follow him. He wanted to get out of the heat as soon as possible, and the mall was air conditioned, so he was walking decently fast. He was also avoiding people figuring that the car was his by getting away from the thing as soon as possible.
The place was crowded, but it was manageable. Nobody seemed to be noticing him either, which was actually quite nice. He smiled turning to Magnolia. "Maybe this will work eh?" He laughed happily enjoying the time without being noticed, it was enjoyable. "We should head to the mall map no?" Kai hadn't spent much time in the mall, so he was happy to be here. He looked around for a map, and soon enough he found one.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she had simply assumed he didn't like it. well, it was a little late now. she had already switched it over to a new song."oh sorry. well you can change it back if you want."she told him with a smile before handing his phone back to him. she wasn't going to be constantly changing from song to song. she just didn't want to annoy him with changing the song once more. so she would let him decide.
then again soon enough they would be arriving at the mall so maybe the music wouldn't matter. she laughed softly at his comment."you say that, but i'm sure it requires lots of training and some talent."then again maybe he was right. she would just have to give him the benefit of the doubt. they continued talking about his movie and she nodded."i wish you luck. scary movies are pretty popular. no? i'm sure it will do well."she smiled."do you already have an idea for your next one?"she asked curiously.
they had arrived at their destination and she she unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car. she followed behind once he started heading towards the entrance. she smiled at his question."the delicious treats one can make."though it all honestly it was more than that."i'd like to think i had a knack for it. not to say that everything i've made came out good. i have burned a few things."she laughed."it was something i did with my mom when i was younger."
"well, your right. it's not the most exciting, but i think once you see the final product it can be fun. especially if you're making a cool cake or something."she told him with a nod. though she enjoyed people coming to tell her how they hadn't had a certain treat and it made them think of happy things.
did that make sense? she hoped it did. was the mall always crowded at this time of day? though it seemed what kai was wearing wasn't drawing any attention to him. she smiled."don't jinx it."she said playfully."sure, that's fine with me."she told him as she continued to follow him. she looked around at the different shops on the map before making a decision."um, how about this one."she pointed to it on the map."they sell candies and stuff, but i'm good with anything."
Kai was a bit surprised at the switching of the song so suddenly, but was fine with what was on when she said he could change it back. When she said that she was sure it required a lot of training, Kai didn't disagree with her, but he felt like a big factor was who was directing. He got very lucky with the right directors, and projects, that he was able to work on. He was glad to hear that she thought his movie would do well. It was true that scary movies were quite popular, and Kai knew that they were, but that wasn't his real passion project in all of the director efforts. When she asked if he had an idea for the next one he froze momentarily. "I've been so focused on the current project I haven't thought about what I should do next." He was being honest, despite knowing what he wanted down the road, the steps in between were a bit of a mystery. "I'll just find out what scares you, and then make a movie about that. "The Fears of the Bakery Owner" I'll call it" He moved his hands fully intending to poke her in the side with a teasing attitude, and playful smile.
He however slightly regretted this action, thinking that perhaps Magnolia may not feel that comfortable with him yet. Kai was pretty comfortable in most situations, people often times didn't catch him off guard. When she said it was because of the treats Kai wasn't all that surprised to hear such a simple answer, but kept quiet thinking that wasn't the end of her train of thought. It was something she did with her mother? Kai had basically no baking or cooking skills to think of, his mother didn't really teach him that. Sure he could make a grill cheese, but he became successful enough to have personal chefs at a young age, and thus those skills became very lacking.
"Sounds like you really enjoyed the time with your mother then." Kai could relate mostly to that.
"I think I'd like to try baking a cake or something one day, you'll give me tips won't you?" Kai was thinking more along the lines of personal lessons, but he wasn't pushing the issue that hard anyways, he was usually too busy for something like that anyways. He mainly wanted to know so he had more things to pass down to his eventual family, or something to make for family get togethers if he decided to go to them. Sure he could always get his chef to make something, but he could say to his mother that he made it from scratch which would be so much more rewarding he thought, she would be surprised.
When they were in the mall Magnolia's voice kind of snapped Kai back to his senses. "Don't jinx it" He looked a bit surprised at her playfulness but simply smiled in return. When she pointed out a candy shop Kai nodded in agreement. He then pointed out to a small variety store that was at the entrance, maybe a tens of feet away from them at the map. "Let's stop here first to get shades, unless we want to be noticed." He didn't really expect a no since it was so close, in fact when Kai turned around the variety store inside the mall was already in sight. They usually place them near the entrances.
"If you'd like you can wait outside the variety store, I'll just run in quick and get a pair of shades, and then we'll be on our way to the candy store." Kai walked towards the variety store expecting her to enter if she wanted to, or stay near the outer section of the variety store. He really didn't need to enter to far as their was a rack of sunglasses right at the counter. Kai walked into a line of 2 people and they moved along swiftly. He made his way to the counter, grabbing a pair of shades from the circular rack, and then put them on, before asking the cashier. "Just these shades." The cashier gave him a funny look and rung him through. Kai paid with debit tap, so he didn't have to break any fifties. After getting the sunglasses he went back to the exit and decided to refocus his attention with Magnolia.
"So how are these?" He tapped the shades with his pointer finger. "They do the job don't they?" He didn't really like wearing shades, but oh well he had to make some small sacrifices. "Off to the candy store then, are you planning to get anything specific or just planning to do a bit of window shopping? What's your favorite candy?" Kai began walking in the direction of the candy store, checking the map once more just to be sure, but making sure not to stray too far from Magnolia.

[attr="class","honey1"]
the music was forgotten once they started to talk about his movies. she nodded at his words."that makes sense, focus on one thing at a time so you don't overwhelm yourself."she nodded. she knew when she had random ideas pop into her head she liked to write them down in a notebook for later. didn't necessarily mean that she would use them, but it was nice to have for later.
she laughed and shook her head. laughing even more when he managed to poke her side. clearly evident that she was a bit ticklish. she hadn't been expecting him to do that otherwise she would of moved."technically i co-own it with my friend. so it wouldn't just be a movie about me. besides i don't think it would be too exciting of a movie. i can be easily startled at times."she laughed softly.
she smiled with a nod."yeah, i guess growing up i was my father's shadow more than anything. so i'm glad i was able to have this time with my mom."it was a little embarrassing to admit, but it was the truth. she was always with her father, helping him with this or that. "you should, it would be fun and of course."she smiled.
honestly she didn't have anything she needed to get. she knew her mother was feeling a bit down and honestly who wouldn't be. it wasn't going to fix the problem, but a little pick me up couldn't hurt. maybe she could pick her up some scented candles or incense.
she nods at his suggestion."it's more you getting noticed than me, but yeah that's fine with me going to get you some sunglasses i mean."so far no one seemed to recognize him, but the shades wouldn't hurt. she followed him to the first store. she didn't wander to far inside. seeing as kai wasn't going to be in there for long.
she moved away from the display she was looking at while she waited for kai."they look good."she tells him with a nod."i can barely recognize you with those on."she added with a small laugh. she shook her head at his question."not really, i was just going to pick something random for my mom. i like the little chocolate that have like coconut in the middle or the cherry. those are good."she said with a smile."what about you? do you have a favorite candy?"
Kai looked at Magnolia with a curious gaze as she reminded him that she co-owned the bakery. "It must be hard to co-own something, you must have to run a lot through the other person. I can kind of relate, I have to run a lot by my manager. However as you get more popular that thing becomes less of a nuisance" Kai didn't have to include his manager in the projects he directed for instance, but he did considering they had been through a lot together, and Kai was his best client afterall, at least paid his bills for him, and his fancy mercedes. "You must trust that person a lot." He added while continuing to walk towards the candy store. "I trust Jason, my head of security at the manor quite a bit." Yes Kai had security at his manor, he did have a few people attempt to break in so a small detail was needed, and someone even broke the front gate while trying to get it open. Thankfully Jason knew the best types of locks, and security systems so that sort of thing was rare. The person was probably skilled to get as far as they did.
"I was a mama's boy" Kai laughed leaving it at that. When she said she could barely recognize him Kai smiled. "Then it's perfect." He continued to walk with Magnolia listening to her talk about getting her mother something, and then speaking about the chocolate with the cherry, and ones with coconut. "Sweets are great, I really like dark chocolate with orange candied pieces inside. It's a nice little treat." He responded to her question. "I usually stay on a strict diet though. I do have cheat days, but my personal trainer tends to be very strict." Kai cheated on his diet quite frequently honestly, but he wasn't going to admit to that right away.
They made their way up to the candy store, Kai walking in and immediately smelling an interesting aroma of sugars. He began looking around the store, casually staring at some of the gummy candies that were shaped like bears. He moved on to the chocolate section, which was where he was sure Magnolia's treats for her mom would be. "Are any of these what your looking for?" He asked her curiously.

[attr="class","honey1"]
she smiled and shook her head."not really. i mean i guess i was lucky. i ended up opening the bakery with my friend. we both agreed on what each of us would do. it's working out really good."she figured it really depended on the people and how their ideas came together. luckily for them they seemed to agree with each other.
she nods at his comment."well, i hope everything is going good for you now."she smiled. not being able to express yourself could be frustrating. she nods once more."yes, we actually met at school, so we've known each other for quite some time now."she nods."that's good. i mean you're so popular, i'm sure you get bothered a lot. or is it just the paparazzi that's stalking."she said with a small smile. it probably was never a dull moment when one was a celebrity. clearly in order to just go to the mall he ended up disguising himself. she could never do it. she enjoyed going where she needed to go without worrying if someone was watching her.
"that's so cute! especially admitting it."she told him with a smile. they continued talking about candy as they made continued walking."oh, i don't think i've had those. i might have to try them sometime."she nodded figuring this was just another requirement of being an actor."i think it's okay to cheat once in a while, so long as you don't over do it. i mean i'm not constantly eating chocolate. a treat here and there is okay."at least it was for her.
the shop wasn't too difficult to find. it wasn't one of those that was hidden from sight. the sign was pretty noticeable. she was sort of familiar with the place. she didn't come here to often, but the layout was pretty much the same. unless they decided to switch things around. she followed kai as he walked through the shop."yeah, she's not too picky. any chocolate is good enough for her."she told him with a nod before grabbing a small box of assorted chocolates off the shelf."did you want anything? or is there anywhere else did you want to go?"
Kai listened to her words while walking. The soft sounds of feet hitting the pavement as many people walked around them. "I'm very happy it's all working out good for you two." Kai generally thought that running a business was tough. In many ways he was running a small business operation in his own right, and he was sure it came with many similar problems. Marketing, for example was probably something both of them had to deal with right? When she said she hoped everything was going good for him Kai paused for a moment. Was everything going good? He was still technically at the height of his career, with newer advancements coming along the way. He was making a lot of progress towards his goals, but was he happy? That was the real metric he wanted to run by.
He honestly didn't know the answer to the question yet, because frankly finding out what made him happy wasn't really something he did. Sure he enjoyed acting alright, but that was forced on him basically. He was hoping directing would bring back the child like wonder, and excitement, that he once had for everything. Kai smiled, this was a fake smile, but he was a very good actor, so he didn't really expect anyone to tell the difference. "Everythings going smoothly." It wasn't a lie, but his smile certainly was at that moment. It was hard to smile for real when your thoughts were caught up in so many places.
"Mainly the paparazzi, but I do get stalked by some people. I had a girl try to break into my manor a little while ago." Kai admitted while looking at her. "I have security though, they took care of it.""Jason keeps me safe." He was talking about his head of security.
When Magnolia called him cute Kai found himself caught slightly off-guard. He didn't view the whole situation with his mother cute now, but he was definitely a mommas boy wanting to prove to her he could do things like play piano. When they made it to the store and Magnolia focused a bit more on the treats, Kai relaxed a bit. He watched as she picked out a box of chocolates, then asking him if he'd like any where next. Kai smiled widely as he raised his finger. "Let's go to a movie store, grab a movie from one of the well known Actors." He was of course hinting at grabbing her a movie to watch that included him, he was going to pick out one for her, and then she could finally watch a movie with him in it.
i know it's hard to be soft. i know it hurts to be kind. i know that when love is lost. it's only fear in disguise . .

she smiled at his words.”thank you!”they both got along very well. it only made things better, they were able to help each other and would often build off each other’s ideas. it was great. she knew sometimes people said it was hard to work with your friends, but not for her. really the only thing that worried her was that she wasn’t doing enough. she was the person that mainly focused on the paperwork side of things. when she wasn’t tied up with those sorts of things she would help in the kitchen. it’s why she was always back there, because it felt like she wasn’t helping them enough. of course she did like to bake, so it wasn’t like she didn’t want to be back there.
the comment was sort of reflected back at him. she hoped things were going great for him as well. despite her not knowing that he was such a famous actor, everyone else around them was aware of who he was. after all he was chased by the papparazzi, she just happened to be there to witness the whole thing. he probably didn’t have too many days off. it seemed like an actor’s schedule was always full. yet, here he was with her, at the mall. she nodded at his words.”that’s good.”
he continued to tell her about the time some girl had broken into his manor.”you poor thing. that sounds terrifying. you can’t catch a break can you.”it was a rhetorical question. though she really hoped that he wasn’t stalked too much or that the amount of people finding where he lived and trying to break in was just that girl. even celebrities needed their privacy. some people just took it too far.”good, that’s good that you have people looking out for you!”she told him with a smile.
hadn’t he mentioned back at the park, when they had first met, that they didn’t have much time together anymore? no wonder, if he was super attached to his mother, them not being able to spend time together was probably hard on him. of course she was completely unaware of their actual relationship. as soon as kai pointed out the chocolates magnolia made her way over. looking over the different selections before finding the box that she knew had her mother’s favorites.”are you not going to get to something? oh right you’re on a diet. myabe something small? we can share it?”she continued to forget that he wasn’t able to eat all the things he wanted. it was alright if he didn't want anything from the shop. she knew she could always get a chocolate or two from her mother. that would be more than enough for her. she paid for her chocolates ready to go on to the next store.”sure, that sounds fun! maybe we’ll find something good.”she said with a smile.
Kai awaited for Magnolia to finish up her gathering of the chocolates before moving on to get to the nearest map of the mall. He didn't frequent the place consistently so he'd be checking the mall maps probably often. He walked towards it, keeping an eye on Magnolia making sure she didn't travel too far from his sight or get lost in the sea of people. He traced his finger through the map. "Movie store" He muttered lowly while looking through the map. "Ah A-1 Cinema, B-37" He spoke aloud while making heads and tails of the map. He walked back nearer to Magnolia. "It's not too far, why don't you follow me, and then we can pick out some movies. They should be generally cheap, at least the DVDs anyways." Kai generally purchased blurays, but he didn't know if she had a bluray player for the things, so a DVD was a better option. Plus if she did, DVDs could be played in the blurays so it was a win win.
"I think I'll pass on some candy for now, but we can go for dinner later, and I can show you something that is generally healthier we could eat together." Kai frowned a little bit. "I think I used up most of my cheat points already," It was a crude little system, but having cheat 'points' was a nice little addition to his dieting. He wasn't perfect after all. He was glad that she thought it was good that people looked out for him, and he wanted to continue on about Jason, but he figured he would be flaunting his wealth around if he was to do so. After all, even though Jason was a great friend, and resource, he was also a paid security manager. Not all people had access to those kinds of people, and he wanted to seem down to earth, so he tried to keep the more expensive parts of his life out of range at least while he was in the mall.
He could show off when he got back to his car, or the movie store.
Kai started walking at this point, figuring he could listen to Magnolia as he walked. "So how long exactly have you been doing the art thing for?" Kai questioned her to keep the flow of conversation going a bit smoothly as they walked to the A-1 Cinema. When the two arrived Kai walked in casually, looking around at some of the casual shopgoers as they browsed through the movies.
"Let's separate for a little bit, pick out a few movies, and then come back, and share what we've found." Kai was going to pick a few movies of his of course, but he was going to sprinkle in a bit of others works that he liked. "Okay, see you in like 10 minutes!" Kai darted off to the section of the store where they had his movies arrayed out in a stand. There was quite a bit, so displaying them in this manner was beneficial for people looking directly for his movies. He squeezed through a few other people browsing his movies, and they looked up at him curiously. "Sorry" They responded. Kai looked at them blankly through the sunglasses, and said. "No it was my fault, I'm sorry."
