Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Rank was something Fritz took extremely seriously, thus, the elite hunter stood firm about Loren getting proper clothing for the weather for the time being. Unfortunately, the reaper could only accomplish so much in regards to assuring his apprentice would dress suitably. The blue-haired man would not force Loren into those clothes and planned on allowing his apprentice to suffer the consequences. Naturally, he would assure there was a method to return Loren to a location where warmth could be discovered and where he could manage to maintain proper body heat.
[break][break]
His apprentice's demeanour about the notion of getting proper clothing proved Loren was determined to be stubborn. A soft sigh escaped Fritz's lips as he rolled his stunning blue eyes. Persuading the oni to accomplish what he wished appeared unlikely, therefore, he would have to allow him to suffer the consequences. Despite listening to Loren's reasoning behind not requiring a jacket, the elite hunter remained worried about the man's well-being in the current situation. Many things could happen during the missions, including being knocked unconscious which could result in Loren freezing.
[break][break]
Alas, his apprentice did not appear keen on listening, therefore, Fritz decided he would warn and allow Loren to decide if the risk was worthy.
[break][break]
"What if you get knocked unconscious?" Fritz stated. "It would be better to rely on something like jackets or charms."
[break][break]
There was obvious stubbornness being displayed by Loren, but the ancient warrior knew he should warn about all possibilities. As a high-ranking TRS agent, it was among his expectations to protect his fellow agents. Furthermore, it was a task Fritz burdened himself with. After the wars he witnessed and fights he was involved in, the swordsman wanted to assure nobody would play the role of a useless pawn in these battles. On the chessboard, everybody held their positions and each piece needed to be used effectively to preserve lives.

[attr="class","youfallbot2"]WHO WANTS TO BE A HERO
As a mentor and elite hunter, Fritz followed a set of responsibilities that he balanced on his shoulders dutifully. Among those expectations was caring for his apprentices and fellow hunters whenever it was required of him. As somebody who worked alongside people for years as a mercenary and hunter, Fritz's heroic nature displayed itself under most circumstances. While the ancient hero was not expressive, he possessed a heart beneath his serious countenance. Since the beginning, he devoted his life to protecting others.
[break][break]
Even when Fritz unexpectedly returned from the depths of Purgatory because of the affliction of a curse, he stood strong, determined to make a difference in the name of his loved ones. Alas, the warrior held flaws, the most noticeable being his willingness to sacrifice himself to save others. He wished to die a hero's death, and his over-protective nature kept him from requesting help from others at times. The blue-haired man was a fighter, somebody determined to defend others at a moment's notice should it be required.
[break][break]
A brow raised when his apprentice gave the excuse of burning his uniform, however, the TRS uniforms were fire resistance, not necessarily fireproof. An annoyed sigh escaped the blue-haired man's lips as he crossed his arms, listening to the remainder of the story.
[break][break]
"We could see if they would make an exception," Fritz explained. "Unless you have a jacket you could use, for now, otherwise I don't think you should tag along unless you want to freeze."
[break][break]
It would be irrational to offer his jacket, solely because of his species and the operation of his body. Biological, reapers were horrendous at retaining heat, therefore, Fritz required his jacket to attend the mission and the TRS required the assistance. Alas, the blue-haired remained hopeful that they could scrounge up a jacket for Loren to use for the purpose of the mission.

[attr="class","youfallbot2"]WHO WANTS TO BE A HERO
Silently, Fritz leaned against the wall, observing the crowd's movements as they conversed. The reaper's blue eyes scanned the room, analyzing the people inside in search of Vashti potentially hiding among them. Throughout the years, the female brunette proved to be the ancient warrior's only long-lasting friend. She travelled alongside him, following him under the preposterous claim of them being soulmates. He believed Vashti's beliefs had fabricated thoughts because of the first heroic action he took, the one which introduced him to Vashti.
[break][break]
A terror was slain, sparing the brunette saved from an early death by the hands of Assembly of Phantoms. Relief flooded over him the more faces he witnessed in the crowd of hunters who volunteered to fight through the frigid temperatures and defend Lorsette once again. Those expectations laid hefty upon their shoulders, a burden they were determined to carry with honour when they were finally handed their tasks and sent outside to accomplish their expected jobs. Since deciding to take the sword, the blue-haired man vowed himself to be the hero people needed whenever possible.
[break][break]
Another individual entered the room, signified by the subtle squeak of the door's hinge. Gradually, Fritz's eyes accomplished a sideways glance, his peripheral vision providing a sight of who was approaching. The reaper straightened his position as a familiar, redheaded individual approached. A pair of horns jutting from locations hidden beneath dishevelled, red hair. When the man approached, the reaper shook his head at his words. The man was a fresh transfer into the apprentice stage, and people were discussing, the higher-ups mentioning a possible addition to his responsibilities.
[break][break]
Supposedly, the Terror Response Syndicate were shorted on people currently, thus Fritz was given the impression of that is potentially why Loren was here.
[break][break]
"Yes, I do," Fritz stated. "Are you planning on helping? Cause then you should ask for a uniform so you stay warm."
[break][break]
The handshake was not accepted, Fritz's elite rank showing as decided to assure Loren would get properly dressed for the occupation. These were serious times and unfortunately, the blue-haired man wanted to assure the redhead would be prepared for going heading into the storm. Outside were frigid winds accompanied by needle-like snowflakes as they struck flesh, therefore, each TRS member needed to be outfitted in the specialized uniforms designed to maintain warmth as they travelled through the cold temperatures.

[attr="class","youfallbot2"]WHO WANTS TO BE A HERO
The wind howled wildly outside, the blizzard arriving as expected, but creating power outages across Lorsette alongside a variety of other unexpected problems for the Terror Response Syndicate to handle. There were beliefs of Assembly of Phantoms involvement in the recent affairs plaguing the city, particularly the recent casualties which managed to get reported. Evidently, there was something suspicious happening in Lorsette during the blizzard. There was evidence, the monstrously sized footprints in the snow alongside strange behaviours occurring in the dangerous winter weather. Thus, despite his species being ill-suited for extreme weather conditions, Fritz was requested to come into work. The circumstances around the mission resulted in a sensibility to calling for the assistance of a TRS elite hunter, and one who has been around since the beginning nonetheless. The primary reason for his lack of promotion was the numerous transfers he underwent because of his endless wanderlust before finally settling in Lorsette. Minutes were taken working towards properly dressing, the treacherous journey being unnecessary considering Fritz decided to remain at headquarters after an extensive day of work. There was a safety from the frigid temperatures due to the efforts of various TRS members. [break][break] There was always time spared by the reaper to assure he could survive the temperatures, Fritz being well-aware of the risk factors which arrived with recklessness towards proper dressing; especially in the dangerous 70 mph winds. The special edition jackets, ski pants, gloves and various other cold weather necessities were handed out, the ancient warrior tugging the hefty pieces of clothing. Beneath his clothes was a trio of temperature regulation charms, the blue-haired man thankful he brought one of his own for extra protection against the elements. A thick TRS mandated jacket hugged his shoulders, the dark navies and black colours making the red accents contrast against them. Across the back was the regular impact font, stating TRS alongside the HUNTING DIVISION as expected. On the front displayed the unit and nametag worn at all times by affiliates of the TRS. Carefully, Fritz adjusted the belt which held the scabbard of his broadsword, tightening it around the outside of the thick clothing. The hefty weapon would arrive with the consequence of additional weight, but Fritz knew the sword was a necessity. [break][break] Practicing swordsmanship for centuries resulted in the reaper refusing to leave the weapon behind, the sword being the single component which made him useful. While he lacked the physical enhancements to allow for more extreme blows, Fritz managed to make up for it with skillfulness and quick thinking. A harsh training regiment assisted in making the ancient warrior useful despite his lacking in useful magic; especially considering necromancy required dead bodies to be in the area. Hastily, the reaper adjusted the layers beneath as needed, creating comfort and flexibility for movement since without it, he knew his death would rapidly approach for a second time. Once prepared to face the frigid temperatures, the ancient warrior exited the changing room, heading towards the assigned meeting area for hunters of the second unit. He moved quickly, strides long as he tugged the toque tighter onto his head and brought the hood up, tugging on the drawstrings and adjusting them as needed. [break][break] There were plenty of people being escorted around the TRS headquarters only a mere few minutes after the reaper finished preparing himself for battle. A few were TRS affiliates while others were citizens dressed in thick clothing, those who likely risked their safety in hopes of reaching the headquarters or perhaps those who arrived prior to the blizzard. Gradually, Fritz weaved his way through, most avoiding the tall man with a sword buckled around his waist. As the ancient warrior began approaching the briefing location, he remained uncertain on whether or not he wished to see Vashti on the other side of the door. While the brunette was a graduated hunter, she could be horribly reckless, and considering the dangerous circumstances of the mission, he hoped she was safely at home or perhaps resting somewhere else in the facility. The reaper cared immensely about his former apprentice and closest friend, thus he wished she would remain somewhere safe rather than involved in unit two's mission. Eventually, he arrived at the briefing room, where information would be provided in regards to the mission. [break][break] Upon entry, Fritz surveyed the room, however, the thick clothing the hunters were expected to wear made it impossible for the reaper to notice Vashti should she have been inside the room. A sigh escaped the elite hunter's lips in response as he moved to the far corner, leaning against the wall to observe the crowd, praying he would not witness the brunette's face amidst the hunters working to defend Lorsette on this frigid day.

Adrenaline coursed heavily through Fritz's veins as his calloused hands maintained a tight grip around the leather handle of his beloved broadsword. Panicked screams echoed through the air, citizens frightened for their lives because of the nasty group of troublemakers ruing their day. Despite these fear eaters being a low-class terror, people failed to protect themselves and instead opted to run away from the conflict. Before throwing himself back into the fray, the blue-haired hunter glanced over his shoulder. Assurance over the mother and her child's safety was granted when Fritz's sapphire eyes noticed a black-haired woman leading the mother away. The sight was a relief for the reaper and allowed him to fixate on the other troublemakers in the area. Hesitation became nonexistent as the swordsman charged forward to swipe at the nearest troublemaker which allowed a young man who was defending himself to scurry away. Before expressions or words could be exchanged, the frightened young man ran towards the threshold of the park. Meanwhile, the troublemaker's focus shifted as it stepped back from the strong slash accomplished by the sword-wielder.
[break][break]
Slashes continued as Fritz pressed forward, the troublemaker's steps back proceeding. The reaper's eyes glanced beyond the troublemaker, noticing a nearby tree approaching from behind his target. Immediately, the slashes became faster as a determined gleam entered the ancient warrior's eyes. The current plan was to force his opponent against the tree to finally finish off the dastardly troublemaker. Eventually, the terror's back pressed against the rough surface of the tree, the creature's eyes flaring with panic. Hastily, Fritz slashes his sword horizontally, the blade tearing through the terror, cutting the creature in half. The troublemaker deteriorated into the familiar black dust and promptly coated his blade. The reaper pulled away, sparing another glance at his teammate who completed the destruction of the final terrors. A soft sigh escaped Fritz's lips as he straightened his back, a subtle calm transcending over him as he surveyed the dust-littered park. The aftermath of a battle was obvious from even a meagre glance and furthermore, it was clear it involved the Assembly of Phantoms with the amount of dust. Only seconds passed until Fritz's partner approached him.
[break][break]
The man was a larger build with a scraggly brown beard on a rounder face. Broad set shoulders and a thicker neck made him appear massive in comparison to the lean swordsman. Between the duo, he was the individual who possessed better social grace, thus him starting the conversation was inevitable.
[break][break]
"No injuries on ya, eh Fritz?" He inquired with a jolly smile.
[break][break]
The reaper glanced at his partner, merely providing a nod in response. A sharp shake of the blade sent black dust flying to the ground. Once satisfied by the cleanliness of his blade, Fritz slid the weapon back into its scabbard.
[break][break]
A sigh escaped the man's lips before he spoke again, "Let's go question these people... might be an Assembly soldier lingerin' about."
[break][break]
The man gestured for Fritz to follow, the reaper obeying and following behind his partner. Both were covered in the black dust from war, however, neither sustained any injuries from the altercation. Immediately, his larger partner diverged off to speak with some of the individual's in the area. Briefly, Fritz observed his partner before allowing his sapphire eyes to stray and discover the black-haired woman who assisted with leading civilians away. Slowly, the blue-haired hunter approached the woman, deciding to use the opportunity for both questionings and to provide thanks.
[break][break]
"Excuse me, ma'am?" Fritz began.
[break][break]
The few words were designed to gain her attention to begin the conversation. While the reaper was never considered much of a talker, he would be expected to try given the current situation. Fortunately, the elite hunter figured he could manage the verbal interaction.

[attr="class","youfallbot2"]WHO WANTS TO BE A HERO
Azure reached across the endless skies above, clouds being nonexistent on the pleasant, summer day. In the center was the sun, shining brilliantly over Lorsette, quietly residing over Earth, waiting until nightfall arrived and rest would come. A mere glance out the window would manifest assumptions of normality; a pleasant summer day perfect for swimming and perhaps ice cream. However, Lorsette constantly buzzed with action because of the heightened tourists. Despite the city's plight of terror attacks and Assembly villainy, it managed to remain lively. The unexpected trait of Lorsette oftentimes made it a difficult location to protect without incident. While the TRS attempted to protect citizens where possible, some could not peer into the future. Thus, an elite hunter lurked, prepared and somebody who no longer required sleep. The dark uniform accented with flamboyant reds, an eye-catching piece for any lurking terrors or Assembly members. Frequent surveys of the area were conducted while another man which similar red-coloured accents followed behind him. A team tasked with the removal of a large group of troublemakers in the area, some rumoured the numbers surpassed 20.
[break][break]
The rumours were believed to be speculations manifested by frightened citizens who failed to handle the low-level fear eater. Those alleged additional sightings of terrors nonetheless prompted the TRS to send two elite hunters to avoid the possibility of somebody meeting an untimely demise. Members of the TRS were indispensable to defeat the Assembly of Phantoms. If numbers dwindled, the city could easily become overrun with terrors and despicable Assembly members. Allowing Zeredah to establish her strict rules over Lorsette would only prove she could potentially reign supreme. In silence, the pair wandered, conversation becoming strained because of one’s overly serious attitude. The blue-haired hunter, tall, muscular and stern-faced possessed the name tag ‘Fritz Jacobs’. The TRS uniform wrapped comfortably around his body and a scabbard tightly embracing his waist. Firmly held in the sheath was a sword, evidently old and well-cared for throughout those years. They marched through the scarcely populated area, each searching for the terrors in the area.
[break][break]
Civilians glanced, eyes widened with concern as frowns traced their lips. The presence of TRS hunters confirmed the possibility of terrors being in the area, especially considering they were a pair of elites. They proceeded down the sidewalks, carefully examining the area until a shrill scream reached their ears. Without hesitation or confirmation, the pair began hustling down the sidewalk while citizens hurried in the other direction. Noises led them into Crow Feather Park, neither hesitating for even a moment. Haste allowed the scene to appear, several troublemakers were attempting to harm innocent people. Immediately, the pair moved towards their separate targets, Fritz rushing towards a mother defending her child with a force field. Unfortunately, she did not appear skilled in the field, especially with her young child wailing beside her, obviously frightened. A single calloused, scarred hand reached across to the left side of Fritz's waist, grasping the broadsword's handle and drawing the weapon. From behind, the reaper slashed hard at the troublemaker's head, slicing it clean off. The fear eater went limp before transforming into dust.
[break][break]
The frightened mother glanced at the TRS hunter, surprised, but perhaps grateful despite the pang of fear created by his reaper genes. She quickly snatched up her toddler, keeping him close and hastily brushing away her blonde hair while Fritz moved around her. Another troublemaker approached, long, shadowy claws reaching out in an attempt to cut down the elite hunter, however, he blocked with his sword. There was a fluent nature to Fritz's movements and actions as he remained strong under the claws of his enemy. In a mere few seconds, he sparked his fear inducement, stunning the fear eater which allowed the blue-haired man to push back. He slashed strongly, broadsword slicing through the creature's arm. A hiss of pain escaped its lips, however, the torment for the terror would promptly end as Fritz stepped forward and proceeded to cut his enemy down. Several large cuts were across the troublemaker's torso until finally deteriorating into dust. Afterwards, the elite hunter glanced around, noticing his partner continue working while he searched for a new enemy. The troublemakers needed to be defeated after all, and Fritz knew it would not be long.
