Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Sophia Stein, daughter of the infamous Mad Doctor Victor Stein of the Town of Frank, or 'Dr. Frankenstein' as many call him now, has several predecessor Flesh Golems few were successful, but one famously survived the process, and has been unaccounted for, since their escape from the lab.
I am looking for 1-4 'Siblings' created by Dr. Stein before his final work of creating his daughter's new body, including the famous 'Frankenstein's Monster', and if anyone wants to plot it, The Bride of the Monster.
Zephyr Wolfe
Zephyr Wolfe, the prodigy weapons developer of the TRS. Not many knew him before he came to Lorsette, And fewer still know what he did during the 2 years before he joined the TRS full time, after running away from his cousin, Roland. During this time, he sparked up a relationship of convenience, with a fine young lass. Was she manipulative? Or was she simply needy and unaware of her behavior's impacts? YOU DECIDE!
Zephyr remembers the relationship as one of constant nagging and manipulation into doing things to benefit this little lady, but well, we all know how 'great' he is at reading people. Hes terrible. My god, i could of made him out of a neutron star, and he still wouldnt have been as dense...
Pongo Atwater
Pongo is the last of his Tribe, or is he? Pongo has had many lovers, friends, and companions over the millennia. Maybe he even has a few kiddos lurking about! This wanted ad is a little more open to creative flow, as he just needs someone to connect him to his past (and get his posts rolling!)
Or maybe he needs someone new, who enjoys the potent acid and hellfire that he calls chili.
Species: Human Gifted (only required power being Zoopathy, the ability to communicate telepathically with animals)
History: Ten years ago would have somehow survived a terror attack that killed the rest of the family (except Zephyr), just fill in some blanks for why she was missing for 10 years >.>
Rebecca 'Rori'
Parents: (mother) Oritama (father) Oritama
Genders: Female and Male
Ages: Would need to be in 40s at minimum
Species: although her history says both are ungifted, you can be creative, and i will adjust as this is not plot important, just tyr to make sure at least 1 is human.
History: got married. Mother is a game programmer (American, race is open for creativity), father is chef (Japanese). Rori ran away at 16 (now 17, almost 18) so that is a point of plot.
Xander
Children: Twins. Names open.
Genders: one male, one female, although this can be adjustable.
Ages: would be at least 400 years old. Actual time of plot point not set in stone. Born in France.
Species: Human/Neanderthal hybrids, gifted with immortality, or possibly some type of undead due to plot point. Or one could be gifted, the other undead.
History: Born to Xander, immortal neanderthal, and a french woman in the country side. Strangled, presumably to death (or the appearance of death) after theirs mother death to disease, and Xander's following mental breakdown (which lasted a good 100 years). (Reasoning for their deatyhs: he did not want to see them die slowly, and did not want them to suffer as their mother had. they can be aware of this, or unaware, depending on your plot decisions)
Annette had been told not to go to the park alone. They said it was Dangerous. That monsters would eat her up. But to the 7 yr old girl, the idea of meeting a real monster, not the Angels, or Demons or Shape-shifters she saw everyday, but a REAL monster, was exciting.
And that was how she met Mister Troll. The giant, green, moss covered creature with eyes like bottomless pits. Mister Troll had been sitting, confused, and hurt, with a bleeding cut on his arm when she found him. The blood had been strange, turning to smoke before it dripped off his skin, but she knew that cuts were super painful. So being the Good Girl she was, she had used one of her very precious, favoritist Princess Moon Moon bandages to try and help.
Mister Troll had gotten better, and she had started reading stories to him. she had only just learned to read, and it seemed Mister Troll couldnt read at all! So Annette had read him stories. The Princess and the Wolf. The Demon and the Peddler. All of her favorite stories where people and creatures that were supposed to be evil were actually really nice and good.
What Annette didnt know was that Mister Troll was actually a Terror Brute, currently under the influence of a strange Fae Creature, called simply, The Trickster.
Do not use drama to get attention in the chat. Nobody appreciates it.
