abilities Gifted: Clairvoyance – Alistair posses the power of second sight. Allowing him to see things that may happen in the future. Although nothing is for sure, and there are many paths that the future can take. He can only do this if he is far away from all distractions and focusing intently. If the concentration is broken, then the vision is also broken. This ability cannot be used in combat, as there is too much going on. Unknown Unknown backstory Alistair Kaine was born to a very poor family in New York City. His young life was uneventful until he reached the age of 10 and both of his parents were killed in a house fire. Rather than going into the system and quietly disappearing he decided to take his chances with living on the streets and make his own path in the world. He was intelligent, shockingly so, and was able to help others with their issues in exchange for food or a warm place to sleep. But it was never enough. He wasn’t satisfied with that style of living. Believing that he was destined for greater things. So he set a plan in motion to form a group. A group of outcasts that weren’t welcome anywhere else. Orphans like himself that had no one, that he could rely on and they in turn could rely on him. He would call this group The Enclave. And with that his first ability was awakened. He saw clearly everything that his group could be. Around this time that he met another orphan. She was younger than him, but he was drawn to her for some unknown reason. The girl had managed to survive on her own on the rough streets of New York. He learned that her name was Asuka and that she was from Japan. The two of them banded together and he asked her to be the very first to join The Enclave. With someone else helping him, and her enhanced speed and gift of ice manipulation, it was easy for the two of them to pull in enough money to survive. While the two of them were walking on the street they ran upon what appeared to be a back alley brawl. There were 3 men surrounding what appeared to be another teenager, one of them even wielding a knife. As Alistair’s eyes fell upon the boy and watched how smoothly he dispatched the 3 assailants he knew he wanted him to join his group. He approached the other kid warily and asked him if he’d like to join him and Asuka, to go get food. The other youth, whose named turned out to be Aidan Alexander happily accepted the offer, and the 3 of them became inseparable. His group had gained another powerful member. Over the next few years he began to set in motion a plan for his group to expand from merely pick pocketing and street fighting to include working as mercenaries. As he was around 16 at the time, he didn’t think that police would pin such high profile crimes on a group of orphaned children. He had pulled in two more members by that time and had he started to take work from various mafioso pitting them against each other. Always one step ahead of anyone else. Playing chess while everyone else played checkers. The Enclave reaped more rewards than they had all imagined. Alistair had a private base built for them inside of an old warehouse that had been condemned. He paid everyone handsomely for their efforts and helped them to build their lives in whatever way they fashioned, as long as they remained committed to him. He was their leader, always staying at the central command post and giving orders while the rest of the group went in to do their mission. Failure was never an option, and somehow his group always managed to get away without incurring any casualties. He expected most of that had to do with Aidan’s natural leadership and charisma. He loathed the way the others looked up to and relied on him. He was after all the only reason they were living with such class. Aidan was nothing more than a lackey. Regardless of how he felt, he hid his anger and jealousy well. And even taught Aidan how to properly fight with a sword, bequeathing upon him his own sword when he felt the man had mastered the craft well enough. Having been together for 8 years, the group was like a family. And then they pulled in their final member. A twelve year old kid named Tatsuya. The group seemed to adopt the young boy, and Alistair was happy with this. He had seen all of this through his gift, as well as what the kid’s abilities would be. Everything was going according to plan… He then feigned receiving news of a possible highly sought after artifact being held in an underground government facility. It was the thing he had been searching for, he was sure of it. A stone of limitless power, said to have the ability absorb human souls. But the rumors said it required two deaths to activate. A willing sacrifice and the death of another. Alistair sent The Enclave in to retrieve the stone, with one exception, that he was going in this time personally to retrieve the item. The group reached the stone without incident as professional and perfect as ever. He reached out and grasped the stone in his hand feeling the warmth through his gloved hand. He turned to the others and gave the order to move out. As the group moved to the exit a group of highly trained soldiers blocked their path. Alistair motioned for his group to intercept the soldiers and told them that he would protect the objective. He then darted into a nearby corridor while the rest were getting ready to fight and easily passed the soldiers in the hallway. Ones that he had hired. “Kill Aidan..he’s the tall one in the front...” he whispered the one of the guards as he briskly walked past, holding the stone and heading towards a stairwell. As he reached it he waited to see if it would absorb the soul of Aidan. Hearing a lots of commotion and a loud bang that sounded like a grenade he smiled smugly to himself and headed for the exit. But nothing happened. The stone didn’t gain any power or glow, or anything. Why! Why isn’t it working! he thinks as he squeezes it tightly and opens the exit, leaving the building and turning on his coms now, telling the others that he and the package were safe and secure. He headed back to their home base, telling the others he would meet them there. He waited on them to arrive, and watch with an intense hatred in his eyes as Aidan entered the base, covered in blood, along with Asuka and everyone else. He noticed that 006 was carrying a body wrapped in a sheet and he realized that Tatsuya was missing. And that everyone was wearing a face of shell shocked horror. Such a waste...he would have been strong. I guess this lifestyle just wasn’t for him. he thinks as he starts to step out of the command center and greet the rest of them. He congratulated them on their job well done and said that the mission was a resounding success. Even though there were casualties. He glanced at Aidan and saw the anger and sorrow in the man’s face as he looked at him. His cold blue eyes locked onto Aidan’s own. He listened to them talk and repeat what had happened. All of them in shock. Aidan refused to speak and simply stood there gazing down at his own hands. Which were also covered in blood. After he had dismissed them, he headed back to his command post, he noticed that Aidan was following him now. “What is it?” he asked coldly as Aidan stared at him. It took him a second to realize that Aidan was on the verge of falling to pieces and he dismissed the man as being weak. “How can you say that was a success? We lost Tatsuya out there! He was so young….he didn’t deserve to die like that...” Aidan said emotion flooding his voice. It was everything he could do to keep from openly weeping. “This is his blood on my hands Alistair. That grenade...” he couldn’t finish as he dropped his eyes and stared down at his hands. Alistair stared at him fixedly and decided that he would make his move now. “Aidan. Why don’t you meet me, tonight at 0300 hours at that old underpass we used to train under. The one where I taught you how to use a blade. Do you remember it?” he asked as he stares at shocked man. “Yes, I remember...But why? After what just happens the team needs us. We need each other. Alistair it was my fault, he died protecting me!” Aidan said in a rush as he drops to his knees and grabs the front of Alistair’s coat, now openly weeping. “Aidan, meet me in an hour.” he said as he pulls himself away the man and watches him fall to all fours. “Hmph. Weak.” he muttered softly as he strode out of the room and headed to his own. As he reached it he closed and locked the door behind him. He then opened the book on Occultism on his desk and began to draw strange runes on his chest and stomach. He had to get ready for his sacrifice. Infinite power! And i’ll make sure I kill Aidan this time... he thinks with a smile as he picks up the katana and heads out of the room. As he reaches the underpass, it started to rain. He didn’t mind, the runes had already dried on his skin and this part of the city was long deserted. No traffic ever came through here. He steps from the shadows shirtless and notices that Aidan is standing in the rain his eyes turned up to the sky, holding the other sword, the twin to his own, that he had given him. He came thinking we were going to train. That’s good. I’d much rather enjoy this killing. he thinks as he touches the small red stone that was in his pocket now. “Hello Aidan.” he said as Aidan drops his head and looks at him. As Aidan does so he unsheathes his own blade and tosses the sheath to the side out of the way. “Draw your sword now. I have something to tell you.” Aidan did as he was bid, looking slightly confused but still nonetheless wary. He looked at the strange markings etched into Alistair’s skin. He didn’t recognize any of the symbols and wondered if they’d come from one of the strange books on Occultism that Alistair had taken to studying recently. The man had always had a fondness for reading, and he had never really been social to the rest of them. Aidan knew that he and Asuka had spent more time with Alistair than any of the others, mainly because they’d known him when he was so young. “Alright. What do you want to tell me Alistair?” Aidan asked as he raises the sword and begins to slowly circle as Alistair does the same. Their eyes locking and Aidan completely unable to read the cold blue eyes. “I did it. I told the soldiers where we would be, and they failed simple orders. They deserved to die. All that blood on you. I know it wasn’t from Tatsuya alone...you wouldn’t allow someone to live if they killed the people you cared about Aidan. Your too damn weak! Always limiting yourself by watching out for others, trying to hold back your true strength! Pathetic! I want you to fight me at your full potential right now. Let that berserker rage come out. I told them to kill you!” he snarled for the first time letting his true feelings show as he dashes forward swinging his katana down fast, aiming to hopefully slice Aidan cleanly in two. But the man brought up his own sword in time to block the attack. “You...did this….” Aidan said as his wet hair hung in his face shielding his eyes. Remembering the last thing that Tatsuya had said to him. Aidan pushed Alistair’s blade out of the way and swung his own attack for the man’s throat. Their blades sang as they continued their fighting each strike seeming an echo of their anger and hatred for one another. Alistair was a much better swordsman and tried to fight with his usual finesse but his anger was hazing his mind. Nevertheless he was still able to use Aidan’s own strength and ferocity against him. Aidan fought with insane rage, taking several of Alistair’s attacks and just barely getting out of the way in time to avoid being mortally wounded. Alistair’s blade sliced deep bleeding cuts into Aidan’s chest. Aidan finally swung down on Alistair with all of his force, his own blade snapping Alistair’s in two. Alistair quickly grabbed Aidan’s wrist and twisted them disarming him of the sword, and snatching it out of the air before turning around and swinging down, feeling the triumph of victory as Aidan’s sword sunk into the man’s flesh. Sinking a good 3 inches into the man’s left shoulder. At the same time he felt a searing pain in his own chest and felt hot liquid running down his chest and stomach. He glanced down and noticed that Aidan had caught his own broken sword and had plunged the broken blade into his own heart. He stared down at the blade in shock. His eyes raising to Aidan’s face as he saw tears in the eyes of the one man he hated. Aidan twisted the broken sword, and wrapped an arm around Alistair’s back helping the dying man to the ground. Feeling his life’s blood run out of him his cold blue eyes fell on Aidan as the man cried silently, the rain hiding his tears but not his red eyes. Hearing Aidan’s continuous ‘why?’ grow fainter and fainter. He raised his blue eyes and looked up at the rain as he died. With Alistair dead, Aidan lowered his body gently to the pavement, he reached up and grabbed his own sword which was sunk into his left shoulder and had caused even more damage when he caught the dying Alistair. He pulled the blade free and tossed it to the sidewalk, deciding then that he would leave. He stood to his feet, headed to his bike, where he always kept a pack with a few extra change of clothes and left. Alistair opened his eyes, and found that it was morning. He sat up slowly, gasping for air. He glanced down at his chest and saw that the sword was still stuck in him. He pulled it free and tossed it to the pavement, noticing that Aidan’s own way lying nearby. The runes on his body were gone. He was alive. Had the power of the stone worked? Something had brought him back. He stood slowly to his feet and headed off toward their base. He was already forming a plan, believing that Aidan had told the others of his treachery. But when he arrived Aidan was nowhere to be seen. Alistair was delighted, he would now find a way to pin everything on Aidan, He told the others that Aidan was responsible for everything that had happened and that he had fled when Alistair confronted him. He asked the rest of the group if they would help him track Aidan down. With their affirmation he set out at once. He would die. Alone and hated, in great pain. He would suffer... misc Have some random facts about your character you want to share?
