Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Aines took a deep breath, exhaling the cool air of the quiet open area he was sitting in. Children of all kind ran around him, some played with kites while others lightly roughhoused with each other. At one point, a boy was climbing on his back. The forgotten dragon agreed to watch the children from a nearby local daycare until their caretaker returned from the errand they were on.
Resting his head in his hand while sitting crisscrossed, he chucked to himself. It was just like this in Heaven where he'd enjoy some nice quality time with his only friend up there. There was no fighting, just coping with whatever came. Suddenly, a small finger tip tapped on his large shoulder.
'Sir, it's too sunny out now. Way too hot, can we move so we can keep playing'?
Looking up at the sky, Aines laughed. It sure was hot out today. Extremely sunny as well...
"No need, little man," was all he said as he extended his arm upwards. A low growl burned through the air as he muttered one of his favorite words: "Blackout." Suddenly, from every dark crevice in the ground, the shadows shook as darkness rose up into the air. From his extended hand, dark blue substance joined the ensemble of darkness until the sky above the kids was partially covered, providing shade of blue and black. While not enough to completely block out the sunlight, it was enough for the temperature to drop a few degrees. For dramatic effect, he put in effort to change the color of everyone's shadows near him to true blue. It seemed to appease the kids; they kept playing, so Aines went back to relaxing, ignoring the question stares he was getting.
Just about to doze off, he felt someone approaching.
"Here to play too? There's room right here," Aines patted the ground beside him, "Come on and enjoy the shade. And the light."
Ryuu was bored out of his mind, so he decided to go outside and take a walk. He also decided to take his violin with him. He walked for hours until he noticed a lot of children were playing. It reminded him of his days at the orphanage. How he missed those days.
The twenty-five-year-old man observed the man that was sitting underneath the tree. "Thanks, I think I will take a seat."
"Do you need help taking care of these children?" There were many of them. Luckily, they didn't appear to be a rowdy bunch. Ryuu figured he could calm them with his violin.
Aines smiled at the affirmation and moved over a bit.
"Sure! It seems like their energy never drops not even for a moment," he said, yawning. It was true, they've been constantly playing for quite some time now not that he minded. It was just tiresome guarding and keeping them soothed, the latter he wasn't too good at. At all. "Name's Aines..." Glancing quickly at the man, he nodded, "Musician."
"Thank you." He said as he sat down. "Nice to meet you Aines. My name is Ryuu Armada."
"Perhaps they could use a nap." He pulled up his violin and began to play. It was a soft sound that emanated from the violin. He hoped it would soothe the children to sleep or at least calm them down for a bit.
Ryuu, a dragon sounding name belonging to a human, he liked his new companion already. As he watched Ryuu play his instrument, he noticed the children slowly beginning to gather to listen in, some pulling others out of curiosity.
"You're pretty good," Aines exclaimed. "Where'd you learn how to play like that?" As the music continued, Aines would increase the amount of shade present, blocking out even more of the light in an attempt to make the little ones feel tired in the cool dark.
"Thank you." He learned to play the violin on his own when he was younger. Being in an orphanage, caused him to pick up an instrument to calm the little ones as well.
"I learned how to play when I was little. I was horrible at first, but as I practiced and practiced, I got better." He nodded. "I'm just glad I can use the skill to help us out here today."
"That's good! You kept at something until you were better than yesterday. Respectable." Glancing at the kids listening, sleeping, and some still playing around quietly behind him under the shade, he was reminded of his youth, but shook off the feeling. "Ahh I haven't picked up an instrument since the Spartan War near Athens and Greece."
