Enthusiastic was one way to say it; she certainly had grabbed the other additional apron that was laying around to wear so she could match with her mother. It was way too big to fit her and yet she eagerly put it on without care for the fact it had been hanging more than it should've. Her small arms and hands fidgeted with the attempt of trying to tie it behind her back but a small huff represented her momentarily giving it up and allowing the tie straps to fall back down to her side. The golem figured she could've asked Eris to assist her upon her arrive but for now she eagerly glanced around the kitchen. It was the first time she had gotten the chance to make anything... and Lulu wondered if she truly would be able to do anything of real value. [break] [break]

Not wanting to make mistakes or mess up the dinner the three of them intended to make together. It was a special moment for all of them, a time where they could bond and have a nice laugh about something while Astraea taught them to make good fries and hamburgers. Lulu waddled slowly on over to the sink, being mindful to not trip over the apron as she stepped upon the step stool that stood before the sink! First things first was she had to wash her hands... it was important. She knew she shouldn't be touching food without doing this first so she leaned over to turn on the water, hands slapping a bit of the dish soap onto her hands to where she rubbed them together, watching the soapy suds come to life only to be rinsed away by the lukewarm water moments later. [break] [break]

During her eager hand washing session is when she heard shuffling behind her. Her face remained as neutral as always but the tone of her voice was enough to sense her happiness in seeing her brother finally make his appearance. "Ohh! Eris... you're here." She turned off the water and carefully stepped down from the stool before she made her way over to him. It wasn't long before their mother had followed after him and the three of them were finally gathered. "Mom is here too.... are you guys happy to be cooking together?" She asked with a slight tilt of her head, her lips do their best to give a smile. Though the dangling of the apron straps reminded her and she let out a soft gasp. [break] [break]

"Oh right... " Her head dropped down to look at the apron before she slowly turned around. "Eris... do you mind helping me tie this? I couldn't do it on my own... it was very hard and I had to give up on it..."

[attr="class","eristalk"]The clacking of Eris' fingers against the keyboard echoed through the young boy's room as he finished up his homework. On Monday, the bakeneko's assignment would be due. A simple persuasive essay, each with topics like 'should the death penalty exist?' or 'should cigarettes be illegal?' as examples for the topic. In Eris' case, after a quick google search days prior and a feeding curiosity picked the of 'Does social media improve or hurt our society?', though, the topic arrived with difficulties to avoid fence-sitting.

In the end, he picked the former, though, still discussed the hindrances while rallying back with communicative uses alongside stating the harmful portions could be addressed through the intervention of others. Gradually, his fingers pressed the remaining keys, thoughts churning to make a powerful closing paragraph with the edits of his peer review. Briefly, the dark-haired student's amber eyes flitted towards the time displayed on his computer. Soon, he would be expected downstairs to assist with the cooking efforts for the evening.

A smile breached Eris' face as his fingers picked up the pace to finish his homework for the weekend. Excitement roamed his veins similar to electricity at the thought of making supper with his adopted mother, Astraea, and his little sister Lulu. Tonight, they would be cooking homemade fries and hamburgers for their supper. The meal sounded like a treat and furthermore, the addition of cooking together gave the possibility to learn from his mother. The sounds of keyboard clicks intensified as Eris hastily completed the finishing paragraph of his essay.

Immediately afterwards, his fingers automatically clicked CTRL + S to save the document in its current condition. He shoved away from the desk when completed, deciding to read over his essay after supper. The mouse clicked several times as Eris placed the computer into a sleep mode. He turned away moments later, pushing in his chair and leaving his English binder open, rough draft facing up. He walked towards his closed bedroom door, turning the knob and heading into the nearby hallway. The door closed behind him, the young boy soon navigating the house to head to the kitchen.

Dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, Eris entered the kitchen to discover his younger sister and mom. He flashes his sister and mother a friendly smile. At the mentioning of being happy to cook together, Eris nodded enthusiastically.

"Yeah! It will be so fun!" He said, bouncing on his feet.

A gentle 'oh' left his lips when Lulu requested his help with tying the back straps of her over-sized apron. He hurried over, grabbing the pair of straps. Carefully, he wrapped them around Lulu, tying them together in a semi-loose bow to avoid squeezing her on accident.

"There! That better, Lulu?" He inquired cheerfully. "It was probably hard cause it is so big on you!"

Once he received an answer, the bakeneko approached the sink. Unlike his sister, Eris was tall enough to reach the taps and soap. With haste, he poured a small portion of dish soap on his hands and rubbed them together. White suds coated his palms in fingers until being rinsed away by the warm water; from his species, he tended to keep the water hot for his sake. Afterwards, he shook his hands off and turned off the taps. Once a dish towel was located, he dried them off and was prepared to start cooking.

Take my hand and forge a way―

Astraea had put special consideration into the events of the day, and had been looking forward to it ever since the event had been planned by the three of them. Fries and hamburgers was a quick and easy thing to learn, as well as a food item that many tended to enjoy. Astraea had pulled out various spices and dishes that would be necessary to make the meal, and set them on the counters and table. There were a lot of options when it came to building a hamburger, as it was an easily customizable meal. There was a variety of spices and toppings, not to mention things like sauces.

The angel finds herself washing her own hands as it didn’t become occupied, getting the basics out of the way. For a few moments she wonders if perhaps she had planned a bit too much, but surely nothing bad could come from over preparation. Astraea only wanted the best for the children under her care, and that had reflected into tonight’s plans. She had gathered almost everything possible for a hamburger cooking session, though she hadn’t neglected fry possibilities either. She had made absolutely sure she had all proper dishes washes or purchased, and had gone over all possible ways of the making process itself. The best experience possible, even if this wasn’t the dish she was the most well versed in herself. ”I think we’ll all do a wonderful job together. We’ll have a lot of fun, right?” The blonde angel’s smile was infectious, genuine in it’s warmth.

At least, she hoped it would be a fun experience. With how tightly knit the angel’s family had been and still tended to be, family activities had always been prevalent when she herself had been in her growing stages. Now that everyone was all set to go, Astraea was ready to start. ”Alright, now that we’ve all cleaned up, we should be set to learn! By the way, Lulu, that looks absolutely adorable on you. You look especially ready!”

Astraea’s voice was warm, her tone gentle and enthusiastic. Stepping to where she kept the beef, she got the appropriate things to mix it with out as well, and places the beef into a large bowl. ”The first step is to figure out which things we would like to mix it with...” Astraea paused, gesturing a hand at all the things she had gathered, from different seasonings to sauces. ”Then I’ll show you how to mix it and form it into patties!”
