appearance Nicolas has natural dirty blonde hair and never does much with it other than style it, he never puts it in a ponytail or clips it back. His eye color is a simple and plain brown, he's about 5'9, weights 145lbs and has an average body build. He's muscular, but not overly so. He has no piercings or tattoos of any kind. But he does have a scar on his left hand it's small and not too noticeable, but notable. His horns are a black, but not pitch black. His clothes are nothing special, and consist of jeans t-shirts, etc whatever he's in the mood for. He has a necklace with a simple silver chain that's wrapped around a piece of chipped horn roughly the size of a golf ball. personality Bold = Positive Underline = Negative Due to his upbringing and events throughout his life Nicolas has developed into an independent person. He has learned to rely on himself because unlike everything else in his life he's the only one who will remain stable. However, this has come with the disadvantage of being unreliable towards others which isn't something Nicolas is even entirely aware of. Being temperamental is something he inherited from his first father Volac. Though over the years and because of the people he has been exposed to, Molly, his uncle Pertis and even Volac, he doesn't let himself to be a short fuse. Nicolas deals with the world through sarcasm and withdrawing from those around him. Again, only one person was consistently stable in his life and that person is now dead. It's made him not care, to go his own way and avoid getting close to others. But the hardships he's endured haven't made him weak, in fact he's tough both physically and emotionally. He also doesn't lack confidence in himself, but being a demon has always been about surviving, hasn't it? He can be described as impulsive but that mostly comes out during confrontational situations that are generally aggressive. He doesn't tend to put up with anyone walking over him and if someone gets in his face he has no fear of putting them in their place. Especially, since deep down he's always been conscientious when it comes to his own beliefs in what is right or true to him but that's something he's still developing. This doesn't go for all situations and despite his closed off demeanor, Nicolas is naturally an extrovert so he isn't afraid to start up a conversation or approach someone on his own, it's just a matter of being in the mood. abilities Fire Manipulation & Darkness Manipulation --- Intermediate Control Nicolas likes his fire ability more than using darkness. But he's advanced both of them due to not being very well off in his other abilities. With both fire and darkness he can create it without a source and control it well enough. He's still learning and growing, but his true strength relies in his willpower. Like with any ability if he overuses it then he risks death and a longer regeneration period. He's pushed himself in the past too hard but still hasn't quite learned his lesson yet. Possession--- Beginner Control Nicolas was forced to learn this when he was younger and hated every moment of it. Being able to possess someone has always been uncomfortable to him. But at the same time he still wanted to understand the power enough to avoid being someone's else's puppet. Hexes--- Intermediate Control Healing and disguise are the most important abilities Nicolas was taught to learn in his demon training. Summoning is something Nicolas really enjoyed when he was younger, but could never get the hang of it which frustrated him. However, as an adult he relies on himself rather than some creature to aid him. So, in the end it worked out for him. Fire Immunity & Enhanced Endurance (Natural) backstory Nicolas' upbringing was anything but ordinary. His mother was the victim of his father Volac, who sought to use her weak human form to gift his lover, Kenneth with a child he began to desperately want. Nicolas unintentionally harmed her during childbirth due to his horns causing internal bleeding and Volac had no qualm with leaving her to die. From there Kenneth was ecstatic to have what he wanted, but not without performing a blood bond between the two so that he would be sound of mind that no traces of his wretched mother existed. However, despite his enthusiasm, Kenneth had a fickle nature and therefore his attention was never permanent. Nannies were hired off and on until Nicolas was four and a half years old. Nicolas' household consisted of a few important things growing up. One, Volac ensured that his son was not weak. He was the only one to raise a hand to him and even encouraged him to fight back...to remain strong and to not cry. Nicolas was also enlisted as soon as he was six years old to train with other demon family groups to control his powers and learn how to protect himself. But the second most important factor was his fathers feelings towards women. They each had their own individual reasons for hating them, but they took great care in raising their son with the mindset of women being distrustful, weak and leeches. It wasn't until age eight that Nicolas' world completely changed. A large terror attack struck suddenly while he was within the demon training grounds and a boy by the name of Boris Metellion whose family had a deep rooted vendetta against his, used the chaos to his advantage and hexed Nicolas in an attempt to send him to his death. Luckily, although severely wounded a young witch by the name of Molly saved him. His fathers however were not as fortunate, both were heavily wounded and Kenneth fell into a coma. Volac tried to find his son through a hex, but due to his weakened state he gave no signal and was assumed dead. This marked a very important time during Nicolas' life because Molly was nothing like his parents, she was stubbornly caring and patient with the boy who at first showed such hostility towards her. But through five years time Nicolas grew to love her and was given in return that same emotion. Tragedy was the ultimate outcome of this bond. Kenneth had awoken from his coma and in his distraught state over the mention of his son being dead, he performed a sight hex that revealed the whereabouts of his kin. Volac was the one to arrive at their home and he killed Molly without mercy...without a care for his son's pleading to spare her life. The entire scenario caused a great rift between them and Nicolas tried to find comfort in Kenneth who also held Volac in contempt for losing their son. It was a dark time in their history but something that was eventually laid to rest. However, certain wounds would never truly be healed. Their little family continued to stay within Volac's father's large estate where much of their extended relatives resided and passed through. During this time Nicolas became somewhat close to his uncle Pertis, but he had grown a wall towards others and even became distant from Kenneth. It was but two years later that Kenneth insisted they move and start anew. Volac is reluctant, but their son voiced no complaints because he had formed no solid attachment. Within the new city Nicolas is pushed to attend an all boys academy and despite having others interested in him...the young demon still had trouble returning that interest or rather caring enough. However, that changed when he happened to meet a certain girl outside of school. She was the first person he had been able to form an interest with, but from the beginning, it was a faulty reason. He had met her once before while with Molly and that became his only true purpose for pursuing her. While everything else to do with her personality was all things he just tolerated. Needless to say their eventual relationship ended poorly when his old nemesis Boris purposely wedged between them. This became Nicolas' own personal memory and bitter taste of truth regarding women's fickle nature that his parents had continually exposed him to. Ironically the situation ended up bringing him and his father Volac closer due to him happening across the little incident. For once he became an ear for Nicolas' venting and offered him an outlet at his mechanic shop; a motorcycle in need of repairing. The ex-girlfriend was kept a secret between the two, but despite that Kenneth on his own once again began pressuring Nicolas to seek out a male partner. But unlike before his second father connivingly used his 'frail' health to guilt his son. It was a difficult situation for the teen, but one that became overthrown by something far more sinister. Terror sightings had become more frequent within their city until the eventual evacuation was issued. Volac wouldn't risk the lives of his family and for a time they return to his father's estate while the chaos ensued. Nicolas hated leaving another city to be destroyed, but he was reminded that their family looked after their own and no one else.
