Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Lyra had another hit today. Her social media was buzzing about another family leaving for the weekend. She jolted up from her bed as her alarm buzzed off, People should really not post about those situations on their social media. Oh well, it made things quite simple for her. She gathered her things in her over the shoulder bag. Lockpick, tensioner, binoculars, and a bit of makeup to hide the other things in her bag. She actually had food in her fridge this time, she had stolen some exquisite food from another families house just a few blocks away from the current one. She made herself some Canadian bacon. She loved every bite. She then decided to watch some television, a little bit of True Crime to sharpen her own skills and to know what not to do to avoid being caught. leaving the house a mess as she got dressed deciding to sport a simple black & red dress. Lyra made her way out of the apartment locking the door behind her. She had a pretty damn good lock on her door too. She strolled through the hallway making her way to the stairs.
Taking her time down the stairs she yawned while heading towards her objective. It was pretty dark out now, just the way she liked it both being a raccoon and a night owl. She made her way slowly to her objective. She noticed the manor itself was light up, but she could easily sneak in without causing suspicion by shifting. She found an area in the dark and quickly began shifting from her human form into her raccoon form. She made sure to drop her tensioner and lockpick out of the bag first in case there was a door or something she needed to lockpick.
Picking up the tensioner and lockpick she began walking across the street on her two back legs. It was very unusual to see the raccoon walking through the street on two legs rather than four. She made her way to the gate pad lock and stuck her tensioner into the pad lock. It took about 1 minute of work simply because she had less dexterity in her raccoon form than human. After popping the padlock open she was able to move the gates open a little bit and sneak inside the main area. She put her lockpick and tensioner inside her mouth as she scurried on all fours through the main yard of the manor. She made her up to the front door, which was made of glass. She peered in sticking her paws against the glass. Her tail swayed lightly in the night wind as she moved from the glass leaving two little paw marks on the glass.
She made her way around into the back yard and made her way up to a little doggy door. She tried sqeeuzing through but the door had a lock on it. She groaned, turning back into her human form with the lockpicks in hand. She then quickly made work of the lock on the door. In a matter of 30 seconds the lock was picked and opened and Lyra slinked her way into the Manor, closing the door behind her. It was dark in here, but that was okay! She could see enough, and she would keep most the lights off to avoid alerting the neighbor, a mistake she made before. She relocked the door behind her and began making her way to the main bedroom. They had to have all the shiniest things in there right? She reverted back to her raccoon form having a better time fumbling around in the dark as a smaller creature that had it's hands on the ground. She scurried her way up the stairs making her way to the top alcove and then fumbling over to the first bedroom, but it wasn't the main bedroom. As a raccoon she still started opening up the drawers to look for any valuables.

Social media hungry families brought advantages for the starving thief. Plenty of pictures were taken by the youngest, sixteen-year-old daughter of the Avard family. She wished to become a social media sensation and a high-quality model with complete disregard of the requirements. Her parents followed behind with wheelbarrows of support without a penny of thought to the complications. She was a pretty thing, but known for a rotten attitude and starting dramas with fans and other wannabe models. People despised the foolish actions of an arrogant teen.
[break][break]
Although, somebody lived off the prevalent nature of her photos. Quietly, Jayden spent a few eves scoping the wealthy Avard home via the backgrounds of the "model's" photographs. To further this, the young wannabe social media celebrity accomplished house tours to display her lavish lifestyle to all. She wished to make people envious, little was she aware, it would backfire. Despite the home's gated community, there was limited indoor security other than a mere few door alarms, but even those could be bypassed.
[break][break]
By making their residence a gated community, they thought they overlooked nothing... but Jayden planned on proving them incorrect. There was a hankering for thieving for the young kleptomaniac, furthermore, he wanted to surprise his brother. Despite the incessant flirting and making people believed he was libidinous and heavily lustful, Jayden wanted to treat his twin, Caden, to pleasantries occasionally. Usually, this consisted of stealing his brother something with the connotations of wealth to impress young men and women... what else would the fling-hungry man want?!
[break][break]
Nonetheless, the mission to the manor would be a solo excursion. As he stuffed a fabric bag into his pocket, Jayden quietly prayed he could discover an alternative item for Caden... The last thing he wished to have his ears teeming with was chatter about how flings enjoyed being in bed with his brother. Only the gods could rescue him from Caden's lustful tendencies... Carefully, the thief grabbed his favoured hat, adjusting it atop his head. Compared to other robbers, Jayden was unique with a light, green dress shirt covered his chest while a pair of black jeans covered his leg.
[break][break]
People were plenty aware of the infamous Klepto, however, his position as an Assembly of Phantoms member granted to immunity. He kept himself hidden enough and maintained the air of stealth, but citizens knew his face. He was Klepto, a man to allegedly have more abilities than an average gifted, leading to confusion as to his species; nobody knew Caden existed. Furthermore, Jayden was the individual who kicked a bodyguard into a brick wall hard enough for the bricks to crack. Either way, Jayden was known for offensive tactics while Caden created notoriety for the intellectual side and information gathering.
[break][break]
They were a well-oiled machine.
[break][break]
Once prepared, Jayden neared his bedroom door, green eyes locked onto the wooden gateway. His hand lifted to the doorknob, flickering a brief red before shifting to green. His hand reached for the doorknob, twisting it open to reveal a location differing from the family hallway into the kitchen. Rather, Jayden entered the daughter's room where a majority of the images were taken; he could visualize it best. The pastel pink walls and pink accessories making her favoured colour obvious upon entry.
[break][break]
He crossed the threshold, hand automatically closing the door behind him. Doors down would be the master bedroom where the parents slept, however, he had probable cause to begin here. Promptly, he approached the vanity and started shovelling the copious jewelry boxes in. Each one would have the delicate charms the young daughter preferred... Perhaps he could jokingly hand one to Caden. Then again, his brother would be probable to regift it in exchange for a one night stand with a gorgeous woman... He hated knowing his brother immensely well at times.
[break][break]
Little was the thief aware in his haste that another capper of the night lurked through the manor's hallways. Across the home's front was an imaginary bullseye because of the family's obsessive social media usage. Leaving it a place craved by thieves.
Lyra transformed from her raccoon form into her human form in the room finding a few trinkets worth taking. She grabbed the bits of jewelry and stuck inside her over the shoulder bag where she stuck the lockpick kit inside with a few rakes and other tools. She walked from one room to the other not really thinking that there could be another person in the house. She checked the other rooms getting different valuables here and there and then headed into another room opening the door where she entered a pink room. Was this a girls room she thought curiously. When she opened the door she spotted another person rummaging through the drawers.
Was this another thief? She wondered how they would split the loot and quickly thought up a lie to try and scare the guy out of the room. How did he get there anyways? He must've climbed through the window somehow because she relocked the door behind herself right? "Hey! What are you doing in my room!?" She blurted out rather loudly hoping that that would be enough to scare the thief away. "Y~ You better run or I'm calling the police!" She blurted out again with some conviction.
She kept her hand on the door ready to slam it on the guy if he approached her at all. She knew she wasn't the best person in combat so she would have to think smart to stay out of trouble. Plus Lyra was trying to think of a way that she didn't have to split the loot of the house with the guy. She gripped the doorknob tightly ready to slam the door on him if he approached, there was no way this guy stalked the social media of the household too did he? If he did then he probably knew what the people of the house looked like. "Shit" She thought wondering how exactly she was going to get out of this jam.
She tapped her finger on the doorknob, her raccoon ears twitching at the sound of her nails hitting the hard metal. "So go ahead now!" She made a shooing motion with her free hand. "Get lost.. This place is occupied!" She didn't seem all that scared now, but she was on her edge in case this situation escalated any further.

Items were haphazardously thrown into Jayden's bag as he grabbed the expensive items. The shiny items captured in the jewelry boxes were the valuables the thief searched for. Similar to a raven, Jayden discovered himself attracted to the sparkling jewels and polished metals. These would fetch a high price and earn him something, or perhaps work in giving his brother a present he could enjoy. Despite his glee in gathering the items, the gifted young man kept himself stern-faced and serious as he proceeded to work.
[break][break]
The sounds of approaching went unheard as Jayden hastily rummaged through the drawers and threw valuables into the bag. Riches were precious to the kleptomaniac, therefore, he took everything he desired. Although, the hushed squeak of the bedroom door prompted Jayden to freeze and gaze at his opponent. A young woman stood at the threshold of the room, differing from the self-proclaimed rich girl model. A pair of rounded brown ears poked from the woman's head while straight locks of waist-length hair surrounded them.
[break][break]
Nonetheless, she failed to match the description and lacked formal attire associated with security guards. Fortunately, the woman doomed herself by stating the room belonged to her. The lids of Jayden's eyes narrowed inside the holes of the mask as she spoke, proclaiming the room as her. He stood straighter, showing his full height. His hand wrapped around the top of the bag, closing it and hiding the contents. The loudness of her words and feigned conviction failed to frighten Jayden off as he stood, expression neutral.
[break][break]
Hardly a hint of emotion was displayed on his face as he regarded her with a subtle hint of anger. The woman attempted to persuade him out, however, Jayden would not be leaving. They both were in the wrong being inside the house, at least, the male thief assumed. Therefore, he had reason to take action. Without a second thought, Jayden adjusted his hold and was placed against the wall. Afterwards, he turned to the strangers, eyes locked on her.
[break][break]
"You are not Maylin Avard," he countered in a low voice. "So go ahead and call the police, I will leave you here to get caught."
[break][break]
Even if the woman was tasked with protecting the home, the renown of his name hardly made seeing his face worrisome. People knew the infamous Klepto and the face paired with the alias. Furthermore, a physical confrontation was something Jayden would have to be concerned about. He was the fighter of the duo who operated under his namesake, therefore, he was prepared for combat.
Lyra found herself in a pickle, watching the man in front of her curiously. She eyed where his hands were as he seemed to cover up the contents of whatever was in his bag. She knew the place would have plenty of jewelry yet when she looked around this room, there was no signs of any. And the man knew the name of this person's room, clearly she was dealing with someone who planned things out a little at least. She sighed aggravated a little by having to try and maneuver around this unknown.
She walked cautiously closer to the man, a stern look on her face as she edged closer to the man. "I'm not going to hurt you," She pouted as she approached him slowly. She wouldn't take any breaks in her step, she simply walked straight up to the man with a pout on her face. She reached her hand out to him, almost as if she was ready to shake his hand. "Nice to meet you.." She awaited for him to reach out with his hands, but kept herself primed. Whether or not he was going to accept her handshake was irrelevant. She knew he had only so much space in the room, so she was effectively cornering this man. Probably not smart in hind sight.
She tried to get close, even if the man back pedaled away from her. She kept her eyes locked on his, and showed nothing but a blank stare similarly to his view on her. She had a pretty good idea of what was in that bag, and the moment she got close enough she reached her paws into his personal space and tried to tear that bag from his grasp. She didn't want to be in a fight, so it was a simple snatch n grab. She moved so fast she hardly could tell if her snatch was successful, and she quickly tried to tear the bag from his shoulder, and then quickly fled away from the man. She turned around trying to run out the back door with what she assumed was a snatched bag, but she could be running with nothing in her hands as far as her brain was concerned.

A liar attempting to frighten him off was hardly a force Jayden would fear. Foolish charades to create deception suggested the woman was ill-prepared in the event of another individual being inside the home. The trained thief's eyes remained locked on the other individual, hoping he could intimidate her into leaving. At worst, he would be required to make an easy escape and perhaps return another day. Security systems struggled to keep the access manipulator out of a home, therefore, he could enlist Caden's assistance with his tech-savvy ways and infiltrate again.
[break][break]
Alas, the woman stood at the threshold of the door, surprisingly failing to retreat. If required, Jayden would engage in combat against her to proceed with his raid of the lavish manor. Unlike his brother, the older twin excelled in combat capabilities, hence his reason for being the frontline face when it arrived to soldiering affairs. The woman proved unpredictable when she began moving closer. In response, Jayden's eyes narrowed, enhanced strength activating to create a razor grip around the top of the bag.
[break][break]
If needed, he would swing the contents at her. Jewelry was not an effective weapon, but a bag full of jewelry boxes and lose treasures heading for someone's body with enhanced strength could be devastating. The gifted thief took a few steps back, only ceasing when his calves collided with the bed. He met the brunette's eyes with a glare, prepared for whatever combat to arrive, alas, the woman decided a different route. She reached for the bag, unaware of his activated enhanced strength securing the contents in his possession.
[break][break]
The male thief's stare deadpanned as he allowed the stranger to attempt any tugging she pleased for a few seconds. If it was not obvious before, the mysterious woman was not a fighter. Should the stranger still be holding the bag, Jayden began swinging it with force to cease the ridiculous hopeless tug-of-war.
Lyra gripped the bag with all her might, yet despite her efforts the bag seemed to be in his possession. She tried ripping the bag from his claws, grunting as she did so. She held onto the bag as long as possible, but then the man decided to start swinging the bag. Lyra not weighting much was caught off guard. The force he swung the bag sweeping her almost off of her feet. She stumbled, letting go of the bag. She groaned as she tried recollect herself. She smiled, scratching her right ear lightly while getting back to her feet.
"So who are you?! She asked anxiously as she got back up to her feet looking at him curiously. "This was supposed to be my score," She pouted with a frown. She took a few steps away from the man in case he tried to do something, putting her hand on the doorknob to grab it in case he decided to make a maneuver towards him. She prepared to slam door in his face, but with his strength would it really do that much to prevent him from getting to her? She sighed, feeling a bit nervous about the situation. "I'm Lyra," She smiled using her free hand to curtsy to the man in the mask.
"This is the part where you introduce yourself! And maybe give me a split of what you got in your bag, if you feel so inclined." She tapped her free hand's finger on her lips. "It would be the gentlemanly thing to do don't you think?" She seemed to play off being a complete fool rather well, he could easily overpower her and he must know it. What could she do in this situation anyways? She was trying her best to hide the fact she felt completely hopeless.

Fellow thieves entering the same home was always a nuisance for Jayden. As a greedy robber of the night, the green-haired man preferred to avoid having to share his stolen goods. Earning through thieving was enjoyed by the hat-wearing Assembly soldier, therefore, he viewed the woman as competition. He wanted the woman to be chased out, leaving all the items inside for his thieving. The brunette foolishly attempted to steal his bag of goods, the green-haired man's eyes narrowing. The stranger clearly had intentions of getting in and out swiftly.
[break][break]
With a heavy swing of the bag, Jayden managed to shake the stranger off. The Assembly soldier's green eyes watched as the stranger stumbled back. He watched the woman fall before hastily rising from floor with a groan. An impressed gaze settled on Jayden's face, unmasked as he observed the other thief. He wanted to assure she would not be attempting to snatch his bag with another plan. If anything, the green-haired man wanted her to decide to leave and allow him to gather more items for his selling.
[break][break]
The inquiry about his name would never be met with the truth. In reality, his name was Jayden Milton, however, he would inform the stranger of his alias... An alias he hoped would persuade the brunette into leaving.
[break][break]
"Klepto," he told her in a neutral voice.
[break][break]
When the woman stated the manor being her score. Promptly, Jayden rolled his eyes at the young woman, displeased with her so-called claim. A distance was created as the brunette smartly stepped back out of wariness. The woman introduced herself as Lyra with the addition of a curtsy. Alas, Jayden remained unmoving, his green eyes observing her body language in hopes of noticing anything that would suggest her following actions. Alas, the woman's lady-like introduction was merely to coincide with her following statement.
[break][break]
She claimed the gentlemanly action to commit would be splitting his meagre gatherings with her. The green-haired man's eyes narrowed as he regarded her.
[break][break]
"Who said I'm a gentleman?" He grumbled at her.
[break][break]
The gifted man took steps towards the woman, planning on moving past her to proceed with his thieving quest. He hardly cared about her presence, he could escape swiftly after all.
Lyra was thrown off a bit at the way he seemed to confidently stand there. He seemed pretty happy with himself just by throwing her off of him. She didn't seem to happy but knew she would be stuck with this guy for a little bit at least. She kept herself primed and ready, this meant that she would be sharing whatever was in the house with him then? She didn't like the idea of that, but had no real way of changing it. "Klepto? I think I've heard of that name before." She backed up back to the door of the room. She knew she really had only time on her side if she was to get a decent score on her tonight.
She looked at him curiously when he basically said he wasn't a gentleman. "Well I guess I don't have to treat you like a gentleman then.." She smiled playfully in his direction. As he tried to pass her she quickly slammed the door, running into the other rooms. Now it was just who could grab more right? She ruffled through the next bedrooms drawers and found a few pieces of jewelry she stuffed into her bag. She grabbed a few pieces of silk clothing she liked, and it seemed like it would fit too. If not real silk was pretty expensive anyways.
She ran into another room she was sure he hadn't hit yet and began digging through the various sections of the room. This room seemed like a bust except for a small raccoon teddy she seemed to like. Holding the teddy in one hand she headed back towards where she had last viewed Klepto. Searching through the room he was in she tried to get as much jewelry and valuables as possible while keeping a strong grip on her bag.
"So how did you figure to start this type of career Klepto?" She continued to search wherever he wasn't. She checked under the large bed, and then found a safe. She smiled thinking their would be no way he could open the thing. It was a safe with a key entrance, or a number pad. She was thankful that their was a key way because that was a bit easier. Pulling out her lockpick tools she began picking the safe's keyslot. She was in in a matter of seconds, stuffing the lockpick tools back in her bag. She opened the safe, and found many high quality jewelry inside the dam thing.
She quickly began stuffing the stuff in her bag hoping the klepto wouldn't notice.

From experience, Jayden was aware the alias handed to him by Assembly summoned a high-standing. People were familiarized with the infamy placed heftily above his shoulders. Although, the teamwork efforts between Jayden and his brother, Caden, left Klepto viewed as somebody with a dissociative personality disorder. The polarizing differences between him and his twin brother were considered extreme. Caden possessed flirtatious confidence, words leaving his lips similar to a running facet to persuade someone into his bed.
[break][break]
Meanwhile, Jayden's qualities consisted of a consistent quiet with shyer undertones. He lacked the sociability exhibited by his twin, hence leaving him the silent brute type. Their strengths were suited differently as well, with Jayden holding a battle prowess beyond his brother who operated incredibly as an information gatherer. Nonetheless, he expected the brunette to retreat and allow him the house for his gathering... Ignoring her mentioning of recognizing his name, he began striding forward. The distance was closed to the threshold to larger treasures.
[break][break]
He wanted to shove past her, however, it became apparent his opponent lacked no moxie. Abruptly, she barred his path with a declaration and slam of the bedroom door. An annoyed, growl-like noise rumbled in his throat as he stepped back, narrowly avoiding a wooden door to his face. The thief's eyes narrowed as he grabbed the doorknob and threw it open. The woman was quick, somebody talented in robbing homes. He scoped the hallways, green hues narrowly catching a glimpse of her as she hastily accomplished a room before heading to the next.
[break][break]
The thief followed her, watching as she entered the room. He heard the woman's small talk, however, his fixation went elsewhere... His green eyes scanned the door, noticing certain qualities about the wooden barrier... The door possessed a keylock. The home was relatively old before being modernized, but according to Maylin's vlogs, the family temporarily kept the older doors on some of the rooms. Rather, they ironically wanted to save money on installing a high-class security system; a fact Maylin idoitically left in.
[break][break]
Rather than provide an answer, Jayden slammed the door shut before hovering his hand over the handle. Briefly, his eyes flashed a vibrant green before flashing to red. The sounds a lock churning echoed in his ears, as though the key was twisted into it. With a soft hint of a satisfied smirk, he turned away, heading into the following room to hastily clear off a vanity. Thoughts swirled as he mapped out the house, planning on rummaging around for anything obvious. Rich families at times carelessly left money out.
[break][break]
Thus, rather than scavenging the remaining rooms for small hints of precious jewels, the male thief used his present door to teleport into the downstairs bathroom. He opened it, landing himself next to the living room where people occasionally left foolish treasures out. Quietly, he began going through the room, discovering a few trinkets on the fireplace mantel. Family photos were left behind, but anything expensive from trips or shops was stored into the bag. Alas, anything breakable was left for the time being.
Lyra wasn't too intimidated by Klepto. She would be, had she not needed the money she'd make on this trip. She needed this money for bills, and eventually getting a car too. She wasn't going to let the ripe opportunity die down. She continued to shovel money into her bag stopping when she heard a click on the door. She eyed the door with some sort of surprise. This was a very familiar sound, tumblers and the like moving into place to lock something. It sounded a bit off then what she was used to, a bit louder, almost as if nothing was blocking the key way from sending out the sounds. She continued to stuff her bag thinking in her head. "Does he have a key?" After clearing the safe, and closing it, sliding it back in place she moved her way to the door. She realized quickly her assumptions were right and the man had in fact locked the door on her.
Lyra eyed the lock and quickly assessed most of it's inner workings. She could tell there was a weakpoint by where the 'bolt' like slider slid in to lock the door, a simple shim technique should work. She dug into her bag pulling out a shim from her set of tools. It was really just a small piece of metal that could be shimmed in between the lock plate, and the bolt. The older doors didn't have as advanced features in them, making this type of attack a viable target. She shimmed the thing in between the lock bolt and then grabbed the door knob pulling on the door. The door slid open, still technically being locked, and would lock again if closed .She kept the door open just to give her more space.
She looked around, grabbing a few items from the top spaces on the manor. She then headed her way downstairs, wondering if the man had left. She then spotted him in the living room grabbing a few items. She casually walked up to him, but kept a good distance. "How did you get a key?" She was sure they weren't that dumb to leave some keys lying around, and not like he'd know which one was to that door. "You locked the door right? Mister Klepto." She shoved her shim back into her bag in front of him, trying to be a little bit showy of her skills in disabling the lock rather quickly.
"I don't need keys however." She smiled a bit devilishly.

The expensive decorations were slipped into his sack, every carefully placed amidst the bed of jewelry. Gorgeous miniatures sculptures into the bag. The extravagant picture frames glanced over, alas, the thief ignored them. He would slide the pictures out and steal the frames, however, there was a problem upstairs... Furthermore, fetching an excellent price on picture frames could be difficult. In the end, abandoning them to avoid difficulties from the fellow troublemaker was the preferred choice for Jayden.
[break][break]
The moment his green eyes locked on her, he accepted being unable to claim everything inside the manor... Committing murder inside the large house would be suspicious, especially if the brunette was a fighter. Since she allowed his peaceful attendance, he would merely hinder her hunt for goods; although, he was hardly a murderous sociopath, to begin with. Furthermore, law enforcement could be called via the meagre usage of a communications device, thus, he would walk along the safer route. After all, if somebody contacted the police, they would be in mutual trouble.
[break][break]
After snatching the items carefully placed across the fireplace mantel, Jayden's eyes shifted. The green hues locked onto the dark-oak coffee table, noticing some abandoned bills. The thief snatched them, pocketing them into navy jeans he wore through his venture. Carefully, his eyes scanned the room, noting the leather furniture and whispy, dark-grey curtains. A familiar voice rang through the living room. The kleptomaniac's eyes flitted over to the brunette who freshly escaped from his futile trap. It was sensible, the woman carried herself as a thief.
[break][break]
The question reached his ears, proving the animal woman was entirely unaware of his abilities. If Jayden's presumptions were correct, Lyra was completely clueless about exactly who he was. Complaints were nonexistent at the thought, it assured there would be no self-righteous attempts at arrest or threats to call the TRS. Nonetheless, he highly doubted Lyra was moronic considering the skillfulness she exhibited.
[break][break]
"What kind of thief needs keys?" He mumbled beneath his breath, allowing her to think as she would.
[break][break]
Quietly, he hefted his bag, lifting it over his shoulder. After saying his piece, Jayden planned on moving on rather than proceeding with the idle chit-chat. Everything he wanted was snatched from here, thus, he would move onward. From the living room, he entered a hallway with two divides, one to the main foyer, the other the kitchen. A soft 'hmm' escaped his closed lips as he proceeded through the manor. With a split decision, he picked the kitchen, hoping to discover some loose bills hanging around or other decorative pieces.
Lyra awaited an answer from him. Frankly she didn't take much from the house, and her bag was already full. She couldn't carry a lot, considering she could only carry so much. And she preferred to travel light in case escape was needed. She frankly was surprised at how much the other man was getting in one go. She wondered if working with him would actually be beneficial, if he could carry much more, but not like he would want to share more of his split with her. She shrugged as she guessed he must've used a picking attack on the door to lock it, it would be pretty easy because you just had to set the lock to be locked. However these locks may be old but they had a special back of the keyway tension on them. He must have some similar tools to her then right? He had to at least, at the very least have a tension tool.
Despite the man's demeanor Lyra decided to stick close, but kept out of his reach. She didn't want a fight breaking loose, but she did rarely come across someone who had similar tools to hers, and prepared enough to understand the locks of the house. He must have done his research first, looking at photos of the inner locks to know that the lock had back of the keyway tension of course. "So what tension tool did you use then?" She asked him curiously. "Was it custom? The locks in this house, though not the best have at least some security measures. They were good for their time." She made her way into the kitchen, happy with her findings for the night. It would be enough to satiate her rent, and getting a few fancy things. She was lucky enough to find the safe earlier.
She closed her bag zipping the thing up, but keeping close attention to the Klepto fellow. She made her way into the kitchen, this time coming close enough to Klepto to pass him and head over to where the pantry was. She headed into the pantry grabbing a fish cracker snack. Goldfish. She grabbed the whole bag and headed out to spy on the klepto. She grabbed a handful of fish and began shovelling them into her mouth.
When heading outside the pantry she exclaimed loudly. "Want some!?" She was just trying to annoy the guy at this point, maybe see what else he was grabbing. She was done for the night, and would probably be leaving soon, maybe even trigger an alarm if she had too. It wouldn't be the first time she had to fuck over someone, but she would prefer to make a friend rather than an enemy. This guy wasn't trying to assault her anyways, or at least didn't seem to want to. "So your taking everything you can get your hands on? I mean I guess I'm a petty thief compared to you." She took everything she wanted, she had a bag full of jewelry, money, and a few trinkets from the house to remind her of the score. She really did travel light.

Clueless. The single word to describe Lyra at this moment arrived in Jayden's mind as she made her foolish inquires. The female thief genuinely failed to maintain tabs on her competition, evident by her questions. Tension tools or anything related to lock picking was not required by Jayden. As a gifted, he received suitable abilities for his occupation, the type that allowed him to climb the ranks. Despite his renown as a thief, Jayden could manage himself enough that people being aware of his identity never mattered.

The perk was graciously laid over his shoulders through his and his brother's personal skills. Although, being capable of manipulating access points never hindered his exploits. The brunette appeared keen on following him, however, he hardly minded her puppying after him. Would he answer her questions? Perhaps a limited amount of them given the circumstance. If she wanted answers, then he would provide vague information. Giving one's enemy too much information could be considered a deadly move, therefore, he would maintain a few close to the vest secrets.

"Why should I tell you?" He grumbled out.

Even if he required the usage of tension tools, Jayden his inclinations for telling her was nonexistent. Thick as thieves was hardly a truthful term. A thief steals in a heartbeat and in desperation, would betray in half of one, or at least he believed these "facts". As he gathered additional loose cash, the woman had slithered past. Briefly, his eyes flitted towards her, watching as she opened the pantry and began raiding for food. Perhaps she stole out of desperation, however, her clothes and evident moxie and smooth attitude hardly suggested financial stress.

The rustle of a bag was ignored as Jayden scrapped a few abandoned bills into his bag. They were meagre $5s, however, they were lightweight and his home was merely an open door away. Although, her loud exclamation made the thief stiffen before shooting her an annoyed glare. Sabotage existed, he learned that with another thief who tripped the alarms on him. Not that it particularly mattered given his abilities. Only moments later did the brunette jabber on about more questions; she seemed full of them... A meagre grunt escaped the Assembly soldier's throat as he gave a quick half-attentive nod to the question.

Rather than linger in the kitchen, Jayden retreated, deciding to investigate further into the house. Given Maylin's vlogging, it ultimately meant there would potentially be some leftover camera equipment around. With escapes surrounding him, Jayden would not hesitate to take his time gathering everything he wished for.
Lyra looked at the man with a curious gaze. He really seemed so hell bent on stealing this families possessions, like every piece of them? Lyra always travelled light, and avoided carrying heavy things. This guy seemed to carry a large bag, and was shouldering that burden pretty heftily. She stared at his shoulders briefly, trying to get an assessment on his strength, but frankly his clothing was in the way. She sighed, absent mindedly munching on goldfish.
"Thieves honor, you should just tell me what tool you used." He was still ignoring her for the most part, despite nodding to one simple question. She didn't like this, and began wondering what things she could do in the kitchen while he was gone. She went into the kitchen, looking at the calendar notepad on the fridge. Grabbing a pen she began doodling. It was a crude drawing of Klepto. She finished her art, and then tore the goldfish bag so she could get her hand more deep in the bag. She began placing the goldfish down on the floor spelling out something on the ground. She made a crude K out of the goldfish on the ground, and then made an & beside it before adding a capital L. She then grabbed the note pad with the klepto image on it, and flipped it over so that she had a fresh piece of paper.
This wasn't the smartest idea, but she was having fun with creative expression.
She began writing on the notepad. "You just got robbed by." She then drew a little woman with a mask, similar to the one Klepto was wearing, by the period. She placed the notepad in the center of the goldfish "K & L", which she frankly just wrote to annoy the guy if he came back into the kitchen. She left her little art piece alone, and yawned. Transforming while yawning her body quickly morphed turning into a raccoon. She then made her way into the living room, and began playing with the furniture. Her sharp claws, and teeth, made quick work of the sofas. She began climbing inside the sofas, and spraying foam all over the living room. She was acting on her natural urge to mess things up. She then waddled back into the kitchen, she had purposefully left the door open to the pantry, and she began tearing some of the boxes, and bags, in the pantry open. She ate some of it, and then went onto something new.
She was making quick work of the pantry, and after she got her hands on everything she could, she then waddled out of the pantry. The living room, and kitchen, both looked like a raccoon had really got into the house. She chittered happily, still leaving the art piece she made earlier alone. She waddled towards where Klepto had gone, and then when she got sight of him she chittered in his direction, ready to show him her masterpiece. She had a marshmallow in her mouth, and one held by her paws as she chewed on them while waiting for the klepto man to pay attention to her. She was planning on leaving after seeing his expression on her handy work, still debating on tripping that alarm.
