Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

Klepto could hardly be considered a sociable man, evident by the behaviour exhibited. Conversations and interactions were never the green-haired man's forte. He preferred speaking only with his twin, Caden... or that peculiar blond man... Thoughts of him were difficult to shove aside as Jayden wondered for a moment. Would he come pay the so-called bill or his damages? Or ignore this mishap, wondering if he accomplished the robbery? Although, Jayden shoved the endless concerns away, refusing to think of the potential guilt.
[break][break]
He listened to the woman's ridiculous preaching of thieves honour. Most thieves held no shreds of an honour code, rather, they were greed-motivated and sought chances of increasing their earnings. The only reason Jayden maintained peace was to avoid anybody discovering their intrusion into the manor. A worthy sacrifice to skid by detection and avoid RCMP presence arriving anytime soon. He rolled his eyes at the woman in response to her absurd claims of honour and requirements to inform her of his tools.
[break][break]
Rather than indulge the brunette with further answers, the masked thief turned away, heading down the hallway. His silence, in a way, was a truthful answer. Not a tool touched the capable hands of Jayden Milton, better known as Klepto. The power of his access manipulation always served as the sole "tool" in his arsenal. Who needed anything more when the sheer wave of his hand opened doors? Unaware of Lyra's plans, Jayden proceeded down the corridors, eyeing up anything else he could potentially steal. He entered a downstairs washroom, grabbing the expensive colognes, managing to snag an unused bottle.
[break][break]
Through the home, he traveled, finding few useful items to swipe. His departure was gradual arriving, and Jayden was in acknowledgement of those factors. Alas, a peculiar chittering sound echoing through the hallways stole his thoughts. The thief turned around, raising a brow to the raccoon behind him, marshmallow in its tiny jaws. Confusion echoed in the thief's green eyes as he watched the creature, wondering how it managed to get inside.
When she locked eyes on the man he looked completely confused. Did he not know she was a raccoon shifter? She thought curiously to herself, wondering how she get him to come see her little art piece. She figured a combination of growls and chitters might do the trick. On second thought maybe leaving out a growl would be best, as raccoon growls, and snarls, sound quite aggressive, and scary, even for her. She chittered, standing on her two back legs and leaving her hands exposed. She brought out her paw and pointed to the other room. She was making a gesture, as best she could, in her raccoon form. She had planned to escape once she got his reaction to her art piece. She had fun wrecking things mostly, and she knew most likely an insurance would fix and get the family mostly new things. It was almost a victimless crime, and she liked that aspect.
The only thing they had to worry about was the time it took to get new things. Plus if she was so inclined she could hit the target down the road, but they would likely have more security. She waltzed through the aisles chittering trying to get the Klepto fellow to follow her. She waltzed her way through the main kitchen where she had her goldfish notes, and then waltzed past them to get closest to the exit if he decided to turn aggressive. She would be much harder to catch in this form, despite having a harder time opening doors. She was pretty quick, and agile, and she had claws, and sharp teeth. In this form she felt pretty confident about her chances of keeping the Kleptos hands off of her. Besides, she just wanted some form of attention from the other thief. She had been hitting locations successfully for a while, and did so without acquiring a standing. She did just move, so it's not like people were after her here yet. She had a standing from her other home location, it's in part why she left.
She didn't want the heat coming to find her, and got into trouble with certain gang activities. She prayed that those groups didn't follow her here. She didn't want to do another job for those maniacs. She gestured the area to the man, hoping he followed her displays.

Thoughts circled through Jayden's head, the thief unaware of the girl's shifter ties initially. Furthermore, raccoons were a common presence and with the presence of another thief, the creature may have slunk in through an open window. Although, the actions exhibited by the raccoon resulted in the quiet man connected the dots. Between the chittering of the animal were gestured considered human in action. Those thoughts brought his mind back to his fellow thief, the brunette who stated her name was Lyra.
[break][break]
The suspicion flared in his eyes as he locked his green hues on the raccoon exhibiting human actions. Although, not a word drifted through his regularly silent lips. Rather, with a sense of caution he strode forward, obeying the creatures directions somewhat begrudgingly. He returned down the hallway, his eyes shortly recognizing the upcoming kitchen... and its present state. As Jayden grew closer, the tornado disaster that unfolded within the kitchen became more clear alongside a thief's calling card...
[break][break]
A crudely shaped K & L of goldfish crackers was placed on the floor while a piece of paper stated the proclamation of 'You were robbed!' parched nearby. On the fridge was a picture of them, drawn as an addition to the massive calling card left by the young woman. Silently, Jayden stared at the signal of his attendance, a soft sigh leaving his lips. Never did the infamous Klepto leave a call for his robberies. He considered it a true thief's way to enter in silence and leave with the items rather than manifesting something flashy.
[break][break]
When his eyes returned to the mysterious raccoon, he noticed her pointing. Once again she was directing him, instead to the living room. Another sigh marked his movement as the thief walked forward. As he moved through the kitchen and entered the next room. The thief's eyes widened slightly as he beheld the destroyed couches. Fluff was ripped from the seems and thrown about the living room. Rather than people, the victims came in the form of destroyed goods and poached pantries for the other thief. His eyes glanced over at Lyra, his eyes filled with question.
[break][break]
"Why?"
[break][break]
It was among the only words Jayden could state in regards to the offense. He hardly cared if the brunette decided to terrorize furniture and pantries, however, he pondered the calling card and reasons. They were not partners, Jayden long already holding a partnership with his twin rather than anything else.
"Why?" These words were more than enough to bring joy to the raccoons face. She had finally got an honest to goodness reaction from the guy. He wasn't very emotive, but she had gotten a reaction from the dang guy. Lyra entered from the back, where the alarm system wasn't installed. However the front door had an alarm system. After luring her target to the area of the house, and without even realizing the area with the fewest doors, she chittered happily, and waved at the guy, before darting out of the room. She ran through the hallway her paws scratching at the floor as she made her way to the front door and leaped onto the handle. She used her hands to turn the lock, and without a passcode being entered at the security terminal, the alarm of the househould finally came to life.
It wasn't too particularly loud but the house began buzzing with an alarm. The door quickly popped open, and Lyra dropped to the ground, slinking around the edge to escape to the outdoors. She scuddled her way across the lawn, and moved towards where the fence line was. She hopped onto the garbage pales, which were out early for the next day. She used the garbage bins to hop onto the fencing and then moved rather quickly across the fence line. She barely stood out, matching the dark background of the night as she shuffled across fence to fence making her way away from the crime scene with her stolen goods, and leaving the man with the choice of either cleaning up the calling card, or leaving entirely. Either way her childish act had been done, and now she was just excited to go home with the loads of money she received.

Comprehending the actions accomplished by the raccoon shifter was impossible. The green-haired man learned that fact hastily given her attitude. Rather than escape through the threshold, she took the time to demolish the furniture and create a mess inside the house. As his green eyes locked back onto the raccoon, he noticed the subtle hint of pride in the woman's attitude. The gifted man planned on shrugging it off and allowing Lyra to enjoy her extreme mess. Although, his attention was retained with the raccoon's mysterious wave.
[break][break]
The Assembly soldier's brows furrowed in confusion, eyes narrowing at the action. He watched as Lyra turned to scuttle down the hallway, the green-haired man following. They moved through the manor, the raccoon ahead of him and Jayden following after her out of curiosity. As he rounded the corner to the foyer, he saw her, quickly making work of the front door and opening the security coded entrance. As the alarms beeped through the house, Jayden flinched, a curse being mumbled under his breath. Unlike the clever raccoon, Jayden fled from the entrance.
[break][break]
He approached the closet door, hovering his hand over the doorknob and changing the destination. Quickly, his hand grabbed it, opening it to discover the familiar scene of his bedroom. He entered the threshold, throwing the bag inside and shutting the door behind them. With that, Jayden was away from the scene in mere seconds to sort out his loot.
