Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
[attr="class","ageha_text"] Yet another case has come in today. And, of course, Theodore has been called to solve it.
[break][break]He sits on a park bench, casually scanning the pages of the case file that had been given to him earlier. It was an afternoon; the sky and clouds are painted a combination of pink and orange, birds chirping up ahead and preparing for migration. A rather peaceful time of day, less noise to deteriorate one's focus. There are less people in the park, either walking with partners or alone.
[break][break]Theodore Barns is one of those who are alone... but he won't be soon enough.
[break][break]He comes to the third page and shakes his head in irritation. The case is more complicating than he thought. A murder, a theft, and a kidnapping, all in the same place and the same time. It states here that the crime had been committed in this very park, but so far there have been no leads as to who the culprit is and their motivations, as well as which exact place the crime had been committed. His irritation is flaring reading through the file, but his face does not show it but with furrowed eyebrows and a click of the tongue.
[break][break]Theodore manages to look away from the papers once he hears the sound of footsteps; these were different, as they were nearing the bench where he was sitting and not that of a mere passerby. He stands up and smiles at the person. "Hello. You must be the one who'll be partnered up with me," A small smile graces his features as he extends a hand for them to shake if they want. "I'm Theodore Barns. You are?"
[break][break]NOTES :: Finally! Here's the thread that I promised ;v; Private investigators on the case, this should be fun~ [break]TAGS ::Lachlan Fraiser
Lorsette was riddled with criminals. They lurked amidst the squalid outskirts and snaked through the innocent crowds of people, preying and awaiting the first opportunity. As a hardened investigator, Lachlan had adjusted to the committed sorrows by the Lorsette crime rings. He both investigated and played victim to those misfotunes. Thus, when he received a phone call from the police about assisting a recent case, the blond reaper held no surprise. Crime occurred constantly and shock would not result in the case being solved at a timely rate.
Murder, theft and kidnapping. Three crimes accomplished in the same location. A murder committed on somebody acting as a witness, stealing of priceless jewelry and the kidnapping of a young daughter. If Lachlan were to assume, the motivation behind the crime was money. A ransom note written in curvy cursive writing scrawled across white parchment was left at the scene, requesting wealth in exchange for the girl. Every detail provided over the phone was not what persuaded Lachlan to agree to accept the case.
Every passing day brought Lachlan closer to the frightful 'Pride Month', June... Therefore, the loading of cases started hastily to assure there would be plenty of distractions to keep his mind away from the upsetting situation. He despised Pride Month, impart from his envy of gay homosexuals grinning away their worries. The private investigator wished he could be similar to them. Joyously wandering the streets with rainbow flags waving in the air, alas, Lachlan was trapped inside the terror of facing prosecution from his peers.
Thoughts were shoved away as Lachlan grabbed a loose-fitting dress shirt and black pants. A day prior, the police department and he arranged a date and time to meet. The long-time investigator was tasked with helping one of their investigators gather information about the heinous crime. The early hours of the morning were spent dressing before heading out the door to meet where the crime occurred, a park. There were plenty of twists and turns in the situation, especially with the daughter being a mere infant and her parents involved in a troubled marriage.
Once dressed, Lachlan exited the front door of an old, unkept Victorian-style house; something he purchased cheaply because of the home's condition and limited yard space. The overgrown grass reached his ankles and the house was discoloured, requiring a fresh coat of paint. Home repairs ignored, Lachlan marched out to his vehicle, a suitcase filled with supplies by his side. The passenger's door was opened and the suitcase given its personal seat. The door was closed and Lachlan walked around the bumper, opening the driver's door and slipped inside.
From there, he began driving through the streets, heading to the western section of Lorsette. The RCMP informed Lachlan he would be meeting with Officer Theodore Barns. He would be partnering with the man throughout the case until its closing or until leads died down. As Lachlan approached the park, he slowed his vehicle, parking along the street. For a moment, his hazel eyes gazed from the window, analyzing the wrought iron fence with stone bricks as the foundation and pillars between sections of iron fencing.
It was an admirable sight, one Lachlan enjoyed for a few moments before reaching for his "passanger's" handle and exiting the vehicle. As he entered the park, his eyes wandered, noticing new reporters chatting among themselves or performing on camera to inform the world of the horrific crime. The blond walked pass them silently, suitcase in hand as he searched for Officer Barns. As he ventured further, his eyes noticed the man looking over case documents on a park bench, scrutinizing them for imperative details.
As Lachlan approached, the man detected his arrival and provided a friendly smile. The man greeted him, deduced he was the partner and provided his name. Upon hearing 'Theodore Barns' he nodded in confirmation on being the private investigator partnering with him.
"That would be me," he began, attempting his best friendly smile. "Name's Lachlan Fraiser, Private Investigator. I've been in Lorsette for some time, so I am hoping I can be of assistance."
In a friendly action, Lachlan offered his hand to shake in introduction. Undoubtedly, they would begin their delve into investigative information and discussing the crime at hand. It was their expectation as law enforcement. Another being a weighty requirement to find the criminal to keep him off the streets without hesitation. In a kidnapping case, the pressure was intense, therefore, they needed to solve this and assure everyone would be safely returned to their home.
