Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Demetria listened to Nathan's words, upset as she chose to remain quiet, debating on how she would go about punishing him for it. You ditched me for something that you deemed not worthy of extra time and then have the nerve to bring it up the next day, then you lecture me, preaching to me about your view point of me not being ready to handle Terrors... What you need is an ass kicking and I'll gladly provide it. She thought to herself, deciding it would be best to allow him to believe that he had won. "QUIT CALLING ME THAT, IT ISN'T MY NAME!" She snapped, following him towards the arena with the intention of attacking him. Though this was a spurring match, she was more interested in kicking his ass over learning how well he fought, wanting to show him that she wasn't sitting around yesterday doing nothing but seriously made effort to train by herself. If he can't learn to respect me without being shown, then it leaves me no choice. She thought to herself, having no patience in waiting for them to get to the arena.
"I'M NOT ABOUT TO DIE, I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT I CAN DO!" She shouted, determined to have this fight now, feeling rather impatient on his chosen location, besides that would mean that she followed him around and she couldn't allow that to happen, not on purpose anyway. She rushed towards him in an attempt to attack him from behind.
Empathizing with one’s situation resulted in harsh outbursts regarding those sensitive topics. Experiencing loss firsthand, Nathan possessed a fierceness about protecting others to avoid people feeling similar emotions. Throughout his fledgling years of hunting, Nathan proved to be a reckless dumbass accomplishing those perilous stunts. Terrors had damaged his body, several times he required healing and finally he would receive those scarring injuries. Then he met Tristan, fell in love and eventually ceased some of those ignorant actions to protect him from mourning.
[break][break]
Innocent souls never deserved to feel the burden of those sorrowful emotions and painful needles stabbed into their hearts. Therefore, through Demetria’s angry snapping, he displayed not a shred of care for her emotions on the subject. In Nathan’s opinion, the words she stated were downright idiotic without a morsel of consideration towards the objectives of the TRS or her family’s mourning. Therefore, he walked, allowing her to revel in anger about her ridiculous notions of single-handedly fighting terrors.
[break][break]
Anybody who attempted those follies received injuries for safely taking those creatures down without a partner was rough. As he listened to Demetria proclaim she would not die, Nathan rolled his eyes.
[break][break]
"Terrors are not a joke, dumbass," Nathan mumbled.
[break][break]
The male vampire purposefully walked slower, deciding to allow Demetria enjoy her anger and impatience. If she wanted to become a hunter, Nathan required her to control that anger and realize her RECKLESS BEHAVIOUR WOULD GET HER KILLED! The woman's fierce independence, an absurd trait that would lead her to an early grave should she toss reasonability. Alas, those moronic decisions were shortly displayed when he glanced behind him, noticing the young woman rush to attack despite not entering the sparing grounds.
[break][break]
Fresh adrenaline pumped through Nathan's veins as his enhanced speed activated to dodge the initial attack. Immediately, his right hand grabbed his bowie knife from the sheath, bringing the blade to the palm of his hand. Immediately, blood surged from the cut, preparing to fight alongside its owner.
Demetria rolled her eyes when she listened to Nathan speaking. He was down talking her just because he wasn't around to watch her train yesterday. She had rushed towards him in an attempt to attack him from behind, but to her disappointment he had glanced behind himself just before she could kick him and he had used enhanced speed to dodge her attack. She watched him proceed to withdraw his bowie knife before slicing the palm of his hand open, allowing his blood to surge from his cut. She lifted her hand into the air before pressing her palm in her mouth before biting into it before dragging down to her wrist so that her own cut would become bigger before pulling away in an attempt to make the blood surge out. It was coming out slowly but not under her control. She found herself ignoring Nathan as she tried to get it to move but it just hovered above her wrist, only moving with her wrist moved. Oh come on..... son of a bitch! She thought to herself as she just stared at her hand, upset as it started to close.
Nooooooooooooo. She thought to herself, seeing it going back into her as it started to heal up. She quickly attempted it a second time, not caring about what Nathan planned on doing, finding this more pressing.
The aggravated redhead had made a critical choice attacking Nathan before they reached the sparring zone. The green-haired vampire was already pissed off about her idiotic antics and arrogant beliefs; an irony considering his conceited thinking. Nonetheless, the foolish apprentice decided her choice and as the mentor, Nathan would gladly serve her the consequences! If she thought she would escape this situation unscathed, he planned on proving her wrong! Sensations of pain would be a suitable acknowledgement of the difficulties of rigorous battling against terrors.
[break][break]
From the wound across Nathan's palm was several long tentacles of blood, the cut remaining open because of his manipulation. He observed as his apprentice attempted similar. Her fang ran across the flesh of her wrist, the blood moved, hovering pathetically over her wrist. The full-fledged hunter accomplished an eye roll at Demetria's actions and her fixation on something she failed to control. Expertly, Nathan altered the shape of the small tentacles, transforming a portion of them into sharpened needles of blood.
[break][break]
The blood hardened over, allowing the male vampire to shoot the needles at non-fatal locations at his apprentice, specifically her limbs. If Demetria wanted to spar moronically and fixate on making her blood manipulation operate, then he would allow it. Besides, it would be her downfall for pompously sitting on her fucking high horse! If the redhead wanted to prove she was prepared, then he would never have heard those reckless words leave her bloody mouth! Who risks the feelings of cherished family members on an ego-stroking venture?!
Demetria couldn't help but feel slightly frustrated that Nathan was able to control his blood manipulation with ease as she continued struggling with hers. The eye roll Nathan had given her was ignored as she continued trying to get her powers to cooperate with her, only to be sadly disappointed when they had returned into her flesh and she was forced to once more bit into the palm of her hand before dragging down before noticing that he was going to be sending needles in her direction. She still couldn't get the power to move, but instead of giving up, she bit into the other palm of her hand before dragging down to her wrist so that more blood could exit her body, despite currently only hovering above her wrists. All I want.... is to protect.... She thought to herself, crossing her arms in front of herself, closing her eyes as she prepared for impact with the expectation of her blood being returned into her wounds but instead more blood poured out in front of her before suddenly she was covered in a dome before it became hard, breaking upon the needles contact against it before reconstructing itself. Slowly her eyes opened when she failed to feel the needled touching her, wrists remained open instead of healing as energy seeped out from her.
Wh... what? She thought to herself as she stared at the dome, unable to see Nathan. Slowly she'd reach out to hit the dome, hopeful it would break but the small cracks reformed quickly, so she assumed Nathan had placed her in this hell of a prison. "Nathan! What the fuck! Get me out of here...." She shouted, banging on the dome only for it to reconstruct, holding her prisoner in here. The desire to protect had encouraged the blood to move but she wasn't able to control it, therefore found herself stuck in her own blood manipulation.
Needles soared through the air, closing in on Demetria. The redhead acted problematic, therefore, Nathan decided to teach her a lesson for her ignorance. As a mentor, he considered it a crucial requirement because of how idiotic her ideas were. She wanted to fight terrors before she was properly trained and single-handedly! She wanted to throw her life straight into Purgatory because of her accursed obnoxious attitude! HOW COULD SHE DO THAT TO HER FAMILY?! GETTING HERSELF KILLED IN A FUTILE ATTEMPT TO APPEAR ALMIGHTY?!
[break][break]
IT WAS STUPID! Before the needles could puncture Demetria's skin, blood poured from her skin. Rippling from the cut and spreading around her in an unnatural dome. The red dome shattered Nathan's needles, proving the created item was a shield. The green-haired hunter raised a brow at the sudden action accomplished by Demetria. The male vampire's knowledge of abilities allowed him to identify it as blood manipulation, something his apprentice struggled to control. Bangs resonated from the shield as Demetria shouted from the inside of the dome.
[break][break]
An annoyed groan escaped Nathan's lips as he approached the blood dome. Quietly, he walked around the dome, arms crossed as he analyzed the situation.
[break][break]
"You did it, so undo it," Nathan told her. "Lesson one if you want to manipulate blood, get out of the dome you made."
[break][break]
With those words, Nathan stepped back, allowing Demetria to attempt to escape on her own. There were instances where hands-on learning was the best solution to teach another individual. Therefore, the green-haired vampire was willing to allow the redhead to struggle before he assisted her. Besides, she deserved it with her stupid decisions and requirement to be obnoxious!
Demetria had started banging on the blood dome, upset that Nathan would trick her and do this only to hear him claim that he hadn't been the one to create the dome but she had and that she needed to undo it. "Undo it? How?" She shouted, feeling her energy continue to seep from the cuts on her wrists. The dome was strong, no matter how many times she pounded it with her fists, the small cracks would reform and she'd find herself no closer to an exit from when she had started. She paused, trying to think if she'd be able to control the blood now that it was a dome, but her thoughts couldn't encourage it to move and the longer she remained in here, the more tired she was becoming. "I... I can't get out... I don't know how." She shouted in defeat, wishing nothing more than for Nathan to get her out of here. She'd hate to admit it, but she needed him to get her out. The dome remained in place, draining her energy in the meanwhile.
She fell on her knees, struggling to keep her balance. "Hurry...." She'd call out, panting in the process. Is this power going to kill me? All because it was my desire to protect? She thought to herself, unaware that thoughts of protection only made the blood dome even stronger, which in turn was taking more of her energy in the process.
Effectively, Nathan had thrown Demetria into the deep end by commanding her to discover a method of escape from her situation. She decided to aggravate him with her senseless proclamations about fighting terrors single-handedly without a thought being granted to anything else. While a majority of mentors would enlist strict punishment, Nathan failed to accomplish that. Rather, he shouted and fought with Demetria in return. He was inexperienced in mentoring another individual, therefore, his punishments were limited to ceasing any helpfulness.
[break][break]
If anything, Demetria's time inside the dome could be the equivalent to a toddler receiving a timeout for throwing a temper tantrum. She attempted to attack him because of her anger, therefore, she could simmer inside the little dome she created for herself. There were two motivations, allowing Demetria to cool it and having her learn to manipulate and escape her creations. The male vampire listened to her shouts, however, he merely crossed his arms and watched the dome. He wanted the redhead to at least attempt escape on her own.
[break][break]
Quietly, he listened to her pleading as she wished for instruction on an escape. How ridiculous! An annoyed sigh escaped Nathan's lips as he rolled his eyes.
[break][break]
"Focus, use your will to force it open. It is your blood, make it do what you want it to," Nathan shouted in return. "Tell it you no longer need to be protected. If it doesn't listen to you, then it won't be doing a good job protecting you, right?!"
[break][break]
If the situation was an emergency, Nathan was prepared to exert his control over Demetria's blood. The green-haired hunter took steps closer, mentally preparing himself should it become a requirement.
Demetria listened as Nathan explained how to force it to open. I don't need protection anymore.... return to my wrist where you belong.... She thought to herself, but nothing happened. Despite Nathan's tips she had found herself becoming tired from all the energy she had used so far. She shouted in defeat, falling to her knees because she was struggling to keep her balance. It is taking so much of my energy.... She thought to herself before calling out to him. The dome of blood stood strong and she remained in the center of it, unable to free herself as energy continued to leave her. Is this the end for me? She thought to herself, falling forward onto her stomach, unable to hold herself up any longer. Blood.... I need you to return to my wrists.... you've done your job protecting me.... She thought to herself, hand reaching out as if that would encourage the blood to come back, but it just wouldn't soften up into liquid and return to her. This is hopeless... She thought to herself, laying there as she fought to stay awake.
With well-timed footsteps, Nathan circled the blood barrier protecting Demetria. Carefully, his yellow-green eyes observed the condition of the barrier, checking for cracks in the exterior from his apprentice attempting to remove it. The blood was motionless and hardened, stubbornly shielding the young woman it exhausted inside. Each step, Nathan counted, timing seconds and minutes as he waited to intervene. He knew better than to enforce this lesson onto Demetria without a single safety precaution being established.
[break][break]
He trained in blood manipulation and forged it into a useful tool. It became an asset to his offensive style of combat and allowed him to have a weapon should his knife be absent. Undoubtedly, Nathan's control would allow him to hijack control over Demetria's blood. As a fully-trained vampire in the art of blood manipulation, the green-haired hunter was nobody to gawk at and assume weakness. The counting proceeded, the steps measured and the silence noted. An annoyed sigh echoed through Nathan's lip as he counted to time up.
[break][break]
The male vampire's hand pressed flat against the shield, fingers splayed as he closed his eyes and fought for control of the shield. Should he manage, Nathan would shatter the hardened blood into bits to remove the obstacle. Already, he knew the aftermath plan, take Demetria to get some blood to drink.
Demetria took in deep breaths as Nathan circled around the blood dome, unaware that he planned on stepping in to break it, should she fail to do so. At this point she honestly believed he might let her die just for the sake of being done with her already. She laid on the ground, struggling to stay awake, feeling extremely tired from the blood training her energy. Slowly her eyes started to close. Must..... protect.... She couldn't help but think, unaware it had made the blood dome stronger when Nathan had pressed his hand against the shield, attempting to take control over it. With the thought on mind, the blood dome continued holding strong for a bit longer, refusing to shatter despite that being Nathan's desire. More energy drained from her, heavy breathing continued as her eyes remained closed, trying to focus on getting back up.
Hand-pressed against the body-temperature dome, flat against the surface as he closed his eyes. His apprentice lacked proper control over her blood manipulation. Under most circumstances, a masterful blood manipulator could break the control of a frightened novice. It would be a draining task, but their battle interaction was limited, leaving Nathan with boundless amounts of energy reserved. Therefore, he hoped to apply it to forcefully taking control of the hardened blood protecting Demetria and remove the obstacle draining her.
[break][break]
An intense drain meant a hospital trip, and the fully-fledged hunter damn-well aware of it. Alas, Demetria failed in the simple task of demanding otherwise from her blood as Nathan requested. Throughout his takeover effort, he sensed the shift of the shield's prioritization. She wanted fucking protection again! Anger boiled through Nathan's veins as he noticed the deliberate disobeying of his recommendation. If she wanted freedom, she needed to take fucking control and cease the action that was draining her!
[break][break]
"DEMETRIA! YOU NEED TO FUCKING STOP TELLING IT TO PROTECT YOU OR ELSE HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSE TO GET YOU OUT?! NOW TELL THE DOME TO BREAK AND WE CAN GET YOU OUT OF THERE!" He shouted, infuriated by the circumstance.
[break][break]
His focus shifted back to shattering the dome, but if Demetria proved uninterested in taking his advice, Nathan planned on switching gears. Should his apprentice prove to be failing him further, the trained vampire would be forced to shift to enhanced strength and his manipulation to demolish the shield. It was a dangerous path, but if there were any hopes of Demetria's safety, he would risk the bruised knuckles and energy loss.
Demetria flinched when she heard Nathan yelling at her. The dome.... the blood... it... doesn't listen... to... me... She thought to herself, time seemed to be slowing down as she felt her energy continue being drained, laying on the floor with the dome surrounding her. I.... I... failed... She thought to herself, unaware the thought made the blood dome become weaker. Less energy was being absorbed from her, even so, enough had been taken already and she found herself laying on the ground, no longer having any energy to stand up. Is... this... the end... for... me... She thought to herself, blood dome started breaking apart with the assistance of Nathan. She found herself drifting towards unconsciousness.
APPRENTICES WERE THE MOST OBNOXIOUS INDIVIDUALS TO HANDLE! The lesson was hastily learned by Nathan as he stood beside the blood dome, his pale hand splayed as he attempted to exert his control over it. A groan of annoyance breathed through his lips as Demetria made his efforts exhausting. Why would she make the situation fucking easy?! Seconds were passing with nothing happening, no strengthening or weakening of the blood dome. There were no doubts about Demetria's energy gradually depleting because of her foolish resilience to his suggestions!
[break][break]
Tell the dome to break! The basic command was ignored by the foolish redhead! Rather than take the advice, she strengthened her shielding and decided to waste her damn energy on defending herself against a non-existent opponent! Vexation transcended over Nathan the longer he stood, attempting to crack the absurd dome she created. His apprentice desired to assist others, yet, failed to control the precious hardened fluid defending her! Although, as Demetria's energy waned, her control followed and eventually the experienced hunter shattered her dome.
[break][break]
With narrowed eyes, he watched for a few moments as Demetria laid on the floor. It appeared probable she would lose consciousness.
[break][break]
"Fucking idiot," he muttered beneath his breath.
[break][break]
The green-haired vampire retreated to the radio system, pushing the button to speak through the intercom to the staff.
[break][break]
"Can someone call the TRS pleased? Demetria fainted and I need someone to look over her. Anyone with familiarity in dealing with exhaustion would be helpful," he reported calmly.
[break][break]
He held doubts about Demetria losing her life over the altercation. Already the staff would be arranging themselves, one individual, on the phone calling the TRS while somebody with first aid experience and healing would be treading down the stairs with haste. The system was simple and assured Demetria would receive whatever healthcare she required. Nonetheless, Nathan was displeased with the actions of his apprentice. Her reckless disregard for instructions was infuriating! But unfortunately, she was at the end of the training courses, meaning it would become sink or swim...
