Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Burn on I'm shining so bright There's fire deep in my soul I'ma rise up like the legends of old
Loki had been looking forward to the carnival that had come once more to the city. It gave him an excuse to have some fun and spend some time away from the castle. Maybe he'd run into some eye candy while he was there. He was dressed in a casual look, black shirt with pants to go with it along with a black wristband. His hair was down for the most part but he had a hair tie hidden under his wristband for him to put his hair up if he so wished to do so. He made his way out to where the carnival was located at once he had deemed himself ready, a pack of cigarettes hidden in his pocket along with his lighter. Even he figured bringing those items along would be beneficial. At least in making him look cooler that is. Most people loved the 'bad boy' thing going on.
The hellhound had arrived to the carnival and paid his way in, one hand in his pocket as he strolled through the grounds as his eyes scanned his surroundings. Now...first he needed to get some tickets and whatnot to go have fun at the booths or rides but... Oh, what was this? The hellhound raised his free hand to rub his head a little, mainly due to all the noise but also because he spotted a familiar looking man. Was it one of his former flings? No, he couldn't recall sleeping with an albino. Oh, wait he was the bartender!
Loki grinned and made his way over to the man, his back facing him, as he was unaware that the albino was here with someone else as well. He stopped behind him and chuckled softly, scanning his eyes over the man before he'd alert him of his presence. Oh, he had a nice ass. "Well, well...look at who I've run into here. If it isn't my favorite bartender. What brings you here?" He spoke up, throwing the man a grin as he cocked his head to the side a little. "Don't mind if I tag along with you? I'd love the chance to spend more time with you..." He added as he took a small step closer towards him, once more scanning his eyes over him before he allowed his eyes to rest on his face.
The albino bartender had been only one of those things that day. For today, he was not a bartender, but instead, he had on his older brother face. All week his younger brother had been begging him to go to the carnival with him, saying that it was fun and that they definitely needed to go together, so he sacrificed his day off and finally said okay. The two had been at the carnival for most of the day, enjoying games and rides and ice cream and cotton candy. Gabe had stood for awhile in like for the mini-donuts, but it would be like hell if he left without them. Those were worth everything else. Along with seeing Yves smile.
Currently they were standing in line for something for a late lunch, some sort of steak strip sandwich that he really wanted to try. He smiled at his brother, mentioning something about going for a ride after they ate. He had to wonder whether or not rides after food was the best idea, but hey, if it made the kid happy.
It wasn't long before he heard the voice of the red haired male hit his ears. And he turned his head to look at him, shaking his head. "I've come here with my brother." He motioned to the younger male. "This is Yves." He smiled a bit, quite fond of the younger male. Though the words of him tagging along were a little less received. He had always kept his work life and home life separate. The albino shrugged a bit. "Well, that's up to him I guess. It's his day out. If he says you can stay then I guess you can stay."
Throughout the week, Yves pleaded for Gabriel to attend this year's spring carnival with him. When the carnival was formerly here, the young, white-haired man was accompanied by his crush, Phoenix Collins. Unfortunately, after witnessing Gabriel work hard every day... he believed his brother needed some proper enjoyment. Thus, the young amnesiac had ulterior motives to persuading the nephilim to attend the carnival this afternoon. Fortunately, he managed and Gabriel took the day off from bartending.

Together, they wandered the carnival, going on rides and enjoying the carnival treats. The pleasant spring weather prompted Yves to wear a t-shirt and jeans. He enjoyed spending time with his older brother since his brother cared for him after amnesia claimed his memory. A broad grin was evident on Yves' face as they stood in line together so Gabriel could try a steak strip sandwich. Unlike the young wraith, the nephilim required regular consumption of food, making lunch among those important meals his brother required to remain healthy.

While they moved slowly down the line, their for plans after lunch were being discussed. The younger brother expressed interest in riding the teacups. Little did he know that somebody was approaching from behind while he planned more things to attend with his brother. The wraith stiffened, a soft 'eep' leaving his lips as a man's voice reached his ears. The younger Levora child glanced behind them, discovering a man with long, red hair and golden eyes. Slowly, Yves' eyes flitted between his brother and the stranger, waiting for an explanation.
[break][break]
The responsibility to decide the redhead's attendance of their group was soon weighed onto his shoulders, no introduction given. Shyly, Yves glanced up at the stranger who he assumed was Gabe's close friend.
[break][break]
"Um... that's okay... but who is he?" Yves answered Gabe before giving his question.
[break][break]
Eyes gleamed curiously at Gabriel as Yves stared him, a little anxious by the presence of a stranger. Alas, the younger brother's intention was to assure the albino received a proper break. After everything his brother completed to assist Yves in maintaining a proper life, he considered it necessary to agree.

Loki blinked once from the man's words before the hellhound turned his attention over to a smaller boy that was by the older albino. Oh, so he wasn't by himself. What a shame. However he had been accepted in staying so to speak so that was fine he supposed. He placed a hand on his hip as he tilted his head and looked at the man's brother. "Well, well Yves...nice to meet you. I'm....a friend of your brother." He spoke to the kid, giving him a smile before he glanced towards the older man and gave him a quick wink. He'd make the most of his time with them, or rather with the bartender who had captured his attention. "So, what were you two doing before I got here? Don't tell me you two had all the fun without me?" He piped up, grinning as he snapped his fingers once while his hand was still resting on his hip. He could be pretty easy going if he wanted to be, and for now he wanted to stay in the kid's favor so he could keep close to the albino bartender. No harm no foul there, right?
Gabe wrapped an arm around his brother's shoulder, giving him a light squeeze. "Don't worry, he's just... Someone I met at work. A friend." He smiled at the boy, hoping to ease whatever worries that he might have. "This is Loki." If he remembered right. He chuckled a bit and moved up in the line, pulling Yves along with him. "Well, we've only explored about half of this place, so I think you're right on time." Gabe mentioned. "Just about to eat sandwiches assuming they have any left by the time we get up there."
The albino smiled and kept his brother close out of habit. He was sure that Loki wasn't going to hurt him or anything like that, but at the same time, he couldn't be too careful. He was overprotective that way, and that much was clearly evident. They reached the front of the line after not much longer, and Gabriel ordered three sandwiches, paying for them if Loki didn't. Afterwards, he directed the three of them to a nearby table and sat down. "Want any sauces or anything, Yves?"
Rarely did Yves receive the opportunity to meet people who identified as friends of his brother. Hence, the young wraith's eyes widened as he stared at the redheaded man. Confirmation was provided about the man's connection to his older brother, Gabe, when it was stated he was among his friends. The amnesia-ridden man's lips curled into a broad smile, happiness for his brother fluttering inside his chest. Their attendance of the carnival was becoming a brilliant idea since the young wraith gained the opportunity to meet Gabe's friend.
[break][break]
Quietly, the younger white-haired man watched Gabe's friend, curiosity shining brilliantly in his red tinted eyes. It was magnificently to meet people who identified as his older brother's friend. This would certainly assure Gabriel's visit to the carnival a million times better. While Yves held a close relationship with the bartender, he believed his brother would discover joy in some events via spending time with somebody around his age. The long-haired stranger placed a hand on his hip as he stated it was nice to meet him.
[break][break]
"Nice to meet you too," Yves reciprocated in a quiet voice.
[break][break]
A name was provided by his brother, the redhead's name being Loki. The pair conversed while Yves quietly listened, following the line. The over-protective actions of his brother was unnoticed, the innate actions being something the young man adjusted to. They grew up together and after his devastating demise it was unlikely to fade quickly. When they approached the stand, three sandwiches were purchased, surprise flashing on Yves' face. As they took their food and left, the wraith glanced at his brother with surprise.
[break][break]
"You didn't have to get me one," he murmured.
[break][break]
As an undead creature, he was not required to consume food to survive. Therefore, he usually insisted his brother save money where possible, most specifically with the food budget.

Loki took notice of how the older albino kept the younger male close to him as they moved along in the line. When it was their turn to order food the hellhound moved to get up front and pulled out his wallet, handing his card over to the person who took their orders and did the payments. "I've got it. This is on me." He spoke up, glancing over to Gabe with a small wink. Once they had gotten their sandwiches he followed the brothers, taking a bite out of his sandwich as he scanned his eyes over the bartender once more. Oh, he was very fine to look at. He finished eating his bite of food before he moved to walk on the younger male's other side, putting him between himself and Gabe. "So, what do you want to do next, Yves?" He questioned him as he glanced down at the younger boy with a smile crossing his face.
