Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Cold temperatures always haunted the outdoors during the winter months, frequently keeping people inside. Currently, snow lazily fell from grey clouds, drifting slighting in the subtle breeze. Clenched in Yves' hands was a broomstick as he glanced out the window, admiring the breath-taking winter scenery. A calming presence arrived whenever the wraith witnessed the gently, falling particles. This was his fourth winter since his premature death on a frigid, January day, however, Yves paid little mind to the passing days.
[break][break]
He preferred to avoid thoughts of the incident which claimed his life. Somehow he managed to enjoy a fresh snowfall, but it was impart to the serene nature of falling snow. The sounds of the radio played through the apartment, gentle music filling his ears. The young man's fixation returned to sweeping the floor of their home. Stationed on the table, hiding beneath a t-towel was freshly mixed pizza dough from a Kraft Make Your Own Pizza package he purchased at the store. There was determination to surprise his brother with his favourite pizza for supper.
[break][break]
These little things Yves could accomplish to manifest happiness for Gabe felt special. Hence why the wraith cooked the meals, cleaned the apartment, did the laundry among other household chores. A majority of his time was spent in the apartment, studying for school, therefore he considered it his duty. As a result, the apartment was subjected to daily cleaning, assuring dust failed to conquer any surface or dishes did not pile up. Quickly, Yves swept the dirt into the pan before pouring it cleanly into the trashcan.
[break][break]
Afterwards, the dust pan was secured to the broom before being shoved into the closet. Hands were washed before Yves revealed the risen pizza dough. A smile stretched across the wraith's face as he grabbed a circular pan and the margarine container before setting them on the table. With a piece of paper towel, he buttered the surface of the pan, the metal gleaming from the coating. Once finished, he grabbed the dough, placing it on a separate cutting to carefully flour and kneed the dough. Shortly afterwards, the dough was transferred to the pan, his hands buttered and the thorough process began.
[break][break]
Minutes passed as Yves shaped the dough to the pan, grabbed the sauce and to spread it across the surface. The process took time, the wraith ignoring the clock and his phone while he distributed toppings. Cheese was carefully sprinkled across the surface, an even array with the proper amount Gabriel enjoyed. A content smile stretched across the younger brother's face as he slid the pizza into the oven. If everything went according to plan, the pizza would be out when Gabe returned home. The young wraith wished to assure his brother's pizza would not be cold upon coming home.
[break][break]
Under the belief there would be no unexpected surprises, Yves grabbed a timer, set it for ten minutes before grabbing his book for novel study. While he awaited for Gabe to return home and the pizza to cook, the student happily read his book while occasionally glancing up at the cooking pizza.

It had been a long day out running errands and checking in at the bar, even if it was his day off, he hadn't really gotten to enjoy much relaxation time. He hated leaving his brother on his own on days where he didn't really have to, but Yves had insisted for some reason that he could go and do things on his own today. It had been suspicious, but he wasn't one to argue with the younger male.
Gabriel was making his way home when the snow started falling. He also enjoyed the soft falling flakes, though he was a little less inclined to like being in them. The flakes settled softly on his jacket as he walked, one arm full of groceries, the other holding a surprise for his brother and his keys. He made his way into the apartment building and shook off a bit before making his way into the hallways and up to his apartment.
The keys jingled a bit, no doubt alerting his brother to his presence as he unlocked the door and made his way inside, smiling a bit at his younger brother as he sat with his book. Gabe moved in and put the groceries on the table. "Wanna help me put them away?" Not that he really expected him to, but he knew that Yves would do so. It was then that he noticed the smell of the oven, of something good cooking. "Smells great." He ruffled the other's hair with a smile. "Here, I got us a movie to watch later, and a new book for you." He handed the book and the movie over. "Hope they're good."
After everything was put away, the timer went off and he watched the other male scurry about the kitchen to pull out the pizza and prepare it for them. Of course he had offered to do so, but he was no doubt turned down and told to sit and relax. His brother was the cutest thing sometimes. "So, I've got some bad news for you." He mentioned, resting one arm on the back of the chair at the small dining table they had. "I've gotta work..." He waited to see the disappointment on the other's face before he continued. "Tomorrow." He chuckled a bit. "That's right, you're stuck with me all night tonight. What horrible news, am I right?"
The scents of pizza began filling the apartment, the delightful smell somewhat distracting Yves from his book. A broad smile stretched across the wraith's lips as he read his book. Happiness filled the amnesiac as he kicked his feet. He enjoyed doing these tasks for his brother to secure his glee. Focus was split between his book and the cooking pizza. Occasionally, the wraith glanced at the oven, eyes gazing through the glass. The lit interior of the oven allowed Yves a proper view of the cooking food, the melting cheese starting to become appearing.
[break][break]
The younger white-haired man leaned back in the kitchen chair as he waited. Only minutes later, the melody of jingling keys breached Yves' mind. Quickly, his eyes flitted towards the doorway, locking on it as the door was unlocked. A grin immediately stretched across the amnesiac's face. The bookmark was placed inside the book pages before placing the closed book on the table beside him. The red-eyed young man stood from his chair, happily scurrying towards the front door of the apartment to greet his older brother.
[break][break]
The door swung open, revealing his older brother. Excitement filled Yves' veins as he smiled at his brother.
[break][break]
"Welcome home," he gleefully said.
[break][break]
An enthusiastic nod happened as Yves followed closely behind his older brother. Once the grocery bags were placed onto the table, Yves moved closer to assist with organizing the purchased items. The pizza's scent was complimented, followed by a hair ruffle courtesy of his brother. A giggle escaped Yves' lips as his brother ruffled his hair, his large red eyes gleaming as he stared up at him. A gasp left the wraith's lips when the Gabe handed him the book and movie. He bounced on the balls of his feet as with exhilaration!
[break][break]
"Thank you!" He said, joyfully gazing at the items in his hand.
[break][break]
Shortly afterwards, he placed the pair of items onto the table and started putting groceries away. Everything was quickly stored away into the cupboards, refrigerator or whatever else was inside the bag. When everything was put in the correct location before the timer rang. Oven mitts were grabbed with some holders placed on the oven. He grabbed the pan, sliding it out and placing it on top of the oven. The door was closed not long afterwards. Bad news was mentioned, prompting Yves to stiffen as the oven mitts were slipped off.
[break][break]
The wraith glanced over at Gabriel, expression displaying concern as he explained. A frown touched the amnesiac's face when his brother mentioned work, but a smile soon brightened his countenance.
[break][break]
"NO! That's awesome!" Yves happily responded, a broad smile tracing his lips.
[break][break]
An entire evening spent with his caring older brother sounded incredible. Those occasions were rare because of Gabe's requirement to work, thus Yves planned on reveling in the thought.

He smiled at his brother's happiness. "I'm glad." He was always happy when Yves smiled. The poor kid had been through so much, though he was actually kind of glad that he only remembered so much. Sure, having to relearn how to speak and read and write and whatever else was kind of troublesome, but at the same time, his brother had come so far and he was so proud of him.
"So, since I have tomorrow off, what would you like to do? Anywhere particular you would like to go?" He always liked spoiling the boy, even though it was hard to afford it from time to time, he would do anything to try and give the younger male his childhood back. He often took him out to the zoo or the movies or wherever else his younger sibling wanted to go. He would often bring home books and stuffed animals, pillows and blankets, and candy. He hadn't had the chance to do so when they were growing up, so he did so now. "Maybe we should go grocery shopping too. Or for some clothes. I need new work pants."
The white-haired wraith’s eyes beamed at his older brother, a broad grin stretching across his lips. Red eyes glittered with excitement as he observed Gabe. There was usually happiness created when his brother was around. The older male became a guardian to the unfortunate amnesiac, protecting him from harm and providing the essentials. It made Yves appreciative of everything Gabe accomplished for him or assisted with. There was simply few activities greater than spending time with his older brother.
[break][break]
Anybody aware of Yves' situation knew he primarily relied on his brother for studies and general care. Without Gabe's help, the young white-haired wraith would have been left somewhere to rot, uncertain and frightened. Despite his brother's requirements to work, Yves found investing time in his brother to be a marvelous thing. Thus, a giddy young wraith clapped his hands together excitedly, eyes closed as he gave a few happy jumps. He loved spending time around Gabe, especially since the older male was among the few people Yves could remain calm around.
[break][break]
The wraith ceased action when Gabe inquired about where he would like to go. He... never thought that far into the future... Thought displayed on Yves' expression as his hands returned to his sides.
[break][break]
"Um... I don't know," he murmured.
[break][break]
Already, Yves was aware he could pick anywhere and Gabe would move mountains to reach whatever destination stated. His older brother enjoyed spoiler him, and the younger male was thoroughly aware of that. The white-haired young man shrugged at Gabriel.
[break][break]
"Well... we can just stay in and play board games," Yves suggested with a grin. "After we shop of course."
[break][break]
Board games were a cheaper solution and furthermore, usually collected dust in the closet because they lacked use. They could attend the stores before returning for some easy fun-making. A soft 'oh' escaped Yves' face as he turned, scurrying to where he left his brother's supper. The wraith glanced over the delicious pizza, checking how hot it was before grabbing a knife to cut the circle into slices.

Gabriel smiled at his brother. How cute he could be sometimes. He nodded a bit at the mention of the board games. Maybe he should have some sort of family game night once a week. He could always buy more games for them to play while they were out and about. He watched as his brother scurried back to the kitchen and he made himself comfortable at their dining room table. After a bit, he was certain his brother would bring him the pizza slices. "Looks absolutely delicious. You did a great job!" He smiled and ruffled the boy's hair, pushing the other chair out with his foot and patting the chair for his brother to sit and join him. Even if the boy didn't really eat much, if at all, it was still nice to have the company.
"Mmm. This is really good Yves!" He smiled and went about eating his slices of pizza. Once he was finished he leaned back in his chair and patted his stomach like a loser. "Nice and full." He wondered for a moment whether or not to take a nap, but he decided his brother wouldn't get much enjoyment out of that. "Do you want to go shopping now or later then? I could always go alone later too if you don't want to go out."
The knife cut through the food as Yves gradually worked on creating slices. The lines in the pizza were straight, the triangular pieces thoroughly made. A joyous smile was featured on the wraith’s lips as he finished cutting the final pieces. He hopes his brother would be delighted at the supper he made for him. There were few things the younger brother could accomplish to make life easier on the man who cared for him. One of those tasks involved a steady requirement to make supper. Other duties included cleaning and basic household chores he insisted on doing to avoid placing too much stress on Gabe.
[break][break]
When the pieces were finished being cut, Yves grabbed a plate and a couple of pieces for his brother. They were placed onto Gabe's plate, a broad grin tracing the white-haired man's lips as he turned back to the table. Quickly, he returned to the table with excitement written across his face. The pizza was presented, settled in front of his brother for his consumption and hopefully enjoyment. The grin broadened farther when Gabe complimented the appearance of the food he created for his precious brother.
[break][break]
The moment the chair was patted, Yves hastily taking a seat, red eyes watching his older brother. As the nephilim bit into the freshly made pizza, he awaited a comment on the food. Positive feedback was provided, a wide smile being framed on Yves' face as straightened his back, hands coming together.
[break][break]
"I'm glad! I really wanted you to enjoy it," Yves stated in a cheery voice.
[break][break]
Quietly, the white-haired wraith watched as his brother continued eating until filled with pizza. The grin was strengthened by watching his brother consume the food he made. Shopping was soon mentioned again, a soft 'hmm' leaving Yves' lips.
[break][break]
"I think that would be a good idea, then we can stay in tomorrow," Yves responded.
[break][break]
The wraith slowly rose from his chair, leaving it and pushing it in, however, he lingered near his chair. He wanted to assure his brother agreed with the plan before hurrying to grab what he needed.
