Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
The weather outside was frigid, chilling bones from the dampness absorbed into the air. In the Canadian province of Newfoundland, the chilly weather was nothing surprising for the residence. Their location naturally became cold, thus, Laurent was prepared to handle the atrocious temperatures outside the Terror Response Syndicate Headquarters. Oftentimes, the fallen angel walked to the locations he wished to travel. Driving or alternative transit was convenient and faster, however, he preferred a pleasant walk for exercise and head-clearing.
[break][break]
Alas, before Laurent could walk home, the professor was required to finish his classes. Throughout the final minutes of his last class, the fallen angel allowed his students to work on their assignments. A majority of them worked, the group proving to be a marvellous final class for the workday. Papers and tests were being graded while the students accomplished their assignments, some handing in their papers early while others would take their work home to complete. When the bell finally rang, the professor stood as his students hurried out.
[break][break]
"You're assignments are due Thursday, you will have some of tomorrow to work on them," the bearded man called as his students exited.
[break][break]
Once they escaped the classroom, Laurent returned to his desk, stationing himself behind the computer. For an hour, the professor's fingers clicked against the keys, finishing more grading before rising from his seat. Everything was finished before the brunette left his seat, grabbing the jacket hanging around his chair. The coat was tugged over Laurent's broad shoulders and zipped up slightly above mid-chest. When prepared, the professor left the classroom and walked down the hallways, heading to the exit where he entered the cold, winter air.
[break][break]
The freezing temperature embraced Laurent's body, slapping his face as he exited the warmth of the Terror Response Syndicate. Breath escaped his lips in swirling clouds of white, the mist moving upwards and fading. Hands were shoved into the depth of the brunette's pockets, the first steps being taken to leave. Boots walking down the sidewalk filled Laurent's ears, the footsteps belonging to him, otherwise, cars were rushing down the streets. With the horrible weather, a majority of citizens decided to avoid the cold in favour of the warmth discovered in cars.
[break][break]
Some tasks required completion before Laurent headed home for the evening, one being grocery shopping. Therefore, the fallen angel turned to head in the direction of the business district. A soft sigh escaped the brunette's lips as he strolled down the sidewalk, seemingly comfortable despite the cold conditions. Quietly, his eyes scanned the surrounding area, admiring the winter scenery. Despite Christmas' recent passing, holiday decorations hung from some windows from people delaying their removal, however, it added a pleasant atmosphere to the downtown area.
[break][break]
Stores were thoroughly reopening for full-time work as employees returned from their holidays. The streets were unoccupied since wealthier individuals were using their time for vacations; even a small portion of his class was given excused absences for a few extra days of vacation. The fallen angel proceeded on his course with quick steps to avoid being exposed to the cold temperatures for extended periods. While Laurent was tough, he preferred avoiding time spent in harsh and cold weather conditions. His choices were made and he decided to walk, thus, he would still be required to face weather issues.
[break][break]
Alas, the brunette would undoubtedly surprise these frigid temperatures. He lived in Canada for a long time, therefore, Laurent was no stranger to the cold. The professor kept walking, waiting for the grocery store he regularly shopped from appear in his sights.

[ @jaclyn can jump in when she feels like it is the opportune time. ]
Pride had found himself wandering into the busy streets. He was smart enough to avoid where the cars were driving. The dog's breath escaped in clouds of hot steam as they hit the cold air. Luckily Pride had a thick coat of fur, but even for him the streets were cold, if he was to transform back into his human form he would surely freeze out here. Pride's thick coat kept him decently warm, but he was still getting cold thanks to the high winds. It began to start snowing, not very strongly, but the wind picked up the snow on the ground and began to move snow off the top of the snow banks. Pride was hit with most of this moving snow causing his already mangled, and dirty, fur, to become covered in snow. The dog was happy enough to keep trucking along. He used the buildings to keep himself out of the sight of the wind, making it much easier to stay warm.
This weather seemed to only get harsher for the dog, as the winds whisked around the dog carrying snow and other debris up onto his mane. Pride whimpered as the part of him giving him the most trouble was his paws. Having been out in the cold for days now his paws had been experiencing salt, snow, and ice, the salt especially being painful on the dogs paws. The snow began to pick up, but it was still quite visible. Pride turned a corner to avoid the changing wind currents, once again keeping him warmer than if he was just in the path of the wind. Thankfully Pride was built for being in the snow, this weather wasn't really too bothersome, but being out in the wind was beginning to stack up on Pride.
The white and black husky seemed to blend well into the snow, most of the dirt being covered up by the snow that amassed onto the dog. Pride picked up his speed to a fast trot, this helped him stay even more warm in the hazardous winter. Pride trotted past a few stores, noticing a man down the sidewalk with a beard. Eventually The dog ran onto an ice patch directly in front of the man. This caused the dog to begin slipping and sliding all over the place. The sound of his nails smacking against the ice echoed against the walls near the street. Pride slid around the ice trying to regain his balance, spinning as he slid. Eventually his trajectory started aiming for the man. Pride let out a single bark as if to warn the man to get out of the way, however it was too late for Pride, he was on a collision course now and had lost all traction.
Hopefully this man was decently strong to stop a bulldozing husky from knocking him over like a bowling pin. Pride was moving decently fast too, trotting for him was about as fast as a normal person could run. Pride winced in pain as he smacked into the person, not sure if he caused the man to topple, but Pride found himself crashed onto his back, a short whine escaping his snout as he landed. Pride was stuck on his back for a brief moment as he tried to regain center-balance and get back onto all fours.
In silence, the professor proceeded down his course, braving the frigid weather as he drew closer to the grocery store he regularly shopped from. The defeating silence of a cold winter day allowed for unpleasant thoughts to suffocate him. Whenever quiet fell upon him, Laurent found his thoughts retreating through history, returning to the bright flames licking the evening sky and shrill screams echoing from both inside and out of the family home. The mistakes he made... the anger which burned brighter than his family's home... it consumed him.
[break][break]
A gentle sigh escaped Laurent's lips, the large man's eyes fixating on the sidewalk before him. Shoes crunched on the light layer of snow, the subtle crunch of broken ice reaching his ears. The sounds were a warning sign, therefore, the fallen angel moved at an eased pace. Could he have saved them? The thought haunted him, seeping into his mind and creating a vivid scene unfolding in his mind. The fallen angel's eyes squeezed shut, shoving those thoughts down, bottling them up and locking it away before it could corrupt any hopes of happiness.
[break][break]
Thoughts shifted to a distraction, something which failed to notice a warning, the progress of his students, something he could grasp to. The brunette continued walking, eyes searching for the grocery store. His steps carried him closer, eyes noticing the grocery store. He was heading towards the store until something crashed into him. The man was unbalanced, his large hand reaching to press against the outer wall of the grocery store. It steadied him, allowing Laurent to remain strong despite the sudden force. A whimper reached the large man's ears, something unexpected given the cold temperatures; most people kept their animals in.
[break][break]
The collision was unexpected, shortly followed by the professor glancing over his shoulder to notice a black and white husky. The fallen angel slowly turned, a brow-raising as he crouched down to eye level of the filthy dog. Dirt hardly bothered the hat-wearing considering it was unavoidable and something which entered his life daily.
[break][break]
"Hey, little fella. Come here," Laurent said calmly.
[break][break]
Admittedly, the professor enjoyed dogs, finding the precious creatures enjoyable to be around. Somebody's dog could have slipped through the door days prior, leaving the unfortunate animal temporarily homeless, thus, Laurent decided to offer a helping hand. Redemption was required for his previous sins, good deeds to assist his ailing soul, furthermore, the brunette was a fan of dogs, persuading him to try and gain the husky's attention.
Pride was on all fours now, hearing the call of the man he had just bumped into. Pride was a little grumpy from being hit, but the reach of the man's hand looked very tempting for an animal that loved to get attention. His paws slid against the ice still taking a moment for him to grab traction on the small ice patch. Pride before walking up, and trying to receive affection, he sniffed the man. The cold made it more difficult to assess what a person smelled like but Pride's nose was sensitive enough to do it still, especially this close. He got a good whiff of the man's scent, and tried to pick out scents of food on him but he couldn't smell any scent of food on the guy. This was sad, Pride was always looking for food on the streets and the fact that this guy hadn't had any made Pride's interest in him go down quite a bit. Thankfully the guy seemed to be offering pets, so that was a positive out of this situation.
Pride came closer, rubbing his head against the guy's arm trying to get him to pet him. It was kind of like when a cat rubbed it's face against you, but Pride extended it to include his maine, and attempted to get some pets from the guy. Pride put out a small bark to go along with this, not that it meant much, but Pride was also judging the man by how he reacted to him. Some people got scared of dog's the size of Pride, and if he could sense any fear from this guy Pride would probably try to tease him. Pride wasn't the type of animal that would actually hurt someone, but he was smart enough to mess with the other people.
Pride groaned and huffed at the air, rubbing his back against the man's arm trying to redirect his hand to pet his back as well. Pride was always thankful to be pet, even if the guy didn't have food, he seemed receptive enough to warrant stopping for awhile to get attention. Pride was still a little hurt from falling, but he was a tough animal and tried to manage through the pain from the fall.
Carefully, Laurent's hazel eyes watched the mysterious husky. Attentiveness was evident in the observant man he watched the dog, assuring the black and white canine would not bite. Animals could be dangerous at times, therefore, the fallen angel maintained some caution as he interacted with the dog. The husky's thick fur was visibly coated with dirt and grime, knots tangling the unruly mess of fur. If the poor creature was separated from his owner, then it was probably for an extensive amount of time considering the condition of his pelt.
[break][break]
The dog approached, momentarily losing traction on the icy sidewalk until managing to reach him. As expected, the canine sniffed his hand, perhaps trying to determine if he was friendly or a threat. With the dog's horrible condition, Laurent hoped the creature would consider him a friend and accept some help. The bitter weather conditions were ill-favourable for anybody, including thick-furred huskies. As the dog approached and sniffed his hand, there was hope with the reaction Laurent received from the dirty animal.
[break][break]
The fallen angel smiled when the husky rubbed against his arm, reaching to pet the creature's back with little care about its dirty condition. Dirt clung to Laurent's fingers, however, he did not register a complaint about the situation. Based on the interaction, the husky seemed friendly, suggesting that once it may have belonged to someone.
[break][break]
"What a good boy," Laurent said, a subtle happiness to his tone.
[break][break]
The large man kept petting the dog, following the redirection given when the creature groaned. A soft chuckle escaped the bearded man's mouth as amusement surfaced from the husky's personality. He kept petting the strange dog in his crouched position with his right hand while inspect for injuries, flees or anything else concerning.
Pride was more than happy to be receiving attention from the male in front of him. Receiving pats despite the dirt, which he somewhat learned from a previous encounter that people didn't seem to like very much. Yet this man seemed to show no restraint when petting him. This made Pride very happy, and he wagged his tail furiously as he received the attention he felt that was lacking in his life. Pride was in pretty could shape for the most part except for little bits cut out from his fur from scraps with other dogs. Most of them were healed over, but covered by his thick fur, so you couldn't see them unless you had your hands moving about like from petting. Pride sat down beside the man receiving the pets. After hearing words escape from his mouth Pride felt more inclined to aggressively pursue more admiration. Did this man call him a good boy? It had been quite a while since he had heard those words, most people saw him destroying trash bins for food so one could say that wasn't necessarily a good dog.
Pride looked up at the man. Perhaps he had more food, or could lead him to shelter of some sort. Pride's thick fur meant he was able to withstand the blazing cold, but he had been out here for so long in the blizzard that even he was wanting some sort of shelter. This man was kind, but Pride would have to communicate to him in some way to ask for shelter, or even just some food if he could get some. Pride from his seated position whined a few times at the man, this was his best way of asking the man for food, or shelter. The man was kind, he could tell that much from just this small engagement. Or at the very least he seemed kind. Pride rubbed his head against the man's hands to keep the attention that he loved, but whimpered to try and get a sense of urgency for his situation. Perhaps the man had somewhere warm he could show him, even though Pride felt that he didn't deserve it, he would still take any shelter over staying in the outdoors, although he could survive, but he wasn't dumb, he knew other dogs had people beside them, holding the dogs away from Pride. The other dogs stayed beside a human, and were treated much better.
So perhaps it was time for Pride to stick this human beside him and get a treat for doing so. Pride whined lowly again at the man dropping his ears and playing up the poor dog position.
Dogs were a creature Laurent could appreciate for their undying loyalty and the companionship they provided. Thus despite the poor husky being a dirt-covered mess, the fallen angel hardly minded creating a friendship with the creature. On a frigid, winter afternoon, somebody needed to assist the precious, little husky. The happiness represented in the canine’s body language resulted in a smile stretching onto the bearded man’s lips. The friendliness exhibited by the dog prompted suspicions of the animal possibly belonging to someone before becoming homeless.
[break][break]
A further inspection was done of the husky, questionable fur patches being among the few physical features suggesting a previous wound. Otherwise, the fallen angel believed the husky looked fine and somewhat healthy for an assumed stray or lost family pet. Either way, brunette held no intentions of leaving the poor creature in the streets if it could be helped. The amount of kindness shown towards the dog resulted in the creature sitting alongside him. The peculiar dog was proving to be a pleasant companion.
[break][break]
After showering the dog with attention, Laurent stood tall, brushing his dirtied hand against his pants to give a questionable cleaning. The gleeful nature of the young husky made the interaction pleasant rather than painful. The furious tail wagging suggested joy for the young husky, making it clear the canine lacked intentions to bite him. The sounds of whining reached Laurent's ears as he ceased the petting. The whining proceeded as the creature rubbed his head against Laurent's hand, displaying wishes the best a dog could.
[break][break]
"Hmm," the bearded man began, "Bet you need a home. Or at least somewhere to stay until your owners find ya, eh boy?"
[break][break]
It appeared unlikely somebody was searching for the unfortunate husky given the filthy condition of his pelt. Years of grim could coat those thick locks from neglect, furthermore, the matted fur had become what Laurent assumed would be a nightmare. As the creature's ears flattened and another whimper escaped his lips, the situation became more obvious. Somebody needed to assist the poor little fella. The fallen angel gestured for the dog to follow.
[break][break]
"C'mon. We will stop by the store and pick you up some food," Laurent offered the dog, as though he understood.
[break][break]
A high-pitch whistle escaped Laurent's pursed lips to signal the dog to follow. Obedience would be a questionable quality, but he found whistling made canines curious. Therefore, he hoped the husky would be fascinated enough to stay with him.
Pride found himself looking up to the man while waiting for some sort of indication. It wasn't until he heard the man speak a magical word that really got his attention. 'food' Pride's mouth watered at the thought of getting some food. He stood up from his sitting position watching the man carefully. He wasn't really sure where the man was headed but he was sure it would lead to some food. Pride wasn't sure why but he sure did love being called 'boy' like so many dogs naturally did. His tail continued to wag at the man with enough force the thing might as well have been putting off its own air stream behind the dog. Pride stuck out his tongue after hearing the man's words, almost as if the husky understood everything he spoke, he was ready to eat. He wagged his tail, and the sad demeanor that he was putting up for show seemed to disappear.
When the man stood up Pride felt somewhat worried. Was his newfound friend going to leave him now? It wasn't until the man whistled that he realized he should follow the man, like he was originally planning to. Pride trotted up behind the man in a playful mood. He stuck his head playfully near the backs of the man's legs trying to trip him up just a little bit before leaving the man alone. Pride was only teasing him playfully after all, it was a happy gesture and he had hoped the man could see the gesture for what it truly was, a happy gesture. He trotted up beside the man and turned his head to look up at the man with his tongue hanging out. He tilted his head to the side while still staring at the man and forgetting about anything that was in front of him. Pride barked happily with the tongue still sticking out almost as if saying. "Where we headed again?"
His tail wagged happily as he made his way beside the man, his thick fur coat shifting in the winds.
Dogs were always an enjoyable companion in Laurent’s opinion. They were admirably loyal creatures, evident from the stories people told about them. A smile played across the fallen angel’s lips as he watched the sweet little husky. The creature possessed plenty of spirit to his soul, evident by the joyous manner he reacted despite the cruelness of his circumstance. The husky's perseverance was admirable, especially considering Laurent believed the canine to have been abandoned. Born strays tended to be more aggressive, acting similarly to wolves rather than the dogs humans grew familiar with.
[break][break]
Plans swirled amidst Laurent's mind as the fallen angel decided to commit acts of benevolence. Feed the husky, give him a well-needed bath and provide the necessities. Afterwards, he would double-check for anybody searching for their lost canine before giving refuge. The creature stood, tail gleefully wagging as it accomplished the action. A soft, genuine smile traced the professor's lips as he observed the husky. Instances, where Laurent's stony expression was replaced with a non-artificial smile, were a rarity.
[break][break]
Frequently, Laurent exhibited characteristics of a serious demeanour and somebody haunted by an ill-favouring past. While the classroom allowed him to display passion and a soft sense of joy, things seldom managed to spark high sensations of jubilee. The animal's tongue lulled out in seeming comprehension, resulting in a soft chuckle. Chances were, the dog failed to understand a few choice words, and instead used the overall tone of his voice to discover his intentions. The high-pitched whistle appeared to work to plan as Laurent led his companion down the sidewalk.
[break][break]
A quick stop at the grocery store was the plan in order to purchase some dog food for the precious pup. Suddenly, the feeling of a head against the back of his legs resulted in a subtle stumble. Rather than display annoyance, Laurent chuckled gently at the canine. The pants could always be washed! Further, they ventured down the sidewalk, Laurent sparing a glance at the husky walking alongside him. The message behind the staring and bark was misinterpreted, the fallen angel providing the dog with a soft head rub in response.
[break][break]
As they approached the grocery store, Laurent's steps slowed and his eyes furrowed and thought. He never thought ahead to this portion of the plan... Somebody would be required to watch the husky while he entered the store to purchase his food... else the canine could believe the venture over and leave. A 'hmm' slipped from Laurent's lips as he paused by the doorway, attempting to think of a solution for his inconvenience.
Jaclyn had taken an early shift this morning, strolling around in her feline form until she had decided it was time for a snack. She was on her way back to the TRS HQ when she had caught Laurent's scent. She couldn't help but feel curious as she halted for a brief moment before changing course to head in the direction he had come from, noticing the scent was still fresh. As the scent became stronger, she soon noticed another scent nearby him and couldn't help but feel somewhat concerned. It wasn't until she rounded the corner that she had taken notice of Pride, whom was in his canine form and the grocery store with Laurent standing in front of it. She quickly shifted back in her human form, before lunging towards Laurent with the hope of hugging him from behind. She wore her TRS uniform, proving to still be on duty. "Laurent! Who is your friend here?" She asked, believing Pride to not be just some ordinary canine. If she managed to hug him, she'd proceed to attempt to steal his hat when pulling away.
Pride followed Laurent happily. He was even happier to get a nice pat of the head. For whatever reason he was receiving such a nice gesture, he did not know. He kept his gaze on Laurent walking at a brisk pace with the man. After stopping at the store's front doors the man stopped moving. Pride was confused by this and sat down beside him. He tilted his head to the side and barked at the man getting his attention. Pride was trying to see what this man's intentions were. Pride could often understand people come in and out of stores, so was this guy going to go into the store? Would he be back? The thought of such a kind man leaving him sounded ridiculous in his mind, but then again they had just met.
He barked again. "Hey, don't leave me out here stupid" He was saying in his bark, not really expecting anyone to be able to pick up the true meaning, or communicate with him in proper kind. He could understand Laurent, he wasn't completely dumb, he was still a shifter after all. He barked again. "Is there food in that place? I think I deserve food!" He stuck his tongue out while barking happily trying to maintain the man's attention.
It wasn't until he heard a someone approaching rather fast that Pride became scared as fast as the person approached. She was going to attack the man? Pride quickly became angered at the thought and retaliated in attempt to scare the person away from his human. This after all was Pride's ticket to food. He barked angrily his tail jolting back between his legs signalling that he was scared from the person's fast approach. He barked again and again at the person saying. "Hey! This guy is under my protection so get lost! I'll bite you! Don't even think of hurting him!" Pride growled at the woman as she tried to wrap her arms around the man, but he didn't lunge at her or attack her simply displayed that he was surprised, a bit scared, and angry.
Thoughts swirled through Laurent's head as he stood beside the threshold of the grocery store. His wishes to assist the canine in an unfortunate situation were becoming rocky from the circumstance. Should he enter the store, would the young husky remain sitting patiently until his return? He doubted the animal received a nutritious or proper diet, thus, a single wave of available food could send the young creature off running. In the dead of winter, there were no food cart stands, but there were still plenty of restaurants shovelling daily scraps into the garbage.
[break][break]
A gentle sigh flowed through his lips as he thought further. His gaze shifted when the dog began barking, his brown eyes locking onto the pooch. The canine's barking refused to cease, causing another sigh to leave Laurent's mouth. There was a chance the husky could attract unwanted attention to himself. Collarless, the dog would be an easy target for anybody a part of animal control. They would be doing their job gathering the stray, however, Laurent was always hesitant about using those avenues to locate owners.
[break][break]
There were upsetting stories of animals coming to their end because their owner could not be located and they were unable to be adopted. The fallen angel was wrapped in his thoughts, distracted by them as he attempted to formulate a plan to assure the dog's safety. Feet pounded on the pavement behind him, unnoticed until arms swung out and wrapped around. An impulsive sound of shock escaped Laurent's lips from the sudden hug attack. When the fallen angel glanced over his shoulder, he discovered Jaclyn in the infamous TRS garbs.
[break][break]
Despite the husky's barking, Laurent managed a smile to the young woman and cat shifter, although, his hand was quick to grab the tip of his cowboy hat. The long-haired woman was a notorious hat thief, at least, of his beloved cowboy hat. Although, her presence suggested the concoction of a plan to assure the dog would not runoff.
[break][break]
"He's a stray from what I know," Laurent explained to her. "I know you're on duty, but can I ask you for a favour? I need to go inside to get him some dog food. I plan on keepin' him with me until I find the owners. If they can be found that is... Can you watch him while I go inside? He is real friendly, but I can't just take him inside with me. Doubt the owners would like that."
[break][break]
The fallen angel was hopeful Jaclyn would be willing to accomplish this favour for him. They were friends, therefore, a chance existed of her being willing to grant him his wish. Although, he would have to calm the husky before anything else could transpire. Slowly, he offered his other hand to the black and white husky, hoping he would come closer so he could pet some ease into him.
Jaclyn ignored Pride as she proceeded to attempt to hug Laurent only to succeed. Pride seemed tense that she had the nerve to come up to Laurent like that, had she been in feline form she would have been able to understand exactly what he was saying, though because she was in her human form now, she couldn't understand him. Though that hadn't stopped her from imagining him as a possible shifter, she was positive Pride had a human form, just needed to figure out a way to prove it. She had asked Laurent her question, listening as she slowly pulled away, as she attempted to steal his hat. Laurent had grabbed his hat, making her fail in the attempt in stealing it. "You want me to stay outside with him? She asked, assuming that Laurent knew the gender from the get go. "I see." She answered, nodding her head, she glanced towards Pride.
Still believing him to have a human form but she just couldn't put her finger on how she'd go about proving it. The last thing she wanted to do was scare Pride off because he found out she knew his little secret. "Sure, I'll stay with him. You can count on me." She answered, secretly having no intentions on staying outside with Pride. She watched as Laurent reached out to pet Pride, slowly she bent her knees as she looked over at Pride. "Hi, I'm Jaclyn." She answered with a small smile before slowly holding her hand out, she was hopeful that Pride would sniff her, but didn't fear if there were worse consequences for being brave.
Pride watched angrily at the interaction between the female and the male. He was a little upset that the interaction between the two was getting more attention than he was receiving so of course he barked at the two. He wasn't quite paying attention to the conversation enough to actually get an understanding of what was going on but he deduced that it meant he was going to get food from inside that building. Whether or not Laurent decided to bring Pride was irrelevant, he was going to try to get into that store regardless if Laurent wanted him there or not. The only question would be if he could stop him from doing so. He stopped barking as the two at least seemed friendly together.
The woman even tried taking off the man's hat, something Pride was extremely happy to think about taking. He sat down as Laurent reached for him. He was happy to receive any pettings but was on his guard a bit for the newcomer female. She seemed friendly enough but she smelled of cat, what kind of witch was this woman? He groaned and did a loud pitch arf before reaching his nose towards the females hands. He sniffed her hand, and then immediately without reservation lathered his tongue all over the womans hand. He could taste the salt from her hands and had a nice little salt lick treat from it. He aggressively pursued licking her hands, but if she pulled away he would stop.
He barked again. "SO Are we going in that building? The foods in there right?" He was quite vocal. "Your name's Jaclyn well my name's Pride" He barked happily his tail wagging with a lot of force. He was quite content that she at least seemed friendly when she wasn't approaching from behind in a menacing manner.
As Laurent reached to soothe his unexpected companion, he provided the young husky with some petting. Those actions would assure the canine would hush and summon some happiness for the poor abandoned creature. The attention appeared to provide comfort, the dog's noises ceasing, but the fallen angel's hand becoming filth covered again. Slowly, he pulled his hand away, glancing down at the grime which coated them. Dirt was smeared over his weathered, well-calloused hands. It was something store patrons or owners would not appreciate having in their stores...
[break][break]
It meant he would be required to wash his hands before perusing the market for the dog food. Although, he first needed Jaclyn's agreement to watch over the filthy husky. Fortunately, the dark-haired woman never failed Laurent and promptly agreed to watch the young dog. The fallen angel granted her a smile, appreciating the scout's kindness in assisting him with the situation despite wearing her uniform. She was working, yet, she willingly placed time aside to watch over the dog and assure he would not leave.
[break][break]
"Thanks, Jaclyn. I will be quick," he responded with a smile before turning to the dog. "You stay with Jaclyn little guy. I will be back."
[break][break]
With those words, the fallen angel turned towards the doors of the market. Once he arrived at the double doors, he pushed open the double doors to purchase the husky some dog food and perhaps some treats.
