Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Wandering through the wilderness as the former knight of wolfs normally did every once in a while. He was followed by a small little pack of wolf pups. How did he come across them? Well, when he made his escape from the museum and first made his way to the wilderness. He had run into a wolf gored by the horn of a buck. the poor thing didn't have long for this world. Canis looking at the once proud Alpha once it calmed to his presents. had a look of request on its face. the poor wolf looked skinny and probably hunted the now deceased buck to feed its den. Nodding his helmed head Canis lifted the deer and followed the now deceased alphas tracks.
when he got to where the tracks end. He was met with the pup's mother. At first, she was skeptical of the giant faceless man as he dropped the former pack leads kill and perched near the den. It took her a while to warm up to him but with time and some prey dropped in from time to time. The pups curious nature was what finally what won her over knowing he wasn't a danger to them. Hence he became something of a sitter when she would hunt for there meals.
As Canis made his way through the woodlands he noticed the little ones wandered ahead. As he made his way to the edge of the forest he noticed the four pups were wagging their tails in anticipation of something. "What's got your attention little ones?" his voice came out in a calming manner.
Bosco couldn't help but feel stressed. He had tried explaining how he wasn't human, he was a canine... but despite his effort, Orion just wouldn't believe him. The nerve... not only was he forced into his own bedroom, sleeping where ever had just become a big no, but he was forced to attend school, what ever the hell this was. Of course prior to attending school, he had been taken shopping for new clothes, struggling to get him to try them on unless Orion held his hand in the process because being alone even for a second scared the shit out of him. Just after being dropped off at school, he had attempted to flee from the grounds. He didn't like being here, it wasn't home, these people made him nervous and they wouldn't leave him the hell alone. Orion had caught him trying to sneak away and kept him from leaving, so it wasn't until lunch that he was finally able to make his grand escape.
He had brought lunch, finishing it quickly, but he was still slightly hungry. In the middle of fleeing from school, he wandered around the city until heading in the wilderness. The smell of meat entered his nose as he wandered farther in. The stronger the smell came, a slight noise could be heard too. Pups came into view and he paused in front of them before moving to get on his knees to look back at them. They were adorable, looked somewhat like him, or like him in the perspective of being a canine breed too. They were wagging their tails and a voice could be heard, having not expected a voice of that to be humanish, coming from inside of the den. He backpedaled away from them, wishing for distance.
As Canis made his way to the clearing as the pups pounced and tackled the little boy and started lathering the poor sod with spit in greeting. Kneeling down next to the little ones chuckling in amusement as he finished setting himself down and crossing his legs."Seams you found an new playmate little ones." As he whistled them off the poor boy. addressing the young man in a calm voice. "So young man you lost?"
Bosco had backpedaled away, no sooner had he paused, having gone from being on his knees to being on his butt, the pups had rushed towards him, pouncing and tackling. The action hadn't really bothered him, however, the voice hidden in armor had come outside and he couldn't help but breath faster as the appearance. He hadn't left school just to be met with another... human, or at least a being that appeared like one. Canis had moved to sit down before whistling the pups off of him, he remained laying on his back, looking up at the sky as his breathing increased, clearly freaking out before suddenly going unconscious.
Canis head tilted in confusion as the boy passed out cold. raising to his full height picked up the comatose boy and whistled the pups to follow him back to where he had set up camp near there den. As he was carrying the pasted out boy he was trying to figure out why the boy had passed out. he didn't look worse for wear. but maybe a good meal would help?
Once at the camp, it was a simple set. Toward the edge of the camp was a simple hut without a door where he would sometimes sit when the weather was not best also it housed a massive club he would use when he had to defend the forest from a terror or two. In the center of the camp was a simple fire pit with rocks setup to cook when he had to. Setting the passed out boy on some animal skins setup in his hut, Canis made his way to the firepit after getting some firewood.
Pulling a flint and steel from his satchel which was built into his armor and started a fire in the pit. pulling some salted meat from his kit as the pups watched the boy he set them on the stone as he fanned the fire with his massive hand. AS the meat cooked the pup's mother decided to pay him a visit with a new addition to the spread. " Ah, Millian see your back." Canis chuckled as Millian set the doe near a stone table he had setup next to the fire pit where he would sometimes butcher prey he or the mother brought back.
Lifting the doe and tieing a hide rope around the hide legs of the doe he hung the animal upside down on a rack he built for such things. pulling a simple blade from a sheath and setting a wooden bowl underneath the doe and split the deer down the middle and pulled the does organs out and placed them in the bowl. whistling for the pups as he set the bowl out for them the pups perked up as the smell of food came across there sensitive nose's.
Making his way back to the fire pit Millian's tail was wagging as she eyed the cooking meat. "It'll be done soon Mill." As he went to check on his little comatose guest.
Bosco's breathing seemed to even out shortly after he went unconscious. He didn't stir when Canis had picked him up from the ground to carry him back to where he had set up a camp near the den. He laid on the animal skins, unstirring after Canis had set him down. Minutes seemed to go by and he still didn't wake up. A scent entered his nose when the doe had been brought back to the camp before Canis had opened it up for the pups to eat. Slowly his eyes started to open noticing that he wasn't in the place he had gone unconscious at, no, more like a camp? Footsteps could be heard before he noticed Canis coming back towards him. I'm a dog... He thought to himself, encouraging a shift, desiring to look like the pups he had seen earlier. Despite shifting into his canine form, he couldn't help but shiver in fear at the thought of Canis moving closer to him.
Rose was skipping through the forest to visit her steed today it was dreadfully dull at the little tree she called home. Also, the puppies he hung around were cute too. As she got closer humming while she skipped to where her horsie/adopted uncle lived she noticed another puppy had come visit her uncle. As she got closer she let out what any little girl would let out when seeing something that caught there eye "PUPPY!" she let out loudly and with glee as her little feet moved her faster than some her size could move as she sat next to Bosco and started scratching his ears.
As Canis went to check on the boy a blond and white blur ran past him and started petting a dog. it was strange but he was an oddity himself and the dog still smelled of the boy so no harm no foul. Seeing as Bosco was up and was in good hands he turned to see if the meat he was cooking was ready turning to the little girl who since meeting him decided to use him as an easy way to get around the forest. She was a good girl maybe a little young but she wormed her way into his undead heart the same way the pups had. the only diffrents was she had a much bigger role to play then the pups.
Finding another wooded bowl and moving a few cubes of cooked venison in it he moved his way to the boy turned dog. In a calm voice "Here is some food boy." as he set the bowl in front of him while rose continued petting Bosco behind his ears.Canis Made his way back to the doe he was bleeding and started skinning it."So boy you got a name?"
Bosco started breathing faster when he noticed another scent coming in their direction. Having been too frightened to move from his spot, Rose had been given enough time to approach before taking a seat next to him to scratch his ears. People were problematic, the only time he was ever able to handle company was when it came nice and slowly and though it was his fault for running out here in the first place, it had been their fault for not realizing that. Canis had brought back a bowl with food in it before setting it down in front of him, he suddenly leaned forward to eat it up, ignoring Canis' question because all he wanted to do was to flee from them. Plus it wasn't like he could speak in canine form anyway, that was reserved for other animals. Once he was finished eating, he fled towards Millian, believing her to be the only person that could possibly keep him safe from these people. Or at the very least Rose, who had no sense of personal space. His breathing remained fast as he attempted to hide behind the mother wolf, fear still evident as his breathing increased. For his canine form, he was still smaller than the usual size that one would expect to see from his species.
Rose pouted as the boy turned puppy made its way next to Millian pleading for her help. As Canis watched the boy's actions. seamed he wasn't good with people. The mother wolf sensing something wrong with the boy turned her attention to him nuzzling him motherly with her snout in an attempt to calm him down. Canis being reminded of the pack that raised him all those years ago let out a hardy chuckle." Boy seams Milly has taken a liking to ya." As the large armored man set about preparing the doe removing the skin and setting it over a rack he used for tanning as he addressed the young guardian of this forest."Lady Rose can be a little clingy." As Rose pouted at being called clingy.
Rose still pouting at her self adoptive uncle calling her out." I can't help it Horsie the puppy looked so cute. It would be a crime not to pet it." she said justifiy her actions. still, in Canises hut, she grabbed a leather ball he had made for her to play with the pup's when she visited. and exited the hut getting the feed wolf pup's attention as they noticed the ball she held. "Ready to play some fetch puppies?" The incident before gone from her mind.
the reaction was almost instant. the empty bowl forgotten as the ball was now the center of there attention. Rose summoning as much strenth her little girl arms could muster. as she swung her arm around and round let the ball fly. It did go far but it went a nice distance. The puppies dashed in an attempt to be the first to catch it. While Rose had a happy smile pasted on her face.

[attr="class","carvedesc"]
How long do I have to prove myself for you to finally see that?! I work harder than anybody else, but you just keep dragging me down!
[attr="class","carvenotes"]@bosco , @inggot, @rose I HAS ARRIVED!
[attr="class","carvetext"]The newest version of "the norm" was integrated quickly into the Hollins household after they discovered Bosco's true species. The adorable St. Bernard was not merely a dog, but rather, a shifter who hid in his dog form. It was something completely unexpected and summoned conflicted emotions inside of Orion. Supernatural creatures were something that, under most circumstances, Orion despised. It was not neccessarily the creatures as a whole who manifested this opinion, but rather, the malicious hellhound father who nearly claimed his and his mother's life.
The man was purely a monster, hellbent on killing the people who opposed his will and decided to abandon him because of those abusive behaviours. The topic was sensitive but enough to create hatred for the human who nearly met Thanatos prematurely. Alas, Bosco was somebody who acted as a therapeutic source of attention in Orion's life. An animal who stationed himself beside him, assisting through the difficulties in Orion's life. Perhaps it was the reason the black-haired man failed to hate the young boy who helped him through the years.
Thus, Orion assisted his mother with processing the papers to have Bosco transferred as a Canadian citizen and later enroll him into the school system. The revelation meant they would be expected to help the shifter progress into becoming a productive member of society. While Bosco was against the notion of attending school, it was necessary to assure he could learn what was required to earn a degree. When early morning arrived, Orion would rouse Bosco, help him get prepared for school while Orion got prepared for another day at work.
Once breakfast was consumed and both parties were prepared for the day, Orion drove Bosco to school, escorting him into the building and reminding him he needed to stay and attend his classes. Afterwards, the police officer headed to his occupation which consisted of patrol-based work for the morning. The first escape attempt by Bosco was thwarted, thus Orion was under the assumption the shifter would stay and attend classes. For the morning they accomplished their duty before stomping for lunch at the station, however, misfortune would strike.
The police officer's phone had started ringing, Orion promptly answering it to discover Bosco left school during the noon hour, thus, he left work suddenly after explaining the situation. His colleagues promised to keep their eyes open, a majority being requested to patrol the area around the high school. Meanwhile, Orion exited work, heading to his car and bringing up the tracking app originally given to Bosco when he was a dog. Every morning, he planted the device on Bosco out of concern for these types of situations.
In haste, the black-haired man secured his phone to the specialized holder designed for when it acted as a GPS. Quickly, Orion pulled out of the police station's parking lot, heading onto the roads while following the map displayed on his phone through the streets and out of town. The destination was something that displeased the officer, Calico Forest, a piece of Lorsette's wilderness. There was plenty of land to cover inside the forest, thus the young man paused, grabbing his police radio.
"This is Officer Hollins, I followed Bosco's tracker and it seems to be in Calico Forest. Can you bring out reinforcements?" Orion requested in a serious, clear tone.
Under most circumstances, he would follow the tracker and find Bosco somewhere inside Lorsette; usually the TRS headquarters. Unfortunately, his former pet decided to lurk somewhere dangerous for most people to enter because of the terrors. An answer was provided over the radio, something along the lines of staying put until backup arrived. Initially, Orion had believed he could handle the situation on his own, however, he refused to stand down when the person who supported him could be in danger. The radio was returned to his lips.
"Can't do that, I'm not risking him being in danger. I will be careful," Orion stated, promising his safety,
Moments later, he walked forward, heading into the treeline, eyes scanning his surroundings as he searched for his beloved friend. The RCMP were likely to bring other vehicles to assist with the search, however, the black-haired man's worries made it impossible to disobey orders. He walked further into the woods, searching for signs of Bosco.
He cupped mouth with his hands, shouting loud and clear, "Bosco! Where are you?!"
After the call, he proceeded forward at a slower pace, ears listening for a return shout or the familiar barks of Bosco's dog form. He needed to find him as soon as possible.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
Canis stopped what he was doing as a call could be heard as Millian's ears perked as she smelled something foreign entered her territory. She let out a few barks commanding her children to make their way to there den for safety.and protectively pushing Bosco to the den. Canis moved his massive form to the little stream near the den to wash the blood from the doe off his gauntleted hands. after which he made his way to Rose kneeling so she could get on his shoulder."Miss rose seams we have another guest. how about we great them?"
The little girl nodded as she gracefully made her way on to the massive man's shoulder."Lets!" the little forest nymph laughed as she got on her steed." mush horsie!" she commanded as Canis made his way to the voice calling for Bosco. As he and his little rider got closer to the voice and Canis caught the sent of Orion. As Bosco's caretaker came into view Canis announced himself in a deep voice."Welcome stranger." Canis greeted, "If you're searching for a Boy turned dog I may have found him. Please follow me." with that said Canis turned and make his way to his little camp.
Millian had turned around, nuzzling him motherly with her snout. The action made him feel somewhat calmer as he remained in his spot. Bosco heard Canis' comment but to him, Millian was another canine, a mother to be exact. So it hadn't crossed his mind that they were two seperate species. Millian being a pure wolf and he a shifter that was capable of shifting into a canine. The words about Rose being clingy were ignored as his focus was on Millian. A noise came from the distance. His ears perked from the sound of Orion calling his name. He was very familiar with him, that including the trouble he'd be in for having Orion have to search for him again.
Of course he'd have to go home sooner or later, to him Orion's home was his home. If the noise wasn't enough confirmation, Orion's scent seemed to fill the air. Millian let out a few barks for the pups to make their way towards the den. He stayed put, since he knew Orion had come for him. He felt a light push and moved towards the den, since Millian wished it to be so. He could understand their language, but felt too shy to communicate with them. A conversation could be heard in the distance, proving that Canis and Rose had met with Orion and were attempting to lead him back here. Meanwhile, he curled in a ball, shivering slightly as he waited for Orion to find him.
[attr="class","carvetext"]The steel-blue eyes of Officer Hollins glanced around Calico Forest, searching for the shifter he considered similar to a younger brother. The child was lost somewhere inside the forest according to his tracking app and Orion knew he needed to find him. The Calico Forest was a dangerous location for anybody, especially an anxiety-ridden child. Each step was slowly taken, eyes desperately searching in hopes of finding Bosco before something else lurking in the woods decided his precious friend was a good, vulnerable target.
As he moved deeper through the forest, the police officer's worries increased. Trees outstretched across the air, making it difficult to see long distances. A frown crawled onto Orion's face when he did not receive an answer from the shifter. What if something horrible happened? More steps were taken, a frantic nature entering each movement as his eyes gazed through the trees, seeking the young blond placed in his care. Finding Bosco was a top priority which left Orion with the option to keep moving and searching for the boy who was originally his pet.
The subtle clack of armour breached his ears, shattering focus as his gaze drifted, landing on somebody glad in medieval-esk armour with a young, blonde girl upon his shoulders. The officer tensed, uncertain about the scene which was unfolding, but he eased when a masculine voice spoke from inside the armour. A boy turned dog, a simple sentence which immediately made the black-haired man think of Bosco.
"I am," he answered, quiet with a slight hesitance.
When the mysterious man turned, Orion paused for merely a moment before following. He kept a wary caution to each step but trailed the stranger. Without any proper leads to Bosco's location other than a tracker used to give him a generalized area, the officer had few options. He needed to find the blond boy quickly, or the shifter would face those consequences for any slowness.
