Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
she hadn't been expecting that. though what exactly had she been expecting? him to reject her offer. though she was glad he hadn't. she smiled and nodded at his request."sure, i like a challenge."she told him."though you're making it sound like a competition? if i'm the winner what do i get?"she said with a laugh as she felt her cheeks start to become warm. the way it sounded made it seem like she wanted something from him. of course this was all out of fun. she wouldn't expect anything and if he didn't like them. then it was just more experience for her to learn and grow.
they hadn't even finished talking when her mind had already started to figure out when and what ingredients she had a home. what she needed to pick up from the store. should she keep it simple? well it was a muffin and you couldn't go wrong with muffins. though she still hadn't asked when or where she was going to deliver this goodies to be taste tested."do you want my number? i mean so you can tell me when it's best for you and where you want me to drop off the muffins."
it was rather bold of her to ask. though maybe he would be coming down to the bakery itself? well, what's done was done.
she laughed softly."alright. so long as you try. also if you must know i've only burned myself once this week, but yes safety first."she said with a smile despite the redness in her cheeks slowly creeping.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Offerings of pastry delights made Orion forget about species, the notion of delicious blueberry muffins bringing a small smile to his face. He could hardly complain about receiving muffins in the future from an aspiring chef; at least he assumed considering Elysia was in culinary school. The RCMP officer thought those muffins were bound to be outstanding because of those culinary classes, therefore, he became curious about tasting them. Unfortunately, the opportunity to sample Elysia's cooking wound arrive at a later date. The smile which traced her lips after his request prompted Orion to do similar, although, with slight awkwardness in the expression. Their conversation was enjoyable to the human, perhaps because it involved delicious treats he would get come the future. A subtle red breached his fair complexion when Elysia transformed the situation into a competition and the final comment... At the end of Elysia's words, it sounded like she expected some sort of prize from him, which caught him off guard. The circumstances were contest-like, however, the unexpected question followed by a laugh surprised him.
Orion provided a casual shrug before quietly asking, "well... what do you want then? Coffee maybe?"
The law enforcement officer was uncertain about what he could offer as payment for winning the competition. Coffee shops were among the few locations where Orion could get something for the ginger-haired beauty, but only if some consumable tempted her tastebuds. For once, the human wished he possessed more skills so he could reward Elysia for baking the batch of muffins for his consumption and comparison. Eyes were widened when his former classmate offered her phone number, however, it was under reasonable circumstances. Contact information was necessary for when he asked for the muffins and she later delivered on the request.
"Yeah... guess I need that," he responded with an awkward smile.
Hastily after the agreement, the dark-haired man fetched his phone from the depths of his pocket, holding it in a single hand. The phone itself had a black front, a plain, red case covering the back, making his favoured colour obvious. A finger was placed on the home button, the device quickly responded, identifying him as somebody worthy of access. After a few simple taps, the contacts menu was displayed and a new contact was created with the name 'Elysia'. He offered his phone to her afterwards so she could type in her phone number. Once the action was completed, Orion opened the messaging area and sent a simple 'Hi' to complete the number exchange.
"There," he said before smirking and adding, "now we can have a proper muffin contest."
The soft laugh followed by a statement about only burning herself once this week. The disappeared as Orion shook his head, displeased with the notion, he never liked burns. A few moments later, his brows lifted in confusion as a frown breached his face.
"Wait... then how often do you burn yourself?" He inquired with a pang of worry.
Burns always made Orion uneasy, mostly because of the damage they caused to his mother and nearly him. He quivered thinking about his abusive father hovering over him with a handful of fire, prepared to fatally burn his son. Those injuries were no joking matters to the RCMP officer, specifically because of his sensitive history. Undoubtedly, he would have died by fire if his mother never defended him and stood up against the abuse. She was the real hero in his life, wheelchair-bound because she decided her child's life was more important than her own. It was something Orion remembered daily as he assisted with chores and assured his mother would have a comfortable life despite what happened.

replaying that words in her head. she could understand how it made it sound like she was expecting something out of this. as if her cheeks were not warm already. she shook her head."no, that's not what i meant at all. really, i'm doing this because i want to, not because i expect anything in return."she tried to explain herself as quickly as she could. well that was wonderful, not she made herself seem like she only did things because she expected them in return. could she mess things up even more?
she sighed softly hoping she made herself clear that she wasn't expecting something from him. she had brought up exchanging numbers. she reached for his phone and entered her number before handing it back to him. she laughed softly at his words.
"yeah, just let me know when to drop them off."she told him with a nod. muffins wouldn't take too long to make. the process was pretty simple, though it might seem like a difficult task because of the various tasks. especially if you made everything from scratch, which she intended to do."they are the best fresh out of the oven. when they are still nice and warm."
it wasn't too long after that she had received a message. pulling her phone out of the pocket of her apron. opening the message that she received from orion and quickly adding him as a contact. she looked up when he asked her how many times she'd burned herself."oh, not that much. i mean accidents happen."
before slipping the phone back into her pocket. she stuck her hands out towards him, wiggling her fingers and rotating her arms to show him that she was fine."see nothing here. i heal pretty quickly."she told him with a reassuring smile.
she wasn't going to go into detail on how she got burned. though they had all been accidents. touching something that she wasn't expecting to be hot or that one time the oven door had gotten her."i promise i'm not that clumsy and careless."
[attr="class","carvetext"]Rewards or bragging rights were the usual prizes of successfully winning a competition. It was something Orion grew familiar with because of the many sports he participated in. The medals and rewards they received for an excellent job were carefully stored away in a box. Those were the good memories, thus his mother assured each medal, small trophy or any other items remained in pristine condition. Thus the human was not overly surprised by Elysia desiring a reward. There was red on the ginger's cheeks after he offered coffee as a prize. A brow raised in confusion since the black-haired man was uncertain about what he managed to tint those cheeks red. Although, he smiled slightly when Elysia shook her head, evidently not wanting a reward for her efforts. Despite claiming she wanted to cook these muffins without a reward, Orion was already planning on getting her coffee as some type of payments. Perhaps not a reward for winning, but more of a thank you. She was being generous, thus it was the least he could accomplish to assure Elysia received some sort of appreciative gesture, although, Orion was uncertain how long he planned to stay.
"Well... then how about coffee as a thank you at least? I can't just take something without giving you something in return," Orion insisted with a small smile.
Even if the original statement was merely a joke-ish remark, Orion figured he could afford to buy her coffee at least once as payment for a few muffins. Besides, if his math was correct, muffins were more expensive than the dark waters of caffeinated delight. The exchange of numbers occurred smoothly despite the dark-haired man's inexperience on the subject. Privacy and introversion was something Orion was known for, thus he sparingly exchanged numbers with other people; fortunately, the concept was extremely simple. A small nod was given when Elysia stated to inform her of when to drop off the muffins, however, they grew at the statement of fresh muffins being better.
"That is always the best," he agreed. "Especially when they are- ... uh... nevermind."
A subtle red-painted Orion's cheeks as he nearly broadened Elysia's knowledge on his addiction to sweets. Chocolate muffins tended to be delectable, the melted chips enriching the muffin as chocolate soaked into the warm, freshly cooked dough. Unfortunately, those delights could not be shared with Bosco because of the poisonous element for dogs that chocolate held. Under most circumstances, the dark-haired man avoided chocolate creations being cooked, partially for his health, but also to sneak pieces to the beloved family pet. How could he possibly resist at all times when Bosco was the sweetest dog around? Concerns over burns always entered Orion's mind, the young man even avoiding tamed campfires or anything of the sort after the abuse which occurred. Fear surrounded the notion of flames because of the damage inflicted, therefore he carefully glanced over Elysia's hands for signs of burns. The sentence mentioning fast healing reminded Orion that Elysia was among the supernatural, the people who caused him pain, to begin with. The human's smile faded briefly, only to return with a slight awkwardness and strain to the curve of his lips.
"I see... well be careful," he responded in a quieter tone.
Familiarity and nostalgia was something frequently longed for, thus, Orion became blinded by those thoughts. Preoccupied with a pleasant conversation with a former schoolmate resulted in him starting a bigger conversation than expected. While he treated supernatural creatures civilly, Orion's clouded thoughts brought him back to the moment his father pinned him to the floor and summoned fire in his hand. It was a frightful reminder of how much power supernatural creatures held over humans, which was an upsetting notion.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she didn't want to be rude either. if she just kept refusing a simple cup of coffee. would he start to think that she had ulterior motives? which certainly wasn't the case. she simply loved to bake. it wasn't like she was going to eat every single thing she baked. besides coffee wouldn't be a bad thing. the worst thing that could happen would them sitting in silence. though that wouldn't be so bad either. they seemed to be doing well now."alright, but just coffee. nothing super expensive."she tells him with a smile.
they both agreed that muffins were best once they were out of the oven. of course you had to let them cool down for a bit. it would be no good to burn ones taste buds. she looked at him curiously and without thinking she stepped a little bit closer. this was all to familiar to her. she would always try to corner des whenever he wanted to keep something from her. not that she was really that intimidating to be honest."when they are what?"had he almost told her what he really liked or perhaps a certain way he enjoyed his muffins?
perhaps with extra berries or something similar? despite him saying that he didn't have a favorite baked good, he surely have one that he would rather eat over another. or was he simply going to say something he shouldn't of? he didn't seem to be the type to easily reveal that type of information, no matter how much elysia would try to get it out of him. she figured she wouldn't annoy him anymore than she already was."it's okay you don't have to tell me."she said with a laugh.
it wasn't till now that she had caught on to his manner of speaking. it made her wonder if she had said something wrong? as soon as she mentioned getting burned he seemed to be curt in his answers. it wasn't till she gave it more thought that she had remembered how everyone was talking about the fire at his home. just because he seemed fine, that didn't mean that perhaps that didn't leave him with some sort of negative feelings towards it. who wouldn't be afraid after that situation though. she started to wish not having mentioned it at all.
she felt rather bad and she simply nodded. she felt awkward and what could she really say? the phone buzzed in her pocket and she gave it a quick glance. she had been so wrapped up in her conversation with orion that she had forgotten why she had been walking around in the first place."i forgot i was suppose to get my friend an ice cream. do you want some?"she figured she'd offer. she just wanted to let him know that she wasn't running away. she was enjoying their conversations despite the awkwardness.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Coffee payment fancied Orion because of his love for the dark-coloured beverage. The payment was inexpensive, but nonetheless something he could accomplish for Elysia in trade for the delicious blueberry muffins she would bake one day. Furthermore, an agreement would allow the police officer to purchase his favourite drink. Offering people coffee was a clever move for the dark-haired human, thus he occasionally offered in order to purchase the warm, caffeinated drink for himself. Part of him wondered what Elysia's favourite coffee was, however, the time to discover those facts will arrive when he could repay her with coffee. A bashful smile was flashed back when the ginger insisted nothing expensive as payment for the muffins. The smile disappeared promptly afterwards; Orion was never overly smiley under most circumstances. After his minor slip up, the RCMP officer remained silent, praying he would not be prompted to complete his sentence. Chocolate, as delicious as it was, remained something he considered merely a treat since over-exposure to sugary foods was unhealthy.
Since enlisting in RCMP training, the dark-haired human ceased consuming sweets to assure his physical condition remained in its prime. The subtle step forward made Orion's cheeks burn with heat as he glanced away awkwardly. When she inquired about what he was going to say, Orion shook his head.
"Don't worry about it, it's not important," he insisted.
Initially, Orion was concerned about possible persistence in discovering the words which nearly escaped his lips, however, fortune smiled upon him. The moment Elysia stated it was fine if he wished to not inform her, the dark-haired man's body relaxed as a relieved sigh flowed through his lips. Strain entered the discussion when burns were mentioned. Conversating over the topic was a difficulty for Orion, both from his mother's condition and his fears of fire. An abusive father who nearly burned the young boy was enough to mentally scar him. Despite armed criminals and the dangerous situations started from his RCMP career, the thought of his father hovering over him, fire fueled in his hands was the scariest memory in Orion's mind. As the thoughts consumed his mind, his eyes locked with the ground. Those few moments were pondered, being a constant rewind in his mind. The alert of Elysia's cellphone snapped the police officer from his thoughts, eyes promptly returning to her. The offer to get ice cream was answered with a casual shrug.
"Sure," he answered quietly.
Guarded tones were subtle in Orion's voice as the agreement left his lips. A distraction from those dark memories was always welcomed. Those thoughts were a consuming force, removing the positive emotions while an empty pit formed in his stomach. The young man prayed he would never be on the receiving end of those flames, but only time would tell.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she hadn't even made the muffins yet and she was already getting a tiny bit nervous about this coffee event. honestly she was more worried about him not liking the muffins she baked. what if they were too sweet or worse not sweet enough? this wasn't helping. she needed to focus on her current task. which was not being overbearing. why was it that one begins to think whatever they do isn't ever good enough for someone they are trying to impress. it wasn't like she was a complete novice. how long had she been baking now? both her father and brother hadn't complained to her about her cooking and baking skills.
they were both honest and she wasn't the type to take criticism to heart. if anything it would help her improve.
she had managed to catch something. well, it sounded like he wanted to elaborate on something. though he continued to tell her that it wasn't anything important. she giggled softly at his reaction. it was probably rude of her to step so closely to him, but for whatever reason she felt comfortable around him. well, now that their awkwardness subsided.
was it her imagination or had it been just a little tense? whatever the case she figured it was best not to linger on that thought. the text message returned her focus. she had almost forgotten she was suppose to bring the ice cream back. she smiled, glad that he had accepted her invitation. she checked her phone one last time before she started to walk."i think i saw the stand over this way."she mentioned as maneuvered around the large crowd. her phone went off and she checked the message. taking note of what flavor her co-worker wanted. they were nearing the stand she figured she'd ask."do you know what you're getting?"
[attr="class","carvetext"]Endless curiosities related to the muffins floated through Orion's mind despite the subtle strains manifested from the mentioning of fires and memories of Elysia's species. It was a lingering thought, perhaps one fixated on to avoid frightful memories of fire in his father's hands as he threateningly pinned and prepared to harm him. Something soft like muffins was a contrast to the startling memories of his childhood, therefore his thoughts were lured to the notion. Running away from those thoughts were easier, especially during public situations like the Pride Month party. The memories haunted him, but these were his problems and nobody else. Alleviating the burden by settling those thoughts onto their shoulders felt wrong to Orion, especially since these bothersome thoughts belonged to him. The horrible background the black-haired man possessed was something he never shared unless placed with an individual whose duty was to assist him mentally. Anybody else did not deserve to face the horrible reality of his abusive childhood spent with his abhorrent father. The offer of ice cream accomplished a similar goal of distracting.
Quietly, he nodded and followed Elysia through the crowd and towards the ice cream stand. The officer remained behind the ginger-haired woman as they navigated the bustling crowd. The sounds of phone alerts assisted in leading Orion since the familiar seemed to be texting her previously mentioned friend. When they arrived at the stand, Orion offered a shrugged to Elysia's question.
"Not sure yet, I'm thinking maybe strawberry," he responded with a tiny smile. "What about you?"
His countenance lacked strength in the emotion, the weak smile manifesting as he shoved down those dreadful memories. The black-haired man spared a few extra moments to contemplate, attempting to fend off those negative memories and thoughts. Alas, he was leaning towards the strawberry flavour opposed to the other options.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she continued sending messages here and there. she was getting updated on sales, and of course she was apologizing for being gone for so long. though honestly she wasn't sure how long she had been gone. it felt like a few minutes. elysia promised two scoops of ice cream to her co-worker and that seemed to be alright. as she walked, she made sure she looked up so she would avoid running into people. texting and walking really wasn't something she should be doing. after the last message was sent she put her phone back into the pocket of her apron.
the walk towards the ice cream was rather quiet. which was fine, as elysia had been busy texting. though she had managed to ask him what he was planning on getting. hearing his possible choice she smiled."strawberry's my favorite actually. so i'll be getting that. i'll let you have some if you decide on a different flavor."she told him as she approached the line waiting for her turn. there wasn't too many people before it was their turn.
she stepped up and ordered for herself and her co-worker. digging into her pocket for money, she paid as quickly as she could and stuffed her change back into her pocket before she received her ice cream and moved out of the way. she had gotten a cone, seeing as it would be easier for her to eat. while she got her co-worker two scoops of chocolate in a cup.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Silence reigned as Orion allowed Elysia to text her friend about the ice cream choices. Throughout the weaving through the crowd, the human pondered his ice cream choices. He was hardly bothered by the ginger-haired woman's attention being fixated elsewhere. They were not attending the parade together, thus he maintained his silence as distance was closed on the ice cream booth. The law enforcement officer's eyes naturally surveyed the area as they ventured through the crowd. Grinning faces were everywhere as people released the endless fears of the Assembly of Phantoms attacking and warranted themselves some well-needed joy. Nowadays, a massive group of people enjoying themselves without paranoia lurking in their expressions was a rarity. Nobody knew where criminals skulked, awaiting to accomplish their vile acts when observant eyes drew their fixation elsewhere. A soft sigh escaped Orion's lips as he proceeded to follow Elysia, the inner RCMP officer checking for any trouble in the crowd. As they stood, decisions being made about ice cream flavours, Orion's eyes occasionally drifted away.
When his steel-blue eyes returned to Elysia, he noticed her smile as she stated strawberry was her favourite. There was a warmth he discovered in the ginger's friendly grin. The warmth which manifested brief heart flutters and motivated the dark-haired man to return the smile, although, with a subtle air of nervousness. The final words from Elysia prompted his cheeks to tint red from the offer. Sharing ice cream was something he never associated with friendship, but rather, a more playfully intimate interaction between couples.
"I... will probably just get strawberry," Orion answered, a slight bashfulness evident in his tone.
The red hue continued to colour his cheeks, the subtle heat of his face resulting in his gaze being fleeting. Only a few moments after glancing at the ginger-haired woman did Orion's eyes lingered on the ground to avoid her's. Admittedly, the police officer felt embarrassed and flustered from Elysia's surprise offer moments ago. Patiently, he waited in line, eyes avoiding his former schoolmate entirely. When his time arrived to purchase his ice cream, Orion hastily fished out his wallet and provided an adequate amount of money with a small portion of change left over. Throughout the exchange, the dark-haired human found himself nervous about the redness of his face, thus he told the individual working the stand to keep the change and vacated the area. He purchased a cone of ice cream, solely because he enjoyed the crunch a pleasant waffle cone provided. Slowly, the human approached Elysia, uncertain of what to say after the earlier exchange of words; his thoughts simply made things awkward...
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she was glad to know things were going smoothly on the other end. she hadn't planned on leaving them all by themselves. though she was reassured it was fine. they had talked about ice cream flavors and it made her wonder if he liked other strawberry flavored foods. she hadn't even made the initial muffins and her she was thinking of something else she could make. if not for him perhaps for his family. it wasn't like she was going to feed him everything she baked.
it would probably be weird if she stared, but he had the loveliest smile. perhaps it was because she'd never been around to see him smile? she nodded at his response. there was no need to share if he was getting his own. she hadn't thought much of the offer as she had often shared with friends. his reaction was something she wasn't aware of.
after paying for the ice cream she moved out of the way and began to eat her ice cream as she waited for orion. she figured they would have to part ways soon. it wasn't like she could stay here. she had an ice cream to deliver and the recipient would hope it wasn't melted."did you want to see what sort of goodies we have at our booth? i mean you can redeem your coupons now or later at the shop."she enjoyed her time with him, though honestly she really needed to get back to work and she was sure he needed to go back too.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Strawberry ice cream was a dessert Orion enjoyed on most occasions, however, chosing the flavour allowed him to narrowly dodge awkwardly sharing with Elysia. Chances were, he would manage to embarrass himself through his bashful reactions. Maintaining a calm countenance would be difficult considering the law enforcement officer admittedly found the young woman rather attractive. Her physique was stunning, pleasant curves and an enchanting face framed by beautiful ginger-coloured hair. The friendliness she displayed kept him from leaving accompanied by the positive vibes of school-based nostalgia. Carefully, Orion tasted the wonderful strawberry ice cream, allowing the sweetness to coat his tongue and the pleasant coldness needed on a warm summer day. Despite his earlier thoughts on the ice cream sharing situation, Orion exited the line and approached Elysia, preparing himself to spend more time with her. Surprisingly, their interaction was satisfying and genuinely making the Pride Month festivities more enjoyable for the dark-haired police officer. When the question about goodies arrived, Orion gave a slight smile and nodded.
"Yeah, bet my mom and aunt will be wondering what's there," Orion responded.
Chances were, the question would be asked when they headed over to get their baked delights, thus giving ideas to what the booth sold would be useful. Unfortunately, the dark-haired human easily guessed their interaction would be ending shortly since Elysia was expected to work the festivities. Their conversation was bound to conclude as a result, yet, Orion held unexplainable mixed feelings over the concept.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she wished she didn't have to work, but it wasn't like she was going to keep him all to herself. after all he hadn't come here with her. he was happy they had an opportunity to talk. it was probably why she had asked if he would come to her booth. she liked that they could be quiet and everything was fine. they were not filling the void with empty words.
she smiled at his response. she also wondered what was left. she hoped they didn't have to bring back too much. it was easier to pack the containers when they were empty. plus that meant people liked their baked good. she started towards her booth, walking at a moderate pace. she still glanced around the booths as they walked past them."do you know their favorites? maybe we have them."as she continued licking her ice cream. she wanted to finish it before she got back. she had only gotten one scoop, but it was a fairly decent size.
she spotted her co-worker and thankfully their booth wasn't too crowded, by the time they reached the table. the last costumer had left. she handed her the cup of the frozen treat. she remained on the other side of the table as she finished the rest of her ice cream."we still have blueberry muffins."she told orion as she pointed them out.
[attr="class","carvetext"]Quietly, Orion followed Elysia through the throng of people enjoying the Pride Month festivities. Occasionally, he spared a moment to lick the strawberry ice cream piled in a rough, waffle cone. The sweetness of the strawberry flavouring in the dairy delight was pleasant as it played across Orion’s tongue. Their interaction was charming because of both the nostalgia and fortunate smoothness it managed to maintain between them. As the dark-haired man followed the ginger, his steel-blue eyes wandered around, gazing at the decorations he had not viewed. Colourful, vibrant and beautiful, the park was truly transformed into a rainbow-covered wonderland. There was something unnatural about it because of Lorsette's dreary circumstances and the violent attacks accomplished by their enemies. Alas, the colourful array appeared to be pleasing the citizens enjoying the festivities, he just prayed the Assembly would not arrive to ruin the situation. Everybody appeared content for once and discovering these moments of happiness in a city ridden with crime and malicious Assembly members was extremely difficult.
Only moments later did Orion's attention returned to Elysia, being prompted when he heard her speak. A simple question which prompted a shrug from the RCMP officer.
"I don't think they really have one," he answered quietly.
As they continued their walk to the cafe's booth, Orion kept consuming his strawberry ice cream, the scoop gradually reaching the edges of the roughly textured waffle cone. Eventually, they reached the booth as a customer left with their delicious pastry of some sort. They approached the bakery stand, Orion's eyes wandering around the baked delights they brought for people to purchase during the festivities. A small grin stretched across the law enforcement officer's lips when Elysia mentioned there still being blueberry muffins.
"Awesome," he said joyfully.
After having them pointed out, Orion spared a few moments to finish his strawberry ice cream and the waffle cone which contained it. Once he used his coupon to get his muffin, he planned on searching the crowd for his mother and aunt.
[newclass=".carvetext"]font-family:Source Sans Pro;text-align:justify;font-size:11px;padding:15px;padding-left:20px;padding-right:20px;[/newclass][newclass=".carvecredit"]width:475px;font-size:12px;text-align:right;margin-left:5px;[/newclass]
she nodded in response. maybe she should stop asking what they liked and start asking what they don't. it was good to know that orion wasn't picky. well, it didn't sound like he was. surely he would tell her if there was something he shouldn't have. in case of an allergy or the like.
it was nice though, not having to fret over the small things. not that she wouldn't go the extra mile in case there was an allergy. she would be sure to ask if there was any allergies she should be aware of.
as soon as they reached the booth and the ice cream was delivered she browsed, taking inventory of what was left. after finishing her ice cream she stepped behind the booth and cleaned up. while her co-worker continued to consume their ice cream she grabbed a paper bag and placed the muffins inside. folding the top of the bag and handing it to him. this was it. he got his muffins and now he had to leave and she had to return back to work. it was fun while it lasted."it was good seeing you. enjoy your muffins."she told him with a smile.
