LET'S MOVE AND SETTLE ONCE A DAY,
Moonlight consumed the outskirts, a spring, evening's chill settling over the city, allowing for those associated with criminal activities to work under the cover of darkness. Stars sparkled in the dark skies above, a familiar scene for the young assassin. Around her shoulders was a cloak, the wind ruffling the dark fabric and loose clothing hiding her feminine physique. The dark colouring of her attire allowed the blue-haired woman to remain hidden in the night. Silence surrounded her, a majority of people seeking refuge in their homes, hiding from the evening affairs. The choice was sensible considering Lorsette's crime rate. On the outskirts, the crime rates were higher, criminals tending to conduct their business in the safety of the rundown slums of the city. The outskirts was the greatest place for those working their amoral occupations, thus why Persephone lived and worked in the area.
Despite the veil of safety for criminal associates, there appeared to be few signs of his presence. The search seemed endless, the demon who ruined her life proceeding to hide in the darkness. A soft sigh escaped the young nymph's lips as she observed the streets below from a flat rooftop. She remained motionless for a few moments, merely observing the world around her before turning away. The quiet sounds of her combat boots walking across the rooftop were subtle, the woman's extensive training in stealth allowing her to maintain the silence. Once she reached the edge of the roof, she peered over into the alleyway before taking a few steps back and sprinting across the rooftop. She leaped through the air, smoothly landing on the slanted, tiled roof of the neighbouring house with hardly a sound.
Silence consumed her steps, Persephone proceeding forward, allowing the wind to rustle the short hair beneath the cloak's hood. An hour prior she had completed her mission of killing a notorious gang lord causing issues in their vicinity; it had been remarkably easy. Security was low because of the man's overwhelming arrogance, thus the nymph merely swooped through the window and plunged a dagger into his throat. Due to completing the objective outstandingly quick, the assassin had taken her time returning to base, allowing herself a moment to search the man's home. There were constant hopes she would find something related to the malicious demon, but Persephone discovered no information to assist with her search for vengeance. Footsteps remained quick as the nymph hurried across the rooftops, the obscure building where the Dark Brotherhood operated eventually coming into her sight. The woman picked up the pace, reaching the edge of another roof.
Without hesitation, water burst from a large bottle secured to her waist. The tendril disappeared down into the alleyway, becoming larger to make a cushion of water. Once she reached the end, she jumped down, plunging into the manipulated water. Around her, the currents were adjusted to soften her fall, the water returning to its vessel shortly afterwards. Her feet collided with the freshly soaked pavement she created, her hand gracing the wet stone from her landing. When she rose, she paused briefly, surveying her surroundings before exiting the alleyway to meet the guards placed out front. Calmly, the blue-haired nymph approached the individuals on guard duty, her calloused hands reaching up to lower the hood. The moonlight showed her feminine facial features, a surprising beauty gracing her face, but more importantly, a recognizable one. They nodded to her, allowing Persephone to smoothly pass by them and enter the building.
Since her return to Lorsette, the nymph begrudgingly associated herself with the Dark Brotherhood; their leader was a hellspawn after all. Currently, this assassination organization was proving to be powerful, allowing it to maintain Persephone's interest, although, the promise of death should she leave accomplished similarly. Once she pushed past the threshold and entered the building, the doors were closed behind her. There were few people inside, most sitting around after completing their mission or others waiting to receive one. Briefly, Persephone's eyes wandered over them before she retreated to a solitary corner. She desired more time to merely think, furthermore, she was never a person for socialization.
