Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Silas couldn't help but slowly feel a tad bit more at ease around Nathan, having at first mistaken him for possibly being somewhat scary, he could see that he was really a friendly guy after all. Perhaps a closed book would be a much more appropriate way of describing him. He followed Nathan back towards the bulletin board before placing the mission back up. He noticed Nathan returning a mission to the board as well. He then asked which mission they should do together. "I'm still an elite." He answered, finding the phrase weird, since he had gone through a pause for a year or so. He watched as Nathan grabbed a mission from off the board. "So here is something I'm getting used to but.... if we have radios for when we spot Terrors.... why is it that we still have missions on the boards? I mean the AP make sense since we might spot them and may or may not capture them but Terrors... during my time alone I couldn't seem to avoid seeing them for long periods of times.... so surely they would be destroyed instead of making the bulletin board?" He asked, only curious for the reasoning behind the bulletin board.
The notion of joining his former mentor on a mission was delightful to Nathan, especially after the man's absence. However, mild anxieties entered the vampire, thoughts swirling and formulating a possibility which somewhat frightened him. Considering all those memories were lost during his death. There was a chance the mentor who trained him could have changed immensely because of these life experiences, making it difficult to gauge if reconnection was possible. Nonetheless, the green-haired hunter found himself praying he could re-establish a relationship with Silas. Gradually, the vampire was maturing from his needlessly sadistic state, although, Tristan was the man contributor to those changes. While occasionally there would be cracks in his behaviour and he would become extremely aggressive, hot-headed and rude to people who have wronged him, the learning experience was the most crucial. There was a small nod in response to Silas stating he was still considered an elite hunter, the vampire glad to hear the man's rank was restored. The mission he grabbed appeared to be an excellent start, especially considering the pair had not worked together in years.

The question referring to the bulletin board was responded to with a nearly inaudible hmm as Nathan glanced at his mentor.

"Well... sometimes terrors can be stupidly fucking sneaky. So mission postings here are more or less just investigations into confirmed sightings, but where the terror hasn't been killed yet. Usually, it's disguisers or something more annoying rather than lethal like pipsqueaks. Althooouuugh, sometimes you find stuff like this," Nathan answered as he gestured to the mission he was currently holding. "Either way, the scouts can lose terrors, so hunters get sent to those areas to try and sniff them out with some assistance from scouts. Basically, it is a 'focus your skills on this' kind of thing."

The explanation was lengthy, but Nathan was not bothered by thoroughly explaining the bulletin board. Under most circumstances, there were numerous flyers about recently seen Assembly members. It was filled with wanted individuals labelled under both their alias and real names (if possible).
Silas heard Nathan but remained quiet as he patiently waited for the answer. It was a tad bit surprising to hear the answer but at the same time made sense. He couldn't help but want to smack himself in the forehead for forgetting such things but now that he had heard it once more, he planned on making every effort to not forget it ever again. "Is that what I used to do?" He asked, curious since he was an elite hunter. His memories were gone, so he wasn't aware of what he used to do in the past, which was a mixture of both missions and just reporting to a radio call. If he didn't do it, somebody else would and they were at risk of being harmed, so who better then himself? He couldn't allow his fellow hunters to risk injury and he knew that he could handle it.
Danger didn't scare him, losing those around him did and he wanted this world to become a better place. His memories refused to resurface. There was also the lack of memory in taking care to mentor Nathan, not only did he give him a brotherly shoulder but he also pushed him to his best, refusing anything less. It was why Nathan was his favorite, besides finding him rather funny at times. He wanted only the best for him and had started viewing him like the brother he never had. He couldn't say how Nathan viewed him but he had felt like Nathan had filled a void in his heart when he was seeking out his sister. He was unable to remember any of this, though despite having happened a year ago, he remained terrified of his death and how his sister didn't attempt to save him when he had pleaded for it.
"I see." He answered, nodding his head in appreciation. He couldn't help but feel curious on where Umberto was at but he trusted Nathan. "Ready?" He asked, though he wasn't completely sure if he was himself.
A mission was chosen, Nathan mentally preparing for the upcoming combat situation. Excitement mixed with an overwhelming sense of giddiness over participating in a mission with his former mentor. Hints of uncertainty would occasionally enter Nathan’s mind because of Silas’ amnesia, but ultimately this opportunity to reconnect left a lingering sensation of innocent excitement. The mixture of emotions made it impossible for the vampire to maintain an air of calmness, the nervousness, joy and excitement all intermingling to create a soup of uncertainty. Silent prayers filled his mind, the green-haired hunter hoping he could regain the strong connection he held with Silas prior to the man’s demise. The brotherly aspect of their relationship assisted in filling the hollow void left in Nathan’s heart after his brother passed away. Through those darkest years, the vampire discovered support from a few people, however, he failed to move on despite it. The only person attempting to tear him down was the accursed, old fart of a lieutenant. Never did compliments escape the old man’s lips and instead incessant reticule towards himself and his deceased brother. Thus, the redhead was easily a welcoming face for the green-haired vampire after the constant insults flung by his own lieutenant. The inquiry about Silas’ occupation returned Nathan’s gaze to him.

Words were stated as Nathan nodded at his mentor? “Yeah… you also helped trained people… it would have been mostly fighting.”

The jobs of a TRS elite hunter were endless, but the primary were tracking down terrors and Assembly members were the most crucial. Villains lurked around every corner, and those affiliated with Zeredah were who the TRS fixated on. Briefly, the vampire glanced over himself, assuring he had everything he needed for their newly taken mission. Strapped to his hip was a small scabbard which firmly held his military grade Bowie Knife, the only item he truly required. The leather hilt and long blade were things he grown used to, allowing him to use the trusty weapon in a variety of ways; even for cutting into his flesh to use his blood against his foes. When asked if he was ready, Nathan merely provided a nod before standing straight and began walking down the hallway to leave the headquarters.
