Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!

Kayla watched from a rooftop as her beloved Percy turned down an alleyway headed to what she had to only think where the target was for her next job. It has been far too long since they had been together. Should she make herself present now? But that would be no fun considering Kayla herself was ruining all of the jobs Percy was getting from the group of assassins she was working for. It was their fault for taking Percy all of the time from her. And look where it got them. Kayla being abducted and going through what was done to her. Thinking about it made her angry. Enough to break what was her cute old self to spit in bad blood at the thought of what she went through.
Not too long ago they were almost a loving couple. Percy took less and less jobs to fulfill her selfish request to spend more time with her love. Until one day she was taken and brought to the very demon that took her surrogate father away. Though to be fair, Percy and her father took Kayla's real parents away to begin with. So it was only fair to have that happen to the very woman she loved to death. But still, Percy and her father treated her well despite kidnapping her in the first place. In all reality Kayla was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome because she was in love with Percy. But that didn't matter to the young girl, as she found Percy to be sexy as hell, and wanted to be with her.
For a time during her captivity with the demon, she did hate Percy for about a month because she never came to save her. But that was to be expected considering Percy has been trying to track down this maggot for a long time. But still Kayla trusted Percy so much that she thought that she would come and save her eventually. But as time passed, Kayla gave up on that hope, and did everything the damn demon wanted. Which was to turn her into damn murderer. His training and teachings were for naught though as she used the skills she had learned to escape. And swore revenge on the fucker for taking her and putting her through everything.
But first was taking down the assassin group that Percy worked for. Free her from the wicked leash she was on. If it meant freedom for her, Kayla would do just about anything for it. So much so to even make Percy hate her just to free her from the group and her family tradition. Yes during her training, the demon made her study up on all sorts of things. During that time Kayla found out that Percy came from a long line of assassins. And she wanted to break that loop and free her from the curse of her family.
Kayla moved herself quickly and quietly to another rooftop to keep eyes on her precious love as she watched her enter a building. As Kayla ran to the building and scaled it as quickly as she could, and snuck through an air-vent on the roof to enter. Kayla already knew Percy's target and would kill the fucker before she could to ruin yet another job.
As she snuck around the halls and finally to the targets place, she entered the room, being so silent, that even a mouse wouldn't hear her. As she got to the target and killed him with no mercy or even being noticed. As a couple flashes flew through her brain. Showing Percy entering the room in a couple seconds. "fast as usual." she said to herself not sure what the hell just happened or what it was that made the imagines of Percy coming through the doors in a couple seconds possible. But she didn't have time to think about it as she there was no way to leave the room without being noticed. So she had to hide, leaving the knife that was impaled into the person's neck stuck their, as she had to hide in one of the supply closest not to far from the body that was now limpless on the floor with blood still pouring out of the wound.
Chilly spring air embraced Persephone's body after she prepared for another mission, particularly a dangerous one. The anger-induced bloodlust which roamed her veins remained unquenched after the sudden disappearance of her delightful crush. People were bound to suffer when the nymph suddenly returned to her old ways, abruptly demanding any missions Ace would provide her. Inside there was vexation hidden by a facade of absolute calm and coldness, however, her assassinations failed to mask Persephone's irritated emotions. Victims were facing brutal deaths because of her water manipulation, especially hell species who were vulnerable to her specialty, holy water manipulation. There would be plenty of injuries, news reports believing her to be an unknown serial killer or a personal enemy of the individuals because of the nature in each death. Suspicions towards the cold-hearted nymph were non-existent considering she rarely took missions where there were potential personal connections RCMP could discover.
A shadow's silence graced the assassin's steps as she exited her home, wrapped in dark fabric which masked her body type alongside the significant identification shapes of her face. Covered in charcoal were her numerous blades, the shine hidden through the black dust which coated the metallic daggers. The lower section of her face was wrapped tight by a black scarf while her short strands of blue hair were tied back into a tight bun. A separate scarf was wrapped around her head, hiding her hair to avoid anybody gaining a discernable colour or styling. Loosely around her body hung an oversized shirt and a pair of simple black pants, making it difficult to notice her gender; to create further difficult, Persephone went lengths to wrap a cloth around her small breasts, making her appear akin to a petite male.
Sturdy combat edition boots were laced tightly around her feet, worn from years of carrying out her missions. In order to completely avoid suspicions about her gender, a pair of gloves were pulled over her slender hands. Afterwards, a cloak was wrapped around her shoulders, hood completely up to further create difficulties in recognizing her. Once completed, the woman had slipped out, two pouches of water secured tightly around her waist. Agilely, the nymph moved around in a stealthy manner, avoid detection as she traversed the streets, already aware her peculiar attire would warrant attention from RCMP or suspicious civilians; being followed could not be an option. Slowly, she moved, providing more time for caution opposed to recklessly rushing towards the building. Each step was planned and accomplished, the assassin avoiding being seen as she approached a large building which housed a wealthy criminal overlord; somebody who became problematic.
Recently, the man in question outed several important figureheads of the underground, which suggested he would do similarly to the assassins or the Dark Brotherhood. There was a pause as Persephone observed the location, wondering if Kayla still desired her to live the normal life; to transform into the perfect wife she desired. For a brief time, the nymph listened to her beloved, however, one the blue-haired beauty disappeared, there became no reason to play safe. Each mission suggested Persephone could potentially destroy the individual who thieved her dearest crush. While it was difficult to determine Kayla's physical state, something insisted the sweet girl was alive somewhere, however, the nymph failed to find the location. Certainly, somebody with a criminal associated stole Kayla away, suggesting that hastily taking these missions and quickly completing them could allow her to discover clues hinting to the nephilim's location.
Haste graced Persephone's steps as she closed in, carefully moving through towards the large building. A firm grasp was held on the lid of her normal water pouch, flicking open the flask to release the liquid. Smoothly, the nymph slashed into the panel, cutting the electricity and turning off the lights. While the method was not necessarily quiet, Persephone wished to search the building peacefully in case her beloved Kayla was imprisoned inside. Once completed, the nymph quickly scaled the wall, water returning to her pouch as she entered a second-story window. The assassin pulled herself through, glancing around the empty bedroom before launching into the hallways, moving both stealthily and quickly. There were several occasions of her targets were dead prior to her arrival, and the nymph was determined to win whatever twisted competition she entered. She avoided people, disposing of any guards who decided to become obstacles with a sinister ruthlessness.
Finally, the room was nearby, guards already gone as she quickly burst through the room, charcoal-covered dagger drawn and prepared for a killer throw, however, it remained unnecessary. The nymph's fist clenched tightly onto the dagger's handle as she realized her target was already disposed of, knife still impaled into the man's throat. Carefully, the assassin closed the doors behind her, displeased by the recent occurrences.
"The bastard did it again," she mumbled inaudibly to her herself.
Slowly. the assassin approached, reaching to touch the man's neck, careful to avoid blood. There was a slight widening to Persephone's grey eyes as she realized an important factor. Unlike previous incidents, warmth still clung heavily to the body, suggesting the kill to be recent. There was no hesitation as the nymph returned to the door, grabbing a long candle holder and jamming it between the handles before locking it. She saw nobody leave the room prior to her entrance, suggesting evidence of her mission ruiner potentially still being in the area, and Persephone was determined to find her. Slow steps were taken, the nymph maintaining a tight grip on her dagger while her eyes searched the room.

❧
Kayla was being very quiet when she heard the doors open to the room. She made sure to not make even peep to make sure Percy didn't know she was the one going around messing with her work. Especially since she still mostly assumes Kayla is still being held somewhere. But little does she know she is in the closet not far from the body that was still bleeding out.
Poor thing really. Doesn't even know that she is the one ruining her jobs. Kayla did feel pretty bad about it, it was the only way she made good money. And Kayla was taking that away. But the slight guilt she felt vanished once she remembered why she was doing this. It was so that she could gain more skills sneaking around and killing to hopefully one day take down that damn group that won't Percy live freely.
Kayla stayed silent as she tried to hear, hear anything to see if Percy would find her or not. Until she heard some rustling and then loud noises. Sounding like she was being locked in the room. By the way of sound at least. Sounded like something was put in between the door handles to block her escape. Well in that case there was no point in hiding now that she was locked in. Even if she did want to leave, she would have to break a window or something to be able to leave. In doing that she would be tracked down by her love. And she didn't want that to happen mostly because she feared that Percy would most likely not hesitate to see her face before killing her if she ran.
Kayla pondered for a moment on what she was going to do. But there was only one choice now. And that was to show herself. She sighed a bit as she focused for a second and vanished from the closet. And appeared in front of Percy. She could have well and doubt teleport out of the building. But what fun was that? Why be easy when you can play hard mode. When her body appeared in front of Percy, the old brown cloak she was wearing was moving around due to the teleport as her long now black hair settled on her back when she stopped moving. Her lean figure showing even more now that she had started to work out and that her white shirt and tight black pants hugged her form. As the sword on her hip shifted in it's place after the teleportation.
She looked up at Percy, her once sparkling full of life blue eyes, now clouded over in a icy hue as she smiled slightly at the sight of her love. The love she has not been close to in some time now... In front of her now, she just wanted to tackle her and give her a big smooch. Her inside turning from the excitement of seeing her again. "Hi Percy." she said shyly, not knowing what the assassin will do once seeing her. After all it has been months now since they last saw each other. Where as Percy has stayed the same except the more ice now covering her heart. Kayla has changed drastically. Not only has her light blue hair vanished, it was now a dark black, her once lean but curvy body gone, replaced by a slender, toned figure, but the biggest change is her personality. Once a bubbly, sparkling aura, now drowned in cold despair. And now this new person is now standing in front of the one person that she loves to death awaiting a response.
There was a stillness in the room, the body remaining motionless after his untimely demise. Carefully, Persephone's grey eyes flitted around the room, narrowed slightly as she searched for the slightest items out of place. While the assassin never entered the room until recently, there were sometimes instances where certain items could easily be correlated with a specific location. Either way, the objective was to scavenge the room in a desperate attempt to find the individual responsible for stealing those many kills. Money was a valuable resource and considering she proved multiple times to be a skillful assassin, it became the nymph’s common occupation. Normal jobs became rather difficult at times, especially considering a portion required working alongside people. While Persephone was not necessarily anti-social, she preferred working independently, which few jobs appeared to be offered.
The room appeared fairly normal, mostly undisturbed other than the deceased man collapsed on the floor. A soft sigh escaped Persephone's lips as she prayed the criminal failed to escape prior to her intrusion. Handling the person who ruined her missions was crucial considering income was important for her survival and completing these objectives herself allowed her to interrogate every criminal affiliate until they provided the truth. Destroying these criminals until she found her dearest Kayla was important, the nymph frightened that her beloved crush was potentially injured or placed into an uncompromising position. Every location was observed, thoroughly scrutinized by her cold, grey eyes going lengths to try and resolve where the problematic individual could potentially be hiding. Quietly, the soles of her tapped against the ruined hardwood floor as she slowly toured the room, searching for where the murderer could have hidden themself away.
Gradually, hiding places were being narrowed down, Persephone praying the individual possessed no teleportation abilities to allow for a quick and easy escape. Places to hide inside the lavish room were growing smaller, the nymph's eyes eventually locking on the wooden doors of a large closet. Before she could start hurrying in that direction, someone manifested in front of her, resulting in Persephone hastily backpedalling. The sudden action startled the assassin, but she controlled her emotions well and tightened the grip around the handle of her dagger while the other hand flicked open the flask to draw water. Quickly, the person appeared before them, a slender and lean build with dark hair and eyes. The woman's strong body was covered by a white shirt and black pants, but a brown cloak hung around her shoulders; a common piece of attire associated with criminals.
There were two notable traits which resulted in Persephone raising a brow, particularly the sword hanging from the girl's waist and furthermore, the angles of her face. The beauty of her face was familiar, yet, somewhat different which resulted in the nymph staring at the woman until she spoke. Each word was shyly spoken, the tone one she missed for many months. The grey eyes of the cold assassin widened, her body stiffening in surprise as she stared at the supposed stranger, a single name entering her mind.
"... Kayla?" She spoke the question quietly, surprise still touching her tone.
Despite her assumption, Persephone kept her mind sharp, hand tightly clenching the dagger in case she was incorrect and this individual was unfriendly. Yet, based on her intense analyzation of the woman's face, she believed she had finally discovered the woman she had been searching for.

Kayla looked at Percy. Poor thing, such a poor thing, finding out Kayla had been taken by someone, missing for a full season if not more and now to appear in front of her, a completely different person. She must be so confused and hesitant by the way she still held her dagger tight as all hell and just her body language. As she said her name, Kayla smiled a bit and nodded taking steps closer to close the distance between them. Her hands reaching up slowly to caress Percy's cheeks. "My sweet sweet Percy, I am back." she said in the sheepish tone she had carried so long ago. Her heart still fluttering whenever in the same room as her precious Percy. That will never change about the Nephilim. She loved Percy so much, that just being in the same room as the assassin still made her heart flutter even now that cold heart melting just a bit being this close to her in so long.
As she let go of the assassin and took a couple steps back towards the window that looked out over the city. As she spun around in place. "You like my new look." she said as she spun. The action making it even more prevalent of the sword strapped to her waist. And the tone of her body, the muscles that replaced her curvy form. The black hair void of any blue she once had. As she smiled brightly at Percy once she stopped spinning in place. She was just happy to be this close to her after so long.
As she looked at Percy, she brought a finger up to her bottom lip like she was thinking for a second before blurting out. "Oh yea, I am the one that killed him." pointing to the body and pool of blood surrounding the wound. "Also I killed pretty much every other person you were assigned to kill for like the past missions you had when someone beat you to the punch. That was all me." she said with an eerie chuckle.
As she turned to the window and looked out into the concrete jungle. "I will kill so much more if it is meant to be. I want you out of the shitty situation you are in. I don't want you to be an assassin anymore. You have done your job. Now it's time to quit. I will make sure of that. Even if it means killing every FUCKER in your little group." she said with anger, as she punched the window cracking it a bit. This is where her twisted personality is mostly, in her anger that she doesn't have full control over.
She turned around with a smile as she took steps towards the lifeless body. As she squatted down and looked at the poor soul that had just perished. "I was hoping by now that the brotherhood would have been fed up with you failing so much recently but I guess not. Just means I need to go after the actual members instead of the targets." as she pulled the dagger from the body and examined it for a second before standing back up and taking out a cloth and cleaning the blade.
She slid the dagger back into the sleeve of her shirt as she looked at Percy. "I will free you, then we can live happy ever after." she said with a smile as she closed the gap between them again and hugged her tightly. "I'm just glad I get to talk to you again. I love you soooooooooooo much." she softly said into Percy's ear.
Fixation was placed on the dark-haired woman Persephone believed was Kayla, surprise remaining evident in her stone-coloured eyes. Was this truthful reality, or had her enemy managed to knock her unconscious? Months had passed with the nymph’s beloved being absent from her life, the sudden appearance suggesting trickery, yet, she remained uncertain. There was something inside which hinted at the possibility of this woman truly being her beloved Kayla; the one who consistently healed her over the years. As she spoke the name, a smile appeared on the woman's face, which resulted in Persephone lowering her weapon slightly. The dark-haired woman moved closer, caressing her cheek, her words confirming the beliefs the nymph possessed. Bewilderment remained evident on the short-haired woman's face as she analyzed the peculiar new appearance Kayla procured with her abrupt return.
Silence reigned over Persephone, the assassin hesitant to provide a statement of her opinion of her crush's new appearance. The incredible curves and elegant beauty of her original appearance were replaced by the lean muscles of a fighter. Hardened, cold and prepared for battle, it reminded Persephone of the woman she constantly viewed in the mirror, yet, still having notes of difference. The changes confirmed Kayla would not remain bound inside the walls of their small home, and the sword suggested a brand new hobby. There was a slight narrowing to the nymph's eyes as they fixated on the sword secured around her beloved crush's waist. Prior, Kayla had never been a fighter and remained the person who would accomplish the crucial tasks of housework and mending the assassin's wounds. Motionless, the assassin stood, listening to her lover and feeling Kayla's soft finger brush against her lips.
Further, the nymph's eyes narrowed when the nephilim stated she was the murderer of her target. There was something wrong about the entire situation, and Persephone was uncertain about her feelings towards what was occurring. Genuinely, the assassin believed there was nothing wrong with the woman who stayed home and handled the housework, the woman who was a pleasant and kind constant in Persephone's life. Everything seemed to change radically, but there was comfort in returning to Kayla's bright face and receiving the regular healing from her beloved nephilim. Complete silent settled over the nymph as she listened, disliking the words which left the dark-haired killer's lips. Evidently, Kayla had been observing her, assassinating the targets in prayer the brotherhood would exile her; but the only escape for an assassin was death's cold embrace. Merely attacking the group would result in her being stamped a traitor and hunted down for the rest of her days.
Shortly, Persephone sheathed her own dagger, listening to Kayla's crazy ramblings about granting her freedom, however, the notion was against the assassin's wishing. The brief amount of time working an average job proved her skills were better suited for the rigorous work of murder. Years of teachers among her family confirmed her destiny to be one bathed in endless amounts of bloodshed; she walked a dangerous road being the final member of the Rose family alive. Completely abandoning the occupation she was designed to accomplish was impossible, since Persephone knew there would be that constant calling echoing in her head; calling to return. When Kayla approached to hug her, the nymph stepped back, eyes narrowed as she stared at her.
"No, you will not kill them," she stated bluntly. "I would be miserable working a normal job, Kayla! I was raised to become an assassin and as the final member of my family, I AM NOT QUITTING! If you lay a hand on the brotherhood, they will hunt us down and I will just join another assassination organization instead. Ace is a pretty understanding leader, so do you want me to end up with some cold bastard who could kill me for failure? Real jobs don't honour my skills."
Despite the pleasantness of Kayla's words as she spoke, Persephone had learned there was only one place where her excellent skills could be appreciated and honoured. Assassination allowed her to use a variety of her skills and allowed her to cling desperately to the values of her family. There was only a single member of the Rose family left, which was Persephone Rose, the girl who lost everything at a vulnerable age but kept walking alongside her father. Then when he died from the flames of a burning cottage and the hands of a tricky demon? She worked hard, determined to find the individual who murdered him, however, her attachment to her occupation soon manifested when she wavered off the darkest path. Unfortunately, destiny would always call her back, the voices of the departed reminding her to honour where she originated from, and Persephone was now determined to accomplish just that.

Kayla glanced at the assassin as she saw the daggers be put away. Now Kayla didn't need to teleport or do anything in case Percy didn't believe her words that she was in fact the bubbly person that was missing. As she then blurted out that Kayla wouldn't lay a hand on anyone in the bortherhood. Kayla just raised an eyebrow. Did she really like them that much or was she just scared to be on the run. After Percy stopped talking down to Kayla. She just shrugged putting her hands on her hip.
"Who said, you would go and join another group. I planned to go hunt down the fucker that captured me. And bring you along with me." she said with a shrug as took out a throwing knife from the pouch that was belted onto the back of her pants. She started to flip the knife in her hands to do something with them as she was a bit anxious still. She was still in front of the one person that meant the world to her. And it has been way too long since they have been together.
"After all, I remember every damn detail about him." as she kept talking describing him in pretty good detail. Like she remembers it like he was standing in front of her. Which was really odd for Kayla to do considering she used to be horrible at remembering anything. The knife still being flipped in her hands. As she finally ended with, "Also he is the one that killed dad. So." as she caught the knife one last time and threw it into the already dead body.
She looked up at Percy. "So either you join me, and I don't have to touch anyone. Or you don't and I can go teleport to the leader and mess the little shit you got going with them. After all if I leave no one alive, no one will come after us." she lastly said with a bit of a smile on her face. And it was by no means a nice one, it was more creepy than anything else due to her cold eyes.
"You don't have to decide now. But any-who, I am back, so can we either get out of here and go home, or go get something to eat. I'm starving. Killing someone always brings an appetite for some reason." she shrugged walking past Percy towards the door.
The radical differences between this presumed “new Kayla” made suspicion lurk in Persephone’s mind as she watched her. Differences between diction, demeanour and appearance were easily detected, although, were thrown into a deep pit of uncertainty. This dark-haired woman was a contrast compared to the sweet, bubbly beauty she originally fell deeply in love with. The original Kayla was the pleasant ball sunshine which she roused from slumber to see every morning; her precious constant was eliminated. Familiarity was impossible to discover in the mesh of intense differences, which left the nymph perplexed by her feelings. When she began searching for Kayla, the assassin thought solely on the stupendous woman she was fortunate to have touched her life.
Now she appeared rather sadistic and murderous, a cold husk of her former warmth which failed to touch Persephone’s heart the way it once did. At the mere mentioning of Kayla's captor, a hint of interest sparkled in the nymph's eyes as she immediately became curious about the individual who decided to transform her precious lover. Hastily, determination filled the assassin as she was mentally prepared for the notion of destroying the individual who radically transformed Kayla. The dark-haired woman was originally the beautiful girl who filled her dark, grim life with light, and now somebody managed to absolutely ruin it entirely. Believing this woman was truthfully the one she lost was difficult, yet, something inside proceeded to insist on this being the woman she fell in love with. Gradually, Kayla decided to speak about the description of the mysterious man who brought forth these changes, and Persephone listened with open ears. The instant Kayla began providing a physical description of the man, the nymph's eyes widened broadly.
There was nobody else who suited the appearance, the assassin being dragged into the depths of her abhorrent memories. The fire, the screaming, the fighting and the bloodshed. The evening her father died was a tender memory, one which resulted in Persephone clenching her fist while her eyes narrowed. Even as her beloved Kayla proceeded, the nymph remained quiet, ignoring the words as anger flowed heavily through her veins. The demonic bastard has continued to take the final consistently Persephone found in her life; the sunlight which provided her with joy. Years of searching, each day occurring with a severe lust for destroying the individual who took everything from her.
"YOU ARE NOT GOING AFTER HIM! I'M GOING ALONE TO KILL THAT BASTARD AND THAT IS FINAL!" The words left Persephone's voice in an angry yell.
Vengeance was something which fueled Persephone's determination, the young nymph knowing thoroughly she needed to be the one who murdered that demon. First, the man stole her father's life and later altered Kayla beyond recognition. There was a subtle burning sensation on her scars from the memory, nothing particularly painful, but a sensation manifested from remembering those memories. The nymph desired to singlehandedly take the individual's life to avoid anybody else getting hurt and finally have her hands on the sweet fruit of revenge.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Kayla turned around to Percy when the anger filled yell echoed through the room. Kayla just tilting her head a bit in confusion. She understood why she would be angry, probably more so than she ever has been. Now that she knew who took Kayla. She took a step back into the room and leaned on a wall crossing her feet and then crossing her arms. "You can't stop me when I tag along. You can have the kill, I don't really care. As long as that bastard suffers." she paused as she looked at the fist that Percy was holding tight. She sighed and walked over to her, reaching out and grabbing her hand. Kayla moved held onto Percy's hand as she looked into those cold eyes of Percy's.
"But he was my dad too for all intense of purpose. Granted not related by blood. But you guys cared for me and eventually loved me...I hope." she trailed off, as she cleared her throat. "So I have a say in this too. And I am going with you." she said as she looked at Percy, her cold face melting a bit into her old self, the blue eyes returning just a bit as she looked at Percy with those puppy eyes like she used to so long ago.
"Now lets go get some dinner, I'll pay." she said with a smile as she looked at Percy, now trying to return her cool headed mind back to that level. As she kept holding onto her hand making sure Percy came back to her. After all this time she didn't want to loose her love to anger. That comes when they kill that damn demon. But for now, she wanted her awkward assassin back. Well awkward in the sense of not knowing what Kayla wanted half the time and in the fact of just being herself. Which was socially a bit awkward. Which is fair considering she kills people.
"So what do you say, let's get out of here and grab some dinner. Or something. As long as with I am with." she said, a bit of a blush taking over her face. Hints of the old Kayla still around, she was not completely lost to her now distorted looks or personality.
Anger was an unstoppable force which roamed through Persephone's veins at the mere mention of the heartless bastard who murdered her beloved father. Hell species were despicable creatures, a vast majority of them constantly thieving the happiness in the assassin's life, making very few reputable in her opinion. They were monsters who destructively burned anybody who even slightly hindered them or even went lengths to eradicate entire homes to exterminate those they disliked. Years ago, she wished for retribution for her fallen family, however, when she and her father began travelling, she became attached to her only parental figure. There was nobody else who raised her, forging her into the person she became through the experiences he introduced her to. They had travelled together for years, seeing the diversity of the world.
Each step of their journey was paved with happy memories, until the day everything went up in literal smoke. The fire consumed him, similar to how it destroyed her entire childhood in a single, nasty blaze. The notion of Kayla attempting to tag along made Persephone clench her fists, the anger easily consuming her; she loathed that demon. The sense of loathing and anger conquered her mind, dulling her senses until she felt Kayla's hand grab her's. Immediately, the nymph's stony eyes flitted towards the dark-haired woman, a slight calm entering her body as a long sigh escaped Persephone's throat.
"Fine... you can come, but I want you to wait outside... You can only come in if I need help," Persephone mumbled. "Otherwise, you stay out... That bastard will suffer, and you know that."
Holy water could easily manifest pain and suffering for demons considering how it burnt their flesh and made healing impossible, thus Persephone was aware her manipulation alone could grant her a special type of revenge. The demon who stole her father from her would suffer the intense pain of having holy water burn his flesh until he finally met his demise. The mention of dinner resulted in a soft sigh escaping the nymph's lips before she slowly nodded.
"Fine... but don't we have to sneak out first?" Persephone asked.
There was a pause as the assassin walked towards the large window, knowing thoroughly a majority of the guards would be inside the building, searching for them. They knew intruders were inside, the nymph imagining a different radio system being used to allow all guards to be aware there were intruders on the grounds. If the assassin were to guess, they would be attempting to bust into the room any second now; fortunately, the large candal stick remained jammed in the handled.

Kayla looked at Percy when she said she could come but wouldn't get the chance to deal out some pain for what he did to her. Which she thought it was unfair. She held her tongue as Percy was already mad enough, and the fact that Kayla herself felt like a different person didn't help the situation. So instead of saying anything, she just nodded in the fear that Percy might attack her considering the demon played around with the really the only thing Percy had left that brought her joy. So she just nodded as she kept holding onto her hand trying to release some of that anger that building inside her love.
When she finally calmed down a bit and said fine to the offer of dinner, Kayla smiled a bit as she walked with Percy to the window as she said they had to sneak out of here first. Kayla tilted her head to the side a bit. "That's easy." was all she said as in a matter of seconds they were atop of the building. Kayla had teleported them out of the room to the roof the building. Since being changed, her abilities have improved significantly. Where the one and only skilled she had mastered was her healing due to healing Percy and her father all the time, was now, not the only skill she had mastered. Teleportation, her wing manifestation even stronger, to the point she could have them out all day, can break medium curses now too. All together she is much more dangerous now that her skills were honed and trained.
As they overlooked the artificial lit city, she just snuggled up to Percy. "Im just glad to be back with you." she said leaning her head on her shoulder. The old Kayla would have been waaaaay to shy to ever do something like she was doing. The old Kayla never wanting to make Percy mad or feel unconformable, but now she just didn't care, it was far too long since she was able to see or even touch Percy, it was like a dream to her. As a gust of wind picked up and started to blow past them, Kayla just shoved her face into the side of Percy to stay warm from the cool wind.
After a moment of just standing there Kayla left Percy's side and took out a couple wallets that were not hers and started to shuffle through them, taking out the money they did have in there and shoving it into her pocket, as she tossed the wallets off the roof. She turned back to Percy, "So any request for food?" she asked as she looked at Percy. "We can get there in a jiffy." she added with a chuckle from her own lame joke cause she can teleport.
Everything about the cruel demon who snuffed out the life of her father resulted in anger transcending over Persephone, especially considering the man himself returned to wreak mayhem on her life a second time. There were moments she wondered in the demonic individual was aware she survived the encounter and smoothly fooled the paramedics, doctors and RCMP into believing she was abducted. Dislodging her weapons and throwing them amidst the blaze alongside undressing from her work clothing had been a difficult task, but nonetheless a clever move to escape prosecution from law enforcement. Confirmation could not be provided until she finally met the despicable devil himself, but Persephone already knew she was prepared to torture and murder him for inflicting this emotional pain on her life. Nobody deserved to live for harming her family, Kayla being included in the grouping.
Demons, they only ever created pain and misery for those they contacted, and Persephone was certain of the fact. The villainous creatures merely thieved things from people, lives included. Eventually, she calmed slightly, although, she remained irritated as thoughts of the demon overwhelmed her mind. Fortunately, Kayla agreed that once the time of vengeance arrived, she would stay outside instead of entering the battlefield where she would finally dispose of the dastardly man. When Kayla mentioned escape being easy, the nymph raised a brow until she surprised by a brief white light until they suddenly appeared on the roof. Immediately, she glanced around, surveying the area to assure there was no peril around them, the tough nymph remaining not bothered by the change in temperature. A slight blush touched her face as Kayla spoke, leaning against her shoulder; an unexpected move from the originally shy girl. Quickly, the assassin's eyes flitted towards her, confusion evident as she stared at the dark-haired woman.
A gust of wind embraced them, Kayla hiding her face in Persephone's side, which resulted in the blush increasing slightly from the sudden action. These were a far cry from the original actions and behaviours of her precious healer, and the short-haired woman was concerned about how much was altered. When her crushed moved away, the nymph watched with her stone-coloured eyes, the redness promptly fading as Kayla grabbed a pair of wallets and procured the cash from them. The food requests were answered with a shrug, Persephone becoming completely uncertain what she was hungry for. The intense anger ruined her appetite, making it difficult for her to provide an answer.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Kayla looked back at Percy as she asked where she wanted to eat but it was answered with a shrug. Kayla looked at her and with a shrug of her own. She assumed she wasn't hungry at all considering her answer. As Kayla thought about it, she was probably too angry or something. Kayla shrugged a second time. As she vanished from sight. She teleported to food stand down below on the streets. Grabbed a meat skewer then teleported back to her beloved Percy. As she took a bite. She looked at Percy. "Well do you wanna go kill some people. There are a couple gang hideouts I find not too long ago. Get some of that anger out." she said with her mouth full as she was devouring the couple of skewers she had in seconds.
As she finished the two, she used one of the sticks to pry some of the food from her teeth before dropping the wooden sticks. As she walked over to Percy. "Ooooor we can do some other things." she said as she ran a finger down Percy's upper body. "I hear it relieves a lot of stress and anger." she continued with a bit of a sly smile.
As she stopped and took a step back. "Or I could leave considering I am getting a bit of a odd feel from you. I have changed quite bit. But I am the Kayla that lived with you for years. So if you want to be left alone to process this new me. Then I can." she said with a shrug as she looked Percy straigt into her icy eyes. "Cause I'm not changing back to how I was. I like being like this. I am so much more free, I don't have to rely on you for everything, aaaand I can take of myself now too." she said with a bit of a chuckle.
"Pluuuuuus I never knew how much fun killing can be." she added. "I don't know why you or dad never taught me any fighting skills or something. With my healing skills, and killing skills we would have been unstoppable. Maybe dad wouldn't have had to die." she said without a sense of remorse. In a tone almost like she was blaming Percy and her father for not teaching her anything, and that being the reason he died. "I mean like shit, you killed my good for nothing parents. Least you guys could have done was show me how to kill." she finally shrugged as she just stared at Percy. Her cold eyes settling on the Nymph.
Exposing the fact that Kayla had known for years that they had killed her parents. But there wasn't a sense of hatred or anything coming from Kayla. In fact there was nothing. Usually you can feel or get an aura off of a person who was feeling some type of way. But there was just nothing from the dark haired woman.
A mixture of upset emotions followed by unquenchable anger surrounded Persephone, the young woman refusing to accept the fate bestowed upon her. Ultimately, this dark-haired mistress was not the Kayla she grew to secretly admire, and instead appeared to had transformed into a monster; somebody willing to thieve the lives of others. Hunger never crossed the nymph's mind, her bitter emotions towards these sudden changes capturing her mind. Throughout the assassin's life, consistency was minor, their frequent travelling being enjoyable but damaging. From the beginning of the constant moving, Persephone's father became the only familiar face, eventually followed by Kayla. Unfortunately, everything changed radically it appeared, the nymph lacking the comfortable embrace of a constant; she despised these changes. What the short-haired woman required was stability, but the demon stole the balanced life she acquired.
Silence reigned when the nephilim returned, Persephone bringing her knees towards her chest. The mixture of anger and sorrow was hidden beneath her cold expression, the young woman unable to focus on food. Then, Kayla spoke about senselessly killing people without being provided with the proper mission. Immediately, the short-haired woman's fists clenched hard, nails digging into the calloused palm. The short woman kept herself silent, squirming away when Kayla traced her finger down her body. Inside, the anger built, proceeding to carelessly speak, and eventually, the assassin snapped. The accusation of her father's death being her fault was a sensitive topic, the blue-haired woman rising and backing away, eyes narrowed at Kayla. The allegations of their crimes being accomplished for nothing and implications towards her father's death being partially her mistake resulted in her blood boiling.
"WELL YOU KNOW WHAT?! I HATE THE NEW KAYLA!" Persephone screamed at the dark-haired woman, anger overflowing. "ALL SHE DOES IS TELL ME KILLING IS FUN AND MOCK WHAT I DO! I KILL TO SURVIVE! IT'S MY JOB, I DON'T DO IT BECAUSE IT IS FUN OR RECREATIONAL! I DO IT BECAUSE I WAS TRAINED TO! SO FUCK THAT! I AM NOT GOING TO RANDOMLY KILL PEOPLE UNLESS CONTRACTED TO AND I AM NOT STAYING HERE TO LISTEN TO YOU TALK SHIT ABOUT WHAT I DO AND WHAT HAPPENED TO MY DAD! I'M GOING HOME, YOU GO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT!"
Without another word, Persephone turned away, blood boiling as she smoothly ran across the rooftop, promptly jumping across the gaps between the building. Emotions were harmed by the senseless allegations, the young nymph knowing a life of assassination was the only thing she and her father were familiar. Dragging others into the dangerous lifestyle was not their intentions, they merely wished to survive in this twisted world. The slightest hint of tears touched Persephone's eyes as she smoothly moved through the city, the young nymph becoming upset from the recent developments and callous implications. Few things managed to hurt the young assassin emotionally, however, the slightest hint of the blame for getting her father killed brought an intense ache to the woman's heart. Things were changing too fast and everything felt beyond her control and for once, she felt absolutely alone. Her father was murdered viciously by a demon and Kayla changed radically enough for there to be no distinguishing her from the sweet, kind girl she loved.
Everything was hurting, the emotional toll becoming a burden for the young woman. For a moment she slowed, sniffling and wiping the few tears from her eyes. To her left, the long stretch of Starlight Beach and the pleasant view of light playing across the waves. Slowly, she walked towards the waves, dipping into the cold waters, goosebumps covering her skin as she shivered from the cold. Despite the temperature, the young nymph walked deeper into the water before she strongly swam down the coastline before finding an isolated location. She dragged herself onto rocky cropping, finding a location where the rocks her smooth from the consistent battering of waves. The nymph sat, knees returning to her chest as she listened to the calming sounds of waves and soft sounds of her sniffling. This night was simply horrible.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Kayla looked at Percy as she snapped. Kayla's eyes narrowed at the assassin as she yelled out saying how she hated the new Kayla. And went on, even swearing. Which was rare for the Nymph, at least when she was home with Kayla she never swore. So Kayla was a bit taken back by her anger, angry enough to swear. As she bolted off Kayla stuck out her hand to say wait but then caught her tongue. Maybe she was right? Was she too different now to even have a relationship with the only person she has ever loved.
Kayla sighed a bit watching Percy vanish into the distance. Not deciding to chase after her. She doubted Percy wanted to talk or even see Kayla right now. She looked at the distance lights of the city, feeling the cold wind push against her as she stood there for a moment thinking of what to do. She had no place to stay at the moment. "Guess it is another night at some shitty motel or under a bridge somewhere." she shrugged as she walked towards the edge of the building she was still on looking over to how high she was.
She took a step up on the ledge and feeling the wind still blowing. As in a moment she was now standing in front of her old house, the house Percy still lived in. As she took another step she was in the kitchen in the back of the house, where Percy usually entered, barely going through the front door. As she looked around for a notepad and a pen or pencil. She finally found one, writing a note for her dear Percy.
"Dear my love,
I am truly sorry you do not like the new me. I had to do what I needed to survive the hell hole that demon put me through. But that is no excuse with the way I acted. I honestly thought you would like the new me. You know taking care of myself and all that instead of relying on you. Because sometimes it seemed I would annoy you whenever I whined about something. That cold face of yours is sometimes hard to pick up on what you are thinking sometimes you know that right? Just kidding, you are perfect.
But anyway, I will leave you be if you so wish. I wont bother you anymore or set foot in front of you anymore since you hate me now. I do hope you find happiness, with how protective you were over me. I bet who ever you meet in the future would love you, just work on that face of yours and learn to smile for once like jeez.
I might go somewhere far away where you wont have to see my face anymore, but just know I will always love you. No matter what.
Love Kayla.
P.S: You can burn my diary, or read it, doesn't bother me. it is up to you."
The letter read as she grabbed her diary from the hiding spot in her room and put it next to the note. As she cleared out her stuff. Her clothes, books, everything. She took it to a barrel out back and lit everything on fire and watched it burn. Kayla was truly done being the weak and unreliable kid she once was. She watched the flames grow for a moment as everything from her old life burned away. Now all that was on her mind was revenge on the fucker that turned her into this monster. As she turned around and vanished.
Her diary had mostly things written about Percy, what they did this day and what they did that day. What Percy wore etc.. her diary was all about Percy pretty much. But at the very last page of the small book there was a page written for Percy.
"I know what you and your father did when you picked me up all those years ago. I know my parents were not all that good. And to be honest, I can see why someone wanted them dead. But I never blamed you or your father. You were nicer to me than they ever were. I was more or less a thorn in their side. Probably why I was raised by a nanny than my own parents. And I know you two kept it a secret from me. But I knew the moment I came home that night. So thank you, for caring for me like a big sister, I just wish your father was here to say thank you and that he was a real father to me than mine ever was. That is why I loved you both."
The last couple of pages of her diary went on with the same theme, thanking Percy and her father for everything they did for her. Teaching her how to use her abilities and what not. And how she was heartbroken when Percy came home that night saying how her father died. Percy should know that considering Kayla cried all night after finding that out. But Kayla loved the both of them, it wasn't Stockholm syndrome or anything. Both Percy and her father were better for her than her real parents, and Kayla came to love them as a real family.
