Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.

[attr="class","kingsBody"]
Spring only recently arrived in Lorsette, causing the weather to gradually become warmer. Despite the recent arrival of improved weather, snow still littered the ground in shallow clumps. The afternoon was pleasantly cloudless, a fortunate gift provided by mother nature. Sunlight was allowed to pour over the land, creating warmth for the creatures bellowed. There remained a subtle chill in the air, but the increasing degrees still resulted in a broad smile touching Arlo's face. When he finally woke from his slumber, the hellhound hastily stuffed his face with breakfast before grabbing a sweater and coat.
[break][break]
Quickly, the dark-haired man shoved his cellphone into the depths of his jacket, refusing to be completely disconnected from his boyfriend, Nicholas. Years were spent attempting to discover the perfect boyfriend, thus Arlo hoped he found an incredible individual who could provide his desires. Admittedly, the hellhound had fantasized over finding an excellent boyfriend, praying for the day to arrive where there could be mutually shared affection between him and another individual; for something that felt undying.
[break][break]
Exiting through the threshold of Norwood Manor was marvellous, fresh air surrounding Arlo as he took a deep breath. A chill remained, the breath was oddly calming as thoughts of a slowly arriving summon entered the hellhound's mind. Winter was a bitter time for his species, the young man frequently risking the possibility of sickness because of the frigid temperatures. Spring and summer were truthfully the seasons which made Arlo extremely happy, the warm temperatures fueling the dark-haired man with incredible power; the heat made his abilities stronger.
[break][break]
Gleefully, Arlo skipped down the sidewalks, enjoying the weather improvements as he gradually headed in the direction of the wilderness. When the snow began melting, life would slowly return to the wilderness, providing a surreal vibe of animals waking from the cold temperatures. While there could be dangers with wild animals rousing from their winter's rest, hungry from several months of sleep, the hellhound maintained a carefree expression. The capabilities of his shifted form could easily allow him to avoid peril; shifted, he was faster and stronger than most animals.
[break][break]
In emergency situations, there was his easily accessed fire manipulation which could easily frighten away any predators attempting to do him harm. Curiosity remained in his mind as Arlo approached the edge of the forest, wondering if there were wolves close to the city boundaries. Discovering a potential playmate would be interesting, albeit, unlikely considering he would be a foreign wolf attempting to play. However, the dark-haired man could still be hopeful that he could be blessed with luck. Extreme consequences were improbable considering Arlo could easily intimidate or escape the impending threat.
[break][break]
A few steps were taken into the forest before the hellhound got down on his hands and knees, allowing his body to transform. Gradually, his clothing disappeared into thick, black fur which covered his animal form; a small black-furred wolf with bright red eyes. The cellphone would have disappeared temporarily, it was provided with a special charmed to make it return once he shifted back into his human form. After transforming into his wolf form, Arlo trotted through the trees, gradually exploring the wilderness which was littered with snow.
[break][break]
Patches were evident, revealing the grass beneath the blanket of white. The hellhound's steps sped up, thoughts fixating on the possibility of Wanderer's Meadow being mostly melted of snow. The location was consistently covered in warm sunlight, potentially allowing for a quicker melting of snow. The mere trotting became a run as Arlo rushed through the trees, soon bursting from the treeline and into the large expanse of open land. There were shallow patches of snow, but a majority of the grass was revealed. Slowly, Arlo ventured forward, eyes glancing around curiously as he explored the meadow.
[break][break]
Puddles were everywhere, some frozen over, the hellhound's ears pricking as his mouth opened, a tongue lulling out to the side as he panted, slightly tired from the running. Rather than drink from the gatherings of water, Arlo childishly sprinted forward, stopping at the edge where he carefully placed a paw on it. The subtle cracking of ice was enjoyable for the young man as he tested the ice, paying little mind to his surroundings. These types of small activities were things Arlo enjoyed; they were nostalgic from childhoods spent hurrying outside in rubber boots to try and crossed frozen puddles. The tasks were tedious but enjoyable in failure or success.
[attr="class","kingsLyrics"]and bury them with a smile
Beneath the roots of a large barren tree resided a golden wolf, curled in a tight ball, with barely a visible breath leaving him. The tree was slightly bent over and its roots had been exposed creating a shallow cavern for the most basic shelter. The large beast appeared as though he had been sleeping the night away, but in reality, he had only just begun sleeping now. He had been traveling for days and only moved at night where he could leave as little trace as possible. But even as he lay there exhausted and resting...he never truly let himself fall into a deep slumber. It was too dangerous, not only because he was within the wild, but there were other magicals to be weary of. And then there was Erikur, the true threat...the one who still hadn't given up his chase even after two years.[break][break]
Josuah's tired eyes opened slowly as he peered past the roots of the tree he resided under and out into the melting snow. The land was waking and would soon come alive. It was ironic that he was an animal now and yet still he found a way to separate himself from nature. For when the land was quite and unconscious was when he choose to move... His gaze shifted, focusing on the murky color of the roots that came from a tree still clinging to life. Even after being torn from the ground by no doubt a ferocious storm...the tree still clung to its existence. They certainly were one in the same...slowly his eyes closed and for a time he was able to rest. But the sound and scent of an approaching threat caused his eyes to open.[break][break]
A deep growl echoed from beneath the tree, a warning to all that he would not be disturbed. But even that was not always heeded especially when dealing with other animals. Josuah was hardly in the mood for company, but he would have to deal with the situation regardless of his feelings. In the wild there was no room for anything but the task at hand...survival was all that existed in the animal kingdom.[break][break]
A young male wolf had been merely prowling the area, its tail was low and mouth gaped open taking in the scents along the surrounding land. His growl had stopped the creatures approach briefly, but after a moment it began forward again with a caution. Josuah wasted no time rising and actually charging from his den towards the lone wolf, he bore his fangs and full height with no hesitation and sent the creature scampering away. He watched as the male wolf paused glancing back at him for a time before finally taking off.[break][break]
Josuah exhaled mutely, but didn't move from where he stood. Although his familiar was a wolf he held no relation to the actual animal. Wolves were prized within the human world, but Josuah held no care for the creatures. To him they were nothing more than heartless animals who were capable of ripping apart their own brethren just to fill their bellies. But that was no different than bears or any other wild animal he had encountered.[break][break]
His large ears jerked sideways when he caught the sound of snow slipping from one of the branches above him, but he was too slow to move and half of the wet slush caught the side of his face. As one would imagine...Josuah was hardly amused as he shook the snow from his coat and glared up at the source of his attacker. But his annoyance was brief and he would have went back to sleep had a new interruption not surfaced. It wasn't unusual to encounter multiple disturbances and complaining about it would bring him no closer to sleep. So, instead he turned to watch the lone black wolf as the creature pranced around as though he were nothing more than a domestic dog.[break][break]
His emerald gaze narrowed darkly, as he lifted his nose and inhaled carefully. There was the scent of a human surrounding the black wolf and so there was a possibility that it wasn't a wild creature but magical. There were several different species that could masquerade as an animal and that meant he always had to be on edge even in the wild. He wasn't so willing to give up his resting place, and so he waited, sitting perched before his tree as the animal focused in on playing with a puddle. It was far too relaxed to be a wolf...so the likelihood of it being wild was dwindling way.[break][break]
'Perfect...' he thought to himself begrudgingly.[break][break]

Cautiously, Arlo inched his way onto the puddle, attempting to avoid cracking the ice beneath. Ears were pricked high, although, they were not fixated on danger, but rather the subtle sounds of ice cracking beneath his paws. There were creaks and whines from the ice as the hellhound inched further across the puddle. Eventually, bright white cracks contrast against the dull greys of the puddles, making it evident the ice was breaking from his weight. Years had passed since Arlo had weighed light enough to smoothly cross puddles without leaving a single crack.
[break][break]
Gradually, Arlo's steps managed to break through the thin ice covering of the puddle, his paws dipping into the cold depths. Briefly, the hellhound's ears folded back, head drooping in defeat as he trotted forward. There were times he wished he could return to his childhood, however, becoming youthful again would only make his favourite hobby difficult. Few boys would be interested in a child, and those who enjoyed the inappropriate company of a child were disgusting and unattractive. Flirting was simply Arlo's favoured activity, especially with his innocent boyfriend who blushed at those compliments.
[break][break]
There was something charming about witnessing Nicholas' face turn a deep red hue, thus the hellhound refused to accomplish anything which could become potentially detrimental to his current relationship. A few slow steps were taken before the wind embraced Arlo's pelt, the criminal's tongue lulling out and ears pricked as leaves caught the wind. Immediately, he gambolled afterwards, gleefully scurrying across the wanderer's meadow, similar to a mere dog. Jovially, he moved, liveliness in his actions as he quickly followed the leaves, although, did not invoke his enhanced speed.
[break][break]
Evidently, the dark-furred wolf provided little care to the dangers of the wilderness while enjoying his pleasurable run. Adventure and enjoyment filled the air around him, Arlo feeling as though he waited decades to finally escape his room for the gradual increasing heat of spring. The hellhound found winter gloomy, boring and extremely cold, making it unpleasurable for him; the only enjoyment was packing snow together to throw at Phoenix! Pawsteps began leading Arlo towards the edge of the forest, eyes widening as he caught the scent of wolf lingering on the air.
[break][break]
Immediately, the motion was halted as Arlo's ears pricked and he closed his mouth, lifting his muzzle to sniff the surrounding air. There were the subtle sounds of wind quietly rustling the trees alongside the nearly inaudible noise of forest life. The slightest rustles of the underbrush in the distance and the cawing of crows who stuck through the miserable winter. Carefully, the hellhound's red eyes scanned the treeline bordering wanderer's meadow before stopping to stare. On the forest edge sat another wolf with a pelt of impressive golden fur, a rather beautiful and stunning trait.
[break][break]
A brief paused occurred as Arlo hastily assessed the situation before allowing his tongue to happily lull out, footsteps carrying him towards the fellow wolf. Gleeful yips escaped the hellhound's steps as he hurried forward without hesitation, making it evident. The lack of wariness or concerned over being potentially bitten or growled came naturally to Arlo. The young criminal survived enemies using abilities against him or firearms against him, thus the possibly angry actions of a territorial wolf were not worrying.
[break][break]
Escape, should it be necessary, could be easily obtained through invoking abilities against the strange wolf. While Arlo would attempt to avoid critically harming the poor creature, he could not simply allow death to arrive at the paws of a meagre wolf; that would be a pathetic end for a capable hitman. There were hopes the golden wolf would recognize his desire to play instead of fight. The hellhound merely wished to wrestle and play fight considering how relaxing to became to cut loose and pretend to be a full-blown wolf rather than a young adult.
[break][break]
These moments were an excellent stress reliever, Arlo finding it easier to maintain his cheerful expressions through gaining the opportunity to forget about the daily problems in life.
[attr="class","kingsLyrics"]and bury them with a smile
Josuah's ears curved to the side as the wind rustled the stickily branches above him as it moved through the land beyond. Winter was coming to an end and it was both a blessing and curse in disguise. The chilly season was one of the worst to survive in, but he could rely on the coverage of snow to hide his tracks from Erikur's men. So in reality he couldn't truly feel relief even when spring was on the verge of blossoming.[break][break]
A distant sound of cawing caused his gaze to lift and there was something ominous about the black birds taking flight as though something had spooked them. But his attention returned to the black wolf from before when he spotted the creature actually bounding after him. Large black paws sunk into the snow with a crunch as he padded over, tail wagging, tongue extended and eyes that gleamed with unawareness.[break][break]
The male wolf's carefree nature was unnatural within the animal kingdom and instantly left Josuah with the feeling that he was dealing with a fake wolf. His jaw tightened as his shoulders tensed and he became quite fixated on the other creature. Magicals were dangerous...very dangerous because their abilities could be unpredictable depending on their species. He was reluctant to leave his den because finding another one wouldn't be easy, but he couldn't stay there not with the potential of a magical.[break][break]
It seemed like such a small thing...a place to sleep, but to him it was something important. Everything gained and lost within the wild meant something...and truthfully having to wander and search for a new resting place was something that effected him. His gaze narrowed on the beast approaching him and he finally lifted himself from his sitting position to run away.[break][break]
However, before he was able move the sudden eerie sound of a wolf howling nearby drew his gaze away. Within the distance he caught sight of it...another black wolf and then another and with each one more howling echoed in the distance. He clenched his jaw tightly together as the very reality of what he was seeing came into fruition. The wolf he had scared off before had returned with his pack...and both he and this fake animal were soon to be their targets.[break][break]
His fur bristled up as he flexed his nails and bore his teeth with no choice but to face his opponents. He could run but that would only give them the opportunity to attack him. He hated getting caught up in such fights, but there was little to be done. He could only hope that perhaps the black wolf who had been so casual would set his eyes on the ten different wolves coming to surround them.[break][break]

A cold wind ruffled Arlo's black fur as he gleefully ran towards the golden coloured wolf, a series of cheerful yips leaving his mouth. The hasty gambolling over towards the other wolf, desperately hoping there would be playful fun in the entire action. Wrestling with another wolf could easily become a manner to release stress and spark immense emotions of joy; there were numerous moments when he would wrestle with his boyfriends. The activity was exhilarating, although, more romantic considering the close proximity featured between himself and his partner.
[break][break]
There was a certain intimacy in those moments, but Arlo planned for this to be harmless playing; merely an enjoyable time of relaxation and exercise. In the distance, crows cawed, wings flapping as they flew overhead, hiding in the trees beyond. A stillness breached the area, suggesting potential danger in the immediate area, however, the hellhound displayed a careless to the natural signs of impending danger. There remained an uncharacteristic wag to Arlo's tail, something wolves never did consider their feral nature.
[break][break]
While Arlo approached the golden wolf, he remained unbeknownst to the awareness and consciousness the wolf possessed; clueless to the human inside the wolven form. Everything the golden coloured wolf did was similar to the feral creatures, the scent is exactly like a regular wolf, albeit, with a minor difference which provided recognition. Despite the tense body language of the mysterious wolf, Arlo proceeded forward, paws carrying him forward. The narrowed gaze and standing position was not daunting to the criminal as he gleefully kept yipping and displaying signs of friendliness.
[break][break]
Suddenly, a lone, menacing howl echoed through the still, cold air which resulted in the hellhound stopping dead in his tracks. There was always something eerie about the drawn-out howling from a wolf's call which always surprised Arlo, especially considering his delicate ears easily detected the call was not friendly. Immediately, the criminal's tongue returned to his mouth as he glanced back towards the pack of wolves. Through the steam manifested from his breath, he saw them on the distant hills, gathering into a formation.
[break][break]
Based on the context of the scenario and their drawn back lips which revealed rows of sharp teeth, Arlo managed to detect there was tension between those wolves and the golden one preparing a battle stance. A friendly morning of potential playtime suddenly turned sinister as the gravity of the situation settled comfortably on the criminal's shoulders. A courageous expression breached Arlo's face, the hellhound's eyes narrowing as he realized escape was simply ridiculous. They were outnumbered, making it easier for the opposition to construct ambushes and potentially kill them.
[break][break]
Despite searching for a playmate, the criminal knew to risk injury to be an idiotic idea, thus he took a few slow steps forward. Falsely, he believed the entire situation merely involved regular wolves who would all be easily frightened away by the trick up the dark-furred wolf's sleeve. There was no hesitation as Arlo smoothly invoked the flames, creating a miniature fire which encompassed his form. The fire clung to his body, although, refused to burn his fur as it licked the sky. The grass beneath turned black in the small circle which Arlo stood, but he made certain the flames would not stretch and consume the field.
[break][break]
The small, black wolf lowered himself to the ground, growling at the opposition and menacingly barking at them, praying they would merely turn tail and leave. While Arlo was a cheerful killer among people, he preferred to avoid needlessly torturing animals. People could accomplish horrible things and make people feel unwanted like the maid once did, while animals merely tried to survive. Against the dull colours of spring only beginning to break, Arlo's flames appeared brilliant, popping against the environment.
[attr="class","kingsLyrics"]and bury them with a smile
Josuah's emerald gaze narrowed as he parted his lips and drew in the scent of the creatures before him. All of them were younger males and very well able-bodied, but there was one in particular that stood out. A gray wolf among them that reeked of blood, the smell was so deep that it had become one with his fur. No amount of water or snow could rid the creature of such a toxic taste.[break][break]
The large golden wolf backed away to allow the hollow of the tree behind him to provide him with more protection. He could bring out his shield easily but he was always hesitant to do so...because it was extremely powerful...and one of the quickest ways for Erikur's men to track him.[break][break]
Fortunately, the one who was so eager to play with him turned to the oncoming wolves and revealed his power without hesitation. Fire surged around him, weaving perfectly in and out of his fur without damaging him and Josuah found himself taking in the flames. The color of fire was always reminiscence of autumn to him, a season he held a fondness for and it wasn't often he could see the beautiful colors.[break][break]
An unpleasant feeling entered his heart and caused him to draw his attention back towards the wolves. He didn't like to feel attached to things because they left room for longing...and he had enough of that hiding inside of his soul.[break][break]
The stranger was careful with his flames despite the wet puddles and snow surrounding them. The black wolf was not quick to set fire to the waking forest and neither did he set flames to pack descending upon them. But there was no need to because the fire was making the wolves hesitate and soon they began to skid to a halt. Josuah used this opportunity to charge at one of the stray wolves that awkwardly kept coming despite the danger.[break][break]
He snarled viciously and lowered down to snap at the legs of the wolf. But he didn't bite them and his size and force was enough to make the creature run off. Everything seemed to be working in their favor, but the gray wolf from before kept coming even as his comrades fled. Josuah readied himself to do the same as he had just done, but before he could the gray wolf started to slow and actually changed into a human.[break][break]
"Friends," he called out and looked a bit scraggly as he raised his hands and approached them a bit more before stopping. "I didn't think I'd find any other species out here," he told him with a slight wisp to his speech.[break][break]

Brilliant flames proceeded to lick towards the sky, Arlo displaying a row of sharp, off-white teeth in the desperate hope of making the wolves desire to leave. Fire usually proved to become an excellent fear tactic, a majority of creatures fleeing when faced with the bright colours of the flames, however, the wolves merely hesitated. Carefully, the hellhound lowered himself to the ground, releasing a nasty growl in hopes of frightening the mysterious wolves. While Arlo could easily fight against the wolves, he preferred the notion of avoiding the nasty dispute.
[break][break]
The wretched, sickening smell of blood filled Arlo’s sensitive nostrils, promptly covering the human-like scents. Admittedly, there was uncertainty to the variety of smells entering the air, which resulted in the criminal maintaining a guarded expression. The standoff was silent, the wolves staring as the flames sparked hesitance, but not fear. These could not possibly be regular wolves, but perhaps something more sinister treading through the Lorsette wilderness.
[break][break]
While the group of wolves remained in the field, the sounds of squawking birds and scurrying creatures fleeing the area where the fire was prominent. There were plenty of puddles and mounds of snow to demolish the flames should they spread, however, Arlo remained cautious. Off to his side, the hellhound noticed a wolf proceed to rush, the golden one promptly scaring it. The creature turned tail and fled, others following, except for a single grey wolf.
[break][break]
A deep growl escaped Arlo’s mouth as he watched the wolf proceed forward, his nose narrowly catching the scent of man. The creature shifted, leaving himself vulnerable while the hellhound extinguished his flames momentarily, figuring he could handle a single opponent if needed. The criminal merely narrowed his eyes, seriousness taking over Arlo for the instance. This man desired to instigate a fight only a few moments ago suddenly came stating them “friends” and appearing to want peace.
[break][break]
The entire situation kept Arlo from trusting the mysterious individual, the black hellhound knowing to transform back could potentially leave him vulnerable for attack. After serving as a criminal for years, he knew only those most deserving should be provided trust, but never fully given unless rewarded. There was nobody else in the immediate area, which meant things could become sketchy quickly should the hellhound decide to drop his guard.
[break][break]
Only the gods knew how many people could potentially be prepared to murder Arlo after the numerous sins he accomplishes. There were always new individuals added to the endless list because of his many crimes, thus the hellhound refused to provide the new stranger with any trust.

The man stared between the two of them waiting, but could clearly see that they weren't very trusting of him. "Oh...I havee been rude haven't I?" he stated in dismay and actually plopped down into the snow with little care. Josuah's gaze narrowed and he remained watchful and on guard as well... The scent on the other man...was becoming more clear with less of the other wolves around. The stranger smelled of wolf blood...as though he had been in a battle earlier or perhaps had many battles throughout the season. It was always difficult to tell the finer details of a scent, but he wouldn't let his guard down until he knew exactly what to expect of this man.[break][break]
Skeleton trees sway their shadows down over the ground as a wind blew through the land and the area was completely clear of anymore wolves. "Oh I am sorry about my friends," he grinned as he glanced back at the muddy paw prints leading away. "You big guy gave them quite the scare," he added with a muffled laugh as he drew his eyes towards Josuah.[break][break]
"But I'm Tani, come now you two," he gestured with his hands impatiently. "Won't you become human? How about I guess what you are? Will you talk to me then?" His gaze narrowed back onto the black wolf with red eyes.[break][break]
Josuah's attention briefly moved from the two he had stumbled upon and towards the open land. He could run away now, but he wouldn't turn his back on either of these two. He didn't trust either of them and had learned from the past that strangers with any kind of magic were far worse than a pack of snarling fangs.[break][break]

Trust was a nonexistent entity in the current situation, a frightening stillness grasping the area, leaving the trio as the only creatures in the meadow. The hairs on Arlo's back stood on end, the hellhound taking a few slow steps backwards, teeth born as he growled in a low tone. Years of possessing a criminal alignment taught the cheerful man excellently in never providing trust unless somebody gave an incredible reason to warrant it. There were disadvantages in lending a stranger faith, particularly allowing one to be placed into a position of vulnerability.
[break][break]
The hellhound kept himself lowered to the ground, eyes narrowed in a glare as he awaited the stranger to provide a proper reason to trust him. Currently, the situation was ill-favourable to transform, Arlo being uncertain if the golden-coloured wolf remained his ally. Except for the subtle waving of wind through the branches and grass, the area was mostly motionless, appearing lifeless from the effects of winter. There were the distant caws of crows as they settled far from their location, quietly observing the altercation.
[break][break]
The ugly, metallic odour of blood entered Arlo's nostrils, resulting in the hellhound taking further steps back. Distance could easily become an advantage for the fire manipulator, the flames he could manifest at any given moment capable of covering those distances. The final unknown factor was the species of the golden wolf and the mysterious stranger who introduced himself as Tani. There were a variety of creatures who could transform into wolves, which would only limit the possibilities to a majority of animal-based shifters.
[break][break]
Certain thoughts were fixated on, Arlo knowing his ultimate objective would be safely returning home to his loved ones. Those individuals who showered him with attention were the people he always desired to interact with at the end of every day. There were still missions his grandfather required him for, his childish ancestor to tease, a brother to hug-tackle and a boyfriend to text and display endless affection to. Pondering their reactions should he manage to get injured increased Arlo's resolve, fueling his inability to completely trust this stranger.
[break][break]
While he refused to outright assault the stranger, Arlo wanted to make his lack of trust evident in hopes Tani would speak more, perhaps potentially providing a reason to earn his trust. Fortunately, the hellhound knew he could run through invoking his enhanced speed and he was a mere teleportation hex away from home, although, the question was if escape was possible. Originally, the criminal had entered the wilderness fantasizing about the possibility of enjoyable wrestling with another wolf, but suddenly it transformed into a frightful standoff.
[break][break]
The sheer mentioning of shifting into human form to talk resulted in Arlo's ears pressing down against his head, the hellhound glaring as he shook his head, answering 'no'. Vulnerability arrived with shifting, the hellhound already imagined the massive scolding he would receive if he survived getting struck down after transforming at a foolish time. Furthermore, the guessing game would be rather unfair considering the options were minimal for the stranger; dark fur accompanied by fire manipulation would make it obvious he was a hellhound.
[break][break]
More steps were taken backwards, Arlo desiring to escape his current situation despite his own fighting capabilities. Injuries were unnecessary currently, especially considering by evening, the criminal would be grabbing his weaponry and accomplishing a job in the glorious and infamous name of the Norwood family.

Josuah remained on edge, but didn't display as much hostility as the black wolf that was a handful of feet beside him. The other male was making his aggression so known that the stranger before them had riveted all of his attention onto him. And it made him wondered briefly if he could provoke an attack in order to give him the opening to leave. The one named Tani didn't appear afraid of the lack of welcoming and instead seemed to take the rejection rather well.[break][break]
"I supposeee you won't give me what I want either," he mumbled out and turned his gaze onto the golden wolf for a moment before plopping his hands down on each side of his hips with a shrug. "Well what more can Tani say?" he told them honestly and with a bit of a upside down smile.[break][break]
"Finally find some friends and they won't even play," he muttered as he turned his back to them and leaned his head into his hands as he trekked through the snow. "This is why I prefer wolves at least they aren't so quick to dismiss me."[break][break]
The white haired, olive skinned male continued forward without even looking back. His hair was held back by a gray tribunal looking bandanna with gypsy like decor jingling from the sides. His clothes were dirty and he had a lip piercing above his left lip, along with a weak bearded chin.[break][break]
Josuah could have decipher his words but he had wasted enough time with this entire incident and preferred not to be out in the open during the day any longer. Still, with this man wandering freely within the forest...he'd have to backtrack a ways in order to find a safer place to sleep for the day. The last thing he wanted was to be caught resting by either of these two. A muted sigh left him as a brief look of exhaustion filled his eyes as he lowered his attention from Tani and towards the black wolf that had made it very clear he was not friendly. The contrast between his actions now verses their first interaction was completely drastic. He had no understand on why he was comfortable playing with a wolf twice his size, and then be so guarded with others.[break][break]
In the end it didn't matter... the black wolf had helped him in dealing with the pack of wolves that had attacked and had no doubt aided him with avoiding another confrontation with Tani. The stranger may have believed they were friends and the thought of fighting with two supernatural beings was enough to make depart. Regardless of either of their motives, Josuah merely cared about finding a safe place to sleep.[break][break]

Obsessive aggression could become problematic in certain situations, but currently, Arlo was concerned about his physical health should he transform. The vulnerability which arrived with shifting was a frightful thought that remained locked in the hellhound’s mind. Risking the opportunity to converse with another individual in a secluded location was completely off the criminal's agenda; danger would be at the highest level. The entire situation was rather suspicious to Arlo, the sudden shift in emotions concerning the hellhound immensely.
[break][break]
While there were people more inclined to state it was merely wild tightening its grip around the man, making it difficult to lower his guard until humane thoughts were proven. Unfortunately, determining Tani's honest intentions were impossible based off a mere glance, the circumstances of their meeting making Arlo refuse to play nicely. When the man turned to leave, his body language displayed evidence of upset, the hellhound quieting his growls to merely stare. Further aggression was unnecessary, the black wolf somewhat wishing he could apologize for the situation which resulted in their meeting; if they interacted on friendlier terms, Arlo may have considered being nicer.
[break][break]
Tranquillity breached Arlo's body language, the black-furred hellhound straightening up as Tani made motions to leave. The glare subsided into an apologetic expression, the criminal hoping the mysterious man could perhaps notice it was merely fear which resorted to these judgemental actions. Ultimately, Arlo could not read minds and understand the intentions of his fellow people without discovering more about them. There would be no safe sanctuary amidst the open fields should he be attacked. There were only three people in the area including himself, the other two being complete strangers which resulted in little reliability should he require medical attention.
[break][break]
Silently, the criminal watched, curious towards Tani's story, but unwilling to proceed for conversational value. Perhaps a day would arrive where they could potentially cross paths on better terms, however, Arlo refused to be wounded from a foolish decision. Merely imagining it could allow the hellhound to think of the exact words his grandfather, Angel and Phoenix would use; especially Phoenix. The ancient ancestor trapped in a child's body would endlessly tease him, perhaps attempting to make him appear inferior in skill.
[break][break]
Briefly, Arlo's red eyes glanced towards the golden wolf, raising a brow to reveal the human thoughts beneath. He raised his muzzle slowly, sniffling the scents around the stranger, but discovered only wolf-like smells. Originally, the criminal thought the golden wolf was merely a lone wolf wandering the wilderness, but evidently, he remained when the pack approached and Tani transformed; most regular wolves would have fled. In confusion, the hellhound cocked his head to the right side briefly before he turned to silently take his leave.
[break][break]
Enough damage was done, the cheerful criminal doubting he would receive the enjoyable wrestling he desired. The notion brought a slowness to his steps, tail remaining rather stiff as he padded across the grass, black ears pricked for noise. Leaving the location he interacted with Tani was preferred in case his assumptions were correct and the olive-skinned man was a threatening force. These few actions ruined Arlo's morning, the hellhound deciding to retreat home and start texting his beloved boyfriend; he adored showering the handsome hunting in flirtatious remarks.
[break][break]
As he proceeded to walk through wanderer's meadow, heading the opposite direction of Tani, the criminal thought about potential date ideas. Automatically, Arlo assumed the golden wolf would no longer desire his company considering the aggressive behaviour he exhibited towards Tani, although, he kept his ears pricked for the sounds of paw steps.

Josuah's gaze flickered to the black wolf as he conveniently took his leave. His emerald eyes grew tired as the events of the day weighted down upon him. He was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to rest, but he couldn't. He needed leave the area and would not be able to sleep until midday which would be a few hours away. Golden ears curved atop his head as he listened to the sounds of the forest, but he could just hear the sound of the two strangers departing.[break][break]
The beast turned in the opposite direction of the two and began a light trot to leave the area, but he soon slowed down and merely began walking at a slow pace. The only sound now was the crunching of the white snow beneath his weight. There was no wind...and nothing else throughout the surrounding area. Before him the treeline spread out giving way to pockets of open land before closing back in to a thicker dense of trees.[break][break]
The sound of another approaching never came which was unnatural, but what was even more...dangerous was the fact that the wolf standing before him...was the exact one he had left behind. His fur bristled as he stopped where he was and slowly glanced behind him without ever taking his eyes fully off the stranger.[break][break]
He had left him behind then—[break][break]
"—What is he doing here?" Josuah's eyes widened as the sound of his own voice echoed between them. The startle was so much for him that he actually took a step back on his own two human legs and lost his footing, tumbling down into the snow. His breathing began to pick up as alarm settled into him and his gaze lowered down to his hands...the hands of a child... They were dirty...like he remembered them from years ago when he had been locked within Erikur's prison. But there was more...in a slow ominous movement large black chains of his curse circled around his tiny body in a translucent form.[break][break]
"What did you do?!" He yelled back towards the stranger with anger and alarm, but his voice wasn't intimidating because of his current state. He...wasn't a child anymore he had aged and should look like a teenager...so why did he appear as if no time at all had passed? At some point he had changed...without even knowing, but he was still cursed...so how was any of this possible?![break][break]

Cracks in a regularly cheerful exterior were obvious even in Arlo's wolf form. Anxiously, his ears twitched, searching for sounds of movement in the thicket of trees around him. Brows raised as trees thickened further, making passage difficult as he attempted to return to Lorsette. Gradually, they thinned out which relieved the black-haired wolf as he scurried to the forest's edge. From the trees he leaped, landing onto the grass-covered ground and the large expanse of treeless land. Mounds of snow dotted the green fields while droplets of freshly melted ice dripped from the hanging over tree branches.
[break][break]
Instantly, the black wolf's red eyes widened broadly as he realized somehow he managed to return to Wanderer's Meadow. Briefly, Arlo glanced over his shoulder at the thicket of trees, fur bristling anxiously. Hesitance marked the hellhound's paws as he strode forward, eyes fixated on the forest around him. Endless concerns were filtering through the criminal's mind because of the unique situation. Drastically, everything altered into an ill-favourable circumstance where his life could potentially be at risk should cautionary measures be ignored.
[break][break]
The wind had dissipated entirely, weather conditions limited. Based on the peculiar circumstances, the hellhound was hasty to assume magic was at play. The type of magic was the question he truely desired to answer. Gradual steps carried Arlo through the meadow, red eyes searching briefly until he discovered a blond-haired boy where he original left the golden wolf. Ears detected the echoed words while his eyes witnessed the display occurring in front of him. Confusion resulted in Arlo's eyes flitting around until he noticed something circling the young boy, but was hardly visible.
[break][break]
A single inquiry echoed through the air between them as the mysterious child accused him of manifesting the current plight, alas, the wolf was not bothered by the allegation. Confused expressions were evident as Arlo cautiously ventured forward to sniff the mysterious chains circling the child. A few steps backwards were taken, the black-furred wolf taking a deep breath before allowing his body to change from wolf form. Paws, tail, ears and black fur disappeared into a regular pair of feet and hands, a fair complexion and a human face.
[break][break]
Communicating with the young boy would make the situation easier. Figuratively, they were trapped in a cage as somebody's playthings which meant they could only rely on one another. Slowly, Arlo stood from his hands and knees, eyes surveying the situation.
[break][break]
"I did nothing! Remember? I went running into the trees! I don't even know how I got back here," Arlo explained, subtle panic in his voice.
[break][break]
Anxiously, the hellhound glanced around, sighing as he inched closer to observe the mysterious chains. Escape was impossible if running through those trees would only return him to this location. Magic trapped them here without a clear method to exit the situation. Currently, Arlo had few options for escape, but among them was rescuing the kid and hoping he had some ideas. A deep breath entered his lungs as fire covered the black-haired man's right hand. Carefully, he reached to the chain, hoping something could be done about the present situation.

Josuah felt a wave of dread spread inside of his chest as he watched the black creature begin to shift into a human. His head lowered and darted around trying to find something to defend himself with, but the land surround him held nothing but the open expanse of grass. Ultimately, he tensed and a surge of powerful energy expelled from him or it should have...but nothing happened within their twisted reality.[break][break]
Emerald eyes hardened as he got a flash of a room in his mind...with candles and strange markings. It looked to be a cave and had been illuminated by his shield that he had somehow used in the real world. He was still piecing it all together though and hadn't come to a solid conclusion of what was going on like the stranger who was now standing before him.[break][break]
Josuah had been too lost in what had just transpired that he hadn't properly prepared himself for battle. He held his breath and focused his energy again wanting to use his dome to protect himself if the stranger tried to attack. But he didn't want to give the power away immediately, so he still could use the element of surprise to make his escape.[break][break]
The other male was tall, slender and looked to be a snake of man, but not as thuggish as the white haired male they had met earlier. The male didn't try to attack him and instead began arguing his innocence. But leaving the area did not suddenly exclude him from being the culprit.[break][break]
A sound of muffled alarm left his petite from as he scrambled to his feet when the other guy suddenly burst a flame within his hand. Josuah felt so unguarded in his human form because he didn't have his claws or fangs...he was weak and feeble as a child. It reminded him of how powerless he felt in the past when he had been captured and he hated the feelings...he hated the memories.[break][break]
"Don't touch me," he snarled out more like an animal than a civilized boy. But the hand did not come to him and instead reached for his chain which were draped around in him all angles. The other guy's hand fazed through the prison links and Josuah couldn't even feel the heat of his fire. Even he couldn't touch his own chains, but that was merely because the world they were in wasn't real...it couldn't harm them it was just a place to keep them occupied. But the young wolf didn't know this at least not yet.[break][break]

Clueless and somewhat frightened by the current situation, Arlo attempting to maintain a calm composure or some semblance of one. Trapped in those chains was a mere child, somebody the hellhound would guess was frightened and uncertain. If Arlo guessed, the blond child was terrified of the current situation. Fire surrounded Arlo's hands, the ability being something the hellhound relied on throughout life. A snarl from the feral child reached the criminal's ears, however, he ignored it, red eyes fixated on the mysterious chains wrapped around Josuah.
[break][break]
Closer, Arlo's fire consumed hand closed the distance between the palm and the shadow-like chains restricting the blond boy. Fingers preemptively curled, prepared to grab the darkly-shaded chains, alas, the connection was nonexistent. Almost as though the chains were merely ghosts, Arlo's hand phased through the object as though they did not exist in this reality. The hellhound's red eyes widened as he gazed upon his flame-consumed hands before flitting back at the chains imprisoning the unfortunate boy.
[break][break]
"Wh-what the hell?!" Arlo shouted.
[break][break]
Cussing was never appropriate in front of children, however, given the circumstances, swears were the least of their worries. These chains were impervious to Arlo's fire manipulation and furthermore, his touch entirely. Translucent and ghost-like, these chains were nothing like anything the hitman had handled before. Subtle fear pulsed through Arlo's chest, heartrate accelerating as he winced. Concern was expressed across his facial features as uncertainty reigned supreme; he was clueless on how to rescue the blond.
[break][break]
Something mysterious was at play, alas, the nature of the magic was unknown to Arlo. There was obviously something amidst, the evidence existing in his sudden return to this location and finally, the chains themselves. Panicked, the black-haired hellhound glanced over the situation, trying to calm and search for a solution, alas, it was difficult...
