Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff
season
Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Chamomile blinked her staring orange eyes at the deer stalking through the woods. She was silent as she moved, having had many many years to practice. Perhaps it was a bit late to be alone on the mountain, and off the beaten path never the less, but she was an adult and she could handle herself, and right now the adult skinwalker needed something to eat, specifically something meaty.
Cami was in her typical form of a human girl and as she watched the deer carefully she wondered if she might come across anybody else tonight. It had happened more than once, where despite her going out in the middle of the night to hunt there happened to be some sort of person doing a dangerous hike up the mountain for some reason or another. She never worried about it too much, usually it wasn't hard to explain it away as her being a hunter and enjoying living off the land, rather than being a flesh hungry skinwalker who was only alive because of a failed immortality ploy.
The deer's ears flicked slightly as Chamomile sprung forward. Her frame darted closer in an instant and she plunged the knife into the deer's neck, and then again and again in rapid succession just to make sure that it's death was quick. She had to do this, that didn't mean she wanted to cause suffering, still, she relished in the memories of her younger days when the warm crimson liquid pooling at her feet was more commonly from a humanoid source. It had been a while ago and Cami was different now, but that didn't stop the thoughts from surfacing.
As her stomach growled Cami dropped to her knees beside the felled deer and considered her options. She could eat this here and risk getting caught and having a harder time explaining eating the raw meat, or she could take it home and risk going over twenty four hours since her last meal. Cami let her disguise shift back to her regular skinwalker form and began to chow down as her bones cracked and popped back into place. She winced as one of her leg bones elongated in a way that she had never quite gotten used to. it was almost second nature now to shift between forms, but there were still a few parts of it that always made her uncomfortable. Despite these thoughts she continued to sink her teeth into the still warm flesh of the deer. It was just as filling as always.
About halfway through her meal Chamomile picked up footsteps approaching. She sighed, her premonition earlier about running into somebody not being entirely false it seemed. Perhaps taking to deer back to her house would have been easier. With a few popping grinds she shifted back into her human girl form and looked down at herself. Her black skirt and shoes hid the blood nicely, but her pink shirt was now stained crimson and her hands and face were also covered in blood. This might be a bit hard to explain, but surely something like a vampire might have similar habits so she could just pass herself off as a vampire. She ran her tongue over her decidedly not sharp teeth in this form an winced, no longer having time to shift as a being came into view.

there are some ideas that should be evident enough, one would be the need to feed. to be alive. the rush went to her head. even so, the need to be away has always been well developed in her mind. imogen knew well enough to get away is to be safe. the mount skyline is one of the many places where solitude is the greatest and have the most comfort. as wings carried her through the skies, she could feel the wind on her feathers and on her face. it came a rather suitable experience after such a long time spent in her floral shop.
clear skies and no one to disturb her. cracking her neck just a bit, imogen felt her body become more precised and ready. holding onto her messenger bag, she took out her book about adventure upon the moor and way beyond the point. it should have been a nonfiction with the way the world is. taking in a deep breath, she noticed the hint of blood in the air. not too far, might be a suffering deer or perhaps a bear killing its cub because it was going to die young due to an infectious disease.
"oh, did i disturb you?" her body was already where death was. perhaps it was the honing of her fallen self. after all, she is no angel anymore so death has become a close relative. "you also have some blood around your mouth -- maybe your entire body too."
she sighed a bit before rummaging through her bag finding a towel. "i was going to find a lake to take a dip in, but, this seems a bit more urgent. you should also consider on maybe checking if the deer has parasites or anything contagious."
Chamomile gazed over the figure before her. A woman, looking around the age of twenty five, maybe thirty. She had black torn wings and a bandaged arm from the quick glance over her. Perhaps she could be convinced that this was just a messy vampire feast rather than a skinwalker wandering about.
At the mention of the blood Cami casually wiped her face on the sleeve of her pink shirt, only really managing to smear the blood around. She hoped that this wasn't too strange. It was the middle of the night after all and wasn't this when all of the nighttime creatures like vampires came out. Sure, Cami could believe that so hopefully this woman before her could too.
"Oh I don't worry about any parasites. Healing is like second nature to me. As for the blood, well, I was expecting to be alone our here with time to clean up." She stated with a chuckle. Her laugh wasn't exactly the most calming, as most things about Cami were, it was unsettling even, kind hitching in an almost clicking way.
"What about you though dear? With those wings of yours I might guess something inhuman being your heritage. Does that mean that you came here hoping for a meal? I apologize if I got your hopes up." Chamomile stepped closer to the woman as she spoke, trying to get a better beat on what sort of being she might be. Was she simply human with wing manifestation, or was this something else?
Looking at the towel Chamomile laughed the same clicking laugh. "Oh don't worry about me dear! I've had plenty of practice with cleaning blood and, in fact, I was thinking of a dip in a lake myself."
The currently orange haired skinwalker wondered if she should try to make her speech a little more modern and childish. She did, after all, look about eighteen right now and calling a woman who looked at least twenty five "dear" wasn't exactly a common thing to do. Perhaps for a vampire that wasn't so strange though. Cami also couldn't help but wonder how she was dealing with the effects of the skinwalker aura, most adults handled it fairly well, not showing outward effects of the unsettling feeling.
