Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Urijah couldn't help but smile slightly, replying meant distance but still being able to talk to Alec, the idea of being able to talk to Alec sounded nice. "What do you do?" He honestly couldn't remember if he asked earlier. It would also give him the chance to have the subject all on Alec instead of himself. Having too much attention on himself, he just wasn't ever a fan of it. He wasn't sure what to say until he felt Alec nudge him, he couldn't help but chuckle until he noticed Alec shudder. "Are you alright?" Now see, this was exactly why Alec was supposed to take his health much more seriously. Being placed in the ground interesting was flattering but there was a flaw with Alec's comment, when choosing to group him in it. He was far from interesting and he wasn't worth getting to know, far from it to be exact. Though he had made that comment earlier and it seemed Alec wasn't going to accept it unless he did something against him. Urijah couldn't bring himself to try, he wanted Alec around. In fact if Alec wasn't around he was almost positive the world would come crashing down all around him.
He had been quiet far too long. "I can understand that, but if you don't keep your health up, you'll only limit yourself in the long run. You can only do so much when you aren't healthy." He countered, figuring that came out better than he had once expected. "Comparing your health as if you could become immune around us sooner or later sounds interesting. Though I can't bring myself to join in that experiment. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if you got sicker around me." He sighed, "Yes, I got your point." It seemed to him like it was an argument that he wouldn't win but that wouldn't stop him from trying. When Alec had asked what sort of guy he was looking for, he had answered it, but when Alec made his comment in return, he couldn't help but chuckle once more. "More like you putting up with mine." He corrected, "But I don't recall you saying you were looking for somebody willing to put up with yours, sooooooo I suppose with me being an undead and all, I'm out of the counting."
"--I'm fine, I'm fine." Alec assured with a nervous chuckle in response to the other's worry, shaking his head. As long as he made it out of the limo alive, everything was a-okay. Even if he wasn't quite as sure about it as he had been, before. It was difficult to hold onto your arrogance when you felt as though you would be passing out any moment. Still, just a bit longer. He didn't dare give up. "Oh, I actually work as a freelancer." He explained smiling. "I take on all sorts of odd jobs on commission. When I was younger, I didn't quite understand the concept of doing one thing your whole life, so I ended up kinda doing whatever I could, and learning along the way. It's worked out pretty well for me, so far~" He continued, nodding. At Urijah's mention of being unable to forgive himself, Alec paused, coming to a realization. Was he being a bother? Was his persistence just causing the other man strife? That certainly wasn't the way to win anyone over... But what else could he do? He wanted to stay. "I'm putting up with yours?" Alec repeated chuckling. "But where's the bullshit, then? I haven't seen any." He teased, grinning. At the following comment of being 'out of the counting,' Alec paused once more, looking to him. "...Well, that's entirely up to you, now isn't it?" He spoke with a new smile, brushing some of his hair back behind an ear.
Urijah wasn't so sure and seeing Alec like this was somewhat painful to watch. Now I understand how undeads feel when people can't be near elves.... or how people felt in general when I pushed them away even before dying.... It wouldn't change the fact, he chose his fate and he'd be damned if Alec got sick because he was determined to stick by his side. He would then ask what Alec did for a living, finding his job rather interesting. "It sounds like it could have fun moments, assuming the job you take is what you'd deem as fun." Perhaps their definition of fun was different than one another. If he didn't know any better, he would have reason to believe that many of the jobs Alec took, he would possibly deem as fun though. Alec appeared to be a pleasant guy to be around, making it very difficult to detach from him. To Alec's question he would chuckle and look to the side. "Of course you are." He knew he pushed people away and the one person determined to stay by his side was the one person who'd get sick being near him.
"Come now, of course you have." He answered back, a small grin on his face. "And this isn't over by a long shit, mister." He would answer back, if Alec wasn't going to take care of his health, he'd just have to help him. Seeing as Alec wouldn't be able to lie in front of him forever, he was positive he would get used to the signs. To the comment of countering his on being out the counting he would blush slightly, once more looking to the side. "It wouldn't be fair to my partner." He would answer, suddenly serious again. It wouldn't be fair if he was an elf, but just me in general. It wouldn't be fair to him being stuck around me. He thought to himself, noticing that they seemed to be driving close to some residential homes. "Are you sure you live over here?" He was somewhat curious on that answer and if Alec would be exiting or staying in the car to go to another address.
"Wouldn't be fair..?" Alec spoke, seemingly confused by the concept. He fell quite for a moment then, having to ponder it, wanting to understand the other's view on the matter. What about it would be unfair, exactly..? Sure, he could see where the man was going in the case of himself and his illness, but in general? Did Urijah think so little of himself? His brows furrowed at that thought, he looked over to the other man, trying to see what it was that the Undead was seeing in himself, to garner such self hate. He still wasn't getting any closer to the answer. "Ahh... Perhaps my mindset is just too different. Or, well, it's a little difficult to think at the moment, as well... But I just don't get it. You wanted to feel love so much so that you cheated on your wife. Why do you deny yourself opportunities, now?" He questioned, his tone straightforward and to the point, wanting to know how his new friend thought, before he would have to leave his side for the night. Seeing that they were getting closer to the address he'd given, Alec pouted, not ready for their chat to be over. He knew he couldn't handle much more, but his stubborn willpower remained. "Ah, yes, it's close to here..." He admitted, clearly unhappy with the fact. He knew once he was out of the car, he'd just have to hold himself together until the other was out of sight before he could collapse. He couldn't postpone it any longer. "You'll text, right? You're not going to try to avoid me since I'm an Elf?"
Urijah sighed, looking to the side. "Yeah, I do seem to have this backwards, don't I?" He asked, though he wasn't really looking for an answer. "Cheating on my wife, wasn't the worst thing I have done in my live however and for that reason, it would be unfair to anybody else." He wasn't about to go into detail about how he killed his wife in self defense, blaming himself for not divorcing her in the first place or how he had killed Lachlan and it turned out there wasn't a good reason to do that either. His whole life appeared to be a lie and he was just stuck here, forced to live it. Though it was true they appeared to be getting closer to the address Alec had provided, he couldn't bring himself to answer the question that Alec had laid out before him. Unaware that he had given a fact address in the first place. "Pull over." He would tell the driver and when the car had stopped, he opened the car door and exited, not waiting for the driver to open it for him.
He couldn't tell Alec that he was going to avoid him in person from now on, couldn't tell him that they could only talk by text because it was unfair for Alec to get sick around him. Maybe I should just walk home now.... He thought to himself, finding the fresh air to be nice, though there was only one problem. He had left Alec behind and that in itself wasn't fair either, not when it seemed Alec wanted nothing more than to be around him instead. I am such an idiot! How am I supposed to handle this?
As Urijah asked for the driver to pull over, Alec gave a confused look. They weren't there yet, were they? Then watching as the other man opted to get out, he frowned, realizing what was going on. He wasn't about to let him escape that easily. "Hey..!" Huffing as the other started walking off, Alec was quick to get out after him, trying to catch up. Unfortunately, he realized too late that the quick movements were too much for his weakened body. His dash almost immediately slowed to a stop as he hunched over, his hands on his knees to support himself. He was trying hard to fight it, but he knew it wasn't going to go well if he tried to stand back up and keep following. With a deep breath followed by a shudder, he tried, anyway. "Ah, hell--" Not even two steps taken and he felt his body giving out, the ground quickly approaching as he fell. Really, all he could think about in that moment was how bad it would make Urijah feel if he passed out. He really should have given up, sooner. He needed to learn how to give up, in general. But it probably wasn't going to happen. "Sorry--" Panting heavily, he had just managed to break his fall with his hands, but it didn't do much to help his condition. Within moments, he was out, unable to keep clinging to his consciousness, no matter how stubborn.
Urijah had heard Alec calling behind him but he just had to keep moving, the more distance he gave Alec, the faster he would feel better instead of being ill. Within a few minutes he was starting to feel calmer from the night air, wishing nothing more than his time with Alec to last just a tad bit longer. He would turn around and head back towards the car, deciding that he would check up on Alec and determined then if he would have the driver take Alec home or if he would be able to remain in the car with him to that destination. On his way back towards the car, he noticed a figure on the ground. He was quick to notice that it was Alec but he wasn't sure what to do, on the one hand, he could rush over to check his pulse, or he could walk slower and hope that his presence wouldn't cause extra harm to Alec. "Driver get out here!" He shouted, finally within reach of Alec. He would slowly reach out his hand to check Alec's pulse, pausing when he remembers that touching him would cause direct harm.
He waved the driver over, having him press his hand against Alec's neck to check for a pulse. "I think I feel one." The driver would answer before being allowed to pull away from Alec. "Help me get him in the car." Urijah would move towards Alec's feet, using the pant leg fabric to his advantage to avoid touching him directly. The driver would lift Alec up by the shoulders before they carried him towards the car, later carefully setting him down on the back seat. The driver was about to take the front seat. "Oh no you don't.... somebody needs to be back here with him and the last thing he needs is an undead...." Urijah would tell the driver, watching him go in the backseat before getting in the driver seat himself. He would then start the car and drive back to his hotel, there he would help the driver get Alec into the bedroom, then pay his driver to take care of Alec while he remained outside of the room.
