Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.

Please note, due to a late start, the due date for this check has been adjusted for one time and one time only.
There was chill in the air, obvious by the feeling alongside the visual sign of spirals of steam that escaped people's mouths. The world seemed silent that afternoon, the only noise being made by the few gaggles of adults and teenagers. It seemed to emphasize the loneliness in the area as Felix walked silently down the pathway, tapping their cane despite their electric senses being active; the subtle noise of the cane meeting concrete was calming. As usual, the blind individual wore the clothing their parents selected for them with no argument. The simplistic black coat they often wore, a pair of blue jeans and warm black boots. Their hands were clothed with gloves to assure warmth in the cold outside weather. In order to retain warmth, Felix had unfolded their coat's collar to rest below their chin.
Every so often they would shrug their shoulder's up, bringing the collar closer to their face, to hide their face from the cold. There was a gentle snowfall that day, obvious by the flakes that touched their face every so often; their electric sense could never notice something so small. Beneath their boots came the crunch of stepping on a fresh layer of snow, only a few other park patrons must have walked down the path. As they walked around Crow Feather Park, Felix noticed the groups of people huddling together, speaking in quiet whispers. On most days, they would have perhaps slowed their pace to eavesdrop, but it only reminded them of exactly how lonesome they were. When they had awakened, their mother explained she already had their clothes arranged and that her and Felix's father were going out for a few hours. Normally, interactions lasted longer to assure the blind individual's safety, but today was one of the rushing days. It inevitably resulted in a house that felt empty, even Suman not being overly keen on revealing himself.
It ended with the blind individual opting to at least take a walk, leaving a tape recording to act as a message for their parents. Yet, this venture outside only seemed to increase those feelings of being lonesome. Making friends was always a difficulty to Felix, especially due to their rather expressionless disposition. There was also the fact that they would correct them on false statements which eventually seemed to grow tiring and sometimes resulted in anger. A soft sigh escaped their lips as they continued walking, electric sensory easily discovering the path from the rise it possessed and various indents. Momentarily, they debated turning around and heading home considering how alone they felt. They continued down the path, hearing the laughter of children; the telltale sign of closing in on the playground that Crow Feather Park possessed. Their senses shortly touched a more lively area of the park that included parents talking by wooden benches and children running around at play.
A pause was taken on the path, the blind individual momentarily absorbing the noise and motions of the area. Fortunately, the lovely area did not possess a headache inducing loudness that would bother their head. They soon continued down the path, focusing on their senses while passing the person infested area; they were not keen on crashing into anybody. Children would run across the path; they were playing a game of tag based on the words and motions they made. As Felix made their way through, they easily avoided the playing children due to their senses. The gesture was likely confusing since their blindness was rather obvious. Once they were nearly through, the blind individual's steps began to lengthen in stride and gain some confidence, only slowing when another group of children were about to pass. Before they could stop entirely themself, Felix felt a hand tightly grip their shoulder. A bemused glance was taken towards the masculine figure that stood, holding their shoulder.
That was when the individual spoke, inquiring why a blind fellow like them was doing wandering around all alone. Instinctively, Felix shook their shoulder from the man's grip and favoured him with a glare. The gesture was benevolent, but the blind individual disliked when people would act as though they constantly needed attended. A few moments were taken to straighten their composure, then the blind individual faced the kindly man.
"I'm plenty capable of handling myself, I assure you," Felix stated simply. "Despite my blindness I have successfully navigated buildings and far more complex areas without any assistance. Now if you would excuse me, I will be on my way."
Without further words, Felix continued, the annoyance slightly displayed on their face. Their minor independence was a trait that the blind individual had grown proud of. It was something they desired to maintain and hopefully adapt to allow themself to accomplish other menial tasks. The pace the blind individual walked at increased in speed, they simply wanted to escape being near those who desired to lead them through the park. They required no escort on this venture! Their method of navigation was not disrupted! Felix slowed after they could no longer hear the children, finding themself in a more solitary section of the park. For a few moments they listened before heading down the path, wondering if leaving the crowded area had been a good idea since once again they found themself alone.
And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while.
Jaimez was in a pleasant mood for once, strolling along the sidewalk with her earbuds in. It was nice to feel at peace for once, but the looming fear of danger would not leave her head. It was ingrained her from her years of experience. Doing her best to shake it off, Jai took a few deep breaths and continued to follow the path of the sidewalk. She closed her eyes and continued along, having already memorized the path despite being in Lorsette for only a short time. It was some time before she was disturbed and she jumped in surprise as a group of children ran into her, knocking her to the ground.
She scowled, her good mood already ruined. As she stood, she mumbled a few choice words at the group who had already run off to continue whatever game they were playing. She turned to continue her walk in an attempt to salvage her mood. A few yards away stood two people, one placed a hand on the other’s shoulder and they shook it off, clearly annoyed. She raised an eyebrow as they walked away, tapping some sort of cane along the ground in front of them.
Curiosity got the better of her and Jai hastily, but cautiously followed behind the individual. Farther into the park, she stepped lightly, careful to make as little sound as possible. Once within range, she reached out and attempted to pry into their mind. Occupied with using her power, she neglected to watch her step and was quickly ripped from her stalkee’s mind at the realization of her mistake. The snap of sticks beneath her feet caused her to jump in the air and run for cover behind a nearby tree. Jai prayed desperately to not be found as terrible scenarios flashed through her mind.
The world seemed quiet while Felix continued their lonesome walk, their cane serving as the only company. Crunch of snow and the gentle tapping were the only noises in the blind individual's world meanwhile their senses searched the area. There was mild guilt in brushing off the gentleman who was attempting to assist them; it only furthered their guilt when they thought about how he could not have been aware of Felix's senses. An gentle sigh escaped their lips while they continued their walk down the pathway. It was merely their craving for independence that made attempts to assist them more of a nuisance than a helpful act. Their thoughts remained preoccupied with the occurrence until Felix began noticing something in their sensory circle. Thoughts about what happened faded from the blind individual's mind for the time being, somebody was following them.
Suddenly, Felix was alert as they became concerned over this development. Somebody had conveniently began following them the instant they left the crowded section of the park. It screamed possible kidnapping or something similar, and them being an informant meant they could be quite the prize. Either way, Felix remained wary as they continued down the path, focusing on the mysterious person following them. Despite the nervousness they felt creeping in, the purple haired individual refused to show the emotion on their face. They feigned obliviousness, deciding it was best to wait and make certain that this person was indeed following them. While they walked, Felix focused their static sense on the individual and began noting certain traits, like a feminine physique; presumably they were female. She seemed keen on following, although, the reasoning was uncertain to Felix. The longer the following occurred, the more paranoid Felix found themself feeling; it was hard not to be when danger was in the informant job description. Breathing was kept calm, steps were forced to not speed up and with all their might they refused to look behind them.
When the twig snapped and the girl hid, Felix was fairly certain that there was something wrong. Their thoughts were screaming that she was a threat. In a moment of instincts, the blind individual focused their electrokinesis causing it to give the girl a quick zap in hopes to create a momentary stun. They looped back, not bothering with the cane tapping while they briskly walked towards the girl's hiding place. Once stationed in front of the girl, they placed both hands on top of their cane and used their static sense to find her face and look at her.
"Now, may I ask why exactly you were following me?" Felix asked in a neutral tone.
They did their best to keep the emotion away from their voice. The purple-haired individual honestly felt frightened by the concept of being followed. For all they knew, this person was more dangerous than she was letting on currently. To increase their nervousness, Felix was a horrible fighter due to lack of training. Thus, they silently prayed it would not turn into a brawl.
And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while.
The lone person continued down the path, seemingly oblivious to young redhead following them. Not a minute after she’d hid, there was a jolt of electricity running through her and then she was on the ground. For a moment, it felt like her skin was on fire and then she was back in the bedroom, Richard was there, a cigarette in his mouth just like always. He turned to her and, without a word, yanked her across the bed by her arm and began pressing the cigarette into her skin. She could feel it melting and burning, that was when the screaming started. At first, she couldn’t discern the origin of the sound, but then she realized it was coming from her own mouth. Tears streamed down her face and she tried to pull away but he was too strong. SHe was small and malnourished, he was twice her size and surprising fit for an alcoholic and a druggie.
To any onlookers, it seemed as if she was having a heart attack, or some kind of epileptic seizure. She lay in the snow, convulsing violently and screaming the word “No” over and over as tears streamed down her face. It seemed endless, the images flashing by one by one; going so fast they became a blur of pain and trauma. When the images finally faded, she curled herself into a ball, sobbing.
“I’m so sorry, I *hic* I’m so sorry. Please don’t hurt me, I’m sorry.”
She braced herself for the blow was sure to follow, holding herself in the fetal position, muscles tight. This was always the worst part, the waiting. Richard liked to wait till her guard was down before landing the first of many blows, spewing hateful words at her along with his spit. It was terrible, never knowing when it was coming, when she was going to be hit. She had become quite good at reading emotions because of Richard’s unpredictable mood swings. It was better to know what was going to happen and when, so if she detected any anger on someone’s face she would antagonize. Better to make them lash out than to wait for the inevitable.
There was a pause as Felix waited for the stranger to answer them, however, things shortly changed when the girl began screaming and convulsing. A feeling of guilt entered the blind individual, their paranoia caused them to do something horrible. Before they could manage to do something about the situation, a violent swirling of emotions seemed to slam into them. There was fear, plenty of it that appeared suddenly and caused Felix to backpedal a few steps in surprise. The strength of the emotions that seemed to radiate from the young girl caused the blind individual to shake. Their mind was thrown in disarray from the fear and the slight headache edging from the screaming. Emotionally, it felt as though Felix was plunged somewhere dark and horrible. Prior to usual, the concern, guilt and fear became more evident on their face as the blind individual got launched into a pit of emotions.
Eventually, the emotional hold seemed to cease and their breathing steadied from the occurrence. For a few moments, the blind individual merely recovered from the upset. The headache they possessed faded quickly and finally their mind felt reorganized. A few slow breaths were taken before Felix's static sensory was reactivated. That was when they noticed the girl curled up, apologizing and with a little focus the purple-haired individual managed to notice she was crying. The guilt seemed to stab at Felix, and with a gentle sigh they slowly crouched down. They looked at the girl with uncertainty to whether or not they should reach out and touch her. Hesitantly, the blind individual reached out to softly touch her arm to grab her attention.
"You should not be the one apologizing. I did not mean to startle you. I sincerely apologize," Felix stated. Their voice possessed a hint more emotion than usual. "I am an informant, thus, when I noticed you following me I thought you wanted to bring harm to me. What I did was reckless behavior sparked from my own paranoia and a moment of idiocy. I do apologize once again."
They still felt guilty while they remained crouched. Doing nothing about this was definitely not on the agenda, they had to assist this young woman after what they had created. It was the least Felix could do.
"Is there anything I can do to calm you down?" Felix inquired gently.
There had to be something they could do to help her feel better, or at least calm down. The guilt laid heavy on the blind individual's heart; they felt horrible for making this woman so upset. A silent curse was given to their sudden burst of paranoia over the concept of being followed by an individual who wished to do them harm. Reckless, it was completely reckless and Felix was mentally scolding themself for their actions. They could have merely looped back around to the more crowded section of the park, but instead decided to take matters into their own hands and "defend" themself. It was a moment of stupidity and Felix would not lie in saying they was hated themself for it.
And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while.
They stumbled away from her as she flailed about, recovering a few moments later. She could feel them crouch beside her and flinched violently when their hand made contact with her arm. Jai cowered on the ground, shaking fiercely. The strange individual’s words barely broke through the fog in her mind as she lay there stiffly. They were apologizing to her, no one had ever done that. They explained their reasoning for the attack on her, apologizing once more
Risking a glance, Jaimez looked up at them, cautiously making eye contact. It instantly occurred to her that they were, in fact, blind. There’s no way they could’ve known she wasn’t a threat, they couldn’t even see her. She cursed herself for being such an idiot. She sat up and looked them over and decided they couldn’t do much if she decided to start swinging. She was angry at herself for making such a stupid mistake. Standing quickly, she turned away, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I don’t need any help, especially from you. I can take care of myself.”
Her voice was full of anger with an edge of steel. Her face was screwed into a grimace as she stared at the ground. She couldn’t believe she’d let herself become so vulnerable, especially around another person. Her walls were thrown up once more and she forced herself not to show any fear.
Concern seem to be an ever growing emotion while Felix watched the poor girl who they had harmed. They noticed her flinch the moment their hand made contact with her arm which only caused the blind individual to feel another pang of guilt. Had they scared her that badly? When she began shaking, the guilt began to show on the impassive individual's face. They were feeling absolutely rotten about what they had done to this poor young woman. When the girl sat up, there was a little relief. Their senses remained up in order to check her expressions or for any sudden movements. Shortly, they found themself surprised as the girl suddenly stood up and crossed her arms. As usual, the emotion of surprise did not cross their face while they listened to the stranger as she stated that she did not require his help.
The anger and steel within their voice did not sting Felix, but they were admittedly bothered by the manner of which she stated that she did not need their help. Slowly, the blind individual stood and looked at her with perhaps the wrong idea over the 'especially from you' bit. It was hard not to take offense from that considering to Felix it meant that she perhaps did not want their help due to their blindness; either that or it was a fierce need for independence or perhaps they were angry for them shocking her. They were really not appreciating the manner of which they were being spoken to either way and no longer felt guilty for shocking her. If she planned to display this rude behavior over their attempt to make amends, Felix had no reason to feel the way they had been.
"Well, excuse me for attempting to assist you. I will definitely remember next time, should there be one, that you are plenty capable to take care of yourself. Not that I would desire to assist you again considering the impertinent manner you are displaying towards me, which I do not appreciate." Their tone had returned to completely neutral, carrying the usual sophistication. "Lastly, I still want to know why exactly you were following me."
Each word was pronounced perfectly as though they had all been said before in the exact same string of words. There was no longer a reason to display some emotions; this girl was acting rudely towards them. At least they were obviously feeling better, which meant Felix had a reason to interrogate her to find out why exactly she may have been following them. The stranger's behavior gave them further reasoning to poke for answers; being slightly rude to this young woman was no longer a bother to Felix. The blind individual crossed their arms and waited for her response in hopes it was an actual answer.
And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while.
Jai was incredulous, though her face did not reveal the shock she felt.
“Excuse me?!”
She sputtered angrily, voice rising steadily with each syllable. She believed she had every right to be angry at the blind individual. She had only been following them and had not presented a threat in the least. They were the one who attacked her without just cause. She could feel herself shaking with anger and finally, she exploded.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?! I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY WITH YOU< YOU ATTACKED ME FOR NO REASON! ALL I DID WAS FOLLOW YOU, NOT ONCE DID I THREATEN YOU IN ANY WAY.”
She breathed heavily, how dare call her rude for being upset. She’d been attacked. Sent into a spiral of horrible memories. The redhead pressed the heels of her hands against her eyes and growled. This was absolutely ridiculous, they were blaming her for their own stupid mistake.
“You are calling me rude? I was curious, so I followed you. I did not threaten you, never once did I produce a weapon; yet here you are calling ME rude for getting angry after you attacked me for no goddamn reason.”
Jai turned around, trying to calm her breathing and slow her heartbeat. She was going to have a panic attack if she didn’t calm down soon. The redhead struggled to breathe, gasping in air. This was a terrible idea and Jaimez should have known better, yet here she was making mistakes again.
There was an extreme lack of emotion in Felix's face now; they always hated rude behavior. It was rather intolerable to them and made it difficult to pity the girl who had clearly been upset a mere few moments ago. In this case, however, the stranger also seemed to possess a short-tempered personality. When they referred to her as rude, they grew furious over the concept. For the blind informant, it was not obvious until she started to lash words of anger their way. Most may have flinched, perhaps even backed down or returned the angry tone of voice at the stranger, but Felix refrained. They kept a placid composure, their impassive face making it appear as though they were unaffected by the girl's overwhelming anger. In fact, they swore they could sense the amount of anger the stranger held towards them; that was definitely odd.
For the time being, Felix decided to wait for later to ponder over the peculiar discoveries they were making while conversing with this girl. They needed peace and quiet to give the quarry of why thoroughly. When the teenage girl finished screaming, a moment of hesitation was taken for the blind informant to make certain she was finished.
"First of all, I am blind, not deaf. So if you could refrain from yelling as to allow my hearing to remain intact, that would be marvelous. Secondly, I already informed you that I work as an informant, therefore, your sudden following after I left the crowded section of the park was seen as threatening. Thirdly, I am blind so how could I possibly know you were not a threat? Lastly, for all my knowledge about you, a stranger, there was no possible way for me to deduct whether or not you possessed powers that could have been used as an execution method. All those points placed together proves that there is no possible method for me to detect how threatening you were."
There words were stated firmly, holding a neutral tone as they informed the woman of the defense they held. Although, Felix would admit that it was morally wrong of them to have shocked the young girl, it did not mean they would passively allow her to treat them rudely. In the scenario, it was probable that people would view them as the aggressor, but that was a so be it case. That was a sensible reasoning considering they were only making the matter worst as the female teen began getting mad at them again.
"I apologized for what I did, numerous times. I still carry that pang of guilt, but the fact that you discourteously brushed be away for attempting to make amends is why I am classifying you as rude. Should you redeem yourself, than perhaps the unkindly word will not be associated with your-" Felix stopped suddenly.
They picked it up, the noise of the redheaded woman gasping for air. Another stirring a guilt entered their emotions, they had done something terrible they felt. For a moment, they considered trying to help, but they remembered what the girl had stated before which caused them to hesitate a second. That verbal promise was definitely not enough to cease them from trying to help her when she was struggling to breath. Thus, Felix closed the distance, but refrained from reaching out to touch them.
"Excuse me? You alright?" The blind individual asked.
Their static sensory went to work, focusing in an attempt to help Felix recognize the contours of her face. It was clearly a medical issue of sorts, perhaps onset from their pushing? A moment was taken to calculate the possibilities, one of the being a panic attack. The next question was what they could possibly due to assist the girl and after a few seconds they stationed themself beside her and began the little helpful tips they heard; they were really praying that they were not incorrect in this case.
"It will be alright, try to slow your breathing. It will cease soon, I promise and I assure you, I'm no liar," Felix said gently.
The words were merely a beginning, genuine concern marking them every so often. Felix always struggled to put emotion into their tone of voice, which caused them to worry they were not doing a significant enough job. For a few moments, they remained silent in order to monitor if the stranger was indeed entering a panic attack and if anything they said were helping.
