Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
In the beginning, she thought she could handle it. A simple fan meet-up, chosen at her whim. A place, a date, and a length of time. She was meticulous, careful in her choice, doing her damndest to make sure the stars aligned just right. A meet and greet, something everyone who didn’t hide their face, and was somewhat popular on the internet, eventually did right? To Zenaide’s credit, it didn’t all go to hell in a handbasket immediately. At first, it was manageable. Then it spiraled into something absolutely insane. [break][break]
Her fans were curious, asking questions and politely all waiting their turn. Some asked for her to sign things, which she obliged, thankful that none of the items were inherently creepy. But when more and more people started to get over-excited, riled up, and then competing with one another, the situation became out of hand quickly. Eventually things took an almost comically silly turn and she took off running, as the small crowd followed after her. This wasn’t the way she imagined the day going, but it certainly got her heart pounding in her chest. [break][break]
Ducking behind the first somewhat strong looking person she saw, she peeked over his shoulder and the red feathered wing that certainly stuck out in a crowd. ”Sorry for this sudden intrusion into your space sir, but I have some fans rioting. Mind playing a bodyguard or cop or something? You look really tough!” The red-haired female was hoping it was just enough to sway him towards her favor, because she really did not want to have to deal with that crowd alone again, not if anything could be done about it. Oh, here they come. As soon as they noticed that she was in the company of someone else, they hesitated, slowed, eyed them both with the way only a gossipy pack of rabid fans would. Smiling from her place partially hidden behind the strange male, Zenaide gave a small half-wave as if the whole thing of getting him involved was planned. It most certainly wasn’t, but if she could play it that way to her fans, she would. Who knows, they might eat it all up or something. Tilting her head a little closer she whispers, ”Hey get me put of this and I’ll owe you something. Maybe I can show you how to play a game or something.” It was the first thing that popped into her mind, being as she was a game streamer, after all.
The popular streamer has never once failed a request to a friend! As of now, that wasn’t about to start, either. Tapping a finger lightly on the screen of her phone, a charm swung from the clasp that clipped it to the phone case, a small crystal flower that sparkled in the light. The case itself was a pale pink patterned with white cherry blossom designs, maybe a little basic but the protection it garnered her phone was more than enough. Zenaide can count the number of times on one hand she had dropped it, and no damage had resulted from the folly. Most phones would have had a nasty crack split across the screen, but she was far luckier than that. [break][break]
She uses her phone for too many important things to let it be damaged or stolen anyways, as her blog was solely done from the comfort of the portable device. Today the information page on the aquarium was pulled up, the page about the show that pulled in a lot of tourists and revenue to keep the aquarium running displayed on the screen. Her pale pink painted lips quirk a little as she reads over what could be expected tonight, as well as confirmation of the visitation period with the seals. It seemed that the seals were friendly animals, and it was also an optional choice to feed them. [break][break]
A flick down the screen and another tap requests and pulls up the event shop link, which held a good variety of souvenirs and trinkets, most of it at a reasonable price for a tourist trap event. Most things like these that Zenaide experiences tend to be overpriced, though these were reasonable save for a few of the plushes and a particular hoodie. One of the biggest advertised items was a bracelet made of sea-glass, sparkling a mermaid blue when the light hit it just right. It seemed as if the money earned from those was funneled into projects meant for clearing the pollution and garbage from bodies of water, instead of going to the aquarium itself. [break][break]
Satisfied with the event and that it would surely bring her friend cheer, she pressed the home button, opening up the camera and snapping a quick picture, throwing up her fingers in a peace sign. It captured the aquarium behind her, and without applying a filter, she sent it to Serestia with the caption of “excited for a girl’s night out!” She wouldn’t mention the aquarium show until later on her social media, knowing that there was always a chance of overexcited fans showing up and making things awkward or even a little messy. Tonight? It was just her and Serestia!
I had a few ideas, honestly! There’s an arcade-park, but I think at one point you mentioned being curious about an aquarium show? There’s also a tour at the planetarium!
