Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Should you decide to join, may I say welcome to the site and we all hope you enjoy your time here.
Yours Truely,
The Staff

Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
The question yielded a search of the database, but no result was found. "It is not known. As the flower is primarily used for its oils, and not decoration, due to the effects of the pollen on Earth and Heaven species. That is why it is kept in the dangerous plants section. Undead such as myself are the best suited to handling, as we are not easily killed by poisons and toxins. If you would like, you may test this theory upon purchase of a life cutting, and report the results back here, and i will catalogue the report and findings."
She opened the door, which was charmed so that no living being could open them, only undead, and automatons. the first plant by the door, moved, a large open petal lined with razorblade like thorns moving swiftly, before halting. Brushing the Golem's face with a tendril, it coiled back up and settled.
"Greater Teretect Bear Trap Flower. Heaven Species Variant of the Venus Flytrap Family. They can, and will eat Cherubs, or any creature up to the size of a large dog. They are self aware, and sentient. they can also feel pain, which proved a valuable method of teaching this one to not bite."
Registering the phrase about life and death as a request, she accessed the catalogue. They had several flowers that matched the description in varying degrees. However only one matched the key word search fully.
"I will take you there. The Black Phoenix Rose, Rosalis Phoenicia Mallus. A Hybrid Rose resulting from cross polination of the Black Phoenix Flower of Hell and the Blue Rose of Earth. The flower signifies the balance of life and death, and is also referred to as the Immortal Rose. Burning the rose results in a fuller and bright bloom, while the seeds only sprout over the graves of Murderers. The plant reacts to emotional states of those around, feeding on emotions linked to 'love' during the flowering phase, and emotions linked to hatred during the dormant post seeding phase. The oil from the flower is often used in incense that is said to improve mental flow and creativity."
Her tone was even more robotic, as she began walking toward the Rare and Dangerous Plants section.
Sophia blinked at the figure above her. As a Golem, she was less affected by the presence of other undead, although she still something off about this man. Reaching up to the Keeper's Crown, the top piece of her vital mechanics, and the portion that acted as a conduit for the magics she needed to function, she shrugged.
"It gathers magic to power my clockworks." she answered the question and then resumed her task, which consisted of carefully trimming the flowers to allow for the fullest, and healthiest blooms. She paused as she realized this person may be here to find flowers. Her emotions were muted, whether because she had always been a child with such a lack of feeling, or because of the manner in which she was resurrected, no one really knew. She had almost no memories from before here death, so she herself could not be sure.
She turned back to the man and gave a small bowing nod of apology like Mister Togata, the head Gardener would do.
"Do you need assistance in finding a particular specimen or item? I have the entire catalogue downloaded into my Systems, as well as a detailed map." Her tone was at once flat and almost robotic, and yet still belied her shyness and nervousness at interacting with someone.
for all she was hundreds of years old, her mind was still that5 of a 12 year old.
Sophia appears to be a young girl with dark hair and red eyes. She stands at barely 4 feet tall, and other than the giant cog wheel that seems to float over her head, the only sign of her being a Golem is the strange metallic skin of her right arm.
Her body is in fact composed of a mix of human flesh, and clockwork mechanisms powered by the Heart Core in her chest.
She is equipped with a very basic 'magical computer' that, when activated, changes her outter appearance and covers her body with armor, instigated the 'Keeper' program, which is in place to prevent her death...a second time.
NEGATIVE - Shy - Low Self Esteem - Easily Scared - Struggles to speak up for self - Easily manipulated
abilities
Superhuman Strength: she can easily lift a small car, even without her battle mode switched on. Woe unto the one who is foolish enough to anger her.
Superhuman Speed: By 'over clocking' her internal mechanisms she can, for very short periods, move at a speed beyond the human ability to perceive. To those without enhanced senses, it appears as if she teleports. The downside to this is that she can only use it once, and will go into a hibernation mode for up to three days after.
Extreme Durability: Despite her human flesh, she is fully capable of taking small arms fire, and could even take a full frontal blow from a Brute Terror, albeit only once. Her clockwork mechanisms include a strange system that heals her flesh at a normal human rate, however, none of her flesh is vital for her functions.
Age-Immortality: She will never age, physically or mentally, due to the nature of her resurrection.
Translator: She has been instructed in over 400 languages, and speaks all of them fluently,

backstory
Sophia was the daughter of Dr. Frank D. Stein and the Angel Celeste. She was killed by a common plague, and her father and mother both became obsessed with bringing her back. Using forbidden magics, technology, and a stolen Heart Core, they first used necromantic arts to bring her back from the dead, then trapped her soul in the Core.
Her father then spent decades working on creating a truly human like Flesh Golem. His successes and failures became known across the world, and inspired a novel.
After 40 years, using his machines to keep himself alive, he finally created for his daughter a body that looked nearly like her old one, and with the help of his lover Celeste, brought her back.
However, the process which gave her new life, also stripped away the memories of her life before, leaving only small fragments that sometimes come to the surface.
Long after her father vanished, either to his death, or something else she never knew, she was taken in by a group that wanted to use her as a weapon. They convinced her that it was what her father would have wanted, and that she would save many lives.
In truth she was used by a terrorist group that was opposed to both the TRS and the AP, a group that wanted nothing but the complete destruction of Earth. For many years she fought, and killed, for what she believed was the future of the Earth and all who lived on it.
It was only a decade ago that she was forced into hibernation while fighting an elite group of TRS Hunters, and upon waking learned what she had truly been doing.
She now works at the TRS HQ, maintaining the gardens and wishing to abstain from all fighting.
