Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Grei saw the fleeing figure, and was about to turn to pursue when he was impacted suddenly by a body that felt...heavier...than her size would indicate. It wasnt a physical density he felt, and it pause before reaching out to place a hand on her shoulder.
"Scuse me miss? Could i just ask you a few questions?"
He pulled his Badge from his pocket with the hand he was reaching with.
"You aren't in trouble but we received a suspicious person report for this area, and i just want to make sure you arent in any danger."
His tone was polite, even friendly, but his eyes had a bit of hardness to them.
Sergeant Adawulf was not exactly known for being the 'hard cop'. In fact he was pretty well known for being the cop most likely to let you off with a warning, for most minor things, as long as you apologized, and made a real effort to right your wrong.
That being said, the young thug under the Hellhound's knee was probably, arguably, deserving of his current situation. Caught stealing a laptop from a senior citizen, the gifted human had been offered the chance to get away, this one time, if he only apologized to the elderly lady, and returned the laptop, which he had hidden during the pursuit.
Grey was not fond of being told to 'piss off' and he certainly did not enjoy having someone with the power to form highly effectively lubrication, in the form of spit, coating him with the stuff. He actually found it quite irritating. And so, the young male was being detained, with a knee pressed into the back of his neck, dozen witnesses just shaking their heads, and the a beat cop coming over to drag him off for booking.
Locating the laptop was a simple matter, solved easily by taking Hellhound form, and sniffing the trail out. And then, it was back to business as usual for the plainclothes Policeman. Walking the beat, hoping to keep the peace.
Peace. HA. This city was safe enough, but peaceful? Not on your life.
Lorsette had become something of a Hub of cultural exchange over the centuries, the concentration of magical energies that coalesced here made it very attractive to all species, particularly those from Heaven and Hell, but also the Undead, and humans with magical talent. Normal humans, while not rare, were also not represented in a manner that their actual percentage of the worldwide population would dictate as the 'expected outcome', but this actually worked out for the better. It was safer for the humans who lacked the ability to defend themselves from the occasional rogue Lycanthrope, or moronic Vampire who tried to starve themselves.
Fact was, Lorsette, and a handful of other cities around the world, were places where you were just as likely to bump into a Lich on the subway, as you were a regular old human. And for the most part, it was fairly safe.
'Dispatch to any available unit, we have a suspicious person call at four-four-nine-two Decker Street. Please advise on ETA.'
Grey looked at where he was. Decker street was literally just down the way from him, less than 20 meters.
"Dispatch this is Unit Ten-Oh-Four, i am on location."
He made his way to the end of the street and turned the corner.
With White hair that contrasts his brothers Black, and Pale blue eyes for his brother's yellow, you would think that Grey would think he was different enough. However this was not the case. He went got a facial tattoo. Star and Line tattoo stands out on his face, and for a while his superiors at Lorsette PD were mad at him.
He almost always wears either his police uniform, or his police PT gear, that is Sweats and sneakers with the Lorsette PD logo on them.
Besides the pistol that is part of any normal police officer's outfit, he also carries a charmed rod, that when charged with his Hellish Hex energy extends into a massive sword.

Hell Hound:
Hexes: Grey can use hexes like all Hell Hounds, however his focus is on disabling hexes, and he is particularly skilled in the application of electrically based charms, powered by his hexes. (Who needs a taser?)
Increased Speed/Strength: Like any Hellhound, Grey is extremely strong and fast. Growing up with a physically superior Guardian Twin Brother pushed him to work even harder at improving these than the average Hell Hound. Like his brother, his fastest speed is close to Mach 1, however it drains him for days after afterwards.
Animal Instincts/Senses: Grey has the eyes, ears, nose and 'whiskers' of a hound. and his mind works accordingly. He can pick up a three day old trail, after a hurricane.
Shape Change: Grey can take the form a large, almost monstrous Czech Wolf Dog, with bright blue eyes. The differences between him and normal Czech Wolf Dogs are more than just his size. He has a pair of Silver horns that arch out from just in front and off center of, his ears, and his long claws and teeth are also silver.
Fire Immunity: Only a Holy fire could harm him, no flame could even try to scorch him otherwise.
Fire Manipulation: His control is moderate, unlike other Hellhounds who sport blue, red, or black flames, Grey's flames burn green as if copper were mixed with them. He often uses his flame manipulation while cooking.
backstory
While his brother pursued a career in animal Control, Grey went into Law enforcement. Despite nearly 50 years on the force, he has not gone above the rank of Sergeant, by his own choice. He is well liked by the majority of the people of Lorsette and is considered one of the most fair and open minded Officers on the entire police force.
misc
Grey uses a special TRS developed pistol that uses preloaded Charm Charges that are powered by Hex Magic. The charmed charges function like normal powder fired ammunition and the pistol will fire normal rounds as well.
Do not use drama to get attention in the chat. Nobody appreciates it.
