Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Standing at five foot seven, Branwen has an average body frame lined in practiced muscle. With an average skin tone and facial features, one would think Branwen wouldn’t stand out, but they do. They have long hair with many different hues - a mixture of vibrant orange to reds, bright blonde, and black. Their eyes are a luminous green - and may serve to naturally draw attention. Branwen’s wardrobe is fashionable - pops of colors accenting black.

backstory
Originally, their fascination had been superheroes.
Stories of righteous masked men and women always fighting for the right things and always prevailing over the villains. Despite harsh struggles scattered throughout, the ending would almost always be happy - like a fairytale. Branwen had adored one by the name of Crescent Mask - a female superhero with powers that worked under the light of the moon and stars.
Childhood heroes don’t always hold up when you get older.
As old things eventually go, Crescent Mask was sidelined for the newer and trendier superheroes, eventually leading into a story arc where she sacrificed herself for the continued life of the newer protagonist. Isn’t that a sad story to tell the world, that once you’re older and someone younger and prettier came along you’d be thrown aside?
Branwen didn’t like superheroes anymore.
After superheroes it was war heroes. Going through battle after battle to fight and protect who and what they believed in. Close calls, and dangerous scenarios, the nitty gritty. Teenage Branwen thought they were truly to be admired - and they weren’t wrong. Between classes they took to honing their innate abilities, a natural at the art of combat. The young dragon was certainly a pride to their parents, ambition was generally well-received by their family. Real people were certainly a better role-model than fictional characters right?
At least the young dragon wouldn’t be begging for the merch of Crescent Mask and her friends year after year. However, Branwen’s perception shifted near the tail end of their senior year. Despite the ability to fight for and kill for the people you love and beliefs you hold, what about those who were still lost? Wasn’t that still a tragedy?
It seemed easy to take a life, but wasn’t it more difficult and honorable to save one? Abandoning the arts of war for a new passion, Branwen took to the medical side of things, the things that would ensure continuance of life. Heart and soul were poured into their work - and it was difficult, more difficult than battle training had been.
The fruits of labor were eventually rewarded, landing a place within the TRS as a apprentice medic.

*Branwen is a Leo. *Branwen has an extremely high alcohol tolerance. By the time others around them are totally trashed, they might have somewhat of a buzz going on, if that. *Branwen is a BIG fan of hot apple cider and anything spiced in cinnamon. *Branwen hates pumpkin flavored anything. This extends to squash as well. *Branwen secretly has a secret radio station on the side. It’s anonymous so nobody knows it’s them. *Branwen carries a blend of ground up powder with them, kept in a necklace around their neck. The blend is comprised of scents soothing to them, on the off chance they become stressed or upset. They got it from an aromatherapy expert. *Branwen does not have a gentle hand no matter what they try. Their grip is far too firm.
Do not use drama to get attention in the chat. Nobody appreciates it.
