Welcome to The Duality of Man, an original animanga role-play that features numerous supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, these various species have distanced themselves because of the war that occurred thousands of years ago, plaguing some with eyes that only see their dualism. While others meddle themself with their differences, two groups fight, each attempting to eliminate the other in for their definition of worldly peace. These two groups of the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) and the Assembly of Phantoms (AP). With individuals fighting merely over their differences, it brings uncertainty to the outcome of this war.
We happily accept all role-players as long as they obey the rules and are capable of meeting our word count of 50. This does include those who are unfamiliar with this style of role-playing. The staff of The Duality of Man are willing to happily help those who are new to the role-playing world so they feel comfortable on site. Feel free to message the staff if you need help, they can be found here or in the site Discord and will gladly answer questions alongside calm concerns. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them; guests may use the support board as a suggestion area as well. Summer 2024
Heat has broken through into a glorious summer. The snow has entirely dried through the spring, leaving to the brilliance of the warmer months. Terror activity has risen as people are brought out of their homes, leaving the TRS in a position of consistent work. Each are attempting to maintain victory in the endless struggle for power.
Since the wonderful members of TDOM enjoy the site enough to play around on it, this thread is to assist with the site's tidying! Functionality is important and we want to make the site functional even if its activity will be minimal at best!
Hazel had been so busy with work that when the carnival came into town she was determined to take time off work to go to it. She had ran into her friend Danika and had asked her to join her. So she had finished getting dressed at her apartment before walking out the door with her purse in her hand. She waved a taxi down and had them drive her to the Starlight Beach. Once they were there, she paid the driver and got out of the car. She slowly made her way towards the line, pulling her cell phone out of her purse, she would look up Danika's name to text her to let her know that she is here. She waited in line until it was her turn for entry. She would then move off to the side so that she could hopefully find Danika in the crowd.
A small yawn escaped her lips as she rolled over for what seemed like the hundredth time. Whenever she had the day off she had the habit of sleeping in. Honestly it wasn't ever too long. She would feel like she wasted the whole day if she did. She felt around her bedside table for her phone. She looked at the time and knew she would have to start getting ready if she wanted to be on time.
She showered and got dressed before heading to the kitchen. Her stomach growled at her. She cooked some eggs and toast for breakfast. She texted hazel good morning and reassured her that she would be there on time. She was so happy she was able to go to the carnival that year. Last time it had come around she had to work through it.
She did a couple more things around her apartment before getting ready to head to the carnival. The line to get in wasn't too long. She paid for her ticket and went off to find some shade and of course to get away from the crowd. Her phone buzzed and she looked down. It was a text from hazel. She quickly texted her back telling her where she was located. She waved when she thought she spotted the cute blonde.
Hazel got the text message from Danika and couldn't help but smile slightly as she waited by the entrance. A few minutes later she had found herself playing on her phone so she didn't notice her friend go through the entrance before moving off to another location but when her phone buzzed she noticed the text message and headed in the location that Danika had mentioned, once finding her, she noticed her friend waving at her and she waved back. "Thanks for joining me today." She answered with a small smile on her face as she moved closer, reaching out to hug her friend before asking, "Where shall we go to first?"
it felt like ages since the last time she had actually gotten a day off. she loved anything that had rides. she was glad that she wouldn't be going alone this time. she saw hazel and hugged the blonde as well. despite them both being medics, they rarely got to work together. unless it was some sort of medics meeting or something of the sort. after all danika had left the field and moved into the ward now."sorry i must of walked right past you."she said with a grin. she had the whole day to enjoy."what should we do first?"
Hazel was thrilled that Danika had hugged her back. "That is okay, we have met up now." She answered with a huge smile on her face. "I think finding a ride would be the most fun." She answered, though she had never been here before and she didn't know where to start. "Should we just walk this way and see what we happen to come across?" She suggested, pointing forward, hoping that Danika would agree, else she would wait for Danika to lead them to their destination.
she simply nodded."sure. i haven't been to a carnival in a long time."she told her with a laugh. she knew the place would be full of people. there were booths set up with people playing various games. she could smell the food in the air, and of course she could hear the screams of people as they went on rides.
"if we are going to do rides first. we should probably do food last. don't want you throwing up if we go on a fast ride."she said with a teasing smile. for all she knew hazel wasn't the type to get motion sickness. danika thankfully was not. she could spin around and around and be fine.
Hazel nodded her head in agreement, "I haven't either, I feel rusty on trying to figure out where to start." She admitted as they started walking. "I think that is a good idea, though I've never had that problem before, I don't want there to ever be a first." She giggled, besides the idea of being sick on the ride sounded rather unpleasant and all it took was avoiding food first and she was likely to be fine. "Besides I find that food is much more tasty when I get to hold onto it longer."
The first ride that came into view was a ferris wheel, the line was long. "Do you care if we have to wait in a long line or should we find a ride that isn't nearly as long of a wait?" She asked, waiting for Danika to answer as she moved somewhat closer to the end of the line. The last thing she wanted was to plan for the ferris wheel and somebody else get ahead of her. There was nothing more annoying than getting behind a group of people when the line was long enough as it was.
"What is your favorite ride?" She asked, changing the subject to kill time. She for one, loved going on roller coasters. But water rides were fun too, it was just a shame that the carnival was limited on the rides they offered.
she laughed softly."good to know. for sure lets not risk it. i didn't bring a change of clothes."she said as she dusted her blouse. she figured she'd let hazel lead. she really didn't mind what they did first or where they went. danika was willing to try anything at least once. hazel had mentioned the ferris wheel and despite its long line they walked towards it."i don't mind waiting. i mean once we are up way up high we can see the whole place."she told her as the line started to move a little.
she had asked what her favorite ride was and she had to think for a while."um, i guess i would have to say the ones that spin you around really fast. oh, especially the ones that flip you upside. where you feel like you're gonna fall out but in reality you are not....or at least i hope we don't fall out."she said with a laugh."how about you?"
Hazel giggled, "Sounds good to me. I didn't bring an extra spare of clothes either." She answered, glad they were in agreement over the subject. Once they got into line for the ferris wheel, she felt relieved to hear that Danika didn't mind waiting. "Yeah." She giggled, that hadn't been her reason for choosing this ride it just so happened to be first but being able to see the whole place sounded nice. She asked Danika about her favorite ride, listening when she answered about rides that spin and some that even go upside down. "Yeah those rides are scary but are fun." She agreed, nodding her head. "I love roller coasters." She admitted, giggling before adding, "But water rides are fun too. Too bad they don't have any here today." The line moved forward and she inched closer to the entrance, but keeping some distance between herself and the people in front of them.
she laughed softly."look we are next."she said in an excited tone. neither of them had brought a pair of extra clothes. she didn't plan on getting sick. she hadn't gotten sick before, and hopefully wouldn't. she nodded at hazel's words."next time we have a day off we should go to one that has both. roller coasters and water rides."she told her as she handed the person her tickets and got on the ride.
the last time she had been out. she had gone to the ice castle. it seemed like time was flying by. as the compartment moved the wind started to pick up a bit. she figured it was because they were going up. she looked out at the layout of the carnival."we have to try that one next."she told hazel as she pointed to a ride that had the participants spinning and then flipping them upside down."but in the mean time. how is life?"she asked with a smile.
Hazel couldn't help but smile when Danika had pointed out that they were next to get on the ferris wheel. She couldn't help but stare at the ride, grinning when Danika made a suggest for her. "Sounds good to me." She answered, slowly moving to get on the ride after giving her tickets to the person. She looked out of the compartment, excited that they were finally getting a chance to go up. Now she would be able to see the whole area and what the carnival had to offer. She found herself looking at where Danika was pointing at, a grin remained on her face as she found herself staring at the ride that could spin and flip them upside down.
"It is alright. It seems to be the same old same old, just a different day." She answered before grinning, "How about you?" She asked, curious on what Danika had been up to this whole time. Hopefully things weren't too boring back in the ward, at least she had the chance of getting out and helping people, poor Danika was stuck being indoors the whole shift.
